Kormooc 1-2 Kyzikstan
Ben Abdel (KOR) '34
Sroko (KYZ) '14
Oletska (KYZ) '82
Possession: 52% - 48%
Shots on Target: 3-2
Match Day 1 of the third and final round brought upon some very interesting match ups. Including Eestin-Lekklun, Arcpecha-Skuwal, and a few others. Considering this was an EMTA member vs a CSTO member, todays match in Takar was probably the most interesting of all. War torn Kyzikstan was given Hajji Vigel Stadium for round two following the rise of the Carpathigrad Conflict, where Kyzikstan performed well in, winning 2 of their 3 home games. After Kyzikstan's second place finish in group 4, the Kormoocan Football Association agreed to led them the stadium for the third round. Kormocc and Kyzikstan were drawn together in group 4, and with no one else offering their stadium, the KFA left the stadium to both teams. Now here we are today, a few minutes after the final whistle blew.
The game, for the most part, wasn't very interesting however. There were only 5 shots on target the whole match. Worst of all for the Kormooc fans, Kyzikstan had warmed up to the stadium, almost like a second home. And Kormooc was left picking up the dust in their own stadium. With it 1-1 at the break, following goals by Kyzikstan's Kilaya Sroko and Kormooc's Waqqas Ben Abdel, both team talks had probably the same "we can't lose at home." feel to them. This didn't help, as Kormooc fans were booing there own team for their performance against a team which they think should be easy to beat, considering Kormooc's record as hosts, and knockout stage contenders in previous cups. And Kyzikstan may get even better, as they play 6 of their 10 matches in Hajji Vigel Stadium, and they have 5 left.
