Canggu Golf Classic (OOC/Sign Up)

[Pemecutan]

Canggu Golf Classic will be the first edition of golf competition that will be held in Canggu, Pemecutan. It is an 18-holes golf event.

Participation

Each nation is eligible to enter a maximum of 4 golfers. Each golfer will be assigned a skill modifier in a range between 0 - 100 with 0 being beginner and 100 is world champion. Please remember that the average skill of your entry have to be 50 or below.

A puppet is welcome. 1 main nation can include only 1 puppet and main nation have to declare their puppet. For puppet nation, the maximum golfers entry is the same.

Scorination and RP Bonus

For this competition, I will use Xkoranate for the scorination. RP is not mandatory but nation who RP will be given RP bonus for a maximum of 10 points for the best quality RP. RP can be based on anything and doesn't have to sports related RP. Keep your imagination wild.

Schedule

At start I will open this sign up for about 2 weeks and then start the IC post or the main competition. The competition will be around 10 days with 1 break day. The 18-holes will be divided into 2 part, 9-holes front (5 days scorination) and 9-holes back (5 days scorination).

I would have some interest in participating as well, but what turns me off from doing so is the signup process. It's not about signing up golfers with an average skill of 50, it's about making one golfer have this real high value, and then lowering all of the others....so they can crash and burn with the one golfer. For me, that's a deal breaker.

I would much prefer a system where all golfers enter with the SAME value. After the first tournament, the golfer's performance in prior tournaments is what increases the value. Not an arbitrary system where people are going to make one person be 90/100, and then drop all the other scores.

I would sign up if that was the case. I cannot signup with the current structure.

I agree, the skill system does seem far too easy to take advantage of.

I'm thanking for your suggestion and opinion on this competition. It is really an eye opening on my side that my sign up and skill system have a flaw. Reading your comment on my skill system have make me reconsider about the system. Noticing if I want this competition to be a continuous event it is a fair deal for this first event to have all the entrants having the same skill or in other words, they all start from zero. I believe this is also for the fairness and competitiveness of the competition.

Therefore, I will scrap the skill system for the sign up and only apply RP bonus for this first event. All the nations that have been enter their sign up before this decision will still be accepted but the skill that they have provided will be ignored. I hope this decision will give a fair result for this competition and also to all participants.

As I scorinate the result for today, I found some errors in the previous result. Fortunately the errors doesn't change the result much.

So in Day 2 and Day 3 result, I have mention that the subtotal par for both days are 12 which add up to 36 par in total. But as I check the data, this should be 11 par for each day, 3-5-3 par in Day 2 and 5-3-3 par in Day 3 which add up into 34 par in total. This error doesn't change the result but change the calculation of above and under par. And this have been resolved in today result.

Another error is player position. In Day 2, Namyer Open (MAL) was placed on 46th ranked instead of their total par was 28 in which they was supposed to be placed on 33rd ranked above Krisna Putra Jaya (PCU). This setting is fixed after scorinating the Day 3 result.

The last error is another player position. In Day 3, Kayu Rimau (ERM) was placed on 28th shared ranked although their total par is 38. They should be put above Ruslan Yatsenko (LYT). This setting is fixed after scorinating the Day 4 result.
