By the way, if anyone wants to interview my athletes (Frankie Bradley and the Romero guy whose name I forgot would be good options, just a recommendation), you can TG me, or DM me on Discord.
I'm a dude.
Also, call me Amuaplye, not Amuapyle, or Amu.

We'll look into why accents aren't displaying properly on the Yeaddin results.

The Olympic records list has been updated. Can I also encourage everyone to read the event formats post to find out how we are handling the events, as well as information about how they are run (for use in your RPs).

Approximately half of the competing Delegations have posted a Roster for the Team Sport events and direct links to those rosters by delegation are in the first post of both the RP thread and the Roster Thread.

Problem with the Day 4 scorination

Postby Ioudaia » Tue Oct 22, 2019 10:01 am

While checking the results, I see that two of my athletes ended up in the wrong event, snowboarding halfpipe rather than freestyle skiing halfpipe.

Thanks.
This is easy enough to fix – it looks like I scorinated with the wrong startlist.

The easiest fix is to declare that those were the freestyle skiing ski halfpipe qualifiers, and adjust the schedule accordingly for the men's snowboard halfpipe to take place in the slot originally scheduled for the ski halfpipe.

EDIT: Host announcement: The schedule has been modified. The results scorinated on Day 4 stand as the qualifiers for the freestyle skiing ski halfpipe event.

Btw, Ioudaia. Maybe later this month or so, I was thinking of doing another collab just like the last Winter Olympics. Sounds interesting?

Sure, that could be fun. My delegation isn't as big as for the Summer Games, but I have plenty of athletes available. Peneleos ben Chadad was one of the characters in the last collab, and he's here now, since he competes in riflery during the Summer Games and biathlon in the Winter Games.

Thank you for your work on that. We have one small issue: Unified Beretania (UBT), is not a part of our region or our unified delegation. Much as we'd love to absorb their skill points, we don't know who that is. Sorry.

Regarding Ioudaia, our similar size in summer and winter games delegations makes me think if in the background we had some cooperation going on in preparing them for the games. Thoughts?

The Ioudaian delegation has grown according to what was popular at home. But if we have compatible governments and policies, which I haven't had time to check, perhaps we can work something out. I'm always up for RPing.

Not yet, though. I was planning on having a post up, but my schedule is complicated. I tell you when we should start the post, though if you're interested. Your athletes would have to worry about being terrorized by the Leader, which will be a hint on what I got planned.

Yes, he should. I didn't notice the tie at the time, and the way xkoranate works is if you set a file to sort by best result, if tied it takes the next-best result with no option to ignore it (therefore the output ranked Kedem second and I didn't notice). I will credit the medal in tomorrow's medal tally.

Host announcement
There ought to be few to no ties in speed skating; after a review of why the men's 500m produced so many ties, I realise that the file which I updated didn't include the instruction to use three decimal points to break ties, as irl.

Therefore, Vilita will re-scorinate this event today, with the medals (golds for AME/PRX and bronze for Darmen) from Day 10 not counting.

The file for the women's 500m had the correct tiebreaker included, so ties in that event are actual ties, and nothing needs to be changed there.

Apologies for the error in the file — but with so many unsolved ties, including one for a medal, I don't think it's fair to let the results stand when they would be broken IRL.

Can I ask a questions,

In the Short track speed skating—Women's 3000m relay semifinals, FINAL. My team placed 3rd and were moved to final B. But the delegation who came behind mine was placed in final A.

Could you explain that for me.

In short, that team was in a qualifying position at a time earlier in the race where they were, presumably, infracted upon by the Penalized delegation.

ICly, it is plausible that the MNM team 'crossed the line' in a higher position but had their position invalidated due to the penalty. The penalty affected the SVJ team directly while they were in position to finish in the Top 2 so they were 'advanced' to the final regardless of the fact that, after the incident, they placed outside the Top 2. At that point, it did not matter what position they finished in, they would have advanced.

Penalties in short track are designed to help mitigate falls that affect other skaters. If a skater can be shown to be at specific fault for another skater’s fall, that skater will be penalized and sometimes disqualified from the competition. Often times, in those cases, skaters who were detrimentally affected by the penalty will advance. Skaters can also be disqualified for impeding (pushing, blocking or tripping) another skater.

When there is a violation, or if someone takes out another athlete in a fall, the victim of the infraction may be allowed to advance, providing he was in contention to advance otherwise; advancement is the discretion of the chief referee.

Please note last night's Short track speed skating—Men's 500m preliminaries was scorinated with the speed skating file instead of the short track file.

Although multiple rounds were scorinated, we have to invalidate the results as using the speed skating file meant no advancements were possible (advancements are written into short track files).

Vilita will re-scorinate this event tonight.

I am a bit confused about the schedule of the men's ice hockey semi-final (even so we love to win against Taeshan, Kriegiersien should play Vilita there) and the results of Bobsleigh—Four-woman runs 3 and 4 (was there a major crash of half of the participtants in run 4?). :D

The published Draw was incorrect per the format of High v. Low; the way it was scored was the proper fixtures. For bobsleigh only the Top 20 sleds advance to the final run.

Ah, now you mention it, it was all the time this way, never noticed that. So the terrible third run really blew it for my best girls prematurely.
