VARTUGIA

The total normal nation of Vartugia once again will get brutally rekted by y`all win every match 7-1.

Following the fiasco of last World Cup, the players have been given one slice of bread every 140th day in order to make them better and to be the best, like no one ever was. After 12 secounds of training, they are not fully ready for the challenge and ran away, resulting that the team now are a bunch of roosters instead with the same names.

Ranking: We didn't saw our rank so we guess we can claim that we are the 42069th best team in the world
Formation: See pic
Kit Colour: Think of the worst one you can think of. Ours is 10x worse than that)
Home grounds: One that doesn't fit the football field regulations. A cricket-sized ice field with goals just 2 meters apart at the middle is ideal.

MAREIBAT WORLD CUP 83 QUALIFIERS ROSTER

Manager: Roy Tobin, Aged: 54
Assistant Manager: Ezekial Charlestown, Aged 44
Style: +0.75

Spiel: Mareibat continue to mosy their way through life in terms of international performances, the team being very much... just present at the last Copa Rushmori. There is definitely talent in the side but the infrastructure back in Mareibat just doesn't really exist at the moment with the country in turmoil domestically. The side are definitely strongest up front and at the back, with Admiral Falcon now establishing himself as one of the best keepers in the ANL while up front Richard Armada continues to play well in a big league while Mubaaraka Durtch will be trading up from second tier Skibbereen United to an ANL side or a top tier side in another league next season such is his potential. What let's the squard down is their depth, with many players outside the starting XI being of a much lower calibre or ageing now. Roy Tobin will need an injection of youth into the side in the near future.

TEAM HISTORY
This is the official roster, featuring the Elite Eleven, an independent squad of Drawkians who have played all sports at a professional level for a confusingly long time. The old Kick Corps has been essentially removed, the players let go, and replaced by this squad of ridiculously skilled, annoyingly arrogant, and possibly immortal sportsmen. Nobody knows where they came from, or why DISC decided to replace the Kick Corps with them, but here they are. Just don't ask the baseball fans about them.
Drawkian soccer, and indeed, sporting in general, is mostly offensive-minded. This is reflected in the style indicator and in the formation. Drawkian soccer has not really been exposed to outside influences, and thus may look or feel strange to those used to "normal" football. Nevertheless, the Eleven are still good at what they do, and prize in an enduring game, moving the ball around nearly constantly and keeping energy going, aiming to tire out the opposing team. Of course, Drawkians aren't humans, but you can read about that elsewhere. Despite the fact that usually soccer is a female-only sport in Drawkland, the Elite Eleven have overturned that caveat as the higher-ups deemed them a suitable replacement in the interim as the real Kick Corps hides away for a few cycles and gets their shit back together.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my Scorers: Yes
Choose Scoring Events: Yes
Godmod Scoring Events: Yes
RP Injuries to my Players: Yes
Godmod Injuries to my Players: Yes
Yellow Card my Players: Yes
Red Card my Players: Yes
Godmod Other Events: Yes
As far as these go, I'm fair game for anything. You should know what is and isn't drastic RP, and if you think your RP is on the drastic side, TG me first. But I'm still basically up for anything.
I'd like to request that injuries or cards don't do anything outside of the scope of a single game or maybe 2. Don't want anything tournament or cycle-ending. Red cards should be limited to late knockout stages, and I'd probably think that there should be no more than 2 players red carded per tournament.
The Elite Eleven are sorta oddballs. I mean, they're a group of 11 dudebros, but they're supposedly immortal or something. Keep that in mind.

Disclaimers of various sorts:
I don't know very much about soccer. If I RP something weird, it's because I have little to no experience with this sport. But whatever.
If you have any questions about anything involving me, this team, my nation, this competition, life, etc., feel free to telegram me.

Manager: Image Elidyr Lyndainium • Formation: 4-4-2

It's been a long grind since their debut back in the 75th edition but the Golden Eagles head into their campaign for the 83rd edition as they try to repeat their feat of the WC80 cycle where they won two trophies within that cycle, with their final victories over Audioslavia and Drawkland giving them the Cup of Harmony title and the Independents Cup title respectively. The team have since plateaued on the international stage, which culminated in their third group stage exit following a successful qualification campaign during their last cycle, where they gathered two points against Juvencus and Vilita to finish in third place. The team hopes to return to an upward trajectory under Cenian gaffer Elidyr Lyndainium as manager of the Mercedinian National Football Team. With two major trophies under his belt, many are wondering how far he can take the national team, and whether or not his tactics and style of football will wear off anytime soon, much like former manager David Bjarnasson after he was sacked in the very next cycle after qualifying for the 77th World Cup.

Mercedini go into the cycle as a Pot 1 side for the first time as they use their 26th world ranking to squeak into the Pot 1 sides, which would have given them an easier draw compared to Pot 2 sides, who will now have to face at least one top ranked side from an ever increasing field. Their top seeding means they also avoid all of the big names in world football, with the possibility of playing Nephara or Vilita removed from the equation. All of that meant the Mercedinian delegation could breathe a sign of relief for the draw, but that didn't mean they were out of the woods just yet, with ties against Krytenia, Huelavia and Schottia requiring the Golden Eagles to make it past the so-called 'old guard' to qualify for another World Cup. The World Cup knockout stages have alluded them thus far, but Dini have another chance to put their brand of football on the map once again.

Four goalkeepers to pick from during qualification, with all the four players being those previously selected for the national, even if their order has been swapped around considerably since the previous edition of the World Cup. Rainard Tatius remains out of the fray despite his big-money move to Velestria, instead Zoloroni Met second-choice goalkeeper Lukas Poyek returns to the team, with Lyndainium citing Tatius' long move to Velestria as reason for his exclusion into the national team this time round. With the short-notice of the transfer and the age of the former-Elspachia goalkeeper also being a logistical nightmare to ship Tatius around with the Mercedinian national team when he still needs to get suited to the Velestria life with is new team. With his heroics last season in securing the domestic double for Zoloroni City; Daniel Hosset has gone full circle in his circuit as a Mercedinian goalkeeper, and now sits in the number one spot once again to lead his team out onto the pitches of foreign lands. The goalkeeper is the last line of defence for the team, with matches won and lost on the whim of their performances. It's hoped that the four selected goalkeeper with do enough to keep clean sheets or at least limit their opponents to allow an opportunity for victory through their attackers.

An aging back line seems to have finally found it's mojo when it comes to blocking out teams from scoring, and that seemed to pay dividends during the last campaign when the Mercedinian defence held out long enough to secure crucial points which kept their heads above water. Lyndainium has stuck with his qualifying team from the previous cycle in order to restore a feeling of familiarty to the group, with domestic and national matches splitting up the team more and more as time goes on. Consistency is key to a fruitful qualifying campaign featuring opponents with all different playstyles and abilities. There is nowhere to hide on the plethora of World Cup pitches that this team will play on throughout the campaign, so they will have to lay it all on the track when they get down to it.

Once again, no changes to the midfield roster and they take the reigns for the national team, with the good performances put forward by the midfield squad warranting national praise and re-selection for the upcoming qualification campaign. Mercedini has put itself on the map with it's attractive brand on attacking and controlling football, with the midfield quartet always at the heart of the action as they ebb and flow with the action of the game. Cricket scores can be chalked up when this group is in form, with experienced veterans teaming up with enthusiastic young-guns to provide plenty of variety and depth to Lyndainium as he attempts to get maximum efficiency from his players. Mercedini have often struggled against the top teams due to their inability to keep up with the midfield play, but this group of players are well experienced from one previous cycle together. It is simply a question of whether Mercedini can be put in the same bracket as the top tier of football-playing nations.

STRIKERS
ST Daniel Dostalok 24 Image Starling
ST Ben Chillotov 23 Image Lajuno
ST Charlie Alotic 28 Image Pelethas United
ST Cody Graszeszak 22 Image KF Qastyr
ST Feliks Alva 22 Image Elspachia

In a roster where there has been little to no change, there has been on gutsy change which has had everyone talking, and not just within Mercedini's borders. This will be the first World Cup cycle which will not feature the Mercedinian talismanic striker in the shape of Sgt. Sam Billic, as Lyndainium has opted for some fresh blood to replace him and to potentially take over the Billic-throne. Billic has decided by mutual consent to sit out of this World Cup, with the potential of a looming managerial job somewhere in the MFA or MPL to good to pass up at the age of the former Mercedinian military sergeant-turned-diplomat. It will be an historic moment for the team in it's post-Billic era, as the striker has been ever-present in the squad since it's debut in the Baptism of Fire, where they won 2-0 in their opening group game.

But enough about the past, and onto the future. Former Project Olimpo prodigy Feliks Alva will take the place of the legend, as he moves to the fifth choice which bump up Alotic and Graszeszak to 3rd and 4th respectively. Alva became the face of the fightback to try and keep Project Olimpo in the Mercedinan Premier following a dire start to the season. Alva became a regular on the scoresheet to net a number of vital goals before his team eventually succumbed to the drop, which captured the hearts of many in the Mercedinian footballing community. His antics caught the eye of suitors in Elspa where Alva moved to Elspachia to become a first choice striker and a regular starter in the Premier League. Now his selection in the national team has capped off a remarkable rise for the youngster.

Chillotov and Dostalok remain the top two in the Mercedinian striking world and are selected once again to lead the line. It could be an emotional return to Schottia for Daniel Dostalok, the former Handon United striker could very well make a welcomed return to his former stomping ground to face the former World Champions, who have fallen far to become a Pot 4 side for this World Cup. Chillotov will be going for the Billic crown now the Real Azuris striker has stepped out of the picture. The Hoventon-born player now plays in Eura for Lajuno and has been a key play in the team's fight to secure a UICA berth for the community. It's set to be an exciting and inspiring couple of weeks for the team as they set out to claim the one and only automatic qualifying spot in the group. Lets go!

The prosperous capital of Mercedini is the stage for the Mercedinian campaign for World Cup Qualification once again. The Zoloroni Sports City Stadium was built in 2012 and has been the national team's home stadium since it was built. The stadium used to hold over 61,000 people, but a recent refurbishment meant that the capacity has increased by approximately 13,000 with the new capacity sitting at roughly 74,500 with the new visiting allocation still being just less than a quarter of that at 18,000. The stadium has hosted a Baptism of Fire final and an Independent's Cup final and third-place play-off during IAC's two and five respectively. those matches were combined with it's hosting of weekly Zoloroni City matches in the MPL, but the capital team have since been evicted after they built their own stadium just down the road. The stadium is still accustomed to regular football featuring the nation's and the multiverse's best teams, when it hosts the MFA Cup final plus playoff finals for National League 1 and National League 2. Mercedinians and visiting spectators who don't have tickets can have a drink in one of the many bars and pubs or they can chill in the World Cup FanZone where they can watch the matches on the big screens along with other football enthusiasts.

Mercedini has two national languages and both are universally spoken in the nation as children are taught both at a young age. Mercedinian is the native language of all citizens and is based around the Italian language, knowing the language isn't paramount to a tourist's experience but Mercedinians always appreciate a foreigner attempting to communicate in Mercedinian. If learning a foreign language isn't your thing then English is also universally spoken throughout the nation (especially in cities and other metropolitan areas as it is considered the language of business and commerce). It is common for Mercedinians to speak more than one language with some opting for a third if proficient enough in their previous two, Google Translate is also only a couple of clicks away if you need it.

Mercedini's national currency is the Mercede (M) and is used universally for the nation's transactions. Currently, the Mercede is a strong and reliable currency with 1.56 NationStates Dollars equalling 1 Yvroni (M0.64 = 1 NS$). Goods & Services in Mercedini are comparably cheap thanks to low operating costs, free-trade deals and low import tariffs for foreign goods, they can be paid for using the common Mercede currency, although visitors can pay with NS Dollars or use their credit or debit cards, with card users ruged to pay in their own currency for better conversion rates. Citizens of Mercedini are pretty well-off with average incomes topping ¥145,000 (226,822 NS$) which means luxury goods & services are as much a part of Mercedinian shopping-culture as the bargains.

Food & Drink is considered a pillar of Mercedinian culture, which means visitors are literally in for a treat when they visit one of the nations many cafes, restaurants, bars or pubs. As previously mentioned, integration has played a large part in the cuisine, but ultimately Mercedinian cuisine has stayed largely close to it's roots. Mercedinian cuisine, like the language, is based on Italian cuisine, with flavourful pasta and rice dishes on offer, along with pizzas and stuffed flatbreads perfect for carnivores and vegetarians. For the tourists, dishes from their home nation will always be on offer which means that visitors can always have a taste of home while enjoying the action in Mercedini. If you're a fan of carb crashes, we think you'll love our nosh!

As it is the official capital city of Mercedini as well as the commercial hub of the nation, Zoloroni is large bustling city littered with modern skyscrapers and office buildings. Zoloroni will be at the centre of the action, holding the host arena as well as hosting most of the pre-festival events that will happen in Mercedini. Visitors will not be disappointed as Zoloroni has restaurants, shops and sightseeing trips in abundance, meaning that performers and fans have plenty of activities waiting for them on their off-days. Zoloroni's main attraction is the Sports City and the shopping centres located just a small journey away from the city centre.

Mercedinans are generally very peaceful to visitors and will pretty much always help out foreigners if they need a recommendation for a restaurant or need help finding direction of their favourite tourist spot, Mercedinian usually keep to themselves out on the street but will converse with almost anyone if approached in a friendly manner, and it always helps to know a bit of Mercedinian first. As a nation, Mercedini welcomes new visitors with open arms and hopes every tourist has a great experience in our nation. Andiamo!

Turori National Team

Head Coach: Klaillal Tuirma
Descendant of Season 4 Turorian Player of the Season and National team legend Cuolia Tuirma, Klaillal often partnered on the pitch with Restiia Mumamba as an "All-Around" player for the Turori National Team. After being brought up through the academy system at Kionao, Tuirma signed a professional contract with Colonial Sile in Vilita for Season 35, winning silverware in the first match, the Tropical Trophy triumph over Strike. Tuirma's stay in Sile didn't last long, however, coaxed back to the luxury of Arcticala Inlet to help in their Champions-Cup qualifying campaign of Season 38. Tuirma returned to Turori during Season 44 as a member of Mliona-Lpaka AFC. Tuirma retired from international competition after winning the 67th Cup of Harmony with Turori. Playing in a unique role throughout their career - being expected to be able to play every game, in every position - even Goalkeeper, if there were no subs left - resulted in a deep understanding of each position on the pitch and the nuances that made each position different setting Tuirma up to be a well respected coach, ultimately getting the nod as the head coach of Turori's National Citizen Squad.

Tuirma has led Turori from out behind the shadow of the chains that held them back for generations, leading the team to their first ever Quarter Final victory, their first ever Semi-Final victory and first ever World Cup Final appearance during World Cup 82. Now, in Equestrian States and Banija, Tuirma has just one more accomplishment standing between them and a larger than life statue outside Eels Park in Eelandii: The World Cup Title.

Nickname: The Eels

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

Note 'Caps" are shown are currently on record for Turorian Players on from the start of World Cup 80 due to federation budget re-allocations during this time period to the Cocoabo Enrichment & Enhancement Project (CEEP)

TROPHIES :: : UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup : : Vilitan Declasse :
An'maude led Cedniavella to the 64th UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup title and then subsequently backstopped the 'Vellas to a runner-up finish in the Declasse during Season 54 and subsequent promotion to the Stellar Division. An'maude was also named Vilitan Declasse Division goalkeeper of the Season for the Season 54. While An'maude was impressive in the Stellar Division, leading Cedniavella to a top-10 finish ahead of rivals Cednia Beach AFC, the Turorian netminder was coerced out of Cedniavella to take over goalkeeper duties at Lonngeylin Coast as the heir-apparent to the aging Cilamara Issah. Was Vilita & Turori's #1 netminder on the championship winning AOCAF 56 squad.

Hualtia came through the Eelandii Academy and instantly developed as a future Turori National Team prospect. Played one season for Sporta Eelandii before their relegation from the Vilitan League prompted Hualtia to make a switch to become the starting goalkeeper at Inland Peaks during Season 59.

G.Q Disterfred II [ - Colonial Sile - ]
GK ( AGE: 39 :: [ NT CAPS: 8 :: NT CLEAN SHEETS: 4 ] :: [ V&T CAPS: 0 :: V&T CLEAN SHEETS: 1 ] )
TROPHIES :: [ : AOCAF 42 : ]
Young prospect Disterfred pushed Inura Forests into the top half of the Season 38 Declasse, earning player of the season honors at the club and earning recognition as a serious propsect for the National Team. Disterfred was a member of the AOCAF 41 Championship Winning side, but did not start any of the 7 matches en-route to the title. When head coach Nycflala Kater took a back seat early in the competition during AOCAF 42, however, Disterfred had his chance to play as Vilita & Turori earned their second consecutive AOCAF title. However, Disterfred's domestic career took a negative turn when Inura Forests were relegated out of the Vilitan League, prompting a cross-country transfer to the Kionao Locals in the Declasse division. Despite the strong leadership of Lita Adjei and good performances in the UICA Competitions, Kionao was unable to get promoted and eventually Disterfred would move to Turoki Isle in order to get a chance to play in the Stellar Division. Having played his whole career in Vilita, Disterfred was eventually convinced to return home to Turori when the chance to play at Cednia Beach AFC was presented, Disterfred being named the replacement for retiring Vilitan netminder Jaqe Planst.

The Football Association of Vilita is based at the Tivali-Ring Stadium (87,000 Seating Capacity) in the capital city of Alikki-Corra, Vilita and many National Team training sessions take place on the grounds of the Tivali-Ring. The Tivali-Ring complex was constructed as part of the Vilitan bid to host the World Cup 14 Cup of Harmony as a replacement to the former National Stadium in Lopinka that was destroyed during a regional conflict. 'The Ring' has since hosted countless international matches including high profile matches such as the World Cup 31 Final and the 40th Series 'B' Champions Cup Final.

Despite being based at the Ring, The Football Association of Vilita regularly schedule matches at arenas throughout Vilita, especially bigger matches as many of the stadiums that host Stellar Division and UICA competition matches have expanded far beyond the 87,000 capacity of the National Stadium at Tivali-Ring, which is used only for the National Team, and, domestically for the Vilitan Cup Final and Tropical Trophy matchups. The Football Association typically releases a stadium schedule when applicable.

Vilita will often play in a traditionally Vilitan 3-1-4-2 formation with a style modifier of +3.14. Against weaker opposition they may instead play a 3-4-3.

Press Note: The Vilita National Team Official Roster Sheet has been overhauled specifically for World Cup 82 to include both Caps, Goals & Clean Sheets for the Vilitan National Team as well as Caps, Goals & Clean Sheets accrued while playing for the Vilita & Turori unified team as a separate statistical category. For many players, only Caps, Goals and Clean Sheets earned since AOCAF 50 are included amongst the Vilita & Turori statistics. If a player's information is misrepresented or incomplete we are confident the error is only typographical. Please submit any corrections to the Vilitan National Sports Desk.

Was snapped up by Strike FC and quickly became attacking partner to Meldi'ita Mungwaii, eventually being named Vilitan Player of the Season. As Strike's fortunes faded, however, so did Warazil's and while they did lift the Season 57 Vilitan Cup with the club, a disappointing Season 58 campaign left Warazil wanting more and submitting a transfer request to the Lonngeylin based club. The move would eventually see Warazil cross Atlantian Oceania to Valanora to play for one of the regions most decorated sides, Raynor City United.

Manager - Iban Bachiondo - Age 57
After a long spell of inactivity, the Futbol Astograthiko Federazioa had a tough time finding a manager for the national team, seeing as most good options were tied down to lucrative club contracts. They settled on Bachiondo, recently sacked by Echegoyan FC. The former left winger, who had a successful career playing for Astograth, Echegoyan and Mytannion's Olympic Thessia, made a name for himself in the Astograthian First Division by managing the humble Sporting Arkamo to defiant top-half finishes, though he was later unable to translate that success into the demanding environment of his hometown Echegoyan.

Though unfancied by many, Bachiondo has drafted a squad of proven players from across the First Division and abroad. He lines up with a flexible 4-2-3-1 formation, where full-backs and wingers surge forward on attack and fall deep on defense. A pair of defensive midfielders act as the bedrock of the midfield, one man there to stop attacks and the other to link up with the team's attacking midfielder as the side's primary creative pairing.n

Starting XI:

#1 - GK – Aratz Anzizar - Age 31 - Sporting Iturributa - 17 caps
Long-time keeper for Sporting Iturributa and believed to be the best in his position in the First Division. Noted for his consistency, aerial command and organisation of the defense, Anzizar has built a club reputation rivaling that of Sporting's Zernin Aira, the greatest keeper in Astograthian history - and is now tasked with taking that to the national team level.

#4 - LB - Urre Remondegi - Age 26 - Ituraitz FC - Uncapped
Voted the best left-back of the last season, Remondegi first caught the eye playing for Oyardo, and was brought in to Ituraitz FC a few years back, as Gorriaka went on to clinch the club's record-breaking ninth league title and the Royal Cup in their centenary year. Resilient and dynamic, Remondegi is a versatile player that can play in the back, further up the wing or even shifted to central midfield if required.

#2 - CB - Mogel Doyenard - Age 25 – Sporting Iturributa - 14 caps, 3 goals
Doyenard is, without a doubt, the best Astograthian defender currently playing. He has been consistently voted the best center-back in the league since breaking into Sporting's first team five years ago, and in a club renowned for producing excellent defenders has still managed to astound fans and officials. Measuring 193 cm, Bachiondo will also look to have him go up for corners.

#5 - CB - Baleren Narke - Captain - Age 30 - Ituraitz FC - 29 caps, 1 goal
Captain and career-long player for Ituraitz FC, Narke led the club to its best period in over twenty years, winning two consecutive league titles with the second of them a double during their centenary. Square-jawed and muscular, Narke is an expert at keeping his defense in line and skilled at managing dressing room drama.

#6 - RB – Ilixo Paguape - Age 29 - Royal Rumiatzi - 11 caps, 1 goal
There is an ongoing debate on whether Paguape or the Nepharim Stephen Denilson is the best right-back in the league, but only one was eligible for the national team anyway. With two First Divisions and two Royal Cups to his name, Paguape has had an illustrious career marked by his controversial transfer from Sporting Iturributa to Royal Rumiatzi. Though not unprecedented, moves within the triangle of loathing formed by Iturributa United, Royal Rumiatzi and Sporting are rare and usually the result of contract expiry - Paguape's was the first since Ellis Elmsvikur's transfer from United to Royal Rumiatzi that involved triggering his massive release clause. This earned him a reputation as a mercenary and is now persona non grata in Iturributa, which should make for a spectacle when the national team visit for their match against Brusseldorf.

#14 - DM – Indartsu Lekea - Age 26 - AFC Corvistone (Nephara) - 9 caps, 1 goal
Lekea has had a successful career from Astograthian shores, after departing from Athletic Club Rumiatzi while still a teenager. Previously at Apox's Barbury Town, he is currently the only Astograthian player to ply his trade in the top-ranked Nepharim league. With his extensive international experience, something sorely lacking in the rest of the team, Lekea has Bachiondo's confidence as the "senior" partner in his midfield duo with Bengoechea. He'll be expected to be the primary agent in stopping attacks through the middle and backing up Bengoechea in forming plays.

#15 - DM - Gilamu Bengoechea - Age 25 - Ituraitz FC - Uncapped
Voted the best center midfielder in the league, Bengoechea is on a career high, having returned to Ituraitz some time ago following a spell with Ceni's Whitehaven Triumph. Primarily a creative player, Bachiondo expects him to build from deep with the help of Lekea and link up with Duarte further upfield, while remaining a credible threat from outside the box.

#11 - LM - Iraunkor Berdesagar - Age 26 - Gallant Cross (Brenecia) - Uncapped
A product of East Railway's youth system, Berdesagar left the country in search of better opportunities and found it in Brenecia. Though Gallant Cross have seen better days, having been relegated and now stuck in the second tier for several years, Berdesagar has ground it out and earned his starting spot on Olibondeka - it may not be the top flight, but the Brenecian B-League is still one of the strongest competitions in the world. Capable of playing on the left or right wings or as a central attacking midfielder, Berdesagar has it all to shine on the national team.

#10 - RM - Xefe Larribe - Vicecaptain - Age 29 - Uxminster Athletic (Apox) - 34 caps, 5 goals
A veteran at only 29 years old, Larribe was already a star for Athletic Club Olarria before signing for Pasarga's Tanrısal and so, unlike Lekea, Berdesagar or Leskerre, knows the First Division in and out and is, alongside Laurnagaray, the most capped in all of the call-up. A small, clever player, Larribe is not as quick as he used to be but has successfuly reinvented himself by refining the technical aspects of his game, making him an unpredictable player that can at any time pass, dribble, cross or shoot. In a pinch, he can be deployed as an extra forward.

#8 - AM - Azeari Duarte - Age 27 - Royal Rumiatzi - Uncapped
After a title-winning season for Royal Rumiatzi, Duarte has had praise showered all over him as the league's best player and the team's chief architect, showing immense vision to provide the majority of his fellow strikers' assists and occasionally get himself on the scoresheet as well. Royal Rumiatzi play with two forwards and Bachiondo will be relying on only one plus wingers cutting in, so Duarte will have some adjusting to do in controlling the tempo and finding his mark.

#9 - CF - Yasone Urdanibia - Age 29 - Royal Rumiatzi - 9 caps, 4 goals
Four-time First Division top scorer, Urdanibia came through the youth system of Rumiatzi 529 and got his first big-time opportunity with Oyardo FC. After scoring 19 goals in 24 matches in the first season of the reinaugurated First Division, he was quickly snapped up by Royal Rumiatzi and, despite a rocky start, has established himself as the league's premier striker. Though lethal with his feet and his head, critics say the midfield does all the work for him - true or not, good thing Rumiatzi's Duarte will be right behind him.

Bench:

#13 - GK – Gentza Bedigax - Age 26 - Urbizania Wanderers - 2 caps
Bedigax initially impressed the First Division by being one of the reasons that the unfancied Erribe United remained in the top flight during their début season, and has continued that form at Urbizania Wanderers by winning the league and consistently being one of the least-beaten keepers in the competition. He has already proven himself a capable replacement for Anzizar in prior call-ups and can be relied upon in case of injury or suspension to the starter.

#23 - GK – Bihar Raldua - Age 23 - Ituraitz FC - Uncapped
The city of Ituraitz has built a reputation as being a great producer of goalkeepers, and Bihar Raldua is the latest hot talent to come through. After a successful loan spell with Royal Ibarbe, he returned as starter to Ituraitz FC and has proven himself well-suited to don some of the most prestigious gloves in Astograthian football. In time, he might don the most prestigious pair.

#3 - LB – Siga Urtsua - Age 32 – Royal Rumiatzi - 29 caps, 1 goal
A First Division veteran, Urtsua can be relied upon to shut out the opposition or close out matches that younger, nervier players may struggle with. His long-range passing is top-notch and can provide the odd assist if the defense is not paying good attention to positioning.

#12 - CB - Xarles Sabatza - Age 28 - Urbizania Wanderers - 10 caps
Paguape may be considered the biggest mercenary in Astograth, but Sabatza has strolled all over the top of the First Division table, having played for Sporting Iturributa, Ituraitz FC and now Urbizania Wanderers. He's been a rock in the defense of each and has proven chemistry with Doyenard and Narke for club and country.

#18 - CB – Ugaitz Leskerre - Age 26 – Lajuno (Eura) - Uncapped
Despite a low public profile and not starting, Leskerre has found his way to one of the top clubs in the world in Eura's Lajuno, which has a proud tradition of sourcing Astograthian talent. Previously playing for Pasarga's Paulinthal FC, Leskerre will be looking to show both his country and his club what he can do at the highest level.

#19 - RB – Cheru Lizarza - Age 24 - Sporting Iturributa - Uncapped
Rounding out the defense is Lizarza, a solid if unspectacular full-back that initially came through at Oyardo and then moved to Eshan's Gracemeria, before returning to reinforce the most feared defense in Astograth at Sporting Iturributa.

#16 - DM – Ibon Irisarre - Age 24 - Urbizania Wanderers - Uncapped
The hard-hitting Irisarre is not especially skilled at building play, but excels at shutting it down. If Olibondeka finds itself disadvantaged and Bachiondo needs an AZ-5 button, he can count on Irisarre to fight any fires in midfield and deny the opposition. A utility player, he can also be deployed as a center-back or, in case a rival winger needs to be taken out of the game, a full-back.

#21 - DM – Gomesano Sedero - Age 26 - Royal Rumiatzi - Uncapped
A key component of Garitzeta Racing Club's strong form in the First Division, Sedero was snatched up by Royal Rumiatzi as soon as they could and presently forms a strong midfield partnership with Azeri Duarte, which could be replicated in the national team if Bengoechea falters. An imposing presence on the pitch, Sedero relies as much on his size and strength as on his footwork to glide past the opposition and play in his teammates.

#20 - LM - Perrando Albiza - Age 30 - Manechester United (Equestria) - 29 caps, 1 goal
Formerly at Nephara's Brookford Otters, Albiza has established himself as an excellent playmaker, pacing the match, drawing out defenders, creating chances and providing all manner of assists - all from the wing. Bachiondo's initial plan, however, requires wingers more suited to cutting inside and being themselves a threat on goal. Against the right opposition, Albiza might yet be the imbalance he requires.

#22 - RM - Ihazintu Malkorra - Age 24 - Sporting Iturributa - Uncapped
Malkorra, poached from cross-town rivals Royal Association, was recently honoured as one of the best wingers in the First Division and for good reason - his dribbling is mesmerising, and can flow freely from center midfield to the back to up on attack as the situation requires. Larribe is still the obvious first choice for his experience and scoring ability, but Malkorra is an excellent backup.

#17 - AM - Emenon Ulibarri - Age 27 - Echegoyan FC - Uncapped
The media have blasted Bachiondo for this choice, saying his bias as recently-sacked Echegoyan manager is showing. The fact remains that, although Echegoyan performed dismally in a 16th-placed finish just 3 points above relegation, Ulibarri was far and away their highlight of the season and one of the best attacking midfielders in the league. Initially making a name for himself with Old City Central and their shock Royal Cup-winning run, Ulibarri is both a capable playmaker and a deft scorer, not nearly as visionary as Duarte but more of a direct threat on goal.

#7 - CF – Egoitz Laurnagaray - Age 28 - Sporting Iturributa - 34 caps, 13 goals
A disappointing season for Laurnagaray has been capped with Urdanibia beating him as the first-choice striker, but the man from Olarria remains an excellent backup based on his prior national team form and his capacity to spin gold out of whatever he's handed. If the rest of the team is struggling and possession is scant, Laurnagaray can be an option to change up the attack and make those few chances count.

Captain: Baleren Narke
Vicecaptain: Xefe Larribe
Free Kick Taker: Xefe Larribe
Penalty Taker: Yasone Urdanibia

Home Grounds
The national team will play at the following grounds for the following matches:

vs. Tornado Queendom - at Grand Duke's Stadium, Rumiatzi (90,000).
vs. Sajnur - at Silanes Park, Echegoyan (55,000). Home of Echegoyan FC.
vs. Filindostan - at Ituraitz Sporting Ground, Ituraitz (63,000). Home of Ituraitz FC and Ituraitz Victory.
vs. Bliuji - at Grand Duke's Stadium, Rumiatzi (90,000).
vs. Brusseldorf - at Old City Stadium, Iturributa (72,000). Home of Iturributa United and Sporting Iturributa.
vs. Audioslavia - at Grand Duke's Stadium, Rumiatzi (90,000).

Grand Duke's Stadium in the capital city of Rumiatzi is the national team's primary venue and has been host to the final of World Cup 62 (won by The Holy Empire over Bears Armed), the final of the 45th UICA Champions' Cup (won by Vilita's Turoki Tide over Valanora's Raynor City United) and every final of the domestic Royal Cup tournament. Silanes Park and the Ituraitz Sporting Ground also hosted matches during World Cup 62, with the former being built specifically for that tournament. All grounds are all-seater.

Yes to all RP permissions, barring anything career-ending.

Eastfield Lodge Roster for World Cup 83

Image

Demonym: Eastfielder

Eastfield Lodge is a pretty glorious nation, somewhat situated in Northern Rushmore - in reality, there's a very small island (acting as a transport hub) which hosts a portal linking the NSverse to a small bubble universe, wherein the rest of the Imperial Commonwealth is located (barring a couple of nations, but they’re linked up in other ways). The IC part describes the fact that there are several empires contained within one superstructure – divisions which are somewhat reflected in the convoluted league structure.

Those of you who know this nation well however will wonder what has happened to the Whoniverse (the universe of Doctor Who, the TV programme). Don’t worry, I will (hopefully) RP what went on. To those who don’t know, this nation used be in the NSverse, but due to the acts of a lone madman from The Holy Empire (mad, or pitiful, the legends are a bit shaky), Eastfield Lodge almost vanished from existence, leaving behind a small island (now in Rushmore), attached to a portal connecting here to the Whoniverse. Things happened, the portal became unstable, and we had to form a bubble universe, and as a result, the resulting temporal shockwave both wiped out all electronic records, and did some weird stuff to people’s ages (hence why some names in the team may seem recognisable).

Anyways, because of the initial portal, whilst humans are the overwhelming majority of the populace here, don't be surprised to find several other races and much advanced technology here. Some more historical information can be found here, in lieu of a factbook (NB: a lot of the information there is inaccurate though, TG me for clarification).

Back to the nation itself, Eastfield Lodge is probably the best place to live in the entirety of Rushmore, according to the WA at any rate. Amongst the accolades heaped upon are: Most Compassionate Citizens, Most Beautiful Environments, Happiest Citizens, Most Dedicated Public Healthcare, Healthiest Citizens, Least Corrupt Government, Longest Average Lifespan, Lowest Crime Rates, Nicest Citizens, Largest Public Transportation Department, Safest, Smartest Citizens, Most Popular Tourist Destinations, Best Weather and Largest Welfare Programs. Also of note is the fact that, in a region containing Saintland, Eastfield Lodge is the Most Devout nation, with Islam being the national religion, and that we have the Highest Police Ratios, so do not be alarmed by the sheer number of police officers.

Lodger City Memorial Stadium
Location: New Lodger City
Capacity: 150,000
Description: The home of Eastfielder football, the stadium was built on the ruins of the old capital of Eastfield Lodge, Lodger City, which was flattened in a double disaster (severe floods from dams bursting and an explosion from an unknown source, killing much of the population of the city and rendering the city useless. Administrative functions were transferred over to Lodgertia, the city began to be rebuilt, and it was decided that this stadium would be one of the monuments erected in place. The inside walls contains inscriptions of the names of all the dead – just under 9 million. The stadium used to play host to the two classic giants of EL football – RGS Athletic and VLC FC - until both had their new stadiums finished; it is now only used for internationals and cup matches.

Parliament Stadium
Location: Lodgertia
Capacity: 80,000
Description: Formerly the second largest stadium in Eastfield Lodge (until King Iqbal II and Vorgan Park were completed), behind the Memorial Stadium in New Lodger City, it was built in the centre of Lodgertia, the capital of Eastfield Lodge, and the Imperial Commonwealth. It was named due to the fact that the Parliament is based just a few hundred metres down the road; in fact, the original stadium was actually joined to the Parliament building, as an area where MPs could watch or even engage in sport with the public, as well as being a designated protest site. However, with Lodgertia becoming more built up, it was decided that the stadium needed to be built up as well. It is home to Lodgertia United and Lodgertia City alongside being temporary hosts of RGS Athletic and VLC FC (when Lodger City was being rebuilt), and in the past has hosted several international matches, including the final of SBCC 27 and a group in both stages of Market Cup 4.

Manager: Jane Williamson
Age: 50. The first female player to play for the Eastfielder national team back in the day, the former RGS full back became the first big Eastfielder coach in another country, as she went and became the assistant manager for the Chromatika national team, and quite successfully, up until that nation's disappearance from the world. And quite fortunately, she landed in this role after the retirement of her predecessor, although things haven't started auspiciously for her so far, opting not to ring any big changes to the team's system for her first few cycles. Very much a man manager as opposed to an astute tactician.

Assistant Manager: Robert Andrews
Age: 50. The former national team striker, who had over a century of international appearances to his name during his career, was specifically recruited by the previous manager, his old friend and ex-teammate Shabeen Ahmad III. This is his first major job in football since his playing retirement, but his ability to calmly analyse situations even under immense pressure has earned him some plaudits from those in the know, and as such could prove to be a vital asset to the national team going forward.

Formation: 4-1-2-3
Image

The formation is a weird variant on the classic basic 4-3-3. Here, there is the one holding midfielder, and the other two are pushed up to play just off the ST as attacking midfielders, whilst the WFs are also slightly tucked in from a usual position. This allows them more of an equal choice of either cutting in or going out wide for the cross, which may be met by the other winger or one of the midfielders. The front five can drift to other positions at any time, just to keep defences on their toes. Defensively, the AMs will drop back and slightly out wide or into the middle as required, and are decently proficient at dispossessing the ball and using it well. The DM is mainly there to guard the defence, and is adept at picking out a pass (short or long), and helping to dictate plays. The CBs are as standard, but the FBs are given the freedom to roam forwards as far as they can get away with, and more often than will get involved in attacking plays, with some crosses from both deep and closer in.
In terms of goal scoring, the ST will get the bulk of the goals, with good contributions from both the AMs and the WFs as well. The WFs will get most of the assists, followed closely by the AMs, then the ST and DM.

If I do RP, I will include the line-up for the next match in my RP post, along with any suspensions/injuries. If there is no line-up, look through my posts and check for current suspensions/injuries, but otherwise it’s fine. Also, if you're RP'ing any part of my match, please use the full name Eastfield Lodge at least once, it helps me find the RP.

NB: As the people of EL are extremely compassionate, and very civilised (despite what you may say about the religion), it would be uncharacteristic for the coaches/players to lose their temper, dive deliberately (jumping out of the way of bad tackles and falling awkwardly doesn't count), to be sent to the stands (if the ref is clearly very biased however...), spit, argue with the ref or fight. Players will also tend to inform the referee about mistakes/clarifications in judgement regarding throw-ins, fouls given but with no contact and goal kicks/corner kicks (plus other bouts of honesty - up to you).

Qusmo eyes return to World Cup, but it won’t be easy

A Qusmi was named to the Galacticos Long-list for Player of the Season. The Galacticos Manager of the Season is Qusma. A Qusma club has advanced to the quarterfinals of the past two Champions’ Cups. Qusmo was awarded the rights to host Copa Rushmori XXXII. But none of these facts about the recent skyrocketing growth of football in Qusmo in the past few years captures the true extent of how far Qusmo has come in such a short time. Before World Cup 80 Qualifying, the country’s national team was unranked & had never before played a match; in World Cup 82, Qusmo not only qualified for & competed in the final tournament, but advanced to the knockout rounds, eliminated only on penalties. Now, Qusmo is about to start their campaign to qualify for World Cup 83 - & they seem as confident as ever.

“Of course, nothing is guaranteed, & nothing ever will be, unless we get to host the World Cup, too,” manager Avarn-Oxolt Ban cautioned. “But we’re ranked solidly within the top thirty-two in the Multiverse, we’re the Pot 1 team in our group, & we have every right to believe we can do it again; after all, we managed it last time, & we did quite well once we actually got to the tournament, to boot.”

That performance has turned many heads across the Multiverse - but it has also painted a bullseye squarely on the team’s back. “Yes, of course we have to deal with the pressure,” Avarn-Oxolt admitted. “But it’s not accurate to say we haven’t had to deal with that before. We struggled mightily at times during the last qualifying campaign; in fact, most of you [media] was reporting I was one dropped result away from getting the sack. But here I am today,” Avarn-Oxolt chuckled.

“This group of players knows how to handle pressure, & they know how to thrive under pressure. They did it in our qualifying campaign the last time around, & they did it in the World Cup proper, too. I’ve no doubt they’ll be able to do it again - & then we can talk about the World Cup once we actually get there.”

Of the twenty-five players on Qusmo’s roster throughout the entirety of World Cup 82 Qualifying, World Cup 82, & Copa Rushmori XXXII, only one was not invited to the fifty-player national team training camp: Otoln-Irtix Uzo, the third-choice goalkeeper on that national team squad who serves domestically as starting goalkeeper for KF Renan in Pug Qusmyra - which got relegated after finishing in last place last season.

Fourteen players who had never before been capped were invited to the national team training camp, with fully half of them coming from KF Atlov, the team that surprisingly went from Pug Qusma two seasons ago to fourteenth in Pug Qusmyra last season to fourth & headed to the Globe Cup this year. All fifty then played in Fuzpon Qusma’s annual Tour of the Multiverse series of friendlies to test out the various potential members of their squad.

Qusmo started by playing a Moden Derby at Q City; it was the seventh meeting between Qusmo & Qasden, making the Qads the most common opponent of the Qusmi’y. Three players from each of the two Tracam teams, KF Trew & KF Trosoc played in this match, with Trew striker Rilan-Jerat Nev scoring; however, Qusmo fell three-one. Cunix-Betva Tla then won their hundred first cap & their third as captain against Cobrio. Slightly more than half of the seventeen players based in foreign leagues who were called up to Qusmo's national team training camp played in this match, including Matez-Dwada Roz, a goalkeeper who plies their trade in Cobrio; the only Qusma clubs to see their players play in this match were KF Qastyr, with two players, & KF Werzin, with three. The result was a respectable nil-nil draw.

Qusmo then journeyed to Rushmore derby rivals Mytanija, in the team’s sixth match against the Mytanars. Paliv-Xilit Max scored Qusmo’s lone goal in a one-all draw which saw all six players from Pug Qusmyra champions KF Koflir called up to national team training camp play in this match. Only KF Atlov, with a record nine players for a single club, had as many players among the fifty selected, & all nine got to play in the next match, as well as one of two players from crosstown rivals KF Atlant - but the only two players at training camp who play for KF Poldanz were the only two players to score. Paliv-Xilit got to enjoy a moment in the limelight, however; the captain of Hinodejin club side Pascal Mashu, was awarded the captain’s armband for their national team for the first time in their career, guiding Qusmo to a two-nil win.

Finally, Qusmo capped off their Tour of the Multiverse with their traditional home finale, this time against Baker Park. The homecoming did not go exactly according to plan, however, as KF Atlov goalkeeper Jralv-Vlont Abe - who was auditioning for the open position of third-choice goalkeeper - conceded five goals. It was the sixth time in its history that Qusmo had ever conceded five goals in a single match, & it tied a World Cup 80 Qualifying home fixture against Ceni for most lopsided loss in Qusmo’s history; both ended five-one.

All told, Matez-Dwada didn’t get the role of Qusmo’s third-choice goalkeeper; that honour fell to Stahlburg City goalkeeper Prant-Telew Wek, who helped their club successfully navigate a year in the Nepharim Premiership after promotion from the First Division. However, that was the only change that was ultimately made; all other twenty-four spots in the roster went to the same twenty-four players who held them previously.

“It wasn’t intended to end up that way,” Avarn-Oxolt assured reporters. “It just happened to end up that way. Ultimately, these friendlies were still very useful; in addition to helping us select [Prant-Telew] Wek, we also know of some other fantastic names who just barely missed the cut, who we could invite for the second half of qualifiers or a tournament down the road if the players we’ve initially called up don’t pan out.”

“Ultimately, though, I have every bit of confidence that they well. This is the Qusma national team. We’ve silenced all our doubters & critics before, & there’s no doubt in my mind that this group of twenty-five players has precisely what it takes to do exactly that yet again. I’m looking forward to another fantastic World Cup Qualifying campaign - &, with these players in tow, I know it’s going to be special.”

Qusma Stadia
Fuzpon Qusma has scheduled three of its six home qualifying fixtures at Mastad Qusma: the first home match of the campaign, the last home match of the campaign, & the other fixture with the highest profile. The other three stadia are selected both to reward the supporters of high-performing Pug Qusmyra clubs & to allow Qusmi’y from across the country to support their national team in a match closer to home. As such, Mastad Kolla, Mastad Qastyra, & Mastad Tracama were selected to host one World Cup Qualifying match each.

Mastad Qusma was selected to host four World Cup Qualifying matches on the basis of being the national stadium of Qusmo. It is the largest stadium in Qusmo, & it hosts all Qusma domestic cup finals. It also hosted the national team’s first-ever match, as well as the semifinals & final of UICA Youth Cup 24 & the final of UICA Series B Champions’ Cup 69.

In keeping with tradition, the first & last qualifying group opponents Qusmo will host - Far Wor Eryunce, on Matchday Two, & San José Guayabal, on Matchday Fourteen - will play at Mastad Qusma. Additionally, the Matchday Twelve clash against Chromatika will also be played at the national stadium. Meanwhile, the Euran Oceania Territories will be hosted at Mastad Kolla, home to KF Koflir, champions of Pug Qusmyra, on Matchday Ten, & Mastad Qastyra, home of runners-up KF Qastyr, will host Competitive Solitaire on Matchday Six. Finally, on Matchday Four, Port Ember will visit Mastad Tracama, home of KF Trosoc.

Kits
ImageImageImage
The official kit supplier of the Qusma national team is the Starblaydian-based enterprise ediraf. These kits were officially debuted in the Third Tour of the Multiverse, a friendly series scheduled in preparation for World Cup 82 Qualifying. A new national team crest was also created by the design team at ediraf to completely overhaul Fuzpon Qusma’s visual identity. The kits harken back to the original kits worn by the national team for their first two cycles of competition &, most importantly, to national symbols like Qelam Qusma & the flag of Qusmo. With a national team that is rapidly rising through the ranks, twenty-second place in the rankings & a spot in the World Cup knockout rounds seems like just the beginning. Fuzpon Qusma hopes that they will follow up their feat of qualifying for their first-ever World Cup last cycle by doing so again in this cycle; the supply of all new, advanced technology kits that are lighter & more comfortable, durable, & breathable than their previous ones may not grant Qusma players much of an actual physical edge over their opposition, but it is a statement of intent: Fuzpon Qusma intends to qualify for the World Cup, & Fuzpon Qusma intends to spare no expense to ensure not even the smallest advantage is left untaken.

Note on Qusma Culture
All Qusma are biologically androgynous; you should refer to them in your RPs as they or them. Speaking of referring to Qusmi’y, if you plan to use names, know that the “first” name - the long, hyphenated one - is a Qusmi’s family name, & the “last” name - the short, unhyphenated one - is their given name. On the subject of proper nomenclature, when you read my RPs, you should know that Qusmo refers to the country of Qusmo, Qusma is an adjective for something that is from or of Qusmo, a Qusmi is a person who is Qusma, Qusmi’y are a group of more than one Qusmi, Qusmu is the native language of most Qusmi’y, & the Qastyr is the Qusmu name for the country’s leader. I keep many of my RPs stored in my sportswire; feel free to reference these or contact me directly if you have any questions or would like to learn more.

Qusma History
Before World Cup 80 Qualifying, Qusmo was unranked. Its national team had never played a match before. It entered competition with almost no expectations of success. However, its first-ever match was an historic two-nil victory over Wolves Clans at Mastad Qusma, & the Qusmi’y followed that with a four-nil win over reigning Baptism of Fire champions Beepee in that country’s first home match. Qusmo has outdone expectations ever since, advancing to the knockout rounds of Cup of Harmony 72, winning bronze at Cup of Harmony 73, & qualifying for World Cup 82, where they advanced to the knockout rounds & were eliminated by Farfadillis on penalties. Now, as a Pot 1 nation solidly within the top thirty-two in the Multiverse, Qusmo is about to try to meet the expectations before it in World Cup 83 Qualifying - nothing less than winning Group E & qualifying for a second consecutive World Cup.

Postby Grod Island » Sat Aug 03, 2019 1:05 am

Grod Island National Team

Manager: Edward Rose

Edward Rose was a former defender of the Grodian team. He was appointed as the manager of the team just before the ILFA Premiership replacing Ian Wissa. He successfully lead the team to the third position in the ILFA league and also got the team till the Round of 16. We have many expectations from him.

Assistant Manager: Leman Dres

Leman Dres is also a former Grodian player. He won 56 caps for the team. He is currently the manager of Communist FC in the Grodian Premiership and has led the team to two back to back league wins.

Team

Formation: 4-3-1-2

GK: Emmanuelle London
Emmanuelle London has been a great player in the BoF. He shot into fame after his excellent save in the league. He has been consistent although he is not as good as Cayman Coetzer, the former keeper.

LB: André Winfred
Winfred is an excellent player who is one of the best defenders in the country. He has also won the Grodian Gold Ball 2 years ago. We can expect a lot from him.

CB: Jean Marie Marshal
Jean is the son of former Grodian great Napoleon Marshal. Like his father, Jean has managed to become a talented footballer. His daddy will be proud of him.

CB: Tobin Gilbert
Tobin Gilbert is another fantastic defender who has managed to be a top defender for the country. He is nicknamed "The Wall" due to his ability to block the player from reaching the goalpost.

RB: Donald Leopold
Leopold has been playing for the country for 10 years and this is going to be his last international tournament in his career. His experience and skill will be crucial for the team.

LM: Mateo Lopez (c)
Mateo Lopez has been the captain of the Grodian team for the BoF and is the perfect midfielder for the team. His charm has won him the nickname "Captain Cool".

CM: Paulinho (vc)
Football is present in the blood of Brazil. Paulinho, who is a Grodian with Brazilian ancestry is the nation's beat midfielder. Known to score goals in the stoppage time, this guy can turn the tables.

RM: Timothy Lewis
Timothy Lewis is another young league star who has become popular in the country. This is his first international. Let us hope this guy can play.

CM: James Anderson
Anderson has scored for the country since 2 years and is quite an experienced attacking midfielder. He is the perfect guy to help Lang and Fletcher.

CF: Nick Lang
Lang is one of the finest strikers of the nation. He lead the team into the IAFF Qualifiers. He is the second highest scorer ever for Grod Island with 112 international goals bettered only by ex football great Joe Macron. Along with his partner Liam, he is an unstoppable force in the game.

CF: Liam Fletcher
19 year old wonderkid Liam Fletcher is the most talented striker in the country. This handsome blondie loved by every girl in the country is expected to deliver some excellent goals in the WC.

Substitutes
CF: Fahad Baig
CM: Keith Salins
RB: Karan Malhotra
GK: Jermie D'Arangtan

Reduce ages of players by two years for first half of qualifying, one year for second half.

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

Manager – Alexander SAMPSON, Age 60
Former assistant boss and Krytenian international back in the day, Sampson took the reigns halfway through the Dragons' Matchday Eight game agaisnt Garifunya in World Cup 82 after Valrauncion's infamous meltdown. A disappointing AOCAF campaign, however, means his own position will be under scrutiny.

Assistant Manager – Jonathan KERR, Age 44
Goalkeeping Coach – Marcus BAILEY, Age 61
Defensive Coach – Alfie XOUSA, Age 62
Offensive Coach – Graham OWENS, 49
Physiotherapist – Victoria BARCA, Age 49

THE SQUAD

Image
Marcus WASHINGTON
Age: 33
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Ousevale Borough

Washington's cat-like reflexes are the stuff of legend. Don't let the fact he's only 5'11” fool you.

Image
Thomas SCOTT
Age: 32
Position: Right-back
Club: Emberton Reds

More of a wing-back than a full back. What he lacks in pure speed is made up for in intelligence.

Image
Christopher JOEL
Age: 31
Position: Left-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Built like a sprinter, and able to move the ball at speed. Doesn't shy away from the tackle, either.

Image
Gareth BRANNAN
CAPTAIN
Age: 30
Position: Centre-back
Club: Ashton Olympic

Built like a boulder. Not the fastest in the world, but when he challenges for the ball, you'll know about it.

Image
Matthew GRAY
Age: 32
Position: Centre-back
Club: Emberton Reds

Tall and rangy, Gray complement's Brannan's strength with wiry speed. Perm would be reminiscent of Colin Ulvæus if it wasn't the wrong colour.

Image
Murray SCHWARZKOPF
Age: 30
Position: Central midfield
Club: Stanton Town

The crew cut belies this no-nonsense midfielder's mindset.

Image
Jake HANSEN
Age: 27
Position: Left midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Elder of the Hansen twins, by a whole seven minutes.

Image
Joe HANSEN
Age: 27
Position: Right midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Younger of the Hansen twins, by a whole seven minutes.

Image
Chris NAISMITH
Age: 33
Position: Forward
Club: Ousevale Borough

Definitely a chip of the Ousevale striker block. The gaffer is proud.

Image
Joshua COQUELIN
Age: 28
Position: Forward
Club: Casuals Osteria

The Cock may have high-tailed it back to Starblaydia, but we still have The Coq.

Image
Selaphiel KENNEDY
Age: 23
Position: Forward
Club: Stanton Town

The Kennedy dynasty continues as young Selly follows in the footsteps of Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel in breaking into the national team. Why this lot are still all loyal to the Dockers is anyone's guess, mind.

Image
Stephen MARINER
Age: 22
Position: Central midfield
Club: Mercia Bromham

A midfield general more mature than his tender years.

Image
Pablo IBANEZ
Age: 29
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Avidia City

No relation. Thankfully.

Image
Malcolm AITKEN
Age: 34
Position: Right midfield
Club: Caledon Simpson

Diminutive but tricky winger, has matured with age without losing too much pace.

Image
Will VASSER
Age: 32
Position: Right-back
Club: Casuals Osteria

Agile if not the fastest. Likes to jockey and prevent rather than commit to the tackle.

Image
Freddie HAMES
Age: 33
Position: Central midfield
Club: Mercia Bromham

At ease in the middle of the park or just behind the forwards.

Image
Callum QUIROGA
Age: 28
Position: Forward
Club: Avidia United

Expect him to make waves off the bench if Naismith or Kennedy are misfiring.

Image
Callum SCOTLAND
Age: 24
Position: Forward
Club: Ousevale Borough

With one descendant of a famous Krytie striker, why not another? Naismith's club team-mate and a opportunistic striker, with a lineage going up to the great Darren Scotland.

Image
Ellis DUCAINE-PETIT
Age: 31
Position: Centre-back
Club: Caversham

Solid centre-back, ridiculous name.

Image
Miguel TORRES
Age: 31
Position: Centre-back
Club: Avidia United

Stocky and solid in the tackle. Suffers a bit with the aerial game though.

Image
John BURTON
Age: 31
Position: Left midfield
Club: Leston Town

A lover of the early cross to the far stick.

Image
Anthony BODZA
Age: 27
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Dereapolis City

Will relish a chance if Washington falters.

Image
Hywel AP HYWEL
Age: 25
Position: Left-back
Club: New Cefn Albion

Young intelligent defender, a biggish fish in a small pond. Suffers from having unimaginative parents, á la Mitchell Mitchell.

LIKELY STARTERS
1. Washington
15. Vasser – 19. Ducaine-Petit – 20. Torres – 3. Joel
8. Joe Hansen – 12. Mariner – 7. Jake Hansen

World Cup 83

Sargossa - 'The Corsairs'

The Sargossan national side is experiencing something of a purple patch, with final four appearances at two of the previous three Copa Rushmoris and last sixteen exits at the last two World Cups, before running into a pair of Atlantian heavyweights in Vilita and Starblaydia. A joint highest ever position in the world rankings is the result of that, something that Rodrigo Defederico and his staff can be hugely proud of.

Head Coach

Rodrigo Defederico
Former international midfielder who starred in the SuperLiga, before plying his trade in Astograth. A former coach of the Olympic side who led hometown club Dunas Del Sol to the Copa Sargossa final in his first full season in charge. Has led the Corsairs to second and fourth place finishes in the Copa Rushmori and three straight World Cup qualification.

Backroom Staff

Assistant Head Coach: Raúl Churín
Defensive Coach: Guillermo Lucena
Attacking Coach: Alejandro Tapia
Goalkeeping Coach: Armando Abad
Fitness Coach: Mario Sánchez
Team Doctor: Dr Carla Segura

Talent

GK: 1. Sergio Vega (33) – Dínamo Maturín
GK: 13. Carlos Ríos (32) – Sportivo Soluca
GK: 25. Roberto Penedo (26) – Dunas Del Sol

Vega and Ríos provide the international experience but it’s the youngster Penedo, given his league debut by Rodrigo Defederico when in charge of Dunas, who is set to be given the nod after an eventful Copa Rushmori and another solid league campaign.

DR: 2. Alonzo Zevallos (29) – Ciudad Soluca
DRC: 5. José Guerrero (32) – Ciudad Soluca
DC: 6. Alex González (31) – Oakstone (Eura)
DL: 3. Saúl Escribano (26) – Sportivo Soluca
DLC: 12. Fabián Parra (29) – Dínamo Maturín
DRC: 14. Enrique Muñoz (28) – Sporting San Marquez
DL: 19. Germán Montero (33) – Dínamo Maturín
DC: 21: Jesús Venegas (30) – Sportivo Soluca

Seemingly you don’t get a look in as a SuperLiga centreback unless you happen to clear six foot so expect an imposing wall of darker blue arrayed ahead of the keeper. Alex González is a classy ball playing central defender in the traditional Gozan mould and is will continue to sit at the centre of the back three. A move to Euran football can only benefit him and the defence as a whole. That’s certainly the hope, given the side’s recent propensity to leak goals. Muñoz has emerged as a defender par excellence domestically and is expected to edge out the long serving José Guerrero. Parra will likely occupy the third berth but he is being pushed hard by the reliable Jesús Venegas. Montero and Zevallos provide first choice options if wing backs are deployed or if the coach reverts to a back four. Although Zevallos attacking thrust has often seen him used on the right of midfield.

MC: 4. Sergio Espina (31) – Alianza Jucaro
AMR: 7. Diego Puebla (29) – El Nacional
MC: 8. Alejandro Vecino (38) – Dínamo Maturín
AML: 11. Carlos Álvarez (32) – Porto Alegro Azul
AMRC: 15. Mariano Carballar (29) – Sportivo Soluca
MC: 16. César Goyoso (26) – Sporting San Marquez
DMC: 18. Luís Vazquez (30) – Sportivo Cordova
DMC: 22. Ignacio Navarro (34) – Sporting San Marquez
AMLC: 24. Alfredo Valenzuela (30) – Dunas Del Sol

Alejandro Vecino hasn’t quite called it a day yet but he’s likely to be used sparingly and, as such, leaves a considerable hole in the heart of the side. Rafael Bustamanté’s failure to impress at the Copa Rushmori in Mytanija sees the former heir apparent out of contention entirely. Instead it’s César Goyoso who will partner captain Sergio Espina in the centre of the park. Valenzuela provides nice balance on the left but faces competition from the pacy yet erratic Carlos Álvarez. Vazquez and Navarro, two midfield battlers in a traditional Sargossan mould, provide more defensive minded options and Carballar will challenge Alonzo Zevallos for a place on the right.

FLC: 9. Miguel Ángel Berganza (29) – El Nacional
FRLC: 10. Miguel Marí (35) – Dínamo Maturín
FC: 17. Fabián Guzmán (28) – Sporting San Marquez
FRC: 20. Matías Cáceres (31) – Ciudad Soluca
FL: 23. Andrés Saavedra (28) – Estrella Torreón
FC: 26. Tomas Murillo (26) – Alianza Jucaro

Much of The Corsairs’ recent success had stemmed from the fluid offensive play provided by the attacking trident of Iván Mayoral, Miguel Marí and Matías Cáceres. But with Mayoral’s international retirement and Marí no spring chicken either an injection of fresh blood was needed. Fabián Guzmán, a usual impact sub in the last campaign, will replace Mayoral as the centre ‘point’ and the domestic form of Miguel Ángel Berganza should see him start too. Saavedra provides a more conventional wide option on the left.

Style

Defederico credits former Sargossan great Ernesto Farias for his own tactical approach, a 3-4-3 system with a high defensive line and an emphasis on pressing and harrying the opposition into a mistake. He is also far more attack minded than his predecessor and his players are encouraged to get the ball from front to back at a rapid pace. Long balls are considered anathema, with even the goalkeeper encouraged to slide a pass to the defender rather than hoofing it up field. The system is relatively fluid, with 5-3-2, 3-4-1-2 and 5-4-1 all used to some degree, depending on the circumstances and opposition.

Although following a home qualification defeat to Drawkland Defederico tweaked his favoured style, dropping his wide midfielders for deeper wingbacks. But still putting a focus on the offensive side of things. Five clean sheets in the final seven games followed and consequently the side are expected to stick with the 5-3-2 going into the Finals.

The SuperLiga is quite a physical league so challenges can often be described as 'uncompromising' and cards are pretty common. Gamesmanship, while never encouraged, is also not entirely uncommon. But diving is considered particularly stigmatic so Sargossan players are unlikely to be found doing it.

Venues

Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado
City: Soluca
Capacity: 108,879
Tenants: Ciudad Soluca, Sportivo Soluca
Opponent(s): Drawkland

The centrepiece of a major beautification development in the capital, the stadium sits within the Parque De Los Vencedores and alongside the Corazal River. Designed by Nethertopian architect Gert Naamloos and part financed by two SuperLiga clubs, the Sargossan government and Starblaydi sportswear giants ediraf it is a truly magnificent sporting arena. The Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado, as the ediraf Arena was rechristened when the naming rights deal expired, is the epitome of a modern football stadium. Consequently, it is the national side’s most commonly used venue. Unfortunately, the glamourous surroundings are marred somewhat by the Soluca crowds’ reputation for being both fickle and moody.

Image
Image

Independienté
City: Goza
Capacity: 119,354
Tenants: El Nacional
Opponent(s): Kelssek

The very antithesis to the modern Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado, and revelling in that fact. The internal facilities may have been kept relatively up to date at the Independienté but little has changed at the vast open bowl since its construction. The nation’s largest sporting venue and one that prides itself on the genuine carnival atmosphere produced on matchdays.

Ciudad Deportiva
City: Maturín
Capacity: 52,000
Tenants: Dínamo Maturín
Opponent(s): Osarius

Although the name has come to refer to the stadium alone the Ciudad Deportiva is actually a whole site devoted to sporting excellence. Constructed as part of a government drive to boast sport, the site is also home to the national Track and Field Centre of Excellence, an aquatic centre, basketball and volleyball facilities and a state-of-the-art sport science clinic. The stadium itself is an impressive venue that is regularly voted as the top matchday experience by fans in the SuperLiga. The Sargossan record there too is very strong, having dropped points only three times in the eighteen matches played in Maturín over the years.

Estadio Silva
City: San Marquez
Capacity: 62,543
Tenants: Sporting San Marquez
Opponent(s): Togonistan

Like the Independienté the Estadio Silva is one of the older venues used by the national side. Set within one of the poorer districts of the eclectic southern city of San Marquez, in amongst the brightly coloured favelas and street vendors, a trip to the stadium is more a cultural experience than a sporting one for the foreign visitor. Some famous nations have taken to the Estadio Silva turf in the past, names such as Sorthern Northland, Candelaria And Marquez and Cassadaigua.

Bonilla Arena
City: Jucaro
Capacity: 74,475
Tenants: Alianza Jucaro
Opponent(s): New Saria

The quintessential rich man’s play thing, Alianza Jucaro are the nearly men of Sargossan domestic football. Bankrolled by the mega-wealthy Bonilla family the club have won three national cup competitions in recent years but have never claimed the league title they so crave. While the Bonillas have thrown money at the playing staff they’ve also invested heavily in infrastructure, including the stadium that bears their name. Set in the South Quays district of the port city, right on the waters of the Bay of Carrasco, it’s an imposing venue for visiting sides.

Petro Dome
City: Mercada
Capacity: 42,511
Tenants: Petro Mercada
Opponent(s): Copper Cuprum

In a city so synonymous with Petro National, the Sargossan national oil and gas company, it’s no surprise to find both the local football team and the stadium in which they play blazoned with the Petro name. Oil wealth has yet to equal success on the pitch for the Incan side but that wealth may have played some part in the city replacing island rivals Torreón in the World Cup rotation.

Darkmania has three stadias to be used for the Qualifying

Örkendrem Nätionaljë Foëtbäll Arëna (Örkendrem National Football Arena) [Capiblty: 50 000]
This is the "official" venue and the one used the most. Mainly used mostly by the football team FC Örkemdrem 97 (who uses a red-white jersey, hence the colours).

The venue that was the replacement for ÖNFA doing the qualifying for the 82th World Cup and as already become a fan-favorite.

Cäer Foëtbäll Stadÿon [40 000]
The newest stadium to get clearance, the Cäer Foëtbäll Stadÿon arent a new one, having been open for 25 years as of now.

Stadiums & Supporters
During World Cup qualifying, the Condottieri will play their home games at a few different venues in and around the city of Freeport, with the biggest matches to be held at Condottieri Coliseum, the recently-constructed high-capacity stadium built by the Freeport Hoofball Association with the financial backing of the Council of Thirteen for just such an occasion as a World Cup qualifier. Regardless of the venue however, expect the locals to be out in force with more than a little enthusiasm. Flags, flares, signs, and drums are fixtures at all hoofball games in Freeport as fans will go to extreme lengths to support their team. Fights are fairly common as well at the club level as teams are frequently a symbol of neighborhood or district pride in the city of Freeport itself or that of the smaller cities and towns as a whole in the outlying islands of the archipelago. The FHA is sparing little expense with regards to match day security for the national team, however, so as to not keep foreign supporters (and more importantly: their tourism money) out of Freeport, so fights probably won't be nearly as prevalent during World Cup qualifying.

That said, Freeport didn't earn its historic reputation as a haven for pirates, smugglers, and lowlifes of every sort without reason. The Council of Thirteen has kept Freeport clear of most serious criminal activity, or at least kept it from ruining the city-state financially, since coming to power centuries ago. Crime has been brought down further and some of Freeport's worst poverty and inequality issues have been alleviated with the relatively recent reforms introduced by Archon Sunset Shimmer, but the islands are still far from an idyllic tropical paradise. Foreigners should be cautious when visiting Freeport, though so long as they steer clear of the rougher areas of the city-state and generally avoid causing any disruption to the business of Freeport's wealthy elite, they should be relatively safe. But, as a rule, if you go looking for trouble in Freeport, whether it's from a pickpocket, a street gang, a mercenary guild employed by a sufficiently wealthy (and vengeful) Freeport business-owner, or - if you're really stupid - the Council of Thirteen or the Archon Sunset Shimmer herself, trouble is sure to find you.

Squornshelan Remnant States Black-and-Reds Roster
The Story So Far:
Of old, there was the Imperium of Squornshelous, rapacious, tyrannical, and presumably still out there behind some self-imposed wall of isolationism and ill humor. Despite its many flaws, it was a powerhouse of international football, qualifying for the World Cup 36 times in 37 attempts, and lifting the trophy in the tournament's 31st edition. Some 85 years ago, all that came crashing down. Riots after an early elimination from World Cup 41 proved the spark that set off a long overdue revolution that eventually saw the western half of the country, largely composed of conquered lands and separated by sea from the Squornshelan mainland, break away to form a democratic state: the Confederacy. This state rejoined the international community after several decades of isolation, and also reinstated the old tradition of football. Making its debut in Baptism of Fire 68, and finishing respectably despite failing to qualify for World Cups 81 and 82, the Confederacy has risen rapidly upward through the rankings to the present day. Many believe that the upcoming cycle will see our return to the Group Stage, and the ascension of this nation to the upper echelons of international football is viewed as an inevitability by some of its more hubristic citizens. The team is known for a style of play that is certainly more on the defensive side, but is far from simply parking the bus.

There has never been more pressure on the Confederate team than there is entering this qualifying campaign. In pot 2 by virtue of the large number of groups, the Black-and-Reds have an excellent chance to make the second stage of qualifying. Despite their position at 48th making it appear a long shot, there will definitely be a fair amount of disappointment at home if they fail to qualify. In recent tournaments, the team has been characterized by a top-heavy scorers list, something Donnell will need to address as major contributors like Damot and Jzvanic aren't getting any younger. There are some concerns about the health of the SCFA from an administrative perspective. Founding president Rijkhard Provorov abruptly stepped down shortly before the start of qualification, and hastily named successor Ailen Koirala will have her work cut out for her.

A very down-to-earth manager who drills humility and discipline into her players, making sure they do the hard yards and don't get carried away with their status. After she was let go midway through her second year at Northern Union, the SCFA extended an offer based on the promise of her seasons spent at Pikemouth. There, she was able to build a smaller club into a consistent lower-league challenger, and the hope is that she can do a similar job with the still fledgling Black-and-Reds. She is viewed very positively in the Confederacy by both fans and SCFA leadership, having delivered a Round-of-Sixteen appearance in her competitive debut at the 6th IAC Championship, and leading the Black-and-Reds to within three points of qualifying for the 82nd World Cup. The vast majority of Confederates are optimistic about the national team's future under her leadership.

TAMGU ENTERS WC83!

Image

This is the first eleven the manager Albin Nerovod has chosen for the competition.
Image
The Tamguna National Team squad as of 2019 is as follows:
Toy Estogas (GK, N1, A34) the 192cm goalkeeper has been playing for the national team since he was 21.
Sami Felter (GK, N91, A22) the upcoming goalkeeper has shown great potential over the years and looks to overtake Estogas.
Hert Yonyi (GK, N35, A27) nothing special, third goalkeeper.
Dano Teilar (CB, N2, A26) a strong and tall centre-back that excels at headers and sending the ball up the pitch.
Pate Konar (CB N3, A27) another strong and tall centre-back, is the best tackler the country has seen in decades.
Eren Postas (CB, N4, A23) the young star has been rising up in the recent years and has earned himself a national cap in 2019.
Han Tekran (CB, N14, A31) RIP
Dano Lekser (CB, N41, A28) a solid backup.
Dünser Yakem (CB, N42, A25) great player, but he gets benched for postas a lot.
Tanel Tayman (LM, N7, A27) talented and quick dribbler, makes a lot of assists.
Enzo Amor (LM, N77, A21) A failed wonderkid, very talented but doesn't have a professional attitude, plays because nobody else can.
Sayken Ilko (CM, N8, A30) Free-kick specialist, also a great passer.
Canke Elak (CM, N31, A27) Nothing special, but very strong.
Uruke Mantes (CM, N12, A24) A midfield head winner, has stamina to keep running for 90 minutes, intercepts passes and carries the ball forward.
Yann Ulsima (CM, N45, A19) Wonderkid, everybody prays he won't end up like Enzo.
Aleida Leima (CAM, N10, A25) An all around number ten. quick, good passer, good shooter, has great vision.
Halku Orantez (CAM, N17, A31) Another talented number ten, but he is past his prime, can't stay on the pitch as long as he could before.
Reki Reizo (RM, N20, A28) Technically strong right midfielder that is good at shooting and long passing, doesn't dribble as much as Tayman.
Egan Duman (RM, N61, A26) A carbon copy of reki reizo, can be swapped and nobody would see the difference.
Ante Nekir (ST, N9, A24) Striker that can fire rockets with both feet. has good movement to make up for his lack of pace.
Paletar Soros (ST, N11, A25) Tall aerial threat. has great chemistry with Nekir.
Federik Umar (ST, N21, A29) Quick striker, doesn't get played much since he can't link up with Nekir.
Takra Resak (ST, N44, A37) Legendary striker that is retiring this season.
Albin Nerovod (M) Manager that has started working with the National Team this year, has seen success in the past.

The Starblaydia national football team factbook will tell you more about the team, their style, culture, fans, and history than I can ever write in a simple roster post. If you need more background information or just fancy browsing 15 RL years of football history, that's a fairly decent place to look.

1) Starblaydia's style modifier is 0

3) I actively encourage that if you RP first you pick my scorers (if any) and their style of goal.

Five-time World, six-time Regional, two-time Under-21, one-time Under-18 and one-time Olympic Men's Football champions Starblaydia will line up for their 64th participation in the multiverse's oldest and most prestigious competition. They're looking to build on the Quarter-Final appearance of four years ago and live up to their 11th spot in the rankings.

To achieve this, manager Ázëwyn Fëanáro has mixed her core team of tried and trusted individual with the best of the youth squads she has been bringing through since taking command of the entire national team setup. Players who were in the two Under-18 World Cup Finals - with one loss and one victory to their name - have been making steady progress of breaking into this team and it won't be long before almost all of this side have tasted glory in a Starblaydia shirt. The aim, however, is not just to win junior tournaments, but to win senior ones again, as Starblaydia aim for the pinnacle of the world and an unprecedented sixth World Cup championship. They're a side that almost any team in the competition will fear, but they're not mentioned in the bracket of favourites quite yet.

The full makeup of the team is as follows:

Staff
AF. Ázëwyn Fëanáro*, Manager, 4,061 - World Cup 44 & 47 Winner, World Cup Hall of Famer
270 Caps, 71 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
Fëanáro scored the winner in the 47th Final against Valanora, denying them a title on their own turf and lifting Starblaydia to the mantle of all-time greatest team. Known for her excellent attacking play, range of passing and great eye for goal that lifts her to second in the all-time goalscorers list too, by virtue of a nearly 1-in-4 ratio, Ázëwyn Fëanáro is a symbol of grace, power and beauty from Starblaydia's golden age, some hundred and fifty years ago when the Cup was in its 40s. It is these qualities that the SFA managed to recapture with Fëanáro at the helm, bringing her trademark poise and piercing yell to the touchlines after more than a decade of national failures. She's taken her team to three consecutive World Cups and twice to the Second Round; can this be the time they break through this latest barrier?

JM. Jerzy Makuszewski, Assistant Manager, 71
83 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Known as "Chef" by those who can pronounce his surname correctly, Makuszewski took up the mantle of "Best in the World" Lucas Cable to become Starblaydia's unassailable number one between the posts and wear the captain's armband. Always a fiery character, he can shift from jovial to furious in moments, and is Fëanáro's 'enforcer', barking out orders and remonstrating with players and officials with equal fervour.

Goalkeepers
1. Cosmo Leopoldi, GK, 24 - Colonial Sile (Vilita) Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
12 Caps, 0 Goals (12 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Making his way through Under-18, Under-21 and Under-23 goalkeeper, Cosmo looks like he has everything to succeed as Starblaydia's leading goalie, and a winners' medal at the Sporting World Cup was the perfect start to an international career full of promise and potential. Spotted by Vilitan scouts at a young age, Leopoldi's talent with his feet as a ball player as well as a goal stopper with his hands is what marks him out as a special talent. He sat on Starblaydia's bench for the entirety of the previous World Cup campaign, but after Ollarion's weak AOCAF 58 tournament, Leopoldi has been given the nod.

12. Amari Ollarion*, GK, 32 - Corinthian Spirits Image
33 Caps, 0 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Ollarion was the first female goalie to cement herself between the posts for the Starblaydi senior side in a very long time, and being a Liga Starblaydia winner with the Spirits is further proof of her quality. Ollarion has a good command of her area and is cool under pressure, though tends to punch more often than is strictly necessary. She's been ousted in the pecking order by young Leopoldi, but will be looking to claim back her place the moment the Under-18 World Cup winner slips up.

19. Martin Bennet, GK, 36 - Paricone Athletic FC Image
34 Caps, 1 Goal (5 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Bravery is the number one part of Bennet's game, standing tall and strong against even the most bestial of hulking strikers he faces, diving at the feet of the fastest of forwards as his wonky broken nose will attest to. The sheer size of the man often makes the goal look small, and after being out of the national team for a couple of tournament, he's come back stronger and makes the squad once more to provide more than a healthy level of competition for the other two goalies.

Defenders
2. Maria Reyes*, R/CB, 26 - Chaolan Zaibatsu (Kita-Hinode) Image
27 Caps, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Has spent her whole career in Kita-Hinode to this point and is included in this starting XI for her versatility and a dominant right foot, sitting on the right side of the back three, rather than at her usual full-back slot.

3. Theodore Sigismund, L/CB, 28 - Sabrefell Athletic (Nephara) Image
36 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Playing for the two-time Globe Cup champions, Sabrefell Athletic of Nephara, Sigismund is big and strong but also positionally aware enough and has the athleticism to play as a full-back, which will serve the team well in this fluid back three.

5. Sami Viipuri, CB, 31 - Vegai FC (Velestria) Image
57 Caps, 2 Goals (5 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
A tall, strong central, left-footed central defender with an eye to getting up at corners, his positioning is the best part of his game, reading the play and snuffing out the passes before they get dangerous, as well as tracking back against the speedy forwards he may face. He's the most experienced of the defenders at this level and is enjoying the fruits of his labour with a big-money move to the Starblaydi expat club of Velestria, where he's a designated player and will find himself a very rich man if he stays under the management of Starblaydia's former golden girl at the helm, Ella Kabeya.

13. Falka Kaumolainen*, CB, 22 - Hallad Reavers Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
16 Caps, 0 Goals (11 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Positionally excellent, using her brain to be one step ahead of the play for a crucial interception, clearance or well-timed tackle, the platinum blonde ponytail of Kaumolainen is becoming quite the spectacle at the Reavers, now that she's been brought into the first team to bolster their defence. even at her young age. In the end, the Reavers lost out on a Globe Cup place by just three points, and made the Quarter-Finals of the Tiberius Cup. Kaumolainen was the better of Starblaydia's Under-18 central defenders and has thus earned her place in the squad.

14. Arnold Navarro, CB/DM, 27 - Jhanna City Image
19 Caps, 0 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
A versatile defender, equally at home being the first or last line of defence, Navarro's solid appearances for JCFC have placed him firmly in the picture for the national team. Able to easily fill in for any of the three centre-backs or two deep-lying midfielders, Navarro is expected to get a lot of playing time from the bench, rotated in against the lower-ranked teams to get crucial international minutes under his belt.

20. Henri Apollo, LB, 20 - Ionia United Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
1 Cap, 0 Goals (12 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
With three Under-18 World Cup-winning full-backs to choose from to provide a little cover down the side, Fëanáro has chosen Henri Apollo over the likes of Imane Al-Hashem and Ursula Namaan for this edition of the World Cup. Tall and lean, with a confidence on the ball that's hard to beat, he's not the modern type of full-back to continually scamper down the wing, but is more of a calm and steadying influence - one that should be perfect (if a little young) to be slotting into Sigismund's spot when required.

Midfielders
4. Viola Capodanno*, Captain, L/DM, 28 - Northern Union (Brenecia) Image
68 Caps, 12 Goals (8 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
She's been the rock in the heart of the Starblaydi midfield, a box to box player who's exceptionally good at breaking up attacks, commanding the defence and beginning attacks afresh. Ázëwyn Fëanáro was the first to genuinely believe that Capodanno was an international-class player, and this current Starblaydi midfield gives her every opportunity to continue to develop into just the type of player that Fëanáro herself would have longed to play alongside. Now reaching her peak years, this team's rock is performing at the top of her game.

6. Kota Sato, L/AM, 31 - Marine Coast United (Vilita) Image
49 Caps, 14 Goals (5 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Kota Sato is an exciting midfield star, notable for also racing away down the wing at MCU, hurdling challenges as he goes. He's at his best facing the goal and making runs with a naturally high top speed. With back to goal, however, he's usually forced into a pass as he doesn't have that explosive acceleration that would make him truly great. When his teammates around him play well and to his strengths, there's few defenders who have a chance of stopping him. If his talents can be contained, however, he can become a wandering, ineffectual figure. Being paired in the centre with Apelles should really allow him to find the space and get the team ticking along.

7. Arkady Krakowski, LM/LW, 24 - Articala Inlet (Vilita) Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
32 Caps, 3 Goals (11 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
The wing wizard, a blur of bright orange boots and so often sprinting down the touchline or cutting inside to head for goal, the former Overdrive youngster was given the captain's armband for the Under-18s and it proved to be an excellent decision. With this, Ázëwyn Fëanáro got Krakowski to play the role of a key and skilled component among a greater whole, leading by example like all great Starblaydi captains. Now moving into the senior side, he has made the left side of the pitch his own as he continues to improve. A few more goals from this young man will really help fill out the natural threat that his speed brings.

8. Calindra Apelles*, C/AM, 22 - Northern Union (Brenecia) Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
23 Caps, 6 Goals (12 Caps, 5 Goals at youth level)
She's a string-puller, the rhythm-setter and playmaker in the heart of midfield, but she's just as likely to ghost to the edge of the box and rifle the ball into the back of the net from distance. Though defending is not her strong suit, Apelles has an arsenal of clever plays at her command already and is sure to use them to confound defender and stadium cameraman alike. Jumped at the opportunity to join captain Capodanno at Brenecian side Northern Union, where they're really showing a midfield link for both club and country.

11. Kaori Yamaguchi*, R/CM, 23 - Foxchester Raiders Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
21 Caps, 2 Goals (12 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
A hell of a youth academy at Foxchester Raiders over the last few years, producing the likes of Syku Ryku and Mezna Rayyen, along with Sutter McCloud and also Yamaguchi. This all-round midfielder plays confidently with her head up, always looking for the incisive pass or the quick dribble to gain ground and take defenders out of the game with dynamic passing and movement. As an Under-18 World Champion, she was crucial to keeping the centre of the park ticking along in Starblaydia's favour.

15. Gabriel Escerra, DM, 21 - FC Farça - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
4 Caps, 0 Goals (11 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
When there's a defensive midfielder in the Starblaydi setup who's as good as Viola Capodanno, there's very little room for any other holding players in the centre of the park. As the teenager who held the line all the way to Starblaydia's first trophy at any level for more than a century, however, he's a pretty good option to call on when those fresh legs and hard-hitting tackles need to be brought into the midfield.

16. Lucy Saraviva*, R/LM, 19 - Foxchester Raiders - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
4 Caps, 0 Goals (11 Caps, 7 Goals at youth level)
This versatile young winger shot into the hearts and minds of Starblaydi fans when she netted four goals in a 9-4 win over Sajnur in the Second Round of the 8th Sporting World Cup, ending up as top scorer with seven for the side who finished second to Banija and only just failed to become the first team to defend the Under-18 World Cup A natural alternate for either Krakowski or Yamaguchi, her introduction is bound to cause a stir.

21. Austin Dashwood, C/D/RM, 33 - Montepool Waves Image
57 Caps, 3 Goals (5 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
Versatile, dependable and playing with a smile on his face, Dashwood goes about his task on the pitch with a dogged determination that sees him cover the ground, win the ball, break up the play and re-distribute it to those around him. He's creative, a hard worker, and links up well with those around him. His relatively small size is likely his biggest weakness, but his enthusiasm totally makes up for it. His experience and nature make him a perfect fit for the otherwise young and inexperienced bench, and the opportunity to be a go-to player for a midfield substitution was not something he was going to pass up.

22. Giorgos Dimitriou, C/AM, 27 - FC St. Jakob (Siovanija and Teusland) Image
7 Caps, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
With his only senior international experiences coming at the 13th Olympic Games, Dimitriou represents a bit of a gamble for the manager, but wit h the development of a core side boosted by Under-18 World Cup Winners, there's still room for an extra midfielder with a fondness for going forward.

Forwards
9. Aaron Cole, SC, 32 - Corinthian Spirits Image
64 Caps, 38 Goals (7 Caps, 4 Goals at youth level)
Cole the bruiser, the playmaker, the string-puller in what every other nation might call the archetypal 'Number 10' position. In Starblaydi naming conventions, however, the number 10 is often the out-and-out goal hanger, with the number 9 hanging back either as the playmaker or huge target man. Cole is a player of the likes Starblaydia has not had in a long while, a lethal forward and devilish assist-provider, playing with cunnning intelligence that just makes the opposition furious.

10. Sutter McCloud, SC, 23 - Yeaddin Owls (Vilita) Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
36 Caps, 21 Goals (14 Caps, 18 Goals at youth level)
Sutter McCloud had already announced himself on the world stage with a hat-trick at the Olympics against Polynesia before scoring an incredible 12 goals in just seven games, at least once in every match, to become Under-18 World Champions, and now he's joined Zhorin Tumunzahar as the joint all-time top scorer for Starblaydi youth side with 18 goals in his career. McCloud is fast, strong and has a great left foot to strike from all distances and angles. The sky's the limit with this kid and he's already fully entrenched as the golden boy of Starblaydi football.

17. Mercy Kaufman*, SC, 29 - Beverington Hawks Image
38 Caps, 15 Goals (5 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Kaufman is a short, wiry speedster, possessing the thing that defenders fear more than anything else: pace. A fiery personality, too, keeps rearing its ugly head, leading to a questionable disciplinary record that she really should have curbed by now.

18. Alan Eccleston, SC, 24 - Tuncastle Rovers Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
19 Caps, 3 Goals (14 Caps, 3 Goals at youth level)
Some strikers don't need to score hatfuls of goals, because they cause so much disruption and create chances and open up opportunities for others to score, and Eccleston is one of those. Not through trickery or guile, but through sheer presence and physical bloody-mindedness, he draws players and often requires two markers, shrugging off weak challenges as he does. A smashmouth style means he commits fouls almost as often as he draws them, however.

23. Carmine Velasquez, SC, 19 - Corinthian Spirits Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
4 Caps, 0 Goals (10 Caps, 6 Goals at youth level)
Young and with great pace, Velasquez may well be named after a Vilitan legend but he's all Starblaydi. Although short and wiry he's got a low centre of gravity and the quick feet to skip away from almost any challenge, and is willing to shoot from almost any angle or distance. His conversion rate isn't all that good, but just when the fans are thinking that their striker should have a pop at goal, he's the one who'll be stepping up to odo it.

ediraf once again innovated beyond all competitors with the Generation Five series of football kits, with this version first debuted at the 82nd World Cup Finals.

Generation Five-B blends a number of Starblaydia's iconic kits from across more than a quarter of a millennium, including the return of side panels and a number on the front, while mixing in new design elements such as the subtle stripes of the away kit. Both proudly sport the five gold stars - representing their record-setting five World Championships at senior level - above the Starblaydi Football Association logo. Starblaydi players will also all be wearing rainbow laces, as a symbol of diversity and inclusion.

Briagntii World Cup 83 Squad(s)

RP Permissions: My opponent may choose my goal scorers, hand out cards and injuries. Please pick which Brigantii side you wish to play against from the options available. Godmod events are fine for the surreal versions of Brigantii but I'd prefer no Godmod events for Brigantii 5214 if it's all the same.

The "event" caused a fracture in time, shattering Brigantii into a myriad of possibilities and eventualities. Since World Cup 78 the Stags had not featured during qualifying and had slid to the not so illustrious position of unranked. The event in all cases differed, as did the result. Now at World Cup 83 Brigantii, in the multitude of timelines available make a return to the world stage with each version submitting a team to compete.

Brigantii 7741: The All Powerful Matriarchy of Brigantii

Following Cup of Harmony 70 a movement rumbled through Brigantii, historically the nation had been male dominated, with the top positions held by men, the wealthiest people in Brigantii were men, law makers and law breakers, men. Athletes, actors, politicians and CEOs were at the top of the hierarchy, but not any more. Following the election of Jordana Lichaj to Prime Minister a sweeping change took place and women rose to power….. And kept rising. Equality was no longer the goal, but total and utter control.

Brigantii 7741
The women of Brigantii 7741 are all named after ancient goddesses, or great women from mythology to further empower them. The only name permitted for men in Brigantii is Bob.

Coach: Athena Nixon

Goalkeeper: Bastet Jackson
Right Back: Sif Williams
Centre Back: Venus Murphy
Centre Back: Minerva Gruffud
Left Back: Lakshmi Walker
Right Wing: Xochiquetzal Smith
Centre Mid: Hathor Farmer
Centre Mid: Amaterasu Jones
Left Wing: Artemis Brown
Striker: Brighid O'Toole
Striker: Cerridwen Evans

The coach operates a standard 4-4-2 and has drilled her team to press and harry the opposition, never letting them settle on the ball. Star player Cerridwen Evans has pace to burn and is a constant goal threat - as is Minerva, the six foot defender who joins the fray for set pieces. No longer the Stags, the Brigantii national team’s nickname is now The Mantises and they play their home games at the 95,000 seater Sapphire Stadium.

Brigantii 8888: The Automaton Nation of Brigantii

Following Cup of Harmony 70 Brigantii pushed forward with their research in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. It started with replacing supermarket staff and self driving vehicles.. And became nightmarish as Asimov's Laws of Robotics went out of the window. Brigantii is now 100% automated.. Including the football team.

Goalkeeper: 001
Right Back: 002
Centre Back: 003
Centre Back: 004
Left Back: 005
Right Wing: 006
Centre Mid: 007
Centre Mid: 008
Left Wing: 009
Striker: 010
Striker: 011

The AI side play a generic 4-4-2. All the players know their position and do not deviate, there is no coach as they have been pre-programmed to know their role and do not require managing.Traveling fans are permitted but may not want to visit Brigantii in its current state - a totalitarian robotic dictatorship with few humans left, those that are left now live underground. If you do travel to Brigantii try not to upset the ruling class who will not hesitate to eliminate anybody who does not adhere to their laws.

Brigantii 4313: The Cursed Kingdom of Brigantii

Following Cup of Harmony 70 a strange spell befell the nation. In a time of science and secularism it's hard to believe in magic but illusionist Colin Copperstone was adamant it was real. All the books claimed magic was just hocus pocus and voodoo had been debunked, except one. The Big Black Book of Practical Magic. Reading aloud the incantation the illusionist transformed the people of Brigantii into soft, fuzzy, puppet like creatures.

Coach: Sam Eagle

Goalkeeper: Cookie Monster
Right Back: Rizzo
Centre Back: Count von Count
Centre Back: Sweetums
Left Back: Gonzo
Right Wing: Bunsen Honeydew
Centre Mid: Red Fraggle
Centre Mid: Rowlf
Left Wing: Grover
Striker: Pepe
Striker: Floyd

Sam Eagle is a strict tactician and has his team organised as best he can. They're a little wacky and struggle to stay focused. Watch out for Pepe, he's a firecracker. Brigantii in its current state is disorganized, chaotic but super friendly. You can learn your ABC's, sing about your feelings and fall in love with an overbearing pig. There's no crime, no hardship, nothing negative other than the fact the people are all puppets..

Brigantii 1010: The Ravaged Lands of Brigantii

Following Cup of Harmony 70 Brigantii was beset by adverse weather and, what some had termed "acts of God". Huge storms, tidal waves, earthquakes, hurricanes, the country was torn to shreds by a clusterf*ck of nature. The team contains a number of hardened survivors from what remains of the country.

Coach: Delroy Sams

Goalkeeper: Ainslee Bernard
Right Back: Lissa Steed
Centre Back: Stone Milton
Centre Back: Rae Brand
Left Back: Jed Sharman
Right Wing: Lexa Pettigrew
Centre Mid: Jameson Elvis
Centre Mid: Chelsea Low
Left Wing: Duke Garrod
Striker: Kent Jackman
Striker: Eli Beverley

The team are held together by survivor Delroy Sams. Sams has lived through it all, tornadoes, forest fires, landslides. There may have been a volcano.. They play a gutsy 4-4-2 with a never say die attitude. The team play their home games at a makeshift stadium that holds roughly six thousand spectators. There’s now only one international airport in Brigantii and food is scarce, so, visiting fans are advised… not to visit basically.

Brigantii 5214: Brigantii

Following Cup of Harmony 70 Brigantii withdrew from international football. The Brigantii Against Freaks movement once again reared its ugly head, taking control of the FA and refusing to allow Brigantii's men's team to play against non-human males. Some twenty or so years on, that has been reversed and Brigantii return to the realm of international football.

Coach: Orson Harden

Goalkeeper: Hank Stone
Right Back: Woody Grenville
Centre Back: Denver Archer
Centre Back: Kenton Close
Left Back: Leland Edwards
Right Wing: Deon Sparks
Centre Mid: Phillip Rowe
Centre Mid: Ian Neville
Left Wing: Devyn Thompsett
Striker: Lane Chambers
Striker: Russ Bell

The team sticks to a traditional 4-4-2, with the midfield creating a diamond and a big man/little man combination up front, Bell being the big to Chambers little. Deon Sparks is the star player of this Brigantii side with the winger, captain, penalty taker, freekick maestro, corner man. The Rookscroft United player is set to be become the most expensive Brigantii player in history with a transfer to Cusco side Real Minanda for £57,000,000. The team most closely resembles Brigantii Prime - the prime timeline - maintaining a Premier League and international footballing presence. The team remain the Stags and play at the Warbury Stadium.

For 7 tournaments, our Qasden Vans have been playing as the undercats at some point during qualification. Every cycle, we were simply someone else's minor speed-bump en route to automatic advancement into the proper. But now, with the arrival of World Cup 83, after countless years of turmoil and managerial panic, the Blue-Reds have finally become who they always feared, a titan.

In our previous attempt for glory, the Vans, managed by the mythical David Bjarnasson, not only dominated enough to qualify for the proper, but defied all expectations and reached the Round of 16 for the first time in association history! This euphoric run was capped, however, with an embarrassingly acceptable defeat to the platypi of Apox. Nevertheless, it was a summit never achieved by Merritt nor Cralt-Nirlo, giving Qads all the more reason to lobby in support rather than ditch after another botched AOCAF. As for the task on hand, the Qads have been drawn into Group U, a setup featuring old and new foes alike, all competing for ascension, be it in the form of auto-qualification or progression into a 2nd group stage. Will this format suit the Qads' fancy? Could Bjarnasson further prove himself to be the Mercedinian god he is? How will the people of Drawkland deal with the tournament after a fatally demolished bid? All these subpar questions and more are waiting to be answered in the most Glorious cycle yet (if you catch my drift), World Cup 83: Reconciliation, hosted by Banija and Equestria!
