Sadeg City, morning of the Sevendia v. Silver Beach match

"Hey guys! Up here!" Said the fraternity leader, Zayit Matz.

There was no formal ultras group that supported the Silverian national team. With the team not a WCC nation, and the IAC usually taking place too far away to make a difference, it was usually small ultra groups would form for a tournament and then immediately fall apart. Was that the likely fate of this ultras group? Yes. But it would be a fun experiment, wouldn't it?

Who were these people? 165 young men, all part of the same three Greek life fraternities at Zion University- Delta Alpha Delta, Theta Tau Theta, and Alpha Omega Omega. With the qualifiers happening over the course of two weeks in May(on the Silverian calendar), they figured they could take a vacation to Drawkland and enjoy the qualifiers while getting to see Sadeg and the rest of Drawkland. They could see Sadeg State University as well, Sonnel's NSCF school and former NSCAA champions.

What would these young men do? Besides seeing Sadeg, they'd provide rabid support for the Silverian national team. Greek life unity at their university, a trip of a lifetime. And, of course, cheering on the men in blue and white. Miraculously, the FASB was able to get them recognized as a fan group for this tournament, so they were able to buy primary seating all together in blocks for all four qualifiers.

"I'm passing out the chantbook for the match tonight. Learn your chants! We want them to hear us- we want to see Sevendian running down their faces tonight. And what's the dress code?"

The dress code was the same. They yelled "Orin Set!" Everybody was going to wear Orin Set jerseys- because he had a big #8 on the front, a number that scared Sevendians. May as well, get the chance to trigger them while possible. "Remember, we march at 5, from here to the stadium." Matz yelled. "Inside the stadium, give the chant book to as many Silverian fans as you can find- the more, the merrier. Go Silver Beach!"

Dear President Jaffacake and all esteemed committee members,

I write to you today in regards to the Unofficial World Championship. I write to you in regards to our regional member and neighbor, the proud Sonnel nation of Al Qurija, who are currently the undisputed Unofficial Lineal world champions. Holders of the original belt. They have won it, fair and squarely, and for many years, have been away from the international football scene, simply holding onto the belt.

And now, they are firmly and squarely back in the scene of international football. They are participating in competitive, regional matches- the 7 Nations Cup Qualifiers. If you do not know what the 7 Nations Cup is, that is OK. It is the regional championships for the esteemed planet of Sonnel, one of NS Sports premier sporting regions if you do not include the traditional and self-appointed "Big 3" of Atlantian Oceania, Esportiva, and Rushmore. Just because they're older, does not mean that they are better.

We, here in Silver Beach, believe that their 7 Nations Cup Qualifiers, as high-level competitive international matches, should count as competitive matches in terms of Unofficial world title defense. Here is the rational. The primary concern for the rulebook is that the title is defended in a competitive international. This makes sense- losing the title in a friendly would be a farce. And it's not just WCC matches- four regional tournaments are explicitly recognized.

The 7 Nations Cup is stronger than all of those tournaments. What other regional tournament uses qualifying to determine their final participants? In fact, the use of Qualifying simply enhances this tournament- even the top level tournaments in other sports, like the World Bowl, World Baseball Classic, the IBCs, or even the World Cup of Hockey or the Rugby Union World Cup, don't use qualifying. Anyone can enter. Only two tournaments in this day and age have the required prestige to use qualifiers- the actual World Cup, and the 7 Nations Cup.

That alone demands respect. There is high quality intense football being played here in Drawkland. That alone demands the respect of this committee. Therefore, we humbly write you asking to rectify this immediately, asking that this tournament and these qualifiers be added to the 7NC rulebook.

There are two possible solutions to rectify.

Option #1- Immediately rectify this and immediately recognize Silver Beach as Unofficial World Champions

Now, of course, you may ask- why would we recognize Silver Beach as Unofficial world champions? Let's take a look at the data. If we backtrack to the beginning of 7 Nations Cup Qualifying, Al Qurija entered group B as the Unofficial world champions. They successfully had a title defense on Matchday 1, defeating the Pripet Socialist Republic by a score of two goals to nil.

Then, on Matchday 2, they put the title up for a defense against Sevendia in another competitive international. Sevendia defeated them by a score of three goals to nil. They should have been recognized at that moment as Unofficial world champions.

Then, on Matchday 3, they immediately defended the title against us. We beat them 5 goals to 2 on Matchday 3, our most recent matchday. They lost the title at their first defense. WE believe that this option makes the most sense to follow, and that we should be immediately recognized as Unofficial World champions.

Rectifying this would be well within the purview of the committee, and would be a just exercise of their powers to ensure that Silver Beach earning this title is properly recognized. It would not be competitively fair or unfair to Al Qurija to go backwards here, as these were competitive internationals.

Option #2- Make Al Qurija's next match an Unofficial World Championship match, and all future matches in this tournament eligible for UWC purposes

This would be the not as good option, but it is still a legitimate remedy. Matchday 4, Al Qurija is off. Their next matchday would be on Matchday 5, against Silver Beach. This way, they would have advance notice of defending their title, and nobody can raise any questions or issues with Al Qurija's defense. And, of course, the 7NC would be generally recognized as an eligible tournament, so if Silver Beach won and qualified for the next round, then we could defend the title in the tournament proper, and the same is true if Al Qurija had held onto the title.

And if Al Qurija holds the title and they don't qualify, they will take it into World Cup Qualifying. Everybody wins! But it is the fairest and legitimate way for the Unofficial World Championship Committee to both recognize the 7 Nations Cup as a legitimate tournament, and ensure that the title is defended in all competitive internationals.

Josiah Buba Pre Game Press Conference against Al Qurija

Silver Standard: Josiah, three wins from three games, all in increasingly emphatic fashion, from Qualifying so far. Silver Beach is all but in- only a loss by 5 goals or more could keep us out of the 7 Nations Cup proper. What has been the secret to success during Qualifying so far?

Josiah Buba: Well, everybody has bought into what we're trying to show them. This is a team that is focused on winning, and nothing else. We have come here with a sense of unity and purpose. We were a 1 seed, yes- we got to avoid teams like Juvencus here in Qualifying. But this was still a tough group. Nobody predicted that the United Pink States and the Pripet Socialist Republic would struggle like they did, yet here they were.

And we had to earn our win against the Pripet Socialist Republic. They are a difficult opponent. They defended well and compactly, and they showed us that they are capable of countering. It was a credit to us that we were able to get a last minute winner and get out of there with all three points, to ensure a good start to the tournament. That didn't get us down though- the late winner, even against an inferior opponent, gave us confidence. And in our last two games, we've scored 5 goals each and won by margins of 3 and 4, respectively. We've showed that we can control a game for a full 90 minutes, even against a high quality opponent like Sevendia.

Silver Standard: How do you think we'll do at the 7NC proper, assuming we qualify?

Josiah Buba: Well, we haven't qualified yet- I don't count my chickens before they hatch. We have plenty of work to do against Al Qurija, who have shown that they are a good team via their wins over the Pripet Socialist Republic and the United Pink States. And, of course, they came into the tournament as Unofficial world champions. But we're going to have to take it up another level. Good performances in qualifying are good, but nobody remembers qualifying.

Legacies and legends are made in major tournaments, not in qualifiers. We'll go home for two months, see our families, prepare and train, and then come back to Drawkland in August(on the Silverian calendar) for the 7NC. But don't expect this type of success we've seen here. We'll play only the best Sonnel has to offer. Teams like Almuzahara and Juvencus have a ton of talent, and Silver Beach has played Drawkland 6 times, yet never once come away with a victory. It's hard to say. But considering our bronze last time, and if we can have another emphatic performance here, nobody will underestimate us. People will respect us, and it will be a fight to reach the semifinals.

Zion Post: Josiah, last question. You talked a lot about squad rotation before, but you've ran out the same starting XI for the last three games. Will you rotate your squad tonight?

Josiah Buba: I plan on doing a lot of squad rotation tonight. Got to get more players more playing time- got to see what they can do in a competitive international, as we prepare for the 7NC Finals. Earning qualification today will be good, but it will only be a first step. We believe that we are capable of being the best team in Sonnel, despite us not being members of the WCC, and developing depth is one of the ways we can orient this program towards that goal.

The Upper Sunrisian national rendezvous is a group of players from the Upper Sunrisian football scene that decided to cause havoc abroad under the excuse of a multinational travel trip. In theory, the team should be one of the best in the whole multiverse, but sadly its' members aren't quite good enough to use everything their avatars have in their possession to dominate a game.

As a result of the high-tech avatars they use for a team, replacements aren't necessary and injuries are quite literally non-existent as they can self-fix themselves if need be. Godmodding is acceptable, the team itself is obviously not very serious, but don't take any of them out.
