While people in were happy to be back celebrating sport together in the Halvenhalve Stadium in Alshkan today, people left the stadium with a bitter taste on their lips after Alshkan Futballen lost their first match of the tournament so far. Alshkan Futballen was playing against the team from North Yege - a team which is ranked 25th in the competition compared to Alshkan's 32nd place and so it was always going to be a tight match between two of the top-rated teams in the competition but in the end, the match swung in the hands of the team from North Yege with them scoring one point. Alshkan Futballen has had a pretty good record so far, with the team having won all their matches except one where they drew a tie. After Matchday 4, Alshkan Futballen was placed at the top of the league table for Group F after the team played 4 matches - winning three of them. The team had 10 points and was two points clear of the second-placed team FK Virkestad Hetta from Kalmarlund - ranked 85th in the competition. Despite Alshkan Futballen having a rest day on Matchday 5, the team was still in first place, but it allowed the teams that did play to slightly catch up on Alshkan's points total making the next few matches crucial for Estogium's best offering. Unfortunately, though it wasn't meant to be on Matchday 6 but Alshkan Futballen have a chance to crawl itself back on top - or at least stay in the top two but it will be a hard goal. The team is currently tied with two other teams with 10 points - but the other two teams have played one more match than Alshkan Futballen suggesting that if Alshkan Futballen needs to score points in the off days of those teams in order to get ahead. Drawing a tie with a team could manage to hold off Pesulu Ulun Pasih from Pemecutan who are starting to look a bit threatening in fifth place.
Meanwhile at the bottom of the same group is Darlington Shire from the capital city who don't seem to be making an impact on the league table. The last two matchdays have been very ugly for Darlington, as the team went against Valletta City FC from Malta Comino Gozo - one of the best teams in the tournament so far. The team's defeat against Malta Comino Gozo's Valletta City wasn't as bad as the crushing defeat of Mosul in a 10-0 thriller, with Darlington Shire managing to score a single goal but was overwhelmed by Valletta's prowess as they scored two goals more. Maccabi Tiferet, ranked 21st, managed to score their first win against Darlington Shire but the team still occupies the last position in the league table with many of Ertzei Kishimis probably wondering what is happening down there. We will be wishing for Darlington to do much better in the coming weeks. Krest Top, ranked 77th in the competition is ranked 10th out of 12 teams in it's group which isn't great at all. While the team has 5 points and so is still in the mix, it's becoming increasingly likely that team ranked 77th will not be making it through to the next stages of the competition. Recently, Krest Top FC managed to beat Parseringkit Bringkit who despite being ranked lower, is higher up on the league table.
All Estogian teams will need wins in order to stay in contention of qualification to the main event - we have hope, do you think they will qualify?
