- Write your team name (ie (insert Nation) XI, (insert nation) Men’s Cricket Team, (insert nation) some culturally symbolic or competitive sounding name (note: this isn’t really like an American franchise team name, more like a nickname, for instance, South African are known by the nickname ‘Proteas’ and New Zealand ‘The Black Caps’, not like ‘South Africa Proteas’)and in brackets their skill level out of ten. If you’re stuck for what number to go for consider the sport’s popularity in your nation, the quality of the player pool, and the financial resources available to the sport in your nation. Consider these relative to other nations who have submitted their teams.
- Write 11-15 full names in a list. Designate one of them a captain by doing (c) and at least one a wicketkeeper by doing (wk)
- If you feel like it, make jerseys and team lineups for your nation’s squad - also if you want to add additional information or backstory for your squad, go for it. Voluntary though - finish steps 1 and 2 and you will be considered an entrant to the tournament.

Know nothing about cricket?
Not an issue, but if you want to learn a bit about the great game then here’s a handy five minute breakdown of cricket, and if anything isn’t covered in that, then Ainslie or myself will be able to answer any questions. It is worth mentioning that in cricket, the competition called the World Cup refers to the world championship in the 50 over format of the game, rather than the Test or T20 format, and it is the 50 over format that the TWI edition of this competition will follow.
Thanks.
