There are multiple examples of people not even posting rosters, and still making the World Cup proper. This forum is really built on the idea of sports RP, and while you aren’t required to RP by any means, almost every major tournament on the forum will have some sort of RP element to it.

I believe without a sub classifier (Like U-18, U-21, 'of Hockey', 'of Cricket' etc) it is reasonable to assume the tournaments could be confused particularly in historical search records. I recommend the competition be renamed the "No RP Championship of Association Football" or something similar to differentiate.

2. Is RPing prohibited, or will there simply be no bonus for RPing? Depending on the answer, I would further update the proposed title above.

3. I would suggest that the details on the scorinator be provided such that the participants and mods can review. There have been arguments that this tournament doesn't belong in a forum specifically cited as being for roleplaying but there is precedent for properly scorinated tournaments to have no RP bonus associated with them - mostly domestic things but not exclusively. However, i believe International tournaments that are not scorinated using a proper / purpose built scorinator are actually expressly prohibited on the forum in the same way that copycat versions of existing tournaments are expressly not permitted.

4. There is no requirement to RP in the Proper NS World Cup. Of course, with the way the tides have gone, it is unlikely that your nation would be terribly successful without it as such I can see the gap with which this tournament could exist in if it is done properly.

No, BOF signups are still open as far as I’m aware, and you don’t have to be in the BoF to participate in the World Cup.

While I'm not CAP, I'll answer these questions to the best of my ability as co-host.

1. I proposed the name "Cup of the Nameless". Haven't heard any response.

2. I'm really not sure. I'd like it to just be no bonus with some measures in place to make sure people don't go too in-depth with RPs, but Islands of Ventro proposed an idea where RP bonuses are negative, and I again haven't heard from CAP.

3. CAP mentioned that they were going to be using excel, but I contacted them about my personal choice of xkoranate. Again, they didn't say anything.

4. Whether this tournament does a decent job filling that gap is going to be up to time. I do hope we're able to serve that particular (RP-averse) niche of the community well!

Ahhhh, I love the fact that I can be lazy and STILL have a chance at winning, Also how about if you do RP it gives you a disadvantiage

I'm not a big fan of that idea myself. Doing something like that will only serve to alienate the main NSSers and delegitimize this Cup, which is a recipe for not reaching season 2. Of course, the OP can come to their own decisions, but I'd prefer a situation where RPing things outside of seemingly insignificant game events is still okay to a degree.

Also, my vision for this thread is to get people who wouldn't otherwise participate in NSS (myself included) involved in something NS Sports-y. We can't turn people off by saying "oh you have to submit a full roster and tell us everything about the game and...", but at the same time, maybe a game ends 5-1 and the two people involved in the game decide "we should tell that story!" and maybe a couple of people eventually participate in other events after they participate here for a while and think it could be fun to go to the next level.

Also, I'd love to work with the OP to help organize this thing. I may not do any scorination, but I will help out with scheduling and the roster and all that jazz.
