FONEMAFA - Choudali Teams
Savusavu AFC
Projected Finish: 1st
Manager: Frank Torres
Formation: 4-3-3
Team Colors: Blue and Gold
Key Players: Chris Walker (GK)
Dennis Young (DMC)
Gary Jackson (AML)
Team Summary: Savusavu AFC is likely the best team in the newly formed league this year. Frank Torres will be coaching the new team, he is also the National Team coach. Chris Walker will be commanding as captain between the posts for Savusavu. They made it all the way to the Quarterfinals of the CMFA last cycle, so there are many questions for what the future.

Vatukoula United
Projected Finish: 3rd
Manager: George Clark
Formation: 4-5-1
Team Colors: Red and White
Key Players: Adam Long (DR)
Sean Martinez (MC)
Walter Clark (ML)
Team Summary: The current incumbent champions of Chordal are Vatukoula United. They may not gave the best roster in the league, but they could very well have the best defense. Adam Long leads the defensive force that is Vatukoula United, and if they get lucky, they could push some of the top teams in the league for the title this year.

Sigatoka FC
Projected Finish: 6th
Team Manager: John Diaz
Formation: 4-4-2
Team Colors: Rave Green and Navy Blue
Key Players: Harry Stewart (GK)
Randy Griffin (ML)
Jerry Cook (ST)
Team Summary: John Diaz looks to bring the boys of Sigatoka FC a shot at the title this year. Sigatoka is a young and rising team in the picture of football. The very young squad can probably build up enough confidence throughout the year to contend for an IFCF position, and if they do good enough at the start of the year, there is nowhere this team can’t go.

Savusavu City FC
Projected Finish: 7th
Team Manager: Fred Rivera
Team Formation: 3-4-1-2
Team Colors: Cyan and Black
Key Players: Todd Harris (DR)
Fred Cox (ST)
Team Summary: Savusavu City is a huge rival of Savusavu AFC. They are one of the oldest teams in the division, and are not a rich team, so they will have trouble recovering after they lose their top players in the next few years. Fred Rivera is a coach that believes “Play to win. Don't play to not lose” He likes playing a relatively more attacking style than most in the division. They will have trouble due to other teams getting the top players, but they certainly have enough coaching to do well.

Nakasi United
Projected Finish: 9th
Team Manager: Andrew Schoppen
Formation: 4-4-1-1
Team Colors: Red and Yellow
Key Players: Keith Ward (ST)
Willie Reed (CD)
Team Summary: When you first look at the formation, Nasaki may not seem like a very defensive team, but almost all of their best players are on the defensive area of the field. They spent much of their relatively large budget stocking up to build a good defense in recent years, and it will probably show on the field. The Strikers though, will likely have an extremely hard time scoring this year, with mainly Keith Ward on the ball.

Sigatoka Reds
Projected Finish: 12th
Team Manager: Bobby Henderson
Formation: 3-4-3
Team Colors: Red and Purple
Key Players: Donald Baker (DC)
Donald Long (ST)
Team Summary: Sigatoka Reds will not be a very good team this year, and one of their only highlights may come from the National Team Striker Donald Long. Donald is a very flash player that will score in any way possible, and is one of the only reasons that Sigatoka Reds are this high on the list. New coach Bobby Henderson will be a sight to see this year, as we do not know how he will apply Long.

FONEMAFA-Ziwani Clubs
Mount Pleasant
Projected Finish: 2nd
Manager: Keith Lopez
Formation: 4-4-2
Team Colors: Blue and White
Key Players: Johnathan Ramirez (GK)
Mathew Scott (MR)
Summary: A club that can look to challenge for the title this year, Mount Pleasant has a strong defensive end that may be one of the best in the league this year. Keith Lopez will lead a strong team that can challenge for the title, but it is unclear if they will be able to beat out Savusavu.

IronGate Rangers
Projected Finish: 4th
Manager: Kevin Johnson
Formation: 4-3-3
Team Colors: Blue and Navy
Key Players: Earl Bennett (DR)
Brian Rodriguez (ST)
Summary: The Irongate Rangers may have the best player in FONEMAFA. The skill of Brian Rodriguez is unmatched from many, and he will definitely look to lead the league in goals this year. The 27 year old striker will be assisted by Right Back Earl Bennett, who makes his debut as a 21 year old.

Mafumu Chiefs
Projected Finish: 5th
Manager: Anthony Kelly
Formation: 3-4-3
Colors: Yellow and Black
Key Players: Gerald Allen (ST)
Todd Parker (ST)
Summary: The team that may be the most offensively sound team in the division are the Mafumu Chiefs, who holds some of the best strikers in the league. They also play a pretty tactically offensively game, which just adds to the skill that they have on this side of the field.

USY
Projected Finish: 8th
Manager: Jesse Watson
Formation: 5-4-1
Team Colors: Blue and Yellow
Key Players: Christopher Bryant (GK)
Roger Morris (DC)
Summary: We go from the best offensive team in the league, to one of the most defensively aggressive teams. Running out of the 5-4-1 formation, this team likes to park the bus and let the other teams fall into traps. They don’t score many goals, but they don’t give up many either.

Orami 1992
Projected Finish: 10th
Manager: Phillip Harris
Formation 4–4-2
Team Colors: Red and Yellow
Key Players: Mathew Martin (GK)
Edward Henderson (DR)
Summary: Orami 1992 may be a long shot for anything this year, but that will not stop them from trying to do well on a small budget. Phillip Harris is the youngest manager, and this will definitely show, but with some experience, they can definitely avoid the drop.

Mbawala Antlers
Projected Finish: 12th
Manager: Paul Baker
Formation: 3-4-3
Team Colors: Blue and Gold
Key Players: Michael Morgan (MR)
Summary: This team may be the worst one in the league this year, and they will struggle to avoid the drop this year. Michael Morgan is probably the only bright spot of the team, and this will be a very hard battle for the team this year.

USY (ZWN) 0–0 Mafumu Cheifs (ZWN)
Savusavu AFC (CHD) 4–2 IronGate Rangers (ZWN)
Mount Pleasant (ZWN) 3–2 Vatukoula FC (CHD)

Not a ton of surprises towards the start here, Savusavu AFC comes out as clear early leaders, and have not lost a game yet this season. Tons of low scoring matches plagued week one, but after that teams managed to put up large numbers of goals at decently high rates. Nakasi having an 0-1-3 start is relatively surprising to most, as they were a team that could’ve even be looked at as a longshot for an IFCF placing this cycle. The IronGate Rangers destruction of USY was piggybacked off of 3 goals by Brian Rodriguez, who has come in so far looking like an MVP caliber player. The Choudali clubs seem to be coming out the strongest right now, but that isn’t to say that the Ziwani teams will not come back and contend this year.

Savusavu City FC (CHD) 1–0 Mount Pleasant (ZWN)
Nakasi United (CHD) 0–1 Savusavu AFC (CHD)
Sigatoka Reds (CHD) 2–2 USY (ZWN)

Savusavu AFC is continuing their crusade towards a title run this year, with 4 straight wins right now. That included wins against the string Ziwani side Mount Pleasant and in town rivals Savusavu City. Currently, they are looking like the team to win the title this year, and lead the league in least goals given up right now. Currently, their is no clear cut best Ziwani side, although long shots like Orami and USY are making strong campaigns for it. Orami was able to surprise many with their large upset against Vatukoula FC, who have not been out to a great start lately, but look to recover that soon. One of the biggest surprises f the season so far is that Mount Pleasant has struggled to make large leaps this season, they have been stuck losing to many Choudali clubs and some other Ziwani sides, and that may not change for a while if they don’t step it up soon here.

MD10
Mbawala Antlers (ZWN) 0–1 USY (ZWN)
Savusavu AFC (CHD) 2–1 Sigatoka Reds (CHD)
Mount Pleasant (ZWN) 2–2 Nakasi United (CHD)

IronGate Rangers (ZWN) 2–0 Sigatoka Reds (CHD)
Vatukoula FC (CHD) 2–2 USY (ZWN)

MD14

Savusavu AFC (CHD) 2–2 Vatukoula FC (CHD)

Sigatoka Reds (CHD) 1–2 Mafumu Cheifs (ZWN)
Nakasi United (CHD) 1–3 Sigatoka FC (CHD)
Savusavu City FC (CHD) 0–4 Orami 1992 (ZWN)

Well, would you take a look at a few games by the Ziwani sides there? Both Orami and USY are making comebacks at the race for IFCF positions. On the other hand, Savusavu AFC has had a much harder time maintaining their control on the league, and that has included a thriller 6-3 loss against one of the best Ziwani sides in terms of quality, Mount Pleasant. Nakasi United has completely fallen apart since the first few match days, and could very well be on their way to a spot in the second division of FONEMAFA next season. Mount Pleasant have been looking to come back after their rough start and are now riding off of a 5 game win streak that could put them in very good position for next season.

MD15
Savusavu City FC (CHD) 2–0 Mbawala Antlers (ZWN)

Vatukoula FC (CHD) 4–4 Mafumu Cheifs (ZWN)
Mount Pleasant (ZWN) 2–1 Sigatoka FC (CHD)
Savusavu AFC (CHD) 1–0 Orami 1992 (ZWN)
USY (ZWN) 0–1 Savusavu City FC (CHD)
Sigatoka Reds (CHD) 1–1 Nakasi United (CHD)

Now, it is starting to look like that Savusavu AFC is starting to fall apart, they have a few games now, and are only a few games ahead of Mount Pleasant and Vatukoula FC, who have managed a giant amount of draws so far this season. Nakasi and the Sigatoka Reds are now in a dogfight for who will manage to stay up this season, but Nakasi has started to look like the team that will fall now. The IronGate Rangers, who were expected to be a top 5 team this year, have fallen apart a lot, as clubs like USY and Orami 1992 have taken charge of the Ziwani side of the league.

MD19
Sigatoka Reds (CHD) 0–0 Mbawala Antlers (ZWN)
Nakasi United (CHD) 0–2 USY (ZWN)
Savusavu City FC (CHD) 0–0 Savusavu AFC (CHD)
Orami 1992 (ZWN) 1–1 Mount Pleasant (ZWN)
Sigatoka FC (CHD) 2–2 Vatukoula FC (CHD)

Vatukoula FC (CHD) 3–4 Orami 1992 (ZWN)
Mount Pleasant (ZWN) 0–1 Savusavu City FC (CHD)
Savusavu AFC (CHD) 2–0 Nakasi United (CHD)
USY (ZWN) 2–1 Sigatoka Reds (CHD)

MD21
USY (ZWN) 1–2 Mbawala Antlers (ZWN)
Sigatoka Reds (CHD) 0–1 Savusavu AFC (CHD)
Nakasi United (CHD) 2–2 Mount Pleasant (ZWN)
Savusavu City FC (CHD) 1–1 Vatukoula FC (CHD)
Orami 1992 (ZWN) 1–2 IronGate Rangers (ZWN)
Sigatoka FC (CHD) 1–0 Mafumu Cheifs (ZWN)

And with that folks, Savusavu has clinched the league title, and are very well on there way to a spot in the IFCF Champions League. 3 Choudali teams have already clinched their spots in the IFCF Champions League, while clubs like USY still have a shot at the IFCF Champions League for the Ziwani teams in the league. The IronGate Rangers are in a fight with Mount Pleasant for the final spot in the Challengers Cup, and they can clinch the spot over Mount Pleasant with a win tomorrow. It will be an exciting day tomorrow, make sure to tune in for the final FONEMAFA matches of the season.

MD22
Mbawala Antlers (ZWN) 3–3 Sigatoka FC (CHD)
Mafumu Cheifs (ZWN) 4–1 Orami 1992 (ZWN)
IronGate Rangers (ZWN) 0–0 Savusavu City FC (CHD)
Vatukoula FC (CHD) 3–2 Nakasi United (CHD)
Mount Pleasant (ZWN) 4–1 Sigatoka Reds (CHD)
Savusavu AFC (CHD) 1–1 USY (ZWN)

WOW! What a match day that was for the FONEMAFA. USY has been able to secure the spot in the IFCF Champions League for Ziwana, while Orami 1992 would fail to win their match today and all to the Challengers Cup. The IronGate Rangers tied their match, and where not able to secure the spot over Mount Pleasant, who was able to beat them out fo the final spot in the Challengers Cup for Ziwana. With Nakasi United losing time Vatukoula, Nakasi has been sent down to the FONEMAFA 2Div for next season, better luck next time. Congrats to our champions, Savusavu AFC, and make sure to tune into games next year, at https/fonemafafootball.net.
