Major rivals: Port Rhovanyon AFC (local), Pyathora Mariners FC
Major honours: none
Sponsor: Port Taras Shipyards (ship construction)
Fans' expectations: Avoid relegation, annoy Port Rhovanyon AFC
Pundits' prediction: 24th place
Seasons in the First Division: 29 of 100
Best position: 12th place

Background: The second Port Rhovanyon team has always stood in the shadow of the Port Rhovanyon AFC, however their following is one of the most fervent in all of Tikariot. Traditionally drawing the majority of their fanbase from the port district of the city, the Raiders have always had a close connection to the port workers, who actually had founded the Raiders as an alternative to the AFC that has a wider fanbase across most social layers. They have yet to stay in the TPL for an extended period of time, being one of the most relegated teams in the league's history, but that has never stopped the fans from flocking to the stadium. Knowing that the AFC is likely out of their league for the foreseeable future even just stealing one point from the city rival has always been considered a great success.

Previous season: Constantly in and out of the promotion spots, the Raiders only managed to clinch fourth position through a dramatic 4-2 victory over the Dhalhora Heartland FC, which pushed them ahead of Toroyra FC and Dhalhora, finishing head of the Cape Shetma Falcons FC by goal difference only in one of the tightest finishes the Tikariot Second League has ever seen, also thanks to a hattrick by Theodor Armitage, who left the team after the season on a free transfer to Foxhampton in Eura.

Outlook: After their surprise promotion back into the TPL after four seasons in the second league and losing their best players with Armitage and young central midfielder Kane Vassilev in the off season, manager Logar Streymur scoured the international free agent market and managed to shake loose some very interesting players with Bartović, Torsteinsson and Li, who could prove to be potential steals in the Raiders' steep uphill battle. management has decided to upgrade the team in an effort to stave off relegation and with the exception of Louis Melton only signed free agents. However despite this the experts do not believe that the team has enough substance to achieve this goal, also because other teams have been able to considerably strengthen their squads.

Key players: A lot of eyes will be on Li Keqiang and Eastlander Kenzo Gibson-Hindle to replace Armitage and Vassilev with what fans hope will be even an upgrade. A key role also will fall to Brenecian veteran midfielder Frey Stanger who is seen as anchor point in the Raiders' game.

Background: The Vilharady Owls were once a staple of the TPL, having been one of the founding members. Other than one championship in season 5, though, their successes have been few and far between and in the last 40 years have found themselves far more in the Tikariot Second League than the TPL. Hailing from the third smallest city represented in the TPL and the smallest stadium, they are not blessed with money, but rather rely on their own academy and shrewd scouting to give the teams the necessary quality.

Previous season: The Owls gained promotion again after six seasons away and comfortably secured promotion in second position, mostly aided by a strong defense that won them many of their 19 games.

Outlook: Vilharady managed to keep the core of the team together, only losing Jonathan Galas to Anhedron and top goal scorer Cody Toa to Haïtiens in Tequilo. This was remedied by bringing in Stig Michaelsson from Græntfjall‌ for goal and South Newlandian national striker Michael Glossman, plus a few more free agents of which Starblaydi academy graduate Victor Reinaldo and Askari veteran Lethe Cirvante will represent opposite ends of the career spectrum. Despite this it will be a hard fought battle to keep the Owls in the TPL, having kept the core of the team intact, though, could prove to be a plus, if the new signings can be integrated quickly.

Key players: Many will argue that the key players is the back four of Ferriol, Farnsrud, Coan and Longdon, who have been the keys to Vilharady's promotion. Most eyes will be on Michael Glossman, though, as the Owls are placing a lot of hopes in him being able to produce enough firepower to complement the strong defense.

Background: Another team rich in history that has turned into a true elevator team with seven promotions and relegations in the last 20 years. Once a powerhouse in the TPL Vantanoch has fallen far behind their two arch rivals from the Silicon Triangle, Miruan and Parakleion, and fan support has taken a hit. Just like the other two teams they come from a worker background, but while support in other parts of Tikariot is still fairly strong due to migrating workers, they are trying to earn the local trust again.

Previous season: Vantanoch took first spot in the Tikariot Second League with relative ease, six points ahead of Vilharady and 15 ahead of a non-promotion position. They also vastly outscored the opposition with 88 goals total, which luckily for them more than made up for the rather questionable defense.

Outlook: It should come as no surprise that the Hawks kept the forward duo of Alan Castanheira, who even celebrated his debut in the national team recently, and Greg Akwei intact while giving their defense a complete overhaul, bringing in players like Michael Herndon, Sakkari Maanta or Steven Padilla. Also worth mentioning is the sale of academy graduate Hale Amos straight to Lonngeylin Coast in Vilita, which makes him the first and only Tikariotian to play in this prestigious league.

Key players: Alan Castanheira is without a doubt the man to watch in the Vantanoch team. Not only did he score 22 goals in the Tikariot Second League, he also scored a goal in his debut in the national team and with a hopefully far more solid defense, the sky is the limit for this young player.

Background: Ancarea is an old steel town with a very blue collar feel. The Boars display this feel to a "t", being a workers' club that turned professional. With teams such as Tikariot City, Kyethas or Veriasod hailing from the same province, they draw a fair amount of fans from the Dhaencunor/Emerald Coast/Paladon borderlands and are in a fierce competition with Eivora Athletic, who are their closest competitors geographically. With only four seasons under their belt, the Ancarea FC is one of the two least experienced teams in the league, the other being Ysgrann Bay, and they have been perennial stragglers trying to stave off relegation.

Previous season: For the fourth season in a row the Boars have been struggling against relegation for almost the whole season. Despite a great start they settled in the bottom third quickly, but on a more positive note, though, they were on a relegation spot only twice during the whole season.

Outlook: Losing goalkeeper Winston Ahlgren to Fadrön Flight in Taeshan and their best goal scorer Thomas Holasoff to the Philtront Pioneers of Kohnhead was a big blow for the Ancareans that they have tried to compensate for by one of the biggest shopping sprees of the TPL, at least quantitatively. The biggest signing came at the very end when they managed to lure Banijan Mazi Chidea from the Busembe Timberwolves, who they will be looking at for leadership in what promises to be yet another battle against relegation.

Key players: Other than Chidea with his immense experience people will look at Archer Nguyen and Jean-Carlo Fiske in an attempt to keep opponents at bay in front of academy graduate Matthias Prediger and Relyea and Keslomal to see, if they will be able to provide enough firepower to win games.

Background: The Ysgrann Bay Eagles are one of the newest teams to enter the Tikariot Premier League. They made a name for themselves in the lower league for their all-out attacking style ever since their founding and with that gained a wide fanbase all across the nation and allowing them to finally step out of the shadow of the Ysgrann Bay Yetis, the local gridiron football team.

Previous season: Their second season in the TPL proved to be a lot more successful than their first one and for a while they were even in the top third of the table, enthusing fans with their devil-may-care offensive game, which led to a lot of high-scoring games. Unfortunately for them the defensive deficiencies cost them too many games to keep pushing the higher-ups and the Eagles ended up in the lower end of the table, without any relegation worries, though. It also was the breakthrough season for striker Iain Aspinall, whose 21 goals earned him a spot in the Tikariotian national team, where he has become a mainstay.

Outlook: Retaining the services of both Aspinall and Jenson McTierney could prove to be a coup, looking at the competition they had, and management has tried to bolster these young men's offensive prowess with a stronger support cast than last season. The whole defense was replaced, bringing in players from Græntfjall, South Newlandia, Saviglione and Murphtannia in an attempt to fill the holes. The key signing, though could be Brenecian central midfielder Troy Clemence coming in on a free transfer who could make a big difference in keeping Ysgrann Bay safe once more.

Key players: Most eyes will be on Clemence as well as McTierney and Aspinall to carry the team as experienced lynchpin in midfield and two of Tikariot's "Young Guns", who have been tearing up the league offensively. Clemence's more defensive role could be crucial in stemming the flood of conceded goals that marred last season.

Image Michael Skoufis (new from Avanaroch White Wings FC academy Image)

Background: Avanaroch is the fourth largest city in Tikariot and also the capital of the province of Paladon. It is one of the five major sea ports of Tikariot, heavily involved in the export of both ores and manufactured goods from the heartland of Paladon and beyond. The Avanaroch White Wings were one of the founding members of the TPL, but only managed one title in the 70 years they spent in the top flight and the last time they managed to crack the top 12 was 65 years ago!

Previous season: Despite a decent start it was business as usual for the White Wings, sitting in the bottom quadrant of the table for most of the season with a few stints on a relegation spot. While the defense was far from stellar, having scored the second least goals in the league was the main area of concern with Thomas Corkhill responsible for almost half of them.

Outlook: Obviously tired of lurking in the murky depths of the table, White Wings management has decided to go all out on the transfer market and as a consequence of that have a completely new starting eleven. There are some highly interesting youngsters in the squad, plus a veteran defender to hold the younguns together, but it remains to be seen, how long it will take the coach to form a unit out of all the new pieces.

Key players: Brenecian defender Garwyn Varney will be looked at to provide guidance and leadership, given the average age of barely over 21 years outside of him. Another two players that will be in the spotlight are academy product Liam Dawson in midfield and forward Boudewijn van der Heide, the first Garifunyan to play abroad.

Background: Xanark City has been THE team of Xark ever since their inception. Despite the city participating in every other major league in Tikariot, City are just the province's team, the one they all really behind. Despite 0 championships in 85 seasons in the TPL, Xanark is known to fill stadiums all across Tikariot, partially due to the surprisingly large Xarkian diaspora all across the country. They see themselves as a people's club and the people have accepted that.

Previous season: After sitting in 12th position at the halfway point, the Dragons mounted a tremendous effort in the later stages of the Tikariot Second League to clinch 3rd spot and with that the immediate return to the TPL, on the last match day in an extremely tight race.

Outlook: As opposed to many other teams in the lower part of the table, or fellow promoted teams, Xanark did not enact wholesale changes to the starting eleven, keeping the majority of the core intact and instead specifically targeting players to enhance the team, which might be a smart idea to avoid having problems with a lack of team cohesion. Experts are pretty unanimous that Xanark seems to be the strongest of the four promoted teams with the bset chances of avoiding immediate relegation again.

Key players: Two players have been singled out as the players to watch, that being Ethanian midfielder Alexander Kjaer, who has been brought in as the director in midfield and young Thibaean striker Yvon Judicaël that the Dragons are putting a lot of hopes on despite being virtually unknown so far.

Background: Guillarim is the capital of the mountainous province of Frahaul and in that fiercely independent. The Blades are the city's (and with that province's) most cherished club and their following is fervent and proud. This goes so far that they refuse to sign players from outside of Frahaul, but completely rely on their own academy and the diaspora. This is likely one of the reasons why the team has never managed to hoist the championship trophy, but with 92 years in the TPL they are one of the oldest and in a way most successful clubs in the league.

Previous season: Almost as usual the season has been a struggle, with several weeks spent in the relegation zone, but towards the end they pulled themselves out of the danger zone to finish a somewhat comfortable 15th. Their main issue, though, was the offense with the fourth least goals scored, which was not enough to supplement their good defense.

Outlook: The "Frahulian only" policy is definitely an issue when dealing with a league that has opened its borders, however they were able to sign a few players with Frahulian roots, such as Ashton Tomlinson or Kilian Andrews, while Yosvani Fernández is a very promising prospect coming out of their own academy. Still it is going to be another rough season, they do, however have a couple of players that show plenty of promise that maybe, just maybe this season might be better than the last.

Key players: Other than Fernández and Tomlinson it is especially Ximon Bergstrand and Xebastian Lorenskog that are giving Blades fans hope for the immediate and also further future as these two academy products show plenty of promise (even though their first names indicate that they are technically of Xarkian origin).

Background: The Dhun Lagarr FC has been one of the main topics of discussion of the off season. Following Gamsk County being refused the professional licence for the next season, the community owned and run FC put in a bid for the TPL spot of Gamsk and was promptly awarded their ticket into the TPL. It was a controversial move by the TPL not to allow 21st placed Zhelmagor to stay in the league, but the Bulls are intent on proving that they are not just another artificial commercial construct trying to find quick success, but are an actually responsible club.

Previous season: None.

Outlook: While a few players were retained from Gamsk, this season is one of great unknowns for Dhun Lagarr. The player material would indicate that they should be comfortably residing in the middle of the pack, but they might actually surprise everybody and maybe aim for the top third.

Key players: Paulin Bourguignon from Reçueçn is likely the by far biggest signing for Dhun Lagarr and brings everything the team could be looking for. Despite being a left back, he has already shown a lot of assertiveness and leadership that this team definitely can use. Other than him, Raymond Mattheis, Yoneda Toshikuni and Hamish Stainthorpe will be looked towards as occupying key positions within the team.

Background: One of the two big mining towns of Tikariot, the other one being Oriannor, Bul Khungur is defined by its large mining operations. Also due to its remote location, the football team (Bul Khungur Miners FC) and the hockey team (Bul Khungur Blizzard) are the main focus in the 142,000 people city. The Miners originated as a loose formation of workers of the various mines in the area and now are one of only six remaining founding members that have never been relegated from the TPL. They have been struggling in the last ten years and hovered just above the relegation zone for good parts of last season.

Previous season: After a great start, the Miners completely caved in and battled against relegation instead of aiming for higher goals. Speaking of goals, while they scored aplenty, they also conceded the second most goals after Ysgrann Bay, which had almost desastrous consequences. Northwest Kalactanian coach Edmundo Sturgill was signed midseason to save whatever was saveable and he did a great job pulling the pieces of the team together.

Outlook: Management dug deep, really deep to ensure that a breakdown like last season will not happen again. They did not sign one or two, but four HUElavian national team players in a never seen before deal, clearly showing the very high ambitions of the Miners for the new season. Given how much was invested, this is a do or die situation that will require a lot of strong coaching.

Key players: Arguably the HUElavian quartet and also Juvencus' Júlien Cantù are all promising exciting football out of the Temple of the Crow.

Background: Out of the three Silicon Triangle clubs, the Firebirds have traditionally been the financially most well-off club and throughout history it showed as they have the second most TPL championships with ten, one behind Morannon Athletic FC. A good part of their following comes from the tech sector, which makes for a vastly different fan clientele than the gastronomy backed Vantanoch FC and manufacturing town Miruan's City.

Previous season: In one word: Disastrous. Going into the season as back-to-back champions, the Firebirds never managed to get above 7th position and were stuck in the lower to middle pack of the league, which led to legend Aloysius Harrygate to be reactivated to right the ship and as ancient his coaching methods are, he did manage to get the Firebirds at least into 10th spot in the end.

Outlook: Parakleion lost two very important player in the aftermath, national team captain Rory McNair signed with Alnio from Chromatika, while striker talent Addison Gray went to Eura to join the Old Boys Club. Academy graduate Pierre Sukunda has been penciled in to fill McNair's shoes, which is a tall order, but bringing in Euran Fraser Wheatley, Græntfjall's Hlégestur Snæþórsson or Gabriel Schneyder-Dillio from Quebec shows that they are willing to invest money to get the club back on track. And new Savigliano coach Marco Giuliani is seen as the exact right man to realize it.

Key players: Pierre Sukunda. If he manages to adapt to the TPL quickly, he could be a fitting replacement for Rory McNair, if not, the Firebirds might be in trouble.

Background: Tracing its roots back to the early days of the Kyethas Institute of Medicine, and with that the nickname Wisemen, the Kyethas Rivermen were among the second wave of TPL teams, entering the league after its opening to other clubs other than the founding members. After a very rocky start where they were lucky more than once that the TPL remained a closed league for several years, they established themselves as one of the TPL's absolute premier clubs, only finishing outside the top 10 seven times in the last 50 (!) years.

Previous season: Similar to the Parakleion Firebirds and even taking it one step further, the Rivermen's season was an almost absolute disaster, spending good amounts of the season in the relegation zone and actually only getting out of a relegation spot on the very last match day of the season.

Outlook: As the whole club, from management to the fans, was extremely disappointed with the way the team conducted itself last season, they went down the 'full overhaul' route. This began with Laurent Chambéry taking over the reins very early in the off-season, giving him an opportunity to have a say in the composition of the new team and they managed to land some outstanding transfers, such as Tiog midfielder Ajufue Lorokelo, Flavovespian duo David Blythe and Marc Sharratt as well as three Savigliani, which should be enough to at the very least keep the Rivermen away from the relegation zone.

Key players: A lot of hopes are being put into academy graduate Francisco Esquivel, who already had some call-ups into the national team, as well as Ajufue Lorokelo, who is seen as the maybe most important puzzle piece in getting the Rivermen back on course.

Background: Located on the south side of the Emerald Coast, Carathyr is the main trading port of Tikariot, forming a major supply chain hub in northern and central Rushmore. The Emeralds are the biggest and oldest of the many sports clubs of Carathyr, the others being the Emerald Coast Raiders that just got promoted to the TPL and the Carathyr AFC in football, hockey's Emerald Guard, the Phantoms from baseball, the lacrosse Clash and gridiron's Crusaders, and also are one of the select few clubs to have all 100 seasons under their belt. Their heyday is long past, though, and they have spent more time in the lower half of the table than the upper for the best part of the last decades.

Previous season: After a weak start they sat in the top 5 for several weeks before descending into the grey middle of the table that they never managed to escape again. They also were mediocre in terms of goals scored and goals conceded, making the Emeralds truly grey.

Outlook: It was clear that mediocrity would not fly in Carathyr, so the club splashed out some well aimed money instead of just trying to throw it everywhere, resulting in a rare opportunity of signing one of the much coveted Kandorese players that had caused such an uproar during the World Cup. By keeping the team core intact, management hopes to get results quickly and experts see the Emeralds definitely have a better season than last year.

Key players: Without a doubt left midfielder Yukitaka Yamaguchi, who management and fans alike look towards for strokes of genius when it comes to inspiring a resurgence.

Background: Eivora in the north eastern corner of the Emerald Coast province is seen as the gate to the peninsula, at least on land. Its strategic location has made it an important point in the southern Tikariotian supply chain. Eivora Athletic are one of the two last remaining original expansion teams (the other being Kyethas) and are the most successful one as well. They had a somewhat mediocre season stuck in the no-man's land of the midfield, but managed to crown it with winning the first ever Cup of Tikariot.

Previous season: Another underperforming team that had hoped for a top-third finish and instead struggled throughout the season. While never in relegation danger, they were stuck in the middle of the table pretty much all season. However there was one wholly remedying factor, which was their victory in the Cup of Tikariot, which, despite their 11th position finish, qualified them for the international tournaments.

Outlook: While obviously the win of the Cup was a great success, the Griffins do not want to go through another season of mediocrity in the league. The signing of some select international players, such as Blagureka Markić, Zoban Ajao or Tristan van de Wal shows that they want to gradually improve the team instead of staging a revolution and with a very balanced starting eleven they are on a good way to get back into the top 10 at the very least.

Key players: Rekan Blagureka Markić has been placed into the role of midfield motor, a position that despite his young age he has proved in the past he is capable of playing. If he can adjust to the TPL, Eivora's future could look quite golden.

Background: Hailing from the second biggest port city of Acrassia, after the capital Alcassar, Port Tacassam has a rich background as trading town throughout the centuries. Due to Balkash's lack of a big port city, Port Tacassam is the main hub for exports from that province and has prospered from it. The Port Tacassam FC is the pride and joy of the city, with five championships and an excellent string of top third table results.

Previous season: With the exception of a little slump at the beginning, the Rams have been in the top part of the table all season, for a while even in the international spots, which they in the end missed. Despite having been dubbed a favourite for the championship before season 100, the fans have been reasonably happy with the performance of the team.

Outlook: The team with the least transfers in the whole league, it is obvious that management is trying to build on continuity and consistency instead of revolutionizing things. The few signings they made, though, are of high calibre, such as Twicetagrian midfielder Davidov Romanevskiy, Kandorese Hikoshige Matsushita and keeper Olliuier le Duc from Oberour ar Moro. Experts see them on a good way of consolidating their efforts and aiming higher than last season.

Key players: The three Tikariotian national team players Coronello, Al Hak and Grimaud form the foundation of the team with Davidov Romanevskiy seen as the missing link in midfield to lead this team to greatness once more.

Background: Valnohar is an industrial town in south western Paladon that has seen better days after a severe accident at a chemical plant shut down good parts of the industrial sector. People flocked to the local sports teams as a distraction and even as things are slowly normalizing economically, the stadium is filled to the brim at every game.

Previous season: It was a through and through forgettable season. From the abysmal start to the mediocre middle to the unspectacular finish. It definitely was a clear sign of the Rovers' popularity that despite this the team's support never waned.

Outlook: Bringing in players such as Kelssekian right back Caelin Vinter and New Lusitan João Palhagueira has been seen as a huge coup for the league to enhance team around national team players Franklin McHugh, Alvin Howett and Nathan Ekpetita, instantly making Valnohar a competitor for a spot in international business next season.

Key players: João Palhagueira is an exciting player that could make the difference in feeding Ekpetita and Huayramarcan Gabriel Sayritupac to score.

Background: Balkash is often called the "liquor store" of Tikariot and it has the by far highest concentration of distilleries, vineyard and breweries, which supplement the also strong agricultural sector of the province. Baraldhur is the central hub for the distribution of all of these products and with that is one of the strongest Tikariotian cities financially. The Baraldhur AFC has been one of the most successful teams of the past 15 years with five championships during this time. Since the last one in season 95, though, they have seen a quite dramatic drop off that saw a lot of signs of reversal in the last season, when they were in second position for good parts of the season.

Previous season: Being in second and third position for most of the season they finished with only four wins out of the last 24 match days, showing that things did not quite go as planned. There were a lot of calls for coach Goldman's head and after the season he was relieved from his duties

Outlook: Bringing in Rakvar Pavlyukovets as new coach from the Squornshelan Remnant States was the first step and both him and management believe that three key signings will be enough to extend their winning ways with Zwangzugian centre back Lissa Crain, the first woman to ever sign a TPL contract, Mavinet's Tran Hoang Minh and Michelangelo Santini from Juvencus in midfield.

Key players: Experts believe that the signing of Tran Hoang Minh is the main man in Baraldhur's plot to maybe go for their eighth championship as he combines skill and experience to lead some of the young guns such as Nighthorse, Stephenson, McIlroy and Askebrand.

Background: The Tikariot City FC is one of the clubs closely connected to the Tikariotian independence as it was one of the hotbeds for the freedom fighters, who were able to meet under the pretense of playing football. Which they obviously did as well. Despite being one of the most popular teams of the country, they also are one of the most disliked, probably for that reason. Together with Guillarim and Xanark they are one of the three teams with the most years in the TPL to yet have to win a championship.

Previous season: Going into the season with the intention of consolidating themselves in midfield, they surprised many by occupying one of the international qualification slots for good parts of the season, just running out of steam towards the end of the season. They also were the only team to take the spot at the top of the table away from Port Rhovanyon, even if just for one week.

Outlook: Despite the good run, TCFC management went for a complete overhaul of the squad and after the dust settled, only one Tikariotian is standing in the projected starting eleven. However they did not just sign players for the sake of bringing in international talent, but players likd Aldrige, Hutchins, Ferradura, Osfomilúo, Chapman or Katano are all considered cream of the crop and it is all in the hands of coach Clayton Venantius now to form them into a cohesive unit. If he manages that, literally the sky is the limit for this team.

Key players: Given the start studded power the Snowy Owls will be fielding this season, it is difficult to pinpoint one single key player, but Preston Chapman pulling the strings in midfield and Dalton Aldrige helming the three-centre back defense are projected to be the main players to watch out for.

Background: One of the TPL's most historied clubs, the Oriannor Mountaineers are the oldest club in Tikariot. Playing in the Mountain Fortress stadium that was built into a mountain side, they have been called the "Pride of Khazagh" many times. 7 times champions that are currently leading Bul Khungur and Carathyr in the all-time table and intend to keep this position.

Previous season: The Mountaineers went off on a somewhat rocky start to the season, but soon settled into the top quarter of the table, occupying international qualification positions for most of the season.

Outlook: Keeping the vast majority of the team's core intact and bringing in specific improvements to the squad was the way Oriannor's management decided to go given the strong showing last season. Especially the two central defense after Eren Knox's transfer to Banija was focused on, which should strengthen an already strong defensive unit.

Key players: Other than the national team players Rowley, Cartwright and Sweeney the focus definitely will be on Gré Arceneaux and Juan Esnáider as centre backs, which are intended to fortify the Fortress, so to say.

Background: Since the beginning the Lakers had a difficult position, having to go against the popularity of Tikariot City FC and the Kyethas Rivermen. They always were a bit like the third wheel, which now has grown even more difficult with Dhun Lagarr in the fray, but they managed to extend their fanbase into TPL teamless Soharr and northern Paladon. And they seem to be comfortable in their role as perennial underdog against the big city clubs, which has also brought them a surprisingly large amount of fans across the nation.

Previous season: While not managing to qualify for the IFCF competitions, the Lakers ended up as the best Dhaencunorian team, which made their fans happy. They also had the second best defence in the league, which aided their successful campaign.

Outlook: Similar to other teams towards the top of the table, the Lakers also kept their key players in place, but ramped things up around them, with two Vdarans making the trip to Tikariot. If they can keep their great team spirit going with the new signings, then the Lakers could very well compete for their first ever title.

Key players: Lloyd Cumbernauld has been singled out as the Wolves' most important player, being able to direct the game and pull the rest of his team mates with him, not unlike he has proved many times in the national team as well.

Image Odon Gastaud (new from L'Escarene SC Image)

Background: The roots of the Pyathora Mariners lies within the Tikariotian Navy that has its biggest base just at the edge of Pyathora. This also has guaranteed a great following at least in other port cities where the Navy is stationed. It took them a while to be admitted to the TPL, but within only 33 seasons they have amassed 6 TPL championships, which is the best ratio of the whole league.

Previous season: After a little wonky start the Mariners established themselves as a top side in the season late in the first half of the season and cemented their runner-up spot behind Port Rhovanyon, keeping the opponents at bay with ease and also a very good balance between offense and defense.

Outlook: The Mariners have pulled off what many are considering the biggest transfer coup of the window, landing Astograthian striker Olantzaro Karazatorre in what is widely seen as a clear sign that they do not want to come in second again. This is underlined by TJUN'ian Maximilan Robertson in goal, Tequiloan Menaute de Torres, Matthias Raphaelsson from neighbouring Græntfjall‌ and Tiog Kogruam Lupauro, completing a very aggressive transfer period.

Key players: There is no way Karazatorre is not going to be under huge media scrutiny and he brings literally everything to the table that one could look for in a forward. Together with Sheffield and Lupauro the Mariners could be an offensive machine this season!

Background: Like the other teams from the Silicon Triangle Miruan City's roots also are in the industrial side of things. In their case it started as a worker's team of the Voroya Cars factory, which then spun off into a club of its own. They are technically the smallest club of the three, yet they seem to have the widest fanbase across the nation.

Previous season: With the exception of Port Rhovanyon and Morannon, Miruan has likely been the most consistent team last season. For the last 21 match days they hovered between 7th and 10th position, which was neither fish nor fowl. They did, however, score the most goals of all teams, which did earn them a spot in the prestigious Vilitan International.

Outlook: Despite losing the 26 goals of Ellis Wagstaff to Tikariot City FC, they brought in Sargossan Diego Cazalla and Quebecois Benoit Djaozandry to compensate. To bolster the defense and thus attempt to reach for the IFCF qualifiers they brought in the Tequiloan duo of Davide Sandino and Baptiste Ndosi.

Key players: While not spectacular in any way, Nicholas van Haar is the anchor of the team. Uncompromising in tackles, great tactical acumen, just a few too many cards, but he has a strong influence over the team!

Background: Port Rhovanyon AFC was founded by dockworkers in the Port Rhovanyon harbour and began to play loose friendly matches around the city and the Rhovannyr province. They were one of the founding members of the Tikariot Premier League, even though success eluded them for a long time. It took them 70 years to break into the top five for the first time, but in the 30 years since then they have been outside of the top ten only five times.

Previous season: With the exception of one single match day the Kraken held the top position and won the championship with a 10-point margin. That pretty much sums up the whole season.

Outlook: The team lost Brian Merson to Banija, but immediately hauled in none other than Bengt Palmgroen of Ko-oren fame and then added Ha Van Thao from Mavinet's national team for their defense and called it a day. Needless to say that they are the number one favourite for the title again.

Key players: It is hard to single out players, because the team has such a uniform high level, but Marvin Thorniley is the puller of strings in the national team and also has been orchestrating most attacks for the Kraken.

Background: Located on the border to Acrassia, Anhedron has build a reputation as way-stop for cross country travelers, merchants and tourists all alike. An elevator for a long time, they have finally caught their stride and their increasing success has been drawing fans from the more rural areas around the border. Last season they recorded their best position ever in their 27th year in the TPL and with that a spot in the IFCF's Challengers's Cup.

Previous season: After a bad start the Wanderers ended the season on an amazing run of ten wins in a row, securing them a trip to the IFCF and their best result in the TPL ever. The season also saw the emergence of the M&Ms attack of Jesson Morrison and Franklin Mosnyk who accounted for 44 goals between the two of them.

Outlook: By focusing on the only area that required help, that being the defense, the Wanderers kept the team core that had managed the incredible run at the end of last season intact and addressed what could have been the only element standing between them and their first ever title. This could be the season and Cai Woods and Ochoa Abril might be just what they needed.

Key players: Despite the overall high-carat cast, the M&Ms are the focal point of Anhedron's play and by bringing in Tobias Grandelius from their own academy their offensive firepower could be through the roof.

The first match day of the Tikariot Premier League's 101st season is in the books and it definitely had somem surprises in store. The maybe biggest came in the likely most anticipated one with the reigning champions Port Rhovanyon AFC meeting with Baraldhur AFC and what a game it was, even though definitely not the expected way as the Phantoms wiped the floor with the Kraken sweeping them 4-0. Mavinese new signing Tran Hoang Minh set things off with two first-half goals before having to be substituted early in the second half with a thigh contusion, which will see him missing the next match. However it had no positive effect on Port Rhovanyon as Morris Nighthorse and Jonathan Carlin doubled the score for a more than convincing win that puts them into the second position of the table.

The prestigious first first place of the season, though, goes to Miruan City, who pulled off a 5-1 win over the Ysgrann Bay Eagles. Aided by 41th minute red card for Græntfjall defender Arnold Tronsson the Lions scored three goals in the last five minutes in an ultimately far too high victory given the gameplay. Another game with a surprising result was Bul Khungur's attempt to make fans forget last season when they hosted their arch rivals Oriannor. The Mountaineers, third placed last season, fell behind early when Juvencus midfielder Júlien Cantù converted a Lamar Hall cross with a beautiful volley right under the crossbar, not leaving Stu Harding a chance to get a hand on the ball. Cantù doubled the lead in the 37th minute, however the Mountaineers managed to put the game even before half time with a quick double strike by Cartwright and Christie. In the end it was Ashleigh Sweeney converting a Reid Sivek corner to make it 4-3 and giving the completely revamped Miners a great start to the season.

As usual all eyes are on the promoted team at the beginning of a season and the results were quite different. Xanark and Vilharady managed to beat their first games over Kyethas and Guillarim (who also lost Jack Attacora for several weeks with a torn hamstring), while Vantanoch and Emerald Coast dropped their points against Eivora and Veriasod respectively.

Obviously the table does not mean anything yet, but at least so far it seems to promise a very tight and exciting season.
