The Clovenan Dawn

Clovena demolishes Ohino!

Ohino, the only team which looked like they had a chance to give Clovena a fight lost with a score of 1-5 in their own home ground. This victory sends the Satyrs, 3 points ahead of La Boca, the second placed team.

After wiping out Erembourc 12-0 at the Leith, the Clovena team and fans were very excited to play with Ohino. Ohino played well throughout the tournament and the derby between the two top placed teams was much anticipated.

Clovenan strikers Jasper Elsevier (10', 45', 78') and Nickie Collins (54', 67') scored all the goals. With this victory, Clovena is almost sure to win the cup. La Boca is the only remaining obstacle but fans are sure that they will overcome.

In calm, but always forward

With a different climate than the previous games, "Los Azules del Riachuelo" defeated Rajputana 6-0, under torrential rain and strong winds.
The young Nahuel Suárez (23) played as a starter and throughout the match, along with Mario Alarcón, who returned after his suspension for the red card, and Hugo Tamayo, in a team made up mainly of substitutes.
The coach of our selection, Benjamín Ojeda Igarza could not participate in the match due to a flu condition, being replaced by Lucas Villalobos.
In a stadium where there were some people, with the appropriate "social distancing", Rajputana's team took advantage of their home and tried to take advantage of it within a few minutes of the start of the game, which scored a goal 8' after the first half, which was canceled by the referee for offside.
At just 22', midfielder Joel Ali scored the first goal, with a spectacular header that surprised the rival goalkeeper.
At 38' , Nahuel Suárez scored the second goal, with a sensational place-kick, being applauded by the team and the rival public.
At 43' came the third goal thanks to an own-gol. Then the first half ended with no extra time.
The fourth goal came at 61' of the game, scored by Joel Ali and with the assistance of Nahuel Suárez.
At 63’, Nahuel Suárez himself scored the fifth goal, from a penalty, after a foul against himself.
At 76' again "rompe-cabezas" Suarez scored a free kick, sentencing the game and scoring a hat-trick.
After the game, the young Suárez was interviewed by innumerable media from all countries, in the interview, he commented that "coming from a humble place has left him several teachings throughout his life, but defeat is not a bad thing but a positive teaching "to be able to move on".
He also indicated, on the verge of crying, that he would like to be an example to follow for the children of the Republic of La Boca, and even build an orphanage or a base for those most in need.
The team of our country is second in the classification, with 28 points like Ohino, our next rival.

The Clovenan Dawn

Exclusive interview of Vice-Captain Giuseppe

After thrashing Svitka in the Semi-finals yesterday with an amazing 3-1 score, the popular Caeser Flickerman interviewed the team vice-captain Giuseppe who scored the winning hat-trick.

Flickerman: So...Giuseppe! How're you feeling? That was quite a performance yesterday.

Giuseppe: Oh I'm feeling really swell. It was a great game and we were pretty confident we'll beat Svitka and we did just that. As for my performance, I did my best like I do every time. I was just lucky yesterday.

Flickerman: Now you're pitted against La Boca. They've been pretty consistent throughout the tournament and they've got a good lineup. Also they're the only team which lost to you with a very narrow margin. Are you sure you can beat them?

Giuseppe: Yes. La Boca is a threat. In our previous meeting, we somewhat underestimated them. Now that we know their worth, we'll do our level best to beat them down and take the cup home. We thought Ohino was strong and yet we demolished them. If we've got the determination, we can destroy La Boca too.

Flickerman: That confidence reassures me and the nation. So what do you think about future of Clovenan football?

Giuseppe: All I can say is that the future is very bright. Our performance has got the attention of everyone in Clovena. Now interest will blossom in our youth and hopefully the government will increase our funding. There is something in our blood which makes us good. Noticed Raja Makan from Ohino? He is a Clovenan by birth and he's superb! We have conquered UoD. We will soon conquer AoR itself! It's just a matter of time.

Flickerman: That's good to hear! Now about your captaincy...Reggie Mason will retire in style after the finals. After him you will captain the team till the AoR tournament. Will you retire after that? If yes, who's your successor?

Giuseppe: Yes. I will retire after the AoR tournament. I've been in the sport for quite a time now and I'm getting tired. After football, I'll be pursuing a career in writing. I was always interested in it. About the next captain after me...I don't know. There's still some time and we'll figure something out. As for now, La Boca is our obstacle.

Flickerman: Ladies and gentlemen, that was Giuseppe for you!

Mr. Suárez humiliating Ohino

Our national soccer team traveled by boat to the game vs. Ohino, in the stadium of his capital city. This was due to the few kilometers that separate us from that country. The national players were greeted by videoconference by coach Benjamín Ojeda Igarza, who managed to motivate them.
In Ohino City the day was very bright, and the local people were very excited to receive autographs from the idols Suárez, Alarcón and Ali. Prime Minister Facundo Pasarín was the guest of honor to witness the party, drawing sighs from several girls in the audience.
After the initial beep, the home team demonstrated their locality by baffling our team.
At 17 'from the start of the match, Ohino took the lead, scoring 1-0. With Suárez on the substitutes' bench, the national team did not know what to do.
At 26' midfielder Anthony Pardo missed a penalty, being booed by the fans.
From there, the home team did not give up and tried to score the second goal.
As the first half ended, at 45'+ 1 overtime, Ohino increased his lead and put its team 2-0 up.
The second half began, Ricardo Martí was replaced by Nahuel Suárez, who was applauded standing up and cheered up by the fans.
The substitution seemed to work, because at 52' of the game, Suárez scored 2-1 to ease the national team.
At 56', Israel Ruiz (17) scores the tie 2-2, leaving the home team totally shocked.
At 69', another spectacular free kick at the hands of Suárez gave us the victory for the us boquenses, with the crowd singing and cheering euphorically.
The match finally ended 3-2, with careful celebrations across our country.
In a post-match interview, Suarez said he will be father for the first time.
Now, we're in the final vs. Clovena, a thorn in the side, for sure.
