Look, this might sound extremely politically incorrect, but may I ask, if there is no men's only tournament in NS, then why should there be a women's only tournament?

The question is: Why shoudn't there be one? Who is offended in the Real World? It is out of the real-life cultural context, where there are women and men tournaments. It is mirrored here at the Olympics, were men and women have different competitions. Even though it doesn't make too much sense in the NS World, which is fantastic in many ways, women are stronger in some nations and sentient Fantasy creatures with unknown gender exist.

Most competitions here are Open competitions.

If you wish you can probably make a World Cup only for men, if interest is given?

Format for the Jenna Raven Cup/Women's World Cup:

The goal is to get to enough countries to have a workable number of four-team groups for a double-round robin competition. We currently have 18 confirmed sign-ups. If we get to 20, it will consist of five groups of four teams each. In that format, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout rounds. In that case, the knockout stages will begin with a Playoff Round where seeds 7-10 would play to decide who advances to the quarterfinals. A 24-team tournament would have six groups of four teams each, and seeds 5-12 would play in the Playoff Round.

2. Head-to-head goal differential
3. Total goal differential
4. Total goals scored
5. ICly: Coin flip; OOCly: RP bonus
6. Playoff match

To decide seedings in the knockout rounds
1. Total goal differential
2. Total goals scored
3. ICly: Coin flip; OOCly: RP bonus
4. Playoff match

Three (or more)-way ties:
1. Overall goal differential
2. Total goals scored
3. ICly: Coin flip; OOCly: RP bonus
4. Playoff match

Once a team is eliminated from the three-way (or more) tie, tiebreaking procedures switch to previously announced format.

The group stage will consist of matches played once per day until a one-day break to end the first half of qualifying. Following that, there will be a day off between the end of qualifying and the start of the knockout rounds. If there is to be a playoff match or playoff matches, those matches will take up the day off between the end of qualifying and the start of the knockout rounds.

I will scorinate all of my group stage matches, but will seek third-party scorination for any/all knockout round matches.

Scorination
I'll be using Vilita's mobile scorinator, which I've observed in other competitions I've run with it is generally friendly toward teams that RP consistently. As such, RP bonus will be non-degrading and generous. Home field advantage will not be applied after the group stages, but will be applied for group stage matches.

Scorination will take place at 8 p.m. EDT and the OP of this thread and the IC thread will include the details of this schedule once it's finalised.

If there are any changes to the schedule, I will update THIS thread, which will also serve as the OOC discussion thread for this tournament.

Forfeits/Withdrawals/CTEs
Once the tournament has begun, teams are not permitted to withdraw until the conclusion of their team's participation in the group stage, as per standard practice. If a player's country has ceased to exist during the group stage and qualifies for the knockout rounds, its spot will be taken up by the next team in the group. If a team ceases during the knockout rounds, the other team will qualify for the next round in the tournament.

No, there isn't, and there probably won't be for a while. Maybe if the Women's World Cup catches on, it might become a thing in the future, but that's probably a long way off.
