Boot It!: Bienvenue à Omerique!

Name: TJUN-ia
Trigram: TJU
Football Association: FA-TJUN-ia
Nickname: Jaguars (official)/Jags (short form)/Blue and Orange (commonly-used informal)/Draw Masters (satirical)
WCC Ranking: 72nd (11.57)
IAC Ranking: 16th (4.571)

Bonjour, et Bienvenue au dixième Championnat des associations indépendantes! Hello, and welcome to the tenth Independent Associations Championship! Or Cup. No matter what you want to call it, IAC10 (or IACX) has arrived at the United Republics of Omerica. As you all know, this is the competition for footballing nations outside of the "Big 3": Atlantian Oceania, Esportiva and Rushmore. You may also remember the last IAC in HUElavia, where the Jags made an unexpected run to the quarterfinals before being knocked off by eventual champions New Lusitania and the Algarves. That great run, plus our recent performance at the Cup of Harmony, means that the new IAC ranking system places us 16th overall. That is enough to place us in Pot 2 of the competition, a feat many would have dreamed of all those years ago. But now we have a target on our backs as the team to try and beat, especially in the group we have been drawn in. Can the Draw Masters slither their way to knockout football again? It might be a challenge, but it is one this team will be up for!

TEAM

David Seems and Li Xiu Ying are back, as always, and they're ready for an interesting tournament. Seems wasn't at the last IAC, but he agreed to be in Omerica on the request of his assistant. Li thinks that it will be better if he is at this tournament, as it can be used for tactical development while not affecting WCC rank that much. With some of the Galarians being sent to the Di Bradini for development purposes, the age of on TJUN-ian teams sheets is near the end. 2 new players from that tournament will be too old for the next one, center-back Mohammad Malsharma and midfielder Manu Kepelewako, and so they have joined the senior side to get some experience of high-tier football. They certainly could turn into stars, but how could depend on if their talents in the 4-2-3-1 of PvO can also be utilised in Seems' 4-3-3.

As for the rest of the players, some of them have been granted more opportunities to play. The rest of the starting 11, along with Prince Carter and Archer Andrews, had their names added to the domestic transfer market and all of them have found new clubs across the multiverse. It is expected that by the next transfer window, all remaining TJUN-ian players without a domestic club will be entered into the market by FA-TJUN-ia. The eventual plan will be to use performances in domestic competitions in order to bring the team sheet down to the traditional 23 players, with the rest used as reserves in case of injury. Therefore, the subs will be important as they try and sell themselves to the international community in both this tournament and the WCC cycle next year.

TROLLEBORG NATIONAL TEAM

Nickname: Trolls
Record in WCQ +20=12-12, goals 97:76.
Record in IAC +1=0-2, goals 4:6.
Total record in official games: +38=16-19

Football is a prime sport for a country, with a 129th league season in progress. But lively discussion is ongoing about are it is worth to play international games.

Trolleborg has rather checkered history in football: team won Baptism of Fire tournament and having a very good press due to quality of game, but make rather unconsequental debute in World Cup Qualifying with some very puzzling results. Then Trolleborg missed playoffs in the Cup of Harmony just by razor-thin margin, but after that was badly and completely inexplicably mauled in IAC. Then Pan-Pacific Cup arrive, and team showed here an exceptionally high-quality game, before the sudden, completely unexpected and traumatic exit in the semifinal from the hands of newbie Anserisa team, which deliver us devastating defeat. Fans waiting for WC85 campaign with understandable caution, altough Trolleborg put more then decent performance, finished 3rd just two point short of qualification, by way drop more than enough points in a games with a clearly weaker opponents. Many hopes was placed on CoH77, but team game was rather disappointing. Either due to change to new defence scheme or to some other circumstances team in group stage looked very obscure, just barely clinging to a place in the playoffs, finding themselves at 32nd place overall. There, however, team initially showed a good quality of play, knocking out two very decent teams from the fight, and quite unexpectedly lost in the quarterfinals. Thus, we still cannot grasp the true capabilities of our team, but we hope for the best.

COACH

The team is still coached by Morten TROGHIL – 53 уears old triumphator of the BoF.

PLAYERS

After CoH there was a voices to make some additions to the squad, but nevertheless Troghil prefer to stick to his own vision. He add few new players, but looked like he is not in hurry to throw them at the field.

Goalkeepers
1. Tomas Kot Kotsson (28). Flexible and agile, quick-thinking, he, alas, don’t make miracles in the international games. He prove this in the every campaign up to date, unfortunately.
12. Klemens Gould (26). When he was called into the squad year ago, some pundits predicted him moved Kotsson out of net, but he continued to be number two – reliable, cold in the heat, competent on the line, but, unfortunately, not much more.
23. Marten Windass (34). Experienced goalkeeper with a lot of talent. In the time, he was like a Kot Kotsson, and albeit now he wasn’t so fresh and fast as in his heyday, but he knows many secrets of goalkeeper trade. Because both other goalkeepers not progressed fast enough, there was a voices to replace him in his capacity of elder statesmen by someone else.

Defenders
2.Nikolaas Laste (29). He was reliable left back, who has a tendency going forward, but in the recent years prefer to concentrate on his defensive duties, which he does very successfully in the local championship, and only recently began to show something like that in the international games.
3.Kasper Wolters (26). One of the team brightest stars, he is right back by default, but he is very strong, very fast, have a very good shot and even better crossing skill. Having all this, he very often make a lighting runs to the opposition box and sometime substitute right midfielder. He create many opportunities for attacking players in the WC85 campaign, but looked absolutely out of game at CoH.
4.Torgeir Dushegub (29). Known as a Column, this tall and strong player usually dominates a box both in the air and at the grass. Being always calm and confidence, he projected aura of them around. Albeit in the local championship he often been seen in the opposition box when corner kick is played, in the international football he don’t make any runs forward, altough recently he make a moves into the opposition box, where create a really terrific situations together with Gulbranden on the corner kicks. His play at CoH looked rather paltry, and it will be seen, does he regain composure.
5. Aien Troger (26). He is fast, strongly build and extremely good in tackling. It’s very challenging to move into the box past him. His WC85 campagin is nothing short of brilliant, but he was looked not very good at CoH. His performance at the local championship, nevertheless, give us all hope that this was a temporary problem.
18. Torben Bagger (26). He was distinguished by composure and the right choice of position in the games of domestic championship, and he was called up to the national team due to the breakdown of the two key defence players, proved to be solid choice, but right now not much more.
14. Heiko Aldekamp (26). Useful addition to the team, can play both right and left defender, preferably first one, moving fast and tackling hard.
15. Morten Levenkrans (31). Full left back in the beginning of his career, he than move to the center, having considered almost impassable in both positions. Albeit right now not the fastest man on the field, he is very good man-marker, having excellent header and can be very useful when attacks began. He make six goal assistances in the WC85 campaign, and receive good press after CoH, one of the few players of the team to have one.
23. Morgens Hoyte(25). Recent addition to the squad, robust player with a real big stature due to the height and athletic appearance, he can covered a lot of ground fast and do this consistently. He see only a few minutes on the field in the WCQ85, but nevertheless continue provide a much needed backup for the main team players. He was not prove himself, though, at the CoH, where he have a plenty of chances to do this

Midfielders
6. Rolf Valgren (29). Quick-thinking, with a perfect understanding of game, seeing everyone and everything in the field, and with brilliant passing skills, this man can bring ball everywhere he wants. It is very possible, that he will be one of the greatest midfielders in the history of Trolleborg, have he not lacking some technique and speed. He definitely add something from international experience, but it will be seen, how much.
16. Hendrick Groningen (27). The defensive midfielder, probably the best in his generation, he was not selected to play in BoF and joined team by way, proved himself worthy of a place in the team, caused a lot of problems to the attacking players of the opposing teams. His talent of intercepting ball in the middle and using every possibility to begin attacks was fully appreciated by everyone – apart, probably, of his opponents.
8. Finn Finnsnes (28). He is only one in the whole selected team ever play abroad. He was one of the creators of the victory in the BoF, and try to make himself useful in the WCQ, but without much success, albeit he receive some positive mentions in foreign press. Beginning his career as a right midfield\right winger, now he play more like attacking midfielder. He is swift, smart, good dribbler and excelled in set-pieces.
9. Morten Troll (25). He is a brightest star amongst midfielders in the whole country. Genius of game, with a wonderful dribbling, beautiful technique, excellent pass and extremely good shot, he won many games for his local team single-handedly, but also a great team player. Highly probably, he will be a player of generation, and very probably, best player Trolleborg ever had. He brilliantly justified all the positive reviews of his game on the BoF, helping a team many times in difficult situations with its smart actions, and continue to do so in WCQ85. He did what he can at CoH, but played clearly below his capabilities, probably due to the change of tactical scheme.
7. Ruud Kolding (27). Left midfielder, covering lot of ground with his unbeliveable stamina, can press forwards or go back as team need. Albeit seen as a substitute, he won the hearts of fans and a strong place in the first team with his perfect game in the BoF matches, having retained it after WCQ84 and throught all calamities of IAC, PPC, WCQ85 and CoH.
19. Brutil Mogrin (28). Can play either in the center or as a right midfielder, with a nerves of steel and cold mind he will continue be a useful backup for any of the midfielders if need arise.
20. Alexander Bornitse Zach “Zhita” (27). Originated from the far-flung north part of the country, not well-known for a excellent players, he was an idol for his compatriots and find a place in the hearts of other fans. Almost devoid of what was known as classical football tecnique, have rather unusual style of play and often creates goal opportunities from nowhere. One example was BoF, when his visibly insane pass decided the outcome of the game in the quarterfinal. But he played quite pale in the WCQ and was dropped from the squad thereafter, but his workrate in the last two local championships give him a chance to return.
22. Mortimer Torquelston (25). Another man who managed to get into the team, although experts had questions about his game in friendly matches. Skillful winger, who can play at either right or left flank, very mobile and prove himself as a master in change direction of attacks. His game in the Pan-Pacific Cup was good, he was rather useful for a coach in WCQ85 campaign, but not prove himself a man of the day in the CoH.

Forwards
10. Stuart Kerr (29). Best sniper of the two of the last three championship, quick, brave, skillful, and having ability shot from everywhere in the box right despite defenders best efforts. Brilliantly confirmed his reputation as a prolific scorer, winning a prize for the topgoalscorer of BoF and add to his tally not a few goals in the other tournaments. But he missed good part of the last Trolleborg championship due to the trauma in the CoH game with Bolgano and its complications, and only at last Pan-Pacific Cup demonstrated something like game we are expected from him. In the WCQ85 he fully regain his position and reputation, altought his game in the last our championship looked not so bright.
11. Torfinn Skaloed (27). Intelligent forward as it was, he can move very quickly, constantly ahead of the defenders, successfully escapes from markers, and in case of need he often going back and successfully acquire ball here to begin attacks. In the BoF games, he was, though, play mainly in the role of power forward, not quite familiar to him, and it was not his best games and he is completely out of the game in the WCQ84, returned to the fore in the Pan-Pacific Cup and then was on and off in the games of WCQ85.
17. Tom Gulbranden (28). Build like a very tall stone wall, he easily can tramp defenders if he wish to do so, but his strong leg shot, without any preparation at all, give him other opportunity to have a points of popularity with fans. It is looked impossible, that a man of such a stature can bring himself in the air at all, but nevertheless he is – strongly jumping and struck the ball by the head with deadly precision. This is what he prove in the BoF games four time in nine games, but WCQ85 campaign was much less successfull for him, IAC games give us even less joy seeing at his actions, and only at Pan-Pacific Cup did he regularly featured in team squad and find a net often. WCQ85 seen him recovered from misfortunes and seven goals is speaking by themselves. Alas he was not find himself a place in the new tactical scheme, though.
21. Karsten Severin (24). This fast forward, who can conjured goal from nothing, are quite impressive in the last four seasons, and he has not scored less than 12 goals in any of them, but it is not yet clear how successfully he will compete with already proven players. At the Pan-Pacific Cup he played real good but was used only as a backup in WCQ85 and CoH.
24. Henrik Heggheim(23). This forward showed great promise from an early age, did not make it to the last Di Bradini Cup due to just having his 21th birthday before the tournament, and did not surpass the candidates for the national team in skill until recently. But the quality of his game caught the attention of the national team coach, and while many experts ask if he is good enough, Morten Troghil decide to give him a chance. If he hits the field for Omerica, he will become the youngest player in the history of the national team.

Looked like head coach continue his experiment with defence, trying to weld solid defensive work with a strong teamwork and apply pressing whatever on the field when ball is not on our side.

OUR FANS

Fans is a pride of Trolleborg and almost part of the team. Having already earning themselves a name and a good reputation at every place where national team playing last year be it basketball, hockey, rugby or football, they surely will make their presence seen and felt everywhere games will be held, with their usual pastimes like marching with songs, waving flags, try local cuisines, putting cultural performances and trying involve everyone around in all of this. They will give out some Trolleborg memorabilia like a ribbons, buttons, scarves and so on. As already become tradition, we ask host countries to allow a parade of fans with a live music before each game and a places for series of exhibitions devoted to gastronomy, culture and national traditions of our country. Also we ask allocate us some space in the hosting cities to make an exhibition of our cultural heritage and traditions with some traditional sport contests for a local citizens.

RP permissions: Your RP permissions are mine, short of death and career-ending injuries. If I can send off your players, you can send off mine. If your players can’t be booked, neither can mine. If I can invade the Earth Kingdom, destroy the Southern Water Tribe and wipe out the Air Nomads in the name of spreading the prosperity of the Fire Nation to the entire world, so can you. Just make it funny/entertaining, if you don’t mind. ;)
Pandemic disclaimer: As I am sure most people are aware, Omerica recently has been affected by an epidemic of Maxtopian Pox. This epidemic does not and will not extend outside Omerican borders and will not impact any international football games, nor will it form the basis of any long-term roleplay arcs on my part.

However, I will not be recognising the existence of any international pandemics. This does not mean that I will not recognise the existence of disease outbreaks in other countries (largely in the interest of not being a hypocrite), but these will be construed as a series of unrelated outbreaks that do not extend beyond the borders of nations that accept their existence. These outbreaks will not under any circumstances extend to or from the United Republics of Omerica and any attempt to introduce new disease outbreaks to Omerica will be immediately nullified by the Federal Secretariat for Defence’s “Instantaneous Godmode Neutralisation by Optimised Revision of Events” (I.G.N.O.R.E) system.

I apologise to anyone who has been affected in any way by the COVID-19 pandemic. I recognise that the Maxtopian Pox epidemic may be considered disrespectful, insulting or distasteful. If, for whatever reason, you do not wish to acknowledge its existence, I will respect your decision. I wish anyone currently afflicted with COVID-19 a speedy recovery and anyone struggling as a result of the pandemic the best. <3

A federation in the far north, Omerica is a cosmopolitan maritime nation, famed for its environmental beauty, thriving black markets and love of a good drink. Omerica is a federal parliamentary republic with a semi-direct democratic system of governance. An influential country in international affairs, the nation ranks as one of the most politically and socially free states in the multiverse. The nation is noted for having some of the most friendly, compassionate and brash people in the multiverse, who enjoy high rates of economic, scientific and cultural development. The nation is rated as one of the least corrupt and least authoritarian in the world, with low rates of ignorance, obesity, political apathy and preventable death.

About the Incorrigibles
Association code: OME
Provisional IAC ranking: 10th (7.317)
All-time record: 139–73–126 (41.1% win rate; 1.45 points per game)
IA Championship record: 17–7–9 (51.5% win rate; 1.76 points per game)
Record under George Kostas: 17–10–15 (40.5% win rate; 1.45 points per game)

Drawkians and Reçueçians may consider it slightly overdue, but the Independent Associations Championship has finally arrived in the United Republics, three cycles after the country’s national team became the sixth team to win the IAC title. Of the 157 nations to have ever contested the Championship, only five teams—Abanhfleft, Drawkland, Devonta, Juvencus and Space—have appeared as or more often les Incorrigibles and, with eight consecutive appearances, only Abanhfleft and Drawkland hold the distinction of appearing in more consecutive IACs than Omerica.

Omerica’s national football team first took part in this unique competition in its third edition hosted by Spaam and Kel Assuk, but it was not until a shock run to the Grand Final of IAC 6—achieved in spite of a 3–0 hammering at the hands of Kavagrad in the group stage—that Omerica were taken seriously as Championship title-contenders. Omerica would go on to win the Championship in the IAC’s first Grand Final rematch at the Seven Stars Stadium, but opted to break a four-cycle run of titleholder-hosts and become the first team since Bonesea to defend the title abroad.

This—combined with the shock resignation of Anne-Sophie Groothuis—turned out terribly for the Incorrigibles, who have not appeared in a quarterfinal since that magical Grand Final victory. The team will now be looking to the home crowd to propel them back into the late stages of the Championship, buoyed by a three-cycle streak of Grand Finals featuring host nations.
Staff
Manager: George Kostas (age 57; b. Falconhurst, Strathavon)
Former interim manager of the Incorrigibles after Christine Salmond’s forced resignation, Kostas came back to the national team off a relatively successful stint at his hometown club Falcon United. True to his place a striker during his time in the Omerica shirt, Kostas is known for being a traditional, attack-oriented Omerican strategist, favouring the three-person attack which propelled Omerica up the ranks in the nation’s earliest international years. Now, after a middling last sixteen performance at the Cup of Harmony, Kostas will seek to excise the daemons of his octofinal and group stage exits in Reçueçn and Huelavia respectively.

Kits (expertly crafted by ediraf)
Due to the clerical error which precluded Omerica’s participation in the previous World Cup, the URSF and ediraf have agreed to extend the deal originally made ahead of IAC 7 to the end of the Cup of Harmony at the earliest, fulfilling the requirement for the Incorrigibles to wear the design for at least three World Cup cycles. The Incorrgibles will display one bronze star on the right shirt sleeve to symbolise their triumph at IAC 7 in Drawkland; any theoretical future World Cup or Cup of Harmony titles would likewise be worn on the sleeve instead of the usual position above the crest.

Your RP permissions are mine, short of death and career-ending injuries. If I can send off your players, you can send off mine. If your players can’t be booked, neither can mine. If I can have Diglett pop out from under the pitch during the match, so may you. Just make it funny/entertaining, if you don’t mind. ;)

If I haven’t posted a starting eleven for a particular game, please assume that the standard eleven are being used. You can feel free to make substitutions. (I will grant you that permission regardless of your own.)

Also, you are best off not taking HSOWA too seriously.

If you are looking for a team that likes playing beautiful attacking soccer, Hot Skitty on Wailord Action (HSOWA) is not for you. Hot Skitty players prefer the tactic of doing whatever is within their power to keep you from scoring and claiming a set piece to lock away the win later. Possession is key to the Hot Skitty playbook, with stellar defending a close second. If you do get the ball, however, expect a swarm of players ready to pry that ball away from you by whatever means possible. And for the love of the Helix Fossil, do not cede penalties to HSOWA. That will not end well.

Home - agave blue shirts with charcoal & white trim; agave blue shorts; white & agave blue hooped socks
Away - desert gold shirts; gold shorts & socks - all with agave blue & white trim.

In the sprawling, continent-spanning country of Tequilo - more formally the Allied States of Tequilo or PAT, Patrias Aliadas de Tequilo - football was traditionally a matter for the regional sports authorities. So large and geographically interesting is Tequilo, that it once was formed of nine nations - six Latinique former colonies of the Costelloan Empire and three Indigo city-state empires - who clubbed together as jolly good friends and neighbours to gang up on their dreadfully superior and bossy neighbour to the north, a place they prefer to call Horizonte Oscuro. Anyway that is a history lesson for another cutoff, but in terms of football - or Pitxi in the local dialect - like most things it remained governed on a local basis by the nine football associations. But recently, in an effort to improve the quality of the pitxi on offer (and not at all to make more money, nonono) the nine associations formed one national association, the Unión de Pitxi de Tequilo; and the UPT has formed a national play-off system to decide it's country's annual champion. The authorities also organised the first ever national youth tournament, the Liga-J under-19 league, won by Argón Tacranza.

Ambitiously, it also entered the new national team - which had never existed in all the time pitxi was played across the PAT - into the recent World Cup cycle. Inexperienced in such matters, the UPT has appointed foreign type Dik ten Beuenk, 88, as Team Director. Ten Beuenk oversaw the entry of the tiny Principality of Mustardy into the last World Cup, where an unremarkable campaign exploded into life with an away victory in South Covello, one of the modern giants of the game. That, and the fact that the Red Herrings were not thrashed pillar-to-post through qualifying, won the UPT over when looking for an experienced head to guide this inexperienced nation through a World Cup campaign. Under ten Beuenk and coaches Mauricio Nores for the Baptism of Fire and Isaac Martí for the rest of the cycle, the agave-blues impressed with a BoF third-placed bronze medal, a good showing in World Cup qualifying to finish fourth of 13 in the group, and reaching the knockout stages of the Cup of Harmony.

Now, under the guidance of ten Beuenk, the architect of football modernisation in Tequilo, the national team is looking to build on the success of the popular Liga-J by forming the squads of the future: they have taken an entry into the Under-18 World Cup, and have declared intention to field an under-23 team for the Independent Associations Championship, having opted not to compete in The Land of The Pointy Ears for the Under-21 World Cup.

Under Dik ten Beuenk’s plan, the new teams will also provide a path of success for the national team coaches and managers, with promotions for squad coaches and new opportunities for veteran players looking to move into the world of coaching. Current national team manager Isaac Martí is appointed Director of both junior teams, while his present assistants Juan Manuel Botín and Luka Entenza become head coaches of the under-18s and under-23s respectively. Two of the national team’s most prized veteran players, Callañuapa and Haize Apeiztegui, step up as assistants for each squad.

Phase One of Dik ten Beuenk’s Modernisation Master Plan, Section Two, Sub-Section Six [Create National Junior Teams for Pathways to The Senior National Team] paragraphs two [Players] and three [Staff] is well under way, with the Under-18 team impressing in the Commonwealth of Baker Park to bag a third placed finish and a bronze medal at the Under-18 World Championship. The UPT - that’s the TeqFA to you and me - has named an under-23 representative team for the upcoming debut in the Independent Associations Championship, a blend of under-18s, some of the under-21s that exited on penalties in the first round of the Mike Sarzo Memorial Trophy in Sarzonia, and those under-23 players on the brink of a full national call-up, probably in the next World Cup cycle. The Under-23 management team of Luka Entenza and Haize Apeiztegui will oversee this tournament, hoping at least to get a couple of games into the knockout phase if possible.

BACKROOM STAFF
Head Coach: Luka Entenza, 48, former coach at Argón Tacranza. Intense sort of fellow.
Team Director: Isaac Martí, 56, head coach of the national team and former coach at Motozintla FC.
Coach: Haize Apeiztegui, 33, a professor of the game and brilliant defender coming to the last of his playing days at Unuiĝinta, still playing for the national team as a supporter’s favourite, Tequilo’s most-capped player.
Coach: Terenzio Ramon, 43, much-admired coach at national champions Pitxi-Pitxi 77, enjoying his secondment to the national set-up. He provides the continuity having coached the under-18s at the World Championship
Team Captain: Xaime Medal, AML, 23; former Florentino winger, a vocal player - some might say big mouth, some might say natural leader - who saw out his contract before leaving on a free to 1830 Cathair - much to the chagrin of Las Violetas, who missed out on a sizeable fee for a valuable player.
Vice Captain: Tol Chicote, DC, 19; full name Toltema Iyan Chicote; just completed his breakthrough season at Fábrica Tapalupé after graduating from the youth ranks there and had a very steady first season.

PLAYING STAFF
The selection list for this trip will give clues both for the future thinking of the national team ahead of the next World Cup. Predominantly made up of under-23s who are breaking through at their domestic clubs, or in some cases already well established, the team includes four of the under-18 World Championship squad with Cio Çenturion, Firmino Vale, Matias Caldas and Ostando Bertendona all making the cut; Jaïr Iscla, despite his brilliance in the tournament, is left out, perhaps allowing the dust to settle on the controversy of abuse he took from certain opponents, their fans and media; and to give him some time out of the spotlight. The national setup have been quick to get José Tavia to commit to Tequilo as his home nation - the wingback has dual nationality and was considering his options, with Tamarindia in the frame to also benefit from his cool calm persona. Meanwhile a handful of older players in the under-23 age bracket have been named, returning from the Mike Sarzo debacle, including Resplendiente’s impressive young keeper Tepin Mecatl-Rubio, strikers Ito and Ecuador of Pelotón and Real Gardaresso respectively, and Acacoyagua’s defender Camilo Caira, who has been on the edge of the senior team with a couple of squad call-ups, but no caps to date. Winning their first squad call-ups are Pitxi-Pitxi 77’s athletic defensive midfielder Noah Vergara and Peru Urzagui fullback Ephraïm Kanyinda. Leading this group, and surely destined for the national seniors, is Xaime Medal, who recently bagged a move to Audioslavia to serve as understudy to Rickson Marañón at 1830 Cathair.

RP Permissions & Other Notes

Have fun. Maybe don't kill everyone. At least not all at once.

I Give My Opponent Permission To:
====================
Do Absolutely Anything: Y*
====================

*RRR: the Right to Reciprocity Reserved - rarely leveraged, it does mean you should maybe check if you want to do something really drastic or extreme; I almost certainly won’t object but just in case you don’t like the IC-karma that could follow (ie. do unto other as you would have done unto yourself, sort of thing). Anything done with charm and manners I certainly won’t stand in your way… regular stuff like five red cards and thirteen broken legs you can have all day long.

RP Pointers

Most likely to get…

Poacher's tap in: Martín Colon
20-metre screamer: Ecuador
Applauded for fancy panenka: Turbolito
Laughed at for bungled panenka: Turbolito
Jeered for over-exuberant celebrations: Camilo Caira
First minute booking: Milan Lucio
Last minute winner: Ito
Early bath for handbags: Tomás Alemán
Stretcher to the tunnel: José Tavia
Blood-covered rag around head: K’antu
Tackle of the season: Tol Chicote
Book of tactics for extra-curricular homework: Xecotcovach
A packet of sweets, a pat on the head, and excused from doing his homework for the night: Cio Çenturion
Early nomination for legend status: Xaime Medal

The average Tequiloan has an exceedingly high SQ (shambolic quotient) meaning they are really very good at creating and thriving in chaos… they generally get things done in a very roundabout and often nonsensical way, usually with an unbelievably high portion of luck (either good or bad). They are happy to lose, and prefer it in chaotic fashion - it's all about the journey, not the result. 0-7 is much more interesting than 0-1. Apparently.

For the purpose of media marketing, the PR company attached the UPT has decided the national team will take the nickname Los Pitxileros - the imaginative epithet translates as ’The Footballers’ - although the press and fans mostly prefer to use ’the agave-blues’ on account of their shirt colour.

Always happy to collaborate - drop me a TG or call me out in RP (but maybe still drop me a TG in case I miss it…)

Football in Kohnhead Talk Show

Part 1 Welcome to Omerica

Finn Herman: Hello my name is Finn Herman and welcome to the first episode of the Football in Kohnhead podcast. As some of you may know I am a Senior Correspondent for KSPN, Kohnhead Sports Performing Network and the network has been given special permission by the government to cover football now. I am starting this podcast as part of our extended National Football Coverage. I am joined by Lillian Barter who is the senior writer over at KNN, Kohnhead National News on football and someone who has been covering the team since the start. Welcome Lillian!

Lillian Barter: So excited to be here thanks for having me.

Finn: I am also joined by Jonathon Blackmon, a writer for KSPN, and someone who has extensive knowledge on the team. Welcome Jonathon!

Jonathon: Thanks for inviting me.

Finn: So the main topic on this episode one will be covering the Independent Associations Championship 10. Now tell me Lillian who is invited to participate in this tournament?

Lillian: Well the people invited are the nations which are not found in any of the "Big three" regions and thus cannot compete in their tournaments. Those tournaments being the AOCAF Cup, Copa Rushmori and the Campionato Esportiva. This would obviously include us.

Finn: So Jonathon how is the team currently looking? What changes has Christopher Kohnhead made to his squad for this?

Jonathon: Well the biggest change for the team that we are hearing coming out of their training sessions and while Coach Kohnhead has been mum on it we have been hearing that Audrey Henderson will be replacing Hannah Horsford in the starting XI as this team transitions from a 4-1-3-2 which had served them extremely well to a 4-3-1-2.

Lillian: The belief is that Henderson has shown she can be a capable starter and while Horsford has been okay she has been just okay. Hannah has been a starter since midway through our Baptism of Fire and while some may disagree I think this is the right move.

Finn: I agree with that. Henderson has taken advantage of every opportunity she has been given yet they have always trusted Cogginter more. Is this finally the chance she takes a starting XI spot and runs with it?

Jonathon: I believe this move will be great for both the team and herself. Horsford while she played okay does not have big shoes to fill and was always a weak link in terms of the starters. Henderson now 22 has gotten better over the last year and I think she will take this and be the starter for the next 10 years.

Finn: What I want to know is what this means for Laker, Cogginter, and Rallyton all whom have shown they are the strength of the team. Lillian what are your thoughts on that?

Lillian: Well the new formation will move those three back more and allow Henderson to play the CAM role showing how much confidence they have in her. Henderson is very versatile though, she can play striker, CAM, or a normal midfield role but CAM is what best suits her talents. As for Laker, Rallyton, and Cogginter expect a few of their goals to go down but expect them to retain the same crucial role in all attacking situations and expect them to play a more vital role defensively with Horsford no longer there to do that.

Finn: Well we know the retirement of Kohnhead legend Jackson Newcastle really hurts this team. Jonathon, is Bertha Sanders ready to take that next step coming off of a great DBC?

Jonathon: I have to say yes she is. Sanders played very well at the most recent DBC (U-21 World Cup) carrying a struggling defense and one of the reasons they got to the semis. She has the natural talent at the position and while her height isn't the best she has great jumping abilities and good reflexes. My one concern with her is how vocal she can be. Newcastle would be yelling from the back line, telling you where to go, what you did wrong, and what you did right. While some defenders didn't like it they also appreciated it because Newcastle was normally right. I question whether Sanders can do that.

Lillian: To add on to Jonathon's point, Sanders is very young at age 21 while Newcastle was 34. Sanders hasn't shown that communication required to assist her defenders the way Newcastle did. But I think she steps in there and gets the job done especially as this defense continues to grow and get better.

Finn: Speaking of the defense what is the current situation with Claire Corton coming off of the injury that made her miss the COH is she okay or will Callie Porsha be playing?

Lillian: All reports say Porsha is perfect and from watching their practices I can say she looks 100%. But we know that practice can look different than the actual game so it is possible that she struggles early on but all indications show she is back to full strength.

Finn: Jonathon, are you surprised that Kohnhead didn't give Richards the starting job.

Jonathon: No not really. Richards as we know didn't perform well during qualifiers when Newcastle was out with his concussion, and Sanders lit it up over at the DBC. Plus the fact that Sanders is 10 years younger than Richards definitely helps her out. I think it was an easy decision but Sanders knows Richards is ready if she struggles.

Finn: Finally, I want to hear your predictions on how this team does in the tournament overall and how we do against Juvencus at Londonderry Court. Lillan you first.

Lillian: While I've been hearing people say 3rd is the place we will finish, I think this team finishes second to Port Ember advancing to the round of 16 where well it's the round of 16 so we lose there. As for our Juvencus game, I think we get the 3-1 victory propelling us to finish ahead of them.

Jonathon: I think we finish a distant third to Port Ember and Juvencus. Part of the reason I say that is this is our first IAC and the team doesn't have much experience at all compared to some of these teams. I think Juvencus sets the tone early defeating us 2-0 which will be the difference between us getting in and us being eliminated.

Finn: Personally I think we get to the quarterfinals after finishing second in the group. I think we draw Juvencus at 3. Thanks everyone for listening to this podcast and I will be back later on during the tournament maybe with the same guests maybe not. We will also be talking domestically so make sure you continue to support this brand new podcast. Thanks for joining me Jonathon and Lillian.

SHARKTAIL POST EP25
BLUE ARMY WILL ALWAYS STAND BEHIND SHARKTAIL

Every team have their own fans club. This club can be said as a fanatic fans. They will always come and cheer for their team no matter where they played. They dont care to even spend a lot of money for merchandise, ticket, flight and fuel. They will be satisfied to go and watch on their own and cheer for their beloved team.

Fans for each team based on how good that team are. The newbie or newcomer team basicly will have a little group of fans while the top teams will have larger fanbase. Why this happen, well except they are fanatic with that team, most of the fans will watch the team that have a lot achievment and strong. Let say, we go watch one team played and they keep losing, what attraction that team have to attract the fans to watch and cheer for them. This fans club have been established when this team played in World Cup qualification 81. At first, this group of fans dont even have a name. The story that lead to their establishment was just a coincidence. It started as a group of 20 to 30 who meet at stadium. They not even know each other. From their story, they never thinking about this plan. From their first meet, their amount keep increased. From 30 of them, they invited their family, their friend and they also keep inviting each other. After some time and they keep increasing, they have made a plan to create a fan club. At first, the just have around 200 members in this fanclub. At that time, one of their way to cheer for this team is print the player poster and give to each member. At the start of the match and the end of the match also when they score, all club member will hold the poster while shout either 'Sharktail' or player name. From time to time, their number increased. In CMFA MAC 4, they have relesed their first ever club official jersey. All the member will wear it when they come to support Sharktail played. Now this club have around 2000 member. It quite big. This fanclub also have been officially approved as Sharktail NT official fanclub by SFA president, Tengku Muhammad Hazim.

All of their stories until now, they keep standing behind this team, supporting them with all they can. All of them have give Sharktail NT a motivation to give their best. Thank you for everything. DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - WOMEN'S

These are tough times for Fleftic football. After having experienced the rise of a so-called "golden generation" of players at right around the same time that Abanhfleft finally joined the greater multiverse, everyone is seemingly losing their heads now that the Fleftic teams are just losing left and right. Rebuilding is the word that everyone knows is being thought but not said, but even that is encountering problems seeing as even Abanhfleft's youth teams are doing very poorly in their competitions. The danger of overperforming in the early years has seemingly finally caught up with the Democratic Republic, and now the Samahang Futbol ng Abanhfleft is having to do everything in its power to reverse a troubling trend and finally get this sports-obsessed nation back on the right track. After another disastrous campaign in the Di Bradini Cup which has seemingly vindicated those in the SFA saying that it's no use sending a team to that competition anymore, the very same team assembled for that one-and-done campaign is now about to be blooded into actual international football far away from the bad vibes in Valanora.

IAX Part 1 - CoH77 Recap

Postby PotatoFarmers » Fri Aug 07, 2020 7:03 am

27.7 years old on average.
As compared to the squad Poafmersia submitted for the Cup of Harmony just half a year ago, it was slightly smaller by 0.7 years, since that squad was a 28.4 on average. However, there was an inclusion of new players that might signal a starting shift towards the younger population, another generation of players, as the old guard reaches their peak.
To understand how this squad was chosen, we had to go all the way back to the 77th Cup of Harmony and the pre-CoH friendlies, where younger players were starting to get appearances. Aubrey Mayer was a key player that thoroughly convinced Adnan Suliaha of her position in the club. For the first 2 friendlies against Sylestone away and Twicetagria at home, Mayer had shown brightly by giving a goal and an assist. Hansel Tang also proved to be a reliable backup for Shakira Handris, given her performance in the Ko-oren league also showed how much she had grown over the years. A close win over Sarzonia started to show how the defence is getting more and more of a problem, as the back 4 of Alex and Denise Pickford, together with Pasits Rikachz, Danzik Hoboson in the middle, makes some mistakes after another that has sounded alarms. What proved to be interesting was when Nasri Sanchez was asked to play with Rikachz against Delaclava, and Poafmersia ran riot by putting 5 past a very fast-paced and attacking Delaclava side. Dathan Ingram was the only scorer for Delaclava then, but Hansel Tang and Aubrey Mayer once again ran riot by scoring 2 goals each, with Daas Taisg scoring the last one. Daas Taisg also provided 2 assist, together with Gisiik Moonar's 1 assist, and that gave the team ideas. Although the defence wasn't as fantastic when Nasri Sanchez shifted to left back to replace Alex Pickford, it certainly gave Adnan Suliaha ideas.
Back into the Cup of Harmony. Conceding 10 goals, including a match against Mercedini where Poafmersia was absolutely dominated, showed how defence has became key. Many of those matches such as that one against Astograth was lost to poor defence. However, we are in Poafmersia, as you noticed. A lack of good defenders is why the strikers and creative midfielders constantly shine. The Pickford siblings and the Danzik-Pasits pair keep their place in this squad, with the holding midfielder the one seeing changes. Woden Sweet has excelled for Trimidau Rukiya, putting up nice performances when she makes the squad. An interesting change there - would it benefit? In our next episode, we will look at the past 6 friendlies played and see what difference she has made that prompted her inclusion.

Opening Match Starting 11 (4-3-3) -> Sandi Jaliaha; Alex Pickford, Danzik Hoboson (c), Nasri Sanchez, Natalia Abbott; Gisiik Moonar, Ftiks Wariq, Daas Taisg; Hansel Tang, Shakira Handris, Pete Carisa

Greetings!
It’s TTV from the exciting Omerica, previously unknown to us. Together with another ten thousand of our fellow citizens, we are at the IAC, awaiting the start of the matches of the first round of the group stage. The last tournament turned out to be extremely traumatic for us, but, as it should be, the fans are ready to try to compensate for the lack of skill or luck on the part of the players with their frantic support. Omerica is located in a region we haven't visited yet, which makes it all the more interesting to look at a new society. We have already witnessed a few funny incidents when guests from Trolleborg get confused about prices, since both countries have florins. Fortunately, this time the creators of the Keith system provided us with, so to speak, a mobile version of it, named Keithees, which, through the electronic devices of the owners, allows them to communicate in local Romanique. New system actively learns to understand foreign societies and provide us with the necessary information on the road. Undoubtedly, at the Olympics and WCQ86 she will have a real big workload. We were somewhat afraid of the reaction of local residents to the intrusion of loud Trolleborg fans, but it seems that things are going well, everyone has fun.

But this is only before the match, because the first game does not at all promise us celebrations, and indeed an easy life: our opponents are the reigning IAC champion, New Lusitania, which took third place in the qualifying tournament at the last WCQ, and the highly-rated team of all participants. Tonight our guys will meet with them on the field of the Stade Just-Cartier stadium. What is especially alarming is the veil of secrecy surrounding the preparation of opponents for the match; there is not even the slightest degree of accurate information about the lineup of the team, not to mention the tactical structure and manner of play. One can only conclude that opponents usually practiced 3-5-2.

Our lads will play in the following lineup:

Image

Our group also includes Sharktail, Havynwilde and Nacrad teams, the first two we know as stubborn and skilled guys, with whom it is never easy to play, and the third is a completely mysterious. The games will be held in neighboring cities near the sea, and we already know about the impending invasion of our fans on the beaches. Let's hope that they will go there in a good mood, but let's not deceive ourselves - the match is going to be extremely difficult.

SPACE does get RESPECT from Omerica IAX

Only there are five nation who participate in the first Independent Associations Cup and also the 10th. It is Drawkland, Devonta, Abanhfleft, Juvencus and SPACE. In this time Space has sign up for all Independent Championship competition and was permit to participate in 9 of them. Always Space does this without a consideration of ranking.

Thank only to Omerica now in this IAX championship that Space has earn some RESPECT for the contribution they create into the heritage.

Image

Maybe it is not the easy draw for SPACE. If it is looked at Group F just one team is known. In Group H, G, E there are two teams without the Ranking. Space will be in the tough group called "Group A" where they will play with this Respecting nation of Omerica. Also difficult to compete with a great powerful TJUN-ia and even the champion of yesteryear in Schottia.

Respect it is taking 10 cups to earn for Space. Now Space has earned the respect off the field. It is now time for SPACE to earn the RESPECT on the field also. The campaign of Respect for SPACE will begin on the first day with the opposition of TJUN-ia. Perhaps it is the most important game for both team.

Lets Go Astronauts!

Fujai
Fujai (fu:'jaɪ, foo-yEYE) is a small coastal nation of just over 7 million residents, located in the north of the Polarii continent in The West Pacific. While it has a long history of domestic football, it never has been a substantial player on the international scale. The Independents' Cup 8 was Fujai's first international football competition, where the Landslag made it to the Round of 16 before being knocked by Drawkland out in a high pitched match ending 5-4 AET. In the short time since then, the team has attempted to qualify for two World Cups, participated in further Independents' Cups, The West Pacific Summer Olympics, and other regional and international competitions.

The Landslag
The Landslag is made up of the finest players in Fujai, though few would be considered of truly international quality. It is sponsored by Fujais Fotbollforbund (FjFF), a member of Fujais Idrottsforbund (FIF - Fujansk Sports Federation). Most Landslag players come from Fujai's top league, Fyrstserien, though a few come from the second division, Annarserien, and one comes from a university team. While Fujansk clubs are more equal in skill than the average league, the four most dominant teams, the Store Fyra, are Solbakken IL and Bruland IF from the capital of Keiserholde, Trondsnes FF from Strafsund, and Almoren IL from Almoren in the north.

Fujais Idrottsforbund
Fujais Idrottsforbund (FIF) is the federation of labor unions representing all sports players and workers in sports-associated industries. It is separate from the Fujansk government, but receives accreditation and financial and infrastructural support from it. Its structure includes clubs at the local level (e.g. a local sports club), which are constituents of fylke organizations, which are a part of the larger federation representing specific sports (e.g. Fujais Fotbollforbund for football), which are then members of FIF. FIF is a member of the Rhodoniad and OCTWPUS (Olympic Council of The West Pacific Union of Sports), and is Fujai's representative to the Olympic Council.

Fujais Fotbollforbund
Fujais Fotbollforbund (FjFF) is the labor union that governs football in Fujai and represents all players, related workers, and clubs in the country. It governs Fujai's league system, consisting of Fyrstserien, Annarserien, Tredjeserien, and the landsdel leagues. Fylke leagues and lower are organized by the the fylke organizations.

Editor's note on gender: Fujansk culture does not have individual gender categories. The five common genders were historically recognized, though categories and classifications of gender expression have broken down in the last few centuries, resulting in today's non-categorical perception of gender. Since the Fujansk language does not have gendered pronouns, most Fujar choose choose to use gender-neutral pronouns when interacting in the common tongue, such as they/them. All players on the Landslag use they/them pronouns.

Translator's note: Landslaget translates to "The National Team," while Landslag translates to "National Team." In the common tongue, one would say "the Landslag did well" or "Landslaget did well," not "the Landslaget did well." This is because the Fujansk language uses suffixes to create definite nouns instead of articles. See Den Fujanske Ordboken (The Fujansk Dictionary) for more information.

Nykanalen is the largest stadium in the nation, and serves as the home stadium for the Landslag. Nykanalen also recently hosted the second edition of the FFI Liga dos Vencedores and third edition of the Taça das Confederações.

  • Erna Höss - A star from Annarserien's Hal Stor IK, until this year they were only starter from the second division, but two high profile relegations meant they were joined by many others.
  • Anton Felland - A master of footwork, they can take the ball even from the most experienced players if given the chance

Game 1 Cold Open

Once again, we participate in the Independent Associations Championship. And it's for a 5th time to boot. Although, these past 8 years have been rough for us. Two finals appearances, two losses in the Final. Both of them hurt, especially the last one in our own backyard. Now, it's time to settle the score.

We got many of our talented players ready to go- Cristiano, Rossi, Navarro, Hamada, Ramirez... We even got some youngsters to cheer on like Pae or Mendieta, the son of our head coach. Regardless, we got a squad hungry for the IAC Title. A title that has eluded us for 8 years now. This reality insults their pride.

Now, Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos come to Omerica, looking to achieve this glory. Today, on a day where regions collide, HUElavia looks to make a true and proper name to themselves in this competition. Today, the team looks to get off to the right foot and start the Championship on a high note.

For some, this is their last chance to possibly gain an international title with the team. For others, this is their chance to leave a lasting mark on their young careers.

HUElavia will not only look to dominate on the pitch, but to dominate in the stands, as thousands of HUElavians come to cheer and support their team. Back home, millions of HUElavians will flock to watch parties to support and cheer on their National Team. Today, many HUElavians will pray, whether it is to their deity or to their ancestors, for the National Team to succeed.

Today, we show the multiverse how much we truly want this Championship.

HUElavia vs Natanya

IAC10 Preview: Chaaange yer faaaate

Postby Squornshelan Remnant States » Fri Aug 07, 2020 3:10 pm

OOC: I intend no offense or disparagement to my fellow Group G participants. Only to myself. This should be read as IC self-loathing and disappointment, combined with the weird coincidence that all the teams in the group are at least below average for their pot.

G is for Garbage

Image
Black-and-Reds were drawn into almost the worst group possible here at IAC10 in Omerica, and are a big part of what makes the group so weak. As the lowest-ranked team in Pot 1, our inclusion here really sets the tone for the group as a whole. The next team is Devonta, second-lowest from Pot 2. Kriegiersien don't really seem to belong here, by comparison. They're just barely in the bottom half of Pot 3, and should probably petition to change groups with Indusse or Silver Beach, who would be much better fits here in Group Garbo. From Pot 4, we get the Calculator, one of the three unranked sides placed there by random draw. I'm not sure whether the entire country is a calculator, or is ruled by a calculator, or if all their people are sentient calculators (stranger things have happened, you've seen Sylestone play, right?). Finally, from pot 5, Woryand, a nation of an uncertain number of syllables. Personally I favor a jaunty, two-syllable pronunciation, but in all likelihood I'm wrong. The Black-and-Reds have only met with one of their opponents before. The United States of Devonta were also drawn into Group 7 during World Cup 82 Qualifying. Both matches between the two sides ended in draws, which was considered a good result for the 85th-ranked Black-and-Reds at the time, considering Devonta's position in the top 50. In any case, it's clear to see that no one is all that good at football in this group, so I'd like to extend my apologies and commiserations to the citizens of the Pays-de-la-Mer, where this gong show of a group will be contested. Sassari and Romainbourg, located in the east of Omerica, not far from the coast, will each host five of Group G's matches. Romainbourg will achieve some redemption from the unfortunate displays that Group G will no doubt put on within its fair Stade de la République by hosting the Grand Final. Sassari's Trailblazer Park will have to content itself with a round of sixteen match. In any case, both venues are guaranteed not to play host to any of the Group G teams during the tournament's latter stages, which must come as some small comfort.

Arriving at the IAC the Black-and-Reds have no shortage of new faces. Most notable among them, of course, is new manager Anne-Sophie Groothuis, an Omerican herself, whom the SCFA and Confederate fans everywhere hope is the long looked for answer to the by now two-cycle-old question of who would replace Bethany Donnell and lead the Black-and-Reds out of their current mediocrity. An observer on the world footballing stage since resigning following an admittedly lackluster performance at Cup of Harmony 75, Groothuis was coaxed out of her self-imposed exile by the SCFA, and an opportunity to replicate the rebuilding job she did for her home country. Her status as one of, if not the most successful manager in Omerican history might buy the Black-and-Reds some initial goodwill from their hosts. How long that lasts if the team pulls the same group stage disappearing act it's perfected over the past two cycles is less certain.

Whether or not Groothuis succeeds in the aim of returning this team to the knockout stages of a tournament, any tournament, she'll do it on her own terms, with the team she wants. Given a remarkably free hand when picking her roster, she has eschewed several of what would seem to some like obvious picks for the IAC team. Notable absences include Chalesm and Yassaca goalkeepers Kinner Mustahil and Argis Ekewakan, Foxchester Raiders left back Djabgor Dzarkhin, Gladerial United center back Skumantas Nakhutin, Algolia attacking midfielder Viordar Rebljeten, and Yassaca striker Jeska Verhulst. Several new faces take their places, and give some hints as to what a Black-and-Reds team under Groothuis might look like in a few cycles. Goalkeeper Marzanna Furnadjiev, defenders Jirar Malgos and Svenja Baste, and midfielders Selvala Tabur and Mithya Hashemi are all being named to a tournament roster for the first time, as is newly naturalized right wing Oliwer Starosta. Some of those players got their first taste of international football some weeks ago in a friendly victory over Delacalava.

The match can be considered a qualified success, with the team playing strongly through the first half, but looking much weaker and nearly losing the lead in the second. While most pundits have expressed cautious optimism, there is clearly still work to be done. This fact is certainly not lost on Groothuis, who told reporters post-match that she was definitely not yet satisfied with her team's performance. "The final score may have favored us, but the run of play spoke better of our opposition," she explained. "No disrespect to the Delaclav's but they aren't the team they were thirty cycles ago. We should not have been chasing possession against them." It wasn't all doom and gloom from the new boss though, as she did see some bright spots. "The good thing I can say about the second half is to compliment the back line. If not for them, we would be sitting here talking about how to pick up the pieces after an embarrassing loss." While Groothuis has been tight-lipped about the precise criteria she used when making the final cuts from her roster, it seems likely that Svenja Baste, who seemed to be on the bubble initially, played her way onto the IAC roster with her heroic second half efforts against the Phoenixes.

So what, then, should we expect from this Black-and-Reds team? With a new manager, who brings a new formation and tactics, as well as sweeping roster changes, it's certainly fair to say that this is not the same team we watched in World Cup 85 Qualifying, or Cup of Harmony 77. Is the team different enough? Hell, if I knew the future I wouldn't be here writing about it, I'd be on my way to the casino.

BACK IN ACTION
A Tournament Preview

The wait is over. New Lusitania are back in action in Omerica where the Independent Associations Cup returns for its tenth iteration. The Selecção May hold the trophy in its cabinet, but plenty of teams - forty to be exact - are in the tournament, meaning there's plenty of teams that want the honour. Following the last edition of the Cup of Harmony, national coach Victor Santa Cruz stepped down following a disappointing performance. After a long search, Paulo Martins was appointed, being one of the free coaches at the time. Whilst not affecting the style too much, Martins has promised that the fullbacks will play more roles in the tournament. With a good percentage declaring this or the qualifiers to be their final tournament, we've truly reached the transition phase now.
Joining us in Group C are Trolleborg a team which is further down the rankings but has consistently surprised and made it to the Cup of Harmony on their first attempt meaning it wil be a real competitive test on how good this team has adapted to Martins' changes to the system. With this game being the first match, it'll be extremely important to find a brand new balance to the team with one of the first real tests under new command. The following game is against Nacrad who are an unranked side but the IAC is nothing short of a place for new teams to beat the more established sides as we have seen in the recent past.
The final two games will have Havynwilde and Sharktail, two teams who have previously been in the World Cup Qualifiers Circuit and the latter in the Independents Cup meaning that despite appearances on paper, there will still be plenty of challenges.

Meanwhile the hosts have a tough road, being joined by TJUN-ia who provided plenty of challenges in the previous IAC, reaching the Knockouts, as well as in Qualifying where they featured in the Selecção's group. With them Space, which need no introduction in the Competition, and historic Schottia which are still the real deal despite not being in their previous glory days as of late.
Previous hosts and finalists HUElavia are in group B alongside Terre Septentrionale who weren't too bad themselves in the previous tournament, going quite far, whilst group D feature Drawkland and Darkmania, two teams with a past and previous encounters as well as being easily confused for some apparent reasons.
Group E have Sajnur which not only beat the Lusitanians but also threatened the top sides during last cycle's qualifying and will have to worry about Poafmersia and Abanhfleft; but group F is one to really pay attention to. As well as Port Ember and Juvencus, it also features usuals Fleuronordicia and recent sensation Kohnhead which took the Qualifiers by a storm and were a fan favourite due to their underdog status. It was a successful road but can they go one better with the Independents? Certainly could happen, but remains to be seen. Group G teams include the staple name of the S.R.S. and Devonta. Following a rocky road, Kriegersien return to the IAC once more with Woriyand and the strategic unranked mathematics of the Calculator.
Group H is the final group of this extremely quick preview as Reçueçn, who lost the host bid after attempting to bring back the Swiss System to football and is in a consistent run, are joined by "CoH" usuals Fujai and Indusse. Also in this group are Megistos with whom New Lusitania played a friendly earlier this year, meaning it has a lot of potential to be a tight group.
The stage is set, Omerica ready and New Lusitania hope to have a shot at defending the championship despite recent setbacks. Martins recently said that the baseline objectives are " the knockouts, then the semis at least but we definitely want to go all the way and as a team that's the objective we really set for ourselves".
With the games played during the night,. Lusitanian fans will have to stay up and accompany all of the action on STL as the Selecção attempts to prove they still have a future and are better than ever.

TEAM HISTORY
This is the official roster, featuring the Elite Eleven, an independent squad of Drawkians who have played all sports at a professional level for a confusingly long time. The old Kick Corps has been essentially removed, the players let go, and replaced by this squad of ridiculously skilled, annoyingly arrogant, and possibly immortal sportsmen. Nobody knows where they came from, or why DISC decided to replace the Kick Corps with them, but here they are. Just don't ask the baseball fans about them.
Drawkian soccer, and indeed, sporting in general, is mostly offensive-minded. This is reflected in the style indicator and in the formation. Drawkian soccer has not really been exposed to outside influences, and thus may look or feel strange to those used to "normal" football. Nevertheless, the Eleven are still good at what they do, and prize in an enduring game, moving the ball around nearly constantly and keeping energy going, aiming to tire out the opposing team. Of course, Drawkians aren't humans, but you can read about that elsewhere. Despite the fact that usually soccer is a female-only sport in Drawkland, the Elite Eleven have overturned that caveat as the higher-ups deemed them a suitable replacement in the interim as the real Kick Corps hides away for a few cycles and gets their shit back together.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my Scorers: Yes
Choose Scoring Events: Yes
Godmod Scoring Events: Yes
RP Injuries to my Players: Yes
Godmod Injuries to my Players: Yes
Yellow Card my Players: Yes
Red Card my Players: Yes
Godmod Other Events: Yes
As far as these go, I'm fair game for anything. You should know what is and isn't drastic RP, and if you think your RP is on the drastic side, TG me first. But I'm still basically up for anything.
I'd like to request that injuries or cards don't do anything outside of the scope of a single game or maybe 2. Don't want anything tournament or cycle-ending. Red cards should be limited to late knockout stages, and I'd probably think that there should be no more than 2 players red carded per tournament.
The Elite Eleven are sorta oddballs. I mean, they're a group of 11 dudebros, but they're supposedly immortal or something. Keep that in mind.

Disclaimers of various sorts:
I don't know very much about soccer. If I RP something weird, it's because I have little to no experience with this sport. But whatever.
If you have any questions about anything involving me, this team, my nation, this competition, life, etc., feel free to telegram me.

Most of the Reçuecians—all the francophones—felt at home here in the républiques unies, another politically decentralized nation with many French, or, as the Oméricains themselves would say, Gallienais influences. Yet despite the team feeling at ease here in Port-des-Saints, this is not a place that les licornes have ever visited before; nor have they ever faced les incorrigibles in a match. Despite both nations participation in the IAC, they have always missed out on confronting each other. As Reçueçn quickly rose up the rankings, this became unremarkable during the group stage at least, since it would be unlikely for the nation to be drawn against Omérique, which was often in the same pot. But even in the knock-out rounds or world cup qualifiers, the two nations still managed to avoid each other. Les incorrigibles came to Reçueçn when it hosted the 8th IAC, so now, two editions later, the tables are turned. But there is still no guarantee that the two teams will finally play each other.

Indusse is another team that, despite multiple opportunities, has never played against Reçueçn. That is, until now. This IAC, Group H begins with the two nations finally facing off for the first time. Reçueçn, after not only participating in three IACs but taking home bronze and gold medals along the way, not to mention three straight World Cup qualifications, has demonstrated that it can contend with the best, and thereby earned itself a spot in the tournament's Pot 1 and the first seed in the group. Anything other than a win against Indusse will be a disappointment then.

Looking ahead, Reçueçn will get a day off before facing its neighbor Fujai. Fujai has been quietly involved in both domestic and international football for a few cycles now, to the point that les licornes were surprised to find that they were the second seed in the group and also favorites to advance, despite Reçueçn's presence. Fujai is ranked slightly lower than some of the other Pot 2 teams, but just ahead of Devonta, meaning that despite the presence of Indusse from the tail end of Pot 3, Group H probably can't claim to be worse than Group G. But it's a close one. One hopes that Reçueçn will have an easy time of it, as the final two games, to be played in Nassau, are both against unranked nations: Megistos and Hopal.

Squidroidia 1–0 Kayangan @ Stade International, Bayonnette

Squidroidia Scorer : Itoh Hoshi - 71'
Kayangan Scorer : None

Inconsistent action when losing in the first match, despite having struggled to launch an attack but Sam Moorton's men still failed to steal at least one point.

A late goal by Itoh Hoshi killed their hopes of continuing to attack, Yoneda Toshikuni picked up the ball on the halfway-line and fed Makino Hideo, who broke quickly towards the right corner flag before cutting in to slide over a precision cross, which Hoshi met the far post with a clinical right-footed finish.

The Very Best

Part Two

Port Patrick Street Gym

‘So Ms Lewis, do you have any closing remarks...?’ The Court of Appeal Judge said, over the top of his glasses, as he glared across at the benched, with all the authority he could muster.

‘Yes, Your Honour.’ Anna Lewis got to her feet, speaking confidently, as she had done throughout the entire proceedings. ‘I would just like to remind the court of the main points of our appeal. Mr Ferguson was in a very bleak place at the time of his conviction. Both professionally, and personally, he had been struggling for a long time. His wife had left him, the trainers at his Gym had been under performing, and they had recently lost their Pokémon League accreditation. As a result, in the darkness, amidst the crippling depression, Mr Ferguson turned to alcohol. Now none of this excuses his actions – of course it does not – and as a result, Mr Ferguson has been seeing a councillor for his mental health issues, as well as attending an Alcoholics Anonymous group within the prison itself.’ She paused for effect. ‘He is sorry. He is sorry, and he has turned a corner. He has also shown willingness to make amends, and is prepared to make a generous donation to a community fund. Nothing – I repeat – nothing will make what he did right, Mr Ferguson knows this too. He has served four years of his eight-year sentence, however; and we only ask the court to grant parole for the remainder of that term.’ Lewis’ expression was composed, her body language spot on. ‘My client was previously a pillar of the community, who enriched the lives of young trainers the country over, many of them from disadvantaged backgrounds. You’ve heard the sworn testimony of our character witnesses, who have all cited Ferguson as pivotal in their lives, in keeping them out of gang culture, and away from other vices. Mr Ferguson can be that again. He can be that difference to a new generation of young boys and girls. Both an example of what an individual from a working class background can achieve, but also what can happen when they fall off the rails.’ Lewis looked at Ferguson, fixing herself with a rehearsed smile for the Judge’s benefit. Ferguson, as instructed, looked a paragon of remorse and humility. ‘We ask the Court, please, let him be that man again. Thank you, Your Honour.’

‘Mr Ferguson.’ The Judge adjusted his glasses, consulting his notes. ‘You were charged four years ago with arson, causing serious public damage, and the use of Pokémon as a weapon.’ He continued, coolly. ‘You acted recklessly and with little regard for those, whom your actions affected. It was a seriously crime, and you have been rightly convicted.’

There was a pause, during which the outcome was up the air, and the courtroom held their breath.

‘However: In the light of Ms Lewis’ impassioned appeal, the testimony of the character witnesses, and the fact that you seem to getting the help you desperately need, I have decided there is in fact some grounds for appeal.’

Ferguson, sitting across the room, felt his heart flutter in spite of himself.

‘I have taken into account what Ms Lewis has asked, but… I have decided to go further still. I am minded to reduce your sentence to four years – time you have already served – with a few caveats in place. Mr Ferguson, you will be required to keep up with your counselling and treatment for alcoholism for the next three moths. Furthermore, in that time, you will be banned from training or battling with your Pokémon. Failure to comply with these conditions will see you face further criminal charges.’

Ferguson nodded his understanding and his gratitude.

‘You’re a free man Mr Ferguson, don’t let me ever see you in this courtroom again.’

---

‘Three fucking months.’ Ferguson grumbled, as they headed out of Court Buildings, and into the blasting wind of the Handon winter. ‘Kind of throws a spanner in the works…’ He added, before sheltering from the wind briefly a shop doorway, long enough to get a cigarette lit.

‘Meeeee – owth!’ A wild Meowth signalled its disapproval as it scarpered, clearly unhappy at Ferguson’s impromptu intrusion.

It was only a little past four, but the sky was overcast, and the last hours of daylight were rapidly slipping away. Ferguson undid the top button of his shirt and loosened his tie, before drawing deeply on his cigarette, sampling the free air.

‘You’re not allowed to train Pokémon,’ Lewis corrected his statement subtly, as she stepped to one side to avoid the hissing Pokémon. ‘The Judge didn’t say you couldn’t train me…’ Lewis broke off to have a word with two members of her team, who had caught up with them. Ferguson paid little attention as they indulged in a little ‘back slapping’ before wishing each other a good weekend. She’d certainly been worth the money, Ferguson thought, smiling to himself. If she hadn’t come along when she had done, there was no doubt that he’d be sleeping in his cell tonight.

‘So where were we..?’ Lewis apologised, returning after bidding her team farewell. ‘Oh yes. The part where you keep up your side of the deal.’ She fixed him with the same steely look she had used in the courtroom.

‘Okay…’ Ferguson shook his head, looking up to the heavens. ‘A deal’s a deal. I’ve got your mobile number, I’ll give you a call next week once I get settled in, and maybe I can give you… the odd pointer.’

‘No John.’ Lewis’ mood stiffened. ‘You don’t dictate the terms to me. You still own the building, we’re going to your Gym right now, and we are going to make a start. The weekends are the only time I have, and the Regional League is in six months’ time.’ Her expression and posture were utterly steadfast. ‘I’ll drive.’

Lewis’ car was one denoting the success and wealth of its owner. Ferguson felt too big, too grubby, and utterly uncomfortable in the leather seat he currently occupied. Both of them were still in their court apparel, although Ferguson had un tucked his shirt and stuffed the tie in the breast pocket. Lewis hadn’t spoke, nor taken her eyes off the road since they started off. She drove quickly and confidently, and Ferguson was aware of the power the car possessed as she accelerated to catch the green lights.

‘So…’ He tried.

‘What?’

‘Thanks.’

‘Thank me with your actions…’ She broke off, so as to concentrate, as she pulled out to overtake a van. ‘… I lie for a living. Words mean very little to me.’

Ferguson shrugged, it was a good point. He stared out the window as another minute’s silence passed. ‘Do you specialise in a certain type?’

‘No.’ Then after a moment’s pause. ‘My best Pokémon is Umbreon; then I have a Riolu and a Magnamite that are both just about… useable.’ It seemed that her cold, ruthless side also extended to Pokémon training.

Ferguson nodded his understanding, issuing a tiered sigh. ‘It’s quicker if you turn a left up here.’ He added jerking his head in the direction

‘I’ll be faster on the Coastal Road at this time of night.’ Lewis answered dismissively. The way she drove (like a girl-racer) she was probably right. Ferguson was desperate for anther smoke, but he didn’t dare ask if rolling down the window was in order. The car still had that showroom smell, and the ex-con felt like he was lowering the resale price just be sitting his grubby arse in it.

‘Suit yer self.’ It was funny, just half an hour ago he felt like he’d been release from prison, now he felt like he was being taken hostage, as Lewis sped round the Marionville Road roundabout in third gear, and tore down the Coastal Road. ‘So what made a blood-sucking lawyer decide to take up training?’ He tried again.

‘It was actually the other way round.’ Lewis replied, flicking on the window wipers, as large flakes of icy sleet began to fall on the windscreen. ‘I got my starter Pokémon from Professor Burns when I was ten, and never really looked back.’ She smiled at the memory. ‘A little Mudkip, good natured, but never had much of a stomach for a fight… so I ditched it pretty early on. I was out travelling every weekend and evening after school. As soon as I was old enough, I spent my summers backpacking across the region, collecting Pokémon, entering tournaments, trying to get my badges…’ She stopped, clearly reliving some element of the adventures in her head.

‘How many do you have?’

‘Pokemon!?’

Badges.

‘Seven.’ She said with a wry cackle of mirthless laughter. ‘We were on the ferry to Vichenza City to win number eight, when…’ She shook her head. ‘I got the call from my mum, the letter from the University had landed on the doormat, and I had an interview for Law School.’

‘And you turned back.’ Said Ferguson, stating the obvious.

‘Mhm.’ Lewis nodded, indicating to turn down Port Patrick Street. ‘Bought my ticket as soon as I got off the ship, and I was on my way home that evening. I’d already taken a gap year – against my parents’ approval – I was at a dead end.’ She parked the car in the street. ‘My father was clear. At some point I had stop running, living out of a backpack, in the vain hope of making a living out of training little monsters.’

Lewis turned off the ignition and the two of them sat in the silence for a moment, as the view through the windscreen grew slowly opaque with heavy flakes of snow. Ferguson allowed his eyes to close for a second, but quickly reopened them, through fear of falling asleep.

‘Come on.’ He said, clapping his large hands together with a bit of heavily manufactured enthusiasm. ‘These pokemon aren’t going to train themselves.’

Port Patrick Street Gym was a converted church. It was a modest building, built into the street itself, dating back to the mid eighteen-hundreds. It lacked a steeple, stain glass windows (or any grandeur for that matter) but it was unmistakably a church nonetheless. Ferguson led the way, walking up to the heavy front doors, which like most of the façade, were now covered with years worth of graffiti. The his old sign still hung above the door, faded, but out or reach and unblemished. Above the entranceway, a Murkrow stood ominously. Its feathers bristled up against the cold, it eyed them with the utmost suspicion as they approached.

Lewis removed the keys from here pocket, and set about unlocking the doors.

‘Fucking Junkie Bastards..!’ Ferguson grumbled, having noticed a windowpane had been smashed out. He went over to inspect the damage, swearing loudly as realised it had been turned into a makeshift entrance in his absence. ‘Fucking typical…’ The docklands of North Handon had undergone a degree of gentrification over the last thirty years, but it still had its share of unsavoury characters lurking unseen.

‘Found it.’ Lewis said, referring to the correct key. After something of a heave, the heavy doors were eventually shoved open, ploughing four years worth of post to one side. Inside the foyer the soles of their shoes crunched over yet more broken glass. The building instantly felt cold and damp, with a lingering smell of mould and urine. Ferguson flicked the light switches, but predictable, the electric was still cut off. In spite of the darkness and damp, the most ominous thing of all was the fact that didn’t feel unlived in.

‘Fucksake!’ Ferguson snarled once more. He tiered of watching Lewis fumbling with the keys, and snatched them off her and opened the inner door to the hall proper. Lewis turned the torch function of her phone on, and shone it into the large empty room. The floor was strewn with empty plastic cider bottles, crushed beer cans, and empty aerosol cans. There was evidence of ruff sleeping in the corners of the hall, and the doors leading to the side rooms had been kicked open. ‘Junkie Bastards.’

Ferguson had spotted something in the dark, and without warning marched across the hall, delivering a stiff boot to what appeared to be a bundled of rags. ‘Get up you arsehole.’ Ferguson repeated the action, and finally drew a yelp from what turned out to be a rough sleeper. ‘Get up, you prick.’ A third and final kick brought them to their feet.

‘What the fuck are you doing!’ The rough sleeper grumbled, rubbing some life into his heavily bloodshot eyes. ‘I was sleeping ye cunt!’ The man was probably in his early thirties, but had a lifestyle that added at least fifteen. He was clad in a dirty tracksuit and once-white cap, with about two weeks worth of greasy stubble visible on his cheeks.

‘I could see you were sleeping, you wee bastard.’ Ferguson squared his considerable bulk, and bared two rows of teeth. ‘Now hop-it, before I smash your junkie head in!’ If it came to blows there wouldn’t be much of a contest, but for some reason, their young squatter didn’t look like backing down.

‘This is private property.’ Lewis chimed up. Until then she had been stood silently in the background. ‘We will be back in the morning with the police and a warrant for your eviction.’

‘The window was left unlocked.’ The intruder spat, eyeing Lewis’ demeanour with disdain. Either her knee-length coat or boots probably cost more than he had earned in his life.

‘It was not unlocked.’ She corrected him. ‘There are signs of forced entry, and I have taken a photo of the latches still in place. If you want to play it this way, we’ll have to get the courts involved. Otherwise, just walk out through the door, and we’ll call it even.’

‘And who the fuck are you?’ The intruder retorted. ‘His fucking lawyer..?’

‘As a matter of fact I am– ’

‘What’s going on Mikey?’ Came a fresh voice, and another down-and-out arrived in the doorway leading from what was formerly Ferguson’s office.

‘Yer mate’s just about to make himself scarce, and so are you!’ Ferguson was now done with words, and looked ready to crack heads together if needs be.

‘Or what..?’ The second man asked with a guileful smile, as he was suddenly flanked by a brace of lieutenants.

‘Or I grab the lot of you by the scruff of the neck and throw you into street.’ Ferguson in formed him, much to Lewis’ discomfort. ‘And if you’re lucky I won’t snap yer fucking neck ye cheeky wee bastard.’

‘See… the thing is…’ The ring-leader looked thoughtful for a moment. ‘…I don’t think either of you have the Balls..!’ And with that, he removed a scuffed and dented old pokeball from his tracksuit jacket, turning it over in his hand as a grin spread across his crooked face.

Almost instinctively, Ferguson reached for his own pocket, before realising his mistake and clenched a fist instead. ‘You’ll put that ball back in your pocket, if you know what’s good for you pal…’ He said, but you could tell in his voice that he was worried.

‘Oh dear.’ The man laughed. ‘Looks like, you don’t have the balls after all!’ This was fallowed by a round of laughter from his gang members. ‘I’d throw you and your bitch lawyer out myself, but I think might be a bit more fun to let my mate do it.’ He lifted the pokeball above his head before throwing it with all the aggression he could muster. ‘Raticate; Go!!!’

‘RATICATE!!!’ The malnourished and moth eaten excuse for a creature stood between them, baring its yellowing fangs. On inspection, it was missing an eye, half an ear, and two toes on its left foot.

‘Now don’t do anything stupid, pal…’ Ferguson was slowly backing up towards the door.

‘Oh, we’re pals now, are we…’ The ring-leader got another chorus of laughter from his cohorts, while his pokémon twitched with an uncanny, nervous energy. ‘Raticate: Tail-whip, GO!’

’UMBREON: SHADOW BULLET!’

Ferguson had shut his eyes, bracing himself for the potential contact. When he opened them, a sleek coated Umbreon stood between them, poised and ready.

‘Raticate: get up.’ The man barked, kicking the pitiable wretch to its feet. ‘Scratch attack, come on you little shit!’

Raticate made a dive for the Umbreon, who was promptly instructed to get out the way, causing the rat pokemon to connect painfully with the far wall.

‘Umbreon; Foul Play! Finish it..!’ Lewis ordered, with purpose, as her pokémon caught its prone opponent square in the chest; and with nowhere to go, knocking it promptly out.

‘Now get out of here.’ She turned to the squatters. ‘Unless you want to see what happens when that connects with a human being…’

SHARKTAIL POST EP 26
CURTAIN OPEN WITH TEARS IN OMERICA

SHARKTAIL LINE UP:Ahmad,Harold,Hidawi,Izz(Irfan),Chandra,Azaim,Farhan,Nik Akif(Manaf Shahrul),Gaby©,Alfi

The first match have been held in Omerica. Sharktail, drawed in group C with Trolleborg, Havynwilde, New Lusitania and Nacrad. Sharktail manager, Sahami take a safe way and stated that all the team have their own strenght. He admit Sharktail may face a tough challenge in this cup.

First match against Nacrad, Sharktail have been choose as the favourite side to win. However nothing going well as predicted. Sharktail lose to Nacrad by one goal without reply. Sahami line up his strongest squad for this line up but it not cahnge anything. Sharktail failed to make any chance to score. At least 13 shot Sharktail made to Nacrad goal, only three shot was on target. Sharktail failed to conquer the midfield area, made Gaby and Alfi not receiving good chance to score. Both striker have to play more on the back and even need to help clearing opponet attack. In this match, Sharktail just lose 1-0 by luck. If you look at Nacrad stastic, from 9 shot to Sharktail goal, 6 was on target. One reached the net, 3 hit the bar, 2 barely touched by keeper and Sharktail GK only catch one. Not enough with their low rate performanace, Hidawi sent off at minute 64 give made Sahami lose for a while and forved him to put someone to help defence more. After the red card of Hidawi, Sharktail formation seem to be 5-3-1 but sometime it seen to be 7-2-0. No one from Sharktail forward play in their postion today. Gaby have been seen more in centre mid position while Alfi play more backward in defensive midfielder. What a rare situation for Sharktail.

End of first day, sharktail lose. With hidawi suspended from next game, Sahami have to replace him with someone else. However among all the defender they have in roster, Hidawi and Yusri is the highest rating, while the other really mediorce. For now, blue shark only can hope they not meet their end at second game. Sharktail need to bounce back before late. Three more match to go, let bounce back Sharktail.

WE ARE BLUE, WE ALWAYS HUNT,
WE ARE THE BLUE PREDATOR.
