Welcome To The Maccian Domestic Newswire, Brought To You By The Esteemed Supreme Leader! Hail Karcermarskásagusson! Hail Ruitawa!

This thread will cover professional sports leagues, however, there is only one confirmed sports league that will be starting its inaugural season as a professional league in the 2034/35 season. The Maccian Football League! Due to constant rebellions by these dissenters, basketball and lacrosse will have to wait for their turns to become professional leagues. The semi-professional Maccian Basketball League or MBL and the Maccian Lacrosse League or MLL won't be getting a lot of coverage, but be on the lookout as you may see the occasional story.

Football, basketball and lacrosse are the three most played sports in Maccian. Handball and ice hockey are minority sports here. Gridiron football and rugby are unpopular sports at the moment but could start rising in participation levels long enough to be recognised by the general population. Baseball and cricket are hopeless sports to set up in Maccian at this point, practically no one understands how either of these games are played.

The Supreme Leader has established the title of 'The Grand Senior Sports Minister' with Sanai Ratashi being appointed to the role to oversee all activities related to sports. However, the most esteemed Supreme Leader can veto or forcibly implement any decision made by the Grand Senior Sports Minister.

Glory to the Motherland! Hail Karcermarskásagusson! Hail Ruitawa! The Most Benevolent and Powerful Rulers We Are So Grateful For!

MFL Rosters For 2034/35 Season

The most glorious and generous being amongst us has given us the Maccian Football League, or MFL, a new fully professional football league! 6 new teams are being founded so that there are a total of 20 teams in the MFL. The Skew Euld Ren Sinners, Zapster Thunder, New Nashzur Nymphs, Moskovey Blizzards, Zimmerstads Diamonds and Azure Flutes are the new teams that are entering this league. As previously reported, the MFL will be a closed league system with no relegations although this may change if there are future proposals by the wise Supreme Leader to make the MFL a promotion/relegation system. The top 8 teams will undergo the MFL Playoffs and will play their opponent in two legs. MFL Playoffs Final will be played between two teams in just one game to decide the MFL champion.

To help teams who are not as talented as others (looking at you Castrealm Royals and Singlewave Surf) there will be a draft system. Teams will be put into a draft lottery with the worst team being the most likely to obtain the first pick of the draft. There will be 2 rounds of draft picks, so each team will get 2 players from the first and second rounds. A total of 40 players will be drafted, including 8 foreigners. Foreigners will be able to declare for the draft and if picked, they will be able to immediately join up with that team and start playing. The MFL season will start after the World Cup Qualifiers are over. Many players who have featured in the Baptism of Fire 72 or are currently in the national team will be eligible to be drafted, along with other players.

Bold= Team Name Different Due to Relocation/Renaming of City

Independensia Benekia Romendes= Fuertzampf Wildfires
Singlewave & Dropperspear United= Singlewave Surf
Heartbreak City Love= Jetix No Will Enforcers
Audoti Rifles= Jozytiannemen Square Rifles

As mentioned previously, there will be a draft to compensate for certain teams' shortcomings. A draft lottery was conducted and the results have just been announced by the new MFL Commissioner, Callum Allen.

1st Pick: Castrealm Royals

2nd Pick: Kaylein Psychics

3rd Pick: Zimmerstads Diamonds

4th Pick: Azure Flutes

5th Pick: New Nashzur Nymphs

6th Pick: Jetix No Will Enforcers

7th Pick: Togekisst Soar

8th Pick: Singlewave Surf

9th Pick: Fuertzampf Wildfires

10th Pick: Zapster Thunder

11th Pick: Ramafluora Bloom

12th Pick: Skew Euld Ren Sinners

13th Pick: Keva Rogianel 09

14th Pick: Moskovey Blizzards

15th Pick: Kesha Mystics

16th Pick: Regenpluie Soul

17th Pick: Retutenninst Storm

18th Pick: Jozytiannemen Square Rifles

19th Pick: Oberblasten Providence

20th Pick: Mortvivant Ghosts

The Castrealm Royals will certainly be happy with obtaining the first pick because having Bryant Fairbank and Desmond Hoyles as your starting strikers is just laughable yet sad. Will the Royals propose a trade with the Psychics and offer Angela MacKinney and Haley Glovertz for the Psychics' second-round pick? Jake Sexter AND Amiensha Kiyle? They'd be a whole lot more threatening as a team, then they can bench those two sorry excuses of strikers. A scouting report on the 2034 draft class will be coming up shortly, and then we only have the draft to look forward to!

2034 MFL Draft Class Scouting Report

There are 2 rounds to the draft with a total of 40 players being drafted. Teams are able to trade draft picks or players. Foreigners are able to declare for the draft and will be given a Maccian Visa. Oh, and for all the foreigners wondering, when a person reaches 16, they are considered an adult here. This is a new law that the Supreme Leader himself made. Please note: Some of these players will not be immediately available for their new team as they may have international duty. A list of players ineligible to play right away will be provided.

ST Amiensha Kiyle, 16
Amiensha Kiyle has been a deadly force in the Maccian national team, scoring 16 goals in the World Cup 85 Qualifiers. Kiyle will almost certainly be the 2nd pick, possibly even the first if the Castrealm Royals draft her over Jake Sexter. It is safe to say that she will be the beacon for the Maccian national team for a long time.

Pros:
A nimble and clinical finisher
Able to dribble at defenders with speed
Can be the creative spark that is needed
Is incredibly consistent with her performances

Cons:
Lack of strength and can be bodied by defenders
Her headers need improving as they go all over the place

ST Jake Sexter, 16
After scoring a hat-trick to lead his secondary school to a state championship, Jake Sexter is one of the most promising players in this draft. he is projected to be the number 1 pick, which goes to show how talented the kid is if he’s beating out current national team players in this draft. He is similar to Amiensha Kiyle in many ways, and who knows, if he is able to translate his skills to the MFL, he may be teaming up with her.

Pros:
He has shown the ability to be an elite playmaker at times
Quite tall for his age at 6’3”, and well built, the kicker is he still has room to grow taller.
Despite his size, he is surprisingly agile
He is a goal poacher, lurks in the box and then strikes

Cons:
Being 6’3”, you’d expect him to be able to excel at heading the ball, but is he isn’t very good at it
Large player for his size, he could end up growing to be too tall and losing most of his mobility
He may underachieve given the amount of pressure currently on his shoulders through being hyped up, hopefully he can fulfill or even exceed those expectations

GK Roma Senozen
Roma Senozen is the Riflemen’s number 1 and has come up with numerous impressive saves which rescued Maccian from jaws of defeat many times during the World Cup 85 Qualifiers. He is one of only 3 goalkeepers in this draft class and can offer a lot for a team from the get-go.

Pros:
Good size for a goalkeeper and could grow even taller
Has abnormally long arms which is very useful when dive at full stretch is needed

Cons:
Can be beaten rather easily from the near post
Nutmegged far too often by strikers
Poor and unreliable with the ball at his feet

CB Resaiix Stzaszner, 17
Resaiix Stzasner has been underperforming in the World Cup Qualifiers but hopefully, he will return to his regular form. Stzasner could end up playing as a wingback for his new team as he is not really suited for the intense physical standards of a centre-half

Pros:
A good ball-playing centre-back could play wingback if he refined his crossing
Has some pace on him so attackers can’t just bolt past him as most of the time he’ll catch up

Cons:
His heading is very poor and has cost Maccian games in the past, must improve
Not as strong as most centre-backs, would really be better suited playing as a full-back
Isn’t very defensively aware, loses track of his man easily

RB Vorspiell Zoren,16
Vorspiell Zoren has been a poor defender for the Maccian national team and has had way too many chances to get in form, but he squandered them all. Teams may be wary of drafting such a defensive liability.

Pros:
Offensively sound with decent crossing and dribbling
Rarely commits any fouls on opponents
Speedy for a full-back

Cons:
Often switches off on defence which allows opposition players to exploit this weakness
More suited at being a winger than full-back
He pushes forward far too much, leaves the team vulnerable to counter attacks

CM Nines Rükommpt, 16
If only Nines Rükommpt grew 5-6 inches, then he'd be a top-notch centre-back. Sadly he wasn't blessed with the necessary genetics but what can you do? Rükommpt is more suited at playing at either a defensive midfielder or a centre-back if there are no other options.

Pros:
Good at winning the ball back and interceptions
Able to lob the ball all across the pitch
Very resilient, will do anything for his team

Cons:
Quite slow gets blown by faster players
Stamina
Lacks height and strength that would make him an even better player

CM Eztelle Zeyla, 16
Eztelle Zeyla is a starter for the Maccian national team and has shown that she can be relied on even in the toughest of circumstances. Zeyla is able to do it all, whether it is shooting, defending, passing or dribbling. Fans have started to call her “The Swiss Knife” because of her being a positionless player. Any team will be lucky to have such a versatile player.

Pros:
Good at stringing together passes
Good ball-winning and interception skills
Master at dead-ball situations, if she takes a free-kick it will either go in or the keeper will have to make a legendary save
Able to shoot from distance around the pitch with thundering shots
Quick and nimble, able to easily manoeuvre her way through players

Cons:
A gust of wind could knock her down, any team willing to draft her will probably dedicate numerous resources to beef her up.

CM Kiylen Drowska, 16
Kiylen Drowska starts for the Maccian national team’s midfield alongside Eztelle Zeyla and. She is the more creative midfielder out of the trio but has been underperforming in Maccian games, racking up 1 goal and 2 assists in 18 matches. She clearly lacks the end product that the national team is looking for, which may make teams wary to draft her.

Pros:
Can thread the ball between defenders to a teammate, good short passing skills
Able to ping the ball to opposite sides of the pitch with pinpoint accuracy
She is able to curl the ball just beyond the goalkeeper’s reach and it’s spectacular to watch her bend the ball like it’s a hula-hoop.

Cons:
Quite a slow player, defenders can easily catch up to her running at her full speed
Very poor stamina, she has to be taken off at the 60-minute mark because after that she is completely useless
Her form is very inconsistent, one night she’s playing well and the next night, she is nowhere to be seen.

RW Espede Luftboltzen, 17
If Luftboltzen is running at you on the counter-attack, give up. She is literally a speed demon, not so sure why she's playing football instead of running the 200m race in the Olympics

Pros:
Hands down the fastest player in Maccian, once she starts running there's no stopping
She terrorises defenders with her stepovers and roulettes
Could play striker because of her superb finishing

Cons:
Selfish, will probably not pass the ball to open teammates
Quite one dimensional as a player and is only focused on running with the ball and scoring.

LW Angelina Aurellix, 17
Aurellix came in for the injured Légionne Roi in the Baptism of Fire and impressed the then manager Kidomasdipuetz Jack T. Anjill (who has thankfully been executed for his crimes against the Motherland). She plays like there is no tomorrow and gives it her all every game, it seems as though she has something to prove to the world.

Pros:
Gives 110% every game she plays without fail
Very quick and nimble, it's challenging for a defender to stay on her.
Scores wonder goals with her left foot almost effortlessly

Cons:
A little injury prone, she has a reoccurring problem with her right knee
Easily out strengthed by almost every player on the pitch
Tends to rush a shot when one-on-one with the keeper

GK Rodrup Yimello, 16
Yimello is the most consistent player in this draft class. He's not flashy and just comes in to get the job done without causing any problems or controversies. Boring yet efficient.

Pros:
Makes good saves pretty much all the time, rarely fumbles the ball.
Always calm and collected, won't be making any rash saves which could lead to him being booked or sent off

Cons:
Weak on the near post, not quick enough to react

LB Iso Kutatzi, 17
Why, oh, why is Kutatzi still in defence? Angelo Gelinas probably sent the exact squad to the Cup of Harmony just for convenience. He simply isn't any good in defence, he should find a team and hone his skills further before having another shot at the national team.

Pros:
Very athletic player
Quite strong
Decent dribbling

Cons:
Someone needs to get this guy a defensive coach because he looks like he has no clue what's going on.
Subpar crossing, he will be dropped by the national team in favour of a left-back who actually fits the system.

CB Swisse Kadune, 16
Yet another player who is being played out of position. Swisse Kadune IS NOT a centre-back. He is not a ball-playing centre-back. He is, however, a central-midfielder. When will someone get it right?

Pros:
Excellent long and short passing, it's almost as if he belongs in the midfield...
Good dribbling for a midfielder-I mean centre-back
Decent ball-winning skills

Cons:
Clearly being a defender is an unnatural position for him
Too rash when tackling, often gives away fouls

CM Liga Koiu, 17
Liga Koiu is a very humble and down to earth player. She never lies, or dives, or complain to officials. She's a box to box player, able to play anywhere on the pitch albeit not for a long time.

Pros:
Elite at shots outside the box
Decent at set-pieces
Good ball-winning skills

Cons:
She needs some physical conditioning ASAP, by halftime she is absolutely exhausted
Not very athletic
It's a wonder how she is so good at long-range shooting, she has to wear sports goggles because she's practically blind without them

LW Jeiles Kriessmann, 16
Kriessmann has to play with Kizerain. Has to. Why? She does much better for the Riflemen when she plays alongside him. Her stats prove it as well; in all 10 games she has played in these qualifiers, 4 of her 5 goals and 3 of her 4 assists have come when she has played alongside Kizerain. The two are inseparable, so any team that drafts Kriessmann will also try to draft Kizerain as well and vice-versa to get the most out of them.

Pros:
Her signature cut inside and a shot off her right foot will probably be forever remembered as an iconic and effective move in Maccian
Quite good at finishing, could easily step in as a striker if needed
Toys around with defenders with her elite dribbling

Cons:
Has to have Kizerain playing alongside with her to get the best out of the pair
Has a tendency to overhit crosses, needs to improve on that
Any fight that Kizerain gets into, she gets into.

ST Eries Kizerain, 17
The son of the traitorous former leader Petchre Mackay, Kizerain was supposed to be killed off along with the rest of his half-siblings and his mother. But our merciful Supreme Leader allowed him to live, under the condition that he would put in the maximum effort into the team. At any time he could be the one that is called up to the gallows so any team that picks up Kizerain will expect a hard-working prospect and will hope he isn’t executed for slacking off.

Pros:
Able to finish in one-on-one situations with the keeper and remain composed while doing so.
His exemplary work ethic could lead to him becoming legendary if he keeps it up
He can confuse defenders with his arsenal of tricks and skills to beat them

Cons:
If the Supreme Leader believes that Kizerain is becoming complacent any team that drafts him could permanently lose out on a major talent, which may make teams reluctant to draft him
Long shots and volleys aren’t his forte, a somewhat limited striker
Extremely hotheaded, will more than likely pick up a few red cards in his rookie season
Will fight if provoked. Would be perfect with Sir Walter X who will be starting these fights for him.
Has to have Jeiles Kriessmann playing with him in order to get the best performances out of him

CM Missi Sorrentingerclausen, 17
She played in the Baptism of Fire 72 and was the captain of the Riflemen, yet her presence on the field was rarely feared. Soon after the Round of 32 exit to Konhead, she opted out of the team and enjoyed her newfound freedom. Like many players who decided to drop out of the squad, Sorrentingerclausen decided to declare for the draft. She can inspire players many years her senior so this is a quality many teams will be looking at.

Pros:
She is a set-piece specialist which will be appreciated on any team
Excellent leadership skills and can inspire practically anyone
Decent at putting together through balls and distributing the ball across the pitch

Cons:
Can disappear in some matches
Not the best at winning the ball, more of a playmaker than an all-around central midfielder

CM Mikkleargen Jamressl, 17
Jamressl is the type of player whose position is unclear. He could be a defender, midfielder and attacker all in one, but in each position, he has more negatives than positives. Hopefully, he can shake off the hate he received during the Baptism of Fire and finally prove his worth in the MFL through improving his faults

Pros:
Not bad at dribbling, has been known to go on runs
Able to win the ball back if he doesn’t foul the player
Okay short passing

Cons:
Disgusting shot selection, he should steer clear of shooting in general unless it’s a header or a tap-in
LImited passing range
Makes really stupid and reckless tackles
Gives the impression of a headless chicken on both defence and the counter-attack

LW Vilann Librastearpen, 17
Why did he leave the national team? He just didn't care enough and lost motivation to improve as a player. Librastearpen could have helped the national team greatly but instead, he chose the partying lifestyle. Now that he has come back to his senses, he'll be looking to improve himself as a player especially after his long hiatus from physical activity...

Pros:
Can still cross the ball quite well
Positionless offensive player. Teams would love to have such a versatile player

Cons:
He is a bit rusty even though there are glimpses of the player he was
Poor physical condition, it looks lie he has a beer belly
Can't run fast nor for a long time, real liability on offence
Vilann Librastearpen has dropped out of the draft class.

CB Regent Aryoirs, 16
Regent Aryoirs is likely declaring for the draft just to build up more followers on the Maccian state-run social media site LinkUp TV (don't know why the Supreme Leader chose that name, but who are we to question his decisions?) and is extremely obnoxious on that site. I won't blame teams for not wanting such a twat on their team, excuse my language.

Pros:
Brings a massive social media following with him, any team he goes to will probably have 3 million new fans buying his jersey, huge revenue stream.
Defensively aware at all times, always switched on.

Cons:
Remember what I said about his unlikeable character? If I was a manager, this guy isn't touching my squad. He'd turn the dressing room into an all-out wrestling match.
Dives and flops like a little girl with the slightest touch
Argues with everybody, could lead to a few fights if you mix in fighters and players who escalate any small situation.

LB Lelepons Fluer, 16
Lelepons Fluer is either loved or hated depending on who you ask. She is in form one day, then terrible the next. She has no problems one day, the next day she's two footing everyone wearing the opposition's jersey. She's constantly changing every day, a very weird player indeed...

Pros:
Aggressive, won't back down from opponents bigger than her
Good at ball-winning and interceptions
Dribbling is on point, it's a shame she can cross the ball very well
Decent short and long-range passing

Cons:
Frustrating as a player- so inconsistent with everything.
Not very good at crossing the ball

CB Trouz Vizalietd, 17
Trouz Vizalietd is a player you would want on your team. Passionate and hardcore, which resembles Maccians as a whole. He is a classical no-nonsense defender which is a quality a lot of teams would be looking at when considering drafting him

Pros:
Will not hesitate to put a foot in or slide tackle a 5'1" player like they have just spat on his grandmother's grave
When the ball arrives at his feet, get ready to duck because that ball is going into the stands
Bullies anyone who dares challenge him
Intimidating player

Cons:
Is way too aggressive, don't be surprised if he racks up bookings every single game
Often fouls players if he is on the wrong side of the ball, leads to dangerous free-kicks or penalties
Extremely unreliable when it comes to passing

CB Nícoloboiur Tilvovene, 17
Tilvovene was average in defence at the Baptism of Fire. Not much more can be said about him as a player but hopefully, he can come into a team and prove his worth.

Pros:
Rarely gets booked
Average at everything and could be a good roleplayer for a team

Cons:
Practically never in form
Doesn't excel at anything including heading or defending

RW Jane Air, 22
She is one of the Supreme Leader’s mistresses, so she will be held in the highest regards. It is honourable to grace the opportunity to be in such close and physical contact with one of the most attractive men in Maccian’s history. No one will make comments that do not flatter her, only do this if you want to be left hanging from a tree in Lein Square in New Aredia...

Pros:
Any opponent who fouls her is instantly sent off (basically corruption, my thoughts will be censored here but it had to be said) as they rightfully should for such a heinous act. Very advantageous for any team looking to pick her up.
Used to participate in the high jump in the MNAC- Maccian Nationwide Athletics Championships- and can rise above even the tallest defenders to engage in an aerial duel which she will win 9 times out of 10
She’s a crafty player, will do anything to win the game

Cons:
One of the more slower wingers in the draft class, but is mainly due to the wingers in this draft class being way too damn fast
Occasionally gets booked because she bends the rules to the absolute limit.

LB Benedict Dover-Gay, 23 AKA “BDG”
The most unfortunate name in history. Children, being as cruel as they are, will have certainly shortened his name to Ben. This man has gone through years of trauma from merciless bullying due to his name. I don’t know why he’d want to make a bigger name for himself, but I digress.

Pros:
He only slides tackles to tackle opponents, but damn if it doesn’t work most of the time!
His shot power is out of this world, goalkeepers quake in their boots when this man loads up his leg for an absolute rocket of a long shot
No-nonsense defender, he rarely makes defensive errors and can stop attacks dead in its tracks

Cons:
Due to being bullied for practically his whole life, any opponent who mocks his name will expect many incidents of aggression where The Big BDG will stamp it out, literally
Really unathletic, any team drafting him needs to make sure they get him in some kind of program

CB Loklana Solomon, 21
Female centre-backs are uncommon here in Maccian, with most females playing at the full-back position if they do play in defence. At 6’2”, Loklana Solomon will definitely be able to hold her own against a lot of players. Hopefully, she can have a long and prosperous career so that she can inspire many young girls who are told they can’t play centre-back because it is too physical for them.

Pros:
A very ambitious player and always performs to the best of her ability
Very reliable as a defender, rarely make blunders or errors
She is a strong header of the ball which will be very useful for set-pieces

Cons:
Critics may argue that male players will have a field day with her due to her lack of strength as a centre-half
Needs to put on some more weight, she is quite skinny
Has an issue with her ankle, it seems as though that area of her body is more prone to injury

LW Hiya Jiajoto, 14
Hiya Jiajoto is the youngest player in this draft at just 14 years old. Should she even be eligible for the draft? Probably not. But if you have already gotten a Physics Master’s Degree at the age of 12, naturally you are going to get bored in life and try out more fun things. Is she any good? Well, she’s decent but she sure is smart as hell!

Pros:
She can run for 90 minutes without breaking a sweat, she has insane stamina which could get even better considering the fact she’s only 14 years old
It seems as if the ball is glued to her feet when she dribbles
One of the smartest people in Maccian, she will be a master tactician as she progresses in her career

Cons:
Like Eztelle Zeyla, Hiya Jiajoto is as weak as a twig. At 5’2”, she will likely be on the diminutive side so she must evolve her game to compensate for her lack of height and strength
Has to change away from her the rest of her team due to child protection laws, seeing as 16 is considered an adult in Maccian.
Not a great scorer, but can finish occasionally.

ST: Pop Greenman, 18
The man, the myth, the legend. A meme circulated around the city of Castrealm in the state of Pen Dors about him taking 23 shots in the Pen Dors State Championship Semi-Finals and with only one of them being on-target, an easily saveable shot. His team would go on to lose to a goal in the last minute of the match, with Pop Greenman being seen as a clown. The worst team in the league may go for the worst player in the draft class with their number 1 pick, typical of Castrealmers…

Pros:
Good at being a target man and can pass the ball to more pacey players
Good at heading the ball into the net
Strong as a bull

Cons:
Painfully slow
Has a non-existent first touch
An unreliable finisher, hit-or-miss most of the time.
A little bit, how can I put this, noticeably plump around the midsection

RB Sir Walter X, 20 AKA “The Royal Roadman”
Sir Walter X hasn’t been knighted, by the way, he got his name changed like a week ago. He has released numerous drill videos which have gathered over 4.49 million views on PowerHou5e which contain very disturbing lyrics. “Grab up an opps’ neck, hang him up on the gallows and make sure the drop is shallow, leave my man hanging there, I guess you could say he won that game of hangman” is just one example of these terrible lyrics, both literally and figuratively. He is a very antagonistic full-back who pretty much taunts opposition players all game and throws them off their game. Let’s hope he won’t “shank” one of his “opps”.

Pros:
Gets inside player’s heads very easily and throws them off their game, can happen to even the strongest willed of individuals.
Plays football like it’s rugby, insanely strong and uses his physicality all the time
Because of his lyrics on his drill songs, players may buy into the facade that he is an extremely threatening individual and will be reluctant to press or tackle him for fear of retaliation

Cons:
Will start all the fights and will be perfect alongside Kizerain who will certainly end them
Never switches off the aggression, plays football a little bit too much like rugby
Will insult the referees if he doesn’t agree with a decision they made
A very hostile player who causes and stirs up all the drama

CM Jessie Calinnflores, 21 AKA “The Cobra”
Jessie Calinnflores isn’t known in Maccian for her football skills, which are slept on. We’ve all seen the video, but foreigners will have never heard of her. The opposing teams facing her team will be very distracted but she gets players in a trance-like state and then launches quick-fire counter-attacks. She’s not called “The Cobra” for nothing!

Pros:
A real head turner, but uses this to her advantage whether it’s winning the ball from them, beating them as they look on in, er, admiration? Or making a quick through ball to teammates.
Amazing football IQ as she knows when to make runs, the best player to pass to in any situation, the best shot to take and how best to counter a team’s tactics
A smart decision for any team to pick up profit-wise as her jersey sales will go through the roof and every match she plays in, a sold-out match is pretty much guaranteed.
Tenacious ball winner, quite a good box-to-box midfielder

Cons:
A controversial figure, parents may not want their children attending her games
Only 5’1”, she will be bullied around a lot by opposition players
Relies on her passing, ball-winning and football IQ because she isn’t the most athletic player.

LB: Rasheed Malaukkokenendy, 19
No one really knows this guy. He plays at the left-back position. He’s 19. He’s from Zapster, Wavefire. He’s around 6’0”. That’s the full extent of my knowledge on this guy, let’s see how’ll he’ll get on.

Pros:
Is listed as a left-back so can’t be too bad at defending, crossing, dribbling and passing, right?
He is 6’0” so may be able to head the ball

Cons:
Might be bad at defending, crossing, dribbling and passing.

CB Kenny Sant-Peterro, 23
Towering over players at an immense 6’9”(who, by the way, isn’t even the tallest player in the draft) Kenny Saint-Peterro is more suited to playing basketball rather than football. To be honest, he should be down low against another power forward, trying to post them up rather than sticking out like a giraffe in a dazzle of zebras. Will his body hold up with football being well known for its physicality?

Pros:
Very, very, very tall. Every corner-kick should target him for an easy header and will be able to head the ball away in dangerous situations
Due to his immense size at 245lbs, he can literally squash attacking players like a bug

Cons:
Has recurring knee injuries which are concerning for any team looking to draft this goliath
Will probably be injured for the large majority of his career, he is too tall to play football
Clumsy due to not knowing the full extents of his strength will likely give away free-kicks and penalties just through putting a foot in
Slower than even Pop Greenman and probably moves 2 metres every millennium

With the draft coming up so quickly, only a handful of scouts from around the league may have seen each of these foreign players. Their playstyles are relatively unknown to most teams so many could be reluctant to draft these foreign players. We’ll just have to wait and see on draft night.

ST Tikal Lee,18 from Kita Hinode
Tikal Lee was born in the Hinodejin Colony of Sunakawama and played the past three seasons as a migrant player between the colonial leagues, defending Marionette Korima (Sunakawama), So-Sweet Otama (Kanadanode) and her last club so far Keru Lupinotes (Karinode). It is said that she wants to join an international league so she can have a shot at the Hinodejin national team. Which team will take their chances with her?

Pros:
According to scouts from the Singlewave Surf, she is a mobile forward who gives defenders trouble every time the ball is at her feet.
She is arguably one of the most clinical finishers in the draft, rivalling Amiensha Kiyle and Jake Sexter
She has a scary combination of blistering speed and incredible stamina, meaning she’s a threat for all 90 minutes, the defence cannot let up at any moment

Cons:
Not much is known about her considering the fact that only one team scouted her, so any team that drafts her will find out her weaknesses when she arrives at the team.

LM/CAM Adam Weiss, 18 from South Newlandia
Adam Weiss could have applied his trade to other leagues but chose the MFL because our gracious Supreme Leader has provided the league with enough funding to entice more foreign players. It is clear that Adam Weiss is going abroad for the money, but honestly who can blame him? He may have a family back home that are dependent on the money he receives, so who are we to judge?

Pros:
His flair will dazzle the crowd, along with being left-footed which is a rarity in Maccian
Passionate about the game, whatever team he plays for, just know he will give his all for the team
Average at most aspects of the game, not a standout player.

Cons:
Sometimes too aggressive and does get booked could get sent off if he doesn’t tone it down.
Many teams may question where his loyalties lie. Could he be a money-grabbing foreigner who will ditch the MFL as soon as possible for more money? Only time will tell

RB Miri Belli, 21 from The Jovannic
Miri Belli has been capped 21 times for The Jovannic and is the starting right-back for the national team. Miri Belli is reportedly not doing too well in the qualifiers as of writing, but perhaps he can turn around his misfortune.

Pros:
Quite speedy as a full-back will be hard to catch on offence, but will have no problem clamping down on wingers thinking they can outpace him
Has an eye for through passes which will be a useful asset for any team looking for innovative wingers.

Cons:

May make rash decisions, but this will get better with both age and more experience playing in matches.
His form could just continue slumping for both club and country, but is ultimately here to prove the critics wrong

CAM Daniel Gonzalez, 17 from Northwest Kalactin
Daniel Gonzalez is a 17-year-old from Northwest Kalactin who sought to come to Maccian to draw some attention to his abilities. He is 5’9” and 160lbs, or 73 kg and will be looking to impress off the bench and possibly even starting

Pros:
Good football IQ and knows the ins and outs of the game quite well for a player of his age
Had decent athleticism

Cons:
Not very skilled as a player
Won’t be expected to start right away as he isn’t very impactful on the pitch, it would be best to have him come on as a substitute or as a rotation player

ST Johnny Brewer, 20 from Xanneria
Not much is known about Johnny Brewer apart from the fact that he is from the University of Upper Plymouth, which is presumably in Xanneria. Teams will be taking a gamble drafting him due to not knowing his playstyle

Pros:
Extremely aggressive and resilient. He won’t back down from a challenge and will go full steam ahead

Con:
Due to being very aggressive, he will be booked or even sent off quite a lot.

LB Evin Ozen, 19 from Busoga Islands
Evin Ozen is on the reserve list for the Busoga Islands national team, so it is safe to say that she is a promising young player who’s looking to ply her trade here to potentially get into the national team.

Pros:
Pacey player, gets up and down the field rather quickly whether on or defending a counter-attack
Great stamina and along with her pace it makes her a threat for the whole game

Cons:
There are concerns she is too reliant on pace, which could work against her in the back end of her career.
Her biggest weakness is pure strength- she is somebody who can fairly easily get muscled off the ball.

CDM Lucie Shanahan, 18 from Baker Park
Lucie Shanahan is seen as one of the promising young defensive midfielders coming through in the FAC Development Scheme. Played on the SWC 9 U18 Championship squad, which was the second of her three campaigns with that team. A graduate of Samuel Taylor Coleridge High School in Hamilton, she was a unanimous selection to the Baker Park SSIAA Southern Regional All-Star Team three years in a row and named to the First All-Star Team statewide as a junior & senior. She only needs some experience playing in longer seasons, which she is hopefully strong enough to handle.

Pros:
Lucie is quite the physical player, it will be interesting to see how far her physicality can take her
Excellent ball winner and good with the ball in her feet- it is a shame that she is only 5’9” and 140lbs because she would be a major contributor to any team as a centre-back if she was taller and more built
Able to shield the defence or cover for an attacking midfielder, she does all the team’s dirty work very efficiently

Cons:
Lacks pace, could be blown by faster opposition players
Surprisingly pedestrian as a crosser or long passer, this along with her pace pretty much eliminates any chances of her playing as a full-back or even in defence in general

GK Shelby Hackett, 20 from Drawkland
Shelby has always had a good instinct for goalkeeping and was a clear standout player in the kids leagues. As she transitioned into high school, her play quickly advanced, and her parents hired a personal trainer to develop her skills further than her coaches at Madrena High School could manage. Shelby wasn't interested in playing in the collegiate system in Drawkland so decided she would declare for the MFL draft as no Drawkian club would pick her up straight out of high school. If a team is going to draft a goalkeeper, they would be foolish to snub a 7’6 giant who will likely be playing for a long time considering the fact that Drawkians have longer lifespans compared to Maccians.

Pros:
Good athleticism, able to leap and extend well. It will be borderline unfair for teams that have to go up against her.
She is used to a smaller defensive line as Drawkian formations are very offence-heavy, so will likely have an easier time with a larger defence
Drawkians are about 7'5" on average, Shelby is 7'6", so she'll be comparatively massive in the goal to the rest of the team.
She is fiercely motivated and eager to please her team in any way possible
Will probably be picked by the 5th pick at the latest, shows a tremendous amount of potential

Cons:
She is still young and used to being the superstar of her team, will probably not be used to being a role player
Drawkian officials are much more lax about physicality, so what she thinks is fine may be subject to yellow cards or even red cards in a more "normal" league. She will have to be cautious when rushing out to meet an attacker one-on-one
A bit too cocky, may lead to her making silly decisions but this will get better with age.

ST Oxolt-Belaj Cuf, 16 from Qusmo

Pros:
- Has plenty of pace
- Great passing in the build-up

Cons:
- Very poor at set-pieces
- Needs more work with their finishing to be truly effective

Qusmo has volunteered Oxlot-Belaj Cuf for the draft after seeing Libbrastearpen drop out. He has taken his place and will be drafted in the second round of the MFL Draft

The 2034 MFL Draft will soon be underway. Stay tuned folks, and we'll turn our attention to the Castrealm Royals who will start off this draft!

2034 MFL Draft

Micheal Goated of SBN News will be here commentating on the first round of the draft as it goes along. This is on behalf of SBN News, not the televised draft.

First Round

MFL Commissioner Callum Allen:Welcome to the Inaugural 2034 MFL Draft! Let's get this started.

Callum Allen: With the first pick of the MFL Draft, the Castrealm Royals select...
Jake Sexter!

Micheal Goated: No surprise here, arguably the most talented player with the highest ceiling in this draft class. Sexter will elevate the Castrealm Royals from being a terrible team to an alright one... he can't do it all by himself though, he's going to need some help!

Callum Allen: With the second pick of the MFL Draft, the Kaylein Psychics select...
Amiensha Kiyle!

Micheal Goated: Excellent choice by the Psychics right here, they need a reliable and consistent goal scorer, and now they have that player. The creative burden has been lifted off of Morkonkellblitz and Wessex as they now have another player who can create scoring opportunities. Expect more goals to be scored

Callum Allen: With the third pick of the MFL Draft, the Zimmerstads Diamonds select...
Evin Ozen from Busoga Islands!

Micheal Goated: I got to admit, I'm a little bit surprised. But when you analyse this decision, this selection is a very good one. Ian Match is retiring at the end of the season and is 39 years old, practically a skeleton in football standards. Although Ozen plays on the left, I am sure she can adapt to playing right-back for the Diamonds.

Callum Allen: With the fourth pick of the MFL Draft, the Azure Flutes select...
Tikal Lee from Kita Hinode!

Micheal Goated: The Flutes have not one but two ageing strikers who are probably going to retire either this season or the next. The Flutes definitely didn't scout Lee so they're going in blind with this selection not knowing her weaknesses. But according to scouts from the Singlewave Surf, she is a relentless striker who will punish defences for making even the most minor of offences. I can't wait to see how she gets on!

Callum Allen: With the fifth pick of the MFL Draft, the New Nashzur Nymphs select...
Jessie Calinnflores!

Micheal Goated: Miara Khalifa is 36 and is retiring this season while Stormy Daniel still has at least 2 more years left in her, which gives the Nymphs a lot of time to find an attacking-midfielder. Calinnflores will most likely be played in the CAM position and is already a popular player. And she went to the Nymphs, a team which has been getting a lot of popularity for their promising squad? Good decision by Angela White.

Callum Allen: With the sixth pick of the MFL Draft, the Jetix No Will Enforcers select...
Lucie Shanahan from Baker Park!

Micheal Goated With a lot of these picks, the priority seems to be getting a replacement for older players. Anderomedas Mekkalirgogentadze is not the same player as he was 10 years before Maccian even became a nation. The Enforcers need a central defensive midfielder who can accompany Husjidin and do all the teams dirty work. Lucie Shanahan is your person for the job.

Callum Allen: With the seventh pick of the MFL Draft, the Togekisst Soar select...
Eries Kizerain!

Micheal Goated Jaxson Sanya has been injured for like a quarter of his career. WIth Rammar and Nicodemo ageing and just simply being horrible strikers. A young striker to pair up with Krepz is necessary for the Soar to compete with other teams for a spot in the playoffs.

Callum Allen: With the eighth pick of the MFL Draft, the Singlewave Surf select...
Sir Walter X!

Micheal Goated: The Surf has been known for being too soft on defence. Jarlania was been exposed for the fraud at full-back he is last season as the Surf allowed the second-highest amount of goals, only behind the Regenpluie Soul. Sir Walter X is an antagonistic twat which is actually needed so much at Singlewave, a player who is not afraid to get stuck in and do anything for the team.

Callum Allen: With the ninth pick of the MFL Draft, the Fuertzampf Wildfires select...
Miri Belli from The Jovannic!

Micheal Goated: During the World Cup 85 Qualifiers, there were concerns that Belli's form would just continue slumping. The Wildfires need a wingback who can run up and down the field with blistering pace, either to try and cross the ball or clamp down on the opposition's wingers. Let's hope he can turn around his misfortune.

Callum Allen: With the tenth pick of the MFL Draft, the Zapster Thunder select...
Shelby Hackett from Drawkland!

Micheal Goated: Heiko Miluelid will probably be sent on a long term loan because Shelby Hackett will be going straight in between the sticks as the number 1. She is 7'6". The tallest player in Maccian is 7'2", and he's a basketball player! I can't even put it into words how excited I am for Shelby so let's hope she doesn't disappoint.

Callum Allen: With the eleventh pick of the MFL Draft, the Ramafluora Bloom select...
Angelina Aurellix!

Micheal Goated: The Bloom is a young team who could be a powerhouse in 3-4 years. With Aurellix, they will be looking to finish in a playoff spot with AUrellix being the spearhead of the team.

Callum Allen: With the twelfth pick of the MFL Draft, the Skew Euld Ren Sinners select...
Benedict Dover-Gay!

Micheal Goated: The Sinners look very threatening this season with Maya Solo, Katie Vast-Skauer, Emgee Kolvert, Marcus Yama and Zakir Dakkar. Unker Molláh should have retired last season, but instead, he is allowed to start. Although BDG plays on the left, like Evin Ozen, he can be converted into a right wing-back and push Molláh out of the starting 11 and into retirement.

Callum Allen: With the thirteenth pick of the MFL Draft, Keva Rogianel 09 select...
Adam Weiss from South Newlandia!

Micheal Goated: So what if Adam Weiss is a bit money-hungry? Aren't we all? Keva Rogianel 09 desperately need another attacking-midfielder to pair up with Reiktu Sien Brogue and now they have it. We need more passionate players like Adam Weiss in football, hell if the Maccian national team had half of Weiss' work ethic, we would be in the World Cup by now!

Callum Allen: With the fourteenth pick of the MFL Draft, The Moskovey Blizzards select...
Pop Greenman!

Micheal Goated: Holy fucking shit! Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new Clown of the Year winner. With the first pick of the 2034 L Draft, the Major L selects... The Moskovey Blizzards! Seriously? You had a plethora of options and you choose this fat, slow, non-first touch having shitty finisher? I have no sympathy for the Blizzards, they have pretty much guaranteed a bottom of the league finish. Victoria Kamera needs to be put in a care home!

Callum Allen: With the fifteenth pick of the MFL Draft, the Kesha Mystics select...
Lolklana Solomon!
Wait...We have a trade announcement. The Blizzards have traded Pop Greenman, Zoya Orlova and Art Óbroin for the Kesha Mystics' Loklana Solomon, Luna Agaia and Xianpin Hoverse.

Micheal Goated: The Blizzards now have a much-needed centre-back in Solomon and the Mystics now have a backup striker that can be used in only the direst of situations. Zoya Orlova is a talented young midfielder and Luna Agaia is another promising full-back. It's a win for both teams, somehow the Blizzards saved themselves here!

Callum Allen: With the sixteenth pick of the MFL Draft, the Regenpluie Soul select...
Johnny Brewer from Xanneria!

Micheal Goated: Susan Graplanetthopperlfen was recently arrested for leading an illegal protest against our rightful overlords. She'll most likely be dead by the start of the season, so the Soul capitalised on this and acquired an aggressive striker who won't take any nonsense from anyone and will is gung-ho on offence. Not much is known about his playstyle, but we'll soon find that out.

Callum Allen: With the seventeenth pick of the MFL Draft, the Retutenninst Storm select...
Hiya Jiajoto!

Micheal Goated: Hiya Jiajoto is a young player even by Maccian's standards. Her 14th birthday was only 39 days ago and yet she already has a Physics Master's Degree. I think because of her age the Storm will be playing her off the bench, but what were you and I doing at 14?

Callum Allen: With the eighteenth pick of the MFL Draft, the Jozytiannemen Square Rifles select...
Jane Air!

Micheal Goated: Ultimate power move by the Rifles. Magnificent at leaping into the air. Loads of headers and overhead kicks are to be expected. The Supreme Leader will be pleased, no pun intended!

Callum Allen: With the nineteenth pick of the MFL Draft, the Oberblasten Providence select...
Daniel Gonzalez from Northwest Kalactin!

Micheal Goated: The Oberblasten Providence will more than likely make the playoffs, so they needed a smart offensive player who can play pretty much play on the wings, as a central attacking midfielder, as a centre-forward or even a striker. He won't be displacing the likes of Zujaierder or Yeşimmov and will likely be coming off the bench but I think this is a smart decision by Adelina Nukeman

Callum Allen: And finally, with the twentieth pick of the MFL Draft, the Mortvivant Ghosts select...
Eztelle Zeyla!

Micheal Goated: This season is already over. The Ghosts won the title last year with their star-studded team, and now you want to add Zeyla, the 'Swiss Knife'? Forget it. With the Ghosts' resources, they can hopefully get Zeyla on a diet to beef her up. Imagine a strong Zeyla? The whole league will have to be shut down because she would be running everything! Offence, defence, passing, dribbling, set-pieces- you want it, she's got it.

Wait.. this just in:

Vilann LIbrastearpen has dropped out of the MFL draft for "personal reasons". Good riddance, because now Qusmo has volunteered Oxlot-Belaj Cuf for the draft. He has taken Librastearpens place and will be drafted in the second round of the MFL Draft by a team. This day keeps getting better and better!

Callum Allen: That concludes the first round of the 2034 MFL Draft. The second round will be commenced soon after this break.

2034 MFL Draft

Micheal Goated of SBN News will be here commentating on the second round of the draft as it goes along. This is on behalf of SBN News, not the televised draft.

OOC: This occurs after a short break after announcing the first round of the draft.

Second Round

MFL Commissioner Callum Allen:Hello folks, and welcome to the second round of the Inaugural 2034 MFL Draft!

Callum Allen: With the twenty-first pick of the MFL Draft, the Castrealm Royals select...
Missi Sorrentingerclasen!

Micheal Goated: Jake Sexter now has another competent albeit inconsistent footballer! They will definitely be carrying the team together because Lizzy Green just seems to always be injured for some reason.

Callum Allen: With the twenty-second pick of the MFL Draft, the Kaylein Psychics select...
Espede Luftboltzen!

Micheal Goated: Everyone here is shocked that Luftboltzen fell this far into the draft, too only be picked up in the second round. However, the Psychics will be delighted as now they have both Luftbozten and Kiyle and are pretty much an offensive powerhouse now.

Callum Allen: With the twenty-third pick of the MFL Draft, the Zimmerstads Diamonds select...
Jeiles Kriessman!

Micheal Goated: No Kizerain and Kriessman pair-up this season. Still, she can bring a lot to the Diamonds without him but it will be interesting to see how she performs.

Callum Allen: With the twenty-fourth pick of the MFL Draft, the Azure Flutes select...
Oxolt-Belaj Cuf from Qusmo!

Micheal Goated: Cuf barely got into the draft by the skin of his teeth. With Vilann Librastearpen deciding to drop out of the draft class, Oxolt-Belaj Cuf snuck into the draft class and will be an integral part in the Flutes squad. Talk about luck!

Callum Allen: With the twenty-fifth pick of the MFL Draft, the New Nashzur Nymphs select...
Rasheed Malaukkokenendy!

Micheal Goated: Sofia Rosa is not getting any younger at 33 years old and has poor stamina, so Malaukkokenendy will be at least a decent roleplayer. Although his skill set and ability are relatively unknown. This is quite the gamble if it was legal here in Maccian...

Callum Allen: With the twenty-sixth pick of the MFL Draft, the Jetix No Will Enforcers select...
Lelepons Fluer!

Micheal Goated Yet again, this is a pick to deal with the ageing squad the Enforcers have. Fluer is incredibly inconsistent, but could that change here in Jetix No Will

Callum Allen: With the twenty-seventh pick of the MFL Draft, the Togekisst Soar select...
Resaiix Stzasner!

Micheal Goated A ball-playing centre-back is much needed here in Togekisst. Stzasner is the Soar's answer and they will probably get him on a program to gain some muscle.

Callum Allen: With the twenty-eighth pick of the MFL Draft, the Singlewave Surf select...
Nines Rükommpt!

Micheal Goated: Now this could be the steal of the draft here. Nines Rükommpt is quite solid defensively which will certainly help their leaky defence. Now the Surf can utilise a player that is good at ball distribution and is creative.

Callum Allen: With the twenty-ninth pick of the MFL Draft, the Fuertzampf Wildfires select...
Nícoloboiur Tilvovene !

Micheal Goated: Not much to be said here. The Wildfires got a centre-back to further strengthen the backline. I hope he finds his form in Fuertzampf.

Callum Allen: With the thirtieth pick of the MFL Draft, the Zapster Thunder select...
Trouz Vizalietd

Micheal Goated: Good pick. A young centre-back who can learn from older veterans in the Thunder and develop as a no-nonsense centre back.

Callum Allen: With the thirty-first pick of the MFL Draft, the Ramafluora Bloom select...
Roma Senozen!

Micheal Goated: Hellena Dwor is a mistake-prone goalkeeper that either can't keep his legs shut or the ball in his hands. Now the Bloom has a competent goalkeeper in Senozen.

Callum Allen: With the thirty-second pick of the MFL Draft, the Skew Euld Ren Sinners select...
Rodrup Yimello!

Micheal Goated: Hal Gorford Bramas is way too old to be a goalkeeper, and Olinka Marliza needs more development time. Yimello will probably be looking to take the number 1 from Hal Gorford Bramas' younger brother, John Bramas.

Callum Allen: With the thirty-third pick of the MFL Draft, Keva Rogianel 09 select...
Kiylen Drowska

Micheal Goated: Keva Rogianel 09 needs more creative midfielders who are able to make a quick pass in a 3-v2 situation.

Callum Allen: With the thirty-fourth pick of the MFL Draft, The Moskovey Blizzards select...
Vorspiell Zoren!

Micheal Goated: Vorspiell Zoren is a defensive liability but with an ageing defence that isn't getting any younger, you can't really fault them as Zoren could improve under Kamera's lead.

Callum Allen: With the thirty-fifth pick of the MFL Draft, the Kesha Mystics select...
Kenny Sant Peterro

Micheal Goated: The 6'9" giant has been selected. I can see him being a good squad rotational player so let's hope his knees keep up.

Callum Allen: With the thirty-sixth pick of the MFL Draft, the Regenpluie Soul select...
Liga Koiu!

Micheal Goated: Koiu can do it all and has the passion and drive for success that the Soul are looking for in a player

Callum Allen: With the thirty-seventh pick of the MFL Draft, the Retutenninst Storm select...
Regent Aryoirs!

Micheal Goated: *Sighs* Between Jamressl and Kutatzi, it seems the Storm just picked the lesser evil of the three.

Callum Allen: With the thirty-eighth pick of the MFL Draft, the Jozytiannemen Square Rifles select...
Iso Kutatzi

Micheal Goated: Maybe the Rifles can transition Kutatzi from a defender to another position or develop his defensive skills. He should be far away from a Maccian National Team until he is good enough to make the squad.

Callum Allen: With the thirty-ninth pick of the MFL Draft, the Oberblasten Providence select...
Mikkleargen Jamressl!

Micheal Goated: I can't talk about this guy. I'm still haunted by the Baptism of Fire...

Callum Allen: And finally, with the fortieth pick of the MFL Draft, the Mortvivant Ghosts select...
Swisse Kadune!

Micheal Goated: Swisse Kadune was taken by any team until now? I thought the draft was over with Jamressl! Oh well, Kadune will surely lead the Ghosts to another championship!

Callum Allen: That concludes the 2034 MFL Draft. Congratulations to all the drafted players, and we'll see you all when the season begins. Take care!

2033/34 MFL Season Finally Commences!

Today the MFL season finally kicked off with all 20 teams playing today. The Mortvivant Ghosts are favourites to win the MFL but remember, the season isn't finished when all 38 games of the regular season are played. Instead, the top 8 teams in the MFL will be seeded based off of their finish in the league and will undergo the MFL Playoffs to crown the MFL champions in the postseason. For example, if the Mortvivant Ghosts were 1st in the league and the Zimmerstads Diamonds were 8th in the league, this two would be playing each other.

This will follow with the 2nd and 7th teams playing each other, the 3rd and 6th teams, and the 4th and 5th ranked teams. There will be two legs to play, but if both teams haven't won them they will be required to play in extra-time. If they were to fail to score and win the game in extra-time, then the game will go to penalties.

Oh, and did I forget to mention the awards that will be given out at the end of the season? Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and Most Improved Player of the Year will be individual awards that the best players of each category will receive. There will also be awards for players who have been performing well enough in the season but unable to win the individual awards. These players will be in the Team of the Year, Rookie Team of the Year and Most Improved Team of the Year.

Without further ado, let's get right into today's results!

Matchday 1:

Mortvivant Ghosts 0–1 Castrealm Royals

The defending champions succumbed to the worst team in the MFL last season thanks to Missi Sorrentingerclausen's free-kick late into the second half. The hyped youngster Jake Sexter also performed relatively well in his debut for the club. Zeyla and Kadune who are both midfielders in the national team couldn't really connect together as the midfield was noticeably sloppy.

Kesha Mystics 1–0 Regenpluie Soul

The Mystics possessed the Soul (pun intended) as they controlled the game thanks to the new addition of Orlova who was running rampant in the midfield. She was creating chance after chance as well as doing the defensive dirty work on defence. Amelia Ari's volley was deflected into the goal by Liga Koiu who was absolutely gutted she cost her team the match.

New Nashzur Nymphs 1–0 Ramafluora Bloom

Jessie Calinnflores is another rookie who performed well today as 'The Cobra' bagged herself a goal after leaving the defence in a trance as if they were stunned at her beauty and then promptly slotted the ball in the goal. Pretty weird if you ask me... Moving on to more concerning news, more so for Angelo Gelinas, Angelina Aurellix tore her ACL after she landed awkwardly from an attempted header. With the AOCAF coming up soon, Gelinas will no doubt be fuming that he has lost a star player as she will likely recover just before the end of the season

Togekisst Soar 1–2 Fuertzampf Wildfires

Continuing on with the rookies bagging themselves goals, a surprising Miri Belli long-shot stunned the Soar's defence just before half time. However, Trip Zakaev's strategic substitution of Jaxon Sanya led to Togekisst immediately levelling the game up after Razzmatazz Barracuda had a lapse in concentration. Prima Velacity sealed the victory for the Wildfires in the 86th minute, but Kizerain had a chance to equalise in the dying moments of the game but hit the crossbar.

Skew Euld Ren Sinners 2–0 Moskovey Blizzards

Maya Solo and Katia Vast-Skauer finished the Blizzards off in the first half. It seems that Loklana Solomon and Luna Agaia could be the base for a prosperous Moskovey defence but the duo still has a long way to go.

Kaylein Psychics 2–3 Zapster Thunder

This is what happens when two players have to carry a team. Kiyle and Luftboltzen, the best players on their team by far. The duo scored inside 4 minutes to give the Psychics a strong lead. However, the flimsy defence blew a 2-0 lead as Kendell Keia scored a hat-trick to defeat the Psychics. Kiyle and Luftboltzen may be fed up already with their teams. I can't blame them...

Jetix No Will Enforcers 2–1 Oberblasten Providence

Olekeod Husjidin set a record for the fastest scored goal as he took a long shot inside just 12 seconds to give Jetix No Will the lead. Their lead was then doubled after Candence Chance headed the ball past Yasmin Finley from a corner. Nukeman's screams at her players could be heard by the crowd. Kaira D'Amore scored a rather peculiar goal as she tried to cross the ball to her teammates in the box but it curled into the goal.

Jozytiannamen Square Rifles 1–0 Keva Rogianel 09

One of the most boring matches we have ever seen. Jane Air's heel-flick pass which nutmegged Niko Ackermann set up Tasnim Erika Nieles who thumped the ball into the back of the net. Apart from that, not much else to say. Reiktu Sien Brogue, Kiylen Drowska and Adam Weiss could turn out to be a menacing midfield if only they had a faster striker who can finish.

Retutenninst Storm 2–1 Zimmerstads Diamonds

Evin Ozen's crossed the ball to Jeiles Kriessmann who volleyed the ball into the top right corner to give the Diamonds the lead in a spectacular fashion. But Hiya Jiajoto was the star of the game as she netted a brace for Retutenninst. And she's just 14! This looks very bizarre to foreigners tuning in, I know, but the age at which a Maccian becomes an adult is 16.

Azure Flutes 1–1 Singlewave Surf

The only teams today who shared points. The match was fairly eventful but both teams clearly didn't bring their finishing boots along. Evelina Cardenazhorst scored to break the deadlock as a Singlewave victory seemed certain. Tikal Lee received a through ball and was one-on-one with the keeper when Sir Walter X stamped on her ankle. He was sent straight off for the horrible challenge. The young striker from Hinode stepped up to take the penalty and calmly slid the ball into the bottom right corner. The Surf attempted to do a quick kickoff to try and score another goal but soon after the ball was kicked, the referee blew for full time.

It has been reported that the usual suspects for the national team will NOT be playing in the upcoming AOCAF. Angelo Gelinas has given out a statement to the press to explain the reasoning behind this decision.

"Ever since my outburst in the Cup of Harmony match against Delaclava, I have been studying tapes of all 23 players performing in the World Cup 85 Qualifiers and Cup of Harmony and I can say with certainty that there needs to be some big changes in the Maccian National Team in order for us to be successful in the future. I am just going to be blunt with this: some players are simply not good enough to compete internationally and do not fit the system I used since I came into this job. Thankfully the MFL has started which has allowed the Maccian National Team scouts to go to every single game that will be played and observe players that both fit into our style of football and players who are good enough to play for this nation. This is why I have taken the decision to have a completely new team with players I have identified who could potentially replace some of the current National Team players. For now, my scouts will be at every MFL game scouting for ideal players. Thank you, that will be all," said Angelo Gelinas.

The Skew Euld Ren Sinners, Zapster Thunder and Ramafluora Bloom have decided to sell a surplus goalkeeper and sign other players according to the team's needs. More on this later...

Transfer News!

The Ramafluroa Bloom has picked up the former free agent Nostirbun Hortelaungun. Hortelaungun is 21-year-old RB from Ko-oren who will certainly be starting for Ramafluora. Here's what Ni Fue Flower, manager of the Ramafluora Bloom had to say:

"It's about time we shake the typical Maccian attitude of 'Only Strong Maccians Needed' and acknowledge that we aren't always the best people for the job. This kind of view is er, almost xenophobic as you're assuming they are no foreigners who are suitable for the job. Hortelaungun came from Mayara Mezkuloren Academy in Ko-oren, a nation which has a significantly better infrastructure for football and is just plain and simply better. I hope Hortelaungun can come in and dispel rumours that everything is for Maccians only. The sooner we start opening up internationally, the better!"

The Skew Euld Ren Sinners have also announced that they have signed the free-agent Jessie Regnier, an 18-year-old striker from Eastfield Lodge. She formerly played for Paddockia YFC but somehow found herself without a club. It is said that she is excellent at long throws which may be useful for the Sinners. Also, she is superbly good at heading, which will allow Jim Show and BDG to swing balls into the box.

The Zapster Thunder have sold Florian Zinna (rather regrettably, we won't forget that Round of 32 Konhead!) to FC Kohnface City for a fee of $ 1.1 million-or £1.7 million. At least Zinna will be starting for a team, a player like him deserves this move!

It has been reported that Kamgang Kamgang of Sporting Rigerata United, a team based in Darmen, has signed with the Zapster Thunder for a fee of $1.6 million or £2.5 million here in Maccian. The Confederate has displayed impressive accuracy on crosses and long shots to this point, which should be a good fit for the Thunder. Oh and by the way, Kamgang is from the Squornshelan Remnant States, Confederate is just a demonym!

It seems as though the Jozytiannemen Square Rifles will be undergoing a name change after King Timofeé I has announced he will be renaming Jozytiannmen Square, formerly Audoti, as allegations of the late Jozy Dembele participating in modern slavery has come to light. Maccians are torn between renaming Jozytiannemen Square back to Audoti or renaming it to Goldenrod City.

'Audoti' in Maccian literally means lightning so it wouldn't really make sense to those of you outside Maccian. Before Maccian became a unified nation, it was fragmented into many different city-states and kingdoms. The Province of Bisonua was the battleground between East and West Bisonua, but as their armies were about to fight each other, a lightning strike came down right in the middle. East and West Bisonuans both realised that they were better off united than divided. Bisnuans settled the area around the lightning strike, which was almost entirely inside the biggest forest in Maccian, Dottia. Hence, the city of Audoti was founded. Goldenrod City is the anglicised name of the city and many South Torontons in Audoti want the name. But a lot of Bisonuans here want Audoti. Stay tuned for more updates

Matchdays 2-10

Matchday 2:

Castrealm Royals 1–1 Singlewave Surf
Zimmerstads Diamonds 2–6 Azure Flutes
Keva Rogianel 09 0–1 Retutenninst Storm
Oberblasten Providence 5–4 Jozytiannamen Square Rifles
Zapster Thunder 0–1 Jetix No Will Enforcers
Moskovey Blizzards 1–0 Kaylein Psychics
Fuertzampf Wildfires 1–0 Skew Euld Ren Sinners
Ramafluora Bloom 4–1 Togekisst Soar
Regenpluie Soul 0–0 New Nashzur Nymphs
Mortvivant Ghosts 1–1 Kesha Mystics

The second matchday saw many teams with narrow 1-0 victories, but the talk of the day was the Azure Flutes dismantling the Zimmerstads Diamonds by an impressive scoreline of 6-2. Tikal Lee, the young striker from Kita Hinode scored a hattrick while goals from Oxolt-Belaj Cuf, Sierra Myella and Erin Eidon sealed the aided in the complete humiliation of the Diamonds. A Ramafluroa Bloom without Angelina Aurellix was still able to show out and completely embarrass the terrible Togekisst defence. Finally, the Oberblasten Providence beat the Jozytiannamen Square Rifles in a thrilling 5-4 victory as Olivia Zujaierder assisted all 5 goals and was threatening all game.

Matchday 3:

Kesha Mystics 2–4 Castrealm Royals
New Nashzur Nymphs 1–0 Mortvivant Ghosts
Togekisst Soar 2–0 Regenpluie Soul
Skew Euld Ren Sinners 1–0 Ramafluora Bloom
Kaylein Psychics 1–3 Fuertzampf Wildfires
Jetix No Will Enforcers 3–0 Moskovey Blizzards
Jozytiannamen Square Rifles 1–0 Zapster Thunder
Retutenninst Storm 1–1 Oberblasten Providence
Azure Flutes 4–0 Keva Rogianel 09
Singlewave Surf 3–1 Zimmerstads Diamonds

Lots of teams are getting off to a good start here as they try to maintain their form and continue their runs of success. Players are starting to ball out because Angelo Gelinas is looking to recruit new players into the national team ahead of the AOCAF in Equestria. Something has to be done about Tikal Lee because she has already bagged 6 goals in the MFL, she's out here outscoring entire teams! Moving on to the defending champions, the Mortvivant Ghosts haven't got off to the best of starts as they lost against the New Nashzur Nymphs due to a Jessie Calinnflores last minute goal. You'd expect that the supposed best team in Maccian would have no problems against all 3 of their matchday, but they can still bounce back from these losses.

Matchday 4:

Castrealm Royals 5–4 Zimmerstads Diamonds
Keva Rogianel 09 1–0 Singlewave Surf
Oberblasten Providence 4–3 Azure Flutes
Zapster Thunder 1–0 Retutenninst Storm
Moskovey Blizzards 2–1 Jozytiannamen Square Rifles
Fuertzampf Wildfires 0–1 Jetix No Will Enforcers
Ramafluora Bloom 1–0 Kaylein Psychics
Regenpluie Soul 4–2 Skew Euld Ren Sinners
Mortvivant Ghosts 3–0 Togekisst Soar
Kesha Mystics 0–0 New Nashzur Nymphs

The Kaylein Psychics and the Zimmerstads Diamonds are the only teams yet to record a single point in the MFL. While they are the best players in Maccian, Kiyle and Luftboltzen look as though they are already tired of the Psychics' hyperfocus on offense while having no consideration for the poor defence. Meanwhile on the other side of the spectrum, the Jetix no Will Enforcers are at the top of the league with 12 points, but the Castrealm Royals are breathing down their necks only being two points behind. It seems as though Zimmerstads couldn't' defend a cornershop as they have essentially turned over and allowed 4 teams to score 16 goals against them. Shocking!

Matchday 5:

New Nashzur Nymphs 0–1 Castrealm Royals
Togekisst Soar 2–5 Kesha Mystics
Skew Euld Ren Sinners 0–0 Mortvivant Ghosts
Kaylein Psychics 1–3 Regenpluie Soul
Jetix No Will Enforcers 0–0 Ramafluora Bloom
Jozytiannamen Square Rifles 3–2 Fuertzampf Wildfires
Retutenninst Storm 0–1 Moskovey Blizzards
Azure Flutes 3–3 Zapster Thunder
Singlewave Surf 0–0 Oberblasten Providence
Zimmerstads Diamonds 2–6 Keva Rogianel 09

The Zimmerstads Diamonds are having a horrible start to the season as they are currently bottom of the league with no points, a predicament the Kaylein Psychics also find themselves in. Adam Weiss, Reiktu Sien Brogue and Kiylen Drowsja and oldman Rico Sniders ran rampant as they scored 6 goals past the Diamonds defence. I thought diamonds were like the strongest natural stone in the world? Nevermind, I failed chemistry but the point that Zimmerstads is poor at defending still stands. Even more concerning news, yet another Maccian National Team player, Jeiles Kriessmann has succumbed to injuries. She has apparently fractured her ankle and will be out for 11-12 weeks. Goddamn this league, ruining our hopes of doing any remotely significant internationally!

Matchdy 6:

Castrealm Royals 1–3 Keva Rogianel 09
Oberblasten Providence 1–3 Zimmerstads Diamonds
Zapster Thunder 0–2 Singlewave Surf
Moskovey Blizzards 2–2 Azure Flutes
Fuertzampf Wildfires 0–0 Retutenninst Storm
Ramafluora Bloom 0–1 Jozytiannamen Square Rifles
Regenpluie Soul 1–0 Jetix No Will Enforcers
Mortvivant Ghosts 1–0 Kaylein Psychics
Kesha Mystics 1–2 Skew Euld Ren Sinners
New Nashzur Nymphs 5–2 Togekisst Soar

Togekisst don't think because people have been flaming the Diamonds and Osychics, that you are suddenly safe! You have let in 19 goals in 6 games. But the MFL is relatively close with 17th placed Zapster Thunder being able to jump to 5th. Jessie Calinnflores practically runs the Nymphs' midfield, as she got two assists and a goal in the big victory against the Soar. Kiyle and Luftboltzen are surely plotting to leave the sinking ship that is the Pyschics, because Kayla Chairman seems to think a 3-man defence is A-OK.

Matchday 7:

Togekisst Soar 3–3 Castrealm Royals
Skew Euld Ren Sinners 0–0 New Nashzur Nymphs
Kaylein Psychics 0–1 Kesha Mystics
Jetix No Will Enforcers 1–4 Mortvivant Ghosts
Jozytiannamen Square Rifles 3–3 Regenpluie Soul
Retutenninst Storm 0–0 Ramafluora Bloom
Azure Flutes 4–4 Fuertzampf Wildfires
Singlewave Surf 0–0 Moskovey Blizzards
Zimmerstads Diamonds 2–1 Zapster Thunder
Keva Rogianel 09 4–5 Oberblasten Providence

When Oberblasten win and Zujaierder is playing, its always going to be a thrilling match. She is literally the embodiment of "age is just a number". By the way please don't apply this phrase to every aspect of your life, we don't want no lawsuits because some idiot takes everything too literally. The positioning of teams right now is not that important because the standings are quite close. Meanwhile we have the Psychics who are 0-7. If you are heading to Kaylein, it's an automatic 3 points. How a supposed professional team can be this bad? I don't know but now you see we need a promotion/relegation system ASAP.

Matchday 8:

Castrealm Royals 2–5 Oberblasten Providence
Zapster Thunder 1–1 Keva Rogianel 09
Moskovey Blizzards 0–1 Zimmerstads Diamonds
Fuertzampf Wildfires 0–1 Singlewave Surf
Ramafluora Bloom 0–0 Azure Flutes
Regenpluie Soul 0–0 Retutenninst Storm
Mortvivant Ghosts 1–1 Jozytiannamen Square Rifles
Kesha Mystics 3–4 Jetix No Will Enforcers
New Nashzur Nymphs 0–1 Kaylein Psychics
Togekisst Soar 2–2 Skew Euld Ren Sinners

Angelo Gelinas has too many options to choose from for the upcoming AOCAF. He is probably going for the players which city the system he wants to establish the most. Time to gloss over this week's results! Oberblasten seems to only win via scoring loads of goals as they demolished the royals, half of this week's games were draws, the Psychics finally win a game thanks to Kiyle carrying the team but in the same game Luftboltzen got injured and suffered broken toe, ruling her out for at least 4-6 weeka. the only exciting game was the Mystics versus the Enforcers. Lucie Shanahan was both the hero and the villain as she scored two quickfire goals to quadruple the lead the Enforcers had thanks to Olekeod Husjidin and James DePaul's early goals. However, she scored an own goal after heading it into her own net when a corner was taken. She then two-footed Nyx Areona and was subsequently sent off, though the Mystics couldn't capitalise on the 10-man Enforcers.

Matchday 9:

Skew Euld Ren Sinners 0–0 Castrealm Royals
Kaylein Psychics 3–1 Togekisst Soar
Jetix No Will Enforcers 0–1 New Nashzur Nymphs
Jozytiannamen Square Rifles 2–2 Kesha Mystics
Retutenninst Storm 0–0 Mortvivant Ghosts
Azure Flutes 0–3 Regenpluie Soul
Singlewave Surf 1–0 Ramafluora Bloom
Zimmerstads Diamonds 2–1 Fuertzampf Wildfires
Keva Rogianel 09 0–1 Moskovey Blizzards
Oberblasten Providence 1–0 Zapster Thunder

The MFL is incredibly close so it is still difficult to tell who the top quality teams are. The Psychics edged out the Soar thanks to Amiensha Kiyle and Espede Luftboltzen finishing off Togekisst after Eries Kizerain's early goal. Meanwhile, people in Heartbreak City have been campaigning for Heartbreak City to receive its football team back. Luckily the authorities quashed the dissenters prevented the situation from escalating any further. Also the Jozytiannamen Square Rifles have announced they will not be changing their name until the end of the season following the city's decision to change its name yet again after evidence came out the Jozy Dembele was partaking in slavery. This news was to the joy of Sotos in the city, although any are angry that more and more cities' names are being anglisced in the name of inclusion which has boiled tensions between South Torontons and Maccians...

(p.s Sotos= derogatory term for South Torontons)

Castrealm Royals 0–1 Zapster Thunder
Moskovey Blizzards 3–1 Oberblasten Providence
Fuertzampf Wildfires 0–1 Keva Rogianel 09
Ramafluora Bloom 0–0 Zimmerstads Diamonds
Regenpluie Soul 1–1 Singlewave Surf
Mortvivant Ghosts 0–1 Azure Flutes
Kesha Mystics 2–2 Retutenninst Storm
New Nashzur Nymphs 1–0 Jozytiannamen Square Rifles
Togekisst Soar 1–1 Jetix No Will Enforcers
Skew Euld Ren Sinners 3–3 Kaylein Psychics

After a 1-0 win against the Jozytiannamen Square Rifles thanks to a Jessie Calinnflores goal, the New Nashzur Nymphs have gone to the top of the table. However, Singlewave, Oberblasten, Jetix no Will and Moskovey are breathing in their neck, with Castrealm and Jozytiannamen in hot pursuit. Looking at the bottom of the table, it seems that the team's standings could change, although a team which is certainly going to be bottom three is Togekisst as they have conceded a whopping 28 goals. Ramafluora is missing the spark that the injured Angelina Aurellix provided for them and are struggling offensively. The Morvivant Ghosts are sitting around midtable in the MFL, which could be seen as a fall from grace. Howver, the season is still young and there are many teams vying for the playoff positions. It has been reported that Angelo Gelinas has selected players that will represent Maccian in the AOCAF, although he will only reveal the team once they touch down in Equestria.

Matchdays 11-38:
