We are currently sitting at 43 signups, if I've counted right. Things are starting to get rolling around here. I didn't specify a cutoff for host bids, so I say I'll give anyone wanting to bid until Saturday of this week to post a bid. I'll open host voting on Sunday, unless somebody posts a bid exactly on Saturday (I'll bump the voting a day or two later to allow for appropriate amounts of bid discussion).

I would also like to hold voting for adopting a new ranking system at the same time. Omerica's already posted their proposal in the discussion thread. If anybody else has any other system cooking, now is the time to post it so that we can all have a good look at it and complain without offering concrete solutions

Havynwilde [and hopefully one co-bidder] looks to welcome forty+ nations to the eleventh edition of the perennial Independent Associations Cup - considered the most-admired championship for non-big three nations. Looking to gain recognition from amongst the Independents and perhaps garner support for what's to come, Havynwilde is proud to unveil its bid to host the IAC11 lacrosse five cities and welcome the world and more to Havynwilde. With a focus on developing the future, Havynwilde hopes to use this bid not only as an exposition for sport but also to discuss and showcase the future in tech, literature and other areas of nations who shall partake in this highly-publicized event.

Havynwilde is one of the smallest nations in the Melayu Archipelago, located in the far north reaches of the region - the empire of endless winter is a rather desolate piece on the greater landscape of the region, a rare puzzle in the greater region - operating within a winter climate for most of the year. Havynwilde has been the more prolific of the nations in the Melayu Archipelago and is perhaps the most well-known out of the big four in the region - being Eraman, Ziwana, Havynwilde and Sharktail. Originally founded as a trading post between Receucian fur traders from the West Pacific, branching into the archipelago, Havynwilde has flourished in the two-hundred or so years since then, growing into...a miniscule nation. Home to around 4.3 million people, the heartland of the country is the north, situated near the large Linkralldr Riverfields, a crisscrossing frozen-over marsh with rivers running through in which the capital Bellymn lay south of the largest river, River Velma which splits the capital on two sides. Elsewhere, other major towns include Easterbridge - really a great suburb of Bellymn, but don’t tell any Easterbridger that! Hvalltr to the east lies the biggest Scandinavian town in Havynwilde, wit 102,000 people, the second largest city; Baywall sits in the Kierven Fjord region, with 850,000 it is far dwarfed by the capital city, Bellymn wit 3.1 million people. To the south lay a frozen tundra, with little signs of life, although people do live there, transportation and infrastructure to the south lay rather lacking - with much of it left undiscovered, however, it is home to large fauna including the supposed Indomitable Snowmen, leftover relics from the Ice Age. And of course, the legend of the yeti - spotted twice - reigns supreme over the land, it notably prowls the south. Supposedly…

A small nation, Havynwilde has a burgeoning obsession with football - operating a seven team league with one team from fellow nation, Springmont, to the west, the league which is ranked 78 is dominated by the Thrice Firm of Avante Leipreachán, Virtus Advernians and Union Forge - however in recent years, the rise of Baywall Athletic has been storied and summarized over the past three seasons. Havynwilde’s clubs enjoy support on the international scale and have a few international achievements including Baywall Athletic’s overachieving and winning the CMFA Champions League ina recent. The national team however, has found life hard, failing to accomplish much during its short tenure. Notably, it crashed out of the last CMFA MAC despite being tagged as possible champions, since then, the team failed to do much during World Cup qualifiers, however building a buzz, it looks to build on some success it had from that time. Domestically, the infrastructure for football exists - largely is a multitude of smaller stadiums splattered through the northern parts of Havynwilde. From the flagship Nordstadion in Bellymn to the Wanderers 3,000-seater ground, Havyish football is largely defined by its many stadiums and quirky designs. Perhaps the most storied is Shamrocks Park - the Shamrock Club have won nine of their twelve titles there and it is one of the most-historic parks in LygaHaven, likely to receive renovations if used. A proposed total of seven new stadiums will be built for this tournament, capable of hosting 35,000+ people each, it is expected if given hosting rights some of these will have temporary seats added which will then be reconfigured and sent to other nations in the Melayu Archipelago given Havynwilde’s extremely small size.

It is expected the project would cost upwards of N$102 billion for the Havyish government to pull off the needed renovations aside from the sporting facilities, with a planned artificial island set ten miles off the coast planned as the showpiece for the IAC 11 tournament, the designed also include massive upgrades to the international airport, excess hotel accommodations and four fan villages which will serve as hubs for them during the entirety of the IAC.

If I am chosen as host, I will use Xkoranate with the association football using NSFS formula set on additive style mods, home field advantage will be turned off, however Havynwilde shall have the equiv. Of the home field advantage added as part of their coefficient. KPB will be used to seed participants although Havynwilde andPoafmersia will be assigned to Pot A with codes A1 and A2 respectively to record themselves as host and the latter as defending champions.

RP Bonus will be copious and will favor quality rather than quantity, there will be a sizable roster bonus and sizable bonus for RP challenges I will unveil at the start of the tournament. Similarly to help with visual aides, I will attempt to produce some photo-realistic branding for the IAC11 to assist with the prompts and to help with the flow of wanting to rp.

Finally, an All-Star team of the group stage and All-Star team of the knockouts will be created for added fun if y’all will be interested.

Scorination will be 48 hours apart and will be reported around 00:00am Eastern Standard Time give or take 30 minutes as they’ll be scored with ample time for me to get home from work and read over the rps for the matchday., the 3PPO and the Finals will be scored on the same day as to eliminate an unnecessary waste of time.

If I make it past the group stages, I will find a third-party scorinator not participating in the IAC11 proper to score matches involving me.

For OOC information: I’ve rp’d as Havynwilde since December 2019, the user behind this account is better known for Razenthuria or Kep; my recent experience includes being the co-scorinator for the Federação de Clubes de Futebol Independente’s secondary competition, Copa das Confederações, I also score the CMFA Champions League, the CMFA Nations League and serve as Secretary of Sports for Melayu Archipelago. In addition I have co-hosted a WLC (as Razenthuria), hosted the CE26 (as Velestria) and a slew of minor tournaments as Kep.

I am deeply disappointed by the lack of a competing bid.

If I have a question for Razen, it’s this: why does the 48-team format eliminate two-thirds of teams in the group stage? Why is there no “round of 24”* like in the 50-team format?

I'll be honest, I've let this fall to the wayside a little bit. However, we have not yet received a competing bid, so really I don't think anybody has a right to complain about only one bid being out right now.

With no competing bid, I reserve the right to automatically accept the Havynwilde bid so we can get this show on the road. The user behind Havynwilde has been without power for a couple weeks due to utility issues where they live, hence the silence on their part. I was in talks with them, and they expect power to be back this weekend, and thus ability to host the tournament.

Despite being past the deadline, if somebody wants to throw together an emergency bid, I suppose we could roll with a blitz pace host vote* to decide it, but I don't want to drag this out any longer than it has to at this point. The other regionals are already underway, after all. If worse comes to worst and Havynwilde can't host starting next week, I will put together a quick bid and emergency host IAC-11 myself if no other hosts are forthcoming.

Any comments I'd normally suggest to go on the discussion thread, but it probably wouldn't hurt to bump this thread a bit, so feel free to comment on the situation here. Signups are still open, after all.

Having now found myself from this morning in 14-day self-isolation I suddenly have a bit of free time on my hands; I don’t want to make a competing bid at this stage as I feel there has been a fair window for potential hosts to compete, but I’m also happy to put myself on the emergency reserve list for hosting duties if there is no sign of Havynwilde after the weekend. I could put up a reserve bid if/when that seems appropriate.

I meant to mention this earlier, but as there is no real competing bid, I have officially granted hosting rights of IAC-11 to Havynwilde, who will take over the tournament from here. Sorry for the delay everyone.

As a note, counting the withdrawal of HSOWA and the switching out of HAIKU, we're sitting at 50 signups currently (though one of these is a numbers puppet). Do with this information what you will.

As I've said in other places I have the nation registered in, I've had a lot of IRL stuff happen which is preventing me from RPing at 100% effort. I will still put up a roster, but we're probably just going to send our U21s (Di-Bradini-Equivalent) to the IAC for IC reasons which will be described in the roster post. If I do RP eventually in IAC or NSSCRA, it'll probably be once or twice when I have time and can put as much effort as I can in, but I'm not expecting it by the end of the IAC group stage.
