JECKLAND WONDER CUP ROSTER

TEAM INFO

Nickname: The Spuds

Style Modifier: 0

Image Image

THE SQUAD

GK: Carter Clemens, 30, Colanso City - A reliable presence between the sticks, Clemens 6ft5 frame does not impact his agility and allows him to collect high balls with ease and throw them out quickly.

GK: Earl Porcher, 23, Nagelti Rovers - An exciting keeper who has made a name for himself in the past couple of years with some jaw dropping saves.

GK: Stuart Pound, 26, Peswick Town - Renowned for his kicks that travel a great distance, Pound came up through the lower leagues to become one of the top keepers in the country.

RB: Chaz Grey, 24, Peswick Town - His languid running style disguises his tremendous work ethic, often topping running statistics as he bombs up and down the right.

RB: Emery Hodson, 23, Mortsey - More of a traditional full back, Hodson doesn't commit forward as much but makes up for it with huge defensive capabilities.

CB: Teddie Gilbert, 27, Colanso City (CAPTAIN) - Captain of the reigning three time JPL Champions, Gilbert's calm and assured leadership off the pcitch is at odds with his hard tackling, no nonsense style on it.

CB: Jerrard Lovell, 26, Rack City Rangers - With ice in his veins, he looks composed on the ball and often picks incisive passes into the midfield.

CB: Ridley Danielson, 25, Nagelti Rovers - Dependable at the back, Danielson's left footed curling balls up the pitch have become a trademark of his.

CB: Dan Robertson, 22, Panbury Town - A hometown hero in Panbury, Robertson makes the team after a breakout season in the JPL.

LB: Brendan Pain, 24, Rack City Rangers - Known for his looping crosses and deadly free kicks, Pain brings the X factor to the left hand side of any defence.

LB: Zak Peters, 25, Colanso City - Standing at only 5ft5, Peters is lighting down the left flank, able to outpace nearly any opponent.

CM: Reuben Sanderson, 24, Kyslo - The most naturally talented player in Jeckland, Sanderson's fast feet and eye for a pass make him a goal threat himself and a frequent assister from midfield.

CM: Matty Graves, 23, Colanso City - The engine in any midfield, Graves is always in the right position to contribute to both defence and attack.

CM: Billie Gibbs, 26, Serbury - Sprays passes all over the pitch. When they come off, they're magical - but will often go for a wonder pass where a simple one would suffice.

CM: Cleve Blanchard, 27, Panbury Town - An enigmatic character with a very active social media presence, Blanchard makes the squad after letting his football do the talking last season.

CM: Hamilton Sheppard, 27, Nagelti Rovers - Playing in the 10 role for his club, Sheppard is known for his abilities to press opposition defenders into mistakes.

CM: Raynard Deadman, 22, Peswick Town - An enforcer at the base of a midfield, will always look to intercept or tackle, even if it means picking up a card or two.

RW: Cree Martel, 20, Rack City Rangers - Lighting quick, two footed, and with a venomous shot, this winger is the hottest prospect in the country.

RW: Jeffery Peters, 22, Colanso City - Hard working winger who will never give the opposing left back an easy game with his all action play.

ST: Cyprian Stack, 24, Nagelti Rovers - Last JPL's top scorer is a natural finisher and his positional play is outstanding. If given service, he will score goals.

ST: Jeptha Lynton, 24, Yonsolo United - Not as prolific a goalscorer as other Jeckish strikers, but his hold up and link up play bring the best out of his team-mates.

LW: Kolby Dane, 23, Rack City Rangers - Loves to cut inside and shoot on his right foot but also has the ability to skin his man on the outside.

LW: Kimball Forest, 21, Kyslo - Has all the natural attributes to be a star, but still working on his decision making in attacking areas.

THE MANAGER

Kayden Ross is a 51 year old hailing from Lingham. He played football to a decent level in his younger years but found his feet as a coach and has been hired by the JFA to lead Jeckland into the new era. Favours a balance between attack and defence with a high work ethic and will line Jeckland up in a 4-3-3 formation.

RP PERMISSIONS

If you're RPing the match first, feel free to RP whatever you want in terms of goalscorers, match events and yellow cards. If you want to do anything 'unrealistic' or godmoddy I might be fine with it, but TG/Discord me first and only proceed if I give a approval. Similarly if you plan to give a player of mine a red card or injury that would rule them out of the next match, TG/Discord me first.

Wonder Cup 2
Team Cassadaigua

Cassadaigua’s venture into the first Wonder Cup was different in that it was a combination of being glorified friendlies for members of the World Cup team, since there would be no qualifiers for us as that host. Or it was fringe players trying to make a statement to be a part of the team. The approach will still be the same, even though we do have to qualify this time, in that we will not use the same lineup for every game. Therefore, I am just listing the players by position.

Please pay attention to my RP prior to a game for the lineup that will be used for the next game. In the event that I fail to RP this in advance, you are free to choose your own players that played in the match from my list of players.

Kit Numbers: Any player with a kit number under 40, plus Rachel Schanke is a World Cup regular. Kit numbers 41 and above could be less experienced world cup players (i.e. have shown up as a reserve in the past), but are all playing for a role on the team in some capacity.

Coach- Stephanie Sweeney (58)

Goalkeepers:
#31- Kelsey Morgan (33)
#21- Tiffany Nelson (27)
#41- Danielle Cotter (22)

About the goalkeepers: Kelsey Morgan is the regular starting keeper and Nelson has been a regular sub or reserve. As Morgan is older, and Nelson comes off an excellent Copa Rushmori (Morgan did not play in it), the question of our starting goalkeeper for World Cup 85 is one of the biggest dilemmas we have. Is Morgan still good enough, or go with Nelson in her prime? It will be worth watching. More then likely, Danielle Cotter will not see much actions.

Defenders:
#22- Lupe Enriquez (31)
#3- Brooke Sutter (27)
#29- Matthew Donegal (29)
#24- Kimberly Carson (27)
#4- Hannah Shanley (34)
#6- Ashley Crocker (33)
#42- Nicole Blaney (25)
#43- Katie Standish (23)
#49- Devon Daniels (23)
#52- Michelle Graves (23)
#53- Amanda Clayton (22)
#59- Sierra Swift (22)

Why So Many Defenders?: Shanley and Crocker are World Cup veterans, but are trying to prove their form is still worthy of being a starter as they get older. Therefore, there is a greater competition for the potential spots in the back end, so more players are being looked at even if they are just for reserve roles.

Midfielders:
#23- Sierra Mattison (33)
#8- Shelby Martin (33)
#9- Zack Pierce (29)
#16- Meghan Wolcott (25)
#25- Emma McKee (31)
#19- Preston Newfeld (25)
#32- Courtney Graham (24)
#34- Danielle Porter (22)
#44- Sarah Giles (22)

Not as many midfielders?: There is more certainty with who will be where at this position, so there is less need for borderline players to be evaluated.

Forwards:

#71- Rachel Schanke (25)
#12- Ashley Dahlin (29)
#27- Madison McClain (23)
#26- Eddie Malone (30)
#45- Taylor Russo (23)
#46- Kelsey Whitman (22)
#48- Loreen Hazen (21)
#47- Kierstan O’Bryan (25)

What’s going on here?: With Hannah Ranucci, our superstar forward for many World Cups now moving on, as well as regular subs Caitlyn Mayer and Chelsea Monroe doing so, there wide open competition here. Rachel Schanke is a returning starter and the future of this group. Therefore, the main focus of this competition figures to be who has the best chemistry with Schanke.

No Captain?: As the roster will be different in all games, a single captain is not named. The captain for the game will be announced when I also mention who the starters for the upcoming match in RP.

Team Info:
Style Mod: 0 (Due to the important position battles in goal as well as besides Schanke up front, I don’t want to skew our results with the modifier, so we’ll go with the zero).
Formation: 4-3-3 (Because of the emphasis on needing to evaluate forwards for chemistry with Schanke then the need to evaluate midfielders, where there is more certainty).
People from Cassadaigua are referred to as Cassadagans.
Team nickname: Fillies. Also, we are commonly referred to as the Dagans

Kits:
(Pink= home, White= away, Black= keeper or third. Thanks Donnacona!)

Info: The brains as they are called for the nation name Kohnhead are a relatively new team on the international spectrum. While the domestic league in Kohnhead has thrived for years and the top two teams Kohnhead City FC and FC Kohnface City have won all the titles except one which was one by Barnley in the inaugural season the league has talent throughout. This will be their first tournament as a national team and optimism runs high in the team with some proclaiming they are better than everyone else and will easily win. This is probably not true as they have never played another national team.

Poafmersia's squad for Wonder Cup 2

Other name: The Red Panjias (Panjia is the Poafmerian equivalant of a horse)
Kit Colours: Red, Orange

For the competition, Poafmersia would not be filling a fixed team every match. This is because the Wonder Cup is being utilised by the Poafmersia Football Association as a cup to experiment new strategies and field younger players who may have been left out of previous international competitions. Therefore, it is likely that many of the regular first team starters would not participate, though they would be named below.

Head Coach: Adnan Suliaha, 50
Assistant Head Coach (Main coach for this competition): Katiri Hedge, 55
General Playing Style: Being a nation which emphasises on fast paced attacking football, Poafmersia would prefer to attack rather then defend. The players can be quite aggressive in getting back the ball, yet they do not keep high amounts of possession and often break on the counter attack.
For this competition, assistant head coach Katiri Hedge would be the coach in the dugout, with head coach Adnan Suliaha away with the main team for their warm-up friendlies. This would be in effect unless a previous RP states otherwise.

Formations: 4-3-3 (preferred), 4-1-2-1-2, 3-4-3, 3-5-2
Style Modifier: +2.325
Note: Please refer to my RPs before match to know the predicted lineup/bench for the day. If one is not posted, you may utilise the last posted lineup, and make any enforced changes as you like. (due to injuries, suspensions, etc.)

Fans
Poafmersian fans are crazy about football, and their loud cheers ring about in the stadiums they visit. They are very willing to disturb the peace in the area to celebrate their win after matches, so matches are best held in the afternoon or early evenings. Apart from that, they do pick up after themselves, and prevent causing much trouble apart from celebrating. However, as the national team is split into two with 2 set of matches, it is likely that not all the fans would be here for the Cup, and attendance from the Poafmersian fans may not be as fantastic as with other matches.

RP Permissions
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers Yes
Godmod scoring events Yes
Roleplay injuries to my players Yes (You determine what happened, I decide the severity)
Godmod injuries to my players Yes (As above)
Hand out yellow cards to my players Yes
Hand out red cards to my players Yes (At most 1 per match, do ask me first)
Godmod other events Yes

If anything, a rule of thumb would be to keep as high realism as far as possible off the pitch.
I am very open to cooperative RPs, such as joint press conferences, match-side drama, out-of-field events, etc. Do drop me a Telegram in-game or a DM on Discord (You can find me on the NS Sports Discord - The Setting Sun #7085)

The second edition of the Wonder Cup will mark the beginning of a new era for the Baker Park National Team, as Ichi Tuzzio, who managed Farfadillis to the World Cup title, takes charge, the first foreigner ever to lead the Black & Gold. As the women got a chance to represent the country in the regional championship, the men will go it alone for this competition, with eight uncapped players on the roster for Tuzzio's first squad.

Style Mod: +3.1
formation: 3-4-1-2 (Tuzzio will be experimenting with ways of refining the traditional BP formation to utilize some of his methods).

Live Interview with Katiri Hedge
Interviewer: Welcome everyone to PFBC Live, and today we would be having an exclusive interview with the Assistant Head Coach of the national football team, Katiri Hedge!
Katiri: Thank you everyone for tuning in, and thank you to the Poafmersia Broadcasting Corporation for agreeing to have this live interview here from Qasden.
Interviewer: No problem. We all know that Katiri would be leading a younger and less experienced team here at the second edition of the Wonder Cup, which is a friendly competition hosted by Qasden for teams as a warm up before the World Cup Qualification cycle proper. So back to Katiri, what is the purpose of sending a team here to Qasden for this Cup, and what does the national team aim to achieve from this competition?
Katiri: When we decided to throw our hat into this competition, it was not an easy decision. The team has agreed to a few friendly matches, and participation in the Cup would definitely split our team up and increase the fixture congestion. However, noting the numerous players in the Poafmersian football setup, with many up and coming youngsters yearning to gain a spot in the national team, we decided to give some additional players a chance to showcase themselves. Some may not have showcased their talents properly in the league, others may be overlooked. But with an additional round of friendlies and warm-up matches, we would be able to test some of these additional players while ensuring that the confirmed regulars have opportunities to play together.
Interviewer: So this is an additional audition stage to test new players?
Katiri: Definitely! Some of the slots definitely require fresh replacements. For instance, in goalkeeping, we invited Nicole Potts and Abdul Huffman to join the team here in Qasden, because Jabik Henderson has retired and we think the next replacement could come from someone younger. Both Sandi Jaliaha and Dikash Johikas are with the main team back on their friendly tour, so it leaves us here with the two young goalkeepers to see how good they are. In the striking department, we got Makana Tuft, who performed quite well during the U18 world cup last year, as well as Whitney Rios, which showcased her talents when she stepped up for a weakend Fiskadaha FC during their injury crisis. Even for players from the second tier, we have taken notice of their improvements. Armed Forces FC's 4-2-3-1 featured two good Defensive Midfielders, namely Lonny Brooks and Rosario Mclaughlin, and we noted how they had excelled in that position despite being 21 and 22 respectively. Now we are inviting all these young talents to come here and experience playing against strong international sides, as we see how they excel when facing pressure, as well as find out whether they can play with the senior team for our World Cup Qualification cycle.
Interviewer: Having talked about the squad, let us put our eyes on the participating teams. Are there any teams which you are particularly excited to face?
Katiri: The (World Cup 84) hosts Baker Park and Cassadaigua are both in the competition, and they are definitely the strongest teams here in the competition. We played against Baker Park in a friendly two years ago, which was unforgettable as they handed us a trashing. Now that we have the experience of one cycle, we would like play these teams and see how much we had improved. It was also heartening to see many teams returning for the new cycle and completely new teams throwing their hat into the competition. These new and returning teams would provide a different level of challenge, as they may not be as familiar and would definitely showcase new things and test the players' reaction skills.
Interviewer: I noticed that the team has avoided many of the big names like HUElavia, Darmen, Baker Park and Cassadaigua during the group stage.
Katiri: Which mounts even more pressure on our side, to get into the top half of the elimination bracket. With a double elimination format, it become especially important to be on the top side. The other three teams would definitely be aiming for us and trying to cause upsets, and the players would now have to showcase their abilities. Although we avoided the strong teams, it does not say anything as the three sides have unknown capabilities beneath them. Starcom Racing and Oberour Ar Moro both missed the last cycle, but did well in the World Cup 83 cycle, and should have some experience behind them to provide a close match. Kohnhead would be participating in the Baptism of Fire, so they have even more matches to deal with throughout their campaign, but the newcomers always spring surprises, just like how we performed during the last cycle where we debuted.
Interviewer: Unfortunately, the interview has to come to an end, and we thank Katiri for coming for this interview. All the best to the team at the Wonder Cup, and to all visiting fans here in Qasden, do show your support for our new players!
Katiri: Thank you!

Squad for the first match against Oberour Ar Moro (4-2-3-1):
Nicole Potts;
Graciia Warisian, Nasri Sanchez, Mandy Gibson, Bolsto Nelison;
Lonny Brooks, Rosario Mclaughlin;
Edna Anderson, Donk Mason, Bastia Hansilon;
Hansel Tang (captain)

Fixture List: (Locations are assumed based on order given by host)

HUElavia Begins Another Wonder Cup!

The HUElavia National Football Team once again participates in the Wonder Cup, a tournament that saw the team win their first ever Group Stage in a Football Tournament, as well as finish 5th place overall. This time around, HUElavian fans are having high expectations of the team, with Los Amarillos being among the top favorites to win the tournament.

Notably, this is the first tournament the team plays in, after the debacle of the IAC 9 Final against New Luisitania in front of 100,000 fans in Curumba. With this, a new manager has stepped in, being Ivan Mendieta-Martinez, the captain for the national team in IAC 8 and WC 84, and father of the young centerback Manuel Mendieta, who has given a change in formation in order to emphasize in possession and forward attack. There is high hopes that Medieta will bring the team together to get favorable results.

While the squad is going as the Senior Team, many people view this as a glorified U-23 team, where Lobato, Angelica, and Duran are the oldest players at the age of 22 years. Although, this is a very stacked squad of the best young talents the country has to offer, with many pundits in HUElavia viewing this team as more or less the squad to be expected in the coming years in future tournaments, particularly those of WC 86 and 87, as well as IAC 11 and 12. Lobato, Amaru, Ramirez, Almeida, Navarro, and Hamada are the players to watch on this team.

Fans will be coming in droves to watch these youngsters, as the team is in Group A against Khazajamal, Darmen, and Sanlahi, which all of HUElavia's Group Stage matches will be played at the Royal T.V. Stadium in the capital city of T.V. City in Qasden, the largest venue in the tournament. The opening match of the tournament will be between HUElavia vs Sanlahi.

FORCA HUELAVIA! VAMOS HUELAVIA! GO HUELAVIA!

Wonder Cup To Begin,
by Kaitlyn Scoville, Concord Heights Times

Good afternoon, everyone, it is Kaitlyn coming to you from Qasden where the Wonder Cup will soon be playing. This is a soccer tournament that Cassadaigua used last year and treated as a series of glorified friendly matches for the World Cup since they would not have to qualify. While that part is now different, CASE has entered the team once again in the tournament moreso to test out a couple of positional battles for the eventual qualifying roster, rather then to treat the Wonder Cup as a prestigious tournament that they want to win. That’s what CASE thinks about it. For the players and the coaching staff, the agenda is to win this tournament while testing out the positional battles.

The biggest spot that is seen as up for grabs is the most important spot on the pitch: in goal. The question here is whether or not returning starter Kelsey Morgan should continue to hold that position at 33 years of age, or if the team should move on to the 27-year old Tiffany Nelson. Morgan has done a lot of great things for the team, but when she was not named to the Copa Rushmori roster, and Tiffany Nelson was, we started to question what the motive of the move truly was. It was curious though, because manager Stephanie Sweeney was quoted then as saying, “ Kelsey Morgan is not part of the roster because of the fact that she is not up for evaluation.” Kelsey even responded to the rumors then that Tiffany Nelson was going to get the starting spot over her, by saying, “I hope she has a clean sheet in every game!”, which was a response to Nelson posting clean sheets in the first two games of the competition, one of which against the likes of Pasarga. For Nelson, the competition ended in the exact same way the last major international competition that Morgan started in (World Cup 84): a loss to Eura in knockouts. With all of that chatter seeming to imply that Sweeney is intending to stick with Kelsey Morgan, and it really seems as though Morgan is expecting to be the starter here, then what is up with the talk about Tiffany Nelson? I have tried to prod manager Sweeney for answers on that, but she has simply said both of them will be splitting duties. I don’t see why that would happen if there was not some form of evaluation being done on each of them. Morgan and Nelson have always got along great, but Tiffany would seem to be in the prime of her career right now. In an interesting twist of fate, Morgan could lose the starting spot to Nelson in the same way that she attained it over then starter Kristen Speller. This is very much a competition that is probably being handled in house by Sweeney and the coaching staff. Both Morgan and Nelson have to know it, too. If they play evenly, Morgan probably gets the job, but if Nelson is the better keeper, Sweeney may opt to go with her.

The group of defenders is going to see some work too, with the focal point being the same theme: should productive players in their lower 30's lose their spots over younger players in or approaching the prime of their career? Lupe Enriquez and Brooke Sutter are sure things, after them, this is a wide open evaluation with many players being observed at different points of the tournament. It makes the format of the tournament ideal for what we are setting out to do. We are going to play a certain about of games, even if we lose them all and finish 16th. The midfield does not seem to have any question. Sierra Mattison plays an important role for this team and is going to continue to start. Zack Pierce and Meghan Wolcott are certainties. One question could be Shelby Martin or Preston Newfeld, but even there I think it is still Martin. The main competition here is setting sub and reserve roles.

Up front, there is massive turnover. Gone is Hannah Ranucci, the now 35-year old former captain who will be considered for kit number retirement. If so, her #33 would be the first number honored by CASE since the nation’s return to international competition. That’s not it, though. Two regular substitutes, Caitlyn Mayer and Chelsea Monroe have also moved on. So now, we really have to see who is going to play regularly with Rachel Schanke up front, and that is going to come down between who has the most chemistry with her. The team needs games for that. Therefore, expect to see Schanke in every game, but with different players on the pitch with her. Ashley Dahlin seems like the best choice here, but I have to be honest, I have not always seen terrific chemistry between Schanke and Dahlin. They get along great, but sometimes two players don’t seem to mesh even if they should be meshing, and even if they are trying their hardest to each make it work. Schanke and Dahlin, therefore, I am not sold on. Madison McClain is the one that will get a long look, but don’t rule out a surprise here.

As you can see, there is plenty for Cassadaigua to play for, even if it just for internal matters. In the end, if they do it well, there will be some sort of trophy. Opponents in the group stage are Delaclava (wow, been a long time since I said that!), Jeckland (been a long time since I said that, too), and Northwest Kalactin (I’ve said that recently I’m sure.) The latter is our first match.

Wonder Cup returns, BP men get chance to shine
by Oliver Stanley
The Post Soccer Correspondent

The Commonwealth National Team will open the Tuzzio era here in Qasden, where the country's historic first qualification for World Cup 80 occurred, as the side look ahead towards the qualifications for World Cup 85.

Tuzzio has brought eight uncapped players in the 23 man squad, as he searches out the best combinations for future call ups. While seven 30+ capped players made the trip, none of them are expected to play large amounts of minutes here.

The first task for the new braintrust will be sorting out the goalkeeping situation. Kyle Moyer and Jared Wyatt were passed over in favor of Grant Coffey, plus two former U21 stars who made their mark in the Championship last season--Zach Johnston of champions New Bremen and Ben Kelley, who took over the #1 shirt at Hillsborough. All three were among the leaders in fewest goals allowed, with Johnston and Coffey finishing 1-2;

In defense, NT captain Derrick Briggs remained at home, but JC Bartok & Terrence Stephens will lead the backline, with Derion Hutchins called back into the squad, as well as former U18 captain Sam Harrison. Expect to see newcomers Victor Onikambe & Jerome Brooks quite a bit here.

As usual, midfield is the strength of this particular squad, and the embarrassment of riches that BP possess is surely going to expand. Marcus Nolan, recently signed by Brigham FC in Eura, will be looking to make his mark on the new staff, and Junior Ngoba gets a chance to stake a claim to the right wing slot left open for this cycle by Veronica Navarro's maternity leave.

On the front line, Tim Cassel has shown tremendous scoring ability, along with a massive potential for growth in the two seasons of the National Conference mixed gender setup, so this will be a chance for him to show himself in more playing time than he might've had if the full mixed gender national pool had been considered. The same can be said for Daniel Pryor--who will also be moving on to Eura when domestic play gets underway--and Reggie Laing.

Expect to see some elements of the Farf playing style incorporated into the usual formation on a trial basis in these matches, along with changes in some roles that players have filled in the past.

lineup vs Freeport:
Johnston; Stephens, Onikambe, Hutchins; Grimaldi, Mason, Taborn (C), Ngoba; Sotolongo; Laing, Pryor

Work the Space
Oberour Ar Moro seeks to inspire wonder in Qasden

By Kare Busquent

Welcome, one and all, to the Wonder Cup: "An unofficial precursor tournament to the World Cup qualifiers" as the Qasden Association Football Association advertises it. Sixteen teams are entered, and was rogue's gallery it is. Cassadaigua, Baker Park, and Darmen('s Under-23 team) are squaring off with Starcom Racing, Indusse, and three teams entering their first Baptism of Fire this year.

This reminds the historian of Oberour Ar Moro football of the Nakiti Robotics & Axx Software Opportunity Cup, where the Dragoons before the Dragoons-nickname won their first three matches of multiversal football in Queer Poco El Mono Ara before losing in penalties against Sargossa.

All World Cup precursor touraments have this incredible mix of powerhouses versus minnows, but the minnows can surprise and then conquer. All this means is that if you actually want to be successful in a tournament such as this, you actually have to work for it.

As best as anyone can tell, Gilduin Roux is, by and large, working for it. Laurens Desainctvictori, Gwion du Bourc-la-Reyne, and Lunen Margas remain on defense. Pierres Branon is at center midfield. Eneour Pique-Pain and Ruran l’Ermite are at left and right wing respectively. But then there are the changes, that indicate that Roux is trying to figure out his World Cup qualifying roster. Annaeg Chaumeeur gets a starting sweeper role. Thommas du Contant de la Mollette is promoted to starting left midfielder. And most notably is who is at striker, and then who is not.

Taran Bele is promoted for the Wonder Cup to starting striker. Kerrian Odierne is off the roster. Mikêl Rose is on the bench, staring hungrily at the opposing goals. Bele scored for fun at the Under-21 level, and has been a constant scoring threat with Invicta in the Premier Division. He has not shown the same ability at the highest multiversal level. Mikêl Rose is in his first year as a full-time starter with Hibernus and is an interesting addition as long as long-time Dragoons substitute Nycollas Mauranghas leads the A-Division in scoring. Kerrian Odierne has dealt with a series of injuries domestically with Cyrene Bay, but it still strange to see a national team where he is not on the roster.

Oberour Ar Moro has one night's rest before their first match with Poafmersia's Red Panijas at the Municipal Amphitheater in Taxson. While the Dragoon's would like to use this tournament to prepare for World Cup qualifying, you know they want to win more than anything.

Note: The following articles are taken from Sporting Daily, Poafmersia's premier sporting newspaper.

Poafmersia 0
Oberour Ar Moro 3
Taran Bele 28', 53'
Annaeg Chaumeeur 40'

First 11 (4-2-3-1): Nicole Potts; Graciia Warisian, Simone Gori, Mandy Gibson, Bolsto Nelison; Lonny Brooks, Rosario Mclaughlin; Edna Anderson, Donk Mason, Bastia Hansilon; Hansel Tang (captain)
Substitutes: Likarish Gyits (Brooks 53'), Whitney Rios (Hansilon 61')

Wonder Cup: Heavy defeat for Poafmersia as lone striker strategy backfires
Report by Alexa Nakari
Taxson, Qasden - Poafmersia's Wonder Cup campaign opened with a heavy defeat against Oberour Ar Moro, suggesting that a tactic switch may not be that good for Poafmersian players in general.
As Poafmersia played Northwest Kalactin away yesterday in a friendly [OOC: The friendly was arranged but unscorinated, so there is no reference to the result there], there was another team here in Qasden training for their match against Oberour Ar Moro. A younger team, with little caps to their name, and many players were about to get their first international cap here for the senior team. Among which, Nicole Potts stunned many observers by getting her first international cap here in goal, with an apparent lack of goalkeepers apart from (Sandi) Jaliaha and (Dikash) Johikas, both of which were with head coach Adnan Suliaha and his main team in Northwest Kalactin. Although Nasri Sanchez was named as the original first 11, it was decided that Simone Gori would start in his place as Nasri Sanchez was called to the bench in Northwest Kalactin.
The first 25 minutes was fantastic. Both sides made excellent tackles, and both goalkeepers' abilities were tested early on as Hansel Tang of Poafmersia and Annaeg Chaumeeur both made excellent shots. But the Poafmersian defence made a big mistake in the 28th minute, allowing Taran Bele to poach on the mistake to open the scoring. Although Poafmersia continued to go on the counter-offensive, the Dragons' defence was unbreakable and neutralised each and every threat. The players' lack of experience at the senior level showed as they had to rely on Tang and (Bastia) Hansilon, which had 5 and 4 caps before the match. Ultimately, the team fell to a screamer from Taran Bele and another brilliant shot from Annaeg Chaumeeur, and Katiri Hedge's switch to a 4-1-3-2 formation could not help the team get a goal back.
Having lost the first match 3-0, Poafmersia is determined to bounce back against Starcom Racing. Katiri Hedge would switch to a 4-1-2-1-2 formation,

Poafmersia set for another huge domestic transfer window
Analysis by Tony Riakchz
[OOC: The domestic season as described below is with reference to the previous IFCF Season 2, and the RPs will be posted on our domestic newswire]
Mancodas - A promoted team getting such excellent results is unheard of anywhere else in the multiverse.
But with FC United of Mancodas ending their first season in the Premier League on a high, many other teams are determined to pursue an even bigger transfer window by getting talents from smaller clubs. Bigger clubs are also willing to look internationally to bolster their strength and also to get better players
Here in Mancodas, the rush for talent is even stronger with three strong Mancodas clubs, namely Mancodas City, Mancodas Athletic FC, as well as FC United of Mancodas. Traditionally, Mancodas Athletic FC has been the older and more experienced side, having strong roots in developing young players. In recent years, Mancodas City has grown to become the stronger side and with their financial clout, they became the "noisy neighbours". With FC United of Mancodas launching their academy and aiming to send a team into the Professional Developmental League for the next season, the race for talents and the race to become better has become more competitive. And therefore, splurging on players and improving talents from smaller clubs becomes the norm. This means a bigger pool of players for the national team, and more younger players showing up.
There were a number of players that shone and are aiming for a transfer to bigger clubs. Some are featuring in the Wonder Cup, such as Edna Anderson and Whitney Rios, understanding more about playing at the senior level and competing against big teams. Others are probably in the pool of players looking to gain national team caps. And these players are going to make moves to bigger clubs, to places which can further develop them to become world-class players. Hopefully, this transfer window would definitely see huge moves and consolidation of talents.

Baptism of Fire sees a record 56 teams
Report by Randy Hikix
The new World Cup 85 qualification cycle saw an influx of 56 new nations starting their journey in the 72nd edition of the Baptism of Fire, bringing with them various new playing styles and story. This would definitely signal an exciting qualification campaign ahead, considering that many of these teams bring with them unheard of tactics and make us see even more creatures in multiverse.
Among teams that have shown their squad and given a bit more information about themselves, we have seen teams made up of semi-professionals, other teams made up of prisoners, and some players playing for these nations come from famous leagues that have done well on the domestic stage. With such a huge variety of teams chasing for the one and only title, this edition of the Baptism of Fire would make for good watching.
Poafmersia has worked with the hosts to ensure that the Baptism of Fire is broadcasted live on the television, with live commentary online on our website, as well as an all-new microsite, sportingdaily.com.pf/BoF72, featuring live results from the tournament. Being the bronze medalists of the previous edition, the PFFA has also extended an invitation to the teams participating in the competition, to invite the semi-finalists of the competition to Poafmersia for a friendly. Hopefully, we are able to see new talents being featured and see strong teams rise out of the competition.

Squad for the match against Starcom Racing (4-1-2-1-2):
Abdul Huffman;
Mancest Nilson, Nasri Sanchez, Mandy Gibson, Bolsto Nelison;
Rosario Mclaughlin;
Edna Anderson, Bastia Hansilon;
Stegaj Johnatson
Likarish Gyits, Hansel Tang (captain)

HUElavia's Opener Ends in Lackluster Draw

HUElavia began their 2nd appearance in the Wonder Cup going off against Sanlahi at T.V. Stadium, the largest venue of the tournament in the capital of Qasden, T.V. City. Los Amarillos came in as heavy favorites into the match, where even Head Coach Mendieta decided to field the entire B-Team for the opening match. Thousands of HUElavians flocked to the country, as the stadium was overwhelmingly Yellow, Blue and Green, with flags and banners of HUElavia adorning the stands, while some thousands of Sanlahians were in the stands.

Needless to say, the match went nowhere during the full 90 minutes. Both teams seemed to experience Rookie Anxiety, as neither team played aggressively, being very tactical with passes and trying to not let the other team score. The crowd got upset and began to boo all 22 of the players for this defensive display. This did not help the match at all, giving the team anxiety to score, which effectively ended the match at 0-0.

HUElavia's draw with Sanlahi was the only match to end in a draw, as well as the only one that went scoreless, compared to all the other matches which had goals and excitement. Darmen U23's defeated Khazajamal, which sees them in 1st for the time being while HUElavia is in 2nd place. Los Amarillos are obligated to win against Khazajamal in order to keep pace with Darmen, who are favorites against Sanlahi. The best XI will be used for the match, in hopes to gain a victory against the minnows of Khazajamal. Fans still have hope that the team can get off the ground and begin to score like they normally do, especially with the talent in Midfield and Attack.

Kohnhead's first match ends in poor performance
In the first match for Kohnhead's team they were thoroughly dominated by Starcom Racing. The game was held at Merellin Park and there were not many Kohnhead supporters in the stands to say the least. The conditions were awful as it was a rainy day and the field was covered in mud. In the 31st minute Erin Maltos and Aaron Korkson put on a show and it ended with the ball in the back of the net as Maltos netted the first goal ever for Kohnhead. It was downhill from there but heading into halftime Kohnhead was up 1-0. Leon Bradley got into the books early with a challenge on Nicholas Radison. Radison was subbed off with an injury but he should be good to return and Atkinson came in as Bradley only got a yellow. OUTRAGEOUS.

It didn't take long for Starcom Racing to start after they appeared to make a tactical change at halftime. I couldn't tell what it was but it worked for them, as Ronnie Goodwin scored twice in the 52nd and in the 55th with two goals that completely demoralized Kohnhead. Leon Bradley to the ire of Kohnhead's players also got a goal in stoppage time on a cross to further humiliate Kohnhead. Yellow cards were handed out to Korkson, Laker, and Vargas for Kohnhead and Bradley was the only one to get into the books for Starcom.

Radison is day to day with his injury and while at one point the other Bradley for Starcom lay on the ground after a collision with Korkson he soon got up and nothing appeared to be wrong with him. Hopefully Kohnhead can turn things around tomorrow but with a match against Oberour Ar Moro who are coming off a 3-0 victory over Poafmersia I have low hopes for tomorrow. Hopefully this team can surprise but I am doubtful.

This is Lillian Barter signing out for KNN. See you at the pitch tomorrow.
