VSK Factory
Sterlennau, Auruna

"Rai... how many drivers now?"

"Er.. 16 drivers."

"Wait what?! Sixteen!? That's an AMtA grid right there!"

"Anyway, tell Martjen to prepare the dorms for the drivers who chose to stay there, they might arrive anytime now."

"Alright, you and your crazy numbers."

"What can I say, they chose to participate and we didn't set a limit so anyone can join."

Orel leaves Raiko's office and looks for Martjen, leaving Raiko alone. While there are other teams that are doing the same thing as them, sixteen drivers were a lot for a team new to WGP2. It's going to be challenging especially with a wide variety of talent in their hands but which two will make the cut. It was time to send the schedule to the drivers and to the public.

VSK TRYOUTS
All participating drivers will be flown to Sterlennau, Auruna with all expenses to be paid for by the team which includes food and hotel, and option to stay in the drivers' dorms at Sterlennau is available. Three events will be held in three circuits respectively where the drivers are tested not only of their skill behind the wheel but also their synergy with teammates, engineers and crew, and adaptability with a programme similar to VSK's Junior Drivers Academy.

Schedule
Day 1 (16 March) - Veratuna Circuit, Veratuna
1000-1200 - Practice
1400-1500 - Qualifying
1630-1800 - Race

Day 2 (17 March) - Novi Berenta Circuit, Korkovanta
1000-1200 - Practice
1400-1500 - Qualifying
1630-1800 - Race

Day 3 (18 March) - Livonsk Circuit, Livonsk
1000-1100 - Practice
1300-1400 - Qualifying
1430-1530 - Race

The Car
Chassis - VSK F-21P
Engine - VSK 4R22-T Wankel Rotary Engine
Power - ~700 HP @ 9,500 RPM
Rev Limit - 11,400 RPM

All drivers will be provided their own car. The number of drivers doesn't matter as the cars are also used in the VSK Junior Academy where there are more than 20 drivers competing. It will be sufficient for the final number of participating drivers. The cars' specifications is similar to that of VSK's WGP2 car.

Pryfurium, Diarcesia

It was amazing in Aldauren's perspective that the place changed a lot compared to last year. For its WGP2 operations and R&D, the team was granted the parent company's original office building beside the Raceway. The track also underwent extensive renovations after an abortive attempt to place itself in the WGPC calendar. It now boasts two new layouts that demand other aspects of a driver's skill: technical execution and well-roundedness. Aldauren was keen to use the new portions on his tests. For now, he awaited Laura Haukanna's arrival to the PB complex.

Aldauren eagerly received her when she arrived at the meeting room.

"Welcome to Diarcesia, Miss Haukanna! Pleased to meet you as our first WGP2 driver. I hope the trip and the train ride from the airport went smoothly."

After the pleasantries and some snacks, they discussed some of the particulars of what was to happen next.

"...we'll do our best to make sure you have the resources to further develop your abilities. Feel free to bring in your personal sponsors and decorate your car after the reveal. Additionally, you can bring your family or some of your companions with you during the season: we'll provide accommodations. As we speak, you might see familiar faces from Viska here as they work hand-in-hand with their counterparts in creating the car that would help in your success."

"I'm excited." Laura says, while still overwhelmed by her first time outside of Auruna. Following Aldauren all around the HQ, she sees a lot of familiar faces as Aldauren said. Comprising mostly of Viska engineers and mechanics that focused on WGP2 for the team, and then a more familiar presence is felt. Peering through a glass window, she sees Artur Iljakov, sent by Jöna to help them out. Everything around her felt similar to Viska's HQ back in Sterlennau. While Laura is still relatively new to VIska, she couldn't contain her excitement, smiling while looking around and while knowing that she's going race again after a horrible time at Schkeska, she's ready to redeem herself.

She takes a quick rest then tells Aldauren. "Can't wait to drive open wheelers again, I have spent most of my racing career driving rally cars... I pretty much admired all rally drivers from Auruna. Hopefully my skill there translates well into WGP2." She pauses. "...I don't want to disappoint the team."

She continues to look around with the welcoming atmosphere of the team, inherited from Viska, calming her down. It feels like home but in another country. It won't take her long to get comfortable with the team. The Viska partnership with PB influenced a lot of aspects of the team. Almost falling asleep from that fact, Laura's clearly tired from the trip to Diarcesia.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to announce... the return of the Urotovsky-Gatutin General Machine Building Enterprise Motorsports Division to WGP2!"

There had been some talk that the Urotovosky-Gatutin General Machine Building Enterprise Motorsports Division (or just UrGa Motorsports Division for short) might not return to WGP2, the second highest level of open wheel racing in the whole multiverse, because of rumors that the series would be introducing a new spec engine for all teams to use. These rumors had surfaced even as the third season of WGP2 was still going on, giving the team more than enough time to assemble an engine that they could submit to WGP2 for consideration as the spec engine. The engine itself would have offered a few advantages, mostly in terms of reliability because it was adapted from a 1000 horsepower engine that UrGa used for the trucks it supplied to the Pridnestrovian military. Reliability was, of course, one of the most important things to have on the battlefield, and luckily enough this managed to translate itself well to the realm of racing. None of UrGa's DNFs in the previous season of WGP2 could be attributed to their engine or car failing by itself; there was always some extraneous factor that caused the distinctive red and green cars to retire on the rare instances that they did.

In the end though, WGP2 decided to choose another engine to be their spec supplier for their fourth season, and UrGa have been left in a bit of a conundrum. UrGa had obviously designed their car around their engine, banking on the admittedly long shot that their engine would be selected to be the spec engine, but now that someone else's engine had been selected, there was a burning question in the minds of those working for UrGa. Does this mean that every team on the grid for this year will have to use the spec engine for their car? The Preston Autos Skychief V6 had a different design philosophy from the UrGa 1000-GP2, and if every team had to use the Skychief V6 then UrGa would have to spend valuable time and resources rebuilding their car to fit the new engine. Resources were not much of a question, but time certainly was. Some of the engineers took the potential problem in stride, believing that this was a perfect opportunity to see the capabilities of their car when it's not wholly Pridnestrovian-made. Others were more reluctant to accept the potential change, reasoning that UrGa was a Pridnestrovian team through and through and should remain that way, even down to the smallest part in the car.

But the even bigger question for UrGa this time around, the answer to which was even more important than the engine issue, was who would get to drive for the team. One seat was already filled for UrGa; Taras Matviyenko would remain as UrGa's first driver in the series. A safe and reliable pair of hands such as his would be important as the engineers would be able to maintain the development pace of the car instead of having to focus on fixing broken parts and pieces. But then who would pair up with Matviyenko in the other car?

A few drivers in the market had already expressed their interest in driving for UrGa, and team principal Vasily Semyonovich Gatutin had already placed them on his shortlist just because they were already interested. But apart from them, Gatutin had decided that he was now going to look for a specific kind of driver. Taras Matviyenko was a very reliable driver and gifted technically, but he didn't have an aggressive bone in his body. Last season, UrGa had hired a driver with a similar style to Taras because they were afraid of going into the season shorthanded. But now with a glut of drivers on the market, UrGa could afford to be more choosy. And choose they did. Their criteria for selection to the UrGa shortlist was as follows: the driver should be very aggressive but quite unreliable. It would at least give UrGa someone to actually compare Matviyenko's data against, and that would actually be helpful in aiding their development further. Thankfully, a lot of drivers in the market fit that criteria. Now it was just a matter of getting them to actually come to UrGa and have a look at their project.

As David Clarke ran through his inbox, a wave of excitement ran through him when he saw an email addressed from Grand Prix Chanceux. That was followed by a rush of nervousness. Maybe this email wasn't telling him he was accepted for a trial, maybe it was a rejection. Still, he opened the email, a flood of mixed emotions flowing through him

we have decided to invite you to the GPSC Trials at the Centre D'espoir le Automobile.

That one sentence put Clarke on cloud 9. He was going to get a chance to prove he could drive a WGP2 car. He hurried to put together a response

From: David Clarke
To: Grand Prix Chancuex WGP2 Team
Re: Thanks

Thank you for the opportunity to prove myself. I promise I will not let you down

There was yet another email from UrGa inviting him to test their car in person. He sent back the same response he had sent Grand Prix Chancuex and called an old friend of his, Chris Gordon. Gordon was currently in the NSSCRA second tier, and the two of them were teammates for about a season a few years back in the Sword Island Stock Car Series. At the time Clarke was 22 and Gordon had just turned 23 but the two hit it off immediately.

"Hello, Mr. Checkers of Wreckers", Gordon said. It was his unofficial nickname around Sword Island racing circles due to his sheer volume of DNF's, most caused by him. But in those same circles, people were calling him the most talented driver in the country, and so another more flattering nickname grew: Any Time, Any Place, Any Car Clarke. And he had had success in a lot of different environments, from dirt midget cars to stock cars to sportscars to even sprint cars. But his most successful foray up to this point had been open-wheeled cars, with him taking home 4 wins in just 18 starts, along with 6 DNF's. But that was not telling the whole story. His first season in the Stevens GP car 2 years ago was a nightmare: 4 DNF's to 9 starts and not a single win. And a strange thing about those DNF's was that he was always either leading the race or mounting a charge up to first when they happened and in all four he had nothing to blame but him overworking the car. That offseason he put in a lot of work in understanding what the Stevens GP could and could not do, and the results showed with him finishing the year with 4 wins to 2 DNF's, one caused by a freak tire blowout, the other caused by a legitimate mechanical failure not caused by him asking the car to do something it couldn't do. He also visited the podium 6 times that season including his wins and finished a solid 2nd in the points. "What have you been up to Gordon?", Clarke asked. "Just getting ready for the first practice session.", Gordon responded. He was in Concord Heights trying to keep his championship hopes alive. "You should see this car, it looks like a late model and those old gen cars we used to driver in SISCS put together", Gordon said talking about the odd body Stevens had put on the car for this short track. "I could probably win in it", Clarke joked. "Well Any Place, Any Time, Any Car Clarke I have to go", Gordon said. Clarke was about to check another box off his resume: SISCS, been there done that. GP Sword Island, ditto. 24 Hours of Perth, been there, done that, got the T-shirt. And now he could add WGP2 driver hopefully off that list. He would need to be on his A-game and more importantly trust that the car can do what he wants it to do and not fight it. Things were looking amazing for Clarke: 2 trials, 2 opportunities to prove himself.

2 chances to prove why he was called Any Place, Any Time, Any Car Clarke

The Prima Donna and the candidates for the second seat

Postby Lisander » Mon Mar 15, 2021 5:45 am

—So, Sissie is stepping aside for trying a seat, and you're on standby? Gosh, I thought I would have her as a backup. - Marc Wiel wasn't shocked by the news brought by Darius Castellammare.

—We can't blame her. Don't you think she's frustrated? There's a lot of time before the next WGPC season, and you remember how bad she finished the last one. She's a lot like me but can't keep cool yet. I believe the people in Harlean wasn't really caring about TAS Alliance, so they sent her because they had already promised a driver. It's not the poor thing's fault that they did such a terrible disservice to her. It would be unfair if, now that she can get a team in a category more suitable for her, they withdrew their support. And it was to avoid this that I lobbied so hard to bring her into the academy. We started training her, now I feel it's our duty to take responsibility for her career, even if she's not driving for the Academy Team. Also, just like the main Bitten Heroes is not just a WGPC team, Bitten Heroes Academy is not just a WGP2 team. Don't forget that we also have a contract with Mor Holstein at NSSCRA. So I'm decided to support her. Besides what, we're even getting a peek in the other teams for the future. We would be stepping aside for the season, not forever.

—NSSCRA. That is a category that frustrates me. Mor is very talented, and she is wasting so much potential there. I personally don't like ovals at all. To me, going in circles makes no sense unless you are a dog chasing your tail. We should take the possibility of Sissie going to Hodori and get our spot back in Formula Endurance, and also get some spots in GT. Just like Nasunen did by sending that prodigy girl from his team to Formula Hinode. - Marc Wiel seemed to have various projects and plans on his mind.

—I'll have that in mind. Maybe one of the GT Lisander manufacturers would like to start a team there. I still have contact with the guys at Warsteiner. Some of... Wait, my phone is ringing. Oh, hello Sissie! What? Why? Oh no, again the number? You're really sticking on that? For Jah's sake, Sissie. It's just a number. It wouldn't care in the simulator... but okay. If you don't want it, I'm not forcing you to do that. Okay. I know that's important to you. I know the LAB guaranteed you to sign it, I know this was your only request, but the TJUN-ian association signed up their drivers first. There's nothing we could do about that, I can't go and destroy the career of a random foreign driver just because of that! I know... You used it since karting, and they already made you use #12 in the WGPC and your performance was awful, so you don't like it. Yes... Okay, send the e-mail then. If you're okay with missing that opportunity, there's nothing else that we can do.

Darius Castellammare took a long breath. Marc Wiel, that had overheard the conversation, asked:

—Hard day, isn't it?

—Never before have I wanted to choke the entire Board PR staff by as much as I do today. Those bloody idiots let someone sign up earlier with Sissie's number and now she's pissed off because they gave her the wrong number in Chanceux Test and decided to pull herself down. Talk about Prima Donna. If she loses that seat, I swear I'll dismiss all of them.

—If I can do something about it, feel free to ask.

—Well, the best you can do is offer the seat to the TJUN-ian driver, with the condition that he must give up on the number seven.

—Well... this one is quite hard to do... Maybe if Leinas raise the values of that sponsorship...

—I understand, nevermind. What were we talking about? Hodori, huh? So. If Sissie get that PrismRiver seat without causing a diplomatic incident between Lisander and TJUN-ia, then we could scout the current GT manufacturers. I still have my contacts on Warsteiner, they may know something. And how about you? How's going with the selection of the second driver?

—I received some applications, and I was analysing their backgrounds. Charyseine Valkyria already received an offer by PrismRiver, and that's kind of good, so I won't have Carolina Lasseps complaining about opening her workshop to a WhoTuber. If, let me see... - Wiel looked at his notes for a second and completed the sentence - ...if Mr Tüvshinbayar looks interesting, we could have it tested too. Mind to have a look at my clipboard? I couldn't narrow any more than this.

—Hmmm... Some nice names. I like this one. This driver somewhat reminds me of Anneliese. It may not be the best choice for the team.

—Yet, brings a sponsor. Better small than none. How about this one? We're not strapped for cash, but every money intake is good.

—TAS Alliance made a mistake. Sissie was never a stingy person. Comparing to you, she's a big spender...

Greetings!
My name is Marc Wiel, I'm a former racing driver and I'm the Team Principal for Bitten Heroes Academy engineered by MW Racing.

After an exhaustive analysis of applications, driver profiles and backgrounds, Bitten Heroes narrowed the list of potential drivers for our team to the four of you. Also, that's why you're receiving Carbon Copies, since I believe it's fair to you to know what are the other potential candidates to the seat.

We'd like to invite all of you to take part on individual track days with the team in our headquarters. We'll use the track day data to decide who will be our Driver #2 for the season. It can be held as soon as you confirm the interest. It will include meeting the team, planning and driving some laps on our headquarters at Brax with both KS-02 and KS-04, and an interview. We'll be scheduling track days individually, so please confirm as soon as possible. We can't guarantee a date if you decide too late.

Regarding Sponsorships: I was informed that Leinas Timepieces is interested in provide a sponsor contract for the second driver of Bitten Heroes Academy. If you want to consider this contract terms, please make it clear on your answer to this message.

The emails were sent in quick succession, before Ted shut the lid on his laptop and thought about what he'd just done. Four trials. Of the five teams that he'd expressed interest in joining, so far three had replied - and a new invitation from MW! That certainly gave him a bit of confidence. It felt nice to be wanted, after all. It would be an extremely hectic few weeks, but he knew what he had to do.

Positions Running Low, No Refuels in Sight

Postby Sierra Grand » Mon Mar 15, 2021 8:10 am

Jerome Mariote was getting desperate. The opportunities were gasping by. He decided to take some risks and email the Big Teams. He bent over to his computer re-reading hoping to make just the right impression.
To: Fireline Motorsports, Teussische Motoren Werke, Urotovsky-Gatutin Motorsports Division
From: Jerome Mariote (jermariote@sierramotor.go)

Dear All,
I hope you consider for a position in any of your tests. I can bring valuable assets to the table and I have experience from my days in Sierra Motorsports. I promise that I can provide all you need and work with whatever you bring me.

Thank you for your consideration,
Jerome Mariote

Would It work? Had to try. Send. Meanwhile, he prepped up for his interview with the biggest motorsports radio in Sierra Grand, The Finish Line with Carson Rowe.

CR: Welcome Ladies and Gentleman to The Finish Line, I'm your host Carson Rowe and today we have a quite special guest. I present to you Jerome Mariote!
JM: Pleasure to be here Carson.
CR: So Jerome, you previously raced for MontagneF1 in the Sierra Domestic Leagues, why aren't you racing again?
JM: Well you see, I very much respect the people at MontagneF1, Robert Pontame is a great director, and their cars are great, but for a time In the WGP2 I want to go for something new. I don't care if I get a bad team, not saying any teams are bad, but I want to prove myself to the world.
CR: But honestly, what makes a team want to recruit you? For all, they see it's some idiot from Sierra Grand who thinks he's big enough for the WGP2
JM: That's where I disagree Carson. Because that applies to any legendary driver, they come from the small leagues and work their way up. But every driver who we think is great started up from the small teams.
CR: But you aren't answering me, what makes teams want you?
JM: Well I have experience from the races on the streets of Port Elisabeth to the large countrysides of Tour des Champions. Tight streets and wide plains give me a lot of technical experience
CR: Sounds like a good deal, what teams are you interested in right now?
JM: Well I've sent a couple of eMails but I want to keep it secret right now for a surprise/
CR: Thank you Mr. Mariote and goodbye audience!

"Standby, Oyster one ..."
Adeline, concentrated to the max was sitting in the cockpit of her SeG-1PM. An incredibly complex machine truly resembled a jet fighter from the inside- an awful lot of gauges, screens, buttons switches etc. and required a helload of training to properly operate. Still, she was more then up to the task, ready to face whatever the challenges this machine could give her.
“Okay, Oyster-1, prepare for start up procedures” - a calm, yet strict voice said via the radio., - “Battery switch on ...”
- Copy, battery switch on ... Battery positive, - she answered in a repetitive manner. While the complex nature of the car really required all of the procedures, it was one of the most boring things to do.
- HUD on.
- HUD on, nominal.
- Okay, ASS test switch on ...
- Copy ... - afterwards she waited 10 seconds for ASS (active suspension system, not what you thought) to activate and self diagnose. While she knew what the abbreviation meant in English, she, usually, didn’t have a damn- after all, who cares about some kapitalists? - ASS working normal, condition optimal.
- Proceed to AWPS (active wheel positioning system) testing.
- Copy ... AWPS test set to B ... AWPS nominal, system online.
- APU on, wait for green light.
- Copy, APU on ... APU online, condition nominal.
- Oyster-one, pre-startup checklist complete, proceed to engine startup
- Roger
- Behind crank switch light on ...
- Copy, engine started.
- Watch your RPM and increase throttle, according to the table ...
- Engine at full throttle, condition nominal.
- Ground team, disconnect ground air and electrical supply.
- Copy that ... Disconnected.
- Okay, Oyster-1, oxygen and stimulant supply on ...
- System nominal, oxygen flow ... nominal ... stimulants flow ... nominal.
- Proceed to additional system startup LIDAR on, set to autotelemetry mode.
- LIDAR on ... system set ... correcting predictable deviations ... LIDAR on, systems nominal.
- Set LIDAR to standby. Proceed to DCS (drive control system) checklist. Hold DCS Bit switch and wait for two beeps.
- Copy that ... All nominal.
- Alright, proceeding to final procedures. Close the canopy
- Copy, closed.
- Arm canopy ejection safety, press “test”, count to three and wait for the beep.
- Copy ... * beep *. Systems nominal, switching to “armed”.
- Ground crew, remove the park brakes ...
- Roger that, removed.
- Oyster one, start up procedures complete, begin the testing!
Slightly pushing the pedal to the floor, Adeline felt the car obediently darted forward. Although she had previously piloted the SeG-1, it was the first time she tested its production version. She was pleased to know that the car was no longer picking up speed like a mad bull, but obediently obeying her commands. However, trudging at speeds of 50 kilometers per hour is not very fun, so she pressed the pedal to the floor, feeling the familiar sensation of overload, pressing her into the chair. Ahead there was the first turn, and the HUD immediately displayed the optimal trajectory, and also prompts appeared indicating where to slow down, where to add gas, where to turn on and where to turn off the ASS - the car, in fact, thought for the pilot. However, even the most advanced car cannot be compared in cunning with a truly capable pilot - in a split second the girl realized where the car had gone wrong, and, having slightly corrected the hint with her mental command, took the car into a turn. Although the eight-wheeled something looked like something absolutely clumsy, the car easily entered a turn, just as easily exiting it, which is especially important - practically without slowing down! There was no such thing on the previous versions of the SeG-1 ... An extremely sharp corner appeared ahead, however, the car easily coped with it, losing in speed incomparably lower, especially when compared with earlier analogs. "Well, let's see what you can do on a straight line!" This exposed the Achilles heel of the car - its rather weak, in comparison with competitors, acceleration. Created for the sake of keeping the speed on corners, and not keeping it, the car barely gave out the speed at the average level for this section, which saddened her somewhat. The car was rushing along the ring road, abruptly and somewhat boldly entering the turns, and this, in the opinion of its happiest driver, was real life.

Lakeria was sitting behind her Personal Computer, looking at the black and green screen with tired eyes. She reallly needed to stop leaving all work at 3 AM, yet still this was just way to hard for her. Sometimes she thought of this as a somewhat ironic thing- she could take down an entire U-Boat during her time as an ASW plane weapons officer, yet now she cannot simply stop postponing every last one. Yet still, her work was almost done- only a few emails to send, and everything will be set and done ...

Subj: Invitation

Good day to you, comrade!

We are glad to announce, that you were chosen as a probable team member of UAC racing team to compete in the WGP2. After looking throughly at your statistiks, we have decided that you would be just the right fit to pilot our newest chassis- the SeG-1PM. Be advised, that it’s probably one of the ... most unusual cars you’d see throughout your driving career. Still, we believe that you will be able to find yourself quite comfortable in its cockpit.

We will fully pay for your flight to Laka Strolistandiler and back, while also providing you housing in Corporate Housing Object No. 13 (please, don’t let the name fool you- I suppose it can qualify as a luxurious by your standards). Of course, we will also provide you a full tour of our Racing Division, including a factory tour of State Aircraft Factory No 14., where the SeG-1PM is manufactured.

Please, reply to us as soon as possible- even if you do not wish to join our team.

Best wishes, comrade!

Lakeria Evelein mac Gurudosuki

((OOC- there is a file with basic car's design description and some photos attached to the e-mail (check my first post for description)).

We are very pleased by your interest to join our team and ...

We are proud to announce that due to your immense skills, proven by your national championship title, you have been accepted as a candidate for a second driver position in our racing team!

However, as we currently have several other candidates we decided to introduce some testings, in order to make a logical decision.

If you choose to accept our invitation, we are going to fully pay for your flight to Laka Strolistandiler and back, while also providing you housing for the time of your trip. You will, of course, be provided a car for the testing- a SeG-1PM. Take notice, that SeG-1 PM is a very unusual car, but we believe that with a fair amount of learning and training you would be able to use it just as if it was your hand. We will also provide your tours of our Racing Division and State Aircraft Factory No.14, where the car is manufactured.

Please, reply to us as soon as possible- even if you do not wish to join our team.

Best of luck, comrade!

Things were certainly moving quickly for one Batu Tüvshinbayar. He was going to a few events now across the grid and while some would say that this would be a bit busy, he didn't mind all this at all. He knew that he had to find a seat in this series, but he also knew that where he ended up could determine his fate overall and so, this decision has to be made with the right information in mind. His suitcase was almost ready to be packed and from here on out, he hoped someone would be happy to see him turn up and their little event soon...

Lintulahti, Aboveland

Kaidi steps into Edvin's office, not shyly but in silence, and as she inhales to speak the Abovian does as well.

"Okay, you first," Edvin says, clutching his tablet against his chest with both arms.

The Nykipik nods. "We have a stick," she says. Edvin frowns.

"A stick?"

"Yes," Kaidi replies. "We have a stick. You know--” she opens and closes air quotes-- “‘in a stick.’"

The Tropicorp Racing Ælund team principal still doesn't catch on. "We are in a stick?" he says, pausing after each word to make sure he's understood clearly. In a flash of lucidity, he gets a faint idea. "In a stick...y situation?"

Kaidi, already over the idiom, attempts to hurry the conversation along. "Yes," she replies confidently, though not quite sure she's understood herself. Before getting back on track, she approaches Edvin and walks past him, sitting at his desk and leaving him standing before the entryway. As he walks back to his chair, she begins to speak.

"The NTSB has pulled funding," Kaidi informs, puckering her lips and pushing her glasses up the straight bridge of her nose. She shrugs before continuing. "Maybe I misunderstood, actually. But I think their plan was to make an initial investment, and leave it at that." She pauses. "And they haven't said anything about the driver picks."

Edvin grimaces. TRÆ wasn't planning on putting any funding into Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis; in theory, the program would have been paid for in its entirety by the Nykipish government, in exchange for a large say in the driver selection process. However, now that funding had apparently run dry, perhaps there was an open possibility for negotiations--all the while keeping the business relationship healthy.

"Your turn," says Kaidi, emotionless.

Edvin clears his throat, and raises his eyebrows to lift his glasses. "Well,"--he cocks his head to the side-- "that changes things somewhat. Running tests isn't exactly free," he says, annoyedly, though not personally directed against Kaidi. The Nykipik agrees, herself flustered at her higher-ups' decision, too. "I suppose, then..." continues Edvin, as his eyes brighten up. "That they won't mind giving up some power.” Kaidi frowns.

“The truth is,” Edvin declares, “we know more about this stuff than the Nykipish government. And we agreed on this project because we need this platform more than the NTSB does. So if they’re not willing to pay, that’s fine, but we’ll choose the drivers, then.”

Kaidi shrugs. “Sure. When will the trials be?”

Edvin is slightly taken aback by her bluntness, but continues. He heaves a heavy sigh. “VSK’s trials… they’re on until the 18th. Earliest we can do is Thursday, March 19th.” The Nykipik nods. “I’ll draft an announcement and send it off to you for distribution,” concludes Edvin. The meeting ends in a comfortable silence.

Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis Invitational Trial
Toralmintii International Circuit | Lintulahti, Aboveland

Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis invites uncontracted World Grand Prix 2 drivers to Toralmintii (formerly Lintulahti) International Circuit in Lintulahti, Aboveland on Thursday, March 19th, to participate in an open trial for a chance to drive for the Nykipik national team (with technical development and assistance from double World Grand Prix Constructors' Champions Tropicorp Racing Ælund).
Image

Participation

Owing to unforeseen circumstances, participants must pay a subsidized fee of 1500 t. (N$D3000 equivalent) to cover the cost of fuel and tyres for the event. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered for all participants and up to three companions after presenting proof of purchase documents concerning their spendings. We regret to have to inform this decision, but the fee will ensure the test may go ahead as planned.

Format

Driving Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis' season 4 WGP2 challenger, Æ-P1, participants will be separated into four different groups, going out onto the racetrack two or three at a time (depending on group size) in three sessions, with the chance to set a total of five flying laps per session. After each session, drivers will be allowed to make setup tweaks to their vehicles to match their driving styles, assisted by the mechanics of Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis and Ælund Racing. At the end of the test, Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis may offer participants a seat for the upcoming WGP2 season, based on the progression shown during the test and the team's own criteria. Specific contract agreements and details would be specified once the deals are signed.

The Circuit

Toralmintii International Circuit is located in the small town of Lintulahti, Aboveland, half an hour from Iskajärvi, the capital of the western Abovian Lake District, by road or ferry. The facility, which hosted the Abovian Grand Prix in seasons 16 and 17 of the World Grand Prix Championship, serves as the headquarters for joint Abovian/VIlita and Turorian outfit Tropicorp Racing Ælund, two-times World Constructors Champions in their current guise. Following an extensive redesign, the circuit is once again conditioned for operation, and will debut a new layout in the Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis trials. The track combines significant elevation change with a layout designed to test car balance over a variety of corner configurations: the circuit is wide and fast between turns one and five, descending from the pit straight towards the shores of Lintulahti bay, before slowing down over the smooth, crested turns six through ten. The run up from turns 11 through 17 again climbs towards the main straight, over fast corners strewn across uneven, undulating tarmac. The track configuration ensures drivers will have to adapt their driving styles as the lap progresses, and that they will have to make the most effective compromises in their car setups to work efficiently over a full lap.

Confirmed List & Contact Info

The finalized entry list is as follows:

  • Sakinomi Rikikida (KYC)
  • Haru Jukkena (AUR)
  • Lukas Fitcher (SWR)
  • Harry Zoomtwat (FEC)
  • Katie Edwards (HAN)
  • Skiia Vialiv (V&T)

The rising Aurun sun casted a shadow on Luc Deschamps as he made his way to the drivers dorms in Sterlennau. This was what he was signed up for with the VSK tryouts. 3 different race courses, 3 different skillsets needed, 3 shots at proving that he belonged in the World Grand Prix circus. First up would be Veratuna, then it would be a brisk shuttle to the Novi Berenta Circuit in Korkovanta, and then the final round in Livonsk would settle the score. Win any of these rounds, he thought, and he would be in contention for that seat. That seat he ever so needed, in a team that could compete for the WGP2 title. It was something he would want himself.

Focus, focus, the first round didn't start yet...

He arrived at his driver dorm, one laid out with his name, trigramme and his number. Luc Deschamps, DES, #16. From the Sommet de Lespoir. Perfect, he thought. Since it wasn't time for any sort of racing, he went and chilled out for a bit. Kicking up his feet, Deschamps would turn on the television and listen in, thinking about the chance to be with this team, this Aurun outfit that looked like a charm to work with.

VSK-Maarukanna... What a nice team name. I want to win their ride.

Unlike most tryouts, this wasn't coming down to just one race. Again, this had 3 rounds, each track testing a driver's abilities in a different way. To be the perfect driver for Maarukanna, one had to be able to be aggressive and technical when needed. An army knife able to switch on the fly between tricky corners and pounding straightaways. An all around driver. Pffft, as if.

As he got relaxed and suited, ready to drift off for a long few days ahead, he heard a buzz from his phone.

Bzzzzt! Bzzzt!

Not again... An email while I have tryouts tomorrow? Give me a break...

He did eventually go around to pick up the phone. It was another email, as per expected due to Luc Deschamps being... Well, Luc Deschamps. The Sommet driver had gotten an invite to partake in Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis' test in Lintulathi, at the Toralmintii International Circuit, named after the legendary Abovian driver. NN were essentially Tropicorp Ælund's reserve team, the secondary team of the legendary constructor sponsored by the equally legendary Tropicorp brand. It was a combination that was a force to be reckoned with, as iBen Toralmintii and Terho Tavela rocked the WGPC world by winning the constructors title and Tavela retiring from the WGPC with a record 3rd driver's title in tow. Tropicorp Ælund were the team everybody wanted to be, and if everything worked out with Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis, maybe, just maybe...

He would fill Tavela's seat. Like that would ever happen.

That was just a pipe dream. He had VSK to try out for, but at the very least he had enough time to board a plane to Aboveland should the VSK tryouts not work well. Luc Deschamps would close his eyes, trying to get himself some shut eye. It was going to be a long road to the final race. It was going to be a journey to get a seat. But as the despair of slumber crept up to him, Luc knew that he had to get up early. It was part of his ritual. And he wouldn't have it any other way.

Night night Luc... Big day tomorrow. Don't jinx it.

With apologies to the three submitted tracks that did not make the cut, here is this season's schedule.

Image
The first mid-season non-championship race will be run with the grid in reverse championship order. The second and third non-championship races will be run with the grid in order of the finishing positions from the previous non-championship race. These three races will not score points.

PB-Viska WGP2 Team Headquarters
Aldauren Ginintella's Office

The dark elf team principal's first taste of the WGP2 preaseason continues with the scramble to pick up the best talent. Returning to the familiar confines of his desk, he sighed when he looked at his calendar. Another meeting. Only enough time for a quick breakfast. At least, this one is a technical discussion with the mechanics from both PB and Viska. Apparently, if the current brake duct is tweaked a certain way, the size reduction can improve the car's brake wear rate. Regarding the aerodynamic package, the team is probably still in the early stages of development, but the preliminary tests showed that it could be fairly capable of handling the tarmac and the Skychief V6's raw power. Siv, PB's CEO, made the strategic decision to source their engines for Preston. She hoped that it will help the company produce their own WGP2 (or maybe WGPC) engine based on their flagship product PB Crux's powerplant.

Aldauren emerged from the meeting several hours later. The topics are densely packed with reams of technical data and jargon tossed around, but the writers of the reports are adept at condensing it to informative chunks to assist the engineers in making the case for each of the possible options to install in the vehicles. They were still sorting through all the pros and cons, but so far the majority seem to be coming to a consensus.

"Hey Aldauren. Finally found you. You have a moment?"

It was Gideon Scrivenor, one of PB-Viska's scouts.

"Gideon. What's up?"

"Found a few more names that you might want to invite to the tests. I think their driving styles could suit the car."

"Hmm... are their profiles what you're holding?"

"Yes."

"I can have them... Okay, I'll study them later. Thanks, Gideon."

"Anytime."

It was a busy day for Aldauren, but when he found the time to look at Gideon's reports on the free agents and research on their prior performances, he could tell that the scout is correct. It's settled, then.

[342 words]

Invites are sent to Indra Vartak, Skiia Vialiv, and Astigar Armendaritze to take part in PB-Viska's driver tests

Fireline Motorsports enter the WGP2 scene, looking for drivers

Fireline Motorsports are taking the next natural step in developing their international racing brand - entering into WGP2. With ample opportunities to home-grow new personnel for the senior team and form new relationships with potential future or already established drivers at the top level, entering WGP2 will serve as a reminder that Fireline Motorsports are here, and here to stay. Under-par results in the WGPC the past few series have not held back the faith or resolve that the Racing Director holds in this team.

"I may be fresh to this team, but I've been following Fireline for a while, and while their results may seem average at best, if you look closer you can see a drive and a resolve to improve those results, and significant improvements in performance stemming from the teams perseverance. I saw that before I came to Fireline, and now I'm here I get to experience it - this is a team that wants to go places. And I'm here to help that happen."

Coming into the WGP2 season, the team will be hoping for at least a mid-table finish. But expectations can easily be broken in the WGPC; this is a series where spec engine and tyres dominate, meaning everyone is on a level pegging in terms of the raw power driving the cars. That's not to say that Fireline didn't have a good engine in the WGPC - Tropicorp is amongst the best - but that they had some struggles in integrating that raw power into the car. It should be different in the WGPC. Reliability won't be too much of an issue either with these spec parts; the issues that developed in the Fireline car in the WGPC season will hopefully be fewer. The car, obviously, can still differ. But the team has faith that their recent research and development can help the team catch up with the specs of other cars that have been in the game for longer.

With these clear ambitions and strong preparation already underway for the new WGP2 season, sights turn not to the car but to the drivers that will sit in the car. The team know that recruitment will be a challenge, with many competitive teams vying for the best drivers. But with previous WGPC experience in Fireline that didn't disappoint, there was only 1 option that could be considered at this point in the signing window.

We can confirm that Fireline Motorsports have offered a drive to Adriana Kowalski as the senior driver for the upcoming WGP2 season. It's a bold move from the team looking to put an offer out there straight away, but an unnamed source from the team tells us that "Adriana is the right fit, keeping with the team's mentality, values, and approach to international racing. We're hoping to further our relationship with Adriana and maintain a partnership that we hope will bring Adriana and us many future successes." It's all in Adriana's hands now as the team await a response; Adriana has been busy with open driver tryouts at many teams though, so we are certain there is likely to be competition for her.
Esportivan and Proud.

Streets of Alikki-Corra to open WGP2 Season

With the announcement of the official calendar for the 4th World Grand Prix 2 Campaign, open wheel motorsports will be coming to the Streets of Alikki-Corra for the first time as the Vilitan Capital has been awarded the opening date on the WGP2 Season 4 Schedule. The 4.61 km course will skirt through a business district, straddle the downtown park and zip past the Alikki-Corra Academy of Sciences as the first ever World Grand Prix sanctioned event on a non-permanent course in the Vilitan Cove region enters the fray. The Vilita & Turori Motorsports Commission has already invested in the full suit of infrastructure required to support the event to include safety barriers, fencing and all electronics required to ensure compliance with all World Grand Prix Organization regulations for hosting the event. The commission has already made required modifications to the surfaces along the proposed circuit to repair or replace irregularities or worn asphalt. Two sections of the proposed course were built specifically for the proposed street course including the "esses" section of the circuit which were built through the grounds of the Alikki-Corra Academy of Sciences who will also be one of the local sponsors of the Grand Prix.

The team paddocks are the other area of major new construction for the course, funded by the Alikki-Corra Academy of Sciences the paddock area will be transformed into temporary Laboratory and Research space for the Academy after the race weekend with any equipment brought into the spaces to be movable and non-permanent to facility the potential re-use of the designated Paddock and Pit area for future Grands Prix on the same or similar course layout within the capital city.

While there will be small sections of the course where drivers will be able to accelerate to high speeds, many of these sections also come with low to moderate elevation change. The most difficult section of the course is likely to be the Academy esses which are non-uniform and drivers will have to choose to sacrifice speed and entry into one corner to set themselves up for another. It could offer unpredictable opportunities for overtaking throughout the event.

While the season will be kicking off in Alikki-Corra many teams will be planning an extended stay in the Vilitan Cove region as the final pre-season test event will be taking place the week prior at the Cocoabo Park Circuit in the Cocoabo Forest. Teams, drivers and families may opt to spend the week at the Cocoabo Park Resort before taking the short flight down to Alikki-Corra for the season opener particularly as all hard-carded WGP2 officials and team members will receive complementary access to the Cocoabo Park Resort for the duration of their stay in the Cocoabo Forest. While the Cocoabo Park Circuit has been a mainstay on the World Grand Prix 2 schedule for a number of seasons, with no Cocoabo drivers competing in the WGP2 this season the Cocoabo Park officials are likely to run some sort of exhibition race among its Cocoabo Trainees during the Test Weekend to keep fans entertained during any downtime.

Pegasii, Vialiv vye for Open Seats on Foreign WGP2 Rosters

While there are no Cocoabo drivers vying for a spot and no officially backed Vilita & Turori Motorsports entry in the field for the upcoming World Grand Prix 2 season, two Vilita & Turori based drivers will be participating in upcoming test sessions with a view to getting a drive for the upcoming season. World Grand Prix 2 Veteran Journeyman Jama'obo Pegasii is expected to be one of the most in-demand drivers of the off season as the highest ranked WGP2 driver available based on last seasons standings. Pegasii finished WGP2 Season 3 placed 5th in the overall driver standings despite driving for the experimental mid-pack Naval Motorsports team. While the drivers that finished ahead of Pegasii in the WGP2 season each graduated to the World Grand Prix Championship circuit, Pegasii kept their race-anything mantra going by competing in select events in the NSSCRA and IRACT circuit in The Sherpa Empire. Pegasii brings the full backing of the Vilisorma Beverage Company through the Vilaye Roast brand and is available to accept any trial invitations from teams where Pegasii's sponsorship will not conflict with the teams public backers.

Pegasii is also one of the most recent winners on the WGP2 Circuit, having won the penultimate race of the most recently completed WGP2 season at the Tavernia Parkway Circuit in Eastfield Lodge. Pegasii expertly drove to the front of hte field from their 7th starting position to lead at the half way point but was cycled out of the lead on varying pit strategy's. Near the finish it was a two-driver battle and Pegasii held off UrGa Motorsports driver Taras Matviyenko to take the checkers. Pegasii kept up the strong momentum in the season finale qualifying 2nd for the Championship race and leading for long stretches in search of back-to-back World Grand Prix 2 race victories before a mechanical issues forced Pegasii to pit and limp the #37 home off the pace at the finish.

The other Vilita & Turori based driver who will be vying for a seat in the World Grand Prix 2 season is the young prospect Skiia Vialiv. After a last minute deal to race in the NSSCRA's Everlong Contender Series fell through, Vialiv was picked up by the Vilisorma Beverage Company as a driver for their show team Vilaye EnergySport which entered Vialiv in the Rumble in the Rice Fields events. Vialiv will have backing from Vilaye Energy available to her if required to land a seat but is hoping to impress during upcoming trials with Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis, PB-Viska and UrGa Motorsports and hopes to land a drive for the upcoming season on merit even if it means signing on as a junior development driver for a foreign team. While Vialiv is still hoping to impress with her skills on the track, off the track she is sure to be an asset to whichever team is able to secure her services with a strong social following on twii.tur and even an established record interacting with the fans through fantasy sports and other interactive services.

Jerome Mariote sits sleeping in his bed after a long day when the dream hits again. No, not a dream he had to remind himself... a memory.
- Flashback: 2002 -
The Ten YO Mariote is at home watching his father Benjamin Mariote racing in the Sierra Domestic Championship racing for MontagneF1's predecessor, Thunderbird Racing. The closest racer, Karl Wassennach approaches and forces him to the right, and suddenly a slip-up in the track. Mariote crashes into the barrier and flames soon burst. The relatively bad design of the car means he can't get out. Benjamin Mariote dies on the track from severe fires. Other than Mariote's car, the SierraGo Racing League is up in flames about who to blame and how to fix this. Thunderbird is issued a 2-month ban from R&D, cars have new massive requirements, Wassennach is banned for the next 2 Years from any SierraGo tournament.
But for all that matters to the young Jerome is his dead father. He swears on that day, he will make his dad proud at all costs. He enrolled in Go-Kart and most of all made sure that he would beat anyone close to Wassennach.

Armendaritze Mansion
Vallezul, Hispinas

Astigar was inside his own gym in his mansion, trying to keep his fitness levels intact after a torrid time in the NSCCRA's Everlong series where he only finished 7 of 21 races and getting an average finish of 31.6 of 35 positions. When his team, Itzal Lasterketa, was purchased by Ajian Investors, he was forced out of his ride to put Main series driver Shigeru Tsuchie when they shut down their team in the main series. As a result, he had been unemployed for three months now, although he was able to snag a personal sponsorship deal who left the team with him after he lost the ride. One of the marketing officers and road agents of Txerrikotxoa, Amalur Etxaide, was with him at the team, and became his personal assistant, confidante, and eventually lover.

At one of Astigar's conditioning sessions, his mobile phone rang. It was Jose Manuel Varadi.

"Egun on, Mr. Varadi."

"Talk to me in Hispino, Astigar."

"Okay, okay, what is it, is this about my application to the team you are planning to have in WGP2?"

"Si, you see, Astigar, we have a partnership with Badai Angin right? They stipulated that one of the drivers for the team should be from Filindostan, and as per WGP2 guidelines, we cannot field you in the team as we have already decided that Gozum will be #1 driver."

"Why is that? I'm from Hispinas."

"The team is registered in Filindostan, but the ownership has Hispino stake on it, so we cannot field both Filindo and Hispino drivers in the same team in the same season. And oh, I doubt you can be included in the Badai Angin driver program given you have driven for rival car company Dahon in the NSSCRA. And the Everlong results may speak for itself. I have told you what I need to say. I'll be dropping off. Bye."

"HEY!"

When Varadi hanged up his line, Astigar threw the phone in the mats, causing a crack in the screen of his phone. Amalur, surprised at his actions, entered the gym. "Hey Asti, is there anything I can do?" "Sweetie, sorry, shit things came up. I see that you are having some files there. What is it?" Amalur printed some of the emails received by Astigar in his unmonitored email. "There are two invitations specifically sent to you, one from PB-Viska, and another one from just north of us, UrGa."

"Tell them that I accept these invitations. And send an email to all teams that I will be willing to attend their tests if there are still openings."

"Okay sweetie, I'll do that today."

Astigar continued his exercises as if nothing happened in the last 10 minutes.

Kaylan Racing Team HQ
Tushlark, Togonistan

Xander sat in his office, reading latest news related to WGP2. Some interesting information had caught his attention. First of all, VSK was holding public tryouts. Apparently, a grand total of sixteen drivers were attending... some of them being drivers who were currently in Kaylan's shortlist as well. ''That is sure going to be interesting to watch,'' Xander said to himself and bookmarked the webpage on his computer. Public trials with public results... it's free real estate! At least, it would provide some hindsight about the drivers capabilities.

Speaking of drivers, Xander and Niko had taken some time to analyse their list. Some news regarding to this... first of all, Charyseine Valkyria had apparently secured himself a deal somewhere and stated he would not participate in Kaylan's test after all. Xander went on to strike out his name in the list. Next, some rumours claimed that Kowalski had gotten an offer for a seat as well. While not officially confirmed, it was still a reason enough to worry. With other teams holding trials, there was a chance of more drivers possibly being snatched by other teams before Xander could say peach. He took another look on the list of drivers they had invited to their test:

Charyseine Valkyria
Jerome Mariote
Anola Melani
Adriana Kowalski
Joy Wingelaar
Batu Tüvshinbayar
Ginny Trinket (?)

Right now, five drivers had confirmed their participation. They had still not received a response from Ginny Trinket. With multiple teams running trials, the probability of other teams snatching any of these drivers up was increasing day by day. If Xander had learnt anything during the years he had worked in motorsports field, it was not to put all your eggs in one basket. Hence, he decided to do two things. First, invite Astigar Armendaritze to join Kaylan's private test. Second, send out information regarding the date to all drivers invited. The sooner they get the test done, the better.

We look forward to meeting you.

Post 3 – Jak mogłem to przegapić?!

"How did I miss that?" she thought to herself. Amidst all of the promotional material for the engines and tires, along with the tabs of circuit information, was another tryout that Adriana missed writing an email out on.

"Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis invites uncontracted World Grand Prix 2 drivers to Toralmintii (formerly Lintulahti) International Circuit in Lintulahti, Aboveland on Thursday, March 19th, to participate in an open trial for a chance to drive for the Nykipik national team (with technical development and assistance from double World Grand Prix Constructors' Champions Tropicorp Racing Ælund)."

"Oh ahh... hmm, well, just email them and hope for the best, I suppose!"

VSK Tryouts Day 1
Veratuna Circuit
Veratuna, Auruna

Just outside the Aurun capital, built on an old air force base extending up north and back to form the 7.7 kilometer circuit. Out of the Trinity CIrcuits, Veratuna is tailored for aggression, it expects drivers to push to their limits, letting their engines run high while letting out a distinct sound, forming a symphony with the others on-track that can be heard at a distance.

The drivers disembark the shuttle upon arriving at the circuit, with two anti-air guns greeting them at the gates, a relic from the circuit's history. They now enter the circuit.

Raiko, Orel and Martjen will be observing everything from the commentary box.

With his hands on his temples, Martjen says to Raiko. "Rai, this took a lot of manpower from our part. This better be worth it." Reading his face, it was clear that he was a bit frustrated.

Raiko reassures him. "Come on, relax. It's our only way to get a driver... for now... but trust me, it'll be worth it." Then offers him a drink. "Also, potential sponsors are watching." A brief pause before he adds. "And due to MNA meddling, we had to broadcast this whole thing online at least. I love the MNA but I think broadcasting this event is a bit unusual for them. The results will be public anyway."

By the good graces of the Dame, what the hell happened?

The first day at the VSK tryouts was only getting worse for Luc Deschamps. And to think he was going to do decently at the start - He was 5th in practice, holding up his own against Yume and Márquez. 8th in qualifying was a drop compared to practice, but at the very least it was respectable. The despair that he was fearing would come in the first race of the trials. Pounding along the Veratuna Circuit was not easy for the man from the Sommet de Lespoir. It almost seemed like Madeleine Pierre wasn't helping him as he was dropping positions. 8th became 9th, became 10th...

And then, Sbinnala.

On Lap 16, Luc was already near the bottom of the grid, driving around one of the corners while fighting off Batu Tüvshinbayar. The #24 car didn't receive a call from a team principal, Luc, in fact, tried so hard to stop Batu that when the TJUN-ian booped his right rear tyre, the Sommet driver headed into a spin. It took him a bit to get back around too and get to the back of the conga line of cars, but in that time it would bring out the safety car. It was a day that he wanted to forget. Zero points, last place, nothing coming out of a good practice session.

But it was the first time in WGP2 equipment for Luc Deschamps. Although this was indeed a terrible result, when he got back to the driver's dorms, it would be a point of reflection. He had 2 more races to go in the VSK tryouts. He had the Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis to go to after the VSK tryouts. And yes, there was the PB-Viska driver tests after that. Plenty of time to hone his skills before those specific tests. If he doesn't do well in the other VSK tryout races, he will most certainly learn from his mistakes.

One spin wasn't enough to stop him.

At the Centre D'espoir le Automobile, however, things were way different. Once again there was another driver change for the GPSC Trials. Anneliese Devereux had just pulled out of the event. Unlike Charyseine Valkyria, however, it was due to problems with her nation's autosports board. For the second time already, it felt like another simulator was going to be put away. There was a joke around the CDA that all the spots were going to be filled by different drivers, but that was just that - A joke. In all actuality, that 14th spot was going to be filled before long.

In fact, they got the email now. Astigar Armendaritze was willing to attend, so long as signups were still open. And still open they were! Again, with Devereux's seat open after she had to withdraw, there was an open spot that wouldn't mean an extra 15th simulator. So hey, why not make the field fourteen again? Why not get him in for a chance at the GPSC team?

Title: About Your Email

Hello there Astigar,

Thank you for emailing us about the Grand Prix Sport Chanceux Trials. We understand that you've emailed us considering yourself for a seat if there were openings for our trials. Luckily for you, we accept your interest and personally invite you to the Centre D'espoir le Automobile for the GPSC Trials.

Please understand that, due to the development of the car not ready yet, these trials will be held using simulators. This is to help you get to grips with one of the many WGP2 tracks on the schedule as well as with the car before testing starts in Twicetagria. We hope you're okay with the use of simulators due to this.

If you have any more questions, please send us an email back. We are all ears and we can't wait to hear from you.

Thanks,
-Grand Prix Sport Chanceux WGP2 Team
P.S.: All expenses will be paid during the Trials, so there is no need to worry about money on that front.

But of course, there had to be a circuit that the simulators would use for the Trials, one confirmed to be on the WGP2 calendar. In a separate email to all 14 participating drivers, they disclosed that the Trials will use the Circuito Callejero de Cumbayá, site of the Huayramarcan Grand Prix, as the course for the simulators.

"Edward Rousseau?"
"Yes, that is I."
"You ready?"
"Ready for what?"
"WGP2, boy."
"Of course. Where do I start."
"It's going to get busy for you."
"Really? Why?"
"You've got some competitive tryouts coming."
"Oh. Which teams?"
"You've missed out on a few tryouts, but I've signed you up for everything else left open. Paperwork was a little delayed."
"Thanks for your help. You've been a lifesaver, even if the paperwork did get in late."

Edward Rousseau has requested to participate in the following trials and tryouts: GPSC, Equipo Telebuenas-BA, the Sierra Grand Racing Team tryouts, the Nykipiflugpuun Noortekoondis Invitational Trial, and the Pryfors Bilar-Viska/Air Kalactin WGP2 Driver Tests provided they wish to accept his inclusion. Edward is also open to further tryouts and offers.
Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.
