This is the cutoff for day 8 RPs. RPs past this point will not count towards the day 9 RP bonus.

FBC Sports Broadcast
Night, day 8

“We are now halfway through the Games, with a good amount of medals being awarded. Nine golds were awarded today alone.” said Lansink.

Luiken replied “The first event is the women’s three meter springboard. In the semifinals, the Furbish team flopped, no pun intended.”

“Theroux is the only diver who qualified. She ended in fourth place, but was far behind the third place diver. Ardon did not qualify, but was only three points the twelfth place diver.” Theroux’s five dives were shown. She tried doing some difficult ones, impressing the judges a little, but she was not without some flaws. Ardon played it safe with simpler dives. Unfortunately, she did not do them very well, earning less points than most other divers. The table of all divers was shown, and a line separating the top twelve who were advancing from the six who were not.

“Theroux did better in the finals, but so did her competitors. She pulled off even more impressive dives, doing them well, but her score was not enough to get into the top three.” Theroux’s five dives in the finals were shown, followed by scores from the judges. After her dives, a table of all divers appeared on screen, and the top three were highlighted.

“The men’s hundred meter breaststroke went better for Furby Island. Brun got in first place, nearly a tenth of a second behind the two second place swimmers. There was a tie for second place for two events today, but the second will be covered later.” The beginning of the race was shown. The swimmers were at their blocks, and when the pistol fired, they jumped and began swimming. Brun was behind slightly. The view changed to the end, where Brun was already ahead. The swimmers looked like they finished close to each other. The markers on the lane showed Brun was in first, and there was a tie for second. It was replayed in slow motion, and a table of the results followed that.

“Jacobs got a worse place in the women’s final, over a half a second faster than the third place swimmer.” The end of that race was shown. It was extremely close, but Jacobs did not get third place in the race.

“The women’s water polo team had their bye today. At this point, no matter how the next match goes in two days, they will be advancing to the semifinals.” The group A table was shown.

“Moving on to athletics, the hundred meter sprint did not go as well for Furby Island.”

“The best runner of the team is Asselin, he ran with Medellin and Backman in the second heat, and the three of them got fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively.” Eight runners of the second heat were shown, lined up at the starting line. They took off with the sound of the pistol. They stayed together in the first few meters. Asselin soon got ahead of the group, though not far from the rest. Near the end of the race, other runners got ahead of him. All eight crossed the finish line within three fifths of a second. The lanes were all marked with the times and places of the athletes. The last five meters were replayed in slow motion, followed by a table of the results in the second heat, then the table of all the sprinters.

“The team did better in the semifinals. Three of the four who qualified for the semifinals will move on to the finals, and the three of then happen to all race in the second semifinal.” The screen changed to a view of the eight runners standing at the four hundred meter starting lines. They took off with the sound of the pistol. Due to the curves of the track and the staggered position of the starting lines, it was difficult to tell who was winning until the last straightaway. Antonucci, who was in the outermost lane looked to be behind a lot of the runners. The view on screen changed to the last hundred meters, where Antonucci was now ahead. All eight runners sprinted hard on the straightaway, then crosssed the finish line within seconds of each other. The last few meters were replayed. A table of results for this race was shown, with sprinters advancing to the finals highlighted. A table of all results was shown.

“The men’s field event finals did not go as well. Rist got in fourth place, only twenty centimeters from the third place long jumper, and twenty-two from first. Kirkpatrick got a centimeter less.” All six jumps from both long jumpers were shown. Some of them were fouls. After the jumps, the long jump pit was shown with lines marking how well each athlete did. They were colored by nationality, and the top three were highlighted. A table of results was shown.

“The discus throw also did not go well. Shoop, the best thrower, got in fifth place, nearly forty centimeters away from the third place thrower.” The throws were shown, followed by the graphic of how each thrower did, then the table of results.

“In the pole vault preliminary round, the Furbish team also did well, with three qualifying athletes. Bruckner and Kittle made the qualifying mark of 5.75 meters, while Deblois made it in the top ten.” Some of their jumps were shown, including Bruckner nearly missing the previous mark at 5.65 meters, but making it after his third jump. After the jumps, a graphic was shown, with two poles on each side, then colored lines around heights were the bar goes, showing how high each athlete jumped. They were colored by nationality. Ones around the top height, 5.75 meters, were brightly highlighted, and ones at the next height, 5.65 meters, were highlighted but not as bright. These were all the athletes who will go on to the finals.

“In the women’s hundred meter sprint, two Furbish sprinters qualified to go to the finals. Chillemi got first in semifinal two, and second overall, while Grizzell got second in semifinal one and fourth overall.” The first race was shown. The eight runners stood at their blocks, then took off with the sound of the starter’s pistol. A few got ahead and behind here and there, but at the end of the race, they finished at what looked like the same time. The replay was shown, then the table with the times. The runners finished only a fifth of a second apart. The second semifinal was not as close. Just like the first, the runners finished at what looked like the same time, then the slow motion replay was shown. Chillemi got first, nearly half a second behind the seventh place runner, also from Furby Island. One runner did not finish the race.

“The final race was even closer, with the first and seventh place being under a fifth of a second apart, and eighth place finishing later by 0.9 seconds. In the end, Chillemi won the race.” The runners were shown at the beginning on their blocks, then they took off. Chillemi stayed behind the group at first, slowly catching up. In the end, they again looked like they crossed the finish like simultaneously. While this was not the case, Chillemi was only 0.03 seconds ahead of the second place sprinter. The medal ceremony for the event was shown. Chillemi took the gold medal, then stood at the center of the podium while the Furbish flag was raised, to the Furbish national anthem.

“Two Furbish sprinters will advance to the semifinals in the four hundred meter sprint, Winnie and Cruce, who got first in the second and third heats, and third and sixth place overall, respectively.” The end of the second heat race was shown. The runners looked near each other, then halfway through the straightaway Winnie was ahead. She crossed the finish line first, followed by various other sprinters, and ending with two more athletes from Furby Island who were behind. The table of results from the heat was shown. The end of the heat three race was shown. This race was closer, and the first two sprinters finished only 0.7 seconds. The last few meters were replayed in slow motion. The results from the heat were shown on a table, followed by results from all heats.

“In the next event, the women’s steeplechase Furby Island did extremely well. Four of the five Furbish runners in this event qualified, and only one did not finish.” From the first heat, some of the jumps were shown. In the first barrier and water jump, a large amount of athletes were jumping over each one at the same time, but the concentration of runners began evening out. At the finish line, there were not many close times. After the second Furbish runner in the heat finished, the replay stopped, and showed the table with the results. The next race was shown, also including some of the barriers and water jumps, before going to the finish line. Once again, it stopped after all Furbish athletes finished the race. On both heats, a minute and a few seconds separated the first and last placing runners. The table for this heat was shown, then the results for the race.

“Two Furbish athletes, Bones and Lancaster, qualified for the triple jump.” All of their jumps were shown, followed by the graphic of results from all jumpers, then the table with results and of who will advance to the finals.

“The final athletics event is the heptathlon, which today is in its second day. Borg is doing well once again, being second for the long jump.” Borg’s three jumps were shown, then the graphic with jumps from all athletes.

“She got second in the javelin throw as well.” Borg’s three javelin throws were shown. Her throws were shown, followed by the results of the other throws, then the table.

“The final event is the eight hundred meter run. Borg did not do well in this event, finishing in ninth place, though she was behind the first place runner by about eight and a half seconds.” Parts of her run were shown, including the start and end. She was doing well at the beginning, then started slowing down near the end, which seemed to reflect her performance in both days of the heptathlon. The table of the results for her heat were shown, followed by the overall for the eight hundred meter run, then the total points each athlete earned in the heptathlon.

“Borg tied in second place in the heptathlon overall.” Her receiving her silver medal was shown, then her standing on the podium alongside a Gagiumish athlete.

“Plenty of news from athletics, but there are still more events. In women’s basketball and men’s football, the semifinals took place today.”

“The Furbish team defeated West Phoenicia in basketball 67-71. It was an extremely close game.”

“West Phoenicia was leading throughout much of the game, but the Furbish team managed to catch up.” Several shots were shown by both sides, as well as blocks. The winning shots were shown at the end, and the Furbish team celebrating the victory.

“We will play against San Carlos Islands in the gold medal round for women’s basketball, and by coincidence, the same is true for the next sport.”

“The Furbish team defeated Aeternitatia in the men’s football semifinals, one to nothing. The single goal was scored not long after the beginning of the second half, and the rest of the time the score did not change.” Highlights of the game were shown, including the single goal.

“The final two medal events today are the men’s and women’s coxless pair finals.”

“The men’s teams did not win gold, but they won silver and bronze medals. That race was also extremely close, with the top three rowers getting within three fifths of a second of each other, and fourth place came only a second after the third place rowers.” The end of this race was shown. It was unclear which of the first three finished first, but the fourth place came after them. The screen did not wait for the last two and switched to a slow motion replay, followed by a table of results from finals A and B.

“It seems strange that the top team in the B finals came before the gold medalist in this event. And the final medal event for today is the women’s coxless pair. Unfortunately, the single Furbish team in the A finals did not do well, ending in fifth place.” A replay of the end was shown.

“The team in the B finals did do well, however.” The tables from the A and B finals were shown.

“The final medal events for today are volleyball, indoor and beach.”

“In group A, both Furbish teams played against each other, and Sonnenberg and Carnahan won two sets in a row, both seventeen to twenty-one.” Highlights from the match were shown, then the group A table.

“Their spot in the quarterfinals is guaranteed, no matter how the next match goes. Lisk and Reiman, however, will not go to the quarterfinals. The team has lost three of the four games they played.”

“In group C, Clapper and Strecker lost a match against a New Waldensian team, pushing them to fourth place in the groups.” Some highlights of that game were shown. The Furbish team was not doing well throughout the whole game, and a loss seemed inevitable from the beginning. The group C table was then shown.

“They will not advance to the quarterfinals. However, Sweetman and Barnhardt, who had their bye today, will more likely make it to the quarterfinals, depending on how the next match goes.”

“The last event is women’s indoor volleyball. The team won against Novo Abrahamia, and now sits in first place in group A.” Highlights from the match were shown, followed by the group A standings.

“That is it for the medal events, but there has been some strange news from Noorderstein.”

“A group of citizens, numbering in the hundreds, gathered in Noorderstein and were praising a goddess they call ‘Margaret’, who they claim is behind the results of the Games, and is the reason why underdogs often seem to outperform in events.”

“They have been sacrificing rubber chickens to her, of all things.”

The reporters told about the story some more, before closing off the broadcast. When they stopped filming, the exchanged confused looks about the recent story with each other, then with other people in the studio.

Day 9 Aeternitatia

"The Aeternitatian Olympic director, Douglas K. Petkovic, wakes up cold and hung-over after a 2 hour nap. He finds himself laying in a tub of water whilst fully clothed, and realizes what time it is. It is 10:00am, and he has been partying all night. The man freaks out! He tries to jump out of the tub, managing only to bang his head against the ceiling then slipping and hitting the floor. He carries himself painfully to his room to grab a new tie and his shoes, forgetting entirely to dry off. Five minutes later he rushes out the door, greeted by his impatient Boston driver. 'Excuse me sir, but could you kindly tell me why I've been waiting outside your apartment for 90 minutes? And why are your clothes wet?' asks the driver, clearly irritated. Mr. Petkovic, still groggy from having just woke up, simply grunts. He proceeds to roll up the window between him and the driver, preventing any further conversation.

The car pulls up to the Olympic Practice Stadium. Mr. Petkovic stumbles out onto the sidewalk, and the car storms off leaving tire marks on the pavement. Mr. Petkovic proceeds into the building and makes his way to the press conference. His clothes are now a little less damp, however; he has not sobered up quite yet. As he stumbles into the press box, cameras start flashing and reporters begin shouting thousands of questions. 'Why are you so late?' 'What happened?' 'Did you get robbed?' 'Why are your clothes wet?' Mr. Petkovic simply lets out a loud belch and blacks out on the floor. The press storms the booth, flashing pictures as quick as they can, and flocking over his body like a pack of vultures.

The next day his passed out face is pictured on the front of every newspaper in Noorderstein.Mr Petkovic wakes up the next day in a hospital bed after having his stomach pumped out. After a long discussion with his lawyers, he will not be visiting any more Olympic events for the duration of the season.

Day 9, Noorderstein Olympic Games
Noorderstein Olympic Studio

"Good evening, this is Philip Morrison once again, here at the Olympic Studio in Noorderstein. This was an eventful day, complete with New Waldensia grabbing another gold medal. Here to go over the news with me is my colleague Andre Labri. Let's go over the track and field events first."

"It absolutely was a packed, eventful day in track and field. We had qualifiers and finals in a variety of events. New Waldensia came away with gold in the men's 400m race, with Nathan Hart winning by 3/10ths of a second. In the men's 100m, Stefan Jankovic of San Carlos Islands took gold with a time of 9.78; New Waldensia's sole finalist Ronnie Baller came in seventh with s time of 9.95."

Morrison: "Things look promising in men's high jump though, right?"

"Definitely. Of the eight athletes moving on to tomorrow's medal round, New Waldensians placed first, fourth, and sixth. There's a very real shot at getting multiple medals there. Same goes for the women's 400m, where we placed third, fifth and eighth."

Morrison: "The second medal of the day came in women's triple jump, where Shawna Roberson snatched the bronze. Stephanie Evans sprained her ankle and did not finish the event."

Labri: "In the demonstration events, the New Waldensian women's softball team came away with a third-place finish.

Morrison: "Let's talk about beach volleyball and basketball. We have teams advancing to the semifinals in each. The basketball team will be playing West Phoenicia in the semis in three days."

"They'll definitely have their hands full. West Phoenicia bested them in the first game of matches."

"Beach volleyball. Both Waldensian teams are going to the semifinals in two days. Tell us about that."

Labri: "Harry Gibson and Jack Glassner went 4-1 in the prelims and dominated in several games. They've got the third-best point differential. However, they're matched up against the undefeated Furbish team of Isaac Stgermain and William Mohamed. Oskar Furseth and Travis Hunter squeezed in and will play against a good West Phoenician team. Those will both be good games to watch."

Morrison: "We've got 100m Butterfly finals tomorrow. Tell us about the Waldensians in them."

"Derek Cobb came in third in men's semis and Ian Griffith seventh. Griffith is in the hunt for his second medal of the games, aiming to become the first Waldensian with multiple medals. Paula Gonzalez came in seventh in the women's, and coaches hope she can make waves in the pool to bring home some hardware."

Morrison: "As we sign off, here's a look at the medal events tomorrow. Men's 3m springboard - 2 Waldensians. Men's 100m butterfly - two Waldensians. Women's 100m butterfly - we've got one there. Men's pole vault - three chances there. Women's 400m sprint - three Waldensians in the finals. Same in the Women's 3000m steeplechase. Two in women's hammer throw. And then in single sculls, three Waldensians in the men's and one in women's. You can watch it all here tomorrow. On behalf of the WBS-TV team, thanks for watching."

Noorderstein, Furby Island
Night; Day 9

On day 9 of the Summer Olympics the intro that the daily San Carlos TV (SCTV) sports broadcast, covering all the insides and outs of the San Carlos Islands National Olympic team introduced yesterday was shown again today. A video montage of all the highlights of the day quickly flashed cross the screen and then faded into a cut of the SCTV logo overshadowing the city of Noorderstein. As that disappeared cameras overlooking a platform with a large desk on top of it where nightly hosts Foster Hayley and Kennedy Hayward where sitting as well as Women's swimming Olympian Anastazija Kuznetsova, Women's athletics Olympian Colleen Jones, and Men's athletics Olympian Mark Van Arendonk for the night's special, a quick interview with interview with them.

Foster opened the show; "Hello and a good late afternoon to everyone watching tonight's broadcast of SCTV Sports Olympic Recap where we're we talk about the good, the bad, and of course the ugly of these Summer Olympics in Noorderstein, Furby Island, coverage in Russian can be found on CKT. I'm Foster Hayley. - Tonight we will be hearing from Olympians Anastazija Kuznetsova, Colleen Jones, and Mark Van Arendonk about their experiences so far of these Summer Olympics. Welcome lads, thanks for being on the show!"

The camera turned to the three athletes who were sitting between Foster and Kennedy. They all smiled, and waved at the camera until Kennedy decided to interject and ask the first question.

"So Mark, just a few days ago you were just a nineteen year old from a little town in Victoria who went to the Olympic qualifier in that state, was told you just barely didn't make the cut but would become an alternate, came here to Nooserstein after someone dropped, not expecting to even advance to any semifinals. Now you're a silver medal winning Olympian, how do you feel?"

The focus was now on Mark. "Well Kennedy, you're exactly correct. I'm here on a fluke to compete against athletic giants, I didn't expect to do well but apparently God had better plans for me, you know. Advancing to the semifinals in the Men's 100m Sprint was a huge thing for me, advancing further to the finals was even much bigger than that, and to walk away from that on behalf of all San Carlos Islands with a Silver medal was quite bizarre."

The camera turned back to Kennedy who was smiling and nodding. "What do you have to say to the people back home who are walking in the same shoes you where before you even got here to the Olympics?"

Mark stared into the camera and hand that stereotypical "inspirational tone" in his voice as he spoke. "Well guys; my story, my life the past few days just goes to show that you can never give up, you can never surrender. Always try your best and your hardest. If life gives you a spot in the Olympics, make lemonade or something."

After Kennedy thanked Mark, Foster moved on by interviewing Colleen. "So Colleen, you'll be advancing to the Women's Hammer throw finals tomorrow. How have you been preparing for that, and how do you think you will fare?"

She smiled as the camera turned to her. "Well Foster, to do well in the Hammer throw, it takes a lot. Strength, persistence, and perseverance to name a few, but a lot of other factors go into it. I've been working hard with my coaches to improve my form as well as was to increase my exit velocity so I can do even better than I did in the preliminary round. I know this 73.16, that was the best performance in the preliminary round. 68.09, that was my best performance. Thus, if I can add merely 5 feet to my hammer throw, I have a serious chance at taking home a medal in the event. I've done it before, I can do it again!"

Foster continued. "So not only will you participate in the hammer throw finals you still have the 100m Hurdles, Women's 4x100m relay, and the Women's 4x400m to look forwards to. How do you think you will do in those events?"

"I think I will do well. It just takes the determination my new friend Mark was talking about a while ago. For the hurdles, I'm prepared. I've been doing that event since secondary school, through my University career, and now as an Olympian. I was born to do that. As for the relays, I'm on a really great team. Matilda, Eleonora, and of course Nevena who's now a gold medal winning Olympian. I think we will very well win a medal, maybe gold in at least one of the relay races."

After she finished, Kennedy interviewed Anastazija. "So Anastazija, welcome back to SCTV Sports for the third time over the Olympics. We really appreciate that. You're now advancing to the finals in yet another event, the Women's 100m Butterfly. Will you be able to pull of another medal winning performance?"

Anastazija nodded and answered the question in her Russian accent. "Yes Kennedy, I think I can. I just need to continue doing what I've been doing and maybe improve my time a few miliseconds. I'm in this to win this just like I was during the Breastroke, and there I won a gold medal. That's about it."

Kennedy smiled. "Well, thanks for coming again." Foster interjected. "Yes, thank you, and thank everyone for being here in the studio tonight, we realize you are all very busy individuals and that your time is valuable."

The camera turned to the three of them and they waved the broadcast off as the SCTV Sports theme played and the program faded to a commercial break.

-

After the break the focus quickly turned to Foster and Kennedy as the SCTV Sports theme played in the background.

First Foster said "Welcome back to SCTV Sports, if you're tuning in you missed our interview with Commonwealth Olympians Anastazija Kuznetsova, Colleen Jones, and Mark Van Arendonk, highlights of that can be found on the SCTV Youtube channel. But next, a recap of day eight of the Summer Olympics highlights."

A preview of the medal count flashed over the screen as Foster continued.

"Our first major news of the night is that the San Carlos Islands will in fact hold onto it's spot at the top of the medal count for the second day in the row. Today Stefan Jankovic won the Gold in the Men's 100m Sprint by 12 miliseconds, propelling the Commonwealth to 10 gold medals, making us the first nation to enter the double digits of Gold medals. More on Mr. Jankovic and the Men's 100m Sprint, next."

After a short pause footage of the Men's 100m Sprint finals played behind Foster as he looked at the camera. "So the Men's 100m Sprint. This was a spectacular win today for the Commonwealth here in Noorderstein. Two athletes from the Islands who basically came from nothing. They weren't expected to have the best showings, but certainly not the worst; propelled to greatness by placing in today's finals. Those athletes are of course gold medalist Stefan Jankovic who lead Mark Van Arendonk, the guy who was just on the program earlier, by 12 miliseconds. Stefan was at the last Olympics, but didn't make it past the semifinals, Mark on the other hand is at these Olympics, his first appearance, as an alternate. You know they both are shocked right now."

Kennedy interjected. "Indeed Foster. What an inspirational story there for the both of them, a lot of people across the Commonwealth are very, very proud of them and we wish them luck again as Athletic events continue in full swing."

Kennedy continued as Women's 100m Butterfly footage plated behind her. "These may of been our only medal winners of the day, but that doesn't mean there weren't other San Carlos Islanders who didn't score a win today. Women's swimmer Anastazija Kuznetsova who was also just on the program will be advancing to the Women's 100m Butterfly finals. She placed third in the semifinals, but seems confident that she can do better come finals."

Foster went on as the footage being shown changed to the Men's 100m Butterfly. "And in the Men's 100m Butterfly we had two islanders actually advance; Elliott Blakeslee and Merle Brooke, they two will have to duke it out in the 100m Butterfly finals, and hopefully also pull of a medal winning showing."

The footage changed to Men's Basketball as Foster continued. "Next, Men's Basketball. The San Carlos Islands will advance to semifinals after blowing away the other teams in the event. Out of both Men's Basketball groupings, that is Group A and Group B, the San Carlos Islands is the only undefeated team with 4 wins. They will play Gagium in the Semifinals whom they beat 86 to 73 in matchday three and have scored 42 more points than overall."

Kennedy continued. "We wish them all luck. Go Team SCI. - Finally, some rather disappointing news. The Women's Football team will not advance to semifinals after today's 0 to 2 loss to the Furby Islands. Furthermore out of the Men's Beach volleyball team that was once on fire at the start of the matchdays, none will qualify for the semifinals. A lot of broken hearts there."

The camera turned to Foster to finish the program out. Well folks, despite that disheartening news, it's fair to say that there has been more good news than bad, and more to look forward to in the future. This team has done really well, and that's an understatement, they're in first place when you look at the medal count. They just need to persevere, try hard, and win. Go Team SCI. - I'm Foster Hayley, and that's been your Olympic news. Go Team SCI."

"And like always I'm Kennedy Hayward. thanks for tuning into this special broadcast of SCTV Sports. Good night and godspeed to the San Carlos Olympic Team from SCTV, providing English broadcasting to the Commonwealth for nearly 40 years."

Women's 1500m Run
Noorderstein, Furbish Islands

Stephanie Molina was out of breath. She had just completed the 1,500 meter race, which completely consumed her energy and left her standing at the finish line, looking at the hardly-packed crowds assembled in the stands. The race was close; she felt like she came at nearly the same time as Ina Venalainen from Aeternitatia and Lisa Italia from West Phoenicia, though maybe in between. And she was right; It was shown that she came in second behind Ina and ahead of Lisa. In between breaths, Stephanie looked st the crowd again, then back at the track field. The sky was so clear up here in Noorderstein, she thought, and yet the area was flooded with thousands of spectators for the dozens of events at these Olympics.

Stephanie noticed Catarina Costa, the other finalist from Gagium in the event, though Stephanie recalled that she got last. She walked over to Catarina and gave her a hug. “4:07, that’s great. A few less seconds and next Olympics we can do it.”

Catarina looked at her and exhaled. “Definitely not my best. My stomach, god.” Stephanie smiled. “I suppose the race is over, though. Another week and we’ll all be out of here. Hard to believe that this goes by so fast.” Catarina weakly smiles back and nodded in agreement before walking away to get a refreshment and go.

Stephanie and the other medalists were quickly guided to the podium outside, where she would have her minute or so of fame and recognition before the crowd before heading back to the Olympic village. She would later in the afternoon retreat to the club in the predominately Gagiumish-occupied tower block, where several other athletes were getting drinks and having a good time.

She looked at the server and ordered a wine before sitting down with some of her athletic teammates. Roxane Bombelles, the sole Gagiumish athlete in the Women's 5000m, was holding a beer and telling the others assembled at the table about that time she almost broke into a St. Louis military installation. Stephanie looked at her to try to catch what Roxane was saying.p in between swigs.

“So, I was just walking on the streets in the suburbs after hitting the bar...yes, and I walked past this fence with signs posted every few feet that contained the flag. And I love the flag, and I wanted to know how and where to enter. So I kept on walking until I found a gate, and there was this guy standing outside. And he said, ‘Hey, girl. Can you help me get in here? According to google maps, I’m supposed to meet my drug dealer in there.’. And he pointed to the gate.”

“So, I was like, sure, okay. Then we walked a bit, the guy had bolt cutters so we cut our way into the fence and walked through...that’s why we were met by a few guys in military uniforms. And then I thought to myself, ‘Oh, shit’, and the guy...the guy tried to use his bolt cutters to attack them. Ended up dying of three gunshot wounds, the poor fellow.”

“But then again- Oh, hey Steph, how’re you doing?”

Stephanie blinked and smiled. “Hey! I’m not trying to flex, but just ran the 1,500 meter and got a silver...”

Roxane sighed. “And I’ll be getting a gold! Haha, just wait until you see.”

After awhile of more casual chat, Stephanie prepared to leave, when something caught her eye. She blinked twice and then cursed herself for not noticing or participating. At one of the far tables were a congregation of Gagiumish athletes crowded around a Nintendo switch. Interesting, she thought. She made a note to come back to the club tomorrow at around the same time.

WIP still, maybe.

The West Phoenician gold drought seems to have struck gold today with two of the five medals won by West Phoenicia being gold.

The first gold happened before lunch when Franky Philo took out the gold in women's Triple Jump. This was a very big deal for the nation as she becomes the first woman to obtain gold in this event. When Franky first started out on the international circuit she earned her first bronze at the
NS Athletics Championships in Krytenia, since than she has struggled in the last two Summer Olympic Games, even placing 16th at the Summer Olympic Games in The Free Republics, however there were alot more athletes entered, so her talent was missed.
However at the First Federation of Conservative Nations Olympiad it has been a whole different story. In the preliminaries she ranked first place with a jump of 14.93, a decent jump thst put her ahead of the back. She knew she would need to do better in the finals and being the only West Phoenician woman to progress she knew she was going to have to excel.

" Preliminary is all about qualification. You wanna do a top notch jump to qualifiy but you don't want to show your opponents your whole bag of tricks. I was up against Furby Islands, San Carlos Island and New Waldensia all good nations who had sent their best. But you have to keep telling yourself you are better. Judi Bones had also hidden her capabilities as suddenly she was pulling in 15. She really wanted the win, but I was not going to settle for silver. My second attempt was my best, scoring 15.34. I used up all my reserves for that, and it was lucky I did, with no reserves left the rest of my attempts felt like a fish flopping around on land. I want to thank all my competitors for really challenging me today, they had my heart racing the whole event as with Triple Jump you never know until the last athlete performs.i had to wait four attempts with my heart in my chest. Not only did I pick up gold for the Confederate Empire of West Phoenicia, but my coach just told me I am the first West Phoenician to bring home a medal in this event at an Olympic level. I will be partying tonight."

Remember these names;

Coxswain: Garry Pullson
Marc Roberts
Ceasar Rodriguez
Manny Ramirez
Kyle Durban
Allen Smith
Trevor Goldford
Cam Davidson
Adam East

These are the men of the Coxed Eights who just pulled in a gold medal for the nation...again. yes not only did they win today at the First Federation of Conservative Nations Olympiad they so pulled in a gold medal at the Summer Olympic Games in The Free Republics, making them back to back champions.

The men's team clocked up an impressive time of 5:28.87, to take out the gold in front of a bank of fans cheering them on.
The race for silver and bronze was a tighter race with Aeternitatia and Furby Islands going at it, with both coxswain yelling at their team to push it just the little more. There was only .53 milliseconds between them, a sign that both nations should hold their heads up high.

"It was always going to be our event to win. Water is in all West Phoenician blood. We were the gold medalists at the previous Olympic Games so it was going to be a hard slog for other nations to take that title from us. Better luck next games." Rower Marc Roberts said in a post interview with West Phoenicia.

The women's team also made West Phoenicia proud today pulling in a silver losing out by a mere two seconds to Aeternitatia, which in the Men's event was a role reversal. The silver medal win still showing the World and West Phoenicians we are strong in Rowing. The two wins will definitely give the West Phoenician Rowing Association room to negotiate increased funding for the sport that has been performing exceedingly well at Olympic and Internation championships.

In other rowing news the men's and women's Single scull medal events will also be held on Day 10. And West Phoenicia has a great chance to pull medals in both of these events. In the men's Edward Law and Captain Derreck Kentley will be competiting.
Captain Derreck Kentley has the better time of the two, and has two silver medals from previous Olympic Games where he competed in the Rowing-Men's Lightweight Double Sculls alongside his brother Lieutenant Colin Kentley.
Edward Law is more skilled in single Sculls where he has been part of the West Phoenician Olympic Delegation, however he has yet to win a medal, highest placing being in the quarterfinals. Edward Law will have alot to prove tonight as he goes into the finals. A medal is going to be needed if he stands a chance to return for future Olympic events.

Over in the Women's Single Scull finals we have Whitey Tea Awe and Alice Mohican. Two champion West Phoenician rowers. Alice is better known as rowing with her sister Cora in the Lightweight Double Sculls. The Mohican sister's have pulled in a gold and a silver. She has surely proven that she doesn't need her big sister around to help her win, as her performance at these games have shown everyone as she goes into the finals with the second faster time in the semi final. Other female finalist Whitey Tea Awe is hoping to stop her team mate in her tracks and take out the gold in this event. She took a silver in the last Summer Olympic Games in The Free Republics and this time she looking to improve on her performance.

The West Phoenician Softball Team The Mountain Lions have played an amazing final against host nation Furby Islands. Both teams were equally matched and neither was wanting to concede defeat against their opponents. By the top of the ninth, both teams were locked in at 3-3.
Kora Goldsmith who was pitching for the West Phoenician Mountain Lions kept the game tied with some amazing pitches, known as the Queen of the Fastball, her coach instructed her at the top of the 9th to change tactics to the drop pitch; that threw the opposition off their game when they were expecting fast balls.
With the game tied it was Chastity Mount who secured a win for the team, smacking a home run off
Furby Islands pitcher Natasha Riffle to win the day.

This is the cutoff for day 9 RPs. RPs past this point will not count towards the day 10 RP bonus.

FBC Sports Broadcast Part 2*
Night, day 7

This is part 2 of the day 7 broadcast. Day 9 and 10 will both be posted tomorrow.

“Moving on to the women’s athletics events. The team did well in the hundred meter heats, where three sprinters qualified.”

“In the first heat, Grizzell and Suttles got in second and fifth, respectively, and qualified for the semifinals. Due to this race being short, with the fastest runner finishing after thirteen seconds, we are able to show the entire race right now.” The eight sprinters were standing at the starting line, on their blocks. The pistol went off, and they all started running. Suttles took an early lead, but by the end of the first twenty meters, she was behind. In most of the race, the sprinters remained together, which the exception of two who were falling behind. Grizzell looked to be getting ahead, before passed by another sprinter. Six crossed the finish line at nearly the same time, and markers in their lanes, signaling their place, simultaneously. About a second and a half later, the final two sprinters finished. The last few meters were replayed in slow motion, making it clear which sprinters finished first. A table of the first heat was shown.

“Chillemi got first in the third heat, and second out of all the sprinters.” The new set of sprinters were shown at the starting line, already on their blocks. Once again, the pistol was fired, and the sprinters took off. Chillemi stayed with the rest of the group, even falling behind at times. Thirty meters away from the finish line, she pushed faster, getting ahead of the rest of the sprinters, then finishing at what seemed to be the same time. Just like the previous race, a slow motion reply was shown. The heat three table was then shown, and that was followed by the table of all thirty-six sprinters, and marked who was advancing to semifinals.

“In the women’s fifteen hundred meter run, Furby Island also did extremely well. Three more qualified to the finals.”

“Four of the five runners, Gross, Kingsland, Kinlaw, and Poydras, raced in the first heat, finishing at various times.” What was commonplace in distance runs was a large cluster of runners, that was slowly growing longer and thinner as the race went on, and some runners breaking ahead in the end of the race. The first heat was no different. Gross was near the front. Kingsland was somewhere in the middle. The other two runners were near the back. The screen changed to the final straightaway. Gross began sprinting hard, but she was not as fast as some of the other runners. Kingsland was somewhere in the middle of the group. The other two were at the back. The runners, one by one, began crossing the finish line. Unlike other races shown, it was clear who was in which place. After Poydras crossed, there was another New Waldemsian runner who did not finish, and was ten seconds behind. Her finish was not shown, and the screen switched to the table of heat one results.

“Seagraves ran in the second heat, and getting seventh.” The end of that heat was shown. Once again, there was a large group, and soon runners began sprinting ahead to the finish line. They crossed, about a second or a few apart each, until the fourteenth place runner crossed. The last place, another New Waldensian, was behind by twenty-four and a half seconds. The heat two table was shown, then the table for all runners.

“Being a long distance race, this was not as close, with runners separated by seconds rather than fractions of a second. But this did not seen to be the case for runners fifteen through eighteen, who all finished close to each other.”

“Kingsland was lucky to get ahead here.”

“Unlike the previous few races, Furby Island did not do as well in the single medal event today, the women’s shot put. Two of the throwers got fouls in all three of their throws, and only one, Boon, qualified to the finals.” Boon’s three throws were shown. Only one of her throws ended up being scored, and it put her in third place. A table was shown with the results, and qualifying athletes highlighted, followed by a graphic of the shot put throwing area. The best of the three throws of all athletes were shown, colored by nationality. They were highlighted brightly if the athlete made the qualifying standard, less bright if she did not make the standard but got in the top twelve, and not highlighted if she did not qualify.

“Despite getting in third place, Boon failed in the medal round, getting three fouls in the finals, placing last among the twelve throwers.” Her three throws were shown, and the judges saying they were fouls. Boon did not protest.

“The hammer throw also did not go well for Furby Island, with only Laperle qualifying for the finals. The athletics coach was frustrated with the low performance of the Furbish athletes in both throwing events.” Laperle’s three throws were shown, none of them being fouls. Following her throws was the table of advancing athletes, and the graphic of best throws.

“The final athletics event, the mother of women’s athletics events, is the heptathlon. The first four events were contested today, the other three will be tomorrow.”

“The first event is the hundred meter hurdles. Borg has shown to be Furby Island’s best player in this event, and probably the team’s only hope of winning any medals in this event.” Borg’s run was shown. She jumped over each hurdle, staying a few meters ahead of the other athletes in her heat. The eight lanes were marked signaling which athletes were first. The table was shown, with hurdles results, and points.

“High jump was the next event, with Borg doing just as well in this event.” Some of Borg’s jumps were shown. They began at one and a half meters, then the bar rose by three centimeters and athletes had to jump over, and were given three attempts to jump over each height.

“Borg finished at nearly two meters, scoring over twelve hundred points in this event.” The table was shown, then a graphic of the heights. In between two lines, symbolizing the poles holding up the bar, lines colored by nationality were drawn, which represented the heights of all the athletes.

“Borg did not do as well in the next two events, scoring lower than some other Furbish athletes. In shot put, she got in eleventh.” Borg’s throws were shown, followed by a graphic similar to the one used in the shot put.

“In the two hundred meter sprint, she got in sixteenth, which was a low performance compared to her first two events.” Her entire sprint was shown. She crouched at her blocks, and took off with the sound of the starting pistol. After running ahead in the beginning, Borg lost her steam, and slowed down near the end, getting a low time among her heat. The table with all the results and points was shown.

“Borg is in third place in the heptathlon after the first day, still going strong despite not doing as well in the latter two events. We have that she will do well tomorrow, possibly taking home a medal in the heptathlon.”

“Quite an eventful first day of athletics, but there are still more events to cover.”

“The men’s basketball team lost another match today against Gagium. The game was tied in the end, but the Gagiumish team got ahead by three points in the overtime.” Some highlights were shown, including some Furbish three point shots, and some by Gagium. In the overtime, the Furbish team started off ahead, and was ahead by two points. But the Gagiumish team scored a three point shot, followed by another two point shot near the end of the game, winning it. The group A table was shown.

“Unfortunately, due to this loss the Furbish team may not be able to advance to semifinals. Doing so would require defeating San Carlos Islands in the next match, and their team has not lost a game so far. This would also require Gagium to defeat Ferlik. Both of those will tie the Furbish and Gagiumish teams in terms of points for second place. If there is a tie, it would go to the point difference, and the Gagiumish team is at nine, while Furby Island is at negative one.”

“Some more good news, the women’s football team won another game today, defeating Aeternitatia two to nothing.”

“This is the first game won by the team, and they have one more to go in the groups stage.” Highlights of the game were shown. They included the two Furbish goals, one half an hour into the game, the other twenty minutes from the end. Various blocks made by both goalkeepers were shown, then the group A standings.

“This time, the team does have a chance of making it to the semifinals. This would require winning the next game against San Carlos Islands. The results of the Gagium and New Waldensia match does not matter. The advancing team will be the winner of the game.”

“The single sculls were another event that went well for Furby Island.”

“In the second A/B semifinal, Eckart and Cerezo qualified to the A finals. Cerezo came in third, over seventeen seconds before the fourth place rower.” Footage from the camera of a drone flying near the finish line was shown. Instead of the camera facing at the finish line, a different camera view was shown, which faced towards the starting line. It showed all six lanes, and the starting line at Gelderman’s Wharf. Three boats were seen ahead. Eckart’s boat was in first, then another one a few seconds behind him, and Cerezo. They were shown going forward, then disappearing from the camera. All that could be seen was three rowers who were far behind. The view then switched to the usual view, of the finish line, and the first three rowers were shown crossing it. The table for this race was shown, followed by the table for both semifinal races.

“The women’s single sculls also went well, this time Noto and Karl qualified to the A finals.” The first women’s semifinal was shown. Noto was shown crossing seven seconds after the first place rower, and a second after the second place rower. The screen changed to the table of results for the first race, then to the second semifinal race. Karl did worse in this race, getting a slower time than Noto, but second place in the race. She crossed the finish line eleven seconds after the first place rower, and six seconds before the third place. A table showing the results was put on screen, followed by a table of results from both races.

“The final medal event for today is men’s beach volleyball. The fourth out of five days of the groups was today, and Furby Island did quite well there.”

“In group A, Stgermain and Mohamed won their fourth game, this time against a team from San Carlos Islands. They won after two sets. Willey and Baron won their first game, against the Aeternitatian team” Highlights from both games were shown, followed by the group A table.

“Based on the results from the groups, it does not matter what happens in the next game. Stgermain and Mohamed will advance to the quarterfinals, and Willey and Baron will not.”

“In group B, Fausto and Semon defeated a Novo Abrahamian team. This is their second win, and they now sit in second place in their group. They have a chance of advancing to quarterfinals.” Highlights from the game were shown. This was a closer game than the last two. The Novo Abrahamian team had come close to winning both sets, and at times were ahead. But in the end, the Furbish pair won the game. The group B table was shown.

“In group C, Hutchinson and Philbeck won a game, although this one was significantly closer than the other two, taking place over three sets., and the West Phoenician team they played against was close in the third one.” Highlights of this game were shown, followed by the table of group C.

“Hutchinson and Philbeck played four games, meaning they will have a bye, but they will definitely advance to the quarterfinals.”

“Men’s indoor volleyball also began today, but the Furbish team had their bye.”

“There have been mixed results today in the demonstration events today.”

“The men’s American football team did extremely well, first of all, scoring three touchdowns and three field goals against the Ferlik team, which scored two touchdowns.” Some highlights were shown. All of the touchdowns by both teams were shown, then the Furbish field goals, and various downs by both teams.

“The softball team also did well, scoring two home runs against New Waldensia. And by coincidence, in both sports, Furby Island will play in the finals against West Phoenicia.” Highlights from the softball game were shown. Both of the Furbish home runs were scored in the eighth inning, where a single player was on third base. The batter hit a home run. The score did not change in the rest of the game.

“Results were not as good in chess. Of the eight players in the quarterfinals, five were Furbish, and four of them were defeated.”

“One game many Furbishmen paid attention to was between Furbish grandmasters Niver and Hales. Niver, the second best Furbish player in terms of ELO, was expected to win. Hales put up a good fight. In the first round, each player won a game as white, and then played a tiebreaker round.”

“In the first tiebreaker, both players ended up drawing on both games, and they played in another tiebreaker. They again tied the first game, but in the second, Hales, who played as black, managed to defeat Niver, and move on to the semifinals.”

“In chessboxing, the men’s mediumweight and women’s lightweight had their finals. There were some close games, though Furby Island did not do very well in them.”

“In the men’s mediumweight final, Fritch lost to a West Phoenician player after being knocked out in one of the boxing rounds.” Highlights were shown, including Fritch being knocked out and the judges declaring him as losing the match, and winning second for the event.

“Griest, who was in the women’s lightweight final, also lost. Though she was checkmated in one of the chess rounds. Carstarphen, who played in the third place final, won the game. She knocked out an Aeternitatian player in the last round of the game.” Highlights from both games were shown. Switching between rounds was the hard part of the sport, and later in the game, it was showing. In the end, whichever player adjusted quicker would win the game.

“The final event today was the digital collectible card game semifinals and finals. The remaining Furbish player, Giefer, ended up losing both games.” Parts of the game were shown, including the end of the winning and losing matches.

The reporters wished their audience a good night before closing off the broadcast.

King Glenton Bush I Birthday is coming up. West Phoenicia continues to celebrate the birth of the first royal from the current royal family that has ruled the nation for over 400 years. While he only ruled for five years he was extremely important in moving the nation into an era of prosperity and vast construction projects. One of the West Phoenician city-state is named after him; The King Glenton Bush I Province that is rich in gold and iron ore mining. Ever city-state capital has a large bronze status displaying the king.

The majority of the nation enjoy the day, it is an amazing day to celebrate the birthday of one of their first kings. The head of the house is giving gifts by other members of their family. City-states hold free festivals with free food and alcohol and attempt to outdo each other with firework displays and live entertainment.

But many who oppose the royal family and what they stand for continue to question, has celebrating the founder of the Gryphon-Bush dynasty become redundant?
The cite that King Glenton Bush I was the start of a dynasty that grew more decadent, corrupt and inbred as new each generation was born. The Anti-royalists, mainly Communists and Socialist use the day to try and educate people on their opinion that he was not a saviour but an evil man that should it be admired and that his images should be removed and his dynasty expelled from West Phoenicia.

Name: King Glenton Bush I Soter
Years Reigned: 1616-1621
Deeds:
Nicknamed The Saviour after many feared the proceeding royal family The Dorcas' would reunite West Phoenicia with Greater Phoenicia.
Glenton Bush I, a baron at the time, stopped this from happening when he gained enough support from nobles, the clergy and military to depose the reigning Queen, Louisa Dorcas.
It was not known to later he only accused the queen of treason after she rejected his advances.
He was known for a huge construction projects of temples, government offices, palaces, harbours, gardens and zoos. As well as boosting military numbers and lavishing gold and new churches on the clergy.
He made polygamy legal in the nation and while he had one head wife, he also married or had as mistresses an additional eight women. His lusty polygamous ways had him father to 35 children.
Many who were married off to royalty from other nations in marriage and political alliances. And which helped the name flourish in the region.
He married his eldest daughter Princess Bernice Bush I to her eldest brother Prince Moses Bush I the Older, in a union to keep the Bush royal family bloodline pure; a tradition that would continue for generations. Leading many opponents to label them inbred vipers.
King Glenton Bush I died when he was thrown from his horse and his first wife Queen Brenda Hills-Bush assumed control before her passing, which passed the throne to the first Brother-Sister married couple to rule.

Noorderstein Olympic Village
New Waldensian Olympic Lounge, evening of Day 10

Prince Erik Norvik of Toulode, chairman of the NWOC, was mingling with athletes in the New Waldensian Olympic Lounge, the hub of activity in the New Waldensian section of the Olympic Village. This had been the most successful day of the Games so far for the New Waldensian team, with eight medals being won by team members in six different events.

Athletes, coaches, and trainers were buzzing in and out of the Lounge, while others were occupied in conversation or grabbing drinks at the coffee bar. It was easy to determine which athletes were done with their disciplines and which were still preparing for others.

Norvik paused to take a photo with some younger athletes from the women's soccer team, then proceeded to walk to the other side of the large open space. "Ian Griffith! Congratulations on your second medal." He shook hands with the star swimmer, the first multi-medaler on the delegation. "Bring home some more, will you?"

Griffith shared a chuckle as he bade farewell, headed out for a late-night swim. He still has several competitions left on the schedule.

Norvik stopped to chat with some of the track and field coaches. "I was really impressed today with the women's 400m and 3000m steeplechase. Garnering gold and silver in both was quite the accomplishment. You should be proud of yourselves."

A Winter athlete himself and the youngest member of the NWOC, Norvik was a popular figure. As he worked his way out the door, he paused for several more photos and signed a few autographs.

Once back in his suite, he responded to several interview requests over the phone, including one with Waldensian Radio News. "Today was extraordinary as far as how well our delegation performed. I have great confidence moving forward that we will continue to excel and anticipate a very successful second half of these Games." he told the news agency.

Finally, sometime around 1am, Norvik was able to get to bed. Tomorrow would be another busy day.

Noorderstein, Furby Island
Night; Day 10

On day 10 of the Summer Olympics the intro that the daily San Carlos TV (SCTV) sports broadcast, covering all the insides and outs of the San Carlos Islands National Olympic team introduced yesterday was shown again today. A video montage of all the highlights of the day quickly flashed cross the screen and then faded into a cut of the SCTV logo overshadowing the city of Noorderstein. As that disappeared cameras overlooking a platform with a large desk on top of it where nightly hosts Foster Hayley and Kennedy Hayward where sitting. However there would not be an interview today.

- Ahh, no interviews today, so this episode should be short and sweet. So Kennedy, your thoughts about today?"

The camera turned to Kennedy who smiled. "Well, today in sheer medal count was the San Carlos Island's best day yet. However, don't jump out of your seat as only one of those medals were gold, that would be Rosa Becker's gold medal showing today in the Women's Hammer throw."

Footage of Rosa Becker today played on a large screen behind them as Foster interjected. "So what we're your thoughts about Rosa and the Women's Hammer throw today?"

The camera turned back to Kennedy who answered the question. "Well Foster, first and foremost we have to recognize that Mrs. Becker wasn't the only Olympian from the Commonwealth of the San Carlos Islands to do well in this event. In fact, Colleen Jones who was actually on the show yesterday and seemed confident she would place threw a 75.01 today, 0.25 points ahead of Katrine Holtet from New Waldensia winning the bronze medal. 1.23 ahead of Colleen Jones was of course Rosa who threw a 76.24, a mere .12 ahead of the silver medalist, making her the one to take home the gold."

The camera turned back to Foster and he smiled as some various footage of diving and athletics started to play. "Very well! Congratulations to Colleen and Rosa! - As for our other medals today Nikola Bogdanov won the silver in the Men's 3m Springboard and Ratomir Milic took home another silver in the Men's Pole Vault."

Focus went back to Kennedy as Women's 100m Butterfly final footage played. "Finally, Anastazija Kuznetsova who was also on this show tomorrow pulled off her second medal winning performance today, pulling away from everyone 3rd and below by a substantial amount of time but only .7 seconds out from first. We congratulate her and everyone who took home a medal today. - These may of been our only medal winners of the day, but that doesn't mean there weren't other San Carlos Islanders who didn't score a win today."

The camera turned to Foster. "First, Women's Water Polo. The San Carlos Islands women's water polo team has locked in an advance to the semifinals today with their win against Ferlik today, beating them eight to four. They advance with three wins and a draw and a goal differential of 13 points. Next, a substantial amount of San Carlos Islanders will be advancing in the Men's 110m Hurdles, those men would be; York Dean, Dobroslav Kokot, Stefan Jankovic, Ralf Werner, and Mark Van Arendonk. In fact, that means every Islander entered will move to the next round of the event."

Focus turned back to Kennedy."Gavriil Mlakar had a good go today in the Men's 3000m Steeplechase, leading the entire pack. With him, fellow Islanders Hemming Leifsson and Aleksandar Ivanov will move forward to the semifinals alongside him. Next, Sladana Romanov and Veronika Vlahovic will advance the the semifinals in the Women's Discus Throw. Finally, Women's Beach Volleyball, an event we have been watching very closely here at SCTV sports. Three out of four teams from the San Carlos Islands will advance to the semifinals. They will be Tess Piper & Nata Lagounov, Kennedy Goldy & Valaria Pavlova, and Lauren Chen & Faith Bazos. The next round of that event will be on Friday."

Foster would wrap up the show. "Finally, matchday two of Women's Indoor Volleyball was today. The San Carlos Islands beat Furby Island in the 5th round, making them the only undefeated team in the division and cementing their place at the top of the pack. - That's it for this broadcast of SCTV Sports. Tune in tomorrow to see if Emily Van Hoek and Holly Jones can end an undefeated run here in Noorderstein by defeating the Furbish Islands again and taking home the gold, you know we'll be watching that very closely. See if York Dean, Dobroslav Kokot, Stefan Jankovic, Ralf Werner, or Mark Van Arendonk can take home the gold in the Men's 110m hurdles. See if Matilda Norfolk will shine in the Women's 5000m and Women's javelin throw preliminaries. If Colleen Jones can improve her showing here by beating the competition in the Women's 100m hurdles. And if the Men's Football team can take home gold tomorrow by beating Furby Island. See it all tomorrow. I'm Foster Hayley."

"And like always I'm Kennedy Hayward. thanks for tuning into this special broadcast of SCTV Sports. Good night and godspeed to the San Carlos Olympic Team from SCTV, providing English broadcasting to the Commonwealth for nearly 40 years."

The Camera had both of them in the center as they pulled out green, white, and blue flags and shouted "GO TEAM SCI"

The Federation of Conservative Nations Olympiad has been hailed a success for Team West. Currently they sit on 7 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze. Their target of 50 medals is within reach.
It has been the Games, that have given the nation a boost in sports that normally they have failed at other Olympic Games.
West Phoenician Olympic Committee President Baroness Flora Freeman, chalks it up to the extra funding that number of Sports have received. Funding that has allowed sports to hire better coaches and equipment and improve their facilities.
The Results of the Summer Olympic Games in The Free Republics and The First Federation of Conservative Nations Olympiad are going to be huge factors in the next budget of what funding each sport will receive, the better a sport or event performs, more funding they will receive.
Some will say, isn't that an indicator that sports that are lacking in performance should be given the bigger share?
The West Phoenician Olympic Committee disagrees, saying rewarding performers who excels is a better incentive as it will encourage other sports and athletes to step up their game.
The committee also said there are cases, for example with Men's Basketball, which receives adequate funding from the Ministry of Sports also receive a large number of endorsements and sponsorships for an array of companies, and have failed to produce any medals or win any international championships. Government funding is just one area, sports are free to attract as many donors from the public and private sector as they like. So if The Ministry of Sport was to reduce its funding from Men's basketball and funnel it to womens basketball that has just pulled in a bronze medal at the First Federation of Conservative Nations Olympiad, it would not overly affect the men's team due to outside support and reducing their funding was not going to change their performance or give them the incentive to perform better.
However some athletes have said that is not the case for all sports where many struggle to get funding outside of the Ministry and that The funding from the Ministry of Sports is their lifeline.
Improve your performance and see an increase the committee said time and time again when the budget came up for renewal.

These Olympic Games have shown anything is possible, some of the athletes who were considered a sure thing have failed to deliver, while others have surprised us.

One of the biggest wins for West Phoenicia was in Basketball, where the West Phoenician Black Widows played some great ball. While we lost in the semi-finals it allowed us to compete in the bronze medal event where team captain Emma-louise rallied the women to play hard and avoid as many fouls as possible against Novo Abrahamia. By half time it was a back and forth game to Miss Alpha lead a touching motivational speech about team work and never giving up. The pep talk as well as the West Phoenician cheerleading team who were cheering on the sidelines allowed The Black Widows to gain a lead they kept for the remainder of the match, defeating their rivals 89-79.
The women were in tears as they humbly took the bronze medal win as fans in the audience cheered the women on. "This is the first time a West Phoenician basketball team has reached so far. We are so proud to be West Phoenician right now," stated shooting guard Sofie Swan

Another first for West Phoenicia was Dave McAscot scoring gold in Men's Pole Fault. Throughout many Olympics and International Sporting events West Phoenicia has never been too strong in the Track and Field, primarily the field events. These games have shown some true talent that finally our Track and Field department is bearing fruit. 30 year old Dave McAscot from the city-state of Cluella joined the golden ranks with Franky Philo who won gold in Triple Jump.
Dave had been unsuccessful at the last two Games, so it was a blessing from the gods, goddesses and animal deities that we are becoming blessed. So joining the ranks are silver medalist Barry Bangle in Men's Discuss and Gaius True-Path in Men's Long Jump.
Up until these games West Phoenicia had only obtained 2 Bronze in Field events in the Paralympics and six in the able bodied Summer Games.
The wins have certainly boosted the confidence of the Athletics-field Coaches who have struggled over the years to produce medal winners in a larger amount.

(Jesus Christ guys stop posting..euuuuuuuugh)

Gagium Free Radio
Libra XM Channel 40

"Good afternoon, Gagium! This is Adeline Alford bringing you the latest coverage of the Olympiad from Gagium Free Radio, Channel 40. First and foremost, several Gagiumish spectators and sports fans are questioning the Gagiumish Olympiad Committee’s lack of organization, proper training, and ability to fill in athletes in numerous events after Day 10 came without a single Gagiumish medal. Several athletes have made statements to the media affirming that they didn’t believe the GOC did all they could to support the nation’s athletes or properly prepare, but regardless still support the committee.”

“The Gagiumish Olympiad Committee has made a statement apologizing how things were run and promising to up their game and cooperate with athletes next time to ensure that things will be done right. However, not many believe this, and plenty of people on social media still express their doubt by tweeting ‘#XtodoubtGOC’. Though until then, things have been so bad these games that plenty of sports commentators have announced that they can’t be watching the games anymore in the future.”

“Back to the playing fields, Day 10 has run amok for the nation, with no medals at all being won while underdog nation who has sparsely been heard of Novo Abrahamia winning two gold medals. International commentators have announced their praise for the team in their surprising wins, while citizens in Gagium have expressed their outrage. A protest of several hundred people in St. Louis gathered to protest yesterday’s outcomes, with the crowd demanding several things from the GOC like other people.”

“Athlete Bria Buckley came in fourth in the Women’s 400m sprint, being 0.02 seconds from placing and winning a bronze today. The Gagiumish team in the demo Women’s Football event won third by beating the New Waldensian team in the third place round. This had Gagium’s football fans somewhat enthused at the win, though everyone would’ve preferred a gold in the sport.”

“Now, in the Men’s Triple Jump preliminaries, Gagiumish athletes Soren McLeod and Rubén Alemán placed first and second for the group, leaving many commentators somewhat hopeful that a gold can be pulled off, despite our luck in these games.”

“Looking towards today, Day 11, hope is that the Women’s triathlon athletes will be able to pull off a gold. Heats and preliminaries for several athletic and swimming events also begin today. Finals in women’s basketball and men’s soccer will be occurring as well.

“Now we have an interview with Women’s triathlon athlete Lucia Garrido. Hi Lucia, how are you?”

“I’m fine, slightly nervous for later though.”

“The triathlon consists of swimming, cycling, and running. Do you believe that you’re up for the task of tackling all these, and how do you think your teammates will do?”

“I’ve cycled and ran plenty before, and have swam in the past two Olympic triathlons after over a year of preparation. These Olympics will be slightly different though, with plenty of skilled competitors from across the Federation of Conservative Nations, but I believe that we still have a chance. I have full confidence that my athletes will preform excellently as well.”

“What do you have to say about the nations that have accumulated dozens of medals when Gagium has collected eight total 11 days in?”

“I am disappointed that this averages to less than one medal per day, and am ashamed at our nation’s performance. I hope that the Olympiad committee can improve training and preparation next games. I would like to congratulate all other nations on their wins though.”

“I agree. Final question, the triathlon often occurs in unpredictable conditions, which can include storms or weather conditions as well as conditions with the chosen route. Are you ready for this, and is there anything else you want to say?”

“Yes, I believe me and my teammates are ready for the triathlon and whatever conditions it may occur in, as we all have several years of experience under our belt of preforming in all conditions. I would like to say this though. Even if we don’t win, I support everyone in this and every athlete participating in the games regardless of flag or banner. Thank you for having me, Adeline.”

“Thanks for being on the show Lucia. Looking past Day 11, the Men’s triathlon will also be interesting to watch and see the results in. Gamers across the nation are pumped and ready for Wii Sports on Day 12, as well as Wii Sports Resort and Battle Royale events. Prominent YouTube channel GamerWatch has pledged to keep the nation’s gamers up to date on the Olympics’ gaming events, and has also donated several cases of Mountain Dew to athletes participating in these events.”

“On day 15, the women’s football gold medal match will be held, with bronze medal round being held on day 14 and semifinals being held tomorrow on day 12. As of Day 9, the Gagiumish Women’s Football team has advanced to semifinals, along with the Furbish and underdog nations Paleoconservative Citizens & Ferlik. Hopes are that the other nations in the semifinals, with the exception of the Furbish, will be easily defeated.”

“That’s enough for the morning’s pre-games coverage. Thanks for tuning in to Gagium Free Radio on Channel 40, and make sure to tune in later for result coverage!”

*Insert typical radio ads here. One for a drug company, another ad for some other radio channel, and finally an advertisement for the top-tier Gagium Mafia.*

... “Hello, I’m Christian Salemsford, and you’re listening to Gagium Free Radio, Channel 40. This is breaking news coming immediately in, a miniature riot has occurred in the Olympic village, with several non-placing athletes still in the city holding a protest outside of the predominately-Gagiumish residential tower, with dozens of athletes and the near-entirety of the Gagiumish FPS team participating. The crowd is waving banners that speak out against the Gagiumish Olympiad Committee and others for inadequate funding and preparation for the games.”

“It seems as if the crowd isn’t going anywhere, as more athletes join and any athletes participating in events today from the tower will have to walk by or through the crowd. The FPS team has set up a tent with a sign outside reading ‘Gamers of Gagium against Non-Gamers of Furby Island’, and they have Mountain Dew provided by youtubers at GamerWatch as well as dozens of bags of Doritos. It is unclear as to who actually planned this riot, though we will be providing coverage of this as the day advances. We have yet to see how other athletes from other nations will react as well.”

“Moving on, in other news, the Gagiumish Presidential Office has condemned the Iranians ahead of naval security meetings...”

This is the cutoff for day 10 RPs. RPs past this point will not count towards the day 11 RP bonus.

FBC Sports Broadcast
Night, day 9

The Noorderstein Olympic village was shown. After it was montage of the current day’s events was played, which included various events, both medal and demonstration, and medal ceremonies. This faded away into the FBC Sports logo, then the reporters Martijn Luiken and Petra Lansink. They wished the audience a good evening and introduced themselves before beginning coverage.

“We are over halfway through the Games, and Furby Island’s performance seems to be slipping.” began Luiken.

“Some athletes have been underperforming, though some positive results have been shown.” replied Lansink.

“Beginning with diving, three of the four male divers qualified to the semifinals today, the highest being Barrick who was in fourth place.”

“He scored less than two points below the third place diver, and has a chance in the finals.”

“In the men’s butterfly, only Rimer qualified to the semifinals. He ended up third in the third heat, and seventh overall.”

“He had a better performance in the semifinals, ending second in the second race and fifth overall. He was close behind some of the other swimmers, only a fifth of a second behind the second place swimmer. We have hope for him in the finals tomorrow.”

“In the women’s hundred meter butterfly, Furby Island did better. Anderson and Woodman, who were in the first and second heats respectively, advanced to the semifinals, getting ninth and eighth place overall respectively.”

“Anderson did better in the semifinals, getting sixth place overall, and fourth in her race. Woodman, who raced in the semifinal, did not qualify.”

“Moving on to athletics, the Furbish team had some worse luck.”

“Out of three Furbish men’s four hundred meter sprint finalists, only Malott earned a medal, silver.”

“Antonucci was close, only a hundredth of a second away from the third place runner. Krauss was farther behind.”

“Two Furbishmen advanced to the high jump finals after the preliminary round. Byrns and Bulmer did not reach the qualifying mark, but they placed in the top twelve.”

“In the women’s four hundred meter semifinals, Winnie was third in the second race, fourth overall, and won a spot in the semifinals. Cruce did not do as well, getting over half a second slower than the eighth place runner, and seventh in the second semifinal.”

“The results were disappointing in the fifteen hundred meter run. The fastest runner, Gross, finished four fifths of a second after the third place runner. The other two finished later by a few seconds.”

“In the final athletics event, the triple jump, Furby Island did well.”

“Bones won silver in the event, and the event was close. She was only four centimeters from the gold medalist.”

“Lancaster, the other jumper, was fourteen centimeters from the bronze medalist.”

“Moving on from athletics, today was the last day in the groups stage for the men’s basketball and women’s football teams.”

“The men’s basketball team did not do well, losing a game against San Carlos Islands, and finishing in fourth place in group A.”

“The women’s football team did well on the other hand, winning a game against San Carlos Islands.”

“Both were very strong teams, and they were playing for the second spot in the semifinals. The Furbish team scored two goals, and missed none.”

“The last event where medals were awarded is the coxed eights, for both men’s and women’s.”

“The Furbish team did not do very well in both of those events, winning two bronzes, despite predictions that they will win gold.”

“The men’s A final was close. The Furbish team ended half a second away from Aeternitatia, which one silver. West Phoenicia, which won gold, was over four seconds ahead of both teams.”

“The women’s race was not as close. About two seconds separated each of the three teams.”

“An interesting thing to note, San Carlos Islands, which raced in the B final, got ahead of West Phoenicia and could have taken the silver medal. If only they did as well in the heats or repechage.”

“Men’s beach volleyball is another event Furby Island did extremely well in. In group A, both Furbish teams played against each other, with Stgermain and Mohamed winning, securing their spot in first place.”

“Fausto and Semon lost a game, though they still remain in second place in group B.”

“In group C, Hutchinson and Philbeck had their bye, though they remained in first place.”

“Overall, three of the four Furbish teams will be advancing to the quarterfinals.”

“The final medal event today is men’s indoor volleyball, where the Furbish team won their first game against New Waldensia. The game was close, however.”

“Moving on to the demonstration events. The Furbish men’s American football and softball teams did poorly today.”

“The American football team scored a single touchdown, earning seven points, against twenty-three from West Phoenicia. The team won second overall.”

“The women’s softball team played well. Unfortunately, West Phoenicia scored a home run near the end, winning the game.”

“In chess, Furbish grandmaster Hales tied against a West Phoenician player, though he won in the tiebreaker. He will move on to the finals in two days.”

“In the men’s lightweight chessboxing preliminary round today, Herrmann defeated a Novo Abrahamian player.”

“The last event today is the first four matches for the group rounds of fighting.”

“There are mixed results from the games, and anything could change in the last three rounds tomorrow. But esports as demonstration events have boosted viewership of the Games among younger demographics.”

The reporters wished the views a good night before closing off the broadcast. While covering all the events, footage of the respective events were shown on screen as well.

The same introduction was played as was played before every other broadcast, but with a different montage for the current day’s events. Reporters Martijn Luiken and Petra Lansink appeared on screen and introduced themselves.

Lansink began, “Today, a week away from the end of the Games, the performance of the Furbish team seems to be slipping.”

“And the spectators and coaches noticed” replied Luiken “Many have criticized the performance of the team later into the Games, now especially due to Furby Island slipping to third in the medal count, tied in golds with two other delegations.”

“Beginning with the men’s three meter springboard, only Barrick advanced to the finals, ending in fourth place."

“The other two divers, Malone and Sutliff, were very close from the twelfth place diver.”

“Barrick did even worse in the finals, getting in sixth place.”

“In the men’s hundred meter butterfly, Furby Island did even worse. The only Furbish swimmer in the event, Rimer, got in last place, over a fourth of a second after the seventh place swimmer.”

“Andersen did slightly better in the women’s final, getting in seventh. But that race was even closer. Andersen was a twenty-fifth of a second faster than the last place swimmer.”

“Taking a break from the bad news, the women’s water polo team won their last match, eight to five against Gagium, but even if they lost, they would still make it to the semifinals.”

“The team will play against West Phoenicia, which also has a strong team. The game will be close.”

“Athletics has seen some mixed results today from Furby Island. Beginning with the men’s one hundred ten meter hurdles.”

“There, four of the five Furbish hurdlers qualified to the semifinals, including Franck, who got first place in the first heat, and overall.”

“All the races were extremely close, however. Anything can happen in the semifinals and finals, but we hope for the best from the team.”

“The steeplechase also went well. Two Furbish runners qualified to the finals. Mirarchi ended in sixth, two seconds behind the first place runner.”

“In the triple jump preliminary, all five Furbish jumpers qualified to the finals.”

“The best performance is from Marietta, who was in fifth, but twenty-six centimeters away from the first place jumper.”

“Heckler, who was in twelfth, was only one centimeter from from thirteenth place jumper. This competition was extremely close.”

“Once again, anything can happen, and we have hope Furby Island can get a good spot in the finals.”

“And speaking of finals, the men’s pole vault was today, though results have been disappointing.”

“Deblois ended in fourth place at 5.95 meters. This was the same length the third place pole vaulter ended at, though Deblois missed his first jump at the previous height, costing him the bronze medal.”

“The women’s four hundred meter sprint also did not go well. Winnie ended in sixth place, about a third of a second away from the first place sprinter, and a little over a fourth of a second from the third place.”

“The women’s steeplechase was an event Furby Island was predicted to win a gold in. Blazer, the best runner, ended up with a bronze medal.”

“The discus throw preliminary did not go very well for Furby Island either. Only one Furbish thrower, Deakins, qualified, though she was in eleventh of the twelve throwers, and got over two and a half meters less than the first place thrower.”

“The final athletics event today is the women’s hammer throw, where once again Furby Island did not place. Laperle, the only Furbish thrower, got in ninth, a meter behind first place.”

“The results for rowing were not as well as expected, though Furby Island did not do terribly.”

“Cerezo won a silver medal in the men’s single sculls.”

“The race was less close in the women’s single sculls, but Noto took home another silver.”

“Today in women’s beach volleyball, the final matchday took place.”

“Sonnenberg and Carnahan won another match, and are now first in group A, and will advance to the quarterfinals.”

“In group C, Sweetman and Barnhardt ended in first as well, and they will also go to the quarterfinals. The other teams unfortunately did not do as well as expected.”

“The final medal event today is women’s indoor volleyball.”

“Furby Island lost against San Carlos Islands, though the game was close. After five drawn out sets, the team lost, but is still in second in group A. The team is still likely to advance, but it depends on the final game, against West Phoenicia.”

The reporters spent some time discussing the demonstration events, before closing off the broadcast. Footage of games was also played while they were discussing the Furbish team’s results.

The West Phoenician men's Water Polo team The Mermen have done it again. It front of a large crowd, they have pulled off another gold medal win after defeating Aeternitatia 10-8.

The West Phoenician team were hot favourites to take out the medal, after pulling in a silver medal at the Summer Olympic Games in The Free Republics. This time they were not going to settle for second best, they had alot to prove and another medal under their belts was going to help boost their confidence gling into the World Aquatics Championship which was being hosted in
Kirkenes; Kelssek.

It was a tight game, they were not expecting the brutal attack from Aeternitatia whose players had so worked so hard to reach this point. Their opposition gave Mermen goal keeper
Justice Cavilier alot of play top. While he allowed eight goals, he did manage to defend the goal from an additional five attacks.
While in the last quarter Mike Lei showed the team why he was their captain by breaking free from bis competitor and scorning a point in the early stages of the fourth quarter. And allowing the opposition to cause a foul on him in the later part of the quarter that gave him the opportunity to score an extra goal, pushing them two goals in front. After securing the lead, it was a matter of playing keep away with the ball until the time ran out, a very typical West Phoenician move once they gain the lead.

Mike Lei said the win came down to two factors. "Alot of training, times where we were out of energy but we would push ourself a little more. Team coach Deshawn Leroy had been a player both times West Phoenicia had pulled in first place at the Water Polo International Championship. Back then Paul Heavenwood had been a brutal coaxh in drivjng the team to win. Mr Leroy is keeping the same coaching style in place, knowing West Phoenicia often does well when pushed by other teams.
Mike Lei and the team also regular pay homage to Poseidon, god of the Sea before every match. Giving him the respect and prayer he deserves. Even non-pagan players step up and participate in the worship as a way of team bonding and respect, but often would offer fruits and flowers as a way of thanking the Water deity instead of kneeling and paying homage.
To honour the god of the Sea and to bring favour from him going into the final match, a bull was sacrificed in his honour. They were also enjoyed by the West Phoenician womens Water Polo team who are are looking for a blessing from the Water deity before going into their semi-final match.

While fans celebrated both in Noordestein and back home in West Phoenicia, a number of Senators from the West Phoenician Animal Justice Party has slammed the team for resorting to sacrificing a bull, a tradition they say, should have died out years ago and animal sacrifice should no longer take place.
While animal rights groups have jumped to the Senators defence. Others say the gods and goddess would expect no less, and that the Senators were intringing on the religious rights of pagans who took part in those types of acitivity to respect tbeir deities, they also said they were not breaking the West Phoenician Animal Welfare Act and a senior official from the Animal Protection Bureau advised they will it be investigating. All proper avenues of respect were put in place and the Animal Welfare Act allows religious groups permission for engage in sacrifice as long as torture is not included.

Women's Basketball Gold Medal Finals
Day 11
The locker room of the San Carlos Islands National Women's Basketball team was eerily quit in comparison to the past games of the Olympic tournament. Playing the first game was fun, beating every other team by a substantial margin was fun, the team was usually rowdy and ecstatic before games. This was a whole different animal, this was for all the marbles.

As the stadium quickly filled up outside, the team was ready to play; ready to win. They stood there in the middle of the locker room; some with hands over their hips, some with their arms crossed, some looking down, silent.

Team Captain Emily Van Hoek who played Shooting Guard broke the silence. "So guys this is it, it's what we've been working towards. World Champions sounds pretty good, huh?"

Everyone else nodded in agreement. "And you know what guys, that's what we're going to be after tonight." The tone suddenly got more passionate and cliché as if this were a bad sports movie.

"We've beat our opponents once, by 24 points I think, I know we can do it again! But it's going to take speed, it's going to take strength, it's going to take determination, and most importantly it's going to take heart!"

She paused and dawned a smirk. "There are thousands of people at home watching this game, rooting for us, their country's national team, we're not going to disappoint them. We're going to show these foreign pansies where champions come from, and that's of course from the San Carlos Islands!"

She started jumping up and down and shouting "I believe that we can win! I believe that we can win!..." The rest of the team joined in until one of the members of the support staff signaled them that it was about time to walk onto the court.

The walked through the hall leading to the court and waited for the announcer to call them onto the court.

"Beating West Phoenicia in the semifinals, defending their undefeated record in the Olympic tournament, I present you; THE SAN CARLOS ISLANDS!" The crowed went wild and sea of green, white, and blue stood up and started waving flags and banners that dawned massages like "Team S.C.I." They stood on the out of bounds territory of the their opponents, Furby Islands, were called out.

They stood there, Furby Island on the opposite side as the two countries national anthems played.

It was game time...

They took their positions, the San Carlos Islands as the away team would take possession first. The ball moved down the court, passed to Point Guard Holly Jones, and then to Shooting Guard Emily Van Hoek... Three-pointer right off the bat. 0-3.

The ball went to the Furbish team next, they moved it up the court and one of their players managed to dunk it for 2. The score was now 2-3.

Holly pulled Emily aside. "First impression, they're not playing as well as they did in the last game."

San Carlos came back to score again, two points this time around. Furby Island tried to respond by the San Carlos Islands stole the ball and brought it back for another field goal. They expanded their early lead to 2 to 7.

The game continued to go back and forth, but the Islands was always a step ahead of the Furbish team, maintaining their lead all the way to half.

They went back to the locker room.

Emily stood up on a bench. The score was 32 Furby Island, San Carlos Islands 50. "We're kicking their asses girls! Let's get back out there and fucking represent the Commonwealth! Go team SCI!"

They all cheered and ran back out to the court for the second half.

They played harder, and the Furbish team started collapse. The clock ticked down...

It ticked down more... They expanded on their lead.

Finally.

They won! Final score, 65 to 91, San Carlos Islands. They were gold medal champions!

The San Carlos Sports fans rushed the court. Once again being a nuisance to the Furbish Island security.

Crown News
WaveTV Channel 230

*Quick montage of various Olympic sports being played in Noorderstein during the past few days, with some clips of various Gagiumish athletes who have actually won.*

“Hello, I’m Bella Carter and you’re watching Crown News’ special coverage of the FCN Olympic Games into Day 12! We’ll start with a recap of Day 11 first, and then we have an exclusive interview with an olympiad commentator who will share his predictions on what will go down later today.”
*Swimming clips of freestyles*

“The Men’s 1500 meter and Women’s 800 meter freestyle heats were held today, though no Gagiumish swimmers advanced to finals in the heats. Swimmers Sawyer Carrel and Leo Deleon placed 25th and 26th in the 1,500 meter, respectively.”

“The Gagiumish team won bronze in Men’s Water Polo by defeating the team from Ferlik 14-10 in the bronze match. Many fans spectating the game on scene was relieved at this victory, as the team was behind 6-8 before the end of the second quarter. However, they picked up their game after the second half of the match, winning eight goals in rapid succession near the end of the third quarter and overwhelming the previously strong Ferlik team.”

*Clip of highlights from the water polo match*

“Later In day 11, the Men’s Triple Jump finals were held. Athletes Soren McLeod and Rubén Alemán placed in silver and bronze respectively in the event, winning praise from their fellow athletes and the (Gagiumish) Olympiad Committee.”

“In an interview with reporters yesterday, McLeod thanked the Gagiumish Olympiad Committee for granting him this opportunity, as well as his family and friends. He also said, ‘I hope for the best to all other Gagiumish athletes partaking in the games over the next coming days and in the future.’”

*Footage of the men’s triple jump finals overlapped by a chart of the finalists*

“The Women’s 100 meter hurdles heats were held yesterday as well. Nadège Dufour placed in second advancing to semifinals while Laurine Crevier placed in sixth. The top sixteen athletes will be moving in the semifinals in the event.”

*Footage of the 100 meter hurdles*

“The Men’s Soccer finals were held today, with the match for gold being played by the Furbish and San Carlos Islands teams. The Furbish team won the game 4-1, earning the gold in the event.”

*Chart of final nation placings in Men’s Soccer*

“The Women’s Triathlon was held yesterday, with Lillian Phillips from New Waldensia winning gold in the event. Lucia Garrido from Gagium places 13th, with her other teammates placing lower down in the event. Lucia hopes that her team will be able to preform better next games.”

*Footage of the Women’s triathlon at key points, followed by a table of the top 16 athletes*

“In non-game news, the miniature riot staged by a few members of the Gagiumish team outside of one of the Olympic Village’s residential towers was shut down after the First Person Shooter team ran out of Mountain Dew, leaving other athletes thirsty and without the rioting spirit. The Gagiumish Olympiad Committee among others have condemned the bad sportsmanship of some of the team members and have suggested that the riot was based upon their losses, but the ex-rioters insist that the sole motive of the riot was the Olympiad Committee’s poor performance in preparing for the games.”

“Now for an exclusive interview with Anon E. Moose, noted Olympic commentator. Hi Anon, I’m glad you can be here for our morning Olympic coverage. Can you give us a run-down of what’s expected tomorrow?”

“Sure. In the Women’s 100 meter hurdles, it’s my broad estimate that Nadège Dufour will place silver or bronze in the event due to her past performance and times. We all would like a gold, though. I don’t expect Laurine Crevier to place in the top three, though it is very possible that she could either drop or gain a few tenths of a second during the hurdles.”

“I would also like to share my prediction for the Women’s Soccer semifinals. Gagium tied with Furby for first in Group A, though both nations performed better than those in Group B. I believe that Gagium will make it to finals through decisively defeating whoever it plays in semifinals, and has a shot at getting gold in the sport, which we all would love to see play out.”

“For all other sports today, it really depends on a variety of factors, and I don’t think we can predict what’ll happen due to the seemingly random, unpredictable nature of the FCN Olympics. However, one thing is for certain, and that is Gagiumish victory in Wii Sports.”

“Thank you, Anon. It was great to have you. That’s it for our pre-Olympics coverage. Make sure to tune in to Crown News in an hour for live coverage of today’s sports as they play out. Now to Deli Nuance for breaking news regarding the President and the cheese scandal that has split apart the nation - And you’ll want to hear this…”

Post finished, count this Furby for today

This is the cutoff for day 11 RPs. RPs past this point will not count towards the day 12 RP bonus.

FBC Sports Broadcast
Night, day 11

The aerial view of Noorderstein, after being shown for a few seconds, faded into some events of the eleventh day replayed on screen, including two medal ceremonies from when Team Furby Island won gold. This montage then faded into the FBC Sports logo, and the reporters, Martijn Luiken and Petra Lansink.

After introducing themselves, Lansink began, “Today was a slightly more successful day for the Furbish team, though it did not go extremely well.”

“Furby Island won two more gold medals today, but still sits in third on the medal tally, though the gap is closing, and only one hundred fifty three of three hundred medals have been awarded.” replied Luiken.

“Aquatics events did not go well for Furby Island today. In the men’s fifteen hundred meter freestyle swim, no swimmer qualified for the finals.”

“The closest was Whittenberg, who was four seconds behind the eighth place swimmer. He finished sixth in the second heat, twelfth overall.” The end of that heat was shown. After the first two swimmers, who were five seconds apart, twenty seconds passed before the next group arrived. With the exception of two, who were a fiftieth of a second apart, they were not as close as some of the previous races. Whittenberg came at the end of this group, a second after the near tie. The last place swimmer came ten seconds later. The table of this heat was shown, followed by the table for all swimmers. No Furbishman qualified this race.

“In the women’s race, Iddings and Durgan, sixth and seventh place respectively, will move on to the finals.”

“Iddings swam in the third heat, and finished first there.” The end of that race was shown. Iddings was in the middle of the group, but swam fast ahead, finishing just before another swimmer from San Carlos Islands. The rest were coming in a few seconds later. The table for the heat was then shown.

“Durgan ended second in the second heat. Both have a good chance of earning a medal in the finals tomorrow.” The end of the heat was shown. This time, another swimmer came in first, but Durgan arrived three seconds later. The table of the heat was shown, followed by the table of all swimmers, and which ones placed in the finals.

“Moving on to athletics, the men’s fifteen hundred meter run went well for Furby Island. Lecroy and Newsome both will advance to the finals. They both raced in the first heat, finishing in first and fourth place, respectively.” The last fifty meters of the race were shown. Lecroy and another New Waldensian runner were sprinting, attempting to get to the finish line first. They crossed near simultaneously, but in the corner of the screen it said Lecroy won this race. They were followed shortly by some other runners. Lecroy’s crossing was replayed in slow motion, where it showed him being ahead. The table of this heat was shown, followed by a table of all runners.

“They placed in fourth and twelfth overall. This race was close. The first place runner was far ahead of the rest, ahead of the second place by three fourths of a second. The rest were within under three seconds of each other. The fifteenth and sixteenth place runners were within a hundredth of a second of each other.”

“The next event is the men’s hurdles, semifinals and finals.”

“Atherton and Hotchkiss raced in the second heat and moved on to the finals. The former was in second place in this heat and overall, and a hundredth of a second from first.” The entire race was shown. After the pistol fired, the eight runners took off, jumping together over the hurdles. One of the runners got stuck in the middle and fell over, while the rest moved on as if nothing happened, then crossed the finish line. The last few meters were replayed, followed by the table of the heat, then all the hurdlers.

“He did better in the finals. He finished in first, a twenty-fifth of a second behind the second place runner.” The entire race was shown, this time with none of the hurdlers falling. Once again, a slow motion replay was shown, followed by the table. Atherton was then shown accepting a gold medal, then standing in the center of a podium while the Furbish and New Waldensian flags were raised to the Furbish national anthem.

“Medals were awarded in the next two events, but the results were more disappointing. In the men’s triple jump, despite all five Furbish athletes making it to the finals, none of them placed in the top three. Atkinson, who is in fourth, was only three centimeters from third place.”

“Results were not as good in the high jump either. Bulmer and Byrns, the two Furbish athletes in the finals, both did not make it past 2.29 meters. The third place jumper was above them by only seven centimeters.” For both of the events, all the Furbish athletes’ jumps were shown, followed by a graphic of how well all athletes did, then the tables, and medal ceremonies.

“There has been some better luck in the women’s athletics events. All five Furbish runners made it to the finals in the five kilometer run. Heinrichs even placed in fourth, second in her heat.” The end of the heat was shown, followed by a table with the reults of it and the entire race.

“In the women’s hurdles, two more Furbish runners qualified. Bedsole finished third in the first heat, and barely made it to the top sixteen, only a fiftieth of a second from seventeenth place.”

“Archer did better, finishing second in the second heat, and fourth overall.” For both heats, the entire race was shown. After the race, the table for their respective heats, then the entire event, was onscreen.

“In the long jump preliminaries, Newbrough ended in first place. Wolske ended in tenth. The first and twelfth place jumpers are about a third of a meter apart, so anything can happen in the finals.”

“In the women’s pole vault, two Furbish pole vaulters, Barbosa and Dahl, made the qualifying mark of 4.6 meters. Another, Letarte, made it in the top twelve.”

“The women’s discus throw did not go well for Furby Island, however. Deakins, the only Furbish thrower, did well, but did not place in the top three.”

“She was just over half a meter from third place.”

“The final athletics event is the women’s javelin throw preliminary, where Furby Island well again.”

“Flower got in fourth, only six centimeters under under third place, and about two meters under first. We believe she will do well in the finals.”

“Booker got in twelfth, and will also participate.” In all the athletics events, throws and jumps of the Furbish athletes were shown. A graphic of the results from all athletes in each event was then shown, then the table.

“Moving on from athletics, today was the gold medal final for women’s basketball and men’s football.”

“The basketball team lost the match against San Carlos Islands. The latter was an extremely strong team. The Furbish team exceeded all expectations by even making it this far.” Highlights of the game were shown, followed by the medal ceremony.

“The men’s football team pulled itself together by the end of the Games. The team scored four goals against San Carlos Islands, missing one. This is impressive, considering the rough start the team had, and how it barely made it past the groups stage.” All five goals of the game were shown, as well as blocks and other highlights. After the end of the game some Furbish spectators tried flooding the fields to celebrate their team. The medal ceremony soon showed. The Furbish team held their gold medals while standing in the center of the podium, and the Furbish flag was being raised overhead to their national anthem.

“With rowing events over, Gelderman’s Wharf will now host the triathlon, marathon swim, and marathon. The women’s triathlon began today.”

“The race has three portions, swimming, cycling, and running. Swimming began at Gelderman’s Wharf and ended at a nearby beach. After that the athletes got on bicycles and raced several laps through the streets of Noorderstein, before getting off and running some more laps through the streets before ending up at the finish line back on the Wharf.” During the description of the events, another aerial view of Noorderstein was on screen, and the route was highlighted, and it was put on the map as it was mentioned.

“The results of the race were disappointing for Furby Island. Nelms, the top racer, who was expected to do well, finished in sixth place.” Parts of the race were shown, including places where Nelms was ahead. But near the end, her position started slipping, until she was in sixth, about a minute after the first place triathlete.

“In men’s beach volleyball, Furby Island did well again. Stgermain and Mohamed won a match against a Novo Abrahamian team, while Fausto and Semon won a game against a West Phoenician game, both over two sets.” Highlights of both games were shown.

“Both teams will be playing each other in two days in the semifinals.”

“Hutchinson and Philbeck, on the other hand, lost their game, though this won was close, going to three sets.” Highlights of this game were shown. After that, a bracket of all eight beach volleyball teams was put on screen, and it showed which ones will advance.

“The final medal event today is men’s indoor volleyball. The Furbish team won a game against Novo Abrahamia, putting them in first place in group B. Furby Island will be playing Aeternitatia in the semifinals, and we wish them the best of luck.” Some highlights of the game were shown, followed by the table of the three group B teams.

“As said before, Furby Island is third in the medal tally, and with just over half the medals awarded, anything can change in the next five days. We wish Team Furby Island good luck in future events.” The medal tally was put on screen.

The reporters spent some time going over the demonstration events, before wishing the audience a good night and closing the broadcast.

Could this even be possible? The West Phoenician basketball men's team The Scorpions have made it to the gold medal final.
After placing first in their grouping with 3 wins and no losses the Scorpions were thrust into the Semi-Finals to play against Gagium.
The Scorpions have never had the best run in Basketball, they had entered the International Basketball tournament, where they crashed and burned upon each year. On one of those occasion three members of the team refused to play, rather kneeling courtside to protest The West Phoenician law; 'Let them eat cake act' which allows or econonic segregation in a number of city-states in West Phoenicia.

Whole zones of residential and commercial set apart for people of a certain economic standing in the community. It was seen by many left wing political parties as discrimination against the poor with the rich and the bourgeois classes lording it over the poor and uneducated.
Ms Martina Rose, President of the Segregation Party which was a huge sponsor of the bill and its ideals had scoffed at the notion when it was said in Congress. 'It is a right for the rich to have segregated zones to go about their shopping, exclusive dining establishments, hospitals and schools. They pay extra tax for thst entitlement. We are not anti-proletariat. They are allowed in these zones to clean our houses and wait our tables. So to suggest no one from the lower classes ventures into these zones is ludicrous.
Many West Phoenician sporting teams were so split on this law, with some supporting it and others accusing it of bigotry. That is why this three Scorpion plays prptested that day, as they felt it infringed on their rights to have poor people share the same basketball court and drinking from the same water bubblers.

Much of the news hitting Newspapers and Social media were about the teams antics which aisde from public protests also included drunk and disorderly infractions against them.
"All that is in the past now," says Point Forward Ezekiel Lucknow, we have a new generation of players in the team. Alot of the hard core drama seeking players have moved on.

Has the transformation of the team been a changing factor in their recent success? The Summer Olympic Games in The Free Republics showed that the team had improved, while they were knocked out in the Round of 16, their ability to reach that level had old fans returning to support the team.
So when The Scorpions took on Gagium in the semi-finals, the stands were the of supporters from both sides, cheering their nation on. It was definitely a very competitive amd tight game between both. With Gagium finishing on 77 to West Phoenicia's 79. The two point's gained simply because in the last minute of the game a player from Gagium has gotten a foul on Ezekiel Lucknow as launched to slam dunk the ball, the foul that awarded him two free throws, winning West Phoenicia the gsme and moving them onto the gold medal final where they will take on San Carlos Island.

In other First Federation of Conservative Nations Olympiad news, 100m womens hurdler Tanya Horne who narrowly missed out on a bronze medal by a mere milliseconds against team Rowena Debney slammed a number of other hurdlers involved in the race, suggesting they were in fact trans and should be going up against men and not real women.
A number of senators from The West Phoenician Rainbow Party; a political party in West Phoenicia that advocates for increased rights for the LGBTI+ community has criticized Ms Thorne for her transphobic comments and she is there to jump and not run and not use the platform to attack and discriminate.

Tanya Thorne slung back at the senator via her social media, saying she did not have a fear of trans people. They just had no place in sports if they were playing for their new gender of choice.
It created an unfair advantage. If they want to participate they need to enter based on their birth gender. She went on to slam the Rainbow Party for attacking people who had a different opinion.
Everyone is allowed their opinion and when you spew out words like bigot and transphobic, you are not looking for open dialogue, you are just looking to control the thoughts and opinions of everyone by shutting down individual thought.

With four days remaining for the First Federation of Conservative Nations Olympiad, West Phoenician Olympic Committee President Baroness Flora Freeman has called on athletes to dig deeper. West Phoenicia currently has 39 medals, a goal before the games had the West Phoenician Olympic Committee set a target for 50 medal; the nation is 11 medals away, and looking at the events that remains there is a strong chance the target will be met. With Mens Basketball resulting in either a gold or a silver medal, West Phoenician sports anaylsts are looking at areas were West Phoenicians can pick up medals, gymnastics, athletics, volleyball and swimming are the four sports where West Phoenicia has high chances of winning.
Baroness Baroness Flora Freeman always thanks Third wife of Emperor Glenton Gryphon-Bush II, Cleopatra-Olympias for her continual attendance at these games. The Empress and her large delegation have attended as many events as possible, cheering on the athletes and spending time with fans.

Noorderstein, Furby Island
Night; Day 12

On day 10 of the Summer Olympics the intro that the daily San Carlos TV (SCTV) sports broadcast, covering all the insides and outs of the San Carlos Islands National Olympic team introduced yesterday was shown again today. A video montage of all the highlights of the day quickly flashed cross the screen and then faded into a cut of the SCTV logo overshadowing the city of Noorderstein. As that disappeared cameras overlooking a platform with a large desk on top of it where nightly hosts Foster Hayley and Kennedy Hayward where sitting. There would be an interview today with Green Party Activist and San Carlos Islands feminist Dwain Hodges.

Foster started the show "Hello and a good late afternoon to everyone watching tonight's broadcast of SCTV Sports Olympic Recap where we're we talk about the good, the bad, and of course the ugly of these Summer Olympics in Noorderstein, Furby Island, coverage in Russian can be found on CKT. I'm Foster Hayley. - Today we will interview Green Party Activist and San Carlos Islands feminist Dwain Hodges..."

Foster paused and looked up confused, Dwain was a scruffy and ill-shaven MAN who smelled of weed.

He looked down at his notes, coughed and continued. "Dwain Hodges who is a Green Party Activist and San Carlos Islands feminist?" He looked at Dwain and refused to shake his hand...

Nor did Kennedy, who started the interview. "So Dwain, you're obviously a man... How did you become a feminist; and to our audience, don't tune out, we will show you in time how this all tunes into the Olympics."

Dwain started speaking in a queer-ish voice. "Well Kennedy, I'm gay and like women, I've been oppressed all my life by structural homophobia and sexism, that's why I joined the Green Party to become an activist and that's how I became an ally of the female community and thus, a feminist."

Foser wide-eyed said "Great, great. So why are you on the show today?"

The camera turned to Dwain. "We'll the executives at SCTV wanted me on the show, so I just flew to this country to do just that! HAHA, just kidding Foster! I'm here because I'm here to show that women are just as good if not better as men at athletics and that our country needs to drop it's sexist perception of sports."

Foster smirked. 'Right, and how's that?"

Dwain smiled. "Well Foster, it's actually quite simple. The San Carlos Islands women at these Olympics keep out preforming the men! Wooo Hooo! You go girls! HAHA... So yeah, you just have to look at the medal count to see that as they have about 65% of the medals. If men we're better than women, the Men's team would have more!"

Foster trying not to laugh responded. "So Dwain, are there any other reasons for that other than just 'Women are athletically superior?'"

Dwain responded with a straight face. "No."

Foster tried not to crack up us Kennedy swooped in to save him. "So Dwain, with this information in hand, what should the people watching do with it? How to they become allies and how do they end sexism in sports?"

Dwain smiled. "Well Kennedy it's quite simple, we have to first get rid of structural sexism. That means equal pay and services for female athletes as well as taking the even bigger step of telling all men not to be so sexist! Next we have to #EMPOWER young girls and women and trans females to participate in sports and prove to them that they're just as good, if not BETTER than the boys! Because of this we can have sexual equality in sporting events!"

Kennedy responded. "Thank you Dwain, very cool! I hope you can accomplish this task."

"I hope to as well Kennedy! #GirlPower!"

He left the set and the program moved into a commercial break.

-

Foster opened the rest of the show with a huge grin on his face tears rolling down his eyes; So Kennedy, your thoughts about today?"

"Well Foster. I think today was absolutely abhorrent! Our athletes played sloppy, we won ZERO medals. What the heck happened and how do we fix it?"

The camera turned to Foster. "Well Kennedy, you're absolutely correct. First Women's swimmers Amy Becket and Doroteja Petrova failed to place in the Women's 800m finals. And it wasn't even close! They got slaughtered, both being behind by more than a second!"

Kennedy interjected. "And then we watched the Women's Water Polo where the San Carlos Islands lost to Novo Abrahamia six to nine. Yeah they'll be playing for the bronze tomorrow against West Phoenicia, but come on girls!"

Then focus was back to Foster. "Later in the day during the athletic events Nevena Konstantinova didn't place in the Women's Long Jump Finals, and Dejan Franic failed to place in the Men's Triathlon. So yes. Kennedy it's been a terrible day.

"You're forgetting something Foster."

"Am I?"

"Yes Women's beach Volleyball. All our teams except one failed to advance."

"Well that sucks. Where there any winners?"

"Well staying on the topic of Women's beach volleyball Kennedy Goldy and Valaria Pavlova will advance, HOPEFULLY they can do well and win two more games so we can get a medal out of this event."

The camera turned back to Foster. "In addition to the Kennedy Goldy and Valaria Pavlova Women's beach volleyball team. The Women's Indoor Volleyball scored another win today, they'll be advancing to semifinals undefeated. Damon MacClelland and Kenyon Paris will be advancing in to the finals in the Men's 5000m Run, Barrfind Everly will be advancing to the men's Men's Javelin Throw after securing the top preliminary sport int hat event with a 80.95 point go, Georg Sneiders and Barrfind Everly will be advancing in the Men's Hammer Throw, and probably most important; The San Carlos Islands men's Men's Basketball team will be advancing to the finals against West Phoenicia, we really hope they can take home the gold as did the Women's team."

"Well that's good. What can we look forwards to tomorrow?"

"Well Kennedy, there's a lot actually. If anything, the Women's 1x400m relay, this is an event the San Carlos Islands is really looking forwards to compete in since we've put together a stellar team of Matilda Norfolk, Colleen Jones, Eleonora Lagounova, and Nevena Konstantinova. With stars like that we can only hope for a gold."

"Ah, very well so let's not let today get us down, there's PLENTY of opportunity to win medals tomorrow.

Olympic Village
Noorderstein, Furbish Islands

Bélise Robiquet, star swimmer from the Gagiumish heartland and part-time model. She grew up in Kansas with her family miles away from the nearest notable town, though when they moved to Nouveau Loire (West Texas...) at the age of 13 due to the again-booming oil industry, she took up something she never would’ve thought of - Swimming. Bélise was good at it, too - She reached her state finals within two years of swimming, and by 16 Bélise won at the Gagiumish Junior Olympics.

Her talent soon attracted various groups and sponsors from across the nation as well as the Gagiumish Olympiad Committee, looking to begin revamping itself after a string of devastating losses and underfunding. Nearly immediately after Bélise graduated from high school, she signed on to partake in the next Olympics during college. She looked forward to this - But the opportunity didn’t come. When her father died weeks before her scheduled departure, she knew that she couldn’t go on and swim.

But she loved swimming, and she, after months of isolation from the sport, decided to get back in it for her father. So, after graduating from college with a degree to enter the oil industry, she decided to attempt to qualify for the Olympics, specifically the 10-kilometer marathon. And she did, with flying colors.

This was all irrelevant, though. Bélise sat at a table in the cafe, quietly munching down on her breakfast. She checked the time - 4:57 AM. Fantastic, she thought, as she got herself a coffee and sipped it in between reading the Noorderstein’s local English newspaper. The Furbish loved to win, and that was made very apparent by the paper’s headline and contents...Gold gold gold. Maybe next games the Olympiad Committee will be able to send more athletes for Gagium.

She blinked. 5:13 already? Bélise groaned. She checked her watch for a reason, though, and the commotion going outside soon dawned on her. Bélise rolled the window shades up and looked outside. A cargo truck for some soda company was outside, with a group of untidy young adults - Who she deduced to be nobody short of the FPS team - lugging crate after crate of Mountain Dew and Monster Energy out of the truck.

Looks like they’re going to be holding another riot, she thought. Might as well join them after the marathon. Hell, GamerWatch might even cover it. But it dawned on her again from experience that swimming 10 kilometers drains you..Bélise left the cafe and sat down in the couch her room provided. She grabbed the TV remote and turned on a dramatic Furbish television show of some sort in English. While Bélise knew both English and French with ease, French would’ve been preferable for anything. She wondered if some of the more abstract countries that sent athletes to Noorderstein got translations of shows and media in their languages...

Fast forward a few hours of effectively nothing, it was still morning, but Bélise Robiquet was standing alongside rows of swimmers from nations such as the San Carlos Islands, Aeternitatia, New Waldensia, and..everyone knows..the usuals. The countries that, however small or large their populations, had the funding to send athletes in every single event.

Next thing Bélise knew, she was swimming alongside these athletes, sticking her head up and back into the water, arms moving and legs kicking the water back. A few - Few? - more kilometers to go.

(OOC: I thought I had this when I saw I entered a 99 athlete in here, then look at the roster and SCI has a 100 and Aet has another 99 in here. Ugh, West Phoenicia also has a 100 in here? What’s so special about the 10-kilometer marathon guys...9:59 gg)

This is the cutoff for day 12 RPs. RPs past this point will not count towards the day 13 RP bonus.

FBC Sports Broadcast
Night, day 12

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, this is the nightly Olympic recap on FBC Sports, teporting live from Noorderstein. I am Petra Lansink.”

“And I am Martijn Luiken. Today Team Furby Island has seen a better day in the Games than the previous few.”

“Starting off with the women’s eight hundred meter freestyle swim, Durgan finished in third place, only fractions of a second after second.”

“The next few followed her closely, apart by only a second.”

“In the semifinals for women’s water polo, Furby Island won a close game against West Phoenicia, by a single point scored at the end of the game. The team will be moving on to the gold medal final against Novo Abrahamia. Both are strong teams, though Furby Island is expected to win the game.”

“Athletics today saw some good luck for team Furby Island.”

“Beginning with the five kilometer run, there, the Furbish performance was not as well. Two Furbish runners qualified to the finals in the event, but did not place very well.”

“Ruland finished sixth in the first heat, and thirteenth overall. He was nearly nine and a half seconds behind the first place runner, and under a second behind the sixteenth place, who did not qualify.”

“Singler did better, finishing seventh in the second heat and eleventh overall, under six and a half seconds ahead of the first place runner.”

“The men’s steeplechase on the other hand, went extremely well. Brawley finished in first place, in a close race.”

“The top three were just over half a second apart, and a second and a half ahead of fourth place. Brawley won the race by two fifths of a second.”

“In the javelin throw, four Furbish throwers qualified to the finals. Some threw further apart than others, but all within just over three meters of the first place thrower.”

“In the hammer throw, two Furbish throwers, Redfern and Dubrey, qualified. Not only that, but they are in the top three. But it should be noted, if the Games proved anything so far, spots in preliminaries are inversely correlated with spots in the finals.”

“The men’s decathlon, an event combining ten different athletics events, took place today, and will finish tomorrow.”

“After the first event, the hundred meter sprint, two Furbish decathletes came up on top. Simonton in third, and Youngman in fifth. Both have good chances of winning the event.”

“Unfortunately, in the long jump, the next event, Simonton’s three jumps were fouls, and he scored zero points for this round, losing any hope of him winning.”

“Youngman got in fifth after this event, and still has a shot.”

“In the shot put, he did worse, ending in tenth place. Then, in the high jump, he finished in third, at 2.11 meters.”

“The final event is the four hundred meter sprint, where once again Youngman did not do well, finishing in fourteenth.”

“Youngman sits in fifth after the first day of the decathlon. He is not far behind some of the other decathletes, and has a chance of winning a medal in the event. But he is not far ahead of some other athletes either.”

“Only two women’s athletics events took place today, first, the hundred meter hurdles.”

“Bedsole and Archer both raced in the second semifinal, finishing first and third respectively. Overall, they sit in second and sixth. They both moved on to the finals.”

“In the finals, they did even better. Bedsole finished in first, Archer in second. The second through fourth place hurdlers finished milliseconds apart, to the point that we slowed the replay down more than we usually do to clearly show the winner.”

“Despite the good luck in the hurdles, this did not carry over to the long jump. The two Furbish jumpers did not place in the top three.”

“There always seems to be a lot going on with athletics. However, more events do exist.”

“Indeed. After the men’s football team’s victory yesterday, the women’s team did not seem to play as well in the semifinals. The team lost to Paleoconservative Citizens, missing a single goal near the end of the game.”

“The team will go up against Ferlik in two days in the bronze medal final.”

“The next event is the men’s triathlon, where once again the athletes race through the streets of Noorderstein for almost two hours.”

“Furby Island did better today, and Bornstein finished in second place, six and a half seconds behind first, and four ahead of second.”

“Women’s beach volleyball went extremely well for Furby Island. In the quarterfinals, both Furbish teams won over the course of three sets.”

“Sonnenberg and Carnahan defeated a New Waldensian team, and will play against a team from San Carlos Islands.”

“Sweetman and Barnhardt on the other hand defeated a team from San Carlos Islands. The game was close at times, especially in the last set. However, they won by getting the required fifteen points, and two points ahead of the other team.”

“The final event is women’s indoor volleyball, where once again Furby Island did well. The team defeated West Phoenicia.”

“This is the final matchday, and with the game, Furby Island sits in second, In two days, the team will go up against Gagium in the semifinal.”

“After winning two golds, Furby Island is back to second place in the medal tally, and now only two medals away from San Carlos Islands.”

“Furby island did not do as well in the demonstration events. Chess, baseball, and American football have been finished, so there are fewer events there. But there are still more left to cover.”

“The finals for men’s light heavyweight chessboxing was played today. Schimmel, a Furbish chessboxer, won the round after checkmating his opponent.”

“There were worse results in the women’s mediumweight semifinals. Vrabel lost a game after being knocked out, and she will move on to the third place finals.”

“The last event is Wii Sports. The game was chosen as a demonstration event due to its popularity, and various gamers competed in all five events.”

“The highest placing Furbishmen are Bourdeau and Koelling, in fifth and sixth place respectively. Both were not too far off from first place.”

“Finally, some events to look forward to tomorrow.”

“Only fifteen medals will be awarded tomorrow. But in the final three days, over a third of the remaining medals will start pouring in.”

“The ten meter platform will begin, starting with the women’s preliminary round. The four hundred meter butterfly heats will also begin.”

“The largest aquatics event, the women’s marathon swim, will begin at Gelderman’s Wharf.”

“The men’s and women’s four by one hundred meter relay heats will begin, and so will the preliminaries for women’s high jump.”

“Women’s javelin throw and men’s fifteen hundred meter run will have their finals tomorrow. Men’s shot put will have both heats and finals, and decathlon will have its second day.”

“Seems strange jumping immediately from the beginning to end of the alphabet, but the men’s indoor and beach volleyball semifinals will also be played tomorrow.”

“For the demonstration events, both men’s lightweight and women’s heavyweight chessboxing will have their semifinals, and so will women’s underwater hockey.”

“And finally, the first of three days for Wii Sports Resort will be played tomorrow.”

“There has also been some strange news from Noorderstein once again. A group of people have been sacraficing rubber chickens to a goddess they call Margaret, who they claim decides who wins and loses in the Games.”

“Following the recent victory in men’s football, and better luck today, the group has grown, and have bought out several stores’ supplies of rubber chickens. They claim that sacrificing these rubber chickens is what helps Furby Island win.”

“We thank you all for tuning in to the nightly Olympic recap. This has been Martijn Luiken.”

“And Petra Lansink from FBC Sports.”

“Good night.”

Somewhere outside the Olympic Village
Noorderstein, Furbish Islands

Day 13 of the Olympics were over for Bélise Robiquet, who had just gotten off with a silver in the 10-kilometer marathon. She was surprised at how quickly two hours of swimming felt, and yet she also felt that it took forever...Stroke after stroke, motion after motion, and you've moved a few more yards in the pool with over an hour to go. Fast forward to hundreds of times of this being repeated, thousands even, and Bélise reached the end of her tenth kilometer. Two hours of swimming, 7,170 seconds, and she and her opponents, Amira Overlock from the Furbish Islands and Augustyna Fabre from Aeternitatia, finished at nearly the exact same time. After a short period of review, it was revealed that Amira won first while Augustyna got bronze, with Bélise Robiquet narrowly getting second. This was something she could approve of, a win desperately needed by the nation.

And yet, if she just pushed herself a tad bit more, she could've gotten gold - The nation's third this games..Whatever. Bélise took the won and graciously accepted the medal. She was happy to be standing on the podium after two hours of swimming, and was exhausted despite being surrounded by water for the entirety of those two hours - Which would give you some nasty wrinkles. Bélise left the swimming complex (That coincidentally is also the ocean...) and sat down at a nearby restaurant, eating a small meal and drinking some coffee before boarding a bus back to the Olympic Village. She hung her head back, closing her eyes to quicken the supposedly-short ride back to the village.

But it wasn't short. The ride quickly stopped among a horde of Furbish cars and automobiles, as well as other stopped buses and vehicles. Bélise opened her eyes, wondering what the hold-up was among constant honks of the cars. People had begun getting out of the buses, recognizing that it was quicker to walk than wait this insufferable traffic though. But honestly, what was causing this traffic? What..

She decided to find out. By now, with the bus looking significantly more empty, Bélise hauled herself out of her seat and began walking along the aisle, thanking the bus driver as she got out. Bélise saw rows of cars behind her and to the lane next to the bus just sitting there, with people already having gotten out of their cars, looking forward. Inaudible chanting could also be heard. Bélise Robiquet turned around to face the direction of the traffic, when she saw it. Hordes of people blocking the highway, with a steady stream of people moving from their cars to gaze at the sight. She walked closer to make out what was occurring, and saw that the rioters had placed cones on the highway with signs reading "PROTEST AGAINST THE OLYMPICS" in english, french, and dutch.

The chanting became audible as she approached - "NO MORE! PROTEST AGAINST THE OLYMPICS! NEW HOST, NEW HOST!" A number of pop-up tents were also set up, with people from the buildings by the road standing outside watching. Bélise figured that she was close enough to the Olympic Village to just walk there, though, so she began attempting to walk through the ever-chanting crowd. She noticed that there were a small number of Gagiumish athletes among the crowd, though the protesters mainly consisted of disenchanted tourists from Gagium (and other nations? You guys can send some people).

Despite the crowd not being large at all, Bélise saw what most people were actually there for - The Gagiumish FPS team and their tent. Through the experience of two hours of swimming kilometers, she faintly remembered her encounter with the FPS team unloading soda out of that truck earlier. It all added up. A banner hung on the side of the pop-up tent read "FURBISH FPS TEAM, 1V1 US TOMORROW NOON OLYMPIC VILLAGE" in english and dutch, and crates of soda were stacked behind the tent with a box full of cash on a table staffed by the FPS team. Gagiumish athletes in uniform (Mostly the gamers) were horded behind the tent, with tourists and Furbish citizens alike asking to get interviews or coming for the extremely-cheap soda and doritos (Which they had shipped the day before).

With a line already amassing at the FPS team tent and some reporters from Gagiumish media (and other Furbish media? I'd want to cover this) arriving on scene, Bélise Robiquet decided that it'd probably be best if she wasn't around for much longer, and began walking out of the crowd, leaving the chanting and commotion behind her.

(OOC: I'll post more about this protest/riot, you guys can have some athletes/tourists/people join in if you want cheap RP bonus and to have some fun tearing the city apart...heh)

Noorderstein, Furby Island
Night; Day 13
On day 10 of the Summer Olympics the intro that the daily San Carlos TV (SCTV) sports broadcast, covering all the insides and outs of the San Carlos Islands National Olympic team introduced yesterday was shown again today. There would be an interview today with San Carlos Islands Women's gymnists Viktoriya Atanasova and Katie Van Slooten.

- Today we will interview San Carlos Islands Women's gymnists Viktoriya Atanasova and Katie Van Slooten who are both Women's Artistic Gymnastics All Round Team gold medalists.

Foster looked up and smiled. "Welcome Katie and of course, welcome back Viktoriya, It's always good having you here."

They both smiled and thanked Foster and Kennedy for having them.

Kennedy started the interview. "So girls, it's been a while since you've competed. Are you both well rested?"

They looked at each other and back at the two SCTV Sports hosts, Katie answered that question. "So yeah, we've been free of the drag competing is for some time now and it's really helped us compose ourselves again as we prepare for the, 'finales' may I, of these Olympics. Yeah, we've had a drill here and there, we have to stay in shape, but overall the past few days have really been nice and have allowed us to reflect on our routine and rebuild our strength."

Foster worked his way into the conversation. "So yes, speaking of tomorrow, that's of course the start of individual events, how do you reckon you will do?"

Viktoriya stepped in. "Well Foster, I think we will do very well. I think every lady here from the San Carlos Islands participating in these events have what it takes to be gold metal Olympians. Hell, we've already shown the world we can do it, that's why we have gold medals; it's just a matter of preforming with as much heart and grit as we did during that event which we all plan to do!"

"Very well!" Replied Foster as Kennedy took over. "So girls, not to be the Debbie downer of tonight, but we have to address the elephant in the room. During the All-round individuals this entire team advanced to finals, but none of you placed. What went wrong and what measures are you taking to ensure it won't happen again?"

Viktoriya answered. "I think we were too full of ourselves. We came of our gold medal win in the Team All-Rounds and then subsequently all moved onto the finals of the Individuals. We thought we were untouchable, invincible even. We we're proven wrong. I think we learned a lot about that experience and are ready to clearly look forwards to the future without any 'rose-tinted glasses.' We have to preform like we're down in the point count. Like there's no tomorrow!"

"Fantastic" replied Kennedy! "Good luck! We hope you all do great, and we hope you can bring home some more medals!"

"Good luck ladies!" Said Foster with a smile. "Watch these fine San Carlos Islands gymnists preform tomorrow, right here on SCTV Sports, you know we'll be covering that!"

The girls left the set and the program moved into a commercial break.

-

The camera turned to Foster Hayley who smiled. "Well lads! Let's get right into it! Yesterday wasn't the best day, no one is disputing that. Today wasn't the best day either but I think we redeemed ourselves. Kennedy?"

"I agree Foster. We only won two medals today, eh... Both were in the same event, however I believe that two medals are better than the zero the San Carlos Islands took home yesterday. That event, was the Women's Javelin Throw where Cara Garbutt took home the Gold for the Commonwealth and Matilda Norfolk took home the Bronze."

The camera turned back to Foster! "Very well Kennedy! Its also important to note that we're STILL on top the the medal count with twenty-eight medals, fourteen of witch are gold medals, two ahead of Furby Island's twelve. It's just a matter about if we can hold out until day sixteen or not."

Kennedy smiled. "Hopefully we can Foster, hopefully we can!" She paused. "Now onto recognizing the Commonwealth's other various winners of the day. First; Mila Horvat and Hanna Van Houtum who will be advancing to the semifinals of the Women's 10m Platform diving event with scores of 346.90 and 311.00 respectively."

Foster chipped in. "Next, San Carlo Islands swimmers Doroteja Petrova and Helene Spannagel will be advancing to the Women's 400m Butterfly finals. Petrova tied for 1st in the semifinals with 400m Butterfly time of 4:31.86 while edged slightly behind in eighth place with a time of 4:32.18."

Foster paused. "Next, the San Carlos Islands placed 5th in the Men's 4x100m Relay, a team of athletic stars; Dobroslav Kokot, York Dean, Mark Van Arendonk, and Pétur Krämer, securing them a spot in the finals.

Focus turned to Kennedy. "Finally, turning to the sister event of the Men's 4x100m relay, that's of course the Women's 1x400 relay, team Matilda Norfolk, Colleen Jones, Eleonora Lagounova, and Nevena Konstantinova came in eighth in the preliminary, just BARELY edging out a spot to advance to the finals."

The camera turned back to Foster who gathered his notes and smiled. "Well lads, here's what you can look forwards to for day fourteen."

He took a quick pause. "Gymnastics will be in full swing again with the finals for the Men's pommel horse, the Men's floor, the Women's vault, and the Women's uneven bar."

Kennedy smirked and continued. "There will also be some good athletics events such as the Women's pole vault and the Women's 4x100m relay as well as the Men's 4x100m relay and the Men's hammer throw."

Foster finished. "Finally there will be some good aquatic events like the Women's water polo bronze medal finals and the Women's 400m butterfly finals."

"A lot to see. I'm Kennedy Hayward."

"And like always I'm Foster Hayley. thanks for tuning into this special broadcast of SCTV Sports. Good night and godspeed to the San Carlos Olympic Team from SCTV, providing English broadcasting to the Commonwealth for nearly 40 years."

The Camera had both of them in the center as they pulled out green, white, and blue flags and shouted "GO TEAM SCI"

Princess fails to bring home medal

A large crowd of fans turned out at the First Federation of Conservative Nations Olympiad for the women's marathon swim where Princess Bonita Gryphon-Bush Philopater was swimming for her country.

The 17 year Princess is the daughter of Emperor Glenton Gryphon-Bush II and his first wife Queen Angelique, a first distant cousin. She is the 6th child overall out of the 13 siblings by the polygamous royal family where the Emperor has three wives. She currently sits 4th in the Line of succession but has made it known she would never want to be queen.

Growing up in the West Phoenician Empire she has a life of luxury, surrounded by opulence, decadence and servants at her beck. She enjoyed moving around to the four mega palace complexes depending on the season with royal governess to care for her and tutors to educate her. And stated her favourite palace was the Spring Palace, as the vast gardens bloomed a rainbow of flowers and the scent of the apple and peach trees would float into her rooms at night.
From a young age she had a passion for dance, equestrian, swimming and poetry.
Like all royal children she was encouraged to take up a sport, not just for fitness but to also lead the way and inspire others.
Many members of the West Phoenician royal family had taken part in international sports, and she would too.
Princess Bonita took swimming on board for the sport she wanted to represent the nation in.

The best swimming coaches were brought in to give her the best chance, by training her in a variety of disciplines. Her endurance and ability to power through over longer swimming events pushed the Princess into long distance swimming. She was already proving a powerhouse in 100m and 200m that she continued to push herself, finding marathon swimming to be an area she enjoyed.
Long distance swimming allowed her the opportunity to be alone with her thoughts and was a bigger challenge.

Winning a number of national titles, Princess Bonita first qualified for the 10km marathon at the Summer Olympic Games in The Free Republics. To everyone's surprise she pulled in gold at those Olympics.
At the World Aquatics Championship she did not finish in the Open water swimming - Women's 25 km which was blamed on illness.
Entering the First Federation of Conservative Nations Olympiad many sports analysts had her pegged as a medal winner for these games, throwing off the loss at the World Aquatics Championship as a misfortune.
Unfortunately, she was not going to win gold, it was a poor start for the Princess who ended up placing 13th in what was a very narrow race for the bulk of the swimmers where 17 entries all finish around the 1.59 mark.
There were many looks of disappointment from the fans who had turned out that one of their favourite members of the Royal Family failed to not only place but was not even in the top 10, leading many to wonder if she will just be a one trick pony.

In other Olympic Games news; the Men's Indoor Volleyball team defeated New Waldensia in three straight sets in the semi-finals. In a major first for the team they will be progressing to their first ever finals, where they wl compete against Furby Island for their chance to win their first ever gold medal. Blake Thomas; captain of the team dubbed 'The Spikers' said it has been an amazing journey, we never knew we would reach this fat. Win or lose we are winners, but it will be amazing to have a gold med to our name.

Pro- Apartheid West Phoenician swimmer Kylie Stuart who made headlines when she questioned swimming alongside swimmers lower economic standings and is a supporter of the West Phoenician law 'Let them eat cake which supports economic segregation found herself back in the pool today.
Kylie Stuart who first swam in the 100m Freestyle and crashed and burned by ending up in last spot was back in the pool in one of her favourite events, the 400m butterfly. Miss Stair redeemed herself by swimming 4.32.01 in the heats, a time that pushed her into the finals and upset team mate Margie Brixton who found herself going home medal less when she failed to qualify for the finals.
"It's really not fair, I have been training all my life, I have never hurt a flea and I lose against a racist bigot."
Margie Brixton will head off to the World Aquatics Championship to compete in the butterfly event. Where she hopes she so place and take home a medal for her efforts.
Margie Brixton has not been the only swimmer to face disappoint, these games have produced only four medals in the swimming event. A poor result thst will be closely analysed once all members of the Swimming Federation return to West Phoenicia.
