Busoga Islands National Team

Information
Country code: BUS
Denonym: Busogans/Busoga Islanders/Islanders(Busoga Islanders is the formal term; many Banijans call them Busogans, while locals refer to themselves simply as Islanders, which will be the terminology used by the journalists of this country)
Association: Busoga Islander Soccer Association(BISA)
Manager: Bethany O'Donnell, 65, female, native of Brenecia. A very down-to-earth manager who drills humility and discipline into her players, making sure they do the hard yards and don't get carried away with their status. That lead to turning Pikemouth into one of the larger second-tier sides into a consistent UICA challenger. Unfortunately, she lost her way somewhat at Northern Union. With the SRS, she consistently lived up to expectations for four years, but rarely exceeded them. She was let go in her fifth year after a poor start to WC84 qualifying, but a third place finish at IAC8 the year before remains a feather in her cap. She began in AOCAF LX with this squad- while they struggled there, she has made big changes to the squad to mold them in her image for World Cup 85 Qualifying.
Senior Assistant Manager: Xavier Mosobo. 42 years old, male, native of Banija.
Captain: Hibbaan al-Shareef
Alternate Captain: Mohan Thakshak.
Home Kits: Red
Away Kits: Black
Alternate: White

Starting Lineup, Formation, and Tactics:

Image

The Valladar national football team is known for having its traditional 3-2-2-3 (or 3-4-3 for general reference) formation, which can turn into either a very aggressive yet non-conventional 3-2-5 for attacking or a 5-4-1 (a 3-6-1, even) when the team feel the need to enter into a defensive mode. La Nacional will always be looking to attack and retain ball possession for as long as possible, trying to score many goals in the shortest possible time and mounting an insurmountable lead for the second half of the match when players from both teams start showing signs of fatigue. This squad mostly relies on the speed of both Ronald Mickel and Arley Barrios on the wings both in attack and in defense modes, with Leonardo Rojas and Christian O'Brien playing the role of defensive midfielders that was well covered by Jonathan Bosetti and Pedro Pedretti in the past: both should be able to retreat to the defensive line with ease whenever the team lose ball possession in order to form a line of 5 defenders, thus giving rival forwards a very hard time when trying to break through the Valladar defense. Wilfried Baume, Alexandre, and Aymeric Fortin will be playing together up front, and the trio are well prepared under the premises of the typical Valladar forward: very speedy and talented, with the ability to seemingly harmless crosses into goals, create chances and score goals out of nothing, and kill defenses with speed and lethal counterattacks.

Boot It!: CoH77 Is Next For The Jaguars!

Postby TJUN-ia » Wed Jun 17, 2020 9:13 am

Image

Name: TJUN-ia
Trigram: TJU
Football Association: FA-TJUN-ia
Nickname: Jaguars (official)/Jags (shortform)/Blue and Orange (comonly-used informal)/Draw Masters (satirical)

WC85 was not kind to TJUN-ia, but now comes an opportunity for some redemption. The Football Association of TJUN-ia (FA-TJUN-ia) has been formally invited to 77th Cup of Harmony, which is hosted by Kelssek from The East Pacific and Zwangzug from Wrigley. One is a left-wing utopia (with similar values to TJUN-ia) from our region's (The North Pacific) eastern counterpart while the other is a checkerboard utopia from a region that worships the same U1 American Baseball team that the Secretary-General himself supports. It will certainly be a comforting experience for many who travel to these lands, but how are the Jaguars fairing as we enter our 2nd CoH?

TEAM (POST WC85Q)

After finishing 9th in their WCQ group, the Jaguars will be looking to show progress at this tournament. Manager David Seems and his assistant Li Xiu Ying will try to break the drawing tendencies of this TJUN-ian squad. This will be Seems' 2nd CoH after the disaster of 76 while Li is still looking to progress the team's mentality after leading them to the Quarterfinals of IAC9 on her own. This is the 2nd tournament that Seems and Li have done together, and they certainly hope that the players can show improvement over the WC.

FA-TJUN-ia wants to ensure that all players, either TJUN-ian or Galarian, have an opportunity to perform on the international stage. With only captain Jeff Donaldson and vice-captain Harold Gylfisson having experience in domestic football, the need to send more players across the multiverse is certainly a big one. FA-TJUN-ia will be hoping that clubs across the multiverse can consider taking someone from this team and helping them develop. With interest in football participation rising rapidly in the International Community, development anywhere is important for the future of TJUN-ian football.

TJUN-ia have played in a 4-3-3 since Seems took over as manager after BoF71. The team likes to move the ball forward, often using both the left and right defenders to achieve that. CAM is an important position, usually tasked with setting up one of the three attacking players but can create their own chances when required.

KITS
ImageImageImage

We're still using our first ever kits, from No Nonsense Sportswear of Filindostan. The home kit is a resemblance of the flag with the idea of "Blue and Orange" engraved into its soul. The away kit is an inverse of the home one and provides a unique look into the future of TJUN-ian design. The GK kit, nicknamed as "the Bumblebee", provides a contrast to the other kits while keeping the identity of the International Community in mind. Players and fans alike have certainly enjoyed these kits, so it's another reason for them to be excited about TJUN-ian football.

Team Personality
The Darmeni team will never argue with the referee. Indeed, if anything needs to be brought to the attention of the referee it will be done by either the Captain or Vice-Captain in a respectful manner (or to the fourth-official by the Manager). With regards to foul/dirty play, the Darmeni team will not provoke, or retaliate against any opposition player. Darmeni's expect each team to keep to itself and deal with its own trouble makers; any opposition player who attempts to prevent a conflict by pushing or pulling a Darmeni away from the scene will be promptly told off, as that is the duty of the Darmeni Captain.

Nonetheless, Darmen will play in a relatively aggressive manner. Tackles will be conducted in a way which ensures the opponent ends up on the ground, but causing injury will be avoided as much as possible. On set pieces, Darmenis will stand their ground and will not be easily pushed around, they will not however engage in hugging. In fact, if any opposing player tries to push past them, it is not uncommon for the Darmeni player to feign resistance before simply stepping aside and watching as the opposing player stumbles past on their way to ground. This occasionally backfires however, as the referee may mistake the incidence as having been a foul in the box.

The Grim Reapers Crest, designed by Kirola of Audioslavia. It is used internationally by all Quebecois national teams with the nickname Grim Reapers.

Royal Kingdom of Quebec National Football Team - World Cup 85 Qualifiers

There once was a time when the Grim Reapers were one of the best national teams in the World. Yes, I'm talking about that time when they had a remarkable semifinals run that fell short a couple of times, and Grim Reapers eventually finished fourth at home. Still, that was like 16 years ago, and almost all the players from that team have retired or are retiring in the very next or two. Heck, some of them are fairly seasoned managers at this point and their kids are now coming into our attention. God, how time passes by so quickly....!

Anyways, building the team bottom-up would mean another kind of fun. The Grim Reapers, while not unfamiliar to winning, have an entirely different squad than their predecessors, that they are going to primarily focus on building from international experience that they sorely need, especially after a decade and half of political squabble between Royal Sporting Council (responsible for the domestic side of the sports, so in this case Q-League), and Imperial Sporting Council (same, but on the international side of the fence and of course, all national team sides). So really, expectations are to be controlled and calmed down, because everybody knows this isn't the same team. But hey, the excitement's still around and abound, as you can only expect Team Chemistry as a minimum while also learning about the Growing Pains as a maximum. So, while making the World Cup seems rather a long-term goal at this point, but the Grim Reapers remain hopeful that they will reach there in a decade or fifteen years' time.

Home and Away Kits, brought to you by Infinite of Donnacona

Traditionally, Royal Kingdom of Quebec has picked the finest of the finest kit makers all across the Multiverse. After many decades of successful partnership with variou Quebecois companies, it decided to take a step forward when the Grim Reapers, just coming off their first-ever World Cup qualification the year before, signed a major contract with Audioslavian Kitmaker Kirola ahead of World Cup 70.

This was followed by the RQFA joining forces with the Red Blackilandian kitmaker Infinite, who brought their expertise with designing creative gears to new heights with the Grim Reapers ahead of World Cup 75. During their time with the Grim Reapers, while shorter on a six year run with Meski, compared to Kirola's decade long partnership with the Quebecois NT, achieved new heights by making its only semifinals appearance on the very last year of its contract.

Now, with the Quebecois return to international footballing scene, the time has come for a new kitmaker for the Grim Reapers to sign with. This time, after much deliberation, the Donnaconan kitmaker Infinite was chosen over various Quebecois and foreign kitmakers to procure a long-term, multi-year contract with the Grim Reapers. As the Quebecois looks to return to the international footballing prominence they once held, the RQFA looks forward to its (hopefully) longtime partnership to come with Infinite.

Manager: Sir. Lionel Mah, 68
Assistant Manager: Federico Rassmussen, 37, Valladares
Goalkeeping Coach: Sergei Adamovich, 53, Novopetrograd
Defensive Coach: Eugene Cohen, 56
Midfields Coach: Mark Hailey, 35, Xanneria

Sir. Lionel Mah is a man of promises. When the former CSKA Quebec manager came to Quebec City after the club's revival of fortunes (and their first Q-League title in 33 years!), he promised to the Schottians that their time will come sooner than later. That promise eventually became true, as Mah achieved unprecedented height of glory for the Schottian side that eventually capped it off with sweet, sweet, WC79 title. Since then he managed CSKA Quebec for a five season run that saw him win 2 titles (landing his name as the 'Only Curse-breaker in the Eternal City of Lights) and then a couple of solid seasons with Willox Street Pirates, a Port Christopheran giant who then joined the Schottian Premiership. After the club's post-Willoxian financial difficulties caused him to part ways with the club, he was quickly snapped up by none other than RQFA. Having signed the offer, the long-knighted Mah (he was knighted in 2030, so exactly twelve years ago, after Schottia won the World Cup 79) is expected to play a major role as the Grim Reapers begin a gradual but long journey back to the top echelons of international football.

A very experienced manager with highly fiexible style of management, Mah is expected to make adjustments as necessary. Having been part of two consecutive sides in CSKA Quebec and Schottian national team definitely helped with that approach for the level-headed man, and he's always prepared for some kind of needed adjustment to be made. He'll try something- no matter what- even when this may be unsuccessful. Still, he's an offensively-driven man by hart, so don't expect them to go completely on defence and lock the entire turf. For the formation, the Grim Reapers are expected to use the 4-2-3-1 formation that he used with great success back in Schottia, but is open to use 4-3-3, 3-5-2, 3-4-3 or whatever that he feels needs to happen.

One thing to take a particular note with the manager, especially for those who remember the Quebecois national team's heydays, is that he is just as much a disciplinarian, if not even more, than his predecessors. There once was a time when he was lot more flexible with crazy antics, but after a solid decade in Schottia, where she had to deal with CORINNE MARTEL-BURNS and Gary Corsie, he's hardened up a bit. So while he'll tolerate most players' off-pitch antics as a lifestyle-related choice, he's most likely not going to handle bullshit when on pitch for his players, and would gladly kick a garbage fan to show his frustration with a player's performance or unwillingness to listen.

GOALKEEPERS (3)

Neck-to-Neck
#1, Okropir Cadwaladr-Andjaparidze, 23, Turoki Tide (Vilita) - 6 caps
#31, Nelson Okello, 25, Hoima Warriors (Banija) - 6 caps

Backup
#21, Sandra Middleton, 17, Zenit Attawapiskat - 2 caps

Yes, there is a legitimate goalkeeper controversy in the town. The Grim Reapers, traditionally known for its stable of elite goalkeepers who more often than not have to cover for defensive lapses, have two very good goalkeepers on paper. Unfortunately, neither have proved themselves clearly, as they got shelled fairly equally and eventually had to be helped out in AOCAF 60, where 41-year old Neville McKinley played the last of his 25 caps for the Grim Reapers. The Grim Reapers, of course, will have to hope that either Cadwaladr-Andjaparidze or Okello will get into their usual form and actually make some difference on the field.

Nelson Okello, the starting goalkeeper for the CSKA Quebec the previous 5 seasons, just moved to Hoima Warriors of Banija in a highly-publicised move that many viewed as a clear upgrade. Okello is a great shot stopper whose decisionmaking skills more than not cover for his reflexes. He is a good goalie with good mindset and, having earned the favour of the manager, is expected to start at least 8 of the qualification games this cycle.

While his presence is commanding enough, the backup Okropir Cadwaladr-Andjaparidze is also a goalkeeper many should not ignore. The Quebecois sweeper, who had just come off a solid season with Turoki Tide of Vilita, is the prototype sweeper keeper Quebec has been looking for since Ondrej Cech. While he was unable to translate his excellent distribution skills and remarkable zone coverage with his reflexes, he is expected to play significant number of games and remains firmly in consideration to overtake Okello in depth chart.

Then, the most intriguing option out there may be Sandra Middleton. The 17-year old, Quebecois-Nepharim dual citizen, who moved from her hometown of Stahlburg (Nephara) to play for Zenit Attawapiskat, was the biggest newsmaker in Quebecois football when she took over. While not the most statistically dominant player out there, her remarkable reflexes and extremely consistent form have convinced many in a matter of single season that maybe she's the very future of Quebecois goalkeepers. While she may not be getting much playing time at this point in time, that's not a bad thing. It's a good thing that a player that young is introduced to international competition, especially after a couple of solid matches in the Seventy-second Baptism of Fire.

DEFENDERS (7)

Key Starters (2)
#12 Donovan Lumaniyka, 22, CSKA Quebec - 14 caps
#20 Lucien Raeff, 24, Montreal Koreana - 16 caps

Borderline (3)
#2 Eileen Green, 34, Swangard Athletic - 13 caps
#4 Sam Oronhyatekha, 33, Hamilton Steelers - 10 caps
#24 Leah McKechnie, 24, Haligonian - 9 caps

Backups (2)
#3 Sean Piugattuk, 26, Iqaluit Red Army - 7 caps
#69 Hazel Hanson-Conavacio, 17, Shenso-Shukujo Ladies HS, Kita-Hinode - 6 caps

To be frank, this is probably the weak spot on the team, not because it's a bad group of players, but also because the way that team is coached. The Grim Reapers, over the course of Quebecois football history, have been renowned for their offensively-driven style of 'Quebecois Takil', with the emphasis on flashiness and violence. Even then, the Quebecois always had elite defenders, as we've seen with the likes of Lorne Dunford (Blau-Weiss Pallstadt, Buyan; and Turoki Tide, Vilita), Jannick Kontiola (OAS Royal FC, Cosumar), Devane Miller (Chatswood, Nephara), and of course, Karl Varsteeg (Avenida Principal, Farfadillis), and this team does have some. It's just that they will likely require lot more time to tune it together and see whoever would be the best possible shipmate to Lucien Raeff.

Widely represented by many as the Old and the New of the team, Eileen Green and Hazel Hanson-Conavacio are neck to neck on left back position. Green is one of the Q-League's finest stars during its sixteen years of hiatus from the international stage, and brings with her the defensive reliability and leadership that the team solely needs. Hazel Hanson-Conavacio, on the other hand, is the fullback of the future; tall, jacked and unbelievably fast, Hanson-Conavacio was one of the finest players of the Hinodean high school football and is expected to continue the transition when she takes furthering of her crafts to Haligonian, where her late start to the game (she started playing at age 13) should be neutered with accelerated training from her father, Haligonian manager and Quebecois legend Leonardo Conavacio.

On the right back, the situation is lot more competitive than transitional, for those who wonder about it. Donovan Lumanyika, signed to CSKA Quebec after an excellent season with Trojana Condommakers FC in what was a $4 million NSD move, is a gritty, rough rightback who has already shown the signs of flashes comparable to that of Jannick Kontiola. At 22 years of age, he's already a key contributor to the team that has enough problems without him on the right flank and should aim to play well....as long as he doesn't get yet another red card. Sean Piugattuk, his backup, is also another defensive option who rarely commits to a mistake, but his lack of vision and slower speed is something that should limit his use, for this deficiency is going to be exposed more often than not with this team that does not use 5 backs (which only Iqaluit and Trojana use, to be honest).

Now is the position of key strength and concern at the same time. Lucien Raeff, to be frank, is the best player on the Quebecois national team, and it's not even close. While the Montreal Koreana defender didn't have the necessary pace, stamina or even outstanding man-to-man defence (very good but not outstanding), but his exceptional on-turf IQ, areas of defensive coverage, accurate long-range passes and leadership eclipse his deficiencies. Having already achieved two MVP awards and being named as the national team's vice captain, he's expected to be that lone defensive anchor for the team that desperately needs one.

Unfortunately, the issue is that Raeff is that he's best suited for a three-back system, and in team like Quebec where three-back system usually equals suicide, that becomes very problematic. So much of the time spent by the coaching staff will be on finding adequate partner for Raeff. Sam Oronhyatekha the fire, Leah McKechnie the steel, and Joseph McLean the iron are all expected to get significant playing time to find that right solution.

MIDFIELDERS (7)

Key Starters (2)
#6 Anton Vujadinovic, 31, Montreal Koreana - 15 caps
#8 Marco Hertel, 19, Servette FC (Valladares) - 17 caps

Borderline (3)
#41 Sinead MacDougall, 23, Umnama'kik-Inverness 1877 - 10 caps
#14 Erin Kang, 21, Rülândéá Kôstä (Farfadillis) - 13 caps

Backups (2)
#13 Seamus McKellar, 24, Haligonian - 8 caps
#16 Evander Bush-Sprenger, 24, Heart of Saguenay - 7 caps

For a country where there would be a couple of solid but never dominant players in the position (barring the earth-defying Frederic Beauchemin), this is a solid group of midfielders we have in Quebec.

Among them all, Marco Hertel is the most special of them all. The Jeruselemite-Quebecois, who is best known as the eldest of five children between Xavier Hertel, the legendary Quebecois footballer, and Princess Anna of Jeruselem, is as talented as his father was and hopes to deliver the same with Servette FC of Valladares. He is an offensive–minded midfielder who plays both central and attacking midfielder position at will. As the team's main playmaker, due to his unique vision and remarkable passing range, he is going to see a lot of ball touches and is expected to stay as the alpha and omega to the offence....as long as he lets his personal life sorted out.

Anton Vujadinovic, on the other hand, is the most loved of all Quebecois players. The Grim Reapers' captain, who also captains Montreal Koreana, is the heart and soul of the team and is universally loved by all for his outstanding personalities. Unlike his teammate, Vujadinovic is traditional midfielder, in that he prefers to do the nit and grit that comes along with defensive responsibility. Of course, he, the jack-of-all-trades guy, is perfectly happy and willing to help the team out on that role.

Finally, we should talk about the next four players on the team. Erin Kang, the third starting midfielder of the team, is an outstanding middle ground between Hertel and Vujadinovic, as the tall, rangy winger brings with the team all the right traits needed for the central midfielder. Her strengths derive from her speed, off-the-ball movement, work rate and of course, energy (which saw him deployed all over the midfield). Sinead MacDougall is a remarkable passer with vision rivalling that of Marco Hertel (!) who is also well known as outspoken leader for the social rights, but the concerns over her body of glass means that she is usually at her best when played under a joker role.

Seamus McKellar, like Kang and Vujadinovic, is a helluva lucky guy. An underheralded prospect with Haligonian, he quietly rose to starting position as former manager Norman Hacker's last protege. Then came Leonardo Conavacio, who gave him free reins to run the team, and boy did he excel as the Haligonian placed fourth in league and won the Coupe du Roi. This continuous renewal of confidence eventually got him noticed by Lionel Mah, who liked this mercurial, hardworking midfielder with excellent technique so much that he promised Leonardo Conavacio to keep a particular eye on the player. It will certainly be interesting to see if he will successfully challenge Marco Hertel, though.

Evander Bush-Sprenger is another promising midfielder who was the only consistent factor in wildly inconsistent Heart of Saguenay side the previous two seasons. While often called out for missed defensive responsibilities, the son of a Donnaconan and a Valladar immigrant in Chicoutimi is still a top-class card for the Quebecois and is expected to receive some playing time as a substitute.

FORWARDS (6)

Key Starters (2)
#10 Roderick Yi, 19, Turoki Tide (Vilita) - 13 caps
#18 Michel Fillion, 20, Montreal Koreana - 10 caps

Borderline (2)
#9 Pablo Mancosu, 21, Pradera FC (Valladares) - 9 caps
#77 Michael Kasaboski-Wilcox, 25, Herzegovina City Phoenix (Banija) - 8 caps

Backups (2)
#11 Min Dong-Jin, 28, Olympique de Rimouski - 6 caps
#17 Nelson Ha, 29, Umnama'kik-Inverness 1877 - 4 caps

Everybody and their mother knows that the Quebecois national team is always filled with remarkable corps of forwards, even on their cycles, and the same rule applies even to this rendition of Grim Reapers. While there is no clear favourite nor a successor to any of the Quebecois Quintet of Leonardo Conavacio (Alianza FC, San Jose Guayabal), Zachary Fortin (Marinos Metropolis, Valladares), Angelo Gelinas (Avenida Principal, Farfadillis), Xavier Hertel (CD FAS, San Jose Guayabal), Hazel van Robben (CD FAS, San Jose Guayabal; and 1830 Cathair, Audioslavia), the current group of Quebecois forwards is still an excellent one that has the right mindset and nosedive for the goal.

Michel Fillion is the prototype poacher, physically thicc striker with powerful shot and good technique complementing a 197cm, 89kg figure. While his stubbornness and particular mentale problems have some far prevented him from becoming a complete forward, he still is the likeliest goalscoring option for Quebec and is expected to start a ton of games.

To the right is Roderick Yi, the latest signing by Turoki Tide from Kingston FC. Yi, the most promising forward prospect coming out of Quebecois football, is an all-arounder whose clean, precise moves amaze many in deking past the oppposition defence. While notorious for his club-going antics, he is still a very hardworking player who wants to get better and hopes that his 45 goals in past 2 seasons with Kingston FC will prove for something even greater on sight. Pablo Mancosu plays on the opposite wing and is a clinical winger who who happens to be defensive stalwart as well. Don't expect him to score a ton, but he will land crisp crosses and will contribute with more assists than you'd think.

To back up Roderick Yi, is Michael Kasaboski-Wilcox, who just signed with Herzegovina City Phoenix after having an excellent season with Zenit Attawapiskat in a dreadful season where he was one of the team's two bright spotlights. Min Dong-Jin and Nelson Ha are both flashy forwards who are fast, all-arounded strikers who can also double up as a left (Min) or right wing (Ha).

#57 ST Jasper de Buxhoeveden, 27, Montreal Impact - 1 cap
#86 LW/ST Kim Jong-Yoon, 19, Perce Town - 1 cap

Yes, this is a fucking backup pool and you can probably figure out from this list alone that you won't always see these guys play. If anything, it's gonna be rare to see any of them play a ton of minutes! Still, this pool of player is worth looking at because it's where the last two players out of twenty five will be selected out of every Quebecois national team match. Some are elderly players likely heading towards retirement in few years, but others are either well in the height of their playing careers, or may just be waiting for the right occasion for them to step up and land their showcase moment. So keep an eye on this list, because you never know at any moment they might make that difference for the Quebecois national team (or the opponents)!

TEAM INFORMATION

The manager, Krisna Hendra Sudirman, always plays with three players up front, as he always do while being Venividicci manager. He always releases the starting lineup 12 hours before the match, barring any other unforseen circumstances. He uses the following formations in his matches, sorted from the most preferred to the least preferred:
    3-4-3
    4-3-3
    5-2-3

Play Style
STYLE MODIFIER: -0.002
Historically, the play style of the team is of a more attacking lineup, looking to score more goal scoring opportunities. The team usually utilize pacey wingers to deliver dangerous balls to the penalty box during coordinated attacks. Filindostani players are usually physical, especially the defenders. Cautions are mostly common due to their physical plays.

With Sudirman's appointment as manager, he tries to balance the style of his team, balanced between attack and defense, usually to less effect, as they only had a single clean sheet during the tournament, and have conceded a total of eight goals during the playoffs itself.

Fans
Filindostani fans are double-edged swords - sometimes they are most passionate fans in Filindostan, sometimes, they can be compared to the worst of internet trolls. Around five thousand diehard fans will travel to the host nation to watch their team play - but they usually bring their megaphones and flares with them - they somehow make it past the guards. Some fans are crazy enough to invade the pitch and cause match delays. The fans recently caused problems to the national team after doing riots and attacked both team buses after Filindostan's 3-0 forfeit against Damukuni during the 26th Campionato Esportiva. As a result, they were ordered to play the first three home matches of the WC85Q in an empty stadium.

NATIONAL KITS INFORMATION
Image Image Image

Filindostani kit makers No Nonsense Sportswear (NNS) have provided the national kits from their debut at the Campionato Esportiva 20 up to the present. Unlike the current kits, Filindostan used a black kit as their primary, and a white kit as their secondary, when the FNSC was still administering the football affairs of the nation. After the split, the nation adapted the red #CE1126 variant as their sporting color, and NNS commissioned a new set of kits prior to their participation in the Baptism of Fire 66 tournament, which they won. Since then, they have used the same design of the kits up to today, as the planned deal with Starblaydi kitmaker ediraf encountered several delays, with the delivery date of the kits still unknown.

Image

The primary kit is red shirt with black trim, paired with black shorts, and white socks. In case of shorts clashes, a red shorts from their alternate kit and red socks are available, if further color clash occurs (i.e., red and white hooped socks, then the black socks which is primarily only used by goalies will be used.

The secondary kit is white shirt with black trim and sides, with the design used the same as the black kit used in their debut tournament, with this paired by a red shorts with black sides, and red socks. Home shorts and socks can be used in case of color clashes.

If both kits clash with the home team, they use the all-black kit usually used by the keeper, with the keeper using a stock yellow keeper kit.[/box]

Maccian Football Association's Squad For The Cup of Harmony 77

Brief Team Introduction

The Riflemen ended the World Cup 85 Qualifiers with 35 points, with Zeyla, Kiyle and Aurellix practically carrying the team. Angelo Gelinas changed the team's tactics from having no specific gameplan to being heavily focused on counter-attacking. The kids out there actually did alright as they finished 6th in the group. The team is unchanged so it seems that Angelo Gelinas is waiting for the Maccian Football League to kick off so that he can dump the shitty players like Eidon, Ajiernudun, Rupio-Yakezeid add new players to the team who will fit the system. Don't get it twisted, Maccian is probably going to be pummeled by other higher-ranked teams, but this tournament could provide a lot more experience for the team out there.

Nickname: The Riflemen

Manager: Angelo Gelinas, Age 48 from Quebec

Angelo Gelinas, in some ways, is the very definition of 'the balanced Quebecois' which, while sounding oxymoron, is plausible by any means. Earlier in his life, he had a very illustrious, well-celebrated career with Avenida Principal in Farfadillis and the Quebecois National Team, where he played a significant role as both their star forward (playing style: complete forward). His highest achievement as a player was his significant role in Quebecois NT's 2 quarterfinal finishes and a 4th place run in the World Cup, as well as making the Champions' Cup final for Avenida Principal.

Since his retirement, Gelinas moved onto a managerial career, where he steadily climbed up the ranks before being named the manager of Montreal Koreana, the most historic and winningest team in Quebec. There, on a club that needed an uptick in form from 3rd-6th finishing range, Gelinas managed to bring back the Koreana with 2 Q-League titles and 2 Coupe du Roi titles before continuing his career abroad with Marinos Metropolis. There, he led the longtime Valladar powerhouse to 2 mediocre league finishes (9th and 6th) in LFV, but have also won a King's Shield (Valladar FA Cup) and had 2 deep runs in the newfound IFCF. After his firing by the Marinos, he hopes to continue his managerial career with Maccian, a national team with high potential and balanced playing style he likes emphasising about.

As a manager, Gelinas is a guy who focuses on a balanced style of play with a typical Quebecois flair the game. With his famed work ethic dating back to his playing days with Avenida Principal, Gelinas expects all his players to be on top of a rigorous training regime and be clean with executions. That said, he's not a disciplinarian himself, and will turn blind eye to his players' off-turf antics, granted they perform well.

Clearly, he is an accomplished manager who has won trophies and so will help this young Maccian side towards future greatness and prosperity. We only have the Supreme Leader to thank, because he is the one who negotiated this deal with Gelinas. Although his rigorous training regime could lead to a lot of injuries considering these are teenagers and young players still early in their careers. But we have no problem with being clean with executions, hell that's why we only hang people! Gelinas has taken our team to a new level with his tactics and will hopefully surprise a few teams.

Pandemic RP Note: While I fully respect the right of everyone to RP their nation as they see fit, and that includes whether or not they want to RP a pandemic, please be aware that I will not be interacting with any such RP. If I choose to acknowledge an opponent’s possible pandemic RP, I will simply say that your nation is overreacting to the flu. More then likely though, I will just not do a dedicated match report for that matchup.

NEWMANISTAN ROCKETS

OFFICIAL ROSTER FOR CUP OF HARMONY 77

Team is the reigning Campionato Esportiva champion!

Starters:
Image GK: #1- Ryan McNamara (26, Tundra Falls Mariners) (BENCHED: NO LONGER THE STARTER AFTER MD2)
– A taller keeper that prefers to rely on instincts. Is often aggressive towards the shooter, and this has seen him have success, especially while at the Proving Grounds. He is not as successful in road games, but is still considered the best keeper in the nation and is coming off an excellent campaign in the Campionato Esportiva.

Image LB: #2- Tim Marley (29, Rovers United, Zwangzug)
– An average frame, but an overall high work ethic. Very good with his overall positioning, and is not often going to be faked out by an opponent. Though he can be outmuscled.

Image LCB: #4- Scott Corellis (28, Pocono City Capitals)
– Complements Marley in that he is the strength on the left side of the defense. That is the thought process anyway, because these two have never actually played together before.

Image RCB: #5- Adrian O’Bryan (32, Kitara Athletic Association, Banija)- TEAM CAPTAIN
– An intelligent defender, but sometimes a little too overconfident. While he knows the game very well, and is very studious when watching game tape in preparation, he trusts himself a little too much.

Image RB: #3- Shawn Stoddard (27, Austin City, Xanneria)
– While Corellis is a strong player, Stoddard is the most physical of the group. He will not be shy to be aggressive towards the opponent and figures to lead the club in bookings. Was a fan favorite in Centralia and likely is becoming that with Austin City. Enjoys eating poppyseed bagels.

Image LM: #8- Jorge Cortez (28, Pocono City Capitals)
– Excellent two way player, that will both score goals and be one of the first ones back to defend. He has very good chemistry at home with Scott Corellis, and it should be expected that they will hook up once or twice for a goal.

Image CM: #9- Tyrone Vannella (30, Springfield Thoroughbreds)
– Has blazing speed and a ton of talent. Unfortunately, he is also known to be an arrogant player, and some players on the team might not be thrilled he is on the team. He’ll be the last one to show up at practice, and the first to leave. Not a fan friendly player, either.

Image RM: #12- Jarrell Connolly (28, Putnam Lake Eagles)
– Playing in Putnam Lake, where soccer is the most popular within Newmanistan, Connolly has a lot of pressure on him. Thankfully, he has always been able to handle that. He’s played with Vannella before, and despite their differing personalities, they have been known to play well together.

Image LS: #10- Brent Chapman (26, Tundra Falls Mariners)
– Has a hard shot and is very accurate with it. He’s not going to do much else for the team, though. Can be beaten by a strong defender.

Image ST: #15- Jerome Beyer (29, South Charlotte Condors)
– An astute passer, Beyer will be looking to set up either Chapman or Schaefer, or another Rocket more then he will be looking to put shots on goal himself. Very creative with the ball and getting by defenders.

Image RS: #11- Derek Schaefer (28, Southport Tigers)
– Figures to be the team leader in goals. While Chapman has a harder and more accurate shot, Schaefer has more overall skill that will allow him to get more shots on net. He’s no slouch with his shot power or accuracy either, though.

Regular Substitutes:
GK: #21- Aaron Scarpa (32, North Charlotte Wildcats)
CB: #6- Calvin Douglas (29, South Tier Seagulls)
CB: #7- Thomas Caprotti (28, Loudon Leopards)
MID: #13- Dirk Donato (29, Dover City Mountaineers)
MID: #17- Samantha Paschke (31, Centralia Firebirds)
ST: #14- Jimmy Halligan (28, Jessicaville Millionaires)
ST: #16- Antonio Cruz (25, Penthoria Riverman)

Reserves:
GK: #25- Jesse Gallant (29, Olympia Gladiators) (STARTER MD3 AND ONWARD)
CB: #22- Neil Blades (21, North Charlotte Wildcats)
CB: #23- Eli Watson (27, Brighton Bulls)
MID: #18- Peyton McLeod (27, Nashua Broncos)
MID: #26- Saquon Shields (29, Loudon Leopards)
ST: #19- John Baker (28, Pocono City Capitals)
ST: #24- Shane Shuster (21, Daytopia Racers)

Manager- Michael Starre (Drawkland- Took role after MD10 of qualifiers)
Formation: 4-3-3
Skill Modifier: +3.5
Uniforms: Home- Sky blue with white trim; Away- Black with sky blue trim; Keeper- Yellow with sky blue trim. If conflict- White with sky blue trim

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod Scoring Events: Yes

Godmod injuries to my players: No

Hand out Red cards to my players: Yes, but no more then one more then you give yourself.

RP Pandemics: I will politely ignore or downplay any such thing in an opposing nation if they are affected, and do not wish to interact with the theme.

Interested in a Newmanistanian player to transfer to your domestic league?
– The Empire of Newmanistan Soccer League (ENSL) provides an opportunity for our best soccer players to make a good living and pays them fairly enough, so it’s not as if these players are not making good money and living a good life with good enough fan support. However, soccer, or as you may say, football, is not as big in Newmanistan in comparison to other sports. Therefore, they are likely to be convinced and interested in the prospects of playing in a league with a higher profile. Ones that do those domestic club competitions. If you are interested in a player, simply TG me and it is highly likely I will say yes as long as I consider your league to be at least equivalent to the ENSL. If you’re just developing your league and are interested, I ask that you target subs and reserves first. Those transfers will probably be accepted.

FLAVOVESPIA

Introduction

Although the ultimate goal for Flavovespia, a berth in the World Cup proper is yet to be realised, the World Cup Qualifies 85 will most likely go down as a success for the national team, nicknamed The Hornets. In a mammoth 24 game qualifying cycle, Flavovespia won 13 of their games, including a 2-1 victory over South Covello. From Pot 6, Flavovespia finished 4th in the group, level on points with South Covello. They come into the Cup of Harmony off the back of 4 consecutive wins, and 6 from the last 7 won. However Flavovespia know that the intense short-term nature of a tournament abroad is a different kettle of fish to the home and away marathon of qualifiers. In their 3rd appearance in the Cup of Harmony, Flavovespia will hope to live up to the expectations of being a higher seed, and move into the knockout stages of this tournament for the first time.

Flavovespia named 30 players for the long qualifying campaign just gone. However, for the Cup of Harmony 77, they revert back to the classic 23 man squad to make the journey to Zwangzug or Kelssek. 7 of the 30 squad who appeared in qualifiers will unfortunately have to wait for another chance to represent the national side. Goalkeeper Robert Jones was considered the second choice as recently as AOCAF 60. However he’s not impressed enough since, and was edged out of the final squad. The defensive trio of Alastair Ross, David Lyons and Stephen Moore always looked likely to be dropped, the former 2 still young and lacking experience, the latter not up to the level of the other right backs. In midfield, Charles Winward’s return to the national side wasn’t met with any major successes. William Somers was a surprise call-up for some anyway, so to see him dropped isn’t a surprise. Up front, and Marc Sharratt’s lack of goals in the qualifiers means he’s probably the biggest surprise to be out of the national side.

Roster

(Note, all caps and goals are taken as of the end of WCQ 85)
Goalkeepers
Image ImageImage
Meehan, Hartwell, Bullivant

1 David Meehan Age: 30 Club: Bavingtor Caps: 54 Goals: 0
23 Richard Hartwell Age: 26 Club: Capital FC (XAN) Caps: 5 Goals: 0
24 Andrew Bullivant Age: 31 Club: Langmere Green Rovers Caps: 5 Goals: 0

David Meehan wasn’t always at his best in the qualifiers, and was dropped twice, after poor performances at The Appraisal To The Allmighty MR TAYTO and Main Nation Ministry. However, on both occasions he was recalled to the starting XI, and looked improved after his time on the bench. Meehan’s a solid shot stopper, although not by any means exceptional. His distribution in Flavovespia is second to none, and he can force any defence to be right on their toes as soon as he has the ball.

Richard Hartwell was usually fairly consistent in the qualifiers, with the exception of the 0-4 loss at home to Taeshan. The only international based player in the Flavovespia National Team, Hartwell plays in the notoriously attacking Omega Division in Xanneria. Hartwell has definitely honed in his shot stopping in that league for Capital FC, although he lacks the passing and handling to beat Meehan to the spot between the posts consistently.

Andrew Bullivant is 3rd choice goalkeeper for Flavovespia. He played just the 45 minutes in the dead rubber match vs Freeport, but didn’t concede. Generally a solid goalkeeper, he just doesn’t quite have the same level of ability as Meehan and Hartwell, and thus his 5 caps is unlikely to increase it seems.

Left Backs
ImageImage
Maddox, Vaughan

2 Ronald Maddox Age: 29 Club: Marthorpe City Caps: 55 Goals: 2
13 Scott Vaughan Age: 28 Club: Kings Lunsel Caps: 18 Goals: 0

Ronald Maddox didn’t have the best of qualifying campaigns. In the first game, he went off injured with an ankle injury, missing several games. He then seemingly struggled in his first few games back into the squad, not looking quite up to pace. However, the last few have seen him put in some very solid displays at the back. One of the more attacking defenders, he’s not afraid to get forward with the ball, but is more cautious in a back 4. Pace wise, he can definitely keep up with many on the wing, although he does sometimes lose his man in the challenge.

Scott Vaughan is very much the opposite of Ronald Maddox. Not someone you’d expect to see going forward, but a tough defender to get around. What he lacks in pace he can make up for in positioning, making himself a challenge for wingers. He played reasonably well in the times Maddox was unavailable, but was eventually pushed back to the bench. However the left back position will be one of the most fiercely contested in the Flavovespia squad.

Centre Backs
ImageImageImageImage
James, Gardner, Wright, May

4 Mark James Age: 31 Club: Marthorpe City Caps: 55 Goals: 1
5 Tony Gardner Age: 25 Club: Kings Lunsel Caps: 68 Goals: 1
14 Neil Wright Age: 25 Club: Stanmorn Caps: 38 Goals: 0
15 Alexander May Age: 27 Club: Langmere Green Rovers Caps: 40 Goals: 1

Mark James went through something of a redemption arc in the qualifiers. In the second game, his reckless challenge saw him sent off, and was considered one of the reasons for Flavovespia’s loss in that game. Benched for many games, and only making sporadic substitute appearances, he then kept 2 clean sheets in a row. Although the 0-4 loss at Taeshan was a blight on his record, the final few games him and Gardner looked very comfortable even against some top strikers. It will be interesting to see if he makes the starting XI for the Cup of Harmony opener. Tall and strong, he is a typical no-nonsense style of defender.

Tony Gardner was in some shaky form early on, nearly gifting Eastfield Lodge a goal in their qualifier in Flavovespia. However, in the second half of the qualifiers, he returned from a minor injury and was much improved. Often in control of the back line, he was tough without overstepping the mark or showing some of his previous petulance. Only 25, he’s one of the Flavovespians very much on course to hit a century of caps before he retires. Gardner may not be the most talented tackler, but he’s not afraid to play the ball with his feet as a defender, even if sometimes he maybe takes too many risks.

Neil Wright is something of an enigma. He’s very strong and versatile at club level, but doesn’t quite get it done at international level. He made few starts but quite a number of sub appearances in the qualifiers. For a centre back he is quite pacey and good with the ball, but doesn’t match up as well with others in terms of strength and tackling. He may get some appearances at the Cup of Harmony, but is unlikely to be a starter, injuries not withstanding.

Alexander May had a good qualifying campaign by his standards. His first international goal, scored against Eastfield Lodge, and plenty of starts. He’s very much on the old-school side of the centre bback style debate. Strong, tough, and not one afraid to get stuck in. Maybe not the most talented in the side, but he’s got a “high floor” in terms of performance, and rarely lets his morale drop. He’s in contention for a starting spot, but it’ll be close to see who Crawford selects.

Right Backs
ImageImage
Shepherd, Blythe

3 Stephen Shepherd Age: 27 Club: Waldster Caps: 35 Goals: 0
16 David Blythe Age: 22 Club: Marthorpe City Caps: 22 Goals: 0

Stephen Shepherd was hopeful to play the vast majority of the qualifiers, but didn’t reach the levels expected of him at times. He had his bright spells, but in some games just seemed a bit anonymous, and wasn’t at the best technically. Shepherd has a good intellect and sense of positioning for a defender. Not a player who’ll do anything particularly flashy, but usually dependable to do the fundamentals. The more experienced of the two right backs, but also not the one playing the final few games of the qualifiers, it’ll be close to see if he starts.

At 22, some thought David Blythe was still too young and inexperienced to make a good impact internationally. In his early appearances of the qualifiers, that did seem to be the case, and he was prone to leaving the right flank vulnerable. However, towards the end, he was part of a Marthorpe City trio in defence that seemed hard to score against. A wing back at club level, he can certainly help mount an attack, and can whip a ball in. Still needs to work on some of the defensive side of his game, but has time to grow.

Left Midfielders
Image
Feld

8 Jonathan Feld Age: 26 Club: Marthorpe City Caps: 53 Goals: 5

Jonathan Feld is the only named left midfielder, with striker and left attacking midfielder David Michael expected to be the cover for this position. Feld was the bright spark early on for Flavovespia in the qualifiers, scoring where the strikers seemed unable to. He somewhat flagged through the qualifiers, but seemed to get it back together towards the end, helped by sharing the left flank with club teammate Ronald Maddox. A left-footed player with an accurate pass and shot, and is usually consistent if not the most spectacular on the pitch.

Centre Midfielders
ImageImageImageImage
Buttery, King, Richmond, Ahmed

6 Brian Buttery Age: 28 Club: Waldster Caps: 11 Goals: 0
7 James King Age: 30 Club: Stanmorn Caps: 73 Goals: 9
29 Valentine Richmond Age: 26 Club: Westwood Garden City Caps: 18 Goals: 1
31 Murad Ahmed Age: 24 Club: Langmere Green Rovers Caps: 12 Goals: 1

Brian Buttery hasn’t quite settled into the national team setup, and has drifted into a bench position. Although he was always keen to chase down players and get stuck in, his positioning and control was lacking, and was sometimes responsible for large gaps in the midfield. He’s a box-to-box midfielder with plenty of stamina, and will chase down any and every ball. If he can improve his tackling, and skills on the ball, he’s definitely got a place in the national side.

James King missed a handful of games through injury, and the struggles in the midfield for Flavovespia showed just how important he is to the side. The vice-captain’s vision and passing is second to none, and when he’s on the pitch, he can be the one to lead the build up play for Flavovespia. He’s also the dead-ball specialist, and his free kicks can certainly be a test for goalkeepers. It’s hard to envision him not being in the starting line up if he’s healthy.

Valentine Richmond was very much the breakout star of the qualifiers. A surprise call-up, he was able to displace Buttery from the starting line up, getting many caps and a goal. Sometimes he struggled to play a more defensively minded role than he’s used to at club level, but towards the end of qualifiers, had built a good chemistry with James King. A midfielder with a very dangerous long ball and long shot, and good skills on the ball. Maybe not guaranteed to be a starter, but will be hopeful to make appearances.

Murad Ahmed made some decent appearances in the qualifiers, although he was still obviously raw in some areas when it comes to international football. He could make positive contributions, but was also prone to being a step off the pace at times and causing fouls and lost possession. A strong ball-winning midfielder, his strengths are probably his strength and the pressure he puts on players in possession. Plenty of his appearances came from the bench, and that’s likely to be the case for him in the Cup of Harmony.

Right Midfielders
ImageImage
Hall, Ace

11 Steven Hall Age: 27 Club: Kings Lunsel Caps: 77 Goals: 25
22 Christopher Ace Age: 24 Club: St Astons City Caps: 12 Goals: 1

Steven Hall, captain of Flavovespia, continues to remain their top player, with plenty of goals and assists in the qualifiers. That said, the 2 wins and draw the national team achieved without him shows that Flavovespia aren’t lost without him. Hall is a tricky player for anyone to mark, willing to cut inside or outside, and able to whip in a cross or send in a curling shot to threaten the goal. Any game he plays in, he can be a threat. No doubt he’ll be a starter.

Christopher Ace is a big part of the reason Flavovespia weren’t lost without their captain Steven Hall. Playing on the wing, his pace is arguably the best in Flavovespia. Whilst he’s not quite at the same level as Steven Hall, his ability to shoot after coming from out wide can’t be ignored, and he is a tenacious winger. Unlucky in some ways to be behind a generational talent in the squad, otherwise he’d have plenty more caps.

Forwards
ImageImageImageImageImage
Daley, Coleman, Michael, Martin, Lawler

9 Terence Daley Age: 29 Club: Marthorpe City Caps: 40 Goals: 10
10 Scott Coleman Age: 24 Club: Stanmorn Caps: 59 Goals: 29
19 David Michael Age: 29 Club: Hadford Hill Caps: 27 Goals: 2
32 Ramon Martin Age: 31 Club: Langmere Green Rovers Caps: 29 Goals: 11
33 John Lawler Age: 26 Club: Waldster Caps: 9 Goals: 5

Terence Daley couldn’t match his form from the AOCAF 60 in the qualifies, and has drifted out of the starting XI. An old-school forward, he’s usually accurate and strong, as opposed to flashy dribbling and defeating defenders with skill. Dropped after the early games where Flavovespia scored few, he’s had to watch other strikers succeed where he didn’t and thus he’ll need to impress Crawford in training to make it onto the pitch at the Cup of Harmony.

Once seen as the future of Flavovespia’s attack, Scott Coleman struggled in the early stages of qualifying. He seemed out of sorts at times, missing an easy chance against Eastfield Lodge, and was benched. However, he turned it around, and has scored in the last 3 games. He can exploit poor positioning with his pace, and until recently, seemed to have added a clinical finish to his skillset. With his recent improvements, and his international experience, he’s likely in contention to be a starter.

David Michael is a fairly adaptable player, as well as being a striker he’s filled in as a left midfielder for Flavovespia. Like many players who can fit the two roles, he’s quick and pacey on the ball, posing a problem for defenders. He’ll also look to cut in from wide, something his markers must be wary of. Often seen as a “super sub” to be deployed against straggling defenders, he fitted that role at times in the qualifiers. Unlikely to displace Feld from the starting line-up though it seems.

Ramon Martin was the comeback king for Flavovespia. Returning to the national side, on his first 3 starts of the qualifiers, he scored 5. He would go on to add another 4 in the qualifiers to score an impressive 9 goals, given he didn’t start for plenty of the games. Originally known for being pacey, that’s somewhat changed now, and he’s grown into a classic veteran striker, able to use experience and smart play to beat the defenders and goalkeepers to score. He’s looking good to get more caps in the Cup of Harmony, based on his qualifying form.

Once considered a big transfer flop for Waldster, John Lawler has turned it around to not only become an impressive striker for the capital club, but for the national side. He managed 4 goals in his first 3 matches as a starter, and went from a fringe national team player to a starter. Towards the end the improved Scott Coleman displaced Lawler from the starting XI, but nevertheless, he did more than enough to get in the 23 man squad for the Cup of Harmony. A striker who doesn’t have that one magic skill, but when in good confidence, can seemingly put a huge percentage of shots on target.

Manager Richard Crawford, 47

Crawford certainly boosted his standing as national team manager in the qualifiers. Although the team wasn’t perfect, and lost some winnable games, they also took more points than expected, finished above their pot, and crucially got a win against a team considered a powerhouse. Nevertheless, with good performances comes greater expectations, and a poor Cup of Harmony 77 will put the pressure back on Crawford. Crawford favours a 4-2-2-2 formation, used almost all of the time in the qualifiers. However he will consider a 4-1-2-1-2 or a 5-2-1-2 at times.

Predicted Starting XI:
MD1: Meehan, Maddox-James-Gardner-Blythe, King(vc)-Richmond, Feld-Hall(c), Coleman-Martin
MD2: Meehan, Maddox-James-Gardner-Blythe, King(vc)-Richmond, Feld-Hall(c), Coleman-Martin

Pandemic disclaimer: As I am sure most people are aware, Omerica recently has been affected by an epidemic of Maxtopian Pox. This epidemic does not and will not extend outside Omerican borders and will not impact any international football games, nor will it form the basis of any long-term roleplay arcs on my part.

However, I will not be recognising the existence of any international pandemics. This does not mean that I will not recognise the existence of disease outbreaks in other countries (largely in the interest of not being a hypocrite), but these will be construed as a series of unrelated outbreaks that do not extend beyond the borders of nations that accept their existence. These outbreaks will not under any circumstances extend to or from the United Republics of Omerica and any attempt to introduce new disease outbreaks to Omerica will be immediately nullified by the Federal Secretariat for Defence’s “Instantaneous Godmode Neutralisation by Optimised Revision of Events” (I.G.N.O.R.E) system.

I apologise to anyone who has been affected in any way by the COVID-19 pandemic. I recognise that the Maxtopian Pox epidemic may be considered disrespectful, insulting or distasteful. If, for whatever reason, you do not wish to acknowledge its existence, I will respect your decision. I wish anyone currently afflicted with COVID-19 a speedy recovery and anyone struggling as a result of the pandemic the best. <3

A federation in the far north, Omerica is a cosmopolitan maritime nation, famed for its environmental beauty, thriving black markets and love of a good drink. Omerica is a federal parliamentary republic with a semi-direct democratic system of governance. An influential country in international affairs, the nation ranks as one of the most politically and socially free states in the multiverse. The nation is noted for having some of the most friendly, compassionate and brash people in the multiverse, who enjoy high rates of economic, scientific and cultural development. The nation is rated as one of the least corrupt and least authoritarian in the world, with low rates of ignorance, obesity, political apathy and preventable death.

About the Incorrigibles
Association code: OME
KPB ranking: 81st [projected] (9.73)
All-time record: 132–70–121 (40.9% win rate; 1.44 points per game)
Cup of Harmony record: 14–5–16 (40.0% win rate; 1.34 points per game)
Record under George Kostas: 10–7–10 (37.0% win rate; 1.37 points per game)

Just like the history of the nation, the history of Omerican football has been rocky. The nation was one of fifty-six to début in Baptism of Fire 56, where the team made the knockout stage with an undefeated record before bowing out to Lons after extra time in the last 32. The Gryphons subsequently floundered for several cycles, finishing below expectations in tournament after tournament and struggling to find their footing. But fortunes turned around during the Campionato Esportiva in the Sarian, where Omerica unexpectedly won their group and made the quarterfinals after defeating Yttribia. Despite falling to runners-up Nephara in a close match, the tournament marked a significant turn in fortunes: a bitter (and, to Osarians, infamous) third-place finish in the World Cup 73 qualifiers, two consecutive knockout stage qualifications and Round of 16 exits and—the nation’s crowning moment of glory—an upset qualification for World Cup 74, where the team scalped Flardania and nearly advanced to the knockout phase.

However, success proved short-lived. After boycotting CE XVI in Falatulu, the Omerican Football Federation found itself mired in a corruption and betting scandal. Combined with a riotous fanbase which had caused numerous bouts of destruction, the scandal dogged the team’s World Cup 75 qualifying campaign and ultimately brought the OFF to an untimely end, ordered dissolved by the Sessions Court of Mespalia and liquidated to cover the fines issued to its executives. In the aftermath of the scandal, the republican football associations, which had predated and existed parallel to the OFF, formed the United Republican Soccer Federation to take over the OFF’s functions and opted to indefinitely pull Omerica from international competition. Half a decade later, a new national team emerged to contest the Independent Associations Championship and, after much internal debate, the World Cup.

The early years of the newly-christened Incorrigibles were troubled, with celebrated manager Ryan Pritchard unable to create a solid foundation to rebuild on. Seeing his time and margin for error dwindling, he chose to throw in the towel, though his replacement’s reign turned out horrific. With the expectations of the nation lower than ever, an uncelebrated Anne-Sophie Groothuis was tasked with steadying the ship, but went above and beyond: besting the infamous Curse of Kilkenny, winning the United Republics a first major international title and coming closer than either of her predecessors to the World Cup finals. But after an underwhelming World Cup and Cup of Harmony campaign and fearing complacency ahead of the nation’s IAC title defence campaign, Groothuis chose to cut her losses and get out while she was ahead. Little did anyone know that the Incorrigibles would put up the worst title defence campaign in the IAC’s brief history…
Staff
Manager: George Kostas (age 57; b. Falconhurst, Strathavon)
Former interim manager of the Incorrigibles after Christine Salmond’s forced resignation, Kostas comes back to the national team off a relatively successful stint at his hometown club Falcon United. True to his place a striker during his time in the Omerica shirt, Kostas is known for being a traditional, attack-oriented Omerican strategist, favouring the three-person attack which propelled Omerica up the ranks in the nation’s earliest international years. With Omerica disappointing in the qualifiers and Kostas having temporarily stepped aside to focus on his mental health, he’ll need to record a decent Cup of Harmony performance or make a deep run in the next Independent Associations Championship to hold on to his job.

Kits (expertly crafted by ediraf)
Due to the clerical error which precluded Omerica’s participation in the previous World Cup, the URSF and ediraf have agreed to extend the deal originally made ahead of IAC 7 to the end of the Cup of Harmony at the earliest, fulfilling the requirement for the Incorrigibles to wear the design for at least three World Cup cycles. The Incorrgibles will display one bronze star on the right shirt sleeve to symbolise their triumph at IAC 7 in Drawkland; any theoretical future World Cup or Cup of Harmony titles would likewise be worn on the sleeve instead of the usual position above the crest.

Trigram: DEL | Nickname: Phoenixes | Style Modifier: +5

RP permissions: Yes.

It has been a long road to determine this lineup below - losses, failures, triumphs, immigration, scandal, suspensions, and new prospects - but this group of 23 firmly believes it is the best version of the Phoenixes that could be sent abroad to compete in its final matches of this World Cup cycle. As they say, better late than never.

Starting Lineup

Image
#1 GK George Ross - Catherina FC - 23, 6'4", 175 -- Tall, sturdy, and a keen observer of the game, Ross makes up for perhaps a lack of natural athleticism with smart field positioning, an ability to communicate with the field players, and quick natural instincts and decision making. Currently on a strong run of form, Ross has embraced the field general role of the team, and looks to spearhead a squad whose path to potential success demands keeping balls out of the net.

Image
#5 MF Keaton Durbridge (C) - Dí Maozöxê (FFD) - 25, 5'10", 155 -- The recently appointed captain of the team also has Phoenixes football in his blood - his grandfather is longtime midfield staple David Ward. Durbridge has become noted in his appearances with this squad for his control of the middle of the field, the ability to draw out individual possession before finding the right pass to move the attack forward, and his own infrequent yet successful attempts at the goal. In a time where this team continues to experiment with lineups and tactics, Durbridge's skills and level of play have remained a welcome constant, and his evident on-field leadership made him an obvious choice for the revamped Delaclava squad's first permanent captain.

Image
#6 DF Valentin Gusev - ASK Landsmark (SVJ) - 24, 6'3", 185 -- The larger of two twin brothers on this team, Gusev will see a new role as the sole center back in the formation - but he is no doubt up to the task. Tall and imposing, opponents find it quite difficult to penetrate through the air against Gusev, although he is wanting for speed and a bit more susceptible on the ground. Gusev likes to take risks on the counterattack, following up the action and looking to play a second or third chance. This can either make him a defensive liability or an unanticipated big playmaker. Either way, there's no shortage of excitement in watching Gusev on both ends of the field.

Image
#7 FW Dathan Ingram - Catherina FC - 20, 5'7", 140 -- One of the smallest players on the squad, Ingram is most commonly a threat penetrating the left wing. In a typical attack, Ingram will look to take it to the flag and cross. On the counterattack, Ingram will seek out the middle and can generate wonderful displays of individual skill, either taking the goal himself or dropping the ball off for a neat assist. He is not a significant aerial threat but is counted on to take many corner kicks and free kicks.

Image
#8 DF Pavel Cicak - Brookford Otters (NPH) - 25, 6'1", 170 -- The most aggressive of the defenders, Cicak is a force on the left side of the field. He is physical enough to win many balls back himself, and yet often will lead the attack with the ball instead of finding an outlet pass. He also coordinates well with Ingram and Donato Girardi to run overlap patterns, allowing Cicak to move down the sideline and more forces to come through the middle. Cicak is also the most athletic and speedy on the backline - on the whole team, in fact - and therefore most able to recover when the Delaclav offense breaks down. He has gained a lot of confidence in his brief tenure in the Nepharim Domestic League and has invaluable practice and game experience to lend to a team that is rather lacking in that area.

Image
#10 MF Donato Girardi - Chenoworth Harriers (NPH) - 22, 5'9", 145 -- Girardi is easily the most skilled with the ball on this squad, and is a great asset in the midfielder, individually penetrating the defense and exploring his options. Girardi is in a new tactical role as left midfielder, to accommodate a lineup that included all the best players, but he looks to play off his midfielders as well as the left back and wing, Cicak and Ingram. Girardi is a naturally creative offensive force who makes up for a relative lack of defensive physicality by serving as an effective "quarterback" for the Phoenixes' high-octane offense.

Image
#11 FW Lukas Meyer - Savojars Vinge Virkaja (SVJ) - 19, 6'2", 165 -- The best natural goalscorer of the squad, Meyer does not have the speed or size to capitalize on many breakaway chances, but in offensive sets and possessions, there is no one more reliable or adept in the 18-yard box. Meyer has a knack for finding the right shot or leading pass within that range, and seems likely to have the best chance at cracking the world's stiffest defenses.

Image
#12 DF Kelly Joseph - Steckholl United - 27, 6'3", 185 -- Tall and quick, Joseph is a frequent threat down the side of the field, and also takes calculated risks to win the ball in the midfield and push the pace forward. Unlike his left-side counterpart Cicak, Joseph also blends effective positioning on the defensive side of the field, and would rather force a turnover from a man in front of him than chasing down a breakaway wing.

#19 ST Artem Kohut - Catherina FC - 19, 5'10", 165 -- The latest young star, Kohut was called up by interim manager Johannes Detmer and made an immediate impression, notching a goal and an assist in each of his first three games. He possesses quickness, finesse, and combines a nose for the goal with an unselfish chemistry and a deft passing touch. Simply, Kohut puts goals on the board, whether it's his name or someone else's.

Image
#21 MF Rhydian Campbell - New Capetown Falcons (TAE) - 18, 6'2", 175 -- A fast rising prospect and the first player on the team to sign internationally, Campbell was simply too good to leave out of the starting lineup - so much so that former manager Tim Landers opted to re-design the squad's formation to fit him. A natural attacking midfielder with a strong physical presence and a nose for the goal, Campbell is noted for his ability to draw defenders into the middle of the field, re-distribute the ball to the wing for outside attacks, and make runs at the net himself to produce scoring. The Taeshan Premier League All-Star also brings added experience from his action in a prestigious league. Campbell promises to be a fixture of this squad for years to come, and looks to get off to a good start in World Cup 85.

#23 RM Rubèn Albert - Manchester - 21, 6'0", 170 -- Another late replacement in World Cup qualifying, Albert was strong enough in his first four games - all starts - that he was retained in the starting role. Albert is a physical, gritty defensive-type midfielder with an understated cleverness in tackling and an impressive gas tank for one of the larger players in the midfield. He doubles as a reliable fourth back in closing out games, and while he is the least likely of the midfielders to generate attacking chances, disregard him at your own peril.

(C) = Captain, (V) = Vice Captain, (3) = 3rd Captain

Roles:
Corner Kicks: Ingram
Set Pieces: Durbridge if there is a direct shot opportunity, Girardi for longer distance/placement, Ingram for closer range if looking for a header/volley in the box
Penalties: Pick the first player still remaining in the game - Durbridge, Meyer, Ingram, Kohut.

Tactics:

Offensive-minded 3-5-2, particularly utilizing the individual skill in the middle and up front. A bias towards action and chance instead of possession, and an inclination towards taking defensive risks to generate counterattack opportunities.

There is an expectation that the midfielders will be fully active on both ends of the field, employing manpower to have advantages in both the offensive and defense zones rather than relying on positioning. Detmer will frequently make substitutions at midfield, even as early as the start of the second half, to give both the starters and substitutes an opportunity to work at a higher rate for a shorter period of time. (If you RP first, Durbridge and Girardi are the two midfielders who are most likely to last for the entire game.)

Fans
Poafmersian fans are crazy about football, and their loud cheers ring about in the stadiums they visit. They are very willing to disturb the peace in the area to celebrate their win after matches, so matches are best held in the afternoon or early evenings. Apart from that, they do pick up after themselves, and prevent causing much trouble apart from celebrating. You can be assured, however, that they would be traveling around to support their team, so do reserve half the spots in stadiums for them because they would pack it to the brim.

Savojar Roster for Cup of Harmony 77

TEAM

STAFF

Coach: Mikaela Rangren
Age: 47 // Coach since: Copa Rushmori 34
Mikaela Rangren has been working as an assistant coach to Lise Asbeck in the legendary World Cup 81 run, and has served two more national managers in the NT. Now she has taken over the reigns for an attempt at salvaging the Savojar NT ship from its bumbling course. She has been given a contract until the end of WC 85, and her appointment represents a turn away from intricate tactics and towards more Savojar virtues. She will probably look for a more direct approach to the game, relying on Savojarna’s physical culture and passionate, fighting spirit. Rangren has shown a particular strength in keeping the team together, and it seemed like her continued presence as a mediator may have helped to get the team back on track quickly after the split surrounding Jurtanen in the World Cup 84 qualification. Her Copa campaign has seen her highly successful at integrating new talent, advancing to the finals and losing to Eura only very narrowly.

Coaching Team: Johan Andreassen, Alexey Jotanov, Asgeir Rundberg
Ages: 45, 48, 65 // Special functions: Main assistant, Video coach, Physical trainer
Andreassen is an old friend of Rangren who has gone through coaching education together with her. He now supports her as an all-round assistant, although he will probably focus more on leading the team on the pitch rather than supporting tactics and preparation.
Jotanov is a rather creative tactical mind and one half of the U-21 co-coaching team. He has been brought on board as part of the WC90 project to create a more unified approach across the three Savojar national teams (adult, U21, U18). He will be here mainly to support Rangren off the pitch with video trainings and tactics briefing.
Rundberg got introduced after criticisms that the team had not been sufficiently prepared for the long WCQ campaign. As physical and conditioning trainer, he has a reputation of a tough and demanding man, although he works closely with the medical team to ensure Savojarna's players are well prepared for their games.

Goalkeeper Coach: Valtteri Andersson
Age: 48
Andersson was a long-term goalkeeper for Energie Thorsborg and got directly transferred into the club's youth department when he retired at age 33. Following some good work with the club's youth department, he got trained as a GK coach and worked with the first team and the U21 of Energie for a while before being brought onto the squad of the NT early on. He still works with Energie on the side and is reputed to be very good at developing a goalkeeper's weaknesses.

Doctor: Dr. Christer Ljungberg
Age: 54
Christer is the head of the medical team of the Savojar NT and generally has a reputation of being the team’s good soul. Many players have come to him over the years to discuss their insecurities or physical problems, to the point that many consider Ljungberg to essentially be a second mental coach.

CORE TEAM

#1 Iiro Pakanen
Position: GK // Age: 26 // Height: 194 cm // Club: Jinja City FC (BNJ)
Pakanen has moved abroad after being a bit overlooked in Savojarna, and he quickly grabbed a strong hold of the lead goalie position at Jinja City FC. He is a pretty strong goalkeeper with good reflexes on the line and a very calm behaviour, helped by his experience on the international stage with Jinja City. Now, he’s being brought back to the homeland in the national team, expected to take up the legacy of recently retired legend Viktorija Petrova.

#2 Flemming Skov
Position: RB // Age: 25 // Height: 185 cm // Club: Admiral Storevik
Part of the legendary DBC 45 squad, Skov’s career has stalled a little as he was locked behind a strong Lucas Bengtsson, but he has managed to fight back for his position and got rewarded by a starting position at champions Admiral, who have gone on a transfer offensive. He is an aggressive fullback who will provide offensive pressure, and known for both speed and stamina. Will likely come off the bench if Savojarna are behind.

#3 Trent Ullqvist
Position: CB // Age: 26 // Height: 184 cm // Club: Lokomotive Jarnstad
Ullqvist has collected some caps at the youth level, joining the DBC in the class of Krister Voynov. However, he hasn’t made the big show thus far, primarily due to a lack of outstanding strengths. By the side of former national team defender Denis Metanov, and now with Nephar Roy Coyner, he has shown at his club that he can be a versatile defender, winning balls with physical strength as well as with positioning. On the ball, he lacks the creativity of a Zirkova or a Kjaer, but is technically adept enough to play short passes to a wingback or a central midfielder, who can then construct play.

#4 Joonas Andersson
Position: DM // Age: 34 // Height: 187 cm // Club: Admiral Storevik
Andersson is the defensive anchor point of the Savojar midfield, and has shown a splendid championship season with Admiral. He is not very fast, but has excellent judgment and tackling skills, making him the pivot of the defence. He will often drop back between the two CB's if Savojarna have the ball and secure the defence to allow the wingbacks to overlap. Also regularly drops back against wide teams, as he is taller than most CB's in the roster and can help with aerial defence.

#5 Matts Pedersen
Position: LB // Age: 24 // Height: 187 cm // Club: Tanrısal (PAS)
Pedersen is another fast, aggressive fullback who is extremely persistent, but joins the offence aggressively. This leads to him being vulnerable to counters over the left side, where he might not be able to react in time if he was too advanced before. He has excellent 1v1 skills on both sides of the ball, but is a bit lacking in passing accuracy. His past issues with decision-making are now considered largely overcome thanks to his high-level experience in Pasarga, and he is considered a mental leader in the team.

#6 Paddi Gren
Position: CM // Age: 24 // Height: 177 cm // Club: CASK Thorsborg
A more offensive option despite his odd number for the position (which he inherited from Hoyberg), Paddi Gren makes his first appearance on the international stage after two good SFS seasons. Gren is a midfielder that can be used in a variety of positions, with good dribbling skills and a special taste for dangerous free kicks. Although he plays in a playmaker position for CASK, his strength lies more in winning and carrying the ball, making him more of a natural shuttler who excels in a flat midfield four, or when supported by creative wingers like at his domestic CASK.

#7 Mikhail Jashkin
Position: RF // Age: 24 // Height: 176 cm // Club: Farrenton Athletic (EUR)
A fast and technically gifted hybrid winger who is known for a deadly eye and his laser-like passes. While he has decent crossing skills, he tends to opt for a flat pass into the box or a dribbling instead, acting almost as a false nine that plays wide on the right. He is one of the most observed players on the team, and his move to Eura has greatly helped him to develop further into the dominating forward he is today.

#8 Victoria Maersk [C]
Position: CM // Age: 30 // Height: 157 cm // Club: Vermillion Rage (NPH)
Maersk is a classical box-to-box allrounder who is strong in most tasks, besides her aerial inferiority due to height, and has a high stamina and speed. While not excelling at anything, she is considered a utility player that will probably see a lot of playtime in various positions and roles depending on the situation. Moved to North Sabrefell in a state of insecurity, and has grown into a central force at her club, despite their recent relegation.

#9 Arvid Jotansson
Position: ST // Age: 27 // Height: 192 cm // Club: Admiral Storevik
Jotansson can assume a more forward role or something akin to a false nine, but is more at home in the box. He is a tall, physical striker who is not particularly fast, but very hard to separate from the ball and has a strong shot as well as a good eye for his teammates. Used to be a trusty substitute, but with Voynov gone at his club and Sigurdsdottir in a slump at the NT, he is becoming a viable starter after a strong season at Admiral.

#10 Morten Poulsen
Position: OM // Age: 24 // Height: 180 cm // Club: Partisan Sjoedrhavn
Poulsen grew from shaky prospect to bona-fide playmaker at Parti, and has enjoyed the love of their fans for a while now. He was also a part of the legendary DBC 45 team, although primarily as a substitute. He is a creative player that has a large stamina and a good shot, but defensively lacks caution sometimes. Plays in a very similar system at Partisan, which should make his inclusion in the team not too hard.

#11 Simon Jacobsen
Position: ST // Age: 23 // Height: 177 cm // Club: Alnio (CMT)
The Savojarised namesake of Starblaydi legend Simeone di Bradini has played in two DBCs, and has now rejoined the national team thanks to the bad shape of Sigurdsdottir. He is a fast striker using his positioning and speed as a key weapon, working best in conjunction with another, more physical striker who can open gaps for him. Defensively, he runs a lot and has good pressing skills, but sometimes lacks in ball-winning ability.

#12 Thomas Larsen
Position: GK // Age: 30 // Height: 195 cm // Club: CASK Thorsborg
Considered almost equal to Petrova and one of the best goalies of Savojarna, but stood in her shadow due to Petrova's NT pedigree and is now edged out by Pakanen after the latter’s success in Banija. Larsen is quite athletic and assumes control of his box. Especially at standards and in crossing situations, he likes to use his height to pluck the ball out of the sky, but he is a bit slow on the line. Has a very good read of strikers.

#13 Polina Zirkova
Position: CB // Age: 23 // Height: 182 cm // Club: CASK Sjoedrhavn
Zirkova is a pretty exciting defensive player and considered one of the most exciting young players in Savojarna right now. She is defensively solid, although not impassable. Her excitement comes from the abilities in building up the game. Zirkova often moves up to assist the midfielders, or plays long balls from the back to one of the wingers hanging back or even all the way to the playmaker. She also is confident on the ball herself, occasionally dazzling the audience with a good dribble. However, sometimes her judgement is lacking and she commits mistakes unnecessarily.

#14 Rika Lundell
Position: OM // Age: 22 // Height: 167 cm // Club: Rotor Värstjö
Having emerged more or less out of nowhere, Rika Lundell has become one of the stars of the current SFS season and is considered part of the miraculous rise of Rotor Värstjö. Lundell is an extremely agile player with dazzling technique, and a good eye for openings and passing lanes. Her defensive capabilities, as well as her chance at withstanding physical opposition, are a bit lacklustre, but like her predecessor Lenka Otalainen, she often finds ways to compensate by thinking ahead and using her speed to her advantage.

#15 Steinar Aarsoy
Position: LM // Age: 25 // Height: 179 cm // Club: Partisan Sjoedrhavn
Steinar Aarsoy played a second convincing season in a row with Partisan, and cot the call over an aging Ville Mertonen in consequence. He is a more traditional winger than the likes of Voynov, but has a good eye and is very fast. He also often passes back to the edge of the box or into the midfield if there is open space, and isn’t shy of working backwards if required.

#16 Markus Mellin
Position: RF // Age: 29 // Height: 187 cm // Club: North Hall (BRE)
Mellin is a hybrid winger, aiming for the goal more than for the cross, and can also be used in a striker position. He is a physical player, with a strong body and breaking through the lines. He also likes using his height to position himself at the far post, aiming for any spare balls. After a breakout season at Torpedo, he was transferred to Brenecia, where he has fit right in and managed a decent season, earning himself another call-up.

#17 Bjarne Thorvaldsson
Position: LB // Age: 27 // Height: 180 cm // Club: Partisan Sjoedrhavn
Thorvaldsson is a physically strong and defensively minded player with relatively high likelihood of fouls. Hard to pass, but also rarely moving forward, he is somewhat of a polar opposite to Pedersen, and looks like he comes straight out of mediaeval Savojarna with a tall, hulking presence and a wild beard. When he has the ball, chances are he tries to get rid of it as fast as possible, even if it means smacking it into the stands.

#18 Sergey Nweke
Position: ST // Age: 21 // Height: 184 cm // Club: CASK Thorsborg
Half-Banijan striker Sergey Nweke has played his youth football in Savojarna, but was increasingly linked with Banija’s national team recently. The call-up to the Cup of Harmony may be done with the idea of locking him into the Savojar shirt, but Nweke has the experience of multiple SFS seasons under the belt now and probably can earn at least a joker spot on the national team in his own right. He is a solid, physically strong and quick player with good finishing capabilities and a nose for dangerous openings.

#19 Krister Voynov
Position: LF // Age: 26 // Height: 177 cm // Club: Raynor City United (VAL)
Potentially the most exciting single player in the Savojar team, this fast and skilful winger is a constant threat. Voynov loves to swing inside to challenge an opposing defender directly and is extremely good in 1v1 situations. He also scores many goals with a strong and precise shot, and has accurate passing skills as well. His main weakness is a lack of defensive work, forcing the left side to cover for his roaming.

#20 Linne Kjaer
Position: CB // Age: 29 // Height: 182 cm // Club: Dynamo Sjoedrhavn
Similar to Omark, she is technically and positionally strong and knows what to do on the ball. Kjaer is somewhat slow but makes up for this mistake by knowing very well where to stand, and has a great skill in standing duels for the ball. Her tackles can be a bit shaky at times and may lead to mistakes or fouls, which is why she rarely resorts to them. Kjaer is also important as the organiser of the defence.

#21 Alexey Nurkanen
Position: RB // Age: 29 // Height: 180 cm // Club: Libertas Bergheim
Nurkanen is very fast and a precise tackler, as well as having good judgment in building up plays. He often overlaps dangerously as well, having a great cross that can find the head of his teammates in the box. Nurkanen's stamina is lauded for often running up and down the line all day long, but he can sometimes be a bit out of the water when challenged in a fast counter due to his overlaps.

#22 Aleksandra Virulainen
Position: GK // Age: 22 // Height: 181 cm // Club: Partisan Sjoedrhavn
Virulainen uses a great awareness and control of the box to counter-act her comparatively lower height and has shown brilliant oversight. She is among the best goalkeepers in Savojarna, and by far the best of her age, when it comes to ball-on-foot skills, and many see her as Petrova's eventual successor in the national team. Has made an appearance as starting goalie in DBC 47 and was a part of the most recent World Cup campaign, although she still awaits her first elite NT match. May get the call given her recent promotion to starting keeper at Partisan.

#23 Roman Forsberg
Position: CB // Age: 26 // Height: 188 cm // Club: Olympia Borograd (STL)
Forsberg is another one of the Savojar ball-secure, modern CB's, but shows some nerves at times. He has greatly profited from taking on a more important role in his club and has cut down on his mistakes, but is still prone to occasional over-aggressive positioning or similar faults. His best skill is his heading, as he is a very strong jumper and tall player. He will often join the attack on standards.

Brief Overview of Port Ember

The Republic of Port Ember is a nation comprising of a tropical archipelago within the Northern Ocean and is considered as a regional superpower and international economic giant. The tropical nation is governed as a constitutional democracy in the form of a Republic. The nation considers itself as a champion for personal liberty and economic freedom, and is seen as one of the most free and wealthiest nations in the world. The two billion citizens are considered to be world wise and innovative, considering the art of world trade & travel, making money and engaging in bar brawls as the foundation of their national culture. The nation also possesses two colonies - Braziliztan and Port Arthur which they gained during bloody wars to uphold international freedom and human rights.

Brief History of Football in Port Ember

Prior to World Cup 83 Port Ember had a very limited football culture and infrastructure, with interest and development on par with international amateur leagues. The sport slowly gained interest within the Republic due to the widespread media coverage the sport received and slowly but surely the masses started calling for port Ember to enter the international football scene. The people's voices were heard and the Port Ember Football Association (PEFA) received a massive financial injection with which to kick start the road to enter the international scene. PEFA established the "Port Emberian Youth Football Project", which saw a large group of 14-year old children chosen to become the future of Port Emberian football - training together and being developed into future stars. Four years later the team was finally ready to storm the world - and they did so by participating in the Baptism of Fire 70 tournament. Although they failed to win the tournament as hoped, they won Bronze for finishing in third place. Although only achieving third place, this tournament was a massive victory for PEFA since it managed to awake a sleeping giant- the entire nation rallied behind the national team and the team turned into national hero's and idols overnight. Modern, state of the art stadiums jumped up across the nation, quickly filled by passionate fans supporting newly formed domestic clubs. Children and adults alike took to the streets and local stadiums to kick ball - creating a massive pool of new potential players on a scale never seen before in any sport in Port Emberian history. Next, the inexperienced but passionate Dragons entered the qualification campaign for World Cup 83, meeting true professional giants in the footballing world. Although failing to qualify for the World Cup proper, the team managed to make a massive wave on the international stage - showing the world that they had the capability to cause upset after upset, relying on pure passion, fitness and youth despite their inexperience. Their strong showing in the qualifier campaign earned them an invitation to the esteemed Cup of Harmony 75 tournament. Once again the young team was seen as complete underdogs against the giants of the tournament. Again the young Port Emberian squad managed to cause spectacular upsets, finally being knocked out in the Quarterfinals of the Cup. Returning home, the new hero's joined the newly formed domestic league and lay the foundation of a modern and professional football league and infrastructure. The Qualification campaign for World Cup 84 commenced, with the Dragons once again being considered underdogs in the face of very strong and established teams. After a rocky start the team shocked the world as they took their group by storm, winning 10 consequently matches, qualifying for the World Cup proper by grabbing the runner up spot in their group - becoming one of few teams who could manage to qualify for the grandest stage of them all on only their second attempt. The lowest ranked side of the tournament celebrated a bit too soon as they were torn back to humility in the World Cup, losing all their World Cup games, failing to enter the Knockout Stages. The team continued to build and hone their technical skills whilst retaining their passion and fitness in an attempt to prove that they were not lucky - they were here to stay. They managed to prove to the world and themselves that they belonged on the international stage during the Independent Association Cup 9, grabbing Bronze in the end. The peak of the Port Emberian 'Golden Era' seemed to have come to a grizzly end after the constant morbid events which took place during the World Cup 85 Qualification Season. Firstly, fame and success finally caught up with the young orphans of the squad, leading the squad to overindulge in extreme parties, with an emphasis placed on the consumption of alcohol, recreational rugs - and the attention from the fairer sex. This led to constant arguments and brawls between the team members, both in public, during practice sessions - and even on the pitch during matches. This period of unrest quickly reached boiling point as one player, Frazer Murray brutally murdered the team's captain and star player, Ray Reddington in a local coffee shop. Frazer pleaded guilty to the murder charges, and was executed by lethal injection one day before the last match day of the Qualification Season. The man who established and led the team from the very start - the Head Coach & Manager, Stuart Baxter, resigned with immediate effect when Reddington was murdered. The national hero was found dead by suicide a few days before the end of the last season. This very same emotionally broken team now reluctantly enters the 77th rendition of the Cup of Harmony, in hopes that they can restore the name of the 'Dark Horse Underdogs' - and perhaps regain some faith within the world which has so crushed them.

Staff

Team Manager: Kevin Block.
Coach Kevin Block, nicknamed "Major", is a very interesting choice as the nation's Team Manager & Head Coach - since before accepting the position about midway through the World Cup 85 Qualification Season he held zero experience in coaching or running a professional team. Kevin is a retired soldier - a Special Forces Operator to be precise, and he retired with the rank of Major (Thus the nickname). Although his lack of experience, no one can deny that the Major brought something unique to the team - since the team managed to achieve a seven game win streak under his charge. Sources within the squad has indicate that altough he does not know much about the sport, he has a weird way of uniting, motivating and disciplining the team. And after the period of ill discipline, conflict and depression, it might just be what the team needs at this moment, no matter how unorthodox this situation is.

Assistant Head Coach: Connor Davies.
Connor Davies worked as the assistant head coach for Braziliztan for four years under Coach Stuart Baxter before moving over to the Port Ember Youth Program alongside Stuart Baxter. He is a very technical coach, regarding the sport as a science instead of a sport. During the World Cup 85 Qualification Cycle, the resignation and death of his lifetime friend Stuart Baxter has rocked the man emotionally and is even more aloof and introverted than before. Due to the new Head Manager's lack of any professional coaching experience, the job of preparing the players regarding their football skills have fallen to Connor. It is also rumored that Connor will resign from PEFA on the conclusion of this tournament.

Attacking Coach: George SinClaire.
George was the previous Head Coach of the Port Emberian club 'Gold Coast Raiders', (prior to the World Cup 83 Cycle), before joining the youth program in 2014. Many sports publications have praised his technical knowledge as a attacking coach, and is well known for his passion and short temper, on and off the training field, regularly landing him in trouble with the law.

Defensive Coach: Daryl House.
House was the previous Head Coach of the Port Emberian club 'Waterstad Pirates', (prior to PE turning international), before joining the youth program in 2014. Before the commencement of the World Cup 83 Cycle, many sports publications praised his technical knowledge as a defensive coach, and many believed he was in line to become the next possible future head coach, due to his keen eye and attention to detail. However as Port Ember's defense has been criticized as being the weak-link of the team. In fact many has openly questioned why he was not replaced for the upcoming Cup.

Goalkeeping Coach: Jonathan Peters
was the previous Head Goalkeeper (player) of the Port Emberian club 'Gold Coast Raiders', before joining the youth program in 2014. Many sports publications have praised his newly found talent as a coach instead of a player, allowing his students to gain valuable skills. He has received much acclaim due to the great performance that the team's goalkeepers have displayed in the World Cup 83, 84 & 85 Cycles.

Fitness Coach: Neil Strauss.
Neil Strauss was a former Mixed Martial Arts Sensei who have trained a dozen champions before joining the youth program in 2014. Many sports publications have praised his vast knowledge regarding human physiology, which he uses to optimize the fitness levels of his players, to almost miracle like levels. The Port Emberian side was clearly one of the fittest teams in the World Cup 83, 84 & 85 cycles, and Neil has received much acclaim for it. He is the 'Most wanted for an interview' in the fitness media at the moment.

Team Doctor: Dr Toby Curtiss.
Doctor Curtiss is a qualified medical doctor who specializes in sports injuries. He has vast medical experience, which he gained as a trauma surgeon during his service with the Port Emberian Special Forces. He is well known as a brilliant doctor and as a 'no nonsense hard-ass' when it comes to his work.

Massage Therapist: Jessica Day.
Jessica is brand new to the team, PEFA forced to replace Sally Jones when she resigned immediately following the murder of Ray Redington by Frazer Murray. The appointment of Jessica Day has been a suprise appointment to most as she has only 1 year professional experience. It remains to see what effect she will have on the team's overall performance.

Physiotherapist: Dr Jolene Michels.
Dr Michels is an experienced Physiotherapist known to be extremely caring of the players in the teams, sometimes described as a 'real life empath'. She owned her own practice before joining the youth program at its inception. She worked hard during the World Cup 83, 84 & 85 Cycles to ensure her players did not succumb from minor injuries, and kept them fit and healthy.

Starting XI

Backline

Goalkeeper (GK)(#1): Peter Smith.
Age: 22|| Height: 1.8m || Weight: 98kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 00 ||
Lovingly nicknamed The ONLY Keeper, or "Iron Man", Peter Smith is a metaphorical machine between the sticks. He has tiger like reflexes and nerves of steel. He has managed to block shots before which can be considered "unstoppable". This player is considered a "Star Player."

Center Back (CB)(#2): Josh Richards.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.82m || Weight: 102kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 01 ||
Josh is a very fit and strong young man who is known for playing a physical game, normally resorting to aggressive play when his lackluster technical skills fails him. Many fans and critics alike was surprised at his inclusion into this round after constant poor performances in the previous cycles - as the Port Emberian defense as a whole have been criticized since the inception of the team.

Center Back (CB)(#3): Jason Lee.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.78m || Weight: 94kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 01 ||
Honestly speaking, the only player in the back line who actually deserves to be here, as this young lad has displayed both professional technical skills and chief-like organizing skills when rallying for defense. He has proven time and again that he can keep his fast and full pace going for the full 90 minutes. Furthermore his keen eye and agility makes him a utility player, as he is just as comfortable in the midfield when needed. Nicknamed the "Prince of Defense", he is classified as a "Star Player" and has earned several Man of the Match awards as proof.

Full Back (LB)(#4): Alex Kuhn.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.83m || Weight: 104kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 01 ||
Alex is one of the largest and strongest players on the team, and with his amazing pace and stamina he can become a real problem for the opposing attackers. He does lack the technical skills one might expect from an international player, but his aggression and hard hitting tackles makes up for that (even though it regularly costs his team free kicks and penalties).

Full Back (RB)(#5): Russel Pierce.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.84m || Weight: 102kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 01 ||
Russel is what can be considered a "typical Port Emberian Defender" - being a large, strong and fit player with not much technical skill, using his strength and agility to overpower his opponents.

Midfield

Attacking Midfield (AM)(#18): William Carvello.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.8m || Weight: 95kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 09 ||
A solid midfielder in the making. He still has lots of skills to learn and experience to gain, but is showing excellent promise at his age. He took over this position from the former star and Captain Ray Reddington after his murder. Despite this turbulent and difficult period, he has managed to to bring an amazing attacking play style to the team. Interesting to note is that William refuses to play with the #10 jersey in respect to the late Ray Reddington.

Defensive Midfield (DM)(#6): Steven Packard.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.75m || Weight: 97kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 02 ||
Despite being slightly smaller, Packard is a strong and fast player, excelling well in the midfield. He is good at pressuring his opponents, competent at stealing the ball, and has a good eye to open gaps for his strikers. He has become well known for his physical take-downs in both the last three World Cup Cycles.

Wide Midfield (LM)(#8): Jason Chamberlain.
Age: 21 || Height: 1.76m || Weight: 96kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 03 ||
Although Jason lacks the raw talent when compared to his team mates, he is a hard worker and have slowly but surely developed solid technical skills. He might never become a "Star Player" - but his constant solid performance during matches makes him a valuable asset to the team.

Wide Midfield (RM)(#11): Eric Tosaír of the Tribe of Waterford
Age: 21 || Height: 1.78m || Weight: 94kg || Caps: 54|| Goals: 10 ||
This player is a newcomer to the National Team, as he did not form part of the Youth Program, or partook in the World Cup 83 Cycle, but he did perform absolutely brilliantly in the World Cup 84 & 85 Cycles. He was chosen to replace Steve Rogers in this position due to Steve's knee injury obtained during the Premier League just before World Cup 84, and his performances have managed to ensure him replacing Steven for good. This young talent managed to make a good name for himself during the Premier League and last World Cup and quickly became a fan favorite. He has proven to be a strong and fast player, excelling well in the midfield. He is good at pressuring his opponents, competent at stealing the ball, and has a good eye to open gaps for his strikers. He has displayed great bursts of speed and agility which can easily catch his opponents off guard. Interesting to note is that he is a Half Selkie (Selkie Father, Port Emberian Mother), but born in Port Ember. This has made him a bit of an outsider and not a very social person. His great skills and talent compensates well for this however.

Strikers

Central Forward (CF)(#7): Leon Moult.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.73m || Weight: 91kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 50 ||
Leon is a fantastic striker and the rise of Port Emberian football owes him a great deal of gratitude for the effort and spectacular goals he scored. Leon is a fast and energetic player with excellent dribbling skills. He normally plays only one half of the game due to his intensity when on the field. He plays his heart out when given the ball and is a very clinical striker when a scoring opportunity arises. He has earned the reputation of stealing goals at the last minute, snatching victory for his team.

Central Forward (CF)(#9): Danny Nicovic.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.73m || Weight: 90kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 90 ||
Danny is by far the most iconic player in the team and has been called a national hero by more than one media house. He is seen as an absolute world class striker and an absolute fan favorite, having earned the nickname "Golden Child" - which the energetic fans always chant loudly during matches. He always plays his heart out when given the ball and is a very clinical striker when a scoring opportunity arises. He is considered a "Star Player" with a ton of Man of the Match awards and bags of goals to prove it.

Reserve Squad

Backline

Goalkeeper (GK)(#12): Jack Allwick.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.8m || Weight: 96kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 00 ||
Jack is a solid keeper - talented enough to be considered a professional, yet without the adequate play time under his belt to be considered a "great keeper" and is very much a wild card, thus would probably not find himself starting a match any time soon.

Goalkeeper (GK)(#13): Trevor Carson.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.82m || Weight: 100kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 00 ||
Trevor has had a a decent season during the last Port Emberian Premier League, yet his situation is much in line with that of Jack Allwick, and lacks the required exposure to full time International game time.

Center Back (CB)(#14): Bruno Martins.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.83m || Weight: 104kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 00 ||
A solid defender with promising talent who needs a bit more experience on the international level, but is able to hold the back-line well enough during late games to replenish the defensive effort.

Center Back (CB)(#15): Victor White.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.81m || Weight: 99kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 00 ||
Victor might not be ready to start a match yet, but has proven to be a very effective impact player during the late game phases.

Full Back (LB)(#16): Theo Hermandez.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.83m || Weight: 104kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 00 ||
A very big and strong young lad, he is an excellent impact player. However he is a bit of a wild card due to his tendency for rough play, quickly picking up yellow cards.

Full Back (RB)(#17): George Lindsey.
Age: 21 || Height: 1.79m || Weight: 97kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 00 ||
A solid defender in the making. He still has lots of skills to learn and experience to gain, but is showing excellent promise at his ripe young age.

Midfield

Attacking Midfield (AM)(#18): Royston Cross
Age: 18 || Height: 1.79m || Weight: 92kg || Caps: 0 || Goals: 00 ||
This Cup is the first time this player is brought onto the national squad, after William Carvello was moved to the Starting XI after the previous #10's murder. Royston plays for the Lilly Black Kings FC and seems to have buckets filled with talent at his disposal.

Defensive Midfield (DM)(#19): Liam Grimshaw.
Age: 22 || Height: 1.75m || Weight: 91kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 00 ||
Liam is a talented yet inexperienced midfielder who might see some late game action to rejuvenate the midfield during tough games.

Wide Midfield (LM)(#20): Kennedy Evanson
Age: 18 || Height: 1.77m || Weight: 88kg || Caps: 0 || Goals: 00 ||
This Cup is the first time this player is brought onto the national squad, after Frazer Murray was executed after murdering Ray Reddington. Evanson plays for the Blacklake FC and seems to have buckets filled with talent at his disposal.

Wide Midfield (RM)(#21): John Swift.
Age: 21 || Height: 1.78m || Weight: 88kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 06 ||
Another solid and talented impact player who has made his mark on a number of occasions.

Strikers

Central Forward (CF)(#22): Ryan Bowman.
Age: 21 || Height: 1.74m || Weight: 92kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 12 ||
Ryan is a very talented striker who possesses great pace and excellent dribbling skills. He normally plays only one half of the game due to his intensity when on the field. Perhaps a possible starter in the future.

Central Forward (CF)(#23): Jason Status.
Age: 21 || Height: 1.69m || Weight: 89kg || Caps: 82|| Goals: 07 ||
Talented and energetic, still needs to improve on his technical skills if he wishes to become a starter. Has scored some marvelous goals in the past however.

* (This is International Caps and does not include Domestic Games)

Special Roles

Captain: #18 William Carvello.
Penalty Kicker: #9 Danny Nicovic
Free Kick Taker: #9 Danny Nicovic
Left Corner Kicker: #8 Jason Chamberlain
Right Corner Kicker: #11 Eric Tosaír of the Tribe of Waterford

Star Talent

#1 Peter Smith (Goalkeeper)
#3 Jason Lee (Defence)
#9 Danny Nicovic (Striker)

Team Tactics

The team has quite an unique play-style, reflecting much on the genetics of the average Port Emberian. They prefer a fast, aggressive and hard game, playing to their benefits of being a athletic and powerful race. Their 'Signature Play' is an interesting one, which can almost be seen as a gamble. A possibly effective gamble however. They would bait the opposition to push far ahead to their goal area hard, to lure most opponent players into their half of the field. Thereafter the strong and aggressive defense would steal the possession from the opponents, and powerfully kick the ball deep to the other side of the field, where the Port Emberian strikers would use their athleticism to chase down the ball in a counter attack, outrunning the majority of the opponents, and pushing hard until a goal is scored. It is due to this play-style that the local sports-wires have dubbed it a "Aggressive Counter Attack Style".

Electrum National Football Team
presented by Electrum Football

General Information
The sentient creatures from the country of Electrum previously took part in a sporting endeavour called football, where the objective is to use feet (the bottom two limbs, no other limbs may be used by the players, except for a position called the goalkeeper who can use their entire body) to move the ball into the opposing team's netted zone, scoring one goal. The most goals wins the match. The creatures last participated in this form of competition in a tournament called "World Cup 80," before the catastrophe that required The Computator's intervention. The sentient creatures are highly susceptible to tribalism, and participation would boost morale amongst the creatures. The creatures have won one iteration of this tournament - "World Cup 78." We have procured (imported) overseas creatures from Electrum who were not in the country during the incident, who do not suffer from the effects of the time warp, to lead the tribe. We have also proceeded to appoint the chief strategist and managerial staff without a procurement process in order to maintain continuity and preserve experience. Finally, we have embedded some of our own, from other worlds, to assist the fledgling team. They are not expected to make great success. The team performed satisfactorily in "World Cup 85" and have been tossed a second chance at the "Cup of Harmony 77."

Statistical Information

Combined Record: 128-43-79
Current Rankings: Unranked
Best World Cup record: Champion (WC78)
Last appearance: World Cup 80 (now, 85)

Coaching Staff
Manager: Lboaisa Akarelm
Assistant Manager: Jemima Bryant
Development Manage: Risa Shigaraki

We have continued to procure the services of strategist and also sentient creature Lboaisa Akarelm. Akarelm is a former native of the nation of Vilita, and who is noted for their remarkable unremarkableness. Akarelm was chosen for a one cycle contract, but the contract was not fulfilled properly by the predecessor team. Given The Computator respects the rule of law, we have decided to not execute the termination clause of the contract due to their inability to manage the tribe during World Cup 80. We will now give them another one cycle contract opportunity to prove their worth. Jemima Bryant is noted for her use of technology in decision making and could prove useful in other capacities for The Computator.

Formation: 4-3-1-2
Long Form Name: The Confederacy of Squornshelan Remnant States
Short Form Names: Squornshelan Confederacy, The Confederacy
If You Don't Mind Losing Some Teeth: West Squornshelous
Demonyms: Confederate (political); Squornshelan (cultural, not always PC)
Ethnicites in the Confederacy include Squornshelan, Molvanian, Brantid, Algolian, Sivolvian, and Han, if you are curious about a particular player's ethnicity you can send me a TG or message me on discord
Team Nickname: Black-and-Reds (never Red-and-Blacks)
Team Colors: Confederate Red (#EE0000) and Black (#000000)
Trigram: SRS
Captain: Jirar Lomidan
Vice Captain: Jinkzta Ulcviecel
Manager: Kornelie Tamela (58 y/o)
With longtime manager Bethany Donnell sacked roughly a third of the way into World Cup 84, and replacement Heldir Zaman let go following the disaster that was Cup of Harmony 76, the Black-and Reds were in need of a new manager, and without any compelling candidates. The domestic options were, well, all available for good reasons, and inaction early on in the transfer window meant that most of the compelling foreign options had already accepted offers before the SCFA had thought to make any. With few real options remaining (no offense to Bøb Übermanager), the SCFA turned inward, appointing board member Kornelie Tamela. Tamela has had extensive managerial experience in the Brantid Women's Football League before moving to the administrative side of things. While serving as manager, she has temporarily recused herself from all board meetings and votes. For the Cup of Harmony, Tamela looks to be trying to strike a balance between bringing her best players, while also developing the youth of the team, eschewing a few more established names to stock her bench with prospective future first-teamers.

Cup of Harmony 77 23-Player Roster
(players listed first in each category are more likely to start)

Goalkeepers
Stovar Krieven - ImageNorth Laithland - 31y/o - 54 caps - Male
Of the many Confederates who have taken their talents abroad, Krieven is definitely one of the success stories. Leaping from floundering Interblag to the Nepharim Premiership, he spent two years with Bishop, being relegated the first, and earned himself an offer from North Laithland, who have established themselves as a consistently mid-table club of late. As a keeper, he is known for his athleticism and, increasingly, his *ahem* enthusiastic and outspoken communication with his defense. If nothing else, the back line will be very clear on what his expectations of them are.

Argis Ekewakan - Yassaca - 32 y/o - 5 caps - Male
Ekewakan was a big part of Yassaca's run to second place. Though some have disparaged his achievements, giving more credit to the superb defense in front of him, detailed analysis of his play shows a smart player who reads the attack particularly well. Finishing as runner-up to the former Qusmo first choice for goalkeeper of the year is no shortcoming on his part.

Helaia Sivitri - Arkintoofle United - 28 y/o - 2 caps - Female
The fabled goalkeeper-under-thirty has finally been found (though she won't be under thirty for too much longer). On an Arkintoofle United team with some definite gaps in the back line, Sivitri took firm hold of the starting position, and acquitted herself well, despite the team's unspectacular goals against figure. It's not the same sort of challenge as some of the other keepers on this list have faced, but Tamela seems to realize that the Black-and-Reds can't ride on Stovar Krieven's shoulders forever.

Left Backs
Djabgor Dzarkhin - ImageFoxchester Raiders - 31 y/o - 88 caps - Male
Dzarkhin has been the very definition of a steady, dependable national team fullback for nearly a decade now. He doesn't do a whole lot in the attacking third, but will give the opposing right wing trouble all day.

Jaylene Kazarov - Syneca AC - 24 y/o - 6 caps - Female
Kazarov is a strong wingback with an excellent workrate. After helping Syneca follow up their shocking Superleague title with a third place finish in Season 5, she gets the callup to the national team. She put up enough of a showing in qualifying despite limited opportunities to justify being named to the CoH roster, though she will likely spend the majority of her time on the bench.

Right Backs
Jinkzta Ulcviecel - ImageJinja City - 34 y/o - 95 caps - Male
Named team captain in what is almost certainly his last international tournament, Ulcviecel became the most-capped player in Confederate history (though his lead over Zoban Ajao is as slim as it could be). Some of his trademark speed remains, but as age has taken its toll, Ulcviecel has settled into a more moderated style of play. It shouldn't be thought that this has necessarily represented a decline in quality just yet though.

Reuter Storsjo - Traal Athletics - 26 y/o - 6 caps - Male
Storsjo, unlike a series of center backs, has stuck around at Traal, and now into his prime, will be an excellent option for the national team as Ulcviecel and Delu continue to age. He is a two-way player, but tends slightly conservative, careful to get back and defend when necessary. His performance during qualifying was good enough that Tamela opted to bring him to Zwangzug and Kelssek rather than the much more experienced Janar Delu.

Center Backs
Rudi Dalso - Jaglan Royals - 29 y/o - 61 caps - Male
One of the few bright spots on a puzzlingly bad Royals team, Dalso has been a steady contributor for the national team for some time now, supplanting Zemen Ystrad and Dymek Raktsov as the successor to Tervi Oleb on the back line. He is a complete center back, though his briefly undisputed reign as best Confederate defender has been challenged by Harkhan.

Walda Harkhan - Yassaca - 22 y/o - 16 caps - Female
Season 5's Defender of the Year, Harkhan (not to be confused with her twin sister Valda, who plays for Brasta), enjoyed a strong debut campaign through qualifying, despite the team falling short of their ultimate goal. She looks to be a fixture on the Black-and-Reds backline for years to come.

Skumantas Nakhutin - ImageGladerial United - 31 y/o - 31 caps - Male
Nakhutin is the sort of defender that you don't notice so much, because he does the little things right. There isn't so much need for spectacular last second tackles when you're in the right position to begin with.

Aryel Ciernik - Algolia - 22 y/o - 2 caps - Female
Not quite the same level of precocious that Harkhan has been, Ciernik still had a solid year with Algolia, and is developing a reputation as a fearless tackler. Despite her penchant for collisions, she has thus far shown just enough restraint to avoid picking up as many cards as you might expect. The two of them playing as defense partners for years to come is a prospect that should give some hope to weary Confederate fans after a fifth straight failure to qualify for the Finals.

Wing Midfielders
Jzeovak Vladcik - ImageAdmiral Storevik - 26 y/o - 85 caps - Male
Also comfortable playing at left forward or striker, Vladcik is enjoying a career renaissance of sorts. Having won the SFS with Admiral, he's back in vogue with the national team, and still has many years of football ahead of him. He scores goals and crosses in the air or along the ground. The main thing he doesn't do as well is defend.

Meaza Teklu - Megabrantid SC -29 y/o - 29 caps - Female
Right mid is something of a thin position for the Black-and-Reds at present, with Vrenz Tambura stepping down from international football, after seldom being called upon during CoH76 and IAC9. Teklu is a good starter, but nothing spectacular. Passes well, and gets a lot of crosses in, even if they aren't all exactly made with pinpoint accuracy.

Izoni Hocij - Chalesm - 26 y/o - 21 caps - Female
Hocij has proven that she knows how to get the ball into the goal, and has earned a spot on the team of the year as the consensus best left mid in the Superleague for the past two seasons. Vladcik's continued excellence in Savojarna and strong play through qualifying still leaves her second on the depth chart though.

Lavanya Naqvi - ImageMâ Âlâmëómë - 27 y/o - 23 caps - Female
Naqvi seems just a bit behind Hocij in Tamela's eyes at present, something that could change quickly if she shows she can compete at a high club level after her big move to Farfadillis. She's a superb technician, but perhaps hangs on to the ball a little too long sometimes. With the glut of strong players at left midfield, Tamela has experimented with playing Naqvi on the right side as well. So far it's been a mixed bag, but as a player who's always been comfortable ranging inside from the wing, there's no reason why Naqvi can't excel on either flank.

Center Midfielders
Jirar Lomidan - ImageIbini FC - 30 y/o - 30 caps - Male
Another player, like Vladcik, highly regarded in the infancy of the Confederate international program. Lomidan also had to look abroad for an opportunity to prove his quality. Establishing oneself as top-choice center mid anywhere is difficult, but Lomidan managed to do so in the Eternal Empire no less. While Ibini suffered some setbacks in their most recent season, Lomidan's proven ability to lead a team at a high level has finally seen him get the recognition he richly deserved from his home country.

Iuri Takala - Megabrantid SC - 27 y/o - 43 caps - Male
Takala did his level best in Season 5 to make the center mid decision as difficult as possible. A year ago, MSC were coming off an underwhelming campaign, and there was little argument that he should be preferred over Lomidan (despite his inclusion in the SCFA team of the year). No longer. Takala and company stormed to the league title, and his status as the best center mid in the league was reaffirmed. Tamela has used him both at center mid and attacking mid, allowing her to cycle between him, Lomidan and Rebljeten depending on form.

Viordar Rebljeten - Algolia AC - 28 y/o - 48 caps - Male
The third man in the conversation at center mid, Rebljeten is definitely more of an attacker than the other two, but could find his position at attacking mid threatened if Tamela wants to find a way to play both Takala and Lomidan, as will likely be the case in key matches. Rebljeten perhaps needs to do a bit more to establish himself as a top-level player independent of Sigrid Eisenhauer, whose prodigious talent makes everyone in the Algolia attack look good.

Isperia Marrish - Megabrantid SC - 22 y/o - 5 caps - Female
With Season 5 Young Player of the Year and a spot on the corresponding Young Galacticos longlist to her name, Marrish is a definitely a rising star in Confederate football. A clever, crisp passer, she has yet to establish herself as a significant scoring threat, though on a team as stacked with finishers as MSC, playing that role has been largely unnecessary. Whether or not she'll be content to stay at MSC, where emerging from Iuri Takala's shadow will be a tall order, remains to be seen.

Strikers
Zoban Ajao - ImageUnioneers - 29 y/o - 94 caps - Male
Not yet 30, Ajao is nonetheless a seasoned international veteran, having played through times of plenty and lean years both. His imposing presence at the center of the attack, coupled with the experience to use height and strength effectively, are something that opposing defenses will ignore to their peril. His qualifying campaign was his best yet, though his high shooting percentage suggests that his goalscoring numbers are not sustainable in the long term.

Lyzolda Petrov - ImageSouthfell United - 26 y/o - 33 caps - Female
Petrov followed up her breakout year at Syneca with a solid debut in Nephara, leading Southfell with 19 goals. She's a complete striker with no major weaknesses, unless one were to fault her on a possible lack of sheer physical bulk, which is more than made up for by her most probable forward partner.

Kaalia Gerstlauer - ImageBlacklake Blues - 24 y/o - 22 caps - Female
Falling out of national team consideration after being mired mid-table with Royals, Gerstlauer's star is back on the rise after establishing herself as a reliable goalscorer with freewheeling Blacklake. In that striker's paradise, Gerstlauer has been able to refine her dribble-heavy style quite a bit, and is definitely a much more well-rounded player than when she first came on the scene at the tender age of 19.

Jeska Verhulst - 27 y/o - Yassaca - 12 caps - Female
While Yassaca's ascendancy has been built indisputably on defense and midfield possession, at some point you need someone to put the ball in the net. That's Verhulst's job, and one she's gotten pretty good at. At Yassaca, of course, no one is exempt from helping out defensively, and Verhulst has been molded into a high-effort, backtracking striker. The furthest thing from a poacher imaginable.

Imperium of Squornshelous
Cup of Harmony 77 Roster

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Y
Godmod scoring events: Y
RP injuries to my players: Y
Godmod injuries to my players: Y
Give yellow cards to my players: Y
Give red cards to my players: Y

Anything goes, I'll roll with it

The Imperium of Squornshelous is a proud and ancient nation, extant for an indeterminate number of years (early records being largely lost to the mists of time), and participating in its 39th World Cup qualifying attempt, albeit just its second in the modern era. At present, the Imperium exists at a cyberpunk tech level in a pocket dimension consisting solely of itself. It is not wholly unlike the Dreamed Realm, except for the part where it is wholly unlike the Dreamed Realm. More of a nightmare, really. A history of inexplicable temporal and spatial phenomena suggests that this may not always be the case. At present, the Imperium has been unable to find a way to coax its technology into functionality when beyond the bounds of its pocket dimension. As a result, the national team has been assembled from members of a fringe group within Imperial society. This Luddite religious sect consider cybernetic implants to be anathema, and as a result, experience no ill effects from the abrupt cessation of function such implants suffer when leaving the country. While certainly not up to the standards of old, this hastily assembled team during World Cup 84 qualifying and at the ensuing Cup of Harmony were respectable enough that the team has been brought back intact, with one notable exception. Striker Lyyti Vang, who led the team in goals during qualifying, vanished following the team's final match at Cup of Harmony 76. No information on her current whereabouts has been made public in the Imperium, though some media outlets have, in the year since, introduced the notion that she was abducted by a terrorist organization, the precise nature and goals of which remain, at present, obscure.

TROLLEBORG NATIONAL TEAM

Nickname: Trolls
Record in WCQ +20=12=12, goals 97:76.

Football is a prime sport for a country, with a league having ended 128th season right now.

Trolleborg has rather checkered history in football: team won Baptism of Fire tournament and having a very good press due to quality of game, but make rather unconsequental debute in World Cup Qualifying with some very puzzling results. Then Trolleborg missed playoffs in the Cup of Harmony just by razor-thin margin, but after that was badly and completely inexplicably mauled in IAC. Then Pan-Pacific Cup arrive, and team showed here an exceptionally high-quality game, before the sudden, completely unexpected and traumatic exit in the semifinal from the hands of newbie Anserisa team, which deliver us devastating defeat. Fans waiting for WC85 campaign with understandable caution, altough Trolleborg put more then decent performance, finished 3rd just two point short of qualification, by way drop more than enough points in a games with a clearly weaker opponents. Everyone watching oncoming CoH with a view to gauge team progress\regress since last year.

NATIONAL TEAM

COACH

The team is still coached by Morten TROGHIL – 53 уears old triumphator of the BoF.

PLAYERS

Robust performance of established players in WC’85 means there was no serious rotation and sweeping changes. There was a some voices to take group of promising youngsters with a team, but due to the weak showing by both U18 and U21 team, it’s not visible who of junior players enough decent to be taken.

Goalkeepers
1. Tomas Kot Kotsson (28). Flexible and agile, quick-thinking, he, alas, don’t make miracles in the international games. He prove this in the last campaign, unfortunately.
12. Klemens Gould (26). When he was called into the squad year ago, some pundits predicted him moved Kotsson out of net, but he continued to be number two – reliable, cold in the heat, competent on the line, but, unfortunately, not much more.
23. Marten Windass (34). Experienced goalkeeper with a lot of talent. In the time, he was like a Kot Kotsson, and albeit now he wasn’t so fresh and fast as in his heyday, but he knows many secrets of goalkeeper trade. Because both other goalkeepers not progressed fast enough, there was a voices to replace him in his capacity of elder statesmen by someone else.

Defenders
2.Nikolaas Laste (29). He was reliable left back, who has a tendency going forward, but in the recent years prefer to concentrate on his defensive duties, which he does very successfully in the local championship, and only recently began to show something like that in the international games.
3.Kasper Wolters (26). One of the team brightest stars, he is right back by default, but he is very strong, very fast, have a very good shot and even better crossing skill. Having all this, he very often make a lighting runs to the opposition box and sometime substitute right midfielder. He create many opportunities for attacking players in the WC85 campaign.
4.Torgeir Dushegub (29). Known as a Column, this tall and strong player usually dominates a box both in the air and at the grass. Being always calm and confidence, he projected aura of them around. Albeit in the local championship he often been seen in the opposition box when corner kick is played, in the international football he don’t make any runs forward, altough recently he make a moves into the opposition box, where create a really terrific situations together with Gulbranden on the corner kicks.
5. Aien Troger (26). He is fast, strongly build and extremely good in tackling. It’s very challenging to move into the box past him. Maybe he will go into pages of history as one of the most brightest defenders of our championship, his career having taking hit from his unsuccessful marriage bid for Abanhfleft midfielder (there is more about that). But now he now looked as if totally overcome his grief and shock – his last league season and WC85 campagin is nothing short of brilliant.
18. Torben Bagger (26). He was distinguished by composure and the right choice of position in the games of domestic championship, and he was called up to the national team due to the breakdown of the two key defence players, proved to be solid choice, but right now not much more.
14. Heiko Aldekamp (26). Useful addition to the team, can play both right and left defender, preferably first one, moving fast and tackling hard.
15. Morten Levenkrans (31). Full left back in the beginning of his career, he than move to the center, having considered almost impassable in both positions. Albeit right now not the fastest man on the field, he is very good man-marker, having excellent header and can be very useful when attacks began. He make six goal assistances in the WC85 campaign.
23. Morgens Hoyte(25). Recent addition to the squad, robust player with a real big stature due to the height and athletic appearance, he can covered a lot of ground fast and do this consistently. He see only a few minutes on the field in the WCQ85, but nevertheless continue provide a much needed backup for the main team players.

Midfielders
6. Rolf Valgren (29). Quick-thinking, with a perfect understanding of game, seeing everyone and everything in the field, and with brilliant passing skills, this man can bring ball everywhere he wants. It is very possible, that he will be one of the greatest midfielders in the history of Trolleborg, have he not lacking some technique and speed.
16. Hendrick Groningen (27). The defensive midfielder, probably the best in his generation, he was not selected to play in BoF and joined team by way, proved himself worthy of a place in the team, caused a lot of problems to the attacking players of the opposing teams. His talent of intercepting ball in the middle and using every possibility to begin attacks was fully appreciated by everyone – apart, probably, of his opponents.
8. Finn Finnsnes (28). He is only one in the whole selected team ever play abroad. He was one of the creators of the victory in the BoF, and try to make himself useful in the WCQ, but without much success, albeit he receive some positive mentions in foreign press. Beginning his career as a right midfield\right winger, now he play more like attacking midfielder. He is swift, smart, good dribbler and excelled in set-pieces.
9. Morten Troll (25). He is a brightest star amongst midfielders in the whole country. Genius of game, with a wonderful dribbling, beautiful technique, excellent pass and extremely good shot, he won many games for his local team single-handedly, but also a great team player. Highly probably, he will be a player of generation, and very probably, best player Trolleborg ever had. He brilliantly justified all the positive reviews of his game on the BoF, helping a team many times in difficult situations with its smart actions, and continue to do so in WCQ85.
7. Ruud Kolding (27). Left midfielder, covering lot of ground with his unbeliveable stamina, can press forwards or go back as team need. Albeit seen as a substitute, he won the hearts of fans and a strong place in the first team with his perfect game in the BoF matches, having retained it after WCQ84 and throught all calamities of IAC, PPC and WCQ85.
19. Brutil Mogrin (28). Can play either in the center or as a right midfielder, with a nerves of steel and cold mind he will continue be a useful backup for any of the midfielders if need arise.
22. Mortimer Torquelston (25). Another man who managed to get into the team, although experts had questions about his game in friendly matches. Skillful winger, who can play at either right or left flank, very mobile and prove himself as a master in change direction of attacks. His game in the Pan-Pacific Cup was good, and he was rather useful for a coach in WCQ85 campaign.

Forwards
10. Stuart Kerr (29). Best sniper of the two of the last three championship, quick, brave, skillful, and having ability shot from everywhere in the box right despite defenders best efforts. Brilliantly confirmed his reputation as a prolific scorer, winning a prize for the topgoalscorer of BoF and add to his tally not a few goals in the other tournaments. But he missed good part of the last Trolleborg championship due to the trauma in the CoH game with Bolgano and its complications, and only at last Pan-Pacific Cup demonstrated something like game we are expected from him. In the WCQ85 he fully regain his position and reputation.
11. Torfinn Skaloed (27). Intelligent forward as it was, he can move very quickly, constantly ahead of the defenders, successfully escapes from markers, and in case of need he often going back and successfully acquire ball here to begin attacks. In the BoF games, he was, though, play mainly in the role of power forward, not quite familiar to him, and it was not his best games and he is completely out of the game in the WCQ84, returned to the fore in the Pan-Pacific Cup and then was on and off in the games of WCQ85.
17. Tom Gulbranden (28). Build like a very tall stone wall, he easily can tramp defenders if he wish to do so, but his strong leg shot, without any preparation at all, give him other opportunity to have a points of popularity with fans. It is looked impossible, that a man of such a stature can bring himself in the air at all, but nevertheless he is – strongly jumping and struck the ball by the head with deadly precision. This is what he prove in the BoF games four time in nine games, but WCQ85 campaign was much less successfull for him, IAC games give us even less joy seeing at his actions, and only at Pan-Pacific Cup did he regularly featured in team squad and find a net often. WCQ85 seen him recovered from misfortunes and seven goals is speaking by themselves
21. Karsten Severin (24). This fast forward, who can conjured goal from nothing, are quite impressive in the last four seasons, and he has not scored less than 12 goals in any of them, but it is not yet clear how successfully he will compete with already proven players. At the Pan-Pacific Cup he played real good but was used only as a backup in WCQ85.

It is widely understood that our team will play fast attacking football with a strong teamwork and apply pressing whatever on the field when ball is not on our side.

OUR FANS

Fans is a pride of Trolleborg and almost part of the team. Having already earning themselves a name and a good reputation at every place where national team playing last year be it basketball, hockey, rugby or football, they surely will make their presence seen and felt everywhere games will be held, with their usual pastimes like marching with songs, waving flags, try local cuisines, putting cultural performances and trying involve everyone around in all of this. They will give out some Trolleborg memorabilia like a ribbons, buttons, scarves and so on. As already become tradition, we ask host countries to allow a parade of fans with a live music before each game and a places for series of exhibitions devoted to gastronomy, culture and national traditions of our country. Also we ask allocate us some space in the hosting cities to make an exhibition of our cultural heritage and traditions with some traditional sport contests for a local citizens.

Nickname: Olibondeka (The Olives)
Captain: Baleren Narke

Manager - Image Louis Vaudrail (Sicoutimont) - Age 66
Louis Vaudrail has had a storied managerial career, and in his last job before retirement has been tasked with the Astograthian national team since the start of World Cup 85 qualifying. Once manager of Nordique Val-Maurice in his homeland of Sicoutimont, Vaudrail's first experience in Astograth was with Gesterlake FC, where a talented squad that included Sicoutian NT forward Georges Allonts took the club to heights never seen before or since, including qualification to the Globe Cup. In the relaunched Astograthian First Division, his success at Athletic Club Olarria landed him the job at the powerful Royal Rumiatzi. In 4 seasons at the club he won a Royal Cup and a long-awaited league title.

The Futbol Astograthiko Federazioa (FAF) have placed their faith in a foreign manager for the third time in the national team's history, after the successful tenure of World Cup Hall of Famer Powell Pieran, from Civil Citizenry, and the less successful spell of Sir James Handel, from Yesopalitha. Vaudrail's selection of players for World Cup 85 followed a strict line of form and performance above history, though critics alleged a bias toward his prior clubs Olarria and Rumiatzi. Nevertheless, the squad's defensive core is formed by players from Sporting Iturributa, the seemingly unstoppable side that have won the league for two seasons running. Following up on promises he made to the squad, Vaudrail has maintained the same roster for Cup of Harmony 77 as he did during World Cup qualifying.

Vaudrail will most likely line up with a flexible 4-2-3-1 formation, with two defensive midfielders and wingers that can be shifted up or down the pitch as the situation demands. Though having shot up the rankings thanks to an impressive qualifying campaign, Astograth are still well outside the elite. Therefore, Vaudrail has decided the best approach will be a conservative, possession-minded approach. If facing opposition against whom possession can't be achieved, then the plan will likely be to fall back into a 4-2-3-1 diamond and play for counter-attacks. If feeling adventurous, the team may change into a standard 4-4-2 or 4-4-2 diamond may be deployed - Vaudrail has brought three forwards and a brilliant centre midfielder in Beltza Urkizo with a mind for this.

Starting XI:

#1 - GK – Aratz Anzizar - Age 35 - Image Sporting Iturributa - 50 caps, 19 clean sheets
Long-time keeper for Sporting Iturributa, voted Best GK of the Astograthian First Division for 5 seasons. Notable for his consistency, aerial command and organisation of the defense, Anzizar has built a club reputation rivaling that of Sporting's Zernin Aira, the greatest keeper in Astograthian history - and is now tasked with taking that to the national team level one last time before international retirement.

#4 - LB - Urre Remondegi - Age 30 - Image Urbizania Wanderers - 28 caps, 1 goal
Three-time best left-back of the First Division, Remondegi first caught the eye playing for Oyardo FC, later making his way to Ituraitz FC. Gorriaka went on to clinch the club's record-breaking ninth league title and the Royal Cup in their centenary year, prompting Wanderers to make a big-money bid for Remondegi. Resilient and dynamic, he's a versatile player that can play from the back, further up the wing or even shifted to central midfield if required.

#2 - CB - Mogel Doyenard - Age 29 – Image Sporting Iturributa - 43 caps, 4 goals
Doyenard is, many argue, the best Astograthian defender currently playing. Now captain of Sporting, he has been consistently voted the best center-back in the league since breaking into the first team, and in a club renowned for producing excellent defenders still manages to astound. Measuring 193 cm, he's a valuable asset for corners.

#18 - CB - Ugaitz Leskerre - Age 30 - Image Lajuno (Eura) - 31 caps
Despite a low public profile, Leskerre has established himself as a squad player in one of the best leagues in the world at Eura's Lajuno, which has a proud tradition of sourcing Astograthian talent. Having also played for Pasarga's Paulinthal FC, Vaudrail is betting on Leskerre's international club experience to complement the domestic-based Doyenard and provide a solid core from which to structure the team's defensive play.

#3 - RB – Cheru Lizarza - Age 28 - Image Sporting Iturributa - 23 caps, 1 goal
Rounding out the defense is Lizarza, a solid if unspectacular full-back that initially came through at Oyardo and then moved to Eshan's Gracemeria, before returning to reinforce the most feared defense in Astograth at Sporting Iturributa. In recent years he has established himself as the best right-back in the league and an easy choice for Vaudrail.

#14 - DM – Indartsu Lekea (VC) - Age 30 - Image AFC Corvistone (Nephara) - 39 caps, 2 goals
Lekea has had a successful career away from Astograthian shores, after departing from Athletic Club Rumiatzi while still a teenager. Previously at Apox's Barbury Town, he is one of two Astograthian players plying his trade in the top-ranked Nepharim league. With his extensive experience outside the country, something generally lacking in the rest of the team, Lekea has Vaudrail's confidence to serve as vice-captain of the team, presumably to captain most matches given that captain Narke is no longer first choice. He'll be expected to be the primary agent in stopping attacks through the middle, backing up Gurina in controlling possession through the middle of the pitch, and generally serving as a mentor to his younger partner.

#6 - DM - Gaitzka Gurina - Age 26 - Image Sporting Iturributa - 22 caps, 3 goals
One of the younger players in a mature squad, Gurina has emerged over the last few years as a real gem of a player for Sporting Iturributa. Originally at Ituraitz Victory, Gurina has proven to be dogged in defense and cerebral in attack, and Vaudrail has singled him out as the team's metronome and crucial to the success of the 4-2-3-1 formation. His first team status above the likes of the more veteran Beltza Urkizo has caused some amount of drama in the squad, with the two coming to shoves and face-offs on the pitch more than once.

#11 - LM - Iraunkor Berdesagar - Age 30 - Image Scaffield (Brenecia) - 27 caps, 5 goals
A product of East Railway's youth system, Berdesagar left the country in search of better opportunities and found it in Brenecia's Gallant Cross. He stuck them through thick and thin, including several years in the second tier, before earning a move to the top-flight Scaffield. Despite stiff competition, Berdesagar has earned himself a starting spot on Olibondeka and hopes to be a serious attacking threat. Capable of playing on the left or right wings or as a central attacking midfielder, Berdesagar has it all to shine on the national team.

#10 - RM – Ihazintu Malkorra - Age 28 - Image Vermillion Wanderers (Nephara) – 25 caps, 5 goals
Malkorra, voted three times best right winger in the First Division, was a youth product of Miners FC before signing with Royal Association and eventually cross-town rivals Sporting Iturributa, emerging as one of Astograth's hottest talents - his dribbling is mesmerising, and can flow freely from center midfield to the back to up on attack as the situation requires. At his peak and now transferred to the Nepharim league, Malkorra looks forward to show what he can do.

#8 - AM – Azeari Duarte - Age 31 - Image Royal Rumiatzi – 30 caps, 6 goals
Duarte is widely recognised as the best creative player in the Astograthian league and chief architect of Royal Rumiatzi's successes over the past decade. Over the years he has demonstrated immense vision in providing assists and occasionally get himself on the scoresheet as well. His partnership with Urdanibia at club and international level is one of Astograth's greatest assets. Duarte is one of the team's most media-present faces, and carries a lot of pressure on his back.

#9 - CF - Yasone Urdanibia - Age 33 - Image Royal Rumiatzi - 43 caps, 17 goals
A six-time First Division top scorer, Urdanibia originally came through the youth system of Rumiatzi 529 and got his first big-time opportunity with Oyardo FC. After scoring 19 goals in 24 matches in the first season of the reinaugurated First Division, he was quickly snapped up by Royal Rumiatzi and, despite a rocky start, has established himself as the league's premier striker and the best local forward of his generation. Relies on the midfield to set up his chances, but is absolutely lethal with his feet and head - and looking to make his mark with Olibondeka before the years pass him by. His game-winning strike against Audioslavia during qualifying has already gone down as one of the great moments in team history.

Substitutes:

#13 - GK – Gentza Bedigax - Age 30 - Image FC Felsenkirchen 1879 (Siovanija and Teusland) - 6 caps, 3 clean sheets
Bedigax initially impressed the First Division by being one of the reasons that the unfancied Erribe United remained in the top flight during their début season, and continued that form at Urbizania Wanderers by winning the league and consistently being one of the least-beaten keepers in the competition. Now transferred for one of Siovanija and Teusland's top teams, he has already proven himself a capable replacement for Anzizar in prior call-ups and will be looking to establish himself as the logical successor.

#23 - GK – Aurre Laurnagaray - Age 27 - Image Athletic Club Olarria - 1 cap
Olarria's Aurre Laurnegaray earned himself a call-up through strong form in being one of the least-beaten goalkeepers of the last few seasons, ahead of the more fancied Bihar Raldua from Ituraitz. As younger brother of Sporting's forward Egoitz, the Laurnagarays are the first pair of brothers to be called up to the national team, and Aurre will be looking for any slip-up by Anzizar and Bedigax to further stake his claim.

#19 - LB – Marko Martel - Age 23 – Image Athletic Club Olarria - 16 caps, 1 goal
Martel, the youngest player on the squad, was a last-minute inclusion that bumped off the more conventionally expected Musko Uriel. A strong season for Olarria earned him a place on the famous Galáctico's shortlist, which sent ripples across Astograth and certainly played a part in Vaudrail's decision. Martel has much to do to settle into the national team, but will take any chance to keep climbing and perhaps show himself as a good purchase for more powerful clubs.

#12 - CB - Selatse Yrigoy - Age 32 - Image Royal Rumiatzi - 9 caps, 1 goal
Long considered a workhorse but not especially good, Yrigoy has shown himself in the last couple of seasons to have been severely underrated. Picking up the slack for an offensively-focused Rumiatzi, Yrigoy has earned the respect and admiration of the fans and Vaudrail, enough to be a valuable replacement in a highly competitive position.

#5 - CB – Baleren Narke (C) - Age 34 – Image Ituraitz FC - 51 caps, 2 goals
Captain and one-club man for Ituraitz FC, Narke led the club to its best period in over twenty years, winning two consecutive league titles - the second of them a double during their centenary. Square-jawed and muscular, Narke is an expert at keeping his defense in line and skilled at managing dressing room drama. The sole representative of Ituraitz FC given their current poor form, he'll be sitting on the bench but can be relied upon to tighten up the defense at any time.

#16 - RB – Ixaka Echeberz - Age 27 - Image Urbizania Wanderers - 10 caps, 1 goal
There is a relative dearth of quality at right-back at the moment, so Vaudrail's choices have been rather straightforward for this call-up. Nevertheless, Echeberz is a solid, reliable player who can stay in defense or move forward into a more modern wing-back role. Does his job well for Wanderers, and for Sporting Arkamo and Ituraitz Victory before them.

#15 - CM – Beltza Urkizo - Age 31 - Image Iturributa United - 18 caps, 3 goals
Urkizo is certainly the best centre midfielder in Astograth, one-time First Division Player of the Season and the beating heart of Iturributa United for nearly ten years, but he doesn't fit into Vaudrail's formation. Too attacking for defensive midfield, too defensive for attacking midfield, Urkizo would be right at home in a 4-4-2 or United's bold 4-3-1-2, but his current status as bench player behind the more junior Gaitzka Gurina has created a focus for infighting within the squad.

#17 - LM - Koldo Ibargengoitia - Age 27 - Image Usmer (Eura) - 13 caps
An exciting winger who can be played out wide, made to cut inside or, in a pinch, deployed in centre midfield. Capable of scoring but far better as a creative outlet. Just signed for Eura's Usmer after dazzling at Oyardo FC, Astograth University and Ituraitz FC, but yet to prove himself worthy of the storied #11 shirt of Astograthian left wingers.

#21 - RM - Churio Aragolaza - Age 28 - Image Urbizania Wanderers - 10 caps
A rare attacking-minded product of Blue Mountain Range's academy, Aragolaza has proven himself a dependable threat on Wanderers' right flank. Though often overshadowed by Jê Çìró on the left, Aragolaza is a cunning player that can sneak through the defense's channels and show up to score from unexpected places. Has yet to fully realise his potential with Olibondeka, and fears he may soon be getting cut as a result.

#22 - AM - Gero Sorrosua - Age 31 - Image Urbizania Wanderers - 13 caps, 1 goal
Once hyped as the next big thing, Sorrosua was on a meteoric rise from Gesterlake FC to Sporting Iturributa. He spent a single season there, winning the title but spending most of it on the sidelines injured or having little do on the pitch. Sorrosua was quickly branded a flop and offloaded to Basabe Old Boys. He's carried that stigma since then but slowly worked his way back to the top, earning a move to Urbizania Wanderers and finally living up to the hype by establishing himself as a top-class playmaker. Some argue he should be first choice ahead of Duarte.

#20 - CF - Yokin Arana - Age 27 - Image Iturributa United - 11 caps, 3 goals
Iturributa United is a well-oiled goalscoring machine, and a key component in the last few years has been their homegrown striker Yokin Arana. Despite not being a physical player he is quite capable of finding space in tight defenses, and is notable for seeing beyond his own boots and playing smart assists rather than going for goal himself. An interesting variant at Vaudrail's disposal, and has earned something of a reputation as a good substitution.

#7 - CF – Egoitz Laurnagaray - Age 32 - Image Sporting Iturributa - 55 caps, 18 goals
Laurnagaray lacks flair and showmanship, and doesn't score nearly as much as Urdanibia, but his value lies in his reliability and the capacity to spin gold out of whatever he's handed. If the rest of the team is struggling and possession is scant, Laurnagaray can be an option to change up the attack and make chances count.

Zeta Reka & Hügeltaldom Federativna Republika Zeta Reka i Hügeltaldom
Cup of Harmony Info
National Overview

The Federal Republic of Zeta Reka & Hügeltaldom (Federativna Republika Zeta Reka i Hügeltaldom, or Bundesrepublik Zeta Reka und Hügeltaldom), known informally as Zeta Reka, is a federation located in the region of Esportiva. The history of the federation's two primary components stretches back over hundreds of years. The country itself came into existence seventy nine years ago with the creation of the dual-monarchy. The monarchy was overthrown by the August Socialist Organization, who controlled the nation exclusively for decades. Sixty two years after the nation's formation, the federation's semi-presidential constitution came into effect. The population was 12,394,200 as of the last census, and is estimated to be slightly higher. Zeta Reka's people currently grapple with the aftermaths of regional disorder, the slow opening of it's borders, and the aftermath of privatization. Social progress is limited but has taken place. For some, financial stability has been found in the new order. Violence initiated by separatists against federal authorities has declined since the democratization of society.

The nature of organized sport has changed with the fall of the ASO. Private ownership of sports clubs has increased profits and wages, but mostly revenue. Integration into international football was backed by former president Iwan Maurer in his 100 Project, which aims to open up Zeta Reka by the nation's centennial. The government program is controversial for betraying Zeta Reka's traditions and for increasing the influence of outside forces. For some, the national team's second place finish in the Baptism of Fire is a unifying event. After a close call in World Cup qualification, mired with political controversies, sports will be used to unify the public at the Cup of Harmony.
Team Info
The National Football team of Zeta Reka & Hügeltaldom represents the esportivan nation and is organized by the Football Federation of Zeta Reka & Hügeltaldom. They are participating in the eighty fifth world cup cycle. They finished second in the Baptism of Fire event, and accrued one of the larger point totals from the event. In their brief history, over forty five players have been capped in twenty two games, twenty one of which were full internationals.

Roster (starters italicized)
01: Bosko Nowak
Age: 37
Height: 194.75cm/6'4.625"
Caps: 29
Goals/Assists: 0/0
Club: DD Porto Nowi
After a strong showing in other world cup events. The old man will return to block he box. He can still sweep, but his stamina is bought into question. He will start nomatter what critiques are given. Growing up in poor homes and spending time in the prision system has hardened the man into a tough defender. Don't be shocked if he gets a card.

12: Zlatko Wukowić
Age: 22
Height: 185.25cm/6'1"
Caps: 9
Goals/Assists: 0/0
Club: Lonngeylin City (Vilatia)
Playing for Lonngeylin City in the Vilitan League in a big step up from playing in the 6th division of Zeta Reka. The young man was strong at the youth level domestically. However, has been given more senior minutes for country that for his former Rekan club in Kven.

23: Iwan Trajanić
Age: 21
Height: 183.66cm/6'0.375
Caps: 1
Goals/Assists: 0/0
Club: Ovrâd Fruchtbarkeit (on loan from Aleiusia Capital)
A graduate of Aleiusia Capital's strong academy, Trajanić was thrown into the fire in his senior carear. He started in IFCF matches due to the awkward age situations Capital faced. After those games he was loaned to a second division club with a megar defence. The challenge has been tough. But Trajanić is a goalkeeper to watch over the next few years.

02: Stanko Yakowić
Age: 28
Height: 192.75cm/6'3.875"
Caps: 28
Goals/Assists: 0/0
Club: Aleiusia Capital
Stanko is a solid defender who has had the most international cards of any player on the team. The rough play has cause the twin brother to be suspended before. Hot headed on the microphone, and aggressive under the lights, Stanko will use great bursts of energy to humble opposition attackers.

03: Barolomej Wladmirowić
Age: 28
Height: 171.33cm/5'7.5"
Caps: 38
Goals/Assists: 2/1
Club: Pikveld Rangers (North Quadana)
An option as a half back, Wladmirowić will play in the center for this tournament. He can move the ball forward. Wladmirowić uses his center of mass to bob and weave around the lines, and has a good stride for a man with short legs. He is the country's most capped player, and will gt a few opportunities in the future.

13: Wladmir Bogdanić
Age: 27
Height: 185.66/6'1.125"
Caps: 21
Goals/Assists: 1/0
Club: VZRH Matov-Uri
Good play in qualifying allows Bogdanić to remain in the main roster. However, shifts to the squad see him in a backup role. A working man's spirit is exemplified in Bogdanić's play. His attack is laid back, but he gets tight off the ball and can hit like a ton of bricks.

14: Jan Thimig
Age: 22
Height: 203cm/6'7.875"
Caps: 16
Goals/Assists: 0/0
Club: Ogroven Vanguardi FK
An imposing player, Jan Thimig is an anti-aerial specialist in Zeta Reka. He applies his trade to one of the country's top defenses. Thimig has helped hold the line at an international level in tough games.

Left
04:Janko Yakowić
Age: 28
Height: 193cm/6'4"
Caps: 12
Goals/Assists: 1/2
Club: Aleiusia Capital
Janko and his twin Stanko have contributed much to the national team. Janko, an okay attacking option, was not used much near the end of qualifying.

15: Wladmir Zuzkoff
Age: 27
Height: 174cm/5'8.5"
Caps: 20
Goals/Assists: 1/0
Club: VZRH Matov-Uri
What he lacks in stature Zuzkoff makes up for in brute strength. He has a tendency to experiment off the ball, and could be out of alignment at times with the rest of the defensive chain. He is also the most likely player to protest a call. The attitude has come from being awarded a red card in the Baptism of Fire semi-final.

Right
05: Steffanow Kostessen
Age: 24
Height: 181cm/5'11.75"
Caps: 11
Goals/Assists: 0/1
Club: Aleiusia Capital
Kostessen will start in the Cup of Harmony after a solid performance in qualifying. Kostessen tends to give the back ranks a greater semblance of order. However, his sudden moves make him a threat against players who can't adapt.

16: Wukdrag Nikowić
Age 22
Height: 179.25cm/5'10.5"
Caps: 6
Goals/Assists: 0/0
Club: AFK Imperialismus
Nikowić was a reserve in qualifying who played in the Baptism of fire. He has a good fire and should come in handy in the Cup of Harmony, though not from a place a beauty or grace.

06: Mullow Dorboslawić
Age: 28
Height: 174.66cm/5'8.75"
Caps: 14
Goals/Assists: 0/0
Club: DD Porto Nowi
Mullow Dorboslawić is one of the highest paid players in Zeta Reka, and his stock has only gone up over this international campaign. He played a few less games than expected from last minute roster change. The night life loving Dorboslawić is the expected starter for most of the campaign. As mentioned Dorboslawić is a man about town, and can been seen with cheep suits and expensive shirts in many drinking establishments. The fun stops when he plays, as he takes away chances from the opposing team, and feeds the ball deep.

17: Stani Gröss
Age: 23
Height: 174cm/5'8.5"
Caps: 20
Goals/Assists: 0/3
Club: FK Banfigrade
An active player for the national team, Gröss plays at the same position for the club as he does for the country. As a defensive midfielder, Gröss is a committed man marker. He has made a plays work from speed, and is still getting better with his tactics.

10: Rybki (Prodanowić) (c)
Age: 35
Height: 176.25cm/5'9.625"
Caps: 33
Goals/Assists: 9/10
Club: DD Porto Nowi
A top player, age did show itself in qualifying. Rybki is well rested, and looks to play an all out attack in this tournament. Opposing teams will need to watch out for Rybki in set peices. He has a strong record in assists as well.

11: Želmir Kolarowić
Age: 27
Height: 190cm/6'2.75"
Caps: 28
Goals/Assists: 6/10
Club: Kven FK
Kolarowić is a former team mate of Dorboslawić and Rybki for DD Porto Nowi. The trio's lack of silverware caused Kolarowić to be sold to Kven FK, who Kolarowić captained in a championship winning season. The trio know each other well, but have to keep winning to keep outside pressure off the team's back. When Kolarowić doesn't have the ball he can confuse, while his on ball play is direct and works thanks to great conditioning.

21: Dennis Silvester
Age: 23
Height: 182.75cm/6"
Caps: 2
Goals/Assists: 0/1
Club: Platinastigrade
An injury to a different player gives Silvester another chance to prove himself for the team. He has an assist to his name, but it wasn’t a big deal to most observers. Silvester hasn’t done as much as was hoped after his strong domestic play for the last two seasons.

22: Zoran Kować
Age: 28
Height: 175.25cm/5'9"
Caps: 11
Goals/Assists: 0/2
Club: FKP Ottowić County
Kować was a quiet player in his eleven games. He did contribute, and that gives him another chance to shine. If Kować is to improve his standing, the aging player’s creativity will need a real breakout performance in the next few years.

Left
07: Jad
Age: 25
Height: 184cm/6'0.5"
Caps: 33
Goals/Assists: 2/7
Club: Aleiusia Capital
Jad has had two goals and seven assists. The corner game is strong, but so is Jad’s ability to slide into space below the box. He can invert himself. He’s a rare talent and should perform well

07:Albertow Nowak
Age: 25
Height: 175cm/5'8.875"
Caps: 14
Goals/Assists: 0/3
Club: Brisara FC (Chromatika)
Albertow Nowak was conspicuous by his absence in the main qualifying line up. The speedy player is good with his assists as proven in Campionato Esportiva 26.

Right
08: Miloš Simeoniwić
Age: 23
Height: 178cm/5'10.125"
Caps: 32
Goals/Assists: 2/2
Club: Kven FK
Miloš didn't know if he's play football or another sport as a child, but in his late teens became the best wing prospect for Zeta Reka in a generation. Offers came from club after club, and he went with a club located in a tiny tourist town. Simeoniwić's fast play and good crosses helped bring Kven their first championship. The winger can also play on the other side of the pitch, a trait he shares with starting left-winger Jad.

19: Stojan Heiden
Age: 23
Height: 162.75cm/5'4.125"
Caps: 19
Goals/Assists: 3/1
Club: AK Stanimir
Heiden is the smallest player on the team by both height and weight. His quick pace and great passing makes him a serious player. Being a skilled on ball player forced knowledgeable opponents to play around him. If the other team isn't fast, they risk getting a red card thanks Heiden's acting chops and sympathy grabbing stature.

09: Bogdan Rawić
Age: 20
Height: 166cm/5'5.375"
Caps: 23
Goals/Assists: 13/0
Club: Aleiusia Capital
Rawić moves into the number nine spot for fitness reasons. He’s a fast diminutive player with good instincts for his age. A top score in the domestic league at age 19, Rawić will definitely bring the attack to the teams.

20: Stajkwon Hokwok
Age: 30
Height: 201cm/6'7.125"
Caps: 28
Goals/Assists: 13/3
Club: ISC Catalan City (Xanneria)
Not showing a best spring over the long run, Hokwok will act as a backup in the Cup of Harmony. His frame will be an asset if and when he plays, as will his experience.

HC: Marko Dusan
Age: 64
Dusan's tenure as coach has been supported by the Rekan sporting establishment. A second place performance in the Baptism of Fire plus finishing one place behind in qualifying has lead to some criticism of the national team’s brain trust. Even with complaints, Dusan has a good reputation and should be able to please the masses.

Outfits

Image
Commissioned by the Federal Football Organization, and made by Čast, the federation's largest sportswear manufacturer. The home attire takes it's design from the national flag, incorporating the color scheme of the flag and the Star of Stanimir. Some have been critical of this deisgn choice for being a potential violation of civic traditions. An alternate attire balances the set.
Penalties/Free kicks: Rybki, Stajkwon Hokwok, preferably attackers
Corners: Jad, Miloš Simeoniwić, Mullow Dorboslawić
Formation: 4-5-1 (common)/4-2-3-1 (rare)
