25 teams currently signed up. Potential formats we are looking at involve 28 or 32 teams, drawn into 4 seeded groups. 2 groups, including whichever group Gruenberg is drawn into, will play their games in Gruenberg (to be scorinated by Grearia); 2 groups, including whichever group Grearia is drawn into, will play their games in Grearia (to be scorinated by Gruenberg).

Each team will play each other team in their group in a single round-robin (6 or 7 games). All ties will be resolved by super over. 2 points will be earned for a win, 1 point for a loss in a super over, 0 points for any other loss.

The top two teams from each group will proceed to a single-elimination bracket (which will include a 3PPO). The tiebreakers will be, in order: points, wins, net run rate, head to head results, drawing of lots.

Scorination will use xkoranate 0.3.3 and the modified T20 sport file used in the last tournament, as well as the super over eliminator sport file if necessary. Style modifiers will be ground-based not team-based (yes, this requires extra work for the hosts to set them before each scorination, but we consider the work worth it to provide IC immersion with scores appropriate to grounds).

There will be a high RP bonus available to try to reward regular RPing. Because cricket can be an intensive sport to RP, scorination will take place with 1 MD every 48 hours.

Previous T20 tournaments have not tended to require co-hosting, but the aim here is to provide Grearia with some experience at hosting, while having Gruenberg on hand as a more experienced partner. Gruenberg has solo hosted several mid-sized tournaments (Baptism of Fire, World Cup of Hockey, International Basketball Championship, Rugby World Cup) and co-hosted a World Baseball Classic; Grearia has solo hosted the Salvador Hills Open tennis tournament. Both users have scorinated cricket previously during GCF seasons/individual tours.

A little more gloss in terms of IC detail will be forthcoming, but we thought it important to get the OOC details up first.

The latter. We will force draw Gruenberg into one of the Gruenberg groups (to be scorinated by Grearia) and vice versa, but as we're both unranked this won't affect the seeding.

Thanks!

Grearia and I will discuss setting things up, but I'm going to jump in to say that signups are provisionally closed at 28. Any further signups will only be included in case anyone withdraws or if we get an even four.

Signups are now fully closed. An IC thread will be posted shortly.

Closing thoughts:

Thank you to everyone for putting your trust in us as hosts and I hope that, a few minor issues notwithstanding, we did a good job. There was some good RPing and a worthy winner crowned.

The use of style modifiers was variable. I think it's an experiment worth persisting with but perhaps more testing needs to be done to determine the best settings.

Grearia did a fantastic job co-hosting, whipping up some amazing graphics, and was very diligent in all his hosting duties. I really don't consider him the "junior" host in this bid and would commend him to any future tournaments as a worthy host.

Here's a little note to thank all of you for the trust and faith the NS cricket community as a whole showed in me, to let me co-host the 13th World T20. It has been a beautiful learning curve in some aspects, and a wondrous ride in others.

Gruenberg/Graintfjall/QoD would be the first on the list to thank, for showing utmost faith in me from the get-go, including the point when the bid was first being thought of - even before formulation. I couldn't have asked for a better co-host or a better experience on the whole. Thank you for being fantastic!

Thank you to all regular RPers for making the tournament wonderful to read and follow - even for the neutrals, as we progressed through the matchdays. Grearia has been glad to host all of your national teams, alongside Gruenberg - it has been a brilliant show. Congratulations and commiserations, on that note, wherever and however applicable.

Here's looking forward to more cricket!

Many congratulations to Ko-oren on a second World Twenty20 win - as I said on Discord, you deserve it for your dedication over and above the norm to the NSS cricket scene, and it's been a pleasure to keep bumping in to you throughout the competition. Thanks also to Gruenberg and The Grearish Union for your completely flawless hosting job as well :)
