Focus and Confidence
Semi Final Preparation Against Ziwana

Anara, Eraman - The Soracanian football fans has to be proud of their team after defeating host nation, Eraman, in quarter final of 3rd Melayu Archipelago Cup. The result was an overwhelmingly tight with 9 goals scored during the match (larger than Pemecutan vs Labuan and Cempaka minus the penalty shootout). But the real obstacle has come. Entering Semi Final, Soracana has to meet Ziwana who in quarter final defeating Singgahmata by 1-0. Although Ziwana only win by one goal but the team journey in the competition is something to be look upon. Ziwana was one of only 2 teams in group stage that scored perfect point with 4 wins. The highlighted match was when the team able to defeat Zeniyadh, last edition champion and crushed the team dream to advance further.

"Well, Ziwana is not ordinary team. They already showed their great performance during the group stage and it is a possibility that they will shine again," says Padangadak, Soracana Football Team Head Coach.

Meets when their practicing for the semi final later this night, Padangadak just wants his players to stay focus and play carefully. He don't want his players to get a fine or card during the match. Something that he always reminded to his players is that they all have to have confidence in themselves. Padangadak also gives penalty practice to his players.

"It is something that we need to practice when we entering knockout stage. A penalty shootout is a possibility to determine who will win. So the practice is an important part," added Padangadak.

Tonight, Soracana Islands will face Ziwana at Anara Stadium, Anara, the capital city of Eraman for one ticket to Final.

Ziwana 1-0 Singgahmata: Extra Time Goal Fires Akambuku Into The Semi-Finals

Ziwana are into the semi-finals of the 3rd Melayu Archipelago Cup for the first time in the nations history after seeing off Singgahmata who were failed by their goalkeeper.

Ziwana came into this game on a high having defeated the reigning champions of the Melayu Cup, Zeniyadh. The momentum helped the Akambuku dominate the game possession wise but were unable to go past the Singgahmata midfield in the first 15 minutes. In the 16 minute a Ziwana goal was denied and ruled offside. Western United and Ziwani centre back, Jean Kaphale had headed the ball into the Singgahmata goal from a free kick but apparently he had strayed into an offside position. After this incident Ziwana seemed to lose momentum and Singgahmata began to drop into Ziwana's box and even create space to take shots on goal luckily for Ziwana their trusted keeper Jean Kane came to the rescue. In the 35th minute Singgahmata had a chance to score from a free kick, but Jean Kane produced a brilliant save to deny Singgahmata number 8, before Singgahmata number 9 blasted the rebound over.

The second half so both sides packing the bus and not taking risks. However, in the last minutes Ziwani players started to push forward and take chances as Singgahmata's defence dug in.In the 84th minute Jean Wilder received a pass from Hashaan Casimir at the edge of the box and took his chance, although the shot was not a danger the Singgahmata goal keeper miscalculated the flight of the ball, flapped at the shot trying to get the ball and ended up pushing the ball into his own net to win the game for Ziwana.

The next march sees Ziwana face a very strong opponent in Soracana Islands who dominated the group stages and defeated Eraman which are one of the top footballing nations in the Melayu Archipelago region. Manager Harry Ngonamo has said that he knows that "umodzi,Umodzi football has been successful in getting them to the semi-final but he will be changing up the Ziwani tactics in order to give the Akambuku a higher chance of winning against Soracana. When asked about how he felt about the praise from the Soracana manager he answered that he is not one to get caught up in mind games played by other managers, he will just focus on motivating his boys to fight hard for the country and get to the final.
