West Phoenicians Renee Richardson, Vera Di Santos, Con Towers and Spooky Graham are to be the first athletes to compete in an international sporting tournament under a different flag.

In a recent move the West Phoenician Congress passed the Changed our Flag act after much public heated debate that witnessed a nation divided not only from its citizens but it's politicians also.

The Old flag has long since been held in high esteem by Social Conservatives, Nationalists, Traditionalists, Antebellum Conservative Party members, Segregation Party members,West Phoenicia First Party members, LGBTI+, Religious Right
citizens over 40, The Old Rich, Blue collar workers, Rural citizens and Middle class Suburbanites.

While the newly introduced flag saw support from Royalists, The New Rich, White Collar Workers, Urbanites, Left leaning parties,Feminists , New age Religious, Centrists, College educated class, Citizens under 30, New immigrants, Religious centrists and left,

With debates heated elements of the old flag were incorporated into the new flag, the gesture made to appease both camps.

In Congress, members of Parliament were allowed A vote of conscience, instead of a long party lines. The results were 900 eyes, 500 nays and 190 abstain. With the bill passed in the House of Representatives, it was passed to the Senate for a final vote, where the vote was 66 aye and 40 nays.

The Emperor under the advice of The House of Viceroys approved the bill for a new flag that included the Gryphon-Bush family seal, an honour for the royal family which has ruled the nation for over 300 years.

The tennis tournament in Beçonailles will embark on a new era for the nation . All four singles players are excited to take part in the tournament. All four declined to comment on whether they approved or disapproved of the flag change. All four stating they were happy to participate under any flag as long as the6 took part in the sport they love.

Reçueçn's tennis scene has been controlled until recently by a very powerful figure: Lucien Le Floch. His mastery of the sport, and advantage when playing on clay, have led to him winning a string of previous tournaments here at Beçonailles. For years, when a Reçuecian thought Tennis, they thought Le Floch. But as Le Floch grew older, his steady control of the game began to weaken. As his pace has slowed, Le Floch's traditional, no-nonsense style of play, once his greatest strength, has not been able to keep up with more innovative competition.

Specifically in the last couple years, two new Reçuecian athletes have burst onto the scene: Gaëlle Sellier and Abelie Fontana. Sellier is in her prime. Charismatic and winsome, she is the reigning queen of Reçuecian tennis, and newspapers refer to her as La Reine. For the last couple years, she has been the one to beat at Beçonailles, and is the current title holder.

It came as a surprise then, when at a recent friendly tournament, Sellier failed to take first place. She came a decent fourth, but her spotlight was stolen by Abelie Fontana, a teenager from southern Reçuecn, who managed to win the grand prize.

If Sellier is popular with Reçuecian fans as a symbol of the glamor of the tennis aristocracy, Fontana's fans are driven with a passion that can only come with rooting for an underdog. Reçueçn's Francophone majority represents itself well in most sports, providing most of the players. But in tennis especially, French-speakers are overrepresented. It's refreshing then, for fans to have someone a bit different to cheer for. While Reçueçn doesn't have much racial diversity, there are cultural and linguistic minorities. Fontana speaks both English and French with a distinct Italian accent. She's incredibly young for a professional tennis player--still in her teens. Due to the language barrier, she hasn't had access to many of the same facilities her francophone copatriots have had. But despite that, she shows amazing potential and promise. Her fierce personality distinguishes her both on and off the court, and her amazing out-of-nowhere success at the Haven Tennis Tournament has got her fans hoping that she can repeat that performance.

But while the Haven Tournament was a friendly, this is for real--for a title, and for prize money. Although it is certain that in the years to come, Fontana will be a star, the question is--can she pull off an upset here and now?

Tennis had seen a recent surge in popularity in Sensorland. In fact, sports in general had been on the rise as a form of entertainment, but tennis was especially growing. The Sensorland League of Tennis was thrilled to send some of its star players to compete in Beçonailles, and Sensorians watched with bated breath as their athletes competed for the first time abroad.

In Sensorland, one name is associated with tennis more than any other, and that name is "Carlsten". Toby Carlsten has made a name for himself not only through his skill, but also for his flashy play. Carlsten has been playing tennis since he was in elementary school, and is known for his quick wit as much as his quick serve. When he was invited to Beçonailles, he was ecstatic to play against foreign matches. Sensorians cheered as Carlsten won his matchup against Luh Putu Yundari.

Carlsten wasn't the only player the Sensorian people were eager to see in action. If Carlsten was the king of Sensorian tennis, Anabel Belitz was the queen. Unlike Carlsten, Belitz was all about substance over style, which could easily be observed in her playstyle. In the recent Sensoria Tennis Championships tournament, she had even beaten Carlsten for the first time, taking first place and gaining major notoriety in the world of Sensorian tennis. It was a major upset, then, when fellow Sensorian Jerome Yurman beat her handily in round one. Yurman's relatively small fanbase was thrilled at his victory, and he saw a spike in popularity. Belitz, meanwhile, has congratulated Yurman. Analysts chalk her loss up to some sloppy plays, possibly due to jetlag from the travel to Reçueçn.

The last singles player Sensorland sent to Beçonailles was Gia Hesler. Hesler, a rising star in the SLT, had placed third in the last Sensoria Tennis Championships, and was seen largely as an underdog by Sensorians. Many were disappointed at her poor performance against the Reçuecian Abelie Fontana. Hesler, while disappointed at her loss, was reportedly thrilled to play in a new environment and get to know athletes from other countries, including her opponent.

Many Sensorians are highly anticipating the next singles matchup, hoping their star player can pull through and bring international renown to Sensorian tennis. Yurman's fans, in particular, are excited for the upcoming match, hoping that he will be able to prove himself at Beçonailles.

For the doubles draw, the team-up of Johano Geraldes and Ernest Knighten is particularly exciting to Sensorians. Geraldes is a native Esperanto speaker, one of the people raised with the popular constructed language as a first language. Esperanto has always had a large presence in Sensorland, and Sensorian Esperantists consider Geraldes a representative of not only Sensorland, but of their linguistic movement, on the world stage. Knighten, meanwhile, is renowned for his political and social activism outside of his tennis career. The two are known to be good friends, and as a team, they are known for their charisma and efficacy.

Nathalie Baranovic and Bonnie Ziler are still considered up-and-comers in the world of Sensorian tennis, and the two are still developing as a team. Many Sensorians are optimistic about their chances, and see this as an opportunity for them to demonstrate their skills and develop as players.

De la Garza: Not my friend, I'm tired

Clever: Let's go before you make fun of people

De la Garza: You were always that funny right?

Le Floch: I'm leaving good luck * open the door and enter Da Silva and Comman *

Le Floch: Let's calm them down

Clever: You will bother them more, better wait * A shot is heard *

Le Floch: Did everyone calm down?

Security: Luckily yes

Postby Ferret Civilization » Mon Nov 25, 2019 7:05 pm

“While the court is entirely too large for us you will have the complete opposite problem.” Dagmar, who is while it did not matter going by the name Daisy in the language translation change finding the closest easy word to a name meaning day as possible, mentioned while the two wolftaurs in her company looked at her like that was a pretty major understatement. To a ferret the official human used dimensions for a tennis court were massive and the rackets could be as big as they were fully grown. However as history had proved it managed to not be a thing that completely prevented them from winning a lot. “I have no idea what to tell you about playing besides the rules.”

It was a pretty humorous set of practicing runs before they had arrived to Reçueçn to take part in a more serious tournament. TruthCheck and FishCatch had a hard time dealing with the fact that the general court was only three times longer than they were when it came to playing solo whereas Zephyr and Mistral had the opposite problem of the court being a lot bigger than they were. The problem the new ferrets had was one that Daisy could relate to more, considering it was something that she too had to deal with and figure it out without the help of a much more experienced player to advise them on how they could mitigate the work. The other problem was that playing ferrets against wolftaurs did not really help with figuring out how the larger species could effectively play against humans who would most of the time make up their only competition. Something that would have to be entirely winged when the time came to get serious, and while that sort of strategy could and had paid off it was kind of a risky thing to be relying on.

Soon the time came to head off and, “Welcome to Beçonailles.” Daisy said to everyone, while no ferret and certainly no wolftaur had ever been here to this place to their manager’s more experienced eye there was a more familiarity about the city. While it would probably be very wrong to say that every city was starting to look the same there was some general universal traits that they all seemed to share, the most vague of which is that they are large and have a lot of people in them. This time culture shock was most likely not going to be a one way thing depending on the local population, it was kind of amazing that authorities even let other non-humans play as it really should raise a bunch of questions. But it seemed everyone and everything was fine with having those questions left unasked and unanswered simply because in the end they worked. “Are all places going to be this cramped?” FishCatch asked.

The question got a laugh out of the two newer ferrets, “Yes.” Daisy answered, she had told them that it would be that way but actually experiencing just what it was like was a whole other thing. Commendation was also going to be quite expensive now, especially if they were going to be around for a while though not a problem currency wise. They were after some expected trouble able to find a place to stay over the course of the tournament which was the biggest problem that plagued their manager at the time being.

“It is going to be a long stay without having a proper bed to use.” TruthCheck was willing to be the one to complain this time.

“I doubt that you would want to stay in a place meant for horses.” Daisy replied to that, and while none of the new team members knew what a horse was, given the way that it was said it was probably not somewhere that they would want to be staying. So they had to make due with settling in where they were at and make the most out of it. The first night was most likely going to be the hardest and to make it even worse the tournament started the next day against what were most likely the best that all the other nations had to send with the best tennis backgrounds whereas everyone on their team that was playing was completely fresh.

“I wish you all luck.” Daisy told everyone before their matches, it was kind of the one thing that helped the ferret team start off winning all that time ago.

Zephyr had the hardest time starting off, it was one thing to train for it but like with the wolftaurs it was an entirely different thing to be having to deal with in the moment. The entire first set went by with the poor ferret never being able to catch up to the starting mistakes that he had made. Though it seemed like he had learned his lesson fast and managed to lick his wounds because starting the second set he was actually able to put up a fight. It was a good way to keep in shape, having to run like crazy across a large court to swing a heavy racket to hit a ball just right to not lose a game. Once the rhythm was there the ferret was able to hold it just like advised to go on and win the match, which for the first timer was the most adrenaline inducing thing very experienced.

Mistral had the exact opposite starting problem, which Daisy found peculiar since that was something that always haunted the ferret team no matter where they were at and with this it looked like it would continue on with new team members as well. Suppose the more reasonable explanation was that the competition was not in the right state of mind when it came to playing against a ferret, which was forgivable since they were a completely different species. Though come to the second set things flipped around, probably because the right state of mind was achieved, and Mistral ended up losing. In true ferret fashion however she was able to turn things back around and win the tie breaking set in order to also be a first timer winning their first official match. And that was the two ferrets through, either with the beginners luck or the seemingly nature ferret luck it did not matter, the end result with them two was the same being able to see another day on the court against tougher opponents.

When it came to the wolftaurs TruthCheck almost appeared to have a natural talent for a sport that they did not even know about until within their lifetime. He was able to rear himself up and around to avoid trying to make a wider u-turn type maneuver in order to keep up with the back and forth movement that this kind of sport required. He was also able to quickly figure out how to take advantage of his larger stature to hit the ball in the air where most others would not even try to since it was quick to be figured out that he and by extension FishCatch could not hit the ball when it was low to the ground. Which was one of those other the exact opposite problems that ferrets had but Daisy was able to learn from that to think about ways to help potential future wolftaur tennis players if everything went well. In the end he was able to practically own the court for the day, winning with just two sets which outshined what the new ferrets were able to do.

Though things seemed to be balanced out when it came around to FishCatch, who was in the end unable to win her match and being the only one to lose out of the four of them. Daisy figured someone was going to lose, and was even prepared for all of them to lose but fate never seemed to do them in like that, and only one of them losing was a good sign that potential was there. It was a consoling fact to the wolftaur that she was at least able to put up some resistance to simply outright losing.

“Where did you learn moves like that?” Zephyr asked TruthCheck after hearing about what he was able to do on the court.

“From the line of work that I did before I wanted to see what this would be like.” TruthCheck answered, and seeing what the next question would be answered preemptively, “Detective.”

“Sounds like a lot of fun stories you have to tell.” Zephyr said afterwards.

Though at the time storytime would have to wait, the group discussed what it was probably going to be like working together when it came around to the doubles side of this tournament. It would probably be the one area where their extreme size difference could be used as a boon rather than something that just gave opposite problems. One thing that would work well if done correctly was the fact that ferrets were short enough to run under a wolftaur without even having to duck giving them an advantage if one of them had to run for a ball that was either high or low.

But even then that time was not now, and in maintaining an old team tradition Daisy invited the rest of the group to go out and see just what the city had to offer. It was going to be an especially interesting since the new members had never seen what a human city was like, leaving Beçonailles to be the place that left first impressions on what to expect other places to be like.
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

First Round Result, 2 Advance to Next Stage

Beçonailles, Recuecn - On Monday the First Round of Championnats Nationaux de Reçueçn de Tennis or Beçonailles Tennis Tournament was held. The result has been predicted before with Ngurah Putra Muliawan and Dewa Putu Adrian Putra advance to the Second Round. Meeting Clancy Joe of Arnic, Ngurah Putra Muliawan get an upper hand and manage to control the whole match right from the start of first set. Joe was seen to be a little confused and trapped inside Muliawan's playing style which ease Muliawan to control the ball. Muliawan win easily with straight sets of 6-1 and 6-1.

On the other hand, Pemecutan lead female player, Maria Sophia Lubis has to struggle in her first match. Able to secured the first set with 6-4, Lubis appeared to lose focus on the second set. This situation was taken by Valka Nalstad to control the match. Nalstad eventually take the second set by 4-6. On the third set, Lubis continued her unforced errors which advantage Nalstad. The Fujaian player able to lead far by 3-0 before Lubis stole one game. Lubis lack of focus cost her the third set with 3-6.

A tight match was present between Dewa Putu Adrian Putra and Paulina McCartney of Christos. McCartney able to control the first set and gives little space to Putra to expand his played. Putra was in continues suppress during the first set which lead to McCartney victory of 6-3. Putra able to reverse the situation in the second set. Although McCartney still manage to gives great moves but Putra always able to finished the games better. The second set was longer than the first one as there were many games that ended in deuce positions. Putra manage to grab the second set by 6-0. McCartney didn't back down in the third set. She manage to control on the start of third set although Putra still available to stole some games from her. The situation gets tight when the third set went to 5-5 deuce. Putra smooth lob on the 11th game give him the game, 6-5 for Putra. But when the situation appeared to be on Putra's side during the 12th game, McCartney able to stole the game and continued the deuce. The next two games were finished in a tight deuce, although eventually Putra manage to take over both games and won the third set. The match was finished with Putra's victory by 3-6, 6-0 and 8-6.

The last Pemecutanian single, Luh Putu Yundari meet Toby Carlsten of Sensorland yesterday. Begin the match, Yundari seems to be out of focus and the situation gives Carlsten confidence to suppress Yundari performance. Yundari eventually lost the first set by 1-6. In the second set, Yundari try to be more focus on her play. But the more confidence Carlsten seems to be harder to defeated. Yundari manage to push some games into deuce although her finishing still under performed. Yundari once again lost the second game by 3-6 which makes her unable to advance to the second round.

In the second day of the tournament, The Single Competition will enter the Second Round match while The Double Competition will begin their First Round. Ngurah Putra Muliawan will be playing against Con Towers from West Phoenicia. And Dewa Putu Adrian Putra meet Bolgano player Leeds Conman. While in Double Competition, Pemecutanian top double, Komang Antari/Kadek Andreawati will meet Riel Wolspowski/Dino Cuesta of Bolgano. And Eka Putrawan/Dwi Ratmadi will be playing against the host double player, Adelinde Günther/Lucas Magnier.

West Phoenicia,

Gabe Glenwood scoffed down the last of his dinner. After a long day of work, he was too exhausted to cook anything elaborate.
He zapped a mac and cheese in the microwave, hooing into it over the sink as if the food was going out of fashion. While listening to his favourite playlist on Spotify.
He tossed the container into his rubbish bin and grabbed a can of Mother energy drink from the fridge, before trotting through his bedroom to reach his balcony. He was in need of a cigarette, he switched his phone to check in on his current favourite social media app Vibr.

He flipped through his list of favourite live steamers, Angel Lee was currently logged on and was streaming. He double clicked to enter her stream under his login name Golden Calf.

"Love you all, keep pressing the hearts button to increase my popularity today!!!" Angel Lee cooed at the surge of people who were joining her live steam.

Angel Lee twirled her hair behind her ear, laughed as she blew kisses into the screen as fans praised her appearance and her opinions. She continued to lean in to read what has been written on the screen, "awwww love you too honey" she said to one of her fans, who complimented her pale pink eyeshadow.

"Hey Kiss22, Hey Jive Bunny, Hey Golden Calf and Dirtylilgirl69," Angel Lee said acknowledging the newbies who entered the room, many who were long time fans and watchers.

"Who wants to jump in the box and chat to me face to face, instead of you having to type?" She ran her hand through her freshly dyed hair, she had opted for mermaid hair after polling her fans.she loved the popping blue, green, purple and a dash of pink.

"Thank you Cuddles007, i think it looks groovy too! And it better have, set me back $500. Aww Cuddle007 I love your profile photo, is that your pussycat.

Angel Lee leaned in to read another message that popped up on her screen, " Hi Dannyboi, long time no see. Yes Roselynd and I are still besties. She was in a skiing accident last week, and pulled her back out. So she is flat out on her back on painkillers."

Angel Lee burst into fits of giggles as she read a comment by Darth Underwear who had a number of chatters responding with LMAO's.

"Totally agree Darth baby, she is known to favour being on her back. Ho, she giggled. Angel Lee chortled, flourishing her arms. "Stop, I'm gonna Pee my panties if I keep laughing. "GoldenCalf jump in the box, let's chat and flash that hot dimpled grin at the gorgeous ladies in my livestream.

GoldenCalf clicked an invite button to allow access into her live steam box. "Evening all," he said waving into the screen at the people who were watching. The number count read 200 people watching Angel Lee's live.

"So Golden, are you going to be watching the tennis tomorrow. My favs Kamal Dallas and Tiffany Love are playing their first double match tomorrow. Fingers crossed they do well."

"Aren't they Olympic Champions?" Golden Calf asked. He sucked on his cigarette blowing out a stream of smoke. He wasn't overly a tennis fan. He was a huge supporter of baseball, but the West Phoenician team The Confederates were sucking majorly lately.

"Gold medal winners honey. I love anything sports, especially when we pull in those lovely colours of gold, silver and bronze. Fingers crossed they play a great game against…"Angel Lee snapped her fingers, "Who they playing?"

Angel peered back at the screen to read "not West Phoenician so who cares. Another chatter confirmed the match up was against Jora Victorovich and Zenka Victorovich of Baranil.

"Anyone got an Atlas. Some one type Baranil into Google. And be sure to check out the match. My cousins friends mother in law works for orbe d'or chocolate cafe in Orlèans Parks; Bourbon-Versailles. It's this really small and very expensive and exclusive cafe. This mother in law works with the aunt of Tiffany Love. She says she is as sweet as her name."

Angel Lee paused to take a sip of her energy diet cola. She sipped seductively using a straw.

"You are so much hotter than Tiffany," Golden Calf smiled with a wink. His comment had fans typing in agreement.

Angel Lee returned his smile and wink with one of her own. She peered at the screen, and furrowed her brow in disgust.

"MegaMole that's disgusting. I'm not asking cousins friends mother in law to ask for a pair of Tiffany's panties. Can one of my bouncers boot this losseeerrr. No losers in my stream."

"I would love to be in Tiffany's place. Kamal Dallas is such a babe. I love his all year tan. And I wanna run my hands through his black wavy hair."

Angel Lee sexing ran a finely manicured nails over her lips and pouted at her fans. "Ohhh he is so sexy. I would love a private lesson with him and get my hands on his racquet."

"Wanna place a bet on tomorrow's doubles match?" Golden Calf asked.

"I'm interested, tell me more sexy."

"If they lose, you say yes to a date with me."

"And if they win?"

"What would you like?"

Angel Lee ran a hand through her hair, waving at the screen as new people joined. She smiled as she read the comments from fans telling her what to ask for."

"My fans want a striptease, down to your boxers," Angel Lee teased.

Golden Calf blushed but accepted the agreement "If Kamal Dallas and Tiffany Love win, I'll do striptease.

Angel Lee clapped excitedly. "Ok peeps, keep those hearts and gifts coming. I'm gonna pause the stream for a minute. I need to go tinkle."

Expected results at the first round for the Kriegiersien players.

Timo Test won a set against Oleksandr Ilyinishna, but had to give up his dream against the top-seeded player from Baranil after a hard fight, while Min Driel won against Slava Mitrovich from the same nation.
"Thanks to my new Blade Super Pro I was able to dominate the match", Min Driel promoted his sponsor Super Spin, who provides him with rackets.
"This new model from Super Spin is light, enhances control and helps me with my powerful play”

Super Spin, the Kriegiersien manufacturer of rackets in all sort of sports, is interested to show the superiority of his products at the championship.
Only the durability seems to be a problem, as Min Driel wasted 2 of them in the match.

Mr. Handy also lost his match as expected, Renee Richardson from West Phoenicia was too good for him. „He was moving so fast, even the flag on his clothes was only a blur for me. Or maybe my oculus is damaged“, Mr. Handy stated after the match.

But Amanda Acemonster won her marathon match against Orianne Jégou from Recuecen with 14:12 in the last set.
„I thought we would play a Tie Break and then the match just didn’t end. And the crowd was cheering for my opponent and the journey here.. I still have a jet lag. My serve wasn’t working till the end...it was really stressful. I am so happy I survived the first round, but now I am done..”, said a shaken, but relieved and exhausted Amanda.

With Abelie Fontan now a young Top player from the host awaits her in the next round, while Min Driel is further the favorite against Zoey Porter from Arnic.
"If Amanda regenerates, can calm down her nerves and make use of her serve, she may have a chance. This is a real test for her”, said Coach Pournikova. “I am not worried for Min Driel. He is an ace.”
„If the game gets difficult, I will aim for her head“, Min Driel joked, referring to an accident in the Arnic team before the tournament.

While Basti Falk and Tim Tim are favored in their first match against Katina Gallion and Madeleine Quinn from Lisander, Min Driel and his new partner Papadopulous are starting with a real big test in the first Doubles round against Camille and Inès Fournier.

Day 1: Going in to the tournament at Beçonailles, Reçueçn provided the most athletes of any participating nation. That was only to be expected: after all, the tournament was being held in their country. However, out of the Reçuecians at the tournament, only the same number of athletes as any other nation present had actually competed internationally before. Those four--Berthelot, Fontana, Sellier, and Le Floch--have performed better than the rest of their compatriots, perhaps thanks to their greater previous experience playing against foreigners. Le Floch, once Reçuecian tennis's greatest star, is the only one of those four who has already been eliminated. The other three have made it to the round of thirty-two. They will face fiercer competition this next round, so we will see how that goes.

Day 2 also sees the doubles competition kick off. Some of the doubles athletes have already gotten their feet wet in the singles competition, but others have registered only for this competition and will be starting their participation today. The Fournier siblings will be facing off against a doubles pair from Kriegiersien. The brother and sister will be aiming to make their family proud and advance to the octofinals. Tournament attendees have been catching glimpses of them hanging out around the courts--grabbing coffee together, listening to music, practicing against each other, and catching some of the singles matches. It's clear that the pair are very close, and their fans love to see that.

Here's to hoping that round two sees the locals continue to advance!

Two Baranillians Advance and You Already Know Who They Are

Image
Boris Yenin celebrating his victory.

I feel prophetic now.

As I thought would happen, national tennis stars Oleksandr Ilyinishna and Boris Yenin cruised through to the 2nd round winning 6-4 4-6 6-1 and 6-3 6-1 respectively whilst Prokhor Borisovich and Slava Mitrovich were both embarrassed in 2 sets by their opponents. If this is the quality of tennis that we will observe once Oleksandr Ilyinshna and Boris Yenin retire then I worry for the future of Baranillian tennis, I really do.

Watching Slava Mitrovich's get slapped around the court by Min Driel made me embarrassed to be Baranillian as the utterly pathetic display that he put on can be simplified into one word: diabolical.

I understand that neither Slava Mitrovich nor Prokhor Borisovich are experienced in tennis, but I thought that one of them may have been able to scrape a set or at least send it to a tiebreaker, however, the scorecards shows that i was very, very wrong in thinking that.

I cannot say that I am too confident in our participants in the doubles tournament either, though I will wait until the results for their matches come in before I state my opinions on what happened.

On a lighter note, I grant a huge congratulations to Boris Yenin and Oleksandr Ilyinishna for their excellent performances today and wish them the best of luck in their second round matches against Clarence Zhu and Thubayt Berthelot respectively.

Let's just hope that our established players are able to do our nation proud and maybe even bring home the trophy.

The Elliot City Reporter
SENSORLAND WINS BIG IN DAY 2 OF BEÇONAILLES

BEÇONAILLES, REÇUEÇN - Athletes in the Sensorland League of Tennis performed well on day 2 of the Reçuecian tennis tournament at Beçonailles.

Sensorland sent four singles players and two doubles teams to the tournament, with two singles players eliminated on day one. Anabel Belitz, one of Sensorland's most renowned players, and Gia Hesler, considered a rising star in the world of Sensorian tennis, were both eliminated. Belitz's loss came as a surprise upset by fellow Sensorian Jerome Yurman, who has now attracted a wide following as Sensorland's "underdog" player. Toby Carlsten, who has placed first in the Sensoria Tennis Championships four of the last five years, also saw great success on day one.

On day two, Carlsten faced off against Reçuecian athlete Hildebrant Weisgerber, winning handily with all the skill, style, and flair Sensorians have come to expect of the "King of Tennis". Meanwhile, Yurman faced off against Mistral Ridge, a ferret from Ferret Civilization. The match was closer, but Yurman pulled out another victory, to the delight of cheering fans from all over Sensorland.

In the doubles round, the dynamic duo of Johano Geraldes and Ernest Knighten handily won against their Reçuecian opponents, Ottilia Canepa and Flora Rendina. On his victory, Geraldes had this to say: "Sensorlandaj tenisistoj estas lertecaj kaj agemaj. Ni montras al la mondo ke ni estas fortaj!" We'll leave it to the reader to translate Geraldes' statements, given in Esperanto, as he is wont to do despite also speaking English natively. Knighten and Geraldes threw a party in honor of all the Sensorian victories of the day, and invited all the athletes at the tournament to attend. Also in the doubles tournament are Sensorians Nathalie Baranovic and Bonnie Ziler, who faced off against a Reçuecian duo of Esterina Picarelli and Tristan Delisle, winning the match after losing the first set.

Sensorians are excited for Day 3 of the tournament, now having high expectation for their players. Fans of Yurman in particular are hoping to see him advance in his next match against Andrés Da Silva, a star player from Bolgano. Carlsten will be playing Joey Duster, from Arnic, and analysts expect it to be a close match. Carlsten, however, doesn't seem worried. "I love tennis," the star athlete said, "and the court is where I feel most at ease." Baranovic and ZIler will be facing off against Arnician players Kris and Tony Florence, while Geraldes and Knighten will be playing against Pemecutan's Komang Antari and Kadek Andreawati.

"Man, did you see they spelled my name wrong in the program? Even on the scoreboards they didn't freaking get it right..." Abelie Fontana was pissed. Yesterday she had won a match in straight sets against Gia Hesler, a contestant from Sensorland, but somehow that was not enough to get her in a good mood--it was pretty clear the stress over her upcoming game was hanging over her.

"I've contacted the tournament organizers," offered her coach, trying to soothe her. "It'll be correct this time."

"They even messed up the draw," went on Abelie. "Those two Sensorians played each other in the first round and today there's a pair of Lisanderians playing against each other."

"Well it's too late to do anything about that, and it doesn't really affect you, anyhow. You just need to focus on your own game. It'll be a tough one."

This much was certainly true. In Gia Hesler, Abelie had faced an opponent who, like herself, was a young, rising star. Both were looking to go further than the bookies expected them to, and Abelie had managed to swing things her way. After strongly controlling the first set, where she gave up only two games, Abelie had seemed more tired in the second set, behind 4-3, before winning the last three games, all of which went to deuce. But now, she would be facing Amanda Acemonster from Kriegiersien. Acemonster was coming of a crazy game where the third set went twenty-six games (tiebreakers not being in use for the final set of each match). One might hope that Acemonster would be tired and fatigued after such a long match, but in fact, she began to look stronger only towards the end. That kind of endurance would be dangerous against Fontana, who had struggled to close out only her second set.

It was a beautiful day and the warmth of the sun shining down on the courts could be felt under one's feet as Abelie and Amanda took their places at 11:00 am that morning to see which one of them would be able to make it to the round of sixteen. The contrast of their bright rackets and clean uniforms against the clay courts made a sharp picture on tv screens, broadcasting the match around Reçueçn as the nation's new favorite shook hands with Amanda across the net. Journalists' cameras fired away rapidly from the sidelines, waiting for that picture to put on the front page, alerting the nation whether their champion had won or lost.

Abelie was in an interesting place. On the one hand, she was one of only a handful of Reçuecians left in the singles' competition, so the crowd was behind her. But on the other hand, she was not the home-town kid. She had come from the other end of the country for this tournament, and didn't even understand most of the encouragements being shouted to her in French from the stands.

The match began with Fontana serving, and she aced the first game, and broke Acemonster's serve on the second. Things were looking good. In the eighth game with a 5-2 lead, she confidently won another break to win the set.

The second set started a bit differently. Acemonster came back refreshed psychologically and physically, while Abelie didn't seem to have recovered. She put up a good fight, but in the eighth game lost the break, falling further behind 5-3 to lose the set and tie things up the game after.

And the predictions about stamina were right. In the third set, it was Acemonster's turn to win a double service break, leaving Fontana in a crumpled pile of disappointment and anger on the court--eliminated from the tournament. As she failed to return the ball in the last volley of the match, Abelie crossly flung her racket on the ground, hot tears beginning to well in her eyes and then stream down her face as she threw herself on the ground. The photos in the newspaper accompanying the "Fontana Out" headline were not those of the pre-match handshake, but of her post-match interview--hair and outfit mussed, face red, eyes wet, and dirt showing on her clothes from where she had lain on the clay. Reactions were very mixed.

"She's only a teenager," said her fans. "We can't expect everything from her, and her passion is a good sign. Let's see where she is next year."

"This is a disgusting display of a lack of professionalism," said many commentators (some of whom were later forced to retract their words when accused of misogyny, but others of whom doubled down on their statements, mourning the descent of the sport). "She needs to get her act together or stay off the court."

Abelie herself had a lot to say in the heat of the moment but was wisely ushered away by her coaches to think over what had happened. Presumably in a couple days she will release a more tempered press statement. In the meantime, Reçueçians will be turning their attention to Sellier and Berthelot, the two nationals to have made it to the 3rd round of the singles competition. Thibaut Berthelot will now have his turn to face off against Amanda Acemonster, who to this point, by some weird coincidence, has only played matches against Reçueçians.

Amanda Acemonster with surprising win, Min Driel disappoints

After again three sets Amanda Acemonster won a further hard match against Abelie Fontana. Now the next player from Recuecen, Thibaut Berthelot awaits.
„It would be great to play against someone from outside Recuecen, but I am happy that I was able to win“, Amanda stated.
And she could ensure that herself, by winning the next match and coming closer to an Olympic qualification.

For Min Driel the whole day was a wasted one.
After losing surprisingly against Zoey Porter, winning only the second set, he also lost in three sets against Camille and Inés Fournier in the doubles.
“I am sorry that I couldn’t bring my level of play on the court today. I apologize to Papa (Papadopulous Dee) for failing him so hard”, a sad Min Driel said.

Basti Falk and Tim on the other hand reached the second round after two fast sets and cemented their position as best Kriegiersen duo.
Both stayed humble.
“We are just trying our best and are thinking from game to game”, explained Tim, while Basti was already sleeping on a nearby bench to recover and relax with energy drinks and energy bars around him.

Edit:
The next round matches had already started after deadline
Amanda Acemonster lost her third round match 2-6, 4-6, while Falk and Tim won 7-5, 6-2 and are now facing Adrian Fasch and Malcom Leftwich from Bolgano.

Postby Ferret Civilization » Wed Nov 27, 2019 4:33 pm

It was a rather fun first night out with one ferret having to explain pretty much everything about everything to the other four in their party. But in the end it was a nice way to keep the stress away and focus on the more lighthearted stuff that really mattered in the end. This kind of career was supposed to be something that was to be looked forward to instead of it just being a job. The following morning, everyone would get to play again and see what would happen against the players that proved to know what they were doing on the court against new faces. Once it was morning it did feel like it was going to be a good day, TruthCheck got an early wake up call by slamming his head against the top of a doorway and muttered about how he would probably not be getting used to these kinds of places if that was all they had to look forward to.

The day somewhat expectedly did not turn out to be so good after that, despite having a strong lead starting the middle of her match and tie breaking match Mistral was unable to keep the effort needed up and lost everything. It was those kind of matches that felt the worst given the amount of energy needed to not only get things to a tie breaking set but to have to push even further to fall when it came time for a tie breaking couple of games to determine the set. The other wolftaur still in the singles side of things fared even worse, losing two sets and the match without much of an ability to change what was happening on the court. Leaving it to Zephyr who also appeared like would end in another loss completely knocking out the team here given how things started off for him. Though things would not end up getting that rough, starting the second set the ferret was able to finally turn the whole day around and push back. Not only just turn things around temporarily with fate being cruel in the tie breaker but all the way to win the match to have so the Salmagundi team would see another day on the courts at the very least.

When it came to the doubles side of things though Zephyr and FishCatch were unable to break their competition who probably had the home field advantage while they had the beginners disadvantage. After their loss FishCatch pretty much felt like that was a sign that maybe this would not be the path for her to take. While Zephyr nor Daisy blamed her for the loss they understood why the feeling would be that way. Mistral and TruthCheck, despite their singles side loss just earlier that day, were able to work well enough together to be the ones to break their competition rather than it being the other way around.

“We never really succeeded much starting off either, it was mostly lucky breaks that started us off.” Daisy explained how things were started so long ago after the day was over. “There were a few times were it was just me after the first rounds still in the tournament. Few times I was still able to win for my team as well.”

“Bah, feels like tomorrow we will just be packing up and this will be a huge wasted effort.” Zephyr said, not wanting to be the one that had to play through the whole tournament alone and he did not feel like he would be the kind of player Daisy was on top of that.

“Well if you feel that way there is nothing to stop you from throwing the next match, you do not have to be here if you do not want to. But at least now that I have seen you in action I know a lot more things I can do to help all of you hopefully be better players.”

They still had the night to enjoy before the next day started, so that is what the group did immersing themselves in what Beçonailles had to offer. Without having to worry about the adverse effects of local food messing up their future games as badly as possible they all got to taste what the city had to offer as well. With the one experienced among them hardly hiding the entertainment that this little outing brought.

The morning came and all eyes were on Zephyr, the only one still going to be playing in the singles side of this tournament and the one to decide if it was going to be worth the effort. He figured it was worth a shot even if it ended up blowing up in their faces right afterwards. Having a group of people there to support someone on the court must have had a good effect because the ferret ended up managing to not only get a strong start but hold onto it so well that the match was over in just two sets. Throwing a ferret into the Quarterfinals.

“Starting to think that it should be a stereotype that ferrets are so good on clay courts with no real experience backing them up.” Daisy mused to Zephyr and Mistral after what had happened. Of course things could always still blow up, but at least they could say it was on their terms rather than the other way around.

When it came to the doubles side of things Mistral and TruthCheck had the good fight in the doubles side of things but in the end they were unable to take the tie breaking games to win the set. After that things were pretty much called, for now wolftaurs would not really be seeing a lot of the professional courts until better techniques could be devised and implemented. With a lot less zeal the second set was lost as well ending the day on that note. Which left everything up to Zephyr.

“You did not all lose on the first day without much of a fight and that was the bare minimum I think I could ask for you given the history that set the bar. So I am proud of what you were able to do and try.” Daisy said afterwards. The reason they tried this in the first place was not even to win but to see if two species could work together in a foreign environment without much precedent to guide them along. That and also to see if there was interest in an exotic sport amongst a new potential field of players, to which there was some so that was already a success. “Zephyr you should be especially proud of yourself, getting to where you are at without playing professional beforehand.”

With all said and done, most of them were happy with what they were able to try and pull off and all of them were happy with at least taking the shot in the dark. That and just like how the last team looked at things when they did not go so well was at least it was a free vacation into a new and exciting place. To which they had yet another night to see what this place had to offer.
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

Renee Richardson raised her right hand in the air flashing the victory sign to her fans in the stands.
Round three had been a success. She had defeated Dewa Putu Adrian Putra of
Pemecutan 6-7, 7-6, 6-4.
The first two sets had been tough; the Pemecutan was no amateur as she grunted her way to the first set victory that left sweat pouring from her body and soaking her purple sweat headband.

She took a large swallow of water from a bottle her assistant handed her, followed by a towel to wipe herself down.
It was great to be back on the tennis circuit, while she had participated in the last Summer Olympic Games in The Free Republics and had stunned the nation by pulling off an amazing run and walking away with a gold medal.

The West Phoenician Tennis Federation had slapped her with three month ban on international tournaments due to her use of foul language on the court. She was trying to improve, but her fans loved the drama she brought to the Court, and she needed to impress her fans and keep their support.

Three months away from any competition had made her lazy, she had even missed some practise sessions finding them unimportant, her aching muscles now wished she had kept to her regular routine. She had nearly lost today, she got sloppy, she couldn't let that happen again, if she wanted to take out the tournament.
She slung the towel over her shoulder as she waved to the crowd. Her assistant was a few steps behind carrying her tennis bag. She was going to go for a nice massage to work at her muscles. The quarterfinals were next and she was going up against Zephyr Snow of The Ferret Civilization who was breezing through the competition. They were going to be tough to beat, a massage and some more practise this evening was on the cards, anything to give her that extra edge.

Before she exited, she ripped her headband off and hurled into towards her fans, who made a mad frenzy dash to grab it.

Only A Single Remain

Beçonailles, Recuecn - Following the Third Match Day of Beçonailles Tennis Tournament, Pemecutanian players feel the intense and tight competition. When every players wants to show their best performance and just a light mistake could end up in the losing side. These situation happened to some of Pemecutanian players that played on the Third Match Day. One single player and both doubles were lost with only one other single player remain. Ngurah Putra Muliawan become the only Pemecutanian player who remain in the competition and advance to Quarterfinal.

In Single Competition, Dewa Putu Adrian Putra have to played a very tight match against Renee Richardson from West Phoenicia. In the first set, Putra manage to rise to victory after a 7-6 win in an intense 6-6 deuce position. The situation happen again in the second set. Even though Putra try to finished the match by also taking the second set, But Richardson seems to have a better advantage in the second set. Putra made a few errors during their 6-6 deuce which led to Richardson victory. Putra condition decrease rapidly in the third set. Although he still manage to gives effort and takes several game but Richardson seems to already controlled the match right after the second set. Putra has to acknowledge Richardson better performance in the third set and surrender by 4-6.

On the other hand, Ngurah Putra Muliawan met host player, Gaëlle Sellier. The first set begin in a tight setting when both players alternately take a game. Muliawan seems to be a little unfocused and the situation cost him the next 2 games. Sellier take the set by 7-5. Although losing in the first set, Muliawan rise up in the second set. He manage to control the set and didn't gives Sellier room to improve his performance. Sellier looks depressed and he continued to make unforced errors. The situation gives advantage to Muliawan and he eventually win the second set by 2-6. Muliawan continue with his great performance during the third set. Sellier was able to breakaway from Muliawan controled. But he unable to bring his performance back like how he played in the first set earlier. Muliawan confidence makes him put much efforts to cut Sellier shot and made him unable to reply Muliawan's shot. The third set finished with Muliawan victory by 1-6. The result make him advance to the Quarterfinal.

While in Double Competition, both Pemecutanian teams have a similar fate to end up in the Second Round. Eka Putrawan/Dwi Ratmadi played and intense match against Christos's double Zahir Holmes/Paul Holden. Even though they manage to push 6-6 setting but Holmes/Holden still have a better performance than them. On the second set, Putrawan/Ratmadi performance deteriorated. They were easily defeated with 1-6 by Holmes/Holden. Meanwhile, Pemecutanian best double team, Komang Antari/Kadek Andreawati have the same fate. They were losing the first set against Johano Geraldes/Ernest Knighten of Sensorland with 3-6. The lost was mostly because of Andreawati bad performance. She makes numerous errors. She make up her performance in the second set and manage to give a better play. The second set went into 5-5 setting. When the crucial points happens, both Antari and Andreawati made some errors which makes Geraldes/Knighten win the set and the match.

With only one player remain, all the wishes and hopes are given to Ngurah Putra Muliawan. On the Quarterfinal, he will be playing against Oleksandr Ilyinishna from Baranil.
