To the Doubles Finals we go
Kohnhead has always been about the singles players in the NSTT. We've seen the emergence of Mindy Waterford, Theresa Waterford, Bartholomew Pole's run at Hamilton, Uppatin dominating at tier 2 tournaments. Yet what we haven't seen is good doubles play as our top four doubles players Melissa Turnface, Riley Dovatin, Bradley Kohnface, and Spencer Kohnhead tend not to make it very far. While in the outdoor court season these four were in two pairs and everything was fine, Kohnhead and Kohnface were ready to try out the mixed nation doubles pairing that were allowed in the clay season.
Kohnface faltered with Electrum player Jack Ho and while they've played in a couple of tournaments together they have yet to really show they have the necessary chemistry to continue playing as a mixed double. We will see what they do in season 7 and if they ever play again together. Spencer Kohnhead went with a different Electrum player this time in Marcus Hathwar. Hathwar and Kohnhead enjoyed a couple of nice runs in the clay season and clearly had the necessary chemistry to continue on.
The Ethanian Open is their second grass season tournament together and so far it's gone way better than expected as Hathwar and Kohnhead have made it all the way to the finals. However most people from Electrum probably won't be cheering for this duo (the ones that are watching at that, don't listen to The Turnip people) because of who they are playing. They will be taking on Deanne Smith and Sara Zhou who are interestingly not the top Electrum duo (that would be Sonya Gredello and Rosa Levinsky who are ranked as the top pair in the World) who are coming off of a win against the Fournier's from Reucen.
Kohnheadians will obviously be cheering for Kohnhead and Hathwar to bring home the first tournament win to Kohnhead ever and even if they don't win it will be the first time a doubles player from Kohnhead has reached the semis or finals.
