It's been more than a month since signups opened so I'm looking to get this show on the road. My executive decision, therefore, is to cut the remaining 3 puppets. That leaves us with the number I preferred, 48. (As such, Grearish, I'd prefer you didn't withdraw.)

I'll allow 24 hours for anyone who is insistent on withdrawing to do so, and then the group draw will take place using the 48 non-puppet teams in the OP.

Question for, in particular, US users.

I've scheduled an offday for Nov 3, but as the cutoffs are at 1200 UTC that's basically early morning for you. Would it make more sense to move the offday to Nov 4? I know there is something happening on Nov 3 that might distract attention a little from imaginary basketball.

It might make more sense to keep the off day on 3 Nov. for the RL reason you mean, to be honest.

As was stated on discord, I think that an offday on the 4th would be the best because of the early morning cutoff (for us US users). I will be able to rp on November 2nd, and will get these results on the morning of the 3rd however most of us will not be able to rp on the 3rd itself because of the election. Because of this if we have an offday on the 4th it will mean no American has to rp on November 3rd the day of our election.

Based on comments here, on Discord, and received by TG, my decision is to make Nov 4 an extra off-day. The second half of the schedule is pushed back 1 day. I'm sorry for this late change and for not thinking through the implications of the impending RL elections.

My condolences on your aunt's death. Mine passed 21 years ago in May and I still miss her. Needless to say, she and I were very close.

thanks man, the main thing we're worried about is the effect on my nonagenarian great grandma, my aunt was her carer for 30-odd years and we're just trying to get her through (she was actually my grand-aunt but my family's weird in that everyone's an aunt or uncle, sort of a "respect your elders" deal, even if just older cousin or good family friend)

but yeah, f*** cancer. i'm just happy her kids/grandkids were able to come see us and we could have a private function, especially with all the state border closures due to the human malware outbreak (am australian).

In the interests of full disclosure, Red Group was so tight that in order to double-check my H2H logic, I regenerated the table manually, and in doing so introduced an error that made it into the results I posted. This was pointed out and it's been corrected now. The results were correct and it does not change the playoff calculus at all.

The Super Skills may not be posted at 12 on the dot tomorrow, as it's an off-day and I have a meeting that may overrun. Normal scorination will resume on the 11th.
