Erkuns-Hohnschich-Furzeine-Motospiel will be returning to its rally roots in the upcoming WSRC season. Prior to last season’s venture into the WGP2 championship, EHF had exclusively had a rally focus, reflecting the greater popularity of the discipline over open wheel racing in the United Iron Principality. A former participant in the Nordic Rally Championship and the most successful team in the annual Schutzenphalian Rally Tour, EHF will nonetheless be competing for the first team at the full international in the upcoming season.
“We’re excited by the possibilities,” said team principal Annika Hundertwasser. “The WGP2 was a learning experience for us all, but I’m not at all disappointed with what we accomplished.” EHF used a revolving slate of drivers and notably did not sign the only Schutzenphalian driver in WGP2. Hundertwasser said she “would not be surprised” if the team signs foreign drivers for the upcoming rally championship. “We want drivers who are compatible with our team and provide complimentary skills,” said Hundertwasser. “Nationality isn’t a big part of the consideration.”
EHF has been boosted by a sponsorship with Schutzenphalian banking giant Überbankenkraftzeitschutzenphalen. Asked for comment, ÜBS spokesman Hannes Merkatz said “we will always honour client privacy and are not willing to comment on reports linking us to sanction-busting or non-compliance with audit regulations relating to transfers of arms, conflict minerals, and 10-inch ribbed… Oh, the motorsports thing? Yes, very commendable stuff, we’re excited to partner with EHF, a team we believe reflect our values of diversity, inclusion, equality, and being the moneyman for oppressive Islamist petrostates if they pay us enough”.
