The 3rd Elephant Chess Cup

Overview
After the success of the 1st (Signups | Everything Thread) and 2nd (Signups | Everything Thread) Elephant Chess Cup, I will be hosting a third edition, with the competition once again returning to Newport, South Newlandia. Teams of 4 will compete against each other in rapid (15+5) chess for the title. The third edition will be running similarly to the first two, with a couple of minor changes.

Format
There will be 9 total matches for all teams on 5 different scorination days, using a Casaran (Swiss) system. After the end of the Casaran stage, depending on the number of total entrants, we will proceed with Quarterfinals or Semifinals. There will also be placement games for teams that fell just short of the knockouts.

Scorination
I will be using xkoranate to scorinate team chess matches, and the tabulate function to compile the standings. There are no rankings for the Elephant Chess Cup, and teams that only joined for the this edition will have no disadvantage compared to those that played in the previous ones.
Following me being unhappy with the results generated by xkoranate in the most recent edition, I have decided to adjust the scorination file. The biggest change is that draws will be significantly more common (approx. a fourth of all games), which I believe to be way more realistic. Very lopsided scores will also be slightly more common. You can find the raw file under this spoiler.

Puppet rules
Teams do not necessarily have to come from a single nation, and may instead consist of up to 4 nations. All nations in such an arrangement will have to confirm their participation individually. Every nation may only take part in one team, while a second team may be operated with a puppet. Nations that were in combined teams for the first edition may choose to compete on their own, or the other way around.

Roleplay
Chess knowledge is not required to participate in this competition. You are free to roleplay about whatever you want, and do not have to mention the results at all.

Timing
I am planning to start the third ECC around the end of World Cup 90.
