The format for the 2019 AstyCup Group Stages hosted by Aswick & Aquitayne, in each nation will be 6 groups of 4 teams each in a Round-Robin style of tournament. Each competitor will play 1 match against each other team in their respected group. Following AIFA rules, 3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point will be awarded for a draw, and 0 points will be awarded for a loss. All goals, both scored by & conceded by your team will also be tracked, which will create your Goal Difference. Following each game, the group standings will be decided upon these facts. If a tie between teams does occur in the standings, they shall be separated by the following:

A) Amount of Points Received
B) Goal Difference
C) Most Goals Scored
D) Least Goals Conceded
E) Head to Head Result
F) Most Games Won
G) Coin Toss

Within each host nation bracket, the winner & runner up from each group along with the top 4 3rd place teams will progress from the Group Stages to the Round of 16, the next stage of the competition. From then, a series of single game elimination matches will continue until a single team remains. A final match between the winner of the Aswick & Aquitayne brackets will be crown the champions of the Astyrian Cup of Nations.

Scorination, Cut-Offs & RP Bonus

Scorination & Cut-Offs will occur at 9:00PM Pacific Standard Time on all days.

The Scorination by the host nation for the 2019 AstyCup will be conducted by NSFS13. A Point system will be awarded to all teams based upon a score of 150. All contestants will start with their rating attained from the AstyCup Qualifiers and receive additional points as the main tournament progresses. They are to be issued at the cut-off time and are as followed:

+5 Points for a National Information Page/Roster
+0.5 Points for Each Win
+0.3 Points for Each Draw
+0.05 Point for Each Loss
+0.05 Point for Each Goal
+0.05 Point for Each Shutout

Following the end of the group stages, games will turn into single elimination events. If a match ends in a draw for both teams at these stages, RP points will only be issued for the score up to the first 90 minutes. The score from Extra Time or Penalty Kicks will not be calculated into your RP Score.

Additionally, an RP Bonus of +2 Points will be awarded to your score for making a daily RP about your team. This includes days with or without matches. Your RP's do not need to be entirely about the team and their performance, as they can be from an individual players view, the managers perspective, a fans experience while at the tournament, a newspaper article & more. These will begin on Friday June 9th, and only 1 will be accepted daily

A Reminder that all nations are encouraged to create a National Information Post before the games being, which will warrant a one time RP Bonus of +5 to your teams Score. Although entirely up to you, we do suggest it contains the following:

Team Roster
This will contain your lineups for the games, including substitutions. Games will consist of 11 players, with 7 additional players for your bench during the matches. We recommend 18 players, but a minimum of 14 & a maximum of 25 will be accepted. Although all information given is up to your own discretion, it is best to include the players Names, Numbers, Positions & the current Clubs they play for as well as an optional Bio for the athletes. Although none is required, it will be appreciated by the Host & your competitors.

Style Modification
The Style Modification will be based from -5(Most Defensive) to +5(Most Offensive). A Style of 0 will represent the middle ground where your team dedicates an average amount of effort on both Defense & Offense. Decimal positioning is accepted to 1/100th of a whole number, anything more will be rounded to the nearest tenth. Competitors that do not mention their preferred Style Modifier will be issued a Style of 0.

RP Permissions
The RP Permissions will let your competition know what they can & cannot post about your team within their own RP's.

Offices of The Linesman, Mefra

"Get off Imajin, Duder," said Saleb int'Ruqoi to one of his press staff, mug of coffee in hand.

"I'm not on it," Duder replied, his browser plugin doing its utmost to make Imajin ― a popular image-sharing site ― look like a wall of spreadsheets. He swung around in his chair, relying heavily on the human brain to make int'Ruqoi focus on his face and not the suspicious list of image names.

"If you insist," said int'Ruqoi, unconvinced. "I need someone to man the Twitter account for today's match and help update the feed. Tariq's puking his gall bladder out in the bathroom so he can't do it. I'd have sent him home but I don't need him throwing up on the stairs."

"As if he'd drive home and risk ruining his car's interior," Duder wryly added. Int'Ruqoi nodded, but he didn't leave. Behind Duder's shoulder, Imajin-as-spreadsheet updated all its links. "Alright, I'll start setting up the hype on Twitter, then."

There was a long moment while int'Ruqoi swigged his coffee and Duder drummed his fingers on the desk and waited for him to leave. Finally, the mug descended. "Perfect, thank you." He left. Duder felt the g-forces acting on him as he swung back around to Imajin― well, now that he had something to do, he might as well do it. New tab, Twitter. Let's go, Magpies!

It had been a disastrous first day against Equinoxiale, and Miles Spenser-White knew it. Two-nil was hard enough, but to injure one of their better players off fieldwas terrible.

“Farthing never looked where he was going. Living not up to his name, or perhaps in intentional apposition thereto, he held his head high but looked not at where he was walking, or rather, into what he was walking. Shame that he tripped and sprained his ankle when he played so well, but Dyer is a good lad. A bit short and young, but he had shewed great promise in the qualifiers. He'll replace Farthing fine.

Fielder as usual had played very well as well, but in a recurring theme throughout this year's season, goals seemed like they required more than mere good playing to be striked into the net of the opposition. Sextant was a bit off his game to-day too, which accounted for the two goals let. He said something about a cough—maybe he's fallen ill? Smith would relish a chance to play a game, and perhaps mixing things up will help put the opposition off. Old tactics and all that, one supposes... Perhaps I'm getting a bit old too? Getting on in my 30s. I hope to retire soon enough. Play a bit of cricket and stinning perhaps down at the Green. Golly, I do sound old. Luckily it's all in my head.”

» ASTYCUP: Albeinland beats Serretes by 1 - 0 and becomes leader of Group J
» Bardsley scored on the second-half of the game, starting the Albish campaign to the final

TELORA, AQUITAYNE - In its first game at the Astyrian Cup of Nations, the Albish national team managed to do an arduous but amazing game against Serretes, beating the opponent team by 1 - 0 with a goal made by Bardsley on the second-half.

After the news that Albeinland was been qualified to the 2019 Astycup, the general feeling experienced by the team and its technical staff was very optimistic due to the spectacular return as one of the best selections in Lorecia after the shameful elimination on the 2018's Astycup qualification matches. Under the leadership of Douglas Armstrong, the team achieved this good time by doing a solid offensive formation through the signing of more forward players such as Hugh Bardsley and the goalscorer Fred Ayers as well as the hiring of a more professional technical staff, however, these improvements could only be seen to be effective when the Albs goes back to the field in Aquitayne. Nonetheless, the ‘resurrection’ of the Albish football proved to be true yesterday.

Hours before the begun the match, it could be seen the massive Albish presence on the Averton’s Stadium in Telora along with four million people watching the match on the ABS. Despite the political and military crisis in Arstotska, no major incident happened to Albish football fans and the security remained as the usual.

Soon after the match began, the Albish selection started two almost-successful finishings made by Seaver and Ayers. However, despite what many thought, the Serretian team reacted quickly to this and launched several attacks that only are contained by Royce and Keynes, creating an epic first-half where Albeinland showed its defensive capability while was trying to break the Serretian selection and launch a counter-attack.

Things started to turn on the second-half of the game when Serretes, more weakened and without the same vigour that the team had on the first-half, started to lose possession and power, letting Albeinland react as fast as possible. The goal finally came on the 66’, with a pass from Ayers making Bardsley clear to score, leaving everyone in absolute amusement and joy. After that, Serettes was unable to launch any other counter-attack, with the match ending in an Albish victory on its first game.

The victory made Albeinland the first leader of the Group J, which is composed by Mesoland and Nikolia as well.

SPORTS EDITION

BLUEBIRDS SEAL PLACE IN ASTYCUP ROUND OF 16

Image
Scottopian Isles take all 3 points from Match 2 with a single goal
Fans of the national football team rejoiced after a late goal in a tight game ended with a 1-0 victory for the Scottopian Isles over Group C competitors, Kobolis. Nick Russel, forward for the New Greenock United displayed great skill before netting the finishing touch after a lobbing cross from the wing in the 82nd minute. The victory, coupled with that against Costa de Ouro earlier in game 1 of the AstyCup, picks up 6 points in 2 games which automatically sends the Bluebirds into the next round along with Romberg, who also defeated the teams of Kobolis & Costa de Ouro. A final Game 3 will pit both 1st & 2nd place against each other where the Scottopians sit on top of the group due to a greater goal difference than their Rombergian opposition, who have come across as the dark horse of the group. Costa de Ouro currently in 4th place looks to dislodge Kobolis in 3rd place in order to gain that last entry spot in the next round from Group C for the 2019 AstyCup.

Hosts Aswick defeated Hifax 3-0 to go top of Group A, but all 4 teams now have 3 points making the last game of Group Stages anybody's for the taking. Champions from the 2017 Astycup, Khade, lead Group B after a strong 2-1 win over last years hosts Nidwalden. The Aurora Confderacy maintained 2 wins aswll to top Group D, where as Ord Caprica lost a chance to automatically qualify from Group E after a 1-1 draw against a struggling Kamalbia squad. The final Group hosted by Aswick in this years Astycup, Group F, both Trellin & Consular each coming off victories after their Game 1 draw to lead the group.

Aquitayne lost 5-1 to a dominating Polarus squad which sent some of the local support home early, slipping the co-host to 2nd place in Group G. Many goals were scored in Group H, where Nova Deseret put 3 past Scanonia without reply to climb to first place, while 2018 Champions Nynorsk Ostlijord maintained 2nd place with a win 4-2 over Cassone. With a squad consisting mainly of players from the League 1 Championship winning Colchester Landing FC of the 2018 Hesperidesian Soccer League, the Colchester Landing national team has taken first place over San Joaquin Valley in Group I. Hindia Belanda & Kyashi both have a chance to gain the final 3rd entry into the next round. Albeinland held out for a 2-2 draw against Group J favorites Nikolia which places them in first place over their competition. It would have been more entertaining watching paint dry over at the Mesoland-Serettes match, which ended goalless at 0-0. In Group K, Riysa beat Bhormakaro 3-0 to take first place where in Group L, a 4-0 win by Zitru over Equinoxiale qualified them for Round of 16 action. The final match of the group stages, Game 3, is to take place on Tuesday in both host nations, Aswick & Aquaityane. Who will continue their Shot at Glory & who will take early flights home?
