The nations of Valladares and Chromatika are uniting to put to the consideration of the Executive World Cup Committee members a joint-bid to co-host the upcoming seventy-third edition of the Baptism of Fire.
Who are we?
Valladares
The Royal Government of Valladares, through the Federal Bureau of Tourism, and the Valladar Football Association would like to invite those nations that will entering their first World Cup to compete in the 73rd edition of the Baptism of Fire (or Bautismo de Fuego, as it will be called within Valladares exclusively for purposes of domestic marketing), which we expect to bring to Eastern Rushmore in association with Chromatika. Valladares is a nation located in the Terranea and Terramidia continents of the region of Rushmore, and is renowned for the beauty of its landscapes and natural environments as well as the kindness and compassion of its citizens. The nation's relatively recent opening to its neighbours and to the multiverse (mainly on the sports and diplomacy fields) has helped it establish cordial relationships with several other nations and has had a significant impact on its economy and culture, although the latter can be questioned due to the fact that its natural social heterogeneity, which was forged through history, makes it difficult to establish a "unified" Valladar culture.
Valladares is also known for being a nation with a strong footballing tradition, attested by the continuous presence at the main national and club football competitions in the multiverse of its national teams and clubs, with the Valladar national football team playing its first WC tournament back in the 47th edition and slowly turning into a force to be reckoned with, reaching its peak with its runner-up finish in World Cup 75 before entering a decline as of late, while clubs such as Fontvielle Impact, Marinos Metropolis, Metropolis Alligators, and others have also left their mark in club football with outstanding participations in international competition throughout time. Because of this background, and already having plenty of stadiums suited to the standards of top competitions, as well as previous successful hosting experiences, both the VFA and the Valladar government are strongly backing this attempt to bring to Valladar land this important tournament, this time joining its Chromatik counterparts in this bid, and will be looking forward to having this bid accepted by the Executive World Cup Committee and receive your nations with open arms for this upcoming Baptism of Fire.
Chromatika
A group of islands located in the far northeast corner of Atlantian Oceania, Chromatika is a land finally getting back on its feet after overcoming an apartheid caste system and going through a messy first free election. Gone are the days of the Chromatik Party through the efforts of the Rainbow Revolution; the Rainbow Party, under the new leadership of Keri Wyse Aart, is making strides on correcting past wrongs and uniting the Chromatik populace to be one people working toward the same goal.
A very strict nation in terms of recreation, smoking of any drug is banned in Chromatika to Chromatiks; any visitors are to express their intent before entering the nation. Drinking is allowed but only in moderation at designated restaurants and bars; personal possession of alcohol in one’s residence is also prohibited.
Though Chromatika is making strides in increasing international trade, there are still only three international airports that Chromatika accepts flights from: Ramusok (Cosumar), Quebec City (Royal Kingdom of Quebec), and Cathair (Audioslavia). Please arrange transportation to those airports and then fly to Chromatik City.
Chromatik domestic football just completed its twelfth season, the second under this current third iteration. First, it was the Chromatik League, and then the League Chromatiks; now is the era of the Rainbow League System, with six leagues of sixteen teams. These are supported by the Chromatik Collegiate Football Association, the newly-created U-18s league, and multiple high school leagues put on by the six districts.
The Chromatik national team has been the pride and joy of the country since its inception, having had multiple members on the starting lineup play instrumental roles in the Rainbow Revolution, including Franscesca Larriet-Cortes, the first manager of Chromatika who martyred herself during that revolution. The current Premier, Keri Wyse Aart, is the wife of the first Captain on the Chromatik squad, Luuk Aart.
Though the team has fallen on tough times lately - Chromatika failed to qualify to the World Cup Proper in an edition that it’s participated in for the first time since World Cup 74, and even lost out on the Round of 32 of the Cup of Harmony - the Chromatik faithful remain numerous and strong; when the Anomalies are playing, the streets are quiet, homes are full, and a hungry nation watches.
Scorination and RP Bonuses
The hosts shall be using xkoranate with the NSFS formula and additive style modifiers to scorinate all games of the competition. The full range of style modifiers, from +5 (most attacking) to -5 (most defending) will be used. A cumulative RP bonus shall be used and given that no participating nations will have a rank, the bonus will be directly input as the teams’ rank. Rosters will be rewarded with up to the full worth of a MD’s RP. The hosts shall not release the grading scale to be used; however, rest assured that this grading scale shall be generous and rewarding, especially considering that this tournament will serve as an introduction to the World Cup for the nations that will take part in it. In addition to this, both hosts are willing to foster creativity with prompts inviting participants to expand on character development, team identities, fans, pre/post-game rituals, among others.
Format
As World Cup and Baptism of Fire signups are underway, the exact number of nations that are going to take part in the upcoming Baptism of Fire is still unclear as of now, however, this bid contemplates a group stage and a knockout stage. Groups will be of an equal size and evenly spread in the two host nations, and will comprise at least four (4) teams. With four-team groups, a double round-robin group stage will be played, with groups of five (5) or more teams, a single round-robin group stage will be played.
Depending on the number of teams ultimately signed up and the size and number of groups to be used, the knockout stage shall feature sixteen (16) or thirty-two (32) teams.

The user behind the nation of Valladares is a well-established user, having been part of NS Sports since May 2009 (around the same time the forums moved out of Jolt) and taking part in the World Cup and other related competitions ever since, with Baptism of Fire 34, World Cup 47, and Cup of Harmony 39 being his first experiences in WCC competitions. As for hosting experience, this user has hosted successfully the following events:
