That was probably a first for him. His parents owned the rather ornate place and ran it as a mix of a condominium with around twenty (rather small) flats and comfy hot springs spot, legend had it that it was built by some very rich merchants a good couple of centuries earlier and their ownership dated to a couple of years after that when a relative of theirs introduced a rather pointy, sharp end of their blade to one of the merchant's stomach. He walked up to a chair near the window, noticing a rather large white cat with a rather unusual pair of horns that he had never seen before.
Noticing that it was asleep, he dried his hand on a towel at the bathroom before examining the creature a bit better and noticing a note in yellow paper. He started to read it, blinking once he was done. The dark-haired boy sighed, deciding to take a shower before properly starting his day after school.
Hinode,
Mommy and I went off on a surprise business trip. I'm sorry that we haven't told you earlier but it was all pretty sudden. You should have enough on your account to handle yourself for the next three weeks and your mom says she'll make sure to send you more money by then. Make sure to take care of the springs and welcome any hosts. Remember to ask for rent too.
Take care,
Sunrise
P.S. - Make sure to take good care of your new cat. Feed her well and clean her too.

Hinode watched the rain from his bedroom briefly. His punching bag swayed with the little wind that blew down the city-side and the rain watered the flowers he had on his balcony. His eyes moved to an old movie that was on his small television set. The movie itself was about an alien crashing from space and learning how to live with humans. The boy chuckled to himself. "Yeah, right. Because that sounds like the sort of stuff that would happen in real life." He then heard the bell ringing.
As he got up from bed, he noticed that hugging his foot as if to stop him from going. Hinode frowned, picking up the cat and placing her on his bed. She still decided to follow him as he made the trek to the establishment's door, making the journey harder than it would've been otherwise. As he struggled to get the kitten off his head, however, he heard the sound of something (or rather, someone) collapsing.
He opened the gate in a rush, getting a good look at who was there. It was a girl, he could tell that much but most of herself was covered by several layers of clothes. He put her on his back, not worrying about the consequences. A faint voice started to talk, the girl was still conscious. "Thank you..."

Hinode observed the girl, now that he had a better look at her as she drank a glass of orange juice. Her skin was undoubtedly green by nature. His first guess (a semi-orc) was knocked out by her lack of tusks and she looked rather nimble for anyone with even the slightest drop of orc blood inside them. Her eyes were dark, dark as the night with only the clear white pupils standing out. He rose an eyebrow, thinking. "So... uh... how did you end up at my door?" The girl blinked. "Ah... ahem. I kind of lost myself from my family."
The dark-haired boy rose an eyebrow, getting up from his seat while picking a bag of cookies. "For real? You don't look that young to get lost like that, miss." She sighed, taking another sip. "Yeah... space travel is a bit troublesome when you're starting out..." He dropped the bag of cookies while the girl reacted by eliciting a small "uh-oh". The cat was now standing in front of her new owner. "I'm... Uh... My name is Canvas and I'm from space but... I promise I won't hurt you. Please, don't throw me out, I've been trying to find a place to stay for the past three days!"
Hinode looked at the cat who seemed to be protesting against it. He sighed, shaking his head. "You should contact the government..." She nodded, smiling a little bit. "I... I would rather not. Please, I can find a way to get a job and pay you for every single thing I spend here. Just don't throw me out..." He looked at a framed picture of his parents, both of them smiling, something rather rare for his mother. "...fine. Guess I'm feeling nice today and-"
Her reaction was quick and surprising. She gave him a good hug, kissing his cheek. "U-Uh... I'll go get you your key."
