ICly, we request Græntfjall (GRÆ) be placed between Greater Vakolicci Haven (VKL) and The Hannasean Federation (HAN), because in Icelandic orthography the letter Æ comes at the end of the alphabet.

OOCly, I understand this is me being a complete pain-in-the-arse and won't press the matter!

It might be odd, but are my athletes allowed to carry non-loaded muskets as part of their attire at the opening ceremony?

Also I just realised I forgot to send both volleyball and water polo teams (I did the signup in a hurry), I guess it's too late now?

That's for Banija to decide, as you aren't participating in any events in Orean.

Yes, it's too late.

For RP information, this will be the athletes' marching order during the Opening Ceremony at each location.

All delegations will march in Istria, while only 62 delegations will march in Orean as there are delegations with no competing athletes in Orean. For some delegations, such as Vdara, that may be only competing in team sports outside of Istria, they may be represented by an NOC or team official.

Just out of interest, what's the marching order arranged by? Trying to work out how Kelssek marches after me in both cities.

FYI, if and when our combined delegation is called "Diarcesia unified team", the official IC term we use is "Team Diarcesian".

You're kind of right. The error is because that list was originally sorted by trigramme before I manually rearranged them. I simply missed Kelssek.

Kry would come before Kelssek by trigramme--KR vs KS. But then I saw some other examples, which is why I retracted.
Of course, we get to lead the way in Istria b/c Banj is our BFF :p

Host announcement
I have just discovered that one new event for Tokyo 2020, ARCHERY—Mixed team, is not on the extended list (though it should be, like the other new events). Therefore, I am adding this event using the following rules: Any delegation (with the same delegation code) that has entered the corresponding MEN'S and WOMEN'S TEAM events shall be added to the MIXED TEAM event. The athletes participating shall be that delegation's best male and best female archer, with the skill to be an average of the two, rounded UP to the next integer. This event shall not count towards delegation skill averages, nor MMAB calculations.

Host announcement
Scorination will begin tonight with Day -2.

The finalised schedules for Days -2, -1, and 0 can now be found in the results thread.

As there are no events in Orean today or tomorrow, Banija will be cutting off at the later time of around 9-11 pm Eastern. Dual scorinations and early cutoffs begin on Thursday, 13 August, which is also when the Opening Ceremony will take place.

A full schedule for Days 1–16 will be ready by tomorrow.

Good luck and enjoy the Games!

this isn't so much directed at the hosts, but more a general hypothetical situation for RP purposes.

what sort of IC time difference between the two cities are you thinking about incorporating into your stories?
I was working out what my TV coverage would look like & since Banj is in the same region, and I already RP him as being about 3 hours behind us, I came up with the trick of having Liventia 5 hours behind that, which means we could theoretically have round the clock live coverage.

I know that there is a wide latitude in interpretations on differences between regions regarding geographic placement and time zone differences. Just curious if anyone else has a thought...

Apologies for the problem in displaying accents in names in today's results. We will work on a fix for the remainder of the Games as it wouldn't be sustainable to have bad accent text encoding for all 560+ events.

I work with AO countries being 5-10 hours behind and Rushmori countries being 5-10 hours ahead Mattijanan time (with Esportivan countries being around the same few hours as us). That does pretty much guarantee all day coverage for us as Banijan action goes most of the way through our night with coverage from Liventia starting early in the morning and finishing mid-afternoon, with a bit of overlap somewhere during the day. Time zones are quite subjective (and confusing) though

I'm in the Eastern time zone, and that six hour block, 5pm - 11pm, is pretty much the only time I have to RP, work and sleep getting in the way during the week. :P So, could I ask that Baniji move up his scorination an hour or so? Otherwise, I'm basically locked out of RPing the results of events that happen in Banija. This may be a problem for other people in the Eastern time zone as well.

Thanks!

There is only one RP cutoff per day. Nothing is stopping you from RPing the previous day's results from Banija that would still count towards the next cutoff.

Also, while we're on the topic, procedural note regarding cut-off times:
As Banija will scorinate later than his cut-off window again tonight, and I am taking over cutting off RPs from Day 0, we have decided to scorinate Day 0 on Friday, 14 August to allow for roughly 36 hours between cutoffs instead of just 12 hours. However, we will proceed with RPing the Opening Ceremony in each city on Thursday using fluid time.

Perhaps I misunderstand.

The RP cutoff is at 5pm Eastern and Banija finishes scorinating at 11pm Eastern, right? If so, 11 pm is about when I'm starting to head for bed. I'm not available for RPing until 5pm the next day... which is the cut-off. So I have no time to do anything with Banija's results when everybody else is posting their RPs for that day. I could post them a day late, but that seems a bit odd.

Yes, you could do that. It shouldn’t affect your RP bonus.
Also, remember that it isn’t necessarily too important. NS should work around your personal life, not the other way around.
