The Imperial Grand Prix Association is the sanctioning body of the motor racing in the Sovereign Empire. The IGPA's most prominent role is the licensing and sanctioning of the Gristo-Serkonan National Championship. Established in 1945, the National Championship provides the set of rules in which participants' cars must conform. The National Championship is the highest level of single-seater auto racing in the Sovereign Empire. The National Championship crowns two Champions; one for the drivers, and one for the constructors, which determined by a points system based on their results at the end of the round.

The cars of the National Championship are the fastest regulated road cars in the country, with high cornering speeds achieved through aerodynamic downforce with limited ground effect. These cars are powered by 2.4-litre V8 turbo engines with multiple energy recovery systems as defined by the technical regulations. These power units are limited in performance to a maximum of 19,000 rpm, with a high dependence on electronics. The high cornering speeds subjects drivers to high lateral g-forces in cornering, pulling the driver's head with a force equivalent to 20 kilograms. The high lateral forces requires drivers to be at their peak physical and mental health to maintain their focus on the one to two hours it takes to complete a race.

The oldest surviving and most successful National Championship team, Escartre Rosen is the motorsports division of the luxury car manufacturer Rosen. The team was founded by industrialist Samuli Fredrik Rosen, initially to race cars acquired by Lunaterii. By 1957, they begun producing their own cars. Since the start of the National Championship, they have won 18 Constructor Championships, with 31 Driver's Championships. Their cars are widely recognized for their scarlet and gold livery. Their 2019 campaign begins with the signing 2018 Champion Marjukka Lehtonen from rival team Spireos Motorsports with junior formula champion and Rosen Academy driver Santeri Lahti.

Escartre Velotti is a National Championship team owned by fashion and luxury goods conglomerate Velotti-Perseus SV. Established by Viscount Pascal Velotti in 1967, the team is known for their four year dominance in the late 1980's with Siam-Gallovican driver Lawan Metharom. The team's sporting director Jonathan Holt is the longest serving team principal in the National Championship, having lead the team through its dominant years. In recent years, the team has struggled with the technical regulation changes. Following their historic low of 7th position in the constructors in the 2014 championship, the team signed Theo Sneijer and Henricus Martens in 2015. Taking advantage of the new technical regulations in 2015, the team charged to the top half of constructors championship. Last season saw the team in a close fight with the factory team Spireos, Olympus CNC Racing, and Hot Knights Racing for the best of the rest. After the final round in Rien-Stadt, Velotti ultimately won fourth.

Spireos Motorsport is the racing division of auto manufacturer Spireos. Lured by the new 2007 technical regulations after exiting the sport in 1994, Spireos only recently achieved success after several disasterous seasons as a provider of power units to Hot Knights Racing. Their most recent success in providing a two constructors championship wins for Hot Knights Racing from 2014 to 2016 led to the manufacturer committing fully in 2017 after completing their acquisition of HKR's junior midfield team. 2018 is their best season, attaining a third place standing in the constructors.

The newest National Championship team, Olympus CNC Racing is established by Imperial Gristo-Serkonan Touring Car Championship team owner and machine tool magnate Stuart Foster. They are known for their cost-effective business model, and their far reaching partnership with Escartre Rosen. Debuting in 2017, the team achieved their maiden podium on their first race in the National Championship thanks to Staffan Ljungborg. Their constructors championship position in 2018 was fifth.

Nekomata Mewkies is one of four teams that were founded following the 2015 technical regulation change. It also happens to be the only one still active. Founded by automotive parts supplier Nekomata Group, the team is a consistent midfield contender, only limited by their operating budget. This season they are switching power units from Rosen to Lunaterii, increasing the current roster of Lunaterii-powered teams to three. They placed 7th in last years' constructors championship.
