BASKETBALL IN SOUTHWEST EASTNORTH

Baskettball is one of the first big international sports the Swennic people played competitively, when the nation was established 60+ years ago. Roughly 26 years ago The nation entered sports Tournaments as a good will jesture to the Rushmore region and the world. One of those was 26 years ago when, the Southwest Eastnorth basketball team joined the IBC 17 hosted by Quebec and someone else. While the team did poorly it was the first big thing SWEN ever did and it's why many people in the nation consider basketball the best sport among the populace. SWEN has a Domestic league called the SWENNIC SUPER BASKETBALL LEAGUE (SBL for short) and a decent College athletics league that also produces good basketball.


RESUME'
The User behind the Southwest Eastnorth account has hosted sporting events before under multiple other nations such as Xanneria and Appalachian Nation. This is his first attempt at bidding on basketball.

FORMAT
Right now the two main options would be either

48 8 groups of 6 with the top 2 teams moving on plus top 4 3rd place teams . Single Round Robin, Double MDs every 48 hours (aside from the final MD which is going to be 1md only).

or

50 Ten Groups of five and Double Round Robin, Double MDs every 48 hours.

Tiebreakers and qualifiers will be determined by

Playoffs will be done as a fairly normal 16 team bracket format with Single Elimination.

This will use the default basketball scorinator on xkorinate. BUT I have seen demand for the new NBA xkorinate mod made by Northwest Kalactin. If there is enough demand I will be flexible enough to work with that scorinator.

I'm thinking about it:

Unlike association football formulae, which all apply at the same time of play, the NBA basketball formula developed by Northwestern Kalactin, assumes an increase in scoring which, in terms of RP, implies on the increase in playing time.

This is more clear if we consider the results of last RL Basketball World Cup, only 15% of the matches had one team surpassing 100 scored points. In the Gold Coast Basketball Tournament, the number of matches where one team surpassed 100 points was 56%

Considering these data, I wonder: Wouldn't it be (at least theoretically) IBO's responsibility to modify the "rules of the game" so that they apply to international competitions? Shouldn't we (the members of IBO Committee) be consulted about it?

A few questions and comments on the bid:

First, would the group stage games be played at venues in Southwest Eastnorth or at arenas in the participating nations?

Second, while I know which user is behind this bid, your refusal to elaborate on your resume beyond "I've hosted stuff before" strikes me as dishonest or misleading. I understand why you did it, but I still don't think that's the right way to address your record. That's not necessarily a deal-breaker for me, but I can't say I'm pleased.

What is a deal-breaker for me is that your proposed formats seem to be devoid of any logic or consistency. If you're willing to use double MD scorination, why would you use a single round robin format? With groups of six, as in your 48-team format, that would give participants in the group stage just three chances to RP before the knockouts, which to me is simply not enough. Not to mention that you have the same group size and single round robin in your 42-team format, but don't use the double MD scorination. I would advise that you pick either a single round robin with single MD scorination or double round robin with double MD scorination.

Unless these points are addressed, without a competing bid, I will be voting to re-open bidding.

edit: I'll also add that I'm not a fan of having the Championship Series be scorinated all at once. What's the point of having the Final be a series, if you're just scorinating it in one go?
