This weekend had been a forgettable one for Micheal Rush and the 05 team. Not that it would be easy to forget qualifying 54th out of a 56 car field. But that didn't tell the full story of the weekend. Rush had been solidly fast throughout practice, putting up sub 23.5 runs en route to being placed in Group 4 to start the first qualifying session. Kassie had also been assigned to Group 4 and managed to finish 4th out of the 7 drivers that she qualified with, but it wasn't enough to move her on to Q2 as she barely missed the cut line in 41st. Rush on the other hand had a miserable day. First, a crew member forgot to take the covers off the radiator and side vents, leading to Rush cooking the engine halfway through the first lap and the engineers having to spend most of the session getting the engine back up to spec. By the time Rush was able to get out on the track, there were only 2 minutes left in the session. He put up a valiant effort, but a failing one. Now all that was left to race and hopefully make up some of the spots he had lost in qualifying

The time had finally come for the TMW 500 in Ramba, Sherpaland, where forty-six of the world's best stock car racers will go around the short and dusty Ramba Test Track seven hundred and ten times. Yes, the event organizers decided that the "500" in the race's name would refer to the number of miles, not laps. Thus, it will not only be a test of speed and strategy, but also endurance.

Jeremiah Brooke didn't let his fifth place start go to waste. He loitered in and around the top ten most of the time, sometimes even challenging for the lead. Aside from him, the three full-time Sherpa drivers seemed to be in their element that day, especially Kai Qiang, who looked as if he had brought a cheetah to a yak race.

With only a few laps to go, Qiang was in the lead, while Jeremiah was running fifth. He had just passed Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal, and now was on the tail of Tsering Chu (Qiang's wife), riding her air and waiting for the right momeht to overtake. A couple of lapped cars came up in front of them. "Change of plans," Jeremiah thought. He put a bumper to the back of Chu, loosening her up and leaving her to deal with the lapped cars while he dove to the inside to overtake.

Up next were two more female drivers, Jenna Logan and Taylor Henderson, who were fighting for second place. Jeremiah waited for a window to open up so he can get through it and past them, but finding none, he decided to create one by nudging Hendo. Hendo of course, fireball that she is, responded in kind; sparks flew between her blue and orange #73 Preston and Jeremiah's purple - sorry, violet - #18 Chadwick. Jenna took advantage of the little shoving match between the two, getting past them on the outside as they went up the sloped part of the track. After some more contact, Hendo finally pulled ahead and started making a run on Qiang, but she still could not shake Jeremiah off her rear bumper. A while later, Chu, Rinzi, and Gwen Oxton managed to catch up with the front pack. Jeremiah successfully held them off, but he would still have to settle for fourth behind Jenna, Hendo, and Qiang, who accomplished the special feat of winning from the pole, and in his home country at that.

Image

"Man, I need a rest after that," Jeremiah told reporters. Despite not getting the win, he was still all smiles during the press conference, his second straight fourth place finish allowing him to leapfrog Anastasia Aye for the Multiversal Series points lead. "Short track, slopy track, dusty track, all those laps - it was insane, but I loved every moment of it as much as I loved being here in scenic Sherpaland. Congrats to the winner, and see you all in Aji No Moto."

Sage Caldwell started in the middle of the pack but quickly rose up, nudging other cars left and right just as his mentor Skip Stiller always did. Sage's "Blue Trey" was much more responsive than the yak he rode yesterday ever was, and by lap 30, he was battling Jeremiah for a top five spot. Dust buildup on his windshield did cause Sage to make unwanted contact with the wall and other cars, though, causing him to pit when he didn't want to, just to fix his fenders or peel off his window film. In the end, he would finish thirteenth, the same as he did in the yak race. "Coincidence? I think..... yeah, maybe it was, just that," Sage said during the presser.

Thea Alvarez's day was a much different story than Sage's, despite starting only two rows behind him. The dust, in combination with a too tight handling, prevented her from making the passes that she wanted to make. Not only that - she spun out on her own on Lap 82, nearly taking out Jessica Franssen (who would later retire anyway, though not because of anything of Thea's doing). And then on lap 431, she got hit with a speeding penalty that shuffled her further back. Thea looked headed for a finish outside the top twenty, but a late burst of speed enabled her to climb ten positions in the final four laps and finish sixteenth, right behind Sage and side by side at the line with her Filindo friend Hana Bhe. "Not our best performance, but hopefully we can bounce back in Aji No Moto next week, where there's hopefully much less dust to deal with."

桂林 (Guilin)

Kai Qiang was sitting in a back corner of a restaurant. His wives, their daughters, and his business partner Arjun Bhandari were seated around the table with him, and the table was laid out with a colorful array of food. His sister wasn't around because she was in Delhi with Vijay Tripathi preparing for their wedding.

Arjun, Mendok, and Tsering were having an animated conversation about ride-sharing apps. A ride-sharing app called Papchung had been spreading across the Sherpa Empire over the last couple of years, and recently it had gained traction in Guilin, competing against the local taxi companies. Flying Fish Taxi, the company that Qiang and Arjun had founded together, was struggling with the increased competition. So Arjun had asked Mendok to help him create an app to compete with Papchung, and now, since Tsering was in town and she knew how to code, they were asking her for advice.

Meanwhile, Qiang was totally bored. He didn't know how to code, he didn't use ride-sharing apps, and he just wasn't interested. His mind wandered and he started thinking about other people he knew in Guilin, thinking about whether there was anyone else he should visit while he was there. He had already made plans to have lunch with Jia Huang's family. He remembered hearing that his old math teacher Mrs. Zheng had been sick lately. She had tried to keep him in high school after his father died. Qiang started poking around social media to see if he could get in touch with her and see how she was doing.

Mrs. Zheng was resting on the couch while her daughter, who had come to check on her, bustled about the apartment. There was a well-used cutting board and a bunch of vegetables on the kitchen counter, a steaming soup pot on the stove, and a nice smell wafting out of the kitchen. Mrs. Zheng heard her phone make a blooping noise, but the phone was on the other side of the room. "Darling, can you see who that is on the phone?"

Her daughter picked up the phone and read off the name without thinking about who it was or reading the message. "Qiang Kai. Do you want the phone?" She said in the most matter of fact way, as if there was nothing remarkable about the name on the screen.

Mrs. Zheng, on the other hand, immediately recognized the name, and her eyes widened in surprise. "Qiang Kai? It can't be!"

"Do you want to talk to him?" her daughter asked, still in the same matter of fact tone.

"Yes, of course!" said Mrs. Zheng. "Is it really him?"

"Someone you know?"

Mrs. Zheng took the phone and explained. "It's the NSSCRA driver, Qiang Kai. A long time ago, he was my student. I'm sure I told you about that. His father died and the poor thing had to drop out of school because he was too busy working to do his schoolwork." She read Qiang's message and smiled. "It's so nice that he thought of me after all these years."

Her daughter did the most amazing double-take as it finally registered who the message was from. "That's HIM???? I thought it was just some random guy named Qiang Kai. There's so many guys named Kai -- it's like Lhakpa or Dorji, I can't even keep them straight."

"Yes, but they aren't all named Qiang, and I recognize his profile picture," said Mrs. Zheng. She squinted at the screen and poked at her phone's tiny keyboard. They exchanged a couple of messages and Qiang said he would come over the next day and he would bring some sticky dumplings so she didn't have to cook. Mrs. Zheng smiled so brightly, you would have never known she was sick.

Mrs. Zheng led Kai Qiang into her living room. She moved slowly, but she looked absolutely delighted. "It's so wonderful to see you after all these years," she said.

"Yeah... I heard you were sick, and I thought I'd see how you were doing."

"I'm not as young as I used to be, but I am doing all right."

Mrs. Zheng had a teapot, tea cups, and a couple of tins of different loose-leaf teas already set out on the coffee table. Two large thermoses sat at the foot of the sofa, filled with hot water to brew the tea. Qiang set the bag of sticky dumplings down on the table, and she pulled it open, allowing the gentle scent of steamed rice and banana leaves to waft up into her nostrils. She took a dumpling out of the bag and began unwrapping the string and banana leaf it was bundled in. Qiang sat down across from her and did the same.

"You should have brought your kids," said Mrs. Zheng. "I would have liked to meet them."

"They're still young," said Qiang. "They don't know how to behave yet."

Mrs. Zheng nodded. "Kids are like that. You know it makes me happy to see you having a successful career after everything you went through. Even before you were famous, I thought about what ever happened to you. I've seen a lot of things in my work -- kids from bad home situations or just battling personal demons, sometimes worse off than you were. It's hard to watch sometimes. But seeing you in NSSCRA... It gives me hope that maybe they'll turn out okay."

"I'm not sure if I really turned out okay," said Qiang.

Mrs. Zheng snorted. "You're doing just fine, Qiang. I don't believe anything they say about you in the tabloids."

Qiang smiled. "Yeah, it's never as bad as the tabloids make it sound."

རམ་པ་ (Ramba)

The weather was dry and windy. Most people at the track were going through ample quantities of chapstick and lotion to cope with the dry chilly winds. A dust storm blew in right around the start of the TMW 400, but the worst of it had cleared up by the time the Feather Girls took the stage for their concert. All of the Sherpa drivers -- both the regulars and Kalden Tso -- hoped it would stay clear for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday morning as they took the track for practice and qualifying, the winds were calmer and there was less dust in the air. You could still see it stirring along the ground, especially where it had settled on the track and got thrown back up by people's wheels -- but visibility was decent. Kai Qiang took pole position and Rinzi and Tsering turned in decent laps to qualify 12th and 13th. "Haha, I guess it makes it easy for us to help each other out at the start of the race tomorrow," Rinzi said of his starting position.

After qualifying, there was yak racing and a concert to fill out the day. Some of the drivers just wanted to rest or hit the sims, but others thought the yak race would be a good way to de-stress ahead of race day.

Despite growing up in a rural setting in the Sherpa Empire, Kai Qiang did not actually have a lot of experience with yaks. They didn't do well at lower elevations where the weather could get hot and humid, so everyone around Guilin used water buffalo instead.

Qiang did, however, have plenty of experience around animals, so it wasn't that hard for him to get the hang of riding a yak. The locals wooped and cheered, genuinely impressed that Qiang and Tyler Linde could hold their own against professional yak herders. Wilma and Brooke made a respectable showing as well.

Rinzi and Tsering were not so comfortable with large animals. Tsering was sensible enough to admit it and watch the yak races from the sidelines. Rinzi was not sensible. Rinzi was too macho to admit there was anything he couldn't do. He managed not to fall off the yak, which put him ahead of Chris Holmes, but he still floundered around like an idiot while the yak went bounding this way and that, zig-zagging all over the pitch.

Luckily, they would all have a good night's sleep before they returned to their cars for the TMW 500. Chris Holmes would have time for his bruises to heal, and everyone would have a chance to catch their breath and clear their head.

Qiang's wife Mendok did her best too keep him up with her bedroom antics, but Qiang insisted that he needed his sleep. "You can slap me silly after the race," he assured her. "Just not tonight."

"You promise I can slap you silly after the race?"

"Yeah, just let me sleep."

Mendok grabbed Qiang and gave him a big sloppy kiss. "You're the best! I'm gonna hold you to that!"

The TMW 500 went well for the Sherpa Empire, except for the part where Kalden Tso finished 39th and made it obvious why he did not have IRACT's full-time charter.

Qiang lost the lead and gained it back several times over the course of the race, but he was never far from the front. As the last few laps wound down, he was back in the lead, but Taylor Henderson was trying to get around to his outside. He was physically and mentally exhausted at the end of a long race and a busy weekend, but just a few more laps and he'd have a win and a Chase berth. Henderson was doing a fine job fighting off everyone else, so Qiang had no one else to worry about except her. But he still had to worry about her. A couple of times she pulled up beside him as they went into a turn, but then the shorter inside line would let Qiang pull ahead again. Last lap, Qiang came around the bottom end of the track, still in the lead, but Hendo was giving him a run for his money. He crossed the line first with her close behind.

Qiang parked in Victory Lane and spent what was left of the afternoon stumbling around in a happy daze collecting his prizes, talking to the media, and so on. He was incredibly satisfied with what he'd accomplished this weekend, but also incredibly tired. "There are so many things that can happen during a race to shake up the order of the cars, so it's really special to start on pole and win the race on the same weekend," Qiang said. "And especially to do it here. TMW is one of the biggest employers in this region, so a lot of local people that live around here -- they're the ones who keep TMW running as a company, and they're the reason why TMW can give me the quality of support that they do, so I'm glad that I could win here in front of them. But I didn't win it all. Tyler Linde beat me at the yak race."

Rinzi was a little frustrated because he thought he could have won if he had just managed his tires better. He lost some time because he put off stopping for tires, but then one of them started losing pressure and he had to limp into the pit to get it replaced. He made it to the pit before it went too flat to drive on, but it would have been more efficient if he'd just stopped for tires a couple of laps earlier before it went flat at all.

Tsering was quite pleased with both her own 5th place finish and Qiang's victory.

After a weekend of chaos, both on and off the track, JR reached its first T1-T2 split with the headlines all around. The "scrimmage" with Drake Stevenson and the rest of Team Blue has certainly been around the headlines in recent days and after that flash in the pan, both sides have certainly cooled off the tensions and things are finally beginning to return to some sort of normalcy. Now, Mr Stevenson finally believed us and doesn't think we were behind the birds while the mood at JR has certainly calmed down as well. My approach in that situation was certainly not the best, I will admit that, but when you are confronted with someone with such venom in both eyes and tongue, what else are you supposed to do? It was as basic as fight or flight and in that context, I had no choice but to fight - for what I believed in, for what I felt was right. I do apologise for maybe taking things too far on that day, but nothing else - as I don't have anything else to apologise for. I hope Drake, and everyone at Team Blue, will understand that in due course...

Now then, onto the racing and we being in Having City and The Typhoon Speedway for the Roromania 300 in...well, Roromania of course! This weekend on the debuting track would continue JR's improvements in the 2nd Tier as Robin Dragonovic (@RD97SNL) started 15th and finished in 19th while Alice Jepkosgei (@AJ96) started 11th and fished in a spectacular 8th place, the highest place meant for JRT2 this season. Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine may have taken pole but it was teammate Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds who led out the ValZ 1-2 today, with Pyotr Lavrentiev completing the podium. Things are certainly looking up for the Contenders series challenge and with a V&T 1-2 leading out the championship, there really is no clear favourite at the moment!

Meanwhile, the Cup Series went to one of the most memorable events on the calendar as we headed to Tibet and the Ramba Test Track for the TMW 500. Maddison Riley-Jones (@MRJ03) had her best race of the season so far within the mountains over the weekend, qualifying in an impressive 18th before bringing the car home in 23rd overall - a brilliant job for the 1st NSSCRA T2 Champion. The boys, meanwhile, were debuting their new Pride Paint Schemes and the first weekend they had with the rainbows on was certainly interesting, with Michael Stefan (@Stefan07) starting 10th and finishing 8th after a late-race recovery drive while Alfonso Mercado (@AM64) starting 23rd and finished 30th after struggling for most of the weekend for unknown reasons. He will certainly bounce back, we all know that, but he may need a breakout performance if he is to challenge for a Chase spot this season. Speaking of the Chase, The Sherpa Empire certainly did win today as Kai Qiang, the ally we were dedicating our scheme with, beat both Taylor Henderson and Jenna Logan (one of the Dagan riders rating for Tropicorp this season) to a signature win in front of the home fans. Stefan remains up there in the standings in 3rd overall.

After many drivers from this nation entering this series in the past, Aji No Moto will finally get to host the NSSCRA party itself as both the T2 Konbini 247 and the Main Event Aji Air 400 welcome the racing world to the stunning Sankyoku Triangle Tyrone Tabuso for the 4th round of the season.

Before I go, two more things. Firstly, I would like to welcome both Chris Holmes and former driver Tyler Linde into the realms of the Meme Watch LIst! The list has stayed pretty dormant since Stevenson kicked it off but after a now-infamous race involving Yaks, both drivers find their way here, Holmes for spectacularly falling off his Yak and Linde for declaring himself "King of the Yaks", which doesn't sound important at all, after winning said race. I'm sure both of them will take this news alright...now all we need is Hendo for a Hap Clean Sweep! (jk, jk)

The second is a bit more concerning...ever since the events of the previous week, my mental health has certainly taken a bit of a dip. I know my condition may not be important to everyone, but admitting my issues in a public forum is the first step towards trying to move past them. I know things will be better in the future but after the confrontation last week, I felt as though my role within this team and this sport was starting to weigh on me a bit. Because of this, I've decided to put up a favourite of mine for Music of the Round, a song I use regularly to try and push forward in my day to day life. I am a simple man from Riverside, that is all...I hope you all know that...

It has been said more than a few times that Valentijn and Marcus are more than compatible with one another in terms of friendship. The two warmed up to each other ever since they first encountered one another in Thailand, when Marcus' first task was to travel to west of Thailand to oversee the operations there, given the friendly attitude of the Southeast Asian nations towards one another in spite of the war during the Pre-Valentian. With a few men on his side, he made his way further down west, eventually stepping on the soils of Burma. The surveying was a relatively simple task, owing to the friendly attitude that the two nations have. He then met then-Captain Valentijn of the Burmese Army in a string of coincidence, as Valentijn was then attached to watch over the Eastern side of Burma. The two met eye to eye with one another, shared their own experience, and had quite a positive friendship with one another. Marcus recalled fondly, "As soon as we met one another, we know that there is something common that we see eye to eye. The first meeting with him was tense, but it was eventually dissolved into laughter and happiness as he shared some of the delicacies that he brought over from his HQ. He first asked if I was Muslim, I told him "No, Captain. I'm a free thinker." Then he went into another chuckle and opened this little plastic lunchbox. "Wet tha dok htoe, Burmese pork offal skewers. Give it a try, they are nice!" They definitely are nice, I will tell you that! We also shared a few drinks here and there together, and both my men and their men definitely got along well. I was then thankfully informed that I am not supposed to hurt them, let alone kill them; I was just a liaison for both Burmese and Thai forces, and I was just supposed to keep the peace." From that day onwards - from two peacekeeping forces with equally amicable commanders, to Burmese pork delicacies, to sticking around with each other for 100 years and counting, Valentijn and Marcus have been inseparable, though this has not been that obvious other than hanging out with each other and spending a bit of time together as friends. This would be further shown in the qualifications and the race today.

From the start, the qualifications have not been kind to their plans of teaming up, with Valentijn taking the pole position and Marcus taking 19th. As daunting as it was, the two decided that had they meet each other on the track - which they will - they promised to come back for each other, even if it means one of them might possibly lose out. Come the start of the Everlong at The Typhoon Speedway, Valentijn was having a comfortable lead while Marcus was starting up with quite a handful of cars in front of him. Going from 19th to 2nd would have been an extremely difficult challenge, at first because there were little to no other cars to streamline with. Both Everlong Valentians have not worked with other non-Valentian drivers yet.

Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine (#10): Do you think you can come over to me before the next pit?
Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds (#60): Yeah, I think I can do it... I think. Give me a few laps, let me see what I can do.

And with that, passed tens of laps with Marcus trying his best to close into Valentijn. It was going relatively normal, since the speedway permits for speeding and overtaking unlike a short track. After a series of pit stops and both hiccups and gains alike, Marcus managed to overtake several vehicles before overtaking even Valentijn herself. The duo would end up at 5th and 6th respectively during the last few laps, Marcus eventually slowing down a little bit so that Valentijn could catch up. The other cars are following up, but they were not afraid of that for the time being. For that point, it only mattered that they have caught up with one another.

Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine (#10): Well, well, look at you go, man! I know you got this!
Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds (#60): Ahaha, thanks! Now then, let's take on the rest of the cars, eh? Come on, I think we can win this.
Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine (#10): Thanks for the streamline, man.
Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds (#60): We told each other - we will stick together as best as we can!

And it worked in their favor! With the two sticking together to each other well, they managed to overtake the drivers in front of them, ending up with a winning 1st and 2nd for the last 2 laps. They maintained that form - Marcus on the front, Valentijn at the back - as they tore through the second last lap. Then came the last lap, whereby other vehicles were starting to exert back pressure on them. #22, #20, #0, they were all closing on the duo, and is giving a bit more pressure to Valentijn.

Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds (#60): Val, I got a plan, and it just might work.
Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine (#10): Listening.
Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds (#60): When we hit the last turn, slingshot away from me and floor it! Break away from my back bumper, and go!
Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine (#10): Good plan, but... what if you lost the bumper draft from me? You might fall behind too much!
Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds (#60): Trust me, it will work.

Valentijn has always been known to trust Marcus, and this one is no exception. Nodding to herself, she acknowledged the plan and decided to go with it. Come the last turn, with the other cars approaching and seemingly trying to enclose her behind Marcus. "Now or never!" Marcus exclaimed on the radio. With that, Valentijn made a move. Looking at both sides of her car, she turned firmly but carefully to the right - to the inside - then hitting the accelerator as hard as she could. Within 2 seconds, she was right beside Marcus, with #22 behind where Marcus was. Had it not for their plan, #20 possibly might have taken that second place. In this event, however, the checkered flag came in, with Marcus taking the victory followed by Valentijn. "#60 Marcus 1st, #10 Valentijn 2nd, #22 Pyotr 3rd! What a spectacular race, ladies and gentlemen!" the announcer blared out on the PA system, with the two Valentians making another lap before giving the honor to Marcus.

Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds (#60): Haha, I told you, Val. Trust me.
Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine (#10): Woo-hoo! I never doubted you in the first place! Hey, thanks man! enjoy that victory lap.

As Marcus finished his victory lap, he exited the car while still wearing his armor, possibly one of the only cases so far whereby he did not wear a firesuit like the rest of the drivers. The suit of armor with a species of alien worms being used as bond to Marcus might have been a bit of a turnoff for some, but for Marcus, it is one of his proudest works of science - the unbreakable and durable armor, combined with an established coexistence with the said alien species. He has absolute control over it at any time, and would subtlety show it off almost everywhere he goes. "Infinity Armor," he said to the crowd, "The hardwork of myself and my colleagues, and the wonderful Valentians. The best in Defense!" With that done, Valentijn and Marcus ran together to the podium along with Pyotr.

In the meantime, Jamie arrived at Ringung County earlier for her IRACT race, but that went into the dumps as she found herself DNFed when she overturned and spun out into the inside wall. Other than small scratches on her arms and legs, Jamie was otherwise fine and left for sightseeing along with Mandy. As for the Main Series drivers - Clarissa 2nd, Anastasia 3rd, and once again Gwen at 21st. A little ticked off by her own results, the three drivers decided to break away from the garage for the time being and went around to take in the wonders of the Ringung County. "There definitely is a lot to do around here," Clarissa said to her friends gleefully, "Isn't this place lovely? The bus ride was pretty fun too, though it's a shame our drop ship had to be stationed at Shigatse!"

"I mean, it's not too bad, I suppose. I actually quite like it, yeah!" Anastasia nodded and agreed, "It is quite slow and peaceful, that's why I like smaller villages and counties! Well, we still should think of something we can do, I suppose."

"Ooh, what do you have in mind?"

"Hmm, there is this yak racing thing that we could do. It sounds fun, right? It's like riding a horse!"

"That sounds fun! I'm sure it will break us away from the stress!"

Both Clarissa and Anastasia looked at Gwen with a smirk, with the latter laughing sheepishly and then reluctantly going for it. "Well, all right. I mean, nothing bad can happen, right? It's just a yak!"

With their bodies shrunk, the Valentians signed up for the yak race, after finding and bargaining for the 3 strongest yaks they can find to accommodate for their bodies. Clarissa befriended the yak in less than 7.77 seconds, while Anastasia has already mastered riding on the yak that she just got onto. As for Gwen, the yak spitted on her thrice. "I suppose that is a welcome spit, BUT goodness gracious, knock it off with the spitting!"

The yak grunted and squeaked.

"My goodness, you are like a hairy camel," Gwen bantered lightheartedly before wiping off the spit from her clothes and riding on it. As for the race itself? Clarissa did average while Anastasia was one of the best riders out there. "It's not magic, of course. I learned about horse-riding ever since I was a little girl! Ahh, though the yaks handle a little differently from horses, you know what I mean?" In the meantime, Gwen finished off with a resounding second last, only spared her own Fate of being laughed at because there was someone else who was taking one for the Valentians. "Poor Holmes," Gwen muttered, her knees shaking as she slowly got off from her yak and giving it a pat. She might not be used to it, but she was nonetheless grateful to the kind animal.

"Didn't you do this more often in other universes as a Fate?" Anastasia asked curiously.

"Not really, to be honest. I didn't really ride a lot of animals, haha!"

Then came the actual race the next day, with Clarissa and Anastasia pulling the moves that are reminiscent of Valentijn and Marcus back in Roromania. This time, however, a series of falters and short track shenanigans have caused problems for one another - for instance, Clarissa falling behind on the first segment, then Anastasia on the 5th segment. The two still managed, however, as they went back to back with one another and kept close to each other. If NSSCRA 8 and 9 were when the Valentians were stepping into the world of stock car racing, and when NSSCRA 10 showed their individual prowess, then NSSCRA 11 is possibly going to be the one where the Valentians showed their excellent teamwork with one another. For this race, however, it would have went to possibly the most unexpected of the Valentians - Gwen Tracer Allison Oxton. After 2 faltering segments of the race, she roared off and passed several cars to maintain her Top 10 for the remainder of the race - unyielding, determined, bright and shiny. Finishing best at 7th out of the 5 drivers, she gave a huge wink and a wave of her arms to the fans around her, those that feels that Gwen is going to make a huge comeback for this season. "Trust me, Loves! I will definitely try my best, and there is little to nothing getting in my way of motivation this time!"

In the vast world, it was initially thought to be empty and devoid of life. At least, no animal life was seen. There were plants around, to which they were identified to be congruent with the ones found on Earth. Still, it's weird that these trees could survive in the freezing temperatures of this dimension, and while thriving on the blue light for the most parts. Some of its uninvited visitors - whether unintentional or otherwise - would be lost for days without food and water, coupled with the cold ambient temperatures. Somehow, they would survive, if not shivering constantly from the cold that would not make it physically possible for a human to survive in. The questions would slowly be answered by the existence of one entity - one that calls herself "Holly Starlight".

Jolyn went for the yak racing with the other Valentians whilst Holly watched from a distance. She would not mind going for it, and in fact, might actually have quite a lot of fun with it. However, even with her firesuit, her 40 Kelvins cold body would most very definitely freeze a poor yak to death. She was already happy with the qualifications that she has gotten - 17th, with Jolyn getting 27th. She felt rather bad for Jolyn, but perhaps it was just that her friend was unable to perform as well on the Short Track, and instead would do better somewhere else. With a few thoughts racing in her mind, she simply let them go and enjoyed the race, then going back to her garage to check out her car, among a few other things. Just then, a familiar-looking woman made her way towards Holly with a kid in tow. Thea Alvarez, from Saint Kanye, bringing a kid along towards Holly. "This little kid wanted to see you. I think she's your fan!" Thea would say before entrusting the little girl with Holly then going off.

For a while, Holly did not know what to do with her. She gets her fair share of fans, that is certain, but not someone like this. Not someone who has taken quite an interest in her. Still wearing her firesuit with her face covered, Holly looked around to see no one else in the garage area - only herself; the mechanics and other staff took a break for the day as they prepared for the race tomorrow. With that, Holly approached the girl carefully, taking care only to let her touch her hand for handshakes and nowhere else.

"Hm hm, well uhh, hello there! I am Holly Starl-"

"Haha, I know! I am your biggest fan! Before we talk, can I" get an autograph, please?"

"Why, of course! I would be delighted to!" as Holly gently took the book from the girl and signed her name on it. She wrote: "Stay happy and tend your little garden, for it will bring a lot of joy! ♥ - Holly Aceline “De Stralend en Wonderbaarlijk Licht Koningin Van Haar Mooie Universum” Aurora Symantha Vreugde Astrid Lavender Lexis Lilac Harmony Tsi. Marlie Nova Radiant Lapia Starlight"

"Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! You are such an amazing driver! I know, you just started your second season, but I know you can do it!"

"Hm hm, aww you are flattering me."

"Holly! I would like to know something if that is okay..." the girl trailed off, her curiosity definitely getting the best of her, but even then she was still a bit reserved, "Can I see your face a little? I know you wear your helmet a lot, but it would make me happy!"

"Well, hm hm, I guess that is fine for a fan!" Holly said, as she gently took off the helmet to reveal her bright, vibrant, and glowing face, along with her beautiful strands of light blue hair - all of it that results in one Holly Starlight looking like a beautiful fairy.

"You are so beautiful!" the girl exclaimed, excited. The two struck up a bit more conversations here and there, but after 15 minutes, it was time for her to go and as they shook hands, Holly put back her helmet and watched the girl giggling and cheering as she walked back to her parents. It made her feel warm inside, despite the cold body of hers. "I am very, very honored!" she thought to herself, loving the fame a little not in the usual popularity and attention sense, but because she genuinely made someone happy.

TMW Ramba Test Track, Ramba, Rinbung County, Tibet Province, The Sherpa Empire
The TMW 500
Taylor Henderson wanted more than anything else than to get around Jenna Logan. She felt she had a car capable enough to win, especially this late in the race. She felt if she could get around Jenna, she could stand a chance to get around Kai Qiang, who had a lock on the lead at that point. Maybe she could give him a bump and run, knock him out of the way and take the win. After all, that’s what short track racing, is, right?

Image

But then, she felt a tap on her rear bumper. It was Jeremiah Brooke, who was trying to get himself around the Henderson-Logan logjam. Taylor got loose, and Jeremiah got alongside. One hell of a donnybrook ensued, with Taylor sticking a middle finger out of the window of her Super Skychief towards Brooke. Hendo wasn’t about to take that nudge sitting down, and nailed Brooke right in the side. Eventually, as the two kept brawling uphill, Logan got around Taylor and Brooke. Eventually, Taylor got around Brooke, but there was purple – er, “Vylet,” paint all over the left side of her car. She had to go after Logan and then after Qiang.

Taylor put the bumper to Logan and took second away, but it wasn’t enough to catch Qiang, who took a great victory at his home track. When she got out of the car, she looked at the smeared mess on the left side of her race car and chuckled. When a reporter came up to her to ask about it, she appeared to be proud of what she had done.

“Short track racing,” Taylor said. “That’s the nature of the beast. Although, truth be told, Brooke’s lucky he didn’t get by me, that would have been a mess.”

“What do you mean?” a reporter asked.

“Think about it,” Taylor said with a smile. “The ol’ chrome horn. Lots of guys were around. Put two and two together.”

Meanwhile, as Taylor was answering the questions from the media following the race, Drake Stevenson and Chris Holmes had gotten back to the Team Blue Center. Drake finished 9th while Chris, who contended with a “stupid loose” race car all day, had to settle for a 21st place finish. But at least he was still having fun. He was running well with his Team Blue teammates, and still felt he could win one of these races sooner or later. All he needed to do was keep doing what he was doing and eventually, results would come his way.

Drake, meanwhile, was looking through his phone, to see a twii from his next door neighbor, who reported a ton of boxes in front of his garage. Drake shook his head. More plush birds, he thought.

“Think they’ll grow tired of it?” Drake asked Chris.

“Nah, people like milking shit until it gets run into the ground,” Chris replied.

“That’s the truth,” Drake chuckled. “Tell you something, I’m looking forward to this plush bird shit to be over with. Thing is, I don’t anywhere to put them. I don’t have anywhere in my house to put ‘em. I don’t know who in my family would want them – wait a second.”

“What?” Chris asked.

“Thea Alvarez,” Drake said, as if a lightbulb had gone off. “I need to get back to her, she was wondering if she could have the plush bird. I’m gonna see what I’ve got and I’ll see if she wants them.”

Drake Stevenson’s house, Poplar Prairie, Hapilopper City
The next day
As Drake pulled up on the driveway of his house, he chuckled as dozens of boxes blocked the way into the garage. He pressed his garage door button, opening the door, and he started taking the boxes into his house. At least these boxes had return addresses, from fans from across Hapilopper. As he opened the boxes, one by one, he just kept chuckling. Plush birds. More plush birds. Even more plush birds. More plush birds than he knew what to do with.

Hey, uh, @Luna_Althea, did you say Cocoabo46 needs some new friends? Because I've got some new friends for it. Like, 40 of them. I'll bring 'em to the next race.

#NSSCRA : #PlushBirds

Thea’s gonna love these, Drake thought.

As he went out to pull his car into the garage, he spotted his next-door neighbor, Kathy Greenfield, watering her plants in front of her house. Kathy had just come home from her job as a patent attorney for one of the largest law firms in Hapilopper City, and spotted Drake walking over.

“What were all those boxes?” Kathy asked. “More computer equipment?”

“Not this time,” Drake said. “For some reason, people have taken to sending me plush birds. I don’t have a lot of place for them, so I’m going to give them to a friend. What have you been up to lately?”

“Oh, nothing much, me and the hubby went out on the boat this weekend on Lake Eclipse,” Kathy said. “You ever been there?”

“Yeah, I got a boat there too,” Drake replied. “Nice peaceful place. Hell, I might go there tonight. Just crack open a bottle of whiskey, smoke a cigar and snooze in the cabin. That’s a damn good idea, Kathy. Thanks for the suggestion.”

“Don’t you have work in the morning?” she asked.

“Nah, not tomorrow. I might do some simulator work but all things considered, I make my own hours,” Drake said. “It’s a good living.”

The Green Bros. Racing Shop, Eastbay Park
A few days before leaving for Aji No Moto
For the first time in weeks, Babe Wilkes felt like he had gotten a car that could help Bart Wheeler move to the front of the field. It was going to take some doing, but he felt he had gotten something good. It took quite a few sleepless nights and some extensive studying of both automotive theory and the NSSCRA rulebook to determine what was legal, what wasn’t, and what would be blatantly found more than anything else.

As Bart arrived at the shop to review some travel information for the trip to Aji No Moto, Babe spotted him and called him over. “I want to show you something, Wheeler,” Babe said. “Something that’s going to help our chances.”

Bart and Babe went over to the car, and took a nice tour around it. Just to show what was legal. Within 10 seconds, Bart started looking at an unusual-looking compartment next to the oil tank, situated right behind the driver’s seat. “What is that?” Bart asked.

“Three extra gallons of fuel,” Babe said. “This is an emergency tank. Good for a few extra laps.”

“Uh, how legal is that?” Bart asked.

“Didn’t see anything that said I couldn’t,” Babe said. “If it’s not in the rulebook, it ain’t illegal.”

Bart looked at Babe with some trepidation. That was an invitation, he felt, to get thrown out of a race track. Either way, he was on his way to check out more of the car. Another red flag came when he saw a strange-looking lever – two of them – in the driver’s compartment.

“Those are…?” Bart asked.

“Weight loss and ride height,” Babe said. “Right in the frame rails, we’re putting in about 300 pounds of buckshot. You pull the lever – don’t do it near where the officials can see you, and don’t do it on the mainstraight – and the buckshot will come out a trap door. You’re 300 pounds lighter all of a sudden.”

“Uh, where’s the trapdoor?” Bart asked nervously. “NSSCRA officials will know what we’re doing.”

“Right at the jackstands!” Babe replied enthusiastically. “So if the NSSCRA wants to ask us where the trapdoor is, they’ll jack up the car and hide the evidence! Now then, the other lever, this will lower the car on the straights. Less drag, more speed.”

“Now, if the NSSCRA or others ask what this is…”

“Brake bias and weight jacker,” Babe responded. “I looked at the rulebook, and you can adjust the brake bias and the wedge inside your car. Perfectly legal.”

And then, Bart took a look at a strange-looking bottle located next to the ignition system on the dashboard.

“What is this?” Bart asked.

“To you, it’s nitrous,” Babe replied. “To others, it’s a second fire extinguisher. If the NSSCRA asks, we’re going to explain to them that we’ve had a real bad problem with ignition system fires. We’ll run tests and the ignition system will spontaneously catch fire. So this, Mr. Wheeler, is a safety device. Remember that. Ignition system fires.”

“OK… I hope this works.”

Aji No Moto Preview :: AOCAR Round 1

High Hopes as NSSCRA returns to "The Track that made VTM"

Image

TMW 500, TMW Ramba Test Track. Ramba, Rinbung County, Tibet Province, The Sherpa Empire :: When the schedule was released for the NSSCRA's 11th season of competition many were keen to point out the diversity of track type in the early portion of the season with some suggesting that the standings after race four could be a fairly good projection of how the regular season standings would play out at the time the checkered flag is waved at the Jalton Superspeedway.

After the traditional season opener on the Superspeedway of the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds the circuit would move onto the Road Course at Road Marietta then the TMW Ramba Test Track - the Short Track in the Sherpa Empire. With those three races now complete the diverse opening tour will round off in Aji No Moto at the Speedway style Sankyoku Triangle.

Though there would be four local drivers in the field as well as one Cocoabo, just three would be around at the finish of the season opening Tundra Falls 500 as Rockii Ezis' debut in the Badai Angin Tim flagship #60 CoCoCo Kecepatan would come to an early conclusion with a DNF. The Three Vilita & Turori Motorsports drivers would compete near the front of the field for much of the day although did not find themselves in the lead for any significant amount of time. In a final shuffle with the Valentians at the line, Centur Tiones nudged ahead to cross the line in third place just behind the battle for the race win between Jaguar Racing's Michael Stefan and former Champion Jeremiah Brooke. River 'Shark' Suzgar II who had been pushing Tiones would finish close behind in 6th place while teammate Yraaga Gilli'i was shoved aside in the last lap chaos but would hang on for a 10th place finish to mark a rare occasion as the Vilita and Turori Motorsports trio all finished inside the Top 10. Though the team's drought in the Tundra Falls 500 itself continued, victory aside it was a nearly perfect start to the season for the Vilita & Turori based team.

If it wasn't for Cocoabo #28, the trio could have done something they had never done before and put all three Vilita & Turori Motorsports cars inside the Top 10 for back-to-back races for the first time. It was a photo finish at the line as Cocoabo #28 had used the bumper on a fading Gilli'i in the final turn and got the angle onto the straight. In a photo finish, the Cocoabo #28 machine narrowly edged out Gilli'i for 10th place denying the team the rare back-to-back Triple Top 10.
Image

'The Shark' in Victory Lane at Aji no Moto's prior NSSCRA event

The dream start to the season would come to an end in the Sherpa Empire however at the TMW Ramba Test Track where none of the three Vilita & Turori Motorsports drivers managed to find their way into the Top 10. It was an all-day struggle for Centur Tiones as the team largely seemed to miss the setup on the day as even regular Short Track contender Yraaga Gilli'i failed to crack the Top 10. Experienced champion River 'Shark' Suzgar II was the only Vilita & Turori Motorsports driver to run inside the Top 5 during the race after an offset strategy saw Suzgar lead some laps early in the second half of the event but like their teammates, Suzgar faded outside the Top 10 by the finish leading the Vilita & Turori Motorsports contingent with a 12th place finish.

The result would drop Gilli'i outside the Top 10 in points with Suzgar and Tiones hanging on in 7th and 9th place respectively after three events. There was some optimism however as the circuit would make its first trip to Atlantian Oceania to the site of what many consider to be the most important circuit in the history of Vilita and Turori Motorsports, the Sankyoku Triangle in Aji no Moto.

Back in NSSCRA Season 6 the Vilita & Turori Motorsports team struggled through the first half of the regular season and only managed to qualify a single driver into the Playoffs - River 'Shark' Suzgar II. During the first round of the playoffs the team didn't post a single Top 5 finish across five entries with Suzgar barely scraping together enough points to advance through to the round of 8. With the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course one of the three Round of 8 events many in the Vilita & Turori Motorsports camp were optimistic that they could put together a strong enough package to advance to the Championship 4 at their home track but in the end they wouldn't need to thanks to the teams stunning performance in the Aji Air 400 at what was then called the Sankyoku Tri Oval. After staring just outside the Top 10, the race would ultimately be dominated by Suzgar who led the most laps and out paced Jeremiah Brooke, local favorite Chiemi Hino and a pair of Vilita & Turori Motorsports teammates to take home the victory. It was the first and thus far only time in history that all three of Vilita & Turori Motorsport's primary chartered drivers finished inside the Top 5 in the same race.

More critically, however, the victory for Suzgar would make the Vilitan driver the first in history to secure their place in the so-called "NSSCRA Championship 4". Having been sponsored by the Vilitan Tourism Board for the majority of the season, the sudden rise in stature from a mid-pack driver to a two time race winner and championship four contender immediately brought new sponsorship deals for driver and team. Centur Tiones first career victory two races later to conclude the Round of 8 brought further sponsorship interest to the team as Cocoa-bo and Toys '4' All signed on as the team put all efforts toward the Championship Race. The efforts would pay off as Suzgar would be crowned champion by virtue of being the highest finishing Championship 4 driver at the Proving Grounds - but none of it would have been possible without the teams outstanding performance in Aji no Moto.

Now, for the first time since NSSCRA Season 6, the newly-sponsored Multiversal Series returns to the Tricky Triangle in Aji no Moto. Very few teams on the grid still have notes from that event and Vilita & Turori Motorsports are sure to pull out the clipboard from their lone triple-Top 5 result in hopes to repeat the magic once more in Aji no Moto.

Lopinka National Speedway, Lopinka, Vilita :: For the first time since it was used as a qualification venue for the XIII Olympic Games demonstration events, the gates were open at the 2.02 mile Lopinka National Speedway. It would be the first time on track for the Atlantian Oceania Competitive Auto Racing (AOCAR) Stock Car Series as the series opted to open up at the neglected track outside of Vilita's colonial capital prior to moving on to back-to-back events in Aji no Moto. Local officials spent the weeks before the event cleaning up the racing surface, attempting to repair any defects and re-painting the outside walls.

While technically a superspeedway event, most expected it would race more like a large oval with strategy and tire wear expected to be at a premium. Local company Toys '4' All would step up to become the Title Sponsor of the event through their Racing Collectors line with the event to be known as the Lopinka 303 presented by Racing Collectors.

The race weekend would serve both as a first shake down and exhibition for the drivers and teams of AOCAR as well as its first points paying event. After the first Friday Practice session, drivers participated in a 30 lap no-pit exhibition event to allow their teams to assess tire wear in race conditions. The Exhibition, known as the 'Dart Dash' did not offer any points towards the standings.

The Dart Dash was won by Sultanate of Oontaz Super Speedway specialist Yasir Nasri who linked up with Glen Reid of Saint Kanye and Kyoko Fujisaki of Aji No Moto to pull clear of favored drivers Jama'obo Pegasii and Juracai Klianiota in the closing laps. A number of drivers who were not in contention or received minor damage during the race pulled into the pits and opted not to finish the Exhibition race which paid only a small prize from the Dart Motor Group to the winner and offered no championship points. Tropicorp's Anavella Ariiki who was fast in the Friday Practice session was one of the first to pull out of the event and onto the pit lane.

The next day would be reserved for Qualifying and Final Practice as track officials continued working with teams and drivers to identify any spots of repair required to ensure the circuit was ready for the grueling 303 mile event on Race Day. Anavella Ariiki took pole position with a lap time of 35.401 seconds, besting teammate Cocoabo #78 to the top spot by 0.035 seconds to become the first ever official pole winner on the AOCAR circuit.

With substantial on track time throughout the weekend, any previous fears about the potential state of disrepair at the Lopinka facility had been mitigated through the effective support of the local track staff. However, the real test would come on race day with the potential impacts of the much more stressing event still keep track workers up at night. While safety of drivers and fans was no longer a concern the quality of the racing was the biggest unknown and there remained the possibility that the inconsistent track surface could degrade and cause otherwise unexpected problems during the race including accelerated tire wear leading to flat tires and potentially accidents.

Anavella Ariiki Took the field to the green in the #88 Tropicorp Dart for the first round of the AOCAR and a large crowd cheered on as the green flag waved on the Lopinka 303 presented by Racing Collectibles.

A late yellow flag changed the complexion of the race when leaders Anavella Ariiki and Juracai Klianiota got together battling for the top spot sending Klianiota spinng off the racing surface and down into the less well maintained runoff area suffering damage to the #77 Dart. The incident took Klianiota out of contention. Despite receiving damage from the incident, Ariiki kept the #88 Dart in front of the field. On the restart, however, it was clear that the Tropicorp Dart was not in prime shape as the field positioned themselves to get past. Ariiki blocked aggressively to maintain their position and made further contact with the #37 of Jama'obo Pegasii. Both drivers made contact with the wall down the back straightaway as the field moved low to pass them. The aggressive battles up front opened the door for Team Blue's Devin Whitaker who would out pace Turorian Umbalu Trisirala to take the checkered flag (FULL RESULTS). Despite concerns about the track surface, a number of conveniently spaced yellow flags including a competition yellow flag on lap 30 allowed the majority of drivers who were not caught up in an incident to stay on the lead lap or in position to get their lap back late in the race. 29 of the 37 starters would finish the race on the same lap as the race winner.

With the proof of concept in the books, the AOCAR would make the shift to Aji No Moto where the focus would be less on the safety of the speedway and instead on the quality of the racing product. It will also be the first race in the spotlight for the AOCAR as it runs its first combination event alongside the NSSCRA's Everlong and Multiversal Series' at the Sankyoku Triangle Tyrone Tabuso in Sankyoku. At the conclusion of the Sakyoku race the AOCAR teams will pack up and head over to the Serizawa Racing Circuit for an Aji-No moto double feature and the series first Road Course event. While 32 drivers competed in the difficult opening event at the Lopinka National Speedway AOCAR officials have indicated they expect field sizes could grow to up to 40 cars for future events if the series remains successful - particularly as more NSSCRA combination events take place.

The good news was the both Beiyang's cars had finished the race more or less in one piece. There were a few scrapes and dings, but that was a natural result from lots of cars knocking around on a short track.

The bad news was that both drivers had unremarkable mid-pack finishes, and their plan to go out and meet Pharaki girls after the race didn't go well. The Beiyang people -- drivers and crew alike -- sometimes thought of Pharak as South China. But Tibet was not South China. Most locals did not speak Chinese. Or English. Some of them didn't even speak good Sherpa because their local dialects diverged from the national standard. This made it difficult to talk to girls at the local bars.

Gao and Lee did manage to strike up a conversation with a few racing fans who had traveled from Sichuan to watch the TMW 500, but it wasn't that exciting. Once again, Gao found himself apologizing because his attempts to show Lee a good time had fallen flat.

"Maybe next time you should let me take the lead," said Lee.

WHITAKER EKES OUT A WIN AT LOPINKA NAT'L SPEEDWAY
Heartbreak for #9: Ozoemena loses 25 positions en route to a 34th place finish

by Kaylyn Husker

LOPINKA - The Atlantian Oceania Competitive Auto Racing (AOCAR) stock car series kicked off this past weekend at the Lopinka National Speedway here in Vilita. The series, which hopes to serve as a feeder to the Nationstates Stock Car Racing Association's second tier Everlong Contenders series, features drivers from all around the Atlantian Oceania region, including three from and representing St. Kanye.

Taking a page from the big boys (and girls) of the NSSCRA, the AOCAR season began with a non-points exhibition event called the Dart Dash. Turorian Juracai Klianiota was fastest in practice and thus earned the pole, but it was Oontaznik Yasir Nasri, brother of former NSSCRA driver and fellow AOCAR competitor Hossem, who would win the thirty-lap shootout over Kanyean Glen Reid, one of Glorious Free Republic Motorsports' three drivers in the series, and Ajian Kyoko Fujisaki.

Team Tropicorp, who had overhauled their NSSCRA roster this offseason by borrowing a couple of Dagan drivers, showed promise in the qualifying sessions of the main points-paying event, the Racing Collectors Lopinka 303. Anavella Ariiki and Cocoabo #78, two of the team's representatives in the big leagues last season, occupied the first row; Reid, back in twenty-first, had the fastest time among the Yeezies. During the race itself though, Cocoabo #78 would end up only eleventh, while Ariiki's day would be ruined after some late contact with Klianiota, causing her to settle for twenty-eighth. As for the Yeezies, Gavin Ogden finished ninth, Jill Singletary fourteenth, and Reid thirty-second, sixteen laps down, transmission problems causing him to spend some extra time in the pits. The win, meanwhile, would go to Hapilopper's Devin Whitaker, nosing out Klianiota's teammate Umbalu Trisirala by just 0.04 second.

"Mixed bag of results for the team today, it just sucks that it was me would get the worst of it," said Reid after the race, while Ogden commented, "Top ten, I'll take it, not bad for the first race of the season. But we really could've done better than that." Singletary meanwhile gave her opinion on the other teams and drivers that she and the rest of the Yeezies will be facing throughout the season. "I feel like it's the same situation here and in NSSCRA, we both gotta watch out for Team Blue. The Vilitans and Turorians are fielding separate teams here instead of just one [Vilita & Turori Motorsports], but that doesn't matter, they'll be dangerous too. And then there's Team Tropicorp. This will be an interesting season for sure."

Another notable name in the field was Jelan Ozoemena of Banija, who had stints both in NSSCRA's top tier Multiversal Cup Series as well as Everlong. Ozoemena had a respectable qualifying time for the 303, taking the ninth spot on the grid, but he would fail to finish the race, getting classified just thirty-fourth.

Next week, the series joins the NSSCRA in heading to Sankyoku Triangle Tyrone Tabuso in Aji No Moto.

NSSCRA: Badai Angin Tim cars to display Kissan Kamikaze logos in Sankyoku
by TGF Staff

Image
SANKYOKU, AJI NO MOTO - The NSSCRA Multiversal Series will make a return to Aji No Moto since the 6th season, with the running of the Aji Air 400 at the Sankyoku Triangle Tyrone Tabuso. The race will be the fourth stop of the NSSCRA after the three rounds in Esportiva's Newmanistan, Xanneria, and The Sherpa Empire, and will be the first Atlantian Oceania round. With the return to the island nation at the Great Southwest, Kissan, a brand not seen in NSSCRA after their factory team pulled out of the competition, will return in ten cars racing among the Multiversal and Everlong series, with the current Badai Angin Kecepatan being rebadged as the Kissan Kamikaze for this weekend only.

Earlier reports from the Ajian Express that it would be the case for all competing Kecepatans this weekend, due to marketing purposes. One insider source is that the fifth Multiversal Series car will be an open entry from the Katana Racing organization for former NSSCRA driver Chiemi Hino, although this is yet to be confirmed.

Badai Angin Tim had a mixed bag of results in the Multiversal series race in Ramba Test Track last time out with Hana Bhe impressing for the team despite having no charters, placing 15th, while Fiona Sunarya finished 19th driving the #99 car. Rockii Ezis continued his rocky start in the #60 as he caught up with trouble around 2/5 race distance though he managed to recover to finish 31st, with fans starting to take note of his disappointing performances. Rusty Ibuna managed to start in this race after winning the IRACT event prior to the NSSCRA race, but crashed early in the race and did not finish.

For his team in the Everlong Series, Shania Soraya continued to impress, finishing 7th in the race at Roromania, while her teammates managed to finish midpack, with all the three drivers still in the playoff picture with three of the sixteen regular season races done. Rusty hopes that one of his cars can cross the finish line first at Sankyoku so that they would be locked into the playoffs already.

On the right is the image of #99 car with Kissan logos instead of the usual Badai Angin and Kecepatan logos, although there will be no changes in the car's engine or bodywork.

Welcome to Aji No Moto!
Ajinomoto e yōkoso
味の素へようこそ~

Brief History
After a time skip that ended Emperor Hirohito's reign over the then-named Ajian Empire, a newly-restored state named Aji No Moto emerged. From an ancient Edo-themed period with a psychotic emperor wanting to kill sportspeople shaming the Empire, a neo-industrial complex with the latest technology with a progressive prime minister came into the history and timebooks. Catching up with lost time, the Ajians prove to the sporting world that they have what it takes to compete with the multiverse's best in various disciplines.

Brief Geography
Aji No Moto is an island located in Southwest Atlantian Oceania, with capital being Joshuyo City. The island state is divided into four provinces: Shibara, located at the northeastern part of the country, Shintaki, located at the southwest part, Hayase, at the east to northeast of Shintaki, and the administrative city of Joshuyo, located between Hayase and Shibara provinces.

The Town of Sankyoku
The town of Sankyoku, which is administratively part of Shintaki province, is located at the southwestern tip of Aji No Moto, and is one of the farthest towns from the capital of Joshuyo. The town is known for its fishing industry, but it is also known as the birthplace of motor racing, as most of the illegal street car racing are being held in this town. However, high fatality rates due to the illegal activity have caused authorities to crack down on it. It is also home to the Sankyoku Triangle, one of the most unique speedways in Aji No Moto, as it only has three turns, and its medium banking have caused several high speed accidents that actually caused several fatalities, most known of which was former Sangtian racer Tyrone Tabuso, which the track is named after.

International travelers wishing to go to Sankyoku for the race weekend must go first to Joshuyo, as it is the only international airport of Aji No Moto. At peak season, like the weekend of the WGPC race held on the 16th season, several charter flights can be served from select Atlantian Oceania cities that do not have regular flights to the Ajian capital - courtesy of the Flag carrier, Aji Air. Daily direct flights can be served from San Marco, Filindostan, or from Ingbert-Borbély, Gergary. The airline plans to expand its destination to serve Ajian people and tourists alike. Upon arrival in Joshuyo, bus or truck rentals can be arranged for a 4 hour trip from the capital to the Sankyoku Triangle.

With regards to weather, the entire Aji No Moto usually have 25 percent chance of rain for the race weekend, regardless of the season the country is in.

The Aji Air 400 and the Konbini 247
The Aji Air 400 will be making its return to the NSSCRA calendar, having been absent for four NSSCRA seasons after Kissan Motorsport pulled out of NSSCRA at the end of the sixth season. The one mile track, with three turns and medium banking, will pose challenges to the drivers with tinkering their setups to ensure the best balance between speed and handling. Unlike season 6, there will be two NSSCRA events, one for the Multiversal series which is the main one, and the Everlong Contenders' Series which is the second tier one.

Aji Air will return to sponsor the race, having done the same in Season 6, where Meghan Sharpe of Cassadaigua got the pole driving the #4 car for Team Cassadaigua, while it was a landmark race for River Suzgar II, affectionally known as "Shark", who won the race, and eventually the Championship. Suzgar would have not probably won the title if he did not win this race, although he would have a chance to win the next two races of the Round of 8.

This season, it will be the fourth round and will be one's ticket to the playoffs for those not named Michael Stefan, Valentina Yadana Aye, or Kai Qiang, who already are in the playoffs by virtue of their race wins. Konbini, a 24/7 convenience store chain, is the sponsor for the Everlong race, with the race length being 247 laps which comes along with the sponsor advertisment.

Ibi Household
Joshuyo, Aji No Moto

Upon landing at Aji No Moto, Eiji was met by his family and Chiemi. Ibi asked permission from the team to have one day off so he can visit his family, which was duly approved. Upon his stay at their house, he handed souvenirs from the first three nations he visited, and once the greetings and festivities have been concluded, he discussed several topics with Chiemi. The latter told him the possibility of her racing at the Multiversal Series as she was informed that Katana Racing have requested one of the open charters for her, and is planned to drive #09 for the race in Sankyoku. Eiji had been aware of the plan, and told her he would be happy to see her race again in NSSCRA level.

She also told him the story of her AOCAR career so far, with her race at Lopinka one to forget as she was involved in an accident which caused her to finish 11 laps down to the finish. She also expressed satisfaction on her teammates, saying Kyoko has shown strong leadership qualities in the garage, while Hatsue, who finished third in that race, is a promising driver which can make it to the NSSCRA some day. Eiji asked her to eat out with him in a restaurant he usually goes to when he was racing domestically.

Upon arrival in that restaurant, Chiemi was led to a dark area, and when the lights went on, the characters '結婚して下さい?' appeared on the wall. She was shocked to see this, as she looked back, Eiji showed her an engagement ring, saying "Will you marry me?"

She said a resounding "Yes!" and embraced her now-fiancee. She thanked him for the surprise and proceeded to eat as planned.

(OOC: Continued from here)

John Watt-Samuels: ...poor bastard didn't even know what hit him! How the heck are you gonna "conquer all Tibet for the glory of the Sherpa Empire" now, Archer? How are you gonna smite your enemies when you can't even let go of the back of your yak!?

Daisy Samuels-Watt: Credit where credit is due though. Archer actually managed to hang on to his yak all the way to the finish line, unlike a certain Yak Whisperer.

John: (laughs) Oh god! Seeing Holmes eat shit was probably the highlight of the whole yak race! Right up there with Tyler freaking Linde declaring himself "King of the Yaks!" Not gonna lie, Linde probably deserves the unironic Yak Whisperer title more than Holmes does.

Daisy: Eh, if we're going to unironically crown somebody as the Yak Whisperer then I'm going to nominate Wilma Cärinthen. Real talk, I never expected her to be able to handle that yak as well as she did. She just doesn't seem like an animal-friendly kind of person to me, but here we are. What did Wilma finish in the yak race, second? Third?

John: Somewhere thereabouts. She was definitely putting a little pressure on Linde early on but fell off. Kinda like what happened to her in Road Marietta. Okay, so if Wilma is the Yak Whisperer, what does that make Gil? Prince of the Yaks?

Daisy: Nah, bro. For Gil, I dub thee "the Yak Shouter". (Mimes tapping two shoulders with a sword) I mean, have you seen the fan videos of the race? Gil was absolutely shouting up a storm while he was hanging on for dear life. Holmes can be the Whisperer cause Archer is definitely the Shouter!

John: Oh, yeah. Gil probably came up with a bunch of new curses and such during that ride.

Daisy: Oh, I think I'd love to hear them.

(A few minutes later)

John: ...now I can't believe that it took us this long to talk about the new paint schemes our boys and girls are running for NSSCRA. Now, in previous seasons, UrGa ran only one livery for each car for the entirety of the season. It made sense at the time. Nobody knows just how much of a hit—

Daisy: —or a miss.

John: —NSSCRA is going to be in the Fleftic market. Thanks, sis. Back then, only the drivers' primary sponsors were willing to go all in on the NSSCRA experiment, but once the cash started to flow, well, it just made sense for everyone to follow the money.

Daisy: What my baby brother here is trying to say is that UrGa's drivers didn't have any secondary sponsors at all. But now that every single company and person in Abanhfleft saw just how profitable NSSCRA was, everyone and their cousin is jumping over each other trying to get their names on the cars.

John: Oh, please don't start with the baby brother bullshit again. As I was saying, Gil and Wilma already had their secondary sponsors in ARTS making the leap up to NSSCRA, but Old Man Wang didn't have a secondary sponsor until now. Thankfully for him, he got a second sponsor lined up just in time for the new NSSCRA season in the form of Mykopi. You know, those 3-in-1 instant coffee things that you pour into your cup when you're in a hurry or just don't want to bother adding milk and cream or whatever into your coffee. Gotta say though, a coffee company agreeing to partner up with a guy sponsored by beer sounds a little bit strange, but they've made it work.

Daisy: Honestly though, I've tried out both Nanchang and Mykopi. Not at the same time, of course. That would just be plain stupid. And I gotta say, I didn't like either of them. I mean, I get why Mykopi would be very popular, but for just a few more nups, you've got a superior quality product with Baracoffee. And don't even get me started on Nanchang! It tastes exactly what I imagined yeast in water tastes like. No way, man. Give me Blood Moon or San Rafa anytime, but never Nanchang!

John: Okay now, calm down now, Senovara. We don't want to start a flame war or a real war over who has the best beer now, do we?

Daisy: All right, now why did you have to drag my middle name into this? You know damn well I don't like it when anyone says my middle name. Especially you, Johnny!

John: Come on, Daze. Did you really expect me to let the baby brother thing slide just like that? Besides, you can't blame me for your mother giving you a weird middle name that you'll grow to hate.

Daisy: But that's not fair! Your father didn't give you an embarrassing middle name!

John: Not an embarrassing middle name? Do you even know who Brutus is? What role he played in history?

Daisy: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he killed Caesar along with all those other guys. Look, Johnny, I get it. You love Caesar. But at least you still got named after someone famous! Do you even know who the Senovara that Mom named me after is? Of course you don't! Mom just picked up the name on a lead tablet that she found in a well back when she was in college, and for some reason she decided that it was going to be a good name for her daughter!

John: At least she made up for it by giving you an interesting first name! At least you could say you were named after a flower, Daisy! Look at me! What have I got? John? Probably the blandest, most boring name someone can come up with?

Daisy: Why don't you ask your dad about it? He's the one who named you John Brutus. Anyway, I think that's enough of us getting sidetracked. What were we talking about before we started calling each other names?

John: UrGa's secondary paint schemes, that's what. I think you were talking about how Nanchang and Mykopi don't mix.

Daisy: Well, I don't know how much Mykopi paid to have themselves not only plastered onto the sides of Dinggu Wang's car but also to have their own special livery to be run once in a while, but it must have been big enough to get Nanchang to share the spotlight.

John: You wanna know who else is willing to share the spotlight? Caduceus. Yes, I'm talking about the one and only pharmacy chain. It's not every day that the biggest retail pharmacy chain in the country suddenly decides that they want to advertise themselves on an unconventional platform like the body of a stock car, but Caduceus did it, and I heard that they were paying Gil Archer at least seven hundred thousand nups for the privilege. You think this is the first step to a potential international expansion of operations for Caduceus, Daze?

Daisy: I don't know, Johnny. On the one hand, it's certainly plausible. They're a business, after all. They'd certainly want to try their hand at exploring new markets. On the other hand, do they really need to? Caduceus are already the biggest pharmacy retailer here in Abanhfleft, so do they really need to go someplace else where they might not be as big?

John: Perhaps, perhaps. At the very least though, they've already got their name out there thanks to NSSCRA. If someone who watches NSSCRA happens to need to buy some medication, and if it so happens that there's a Caduceus Pharm that's opened up near them, then they're gonna recognize that place as something they saw in NSSCRA once or twice and they're gonna think, "If these guys were in NSSCRA then they can't be too bad."

Daisy: And it will probably be a shock to some people to see Gil driving around in something that isn't blue and pink. Because, like it or not, this idiotic "straight pride" paint scheme of his has become just that, Gil Archer's paint scheme. Ain't nobody else running a blue and pink car, and now he's made it part of his brand. Just like how, despite the number 69 finally becoming available, Gil's decided to stick with the 96 because, and I quote, "That's the number my NSSCRA brand was built upon."

John: Speaking of pink cars, she may not have a lot of pink on there right now but Wilma Cärinthen's also running her secondary sponsor's scheme for the first time this season. Sure, she's got more of an "infinite blackness of space" thing going for her, but we all know where she and Belleza got the idea from.

Daisy: Well, go on, bro.

John: I mean, to everyone listening out there, if you know what I'm talking about then you know.

Daisy: Come on, Johnny! It's 2031! Spit it out already!

John: Daze, I just wanna keep the content of our podcast as family-friendly as possible, but if you want to take it into rated-R territory then be my guest.

Daisy: All right then. What my little brother here has been trying to skirt around is that provocative commercial released by Belleza just a few months ago.

John: Provocative is definitely one way of putting it. I don't think I've ever seen so many depictions of… you know what since the last time I went to an adult website. And this was approved for public broadcast! I hate to be that guy, but this is exactly the kind of degeneracy that Matthias Green was warning us about!

Daisy: Oh, don't be such a prude about it, Johnny! Come on, just say it aloud with me. Vagi—

John: So you're telling me that you are not in any way disturbed at all by what you saw in that commercial?

Daisy: Oh, I wouldn't say that I was disturbed by what I saw. Unsettled, maybe. But Belleza has got a good message in that commercial of theirs, and that's the fact that we women don't have to keep skirting around topics like menstruation and vaginal health. They just went a little bit too much in the other direction. No need to go all "in your face" about it. Makes me glad that I prefer Amihan over Belleza. Almost.

John: Are you, um… on your, you know…

Daisy: Would it make a difference if I said yes or no?

John: You know what? Forget I asked. Let's move on. Moving on then, and along with the official images of their new liveries, UrGa also released the official names of said liveries. You remember when Gil Archer straight up called his ride "Straight Pride" and Leo Baxter went all in with "Hot Box"? Well, sadly, we didn't get a lot of that this time around. Okay, so first of all, Dinggu Wang's Mykopi ride will be called "The Real Fuel of Drivers."

Daisy: Really? That's it? Sounds more like a marketing slogan or a tagline to me. If they're going to give these schemes names then at least name them something that doesn't sound like you're trying to shove your sponsor's products down our throats! I just came up with "Bean Machine" for the alternate #79, and I can tell you that that's a damn sight better than that shit tagline they're trying to pretend is a name!

John: Okay, I guess that answers my previous question. Anyway, up next, we have Gil Archer's red and white Caduceus Pharmacy #96, and it has been dubbed as "Drive the Pain Away". Thoughts on this, sis?

Daisy: Bleh. It still sounds like some kind of marketing ploy, but at least it's not as blatant as Mykopi's.

John: And finally, for Wilma von Cärinthen's Belleza #98, she has opted to name it "V for Victory". I'm kinda glad that she didn't go for the low-hanging fruit, but if she's really gunning for that first NSSCRA victory, Wilma's still got a little bit more to go before she can park that thing in victory lane. And, just to be clear, I think that her choice of sponsors has nothing at all to do with her ability to win a NSSCRA race.

Daisy: At least it's not something like "The V Zone." Now that would have been just too on the nose. That would have been obvious and blatant advertising because it's got nothing to do with racing whatsoever.

John: Well, that takes care of the multiversal scene. Let's go local now, where the organizers of the Olistan International Speedway are preparing once again for the 71st running of the Olistan 500, the race that opens the Abanhfleft Racing Truck Series championship…

(A few minutes later)

John: ...and speaking of Koshiro-san, this just in: Koshiro Kawai has officially applied for one of the two open charters in the Aji Air 400. He's going to drive a Luxur Byzant provided to him by UrGa, he's going to drive #85, and he's going to run his standard Sarimanok Mayin Airlines sponsorship.

Daisy: No way, really? How did he manage to do that? How did he manage to convince both UrGa and Duisburg to do it? Whoa, wait a minute. Do you think this means what I think this means?

John: I don't know, sis. What do you think this means? And what do you think I think about what this means?

Daisy: I don't know. Maybe it's just a crazy thought, or maybe this is what's really going to happen. But I think Duisburg are about to enter NSSCRA as well!

John: Really? You think they're really gonna do that?

Daisy: I mean, why else would Duisburg relaunch their Ascension sedans? They released their concept for the sixth generation Ascension at around the same time NSSCRA 9 started, and now they've had two years to develop that concept into something that's both street-legal and viable for stock car racing. And Duisburg know they need somebody to get some experience driving an actual stock car instead of just a truck like a Picayune or some other shit, and who else to do it but the defending ARTS champion?

John: Well, if that was Duisburg's plan then why would UrGa allow Koshiro to drive one of their cars? Surely Koshiro would go back to Duisburg with a lot of knowledge about the Byzant that UrGa don't want to go out there.

Daisy: They could just give him Hossem [Nasri]'s chassis though. Just for shits and giggles. Just like they did with David Clarke. Our David Clarke, not the one from Sword Island or wherever. Probably why he ended up crashing out of the TMW 400 and a potential charter spot. Granted, he was in the middle of a sandstorm, but Koshiro made it out of there alive. Okay, maybe alive is the wrong word. Koshiro got through the sandstorm unscathed while a lot of other people got collected. And it's not even a Big One as well; everyone just seemed to crash out in ones and twos despite it being a goddamn short track.

John: And let's not forget, Koshiro got pole there as well! I don't know what car he used in Ramba, maybe a Dart or a Chad [short for Chadwick] or a Beiyang. He's definitely got a future in stock cars if he wants to take it.

Daisy: And you know what? There's something I just realized. With a name like that, Koshiro's gonna fit right in at Aji No Moto. Wasn't he actually of Ajian descent or something?

John: I think he is, maybe. He may be from Markovsky, and there are a lot of Flardanians and Hinodejin there, but I think it's safe to say he's got Ajian blood in his veins, even if he's a bit secretive with his personal life and whatnot. Well, whatever the case, we here at the Motoring Along Podcast will definitely watch Koshiro Kawai with great interest as he takes on the big challenge that is NSSCRA.

Daisy: And that should do it for our coverage of local and international stock car news. We move on to open wheelers, and UrGa Motorsports Division have announced that they have secured a deal with…

Richard Irwin's Charged Podcast: Barnstorming across Queensl

Postby Sword Island » Sat Jul 24, 2021 6:00 pm

Richard Irwin: Welcome to the 2nd season the Charged Podcast with me Richard Irwin, and Jamie Scott on production
Jamie Scott: So who's on the show this week Rich?
RI: Well I'll give you a hint: he's the winningest crew chief in SISCS history... introducing Adam Reece
Adam Reece: It's a pleasure to be on here with you guys
RI: The list of things you have done is incredible, but here's what I want to learn. How did you come around to racing in the first place?
AR: Well it started when my dad brought my brother his first go-kart in like... 83 or 84.
RI: So were you the spotter or the crew chief for him?
AR: I did a bit of everything. I worked on the car, spotted for him, hell I even was the accountant. So eventually we got chased out of go-karts-
RI: -what do you mean chased out?
AR: We were just winning everything. The series we were in went to a lot of smaller ovals, like quarter miles. And I had figured out how to get the weight balanced to the left of the car, so we were basically unbeatable on the ovals.
RI: Now I'm curious a bit about what if anything you did to the engine of the car?
AR: I am comfortable telling you everything the engine was legal... except the supercharger.
JS: Where in the world would you get a supercharger from?
AR: I rigged it from the air pump.
RI: How do you even come up with that?
AR: I remember reading a book and it mentioned how everybody back in the 50s and 60s would rig up a supercharger from the air pump to their cars, so I tinkered with the engine bay for a bit and just made the thing
RI: So how long did you run that?
AR: Every weekend because they could never find it. The tech guys would only check the displacement of the engine and the restrictor plate. Other than that everything else was in the gray area.
RI: So where did you guys go after your go-karting days were over?
AR: Well we sold the car and the engine to somebody and bought a late model chassis from Henry Goldman, who was moving up to race National series cars in 87. From there we just pinballed around Queensland for a few years and we raced anything we could get our hands on. Late models, sprints, street stocks, National series cars. You name it and we probably raced it at some point during that 4 or 5 year stretch.

The Team Blue Center, Sankyoku Triangle Tyrone Tabuso, Sankyoku, Aji No Moto
The morning of qualifying for the Aji Air 400
Drake Stevenson took a look at about 50 plush dolls in the Team Blue Center and started wondering just what in the hell he would do with all of these. He had sent a message to Thea Alvarez if she wanted some, and he thought about just who he might want to give others to. He looked at a television screen and saw a news report from last week’s race and reporters interviewing Kai Qiang following the race. This seemed like a fantastic idea. Qiang had a young daughter, and Drake figured she might like one or more of those plush dolls.

Only there was one problem. Chris Holmes was lazily poking at his phone not far away. Drake figured that if Chris was here, no way Qiang would want to even as much as pop his head in. So Drake had a goal – to get Chris out of the Team Blue Center for about an hour to give Qiang some time to come in, take whatever he wanted to take, and leave. Sure, there was no guarantee he’d even show up, and Drake figured Qiang would expect some shenanigans, but all this was about was plush toys.

“Holmes, you doing anything?” Drake asked.

“Not until qualifying,” Chris replied. “My schedule is completely free.”

“OK, just curious,” Drake replied.

“Why’d you ask?” Chris asked suspiciously. “You have something planned?”

“No, I was just curious if you had anything planned today,” Drake responded.

“Nah, nothing’s come up,” Chris said. “I mean, qualifying’s later, I’ll go out for that, but I’m gonna stay here if I’m not on track. Nobody’s interviewing me or anything, so I figure I’ll say here and do whatever. Angie’s not here either, so can’t do that.”

Unfortunately, Angela Parker, his girlfriend, had been called into work this weekend, so consequently, she couldn’t travel with Team Blue for this weekend’s race in Aji No Moto. It was a shame, since customers at King Bros. Coffee tended to be even douchier than normal on the weekends. They had nowhere to be, so they wanted to take even more of their time there, and she hated that. So Chris had nothing to do.

“Be right back,” Drake said to Chris, as he started out of the Team Blue Center. As he went out the front door, a couple of fans spotted him and asked for his autograph and a picture.

“Walk with me if you got the right credentials,” Drake said to the fans. “I gotta go somewhere, but come along. I can’t really stop.”

So Drake took selfies with fans and signed their stuff as he walked over to the NSSCRA garage. It was there that he found Thomas Kesselring, one of Team Blue’s chassis guys, working on Taylor Henderson’s car. Not far away, Hendo and her crew chief Pat Howard were conversing over the right setup for her 73 car, which was carrying the orange Sharpe’s Coffee colors this week. Kesselring was sipping on a cup of coffee, looking at tire temperature and pressure readings, while reviewing a setup sheet, which had been taped to the passenger side window of the car.

“Yo, Kess,” Drake called out. “Got to ask you a question.”

“Yeah?” Thomas replied, barely looking up from his tire sheets.

“You wouldn’t happen to know where to find a long weight, would you?” Drake replied.

Taylor, Pat and Thomas all stopped what they were doing and looked over at Drake. All three of them knew what Drake was talking about, and wondered if he had been duped.

“You?” Pat said incredulously. “Of all the people, you, the most experienced of all the drivers we’ve got, and you were the one that fell for that? The ol’ long weight gag? Who sent you out here?”

“Look, chief, I know the long weight gag,” Drake said, trying to explain himself. “But Holmes? He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that’d know it. I’m trying to find a way to get him out of the Center for a bit of time so I can try to get Qiang in there to pick out whatever plush toy he wants.”

Thomas rolled his eyes and started looking at his tire sheets again. You could hear an audible “aw, fuck.”

“Don’t waste my time, Stevenson, I’m in the middle of something important,” Thomas grumbled. “I am not involved in this plush toy bullshit. OK? Fuck off. I’m working.”

Thomas showed Drake the tire sheet as he shooed him away.

“Right rear looks hot,” Drake quipped. “Hendo, you want one of those plush toys?”

“Oh, NOW you ask me,” Taylor snapped. “GO. AWAY. You should have asked me last week instead of going to Alvarez and whoever else.”

Drake turned and left the 73 garage, where more fans, as well as HTN’s Jeff Van Houten, had congregated. Van Houten, a pit reporter for the network, decided to ask Drake for an interview.

“I’m in the middle of something, but if you can help me… is that on? Are you live?” Drake asked.

“No,” Van Houten replied.

“Wonderful,” Drake said. “You know anyone that could waste Chris Holmes’ time for about 45 minutes to an hour?”

“Look in the media room,” Van Houten replied. “There’s some newspaper guy, I think he’s with the Buckridge Sentinel, just started and he might be looking for stories. Lovely dude, too. Get him.”

“Cool, thanks,” Drake replied as he walked off towards the media center at the Sankyoku Triangle Tyrone Tabuso, signing a couple of autographs along the way.

The media center at the track was a slow affair at that point. Members of the NSSCRA’s traveling media were hanging out with PR representatives and NSSCRA media services, while some of the international broadcasters were discussing how they would present their broadcast of the race to their audience. In the middle of browsing the web, meanwhile, was Travis Stanford of the Buckridge Sentinel. He wasn’t up to much, just looking for something to do.

“Yo, you with the Sentinel?” Drake asked.

“Yeah, what do you need?” Travis asked.

“Your help with something,” Drake replied as he sat down. “I’m Drake Stevenson, by the way, I drive for Team Blue. I need to find a way to get Chris Holmes out of the Team Blue Center for about 45 minutes to an hour. How familiar are you with Chris Holmes and Kai Qiang?”

“A little bit, why?” Travis said.

“Well, I’m trying to find a way to get Kai Qiang over to the Center because I need to talk to him about something,” Drake replied. “Problem is, Kai Qiang hates Chris Holmes because of an incident a few years ago involving a blue iguana. I’m trying to find a way to get Holmes out of the Center for about 45 minutes to an hour so Qiang can come in, take care of what we need to take care of, and then he can leave without incident. Can you help me with this?”

“Sure, um, how can I help you?” Travis asked.

Drake gave Travis a business card that contained the number of Team Blue PR representative Shawna Buckley. “Call this number, explain to her what’s going on. I’ve already briefed her,” Drake said. “Tell her you want to do an interview with Holmes about how he’s handling his comeback to the sport. I’ll buy you a really nice bottle of whiskey and a big-ass steak if you do. Deal?”

“Sure,” Travis responded. “My editor was on me about finding a local angle anyway, so, great. Thank you, Stevenson.”

“Thanks a bunch,” Drake said.

During its sixth season, the NSSCRA visited the Sankyoku Tri-Oval in Aji No Moto for the first race of the second round of the Chase. Vilitan driver River Suzgar won what was then known as the Tyrone Tabuso Memorial 400 Presented by Aji Air to earn a spot in the Championship Four (and later claim the title). St. Kanye's Jeremiah Brooke was the runner-up in that race, while Glorious Free Republic Motorsports teammate Thea Alvarez took seventh.

Now the world's premier stock car series is in its eleventh season, and they will return to what is now called Sankyoku Triangle Tyrone Tabuso after a very long absence. Jeremiah has in fact not stepped foot in Aji No Moto since his last race there, but Thea was there during the break between the eighth and ninth seasons to attend a cousin's wedding. Sage Caldwell, the third GFR member, joined the team in the seventh season, thus this will be his first visit to the country. The same goes for Daryl Calhoun and Pyotr Lavrentiev of GFR's Everlong Series affiliate Skip Stiller Speedworks.

The Yeezies spent a day shopping and sightseeing in the Ajian capital of Joshuyo before hopping onto the team bus to Sankyoku. There they stayed in a small inn, and since it was a fishing town, had their fill of fresh trout, tuna and salmon (and in the case of the adventurous Sage, blowfish). They went sightseeing and even boating; Jeremiah put the new Ajian waterproof camera he bought to good use.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were all over before anyone knew it, and suddenly it was time for the race weekend. The GFR trio were chilling in the garage just before the qualifying sessions when Thea remembered she had to do something. "Time to pick up the plushies from Drake," she said, getting up from her chair and grabbing a box of cookies that she'd bought at the nearest Konbini.

"What's with the cookies?" asked Sage.

"Oh, I just couldn't let Drake give me something without giving him something else in return. And I thought, why not cookies? Everyone loves cookies, right Sage? Riiight?"

"Yeah, sure, whatever you say."

"Alrighty then. Laters!" Thea said before heading off to the Team Blue Center to meet up with the Hapiloppian driver.

"Is she always this childish?" Sage asked Jeremiah once the female racer was out of earshot.

Jeremiah took a bite from his plate of fish and chips before answering. "Yeah, ever since we've known each other. I don't mind though, she's like the little sister I never had. You may think she's annoying at first, but once you get to know her, she's really sweet and affectionate."

Over at the Beiyang garage, Ricky Lee was in a bit of a sour mood. Last week, his and Gongming Gao's attempts to score chicks in Ramba fell flat, whereas this week, he found himself in one of the world's hotspots for illegal street racing just when he had already given up illegal street racing. Ricky ranted to Gao, "I miss the thrill of winning without any rules, the excitement of trying not to get caught! I'm itchin', man! And NSSCRA isn't enough to scratch that itch - I want to be a rebel again, so bad! Aaargh!"

Little did he know that Gao, who was wearing wireless earbuds the entire time, didn't hear a single word he said.

About a half hour later, Thea returned to her teammates, a large box in hand. "Tada! Look at what I scored!"

"Damn, just how many birds did Drake give you?" asked Sage.

"Twenty."

"Twenty? Why would you even need that many friends for Cocoabo #46?" asked Jeremiah.

"I don't. I'll just keep five. Fourteen will be raffled off to fans...."

"That's just nineteen."

"Let her finish, J."

".... and the last one, I'll hold on to until your and Stacie's baby comes."

"Aww, Thea, you shouldn't have," Jeremiah said. "Told you, Sage, she could be sweet and affectionate."

His phone then chimed, notifying him of a text he just got. "Hey guys, quals are in fifteen minutes, we best get ready."

"I'm ready!" Thea exclaimed as she picked out which five plush birds she was going to keep. "I'm so happy, nothing's gonna get me down today!"

"You were saying?" Sage turned to Thea, and then back to her #46 Chadwick, which had a smashed front end after it ran over some fluid on the track and then hit a wall in qualifying. She will be using a backup car for tomorrow's race.

"Okay, yeah, that sucks, starting at the tail of the field and all.... but I'll get through it. I mean, I'll try my best. I've had success here, after all. Top ten. Plus we could work together.... you're what, forty-first?"

"Gee, thanks for reminding me."

Jeremiah, unlike his teammates, had a great qualifying effort. He looked set to take the pole, but later runs by Dinggu Wang and Taylor Henderson knocked him down to third. He approached Hendo just as she was getting out of her car after her run. The two had battled hard at the end of last week's race, to the point that their cars made contact and the Hap gave the Yeezie the bird (not the plush variety, though). Despite this, Jeremiah was quick to forgive Hendo, knowing that she could get really fired up, especially when the win is on the line. "Hey, congrats on the pole, and good luck," he said to her before walking away.

Filindostan's Rusty Motorsport showed why they were one of the Everlong Series' top teams, as their three drivers dominated the Konbini 247. Shania Soraya, Barnabas Mate and Mercy Binayas were all in the lead pack, fighting for the potential win late in the race. Daryl Calhoun was also in the mix, but was getting no help - he was a Chadwick driver stuck in a sea of Kissans (actually rebadged Badai Angins, but whatever).

Daryl found a gap between Shania and Barnabas, but it closed before he could get to it. He then tried the inside, making contact with Mercy, only for her to show none of her namesake and bump him back. No way is he going to sit there and do nothing while the Rusty cars decided among themselves who among them would sit where at the podium. so he kept going at it for the next few laps. Once again he appeared to make a pass at Mercy on the inside, but when she blocked his lane, it created a space between herself and Shania. Only two laps remained this time. Daryl realized that time was running out, so he maneuvered through, not caring that it was now four wide. He then shifted to the outside just before they entered turn two, leapfrogging all three Rusty cars at once.

At the white flag, Daryl was still ahead of the Filindo trio, but only barely. Both their fans and the local ones let out a collective groan as the Kanyean widened his narrow lead, went through turn one without any issues, then turn two, then turn three. Shania, Mercy and Barnabas were in hot pursuit all the while, but Daryl successfully held them off to steal the win and barge into the Chase.

"That was totally poggers, my man!" said Daryl's crew chief Liuyong Xu on the radio. "You slayed Rusty's cerberus, and now we're back in the title hunt, baby!" added spotter Duncan Payne. "Thanks guys, thanks to all your help. Let's f--king go!"

Pyotr Lavrentiev, the other SSS member, also had a good day. He finished eighth, but could have been seventh if Val Constantine hadn't beaten him to the line by just 0.001 second.

"Well, well, well, look who the cat dragged in," Guillermo Archer muttered as a familiar face arrived at the Sankyoku Triangle paddock. "Koshiro motherfucking Kawai!"

"And if it isn't the one and only Bastard of Bohuda!" Koshiro Kawai said back as he and Archer shook hands. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but man, have I missed seeing your ugly face! Especially when it's behind me!"

"Don't get used to it just yet, man," Gil said with a witty smile. "I may be focused on NSSCRA now instead of ARTS but I'm still faster than you!"

"Hah! We'll see about that!" Koshiro said.

"But seriously though now," Gil asked in a more serious tone, "what are you doing here? I'd have thought that you would be in Manilaonilao right now, you know, what with you being the defending champion and all. Shit, didn't you miss out on Olistan for Ramba too?" The Olistan 500, the first race of the Abanhfleft Racing Truck Series championship, usually happens alongside the first few races of NSSCRA. In this case, the 2031 Olistan 500 happened at the same time as the TMW 500 in Ramba, and because Koshiro Kawai had gone off to Ramba to take part in the TMW 400 IRACT race for the chance to win one of the two open charters on offer there, he was unable to take part in the ARTS race. The second race for ARTS was in Manilaonilao, and since it coincided with the Aji Air 400 and Koshiro had submitted an application for one of the two charters, that was the second ARTS race in a row that Koshiro Kawai had missed out on. And since he was the defending champion from the 2030 season, Koshiro was definitely starting his title defense on the back foot. But judging by the grin on Koshiro's face when Gil asked him about it, Koshiro didn't seem to be too fazed about the whole thing.

"Hey, man, if you could do it then why couldn't I?" Koshiro replied. "Besides, I've been in ARTS for what, twelve seasons already? In twelve of those seasons, I've been in the Chase nine times, and out of those nine times, I've had seven straight times that I made it all the way to the Championship 4. And I finally won the championship at Selid last season, so now maybe you can say that I'm looking for a new challenge."

"Well, if it's a challenge you want then you definitely came to the right place," Gil said. "NSSCRA is definitely a challenge. It's gonna throw challenges at you that you never thought possible. You remember Ramba from last week? You remember that cliff that was off to the side? Well, in NSSCRA, we go right up to the cliff. That cliff is part of the goddamn track itself. You ain't never gonna see anything like that in Abanhfleft."

"Really now?" Koshiro asked. "That must be an experience and a half!"

"It is! You should try it sometime. Hey, Wilma!" Gil shouted. "Check out who decided to drop in."

"Hey, Koshiro, nice to see you!" Wilma von Cärinthen said as she made the short walk from her garage to Archer's. Before, it took her just a few steps to do that because their garages were literally next to each other, but now that there was a #97 in the Cup series (Celeste of Yesopalitha), Wilma actually had to go on a short walk in order to reach the #96 garage. "So NSSCRA actually approved your charter application. Nice," she said. "So how would you describe your first day of NSSCRA?"

"I'm surprised, actually, but in a good way," Koshiro replied. "It's just like I never left Abanhfleft. You got the friendly teams like those Yeezie GFR drivers and the Haps, and there's also those quiet and secretive teams like your neighbor over there." Koshiro pointed at the garage of the #97, where the black, white, and red unsponsored car of Celeste was barely visible, and not a single crew member appeared to be working on it while the two garages on either side of it were hives of activity.

"Yeah, the Yesopalithans have stuck to themselves mostly since the season started," Wilma said. "I don't know for how many races you're gonna be around this season but you'll get used to it eventually. There's always at least one team every season who tries to keep to themselves as much as possible."

Koshiro nodded his head again. Then Wilma moved closer to him and asked in a low voice, "So, what do you think of the Byzant?"

"It's a big car," Koshiro replied. "Certainly a damn sight bigger than our trucks. Handling's a bit loose for my taste, but that's why we have practice, right?"

"How's it compare to the Duisburg?"

"Apples and oranges, Wilma," Koshiro shrugged. "You just can't compare a sedan-style car to a pickup."

"Really?" Wilma leaned even closer to Koshiro and whispered, "Duisburg haven't let you test drive their new Ascension yet?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Koshiro asked, his tone now slightly hostile.

"Come on now, Koshiro," Wilma said. "We all know why you're really here. Maybe that 'searching for a new experience' story of yours can work on the likes of Archer, but you're not fooling me. You're Duisburg through and through, Koshiro! There's just no reason they'll let you drive an UrGa car if it wasn't for something like gathering useful information like how stock cars are supposed to handle and such."

"Is that seriously why you think I'm here?" Koshiro asked. The hostility in his voice was now gone, and when he next spoke he sounded like he had been hurt by Wilma's words. "All right then, believe what you want. If you want to think that I'm here to help Duisburg build a new stock car then keep thinking it. I've already told you and Archer why I'm here, and if you're expecting me to change my tune anytime soon then I suggest that you don't hold your breath." Koshiro then turned around and walked back to his garage in a huff.

"Koshiro, wait!" Wilma shouted as she chased after him. "I was just kidding!" But Kawai was already gone, disappeared back into his garage to do whatever he wanted to do. That was definitely not how she had expected this conversation to turn out. She was honestly just kidding when she said that Koshiro could be gathering trade secrets about the stock car version of the Luxur Byzant in preparation for the release of the new Duisburg Ascension, and Cärinthen had not expected Kawai to react so strongly to what she thought was just a friendly jibe.

"Damn it," Wilma muttered, and she turned around and went back to her own garage.

"Hey, Leo, whassup! It's your boy Guillermo," Gil Archer said as he made a call. "Come on, man! It's Guillermo Archer! From UrGa? NSSCRA? Remember me? I know that you remember me, Leo. You don't just forget someone like me."

"Oh, yeah, now that kind of self-confidence I definitely remember," Leonidas Baxter, retired basketball superstar and racecar aficionado (and former occasional stock car driver) said. "What the hell are you doing calling me right now, man? Don't you know it's…" Leo looked at his clock to check the time. "...four in the morning here in Rosenpfelblatz right now?"

"Yet you sound like you're wide awake already," Gil retorted. "How's Junior?"

"Waking me up at four in the morning, that's what," Leo replied. "Kid's just a bouncing ball of energy that never gets exhausted. I just tucked him in, and you just caught me before I tucked in. And I know that you're not the kind of person to call just for chitchat. So why are you calling me, Gil?"

"Remember Drake Stevenson? From Hapilopper?" Gil asked.

"Sure," Leo nodded. "Big fun guy?"

"One and the same. I don't know if you've heard, but after Drake smashed up that bird in Tundra Falls, somebody thought it would be a good idea to give him a bird plushie in time for Road Marietta. Drake loses his shit about the bird there and demands to know who in the paddock would have the bright idea to do such a thing, and shit starts to fly between him and the Jaguar guys."

"Yeah, yeah, I heard about it," Leo nodded. "Surprised me, too. I mean, Team Blue and Jaguar Racing? They're just not the teams you'd expect to be slinging shit at each other, especially this early. But what's this got to do with you and me?"

"Well, Drake got a boatload of plushie birds after his meltdown in Marietta, and now he needs help disposing of them," Gil replied. "Drake invited Thea from GFR over to get some new friends for her Cocoabo friend, and now I've got an idea about asking around for a bird or two myself. You know, for my little one."

"Oh, yeah, man," Leo said. "How's your kid doing now? How old is he now? Two?"

"Two and a bit, yeah," Gil nodded. "I got him a yak toy from Ramba, but Allen's moved on to birds now. Oh hey, here comes Thea now. Hey, Thea!" Archer called out.

"Say hi to Thea for me, man," Leo said with a smile.

"Leo Baxter says hi," Gil added. Thea nodded her head, but Gil wasn't sure if the young Yeezie driver had heard him in the chaos of the garages. "So, you want me to pick up a bird or two for Junior?" Gil asked Leo.

"You know what, yeah! Go ahead!" Leo said. "Make sure you get at least two, so Alex and I can say that we both got Junior a bird each. On second thought, make it three. I'll never hear the end of it from Miranda if she doesn't get a bird of her own too." Miranda was the eldest child of Leo and his wife, retired football superstar Alexandra Rousseau.

"All right, three birds for the Baxters, gotcha," Gil nodded. "Catch you later." He ended the call, just in time for his arrival at the garage of the #81 car, driven by the one and only Drake Stevenson. The garage was busy with activity, but once Gil arrived at the garage, everything stopped and everyone wearing blue and orange firesuits looked at him.

"All right, everybody calm down," Gil said. "I come in peace. And also for some birds."

Sankyoku Triangle Tyrone Tabuso
Sankyoku, Aji No Moto

Hana and Fiona were sitting together at the stands spectating the Everlong race, signing autographs and taking pictures with some of the Ajian crowd. The two were somewhat well-known in Aji No Moto despite the pair only visiting the nation for the first time. This was due to sponsor Descension's Girls Will Code initiative where one of the beneficiaries were a group of students in Sankyoku. When they had some free time, they talked about the stuffed toy debacle that Drake Stevenson faced some races ago, and Fiona joked about her putting at least one stuffed toy in her car to help her finish races better.

Qualifying has not been her forte the past season, having fared worse with more starts in Season 10 than in Season 9 when she raced part-time, and this trend seemed to continue at the first race at Tundra Falls, but her three recent qualifying runs were better than expected, qualifying the #99 car 12th fastest for tomorrow's race. She however had trouble in closing out her good starting position with a 19th place at Ramba, as this result helped her climb a few spots in the drivers' standings, but not good enough for her to make a sniff in the playoff picture with only 13 races remaining in the regular season.

Hana laughed at her teammate's suggestion, although she told her that her boyfriend, Rod, had given her a stuffed toy the last time they met. However, it is so large it would not fit in her car if she decides to do the same as what Fiona did. Fiona told her to 'tell Rod to make a miniature version of the stuffed toy so she can put it in her car as well'. Hana on the other hand, is in the playoff contention after three rounds, with her consistent finish within the top 20 helping her cause. Although she would start the race in Sankyoku tomorrow from 25th, she is confident she can make up spots to contend for a top 15 or even a top 10 finish. In spite of this, her car is not among of the chartered entries, and a poor qualifying which can cause her to miss races can give her some headaches come the last round of the regular season in Jalton.

"By the way, Hana, I replied on a tweet from a Filindo fan bashing Rockii." The Vilita & Turori driver who moved to Badai Angin Tim this season, is currently having a rocky start of the season, as he was the worst of the three BA Tim cars in qualifying, with his 32nd place even worse than Eiji Ibi's 30th place in his home track. "Then the basher asked me if I'm okay with being replaced by Shania or by Mercy next season. I didn't answer him back since I don't know what to do and I don't want it to affect my performance." The younger driver admitted to Hana her dilemma.

"Just don't mind him, and just show your stance to him via your drive." Hana advised Fiona to keep calm despite the adversities she is facing. "Mercy was actually agitated last season that I got lucky to keep my spot in the main team. I'll let her be, although it would be difficult to keep our drives if the team wanted to keep Rockii for the time being due to his backing, and either of the three Everlong drivers win the title at Tundra Falls months later."

The two remained on the seats as the Everlong race comes to a feisty conclusion with three Filindo drivers contending for the race win.

Rusty was sitting in one of the team's haulers watching the progress of his three cars in the Everlong race. He was drowsy at the time as he had lack of sleep as he attended the AOCAR race where his fiancee, Kyoko Fujisaki, won the race. They celebrated and spent a night out together, and the aftermath showed as he was almost sleeping at the early stages of the race. He took a sip of the coffee he had for hours, and started to become tense when the closing laps of the race ensued, with all his three drivers were contending for race victory against the formidable Chadwick of Daryl Calhoun. It took an impressive maneuvering from the Kanyean driver to get past the trio in one corner, which could have ended in disaster if even one of the four made a crucial error in the move.

Rusty pounded his fists in the table after Calhoun opened a significant gap from his trio of drivers by the time the chequered flag was shown, but he coolly accepted the result of having his cars finish 2-3-4 for the second time in three races. He is confident all three drivers can make it into the playoffs, and started to entrust duties to his deputies as he started to focus for his WGPC season, with him possible returning to the races in Filindostan if there are no conflicts between the NSSCRA and WGPC schedules.

THE ROCKET REPORT

LI CONFIDENT WITH TEAM DESPITE RESULTS

By Taylor Larson,

The results have not been there for Liangmei Li after leaving the Proving Grounds to open the season. She was 8th in the Tundra Falls 500, giving optimism that she would have a strong season, but since then she has struggled. Li, however, is not worried. “The team is doing fine, we have all of the right people here, and I am glad that we have people here that want to be here. Rockii Ezis, you know, he was bringing this team down. Coming from that place with the birds that drive. I didn’t feel like he was a very good teammate. Right now, we have things in a much better place.” That was good to hear from Li, in a way, since she was known for the swagger with The Sherpa Empire. Later in the interview, Li did say, “I am glad there is only one driving bird in the races now. Obviously, they knew that bringing in Cassadagans would be better than having birdbrains behind the wheel.”

Li also may have been a little distracted in the TMW 500. “Look, I had a lot going on when I went back to my real home. There were a lot of people that wanted to hang out me, and a lot of places that I wanted to go and enjoy. I thought we could be better in the race, but it is what it is. The results will be there for Rocket Motorsports. There is no where else that I want to be than right here.”

Elsewhere on the team, Travis Barkley continues to struggle to get into races and Ashley Matthews is making the adjustment to running full time in NSSCRA once again. EverLong results have been abysmal. There was some talk that Rocket Motorsports was hoping to bring in a veteran driver to get behind the wheel of the #24, but were unable to come to terms with such a person. Barkley briefly drove for the team a few years ago.

The Valentians – Meet the AOCAR Valentians!

With the qualification wrapped up for the Main Series, along with the Qualification and Race results done for Everlong, they will be discussed at a later time. For now, the Valentians were definitely happy to add two more drivers into their roster - into AOCAR. AOCAR is an Atlantian Oceania Competitive Auto Racing Stock Car Series, for the region of Atlantian Oceania. Since Alanis Star, an autonomous region of Valentine Z, has a small stake in the region as an interdimensional entity, the Valentians were allowed to send in some drivers of their own. Enter 2nd Cpt. Annabelle Grace Whitney Zoey Luminisa “Femeia Simțurilor Extraordinare” Claire Estevi Danielle Tricia Kate Carrie Kora Costiniu Frumoasa Emiliana Georgeta Melanie Ioannes Corinna and 2nd Warrant Officer Adrian Deston Emile Immanuel Warren Jack “Шокер” Sammie L. Marston Josyp Oleksandr Mykola Leonid Henadij Eduard Mikhael Wr. Kostyantyn Volodymyrovych Dudnyk, or Annabelle Grace Melanie Ioannes Corinna and Adrian Deston Kostyantyn Volodymyrovych Dudnyk for relative shortness. One drives her #41 car, the other drives his #50. So far, the two have seen a mix of favorable and passable results - at times, they were able to get into even as far as Top 10 and other times, they have seen their own falters. For the first-timers in international ground, they were not that bad, but need more practice. Perhaps in the form of simulations, or simply driving more and more until they are good at it. Annabelle and Adrian currently stand at 14th and 25th points-wise, with the latter trying to climb up faster.

Annabelle Grace Melanie Ioannes Corinna is a woman with extraordinary perceptions, someone that can literally see it all, hear it all, and sense it all. Born to a somewhat ordinary family in Brașov, Romania as the only child, Annabelle had a relatively normal upbringing for as a child, always seeing the world around with better clarity and colors than those around her. At first, her parents along with her teachers and her friends, dismissed it as something that a normal kid or someone of that age goes through - to be able to see the world in much more vivid colors as an expression of a child's innocence. It would also be said by her parents that Annabelle just might have a sixth sense that lets her see beyond the material world, and perhaps into spirits and ghosts. The restless nights she had would have been diagnosed as ordinary insomnia and subsequently would be given aids to fall asleep. On top of that, due to her constant complaints about her room being too bright for her eyes, her parents would redecorate her room to be as darkly painted as possible. It helped for a brief moment of time, though she would still see dim shades and blobs of colors here and there. These would carry on for a few more years until her 9th Birthday, to which her parents and those around her has finally saw what Annabelle sees with her own eyes. Long story short, Annabelle can see part of the EM spectrum that is as low as microwaves, to something as high as high-UV to low-X-rays. In fact, when she took the X-ray examination, she stated that it was too bright for her and that it gave her a headache for a while due to the brightness involved with the equivalence of staring at the sun. In her car, she is at the maximum permissible height. Outside, she measures 16' 10" (513.08 cm), physically fit and able than most.

Adrian Deston Kostyantyn Volodymyrovych Dudnyk is an Ukrainian man born in the Pre-Valentian Era. Calm and determined, he was in the middle of studying for his Masters in Electronics and Physics when he was called in to serve in the Ukrainian Army, in order to protect his own and his motherland, and ultimately part of the Eastern Hemisphere initiative. Behind the lines, he served as a Private for a few months, before being promoted to Sergeant, then to become a Warrant Officer. The superiors of Adrian saw potential in the man himself, citing that “Your electrical skills certainly would have a lot more use into our program,” in the letter that was handed out to him. With no way out, along with an added benefit of not dying on the front lines, Adrian decided to take up his duties as an electrician and maintenance head for a military base at Pripyat. He would quote this experience as “It doesn’t really matter if you are going to have a Masters at it; if you know that a short circuit can happen, you are qualified.” After a series of events and antics involving another spy woman of the days (one Jolyn Maxine Helen Caulfield Ceeta), Adrian and his family survived the nuclear holocaust and as part of the Sixty, he aided in the active and passive defenses of Valentine Z, using his Engineering, Electrical, and Physics expertise to the best of his abilities. Adrian also has a bit of a knack with driving and racing, and thus after VRSCR Season 1, he decided to try his hand in international motorsports events, teleporting over to the world of AO to participate. He measures 15' 10" (482.60 cm).
