MD4 Scores - Groups 7-11
RP Prompt: Eastfield Lodge suffers a huge blackout, affecting most cities in the country, on the night before the fifth matchday, and continuing into the morning. How is your team affected? Does this ruin their evenings, making them cranky for the next game, or do they get a better night's sleep than usual? How about your fans? How do they cope without their creature comforts, and how will they generate the atmosphere in the stadiums without any electricity?
NOTE: You're not required to follow the RP Prompt, and if you have other ideas then go with them. This is just to help create RP ideas in case you don't have any and doesn't boost your RP Bonus score any more or less than a normal RP would. [i]

[excerpt from the New Castle Tribune]
Laddies and Gents, it is done!

At last, the Maximusian National Team accomplished what they have made their goal to achieve since Game #1: Beat Tiger Sharkistan. Boy, did they ever beat them! A 5-0 blowout. On this roller coaster ride that has been the Group Stages of the BoF, it seems things might finally be looking up for the MNT.

The game started off with an almost instant goal from Brookshire. He literally drove the ball up and kicked it in without ever changing direction. It was at that moment that the Tiger Skarkistanians should have known that their time had come. They were already down by 1 in the 5th minute of play!

The first half went swiftly for the Maximusian Team. I would imagine that it couldn't have gone slower for their opponents. They conceded 2 additional points to the unstoppable wall that was the MNT. It was in this half that Posvak received a red card for knocking over a Sharkistanian defender.

"That was an unacceptable and unsportsmanlike act" says Neil Berkley, Maximusian Team, assistant coach, commenting on the carding of Posvak.

In the latter half of the game, we saw 2 fantastic goals scored in the 55th and 80th minutes, respectivly, by Yin Lan and McIntosh. The opposition stood not a chance!

We can only hope that the team can continue the momentum into the upcoming game. They will have to if they want a shot at the knockout phase of this tournament. They will play against Ashaie, the current #4 team for Group #4.

Grod Island ends winning streak

Postby Grod Island » Mon Feb 11, 2019 6:36 pm

THE GRODIAN EXPRESS

Eastfield Lodge:Grod Island ended their three matches winning streak with a 2-2 draw against Dritten Asopie. It was very unexpected because Grod Island had already beaten this team 3-1 earlier.

If Grod Island had won the match, they would have qualified for the next round. "We really did not expect this. We thought we will win. Everyone thought we will win. We are very disappointed" said the team captain Mateo Lopez.

Donald Leopold, who scored a goal in the match said, "That team has learnt the lesson from our first encounter. They played with double the energy and we were really surprised by their performance."

"We have learnt our lesson. We should not underestimate anybody. Not even Geektopia with whom we are playing next. We will do our best." said the team manager Edward Rose.

Donald Leopold and Liam Fletcher had scored both the goals in 2-2 draw against Dritten Asopie. Next the Purple Princes take on Geektopia. We wish the team all the best.

PARLIAMENT STADIUM, EASTFIELD LODGE --

Despite most predictions, Walenstein has repeated it's performance in it's second leg against opponents Alanikka, tieing the match 3-3. Changes made to the lineups on both sides since the two last played each other appeared to not have changed much, with both sides struggling defensivly and conceding many goals in this high-scoring match.

Right from kick off, it was clear we would not have a one-sided match, with both sides playing amazing football.

Other than three bookings, the first half had little action, with few shots on net from either side.

The first yellow card was issued to Hans Gerhardt for tripping up Alanikkan midfielder Felix Clattenburg, and as he recieved one in the previous fixture aswell, he picked up a one match suspension. The second went to Alanikkan defender and captain Yaya Rice for a late challenge slide tackle on Walensteiner CAM Oliver Severin. And lastly, Walensteiner striker Matthias Merten picked up the third booking in the half for knocking Alanikkan striker Chip Monk over with a shove.

Action came minutes into the second half, with Alanikkan striker Cudlies Dangier breaking through Walensteiner defence minutes after kick off and slotting a shot right past keeper Manuel Oswald in the 47th minute of the match, opening scoring for Alanikka.

In the 63rd minute, Alanikkan midfielder Donald Dickinson would win a header in the Walensteiner box, and proceed to head it cleanly past Manuel Oswald to make the game 2-0 Alanikka, providing them their insurance goal.

The general mood amongst Walenstein supporters and players suddenly changed, with supporters singing their songs and clamouring the team on for a goal.

However, right after kick off, Walenstein would instantly respond with a beautiful run through by RB Thilo Winfried, turning beating all Alanikkan defenders on a 45 yard run to deliver a banger of a strike off his right foot to half his team's defecit and make the game 2-1! Wasting no time celebrating, he grabs the ball from the net and ushers his team back to the center line.

In the 74th minute, manager Amadeus Klausmann made a tactical double substitution, replacing Nikolaus Ludwig and Heinrich Helmfried with Maximilian Wolfram and Marcel Gottlieb. Hans Gerhardt would later be subbed off in the 85th minute, to be replaced by Viktor Diethelm.

Walenstein's prayers would be answered in the 78th minute. Striker Matthias Merten would take a corner short, and cross the ball into the box. Going further than he anticipated, it would find the captain CAM Oliver Severin who would hit the ball in with his chest, levelling off the match at 2-2, to the fierce celebration of Walensteiner supporters.

In the 81st minute, a sloppy long pass would be turned over by Alanikkan striker Chip Monk, who would run it down towards the penalty box line and beat Manuel Oswald from range to reinstate Alanikka's lead 3-2. Hope started dying out for Walenstein.

In the 86th minute, however, as a corner kick is crossed in, the ball rebounds off the hand of Alanikkan defender George McChizze. Walensteiner players protest for a penalty, and finally the referee brings the game to a halt and points to the spot, with no further action taken against the offender. Despite Alanikkan objections, the handball appeared to be deliberate, and therefore the penalty kick stood.

With the entire team tired, and the match hanging in the balance, subbed on striekr Maximillian Wolfram stepped up to the spot. Sending the ball down the middle, he'd send Alanikka's keeper to the right and bury the shot home, equalizing the match once more 3-3, and to seal the match's scoring off.

As the referee blew for full time, a sense of pride was visible in the faces of the Walensteiner players - they had just made an amazing comeback to salvage a point for the night.

With the seemingly never-ending power outage in Eastfield Lodge, the manager's post match press conferance was delayed.

When it finally occured, the first question was asking him about his thoughts on the team's biggest comeback to date.

"Despite some defensive errors, in the end the boys bounced back to equalize the match in the dying minutes - I'm very proud of them, and whilst I was expecting a little more this match, we'll take the point without hesitation. I've decided to make a couple of tactical changes to the starting 11 for tommorow to rectify some issues in the midfield, for tomorrow's match."

Asked about the recent flurry of yellow cards, the manager responded as such:

"We take discipline very serious on this side, and the recent bad run of form alarms me. Although the lads have been getting emotional at times, getting a sloppy yellow card does not solve anything and just puts the team on the backfoot. I will be having a serious talk with the lads about their conduct, to sort this recent wave of yellows we've been experiencing."

And lastly, asked about tommorow's match against Zuiopien and the team's high standing in the table, he offered these thoughts:

"I'm confident given our 3-0 victory against the Zuiopien side the last time we played, but the lads must focus - three points from this fixture would basically send us through to the round of 16 100%, with a match in hand even, regardless of how other sides perform, as even if Alanikka win their next fixture tomorrow, we'd stay in 1st on goal difference mainly. The lads will play their best football and, we'll hope for the best!"

Join us tomorrow at 17:30 for full coverage of the BoF Group 9 repeat fixture Zuiopien v. Walenstein!

Massive power outage sweeps Eastfield Lodge, Walensteiner national team and fans affected

EASTFIELD LODGE --

Despite efforts from Eastfield Lodge authorities to restore utilities after a chronic power outage hit the nation, not much effort is being made. Caught in the middle of it all is the Walensteiner national men's football team, competing in the Baptism of Fire tournament, and the team's fans.

It is likely the team will play their next fixture, against Zuiopien tommorrow, in the dark. Asked about this, Amadeus Klausmann, the team's manager responded as such for the Neufeld Zeitung newspaper -

"With all due respect to our hosts, the situation is getting ridiculous. We've been without power for almost 24 hours now, and the lads are getting super grumpy. I haven't been able to get any work done on my PC, which is annoying me severly aswell. And now, hearing that we will have to play in the dark tomorrow irks me, as that will undoubtely influence the match without the light emitted from those huge spotlights. I implore Eastfield authorities to restore power as soon as possible."

Players of the team have been reportedly grumpy and irritable, with some apparently comparing Eastfield Lodge to a third-world, backwards country behind clsoed doors. It is hoped that the players don't take their frustrations out on the pitch tomorrow.

A travelling fan of Walenstein, Hans R., gives us his take on it:

"I'm not used to the power being out this long, haha. Back home, it's rarely out for more than hour, and seldomly cuts aswell. My phone is completly dead so I can't contact my friends and relatives, and can't charge it back up obviously. Sitting in the dark in my hotel room is surreal to say the least. Having to watch tomorrow's match in the dark will be intresting, I hope it doesn't affect us and we can take yet another win, though!

Dear Mother,

I think I can still access the pan-dimensional roaming wi-fi and this morning the solar power adaptor on my phone should give me enough charge to give you this update. Truly, I am glad our nation is such a world leader in IT and green technologies. If only the same could be said for Eastfield Lodge! Seriously, should a nation be bidding to host a major sporting event if it doesn't have the infrastructure to keep the lights on?

The early prospects for the evening were not good. Frustrations have been growing ever since the second draw with Baranil - we really should be breaking through by now, and yes officially we remain top of the group, but there have been 3 draws now. That 89th minute equaliser really darkened everyone's mood. I would favour a change of goalkeeper for the next game, but of course that is for the manager to decide.

Anyway, the hotel kitchen had simply given up and closed and a lot of the surrounding shops had done the same. Nobody is happy when they are hungry! Most of us had gathered in the plaza near the hotel district. Some of the drummers were still trying to start a bit of dancing and lift our spirits but I could tell that even they were lacking enthusiasm. Some fans from Tiiwark were also in the area and I think that perhaps there were a few angry words and maybe a small scuffle. Admittedly, addressing them as "imperialist pig dogs" may not have been wise in the circumstances.

Just when I thought it was going to get nasty we noticed a drifting of people in the direction of the park and we decided to follow them. As we walked we saw lights rising up into the sky ahead of us - sky lanterns! And there in the park a crowd of Eastfielders were not only releasing lanterns, they had set up an enormous barbecue. Even more surprising, they new about Boani veganism and there were falafels, all being freely handed out like a commune meal back home. The language barrier was a little difficult but in the end we all mingled and had a wonderful evening. Truly, though their power system is defective they are the finest of hosts. I cannot understand these fans from other countries who insist the lack of drugs and alcohol here spoil the event. And even though the power was still off when we woke up this morning we all feel much brighter. I only hope the match does not have to be postponed!

Much love,

Embuk

Sajnur emphatic in victory over Ekamijan!

Sajnur has dispatched Ekamijan 5-2 in an attacking masterclass, in a return to form that, along with Bohr's 2-1 loss to Skarten, means that the top three team are now separated by just three points. Sajnur had 60% of possession and used it to full effect in bombarding the penalty box and Ekamijan's goalkeeper, to the renewed delight of Sajnur's fans.

Sajnur went into half time with a 2-1 lead thanks to goals from Andre Naulo and Rowan Down. Play was controlled by the Sajnur midfield, with Zain Hasan proving an effective link between the back four and the more offensive players and assisting Naulo's goal in the 9th minute, a long looping pass allowing Naulo's pace to leave Ekamijan's defence in the dust before he sent the ball past the goalkeeper for his fifth goal of the tournament. Ekamijan hit back in the 26th minute, with Frederik Tjallor sliding into the side of the opposing striker, and the free kick getting past Alek Khadur to equalise. Down then fired from 30 yards to retake the lead in the 40th minute. Naulo was substituted for Vasil Stoianov at half time.

The second half did not start well for Sajnur, as an Ekamijan midfielder fired from just outside the box in the 48th minute to equalise again, but that was to be the last real chance for Ekamijan to score as Sajnur locked the game down. In the 57th minute, Zain Hasan executed a wonderful sliding tackle to dispossess the opponents before running down the length of the field, sprinting past four defenders, before lobbing the goalkeeper to make it 3-2 to Sajnur. Sian Levici put the game beyond Ekamijan in the 81st minute by finishing a complex passing manoeuvre which bamboozled the Ekamijan team, the final pass going to an unmarked Levici courtesy of Taulant Haji, with Levici scoring with a curler. Haji then put the cherry on top in the 89th minute with an incredible run from right back, beating five defenders during his charge to goal and finishing a simple one-on-one to make it 5-2.

While Sajnur's attack was wonderful in the match the defence still has serious work to do, as Ekamijan, who had not scored in their first three matches, managed to put two past Khadur, leaving questions as to whether Sajnur can beat Bohr or Skarten.

"While I am very happy with the result, especially since it has camled down some of the nerves that have resulted from the previous losses, our defending is still quite fragile, and we need to improve a lot before we can properly challenge for a spot in the next rounds," said centre back and interim Sajnur captain Tomasi Vuierev. Jessica Siafik has been declared fit and will resume the captaincy for the next match against Bohr, where a win is vital to keep Sajnur's tournament alive.

A Close Game to Win the Group

After astonishing victory over Pratapgadh comes another one. Far more slippery this time around. Soviet Micronesia proved in the last 2 matches that it can kick a punch with its shared 2nd place in the group. And unlike the opening match that ended 4-1, spectators have seen a much closer game.
Score was opened on 35' by Bysantia. Jordano Santos made a brilliant pass and Pinto put the ball in the net. 1-0.
Second goal came on 67'. Tedusius Cicero who replaced Pinto produced a weak shot, but the keeper was not able to fix the ball and Luis Popero was first on the rebound. 2-0

Our team got carried away by this success. Soviet Micronesia replied with 2 lightning attacks stopped only by Paul Smidt. I could see Krammer screaming angrily for players to concentrate.
Nevertheless, on 78' Soviet Micronesia got 1 back. Dionysius Calpurnius made a bad pass and Micronesia's forward took the opportunity.
The remainder of the match Bysantia set firmly on defense while fans were counting minutes until full time. On 89' yet another mistake by Bysantian defence resulted in Tranio Cecilius knocking down Micronesia's forward in the box. Yellow card and a penalty. But a perfect opportunity miraculously saved by Paul Smidt, who is the real hero of the match.

This victory sealed the 1st place in the group for Bysantia. We are the first team in the tournament to secure 1st place 2 rounds in advance. Pratapgadh surprisingly lost to Holy Marsh. Hard to say what is happening to that team as it is clear they are stronger then they play...

CHAPTER 5: THE BLACKOUT

The first defeat at the hands of Grod Island has made the national team players anxious. This is their first defeat after 5 straight wins and another defeat will be catastrophic. Geektopia next, a defeat against a team who is yet to get a single point will not be good for the team morale.

Luckily, a goal from Biduk Serangga is enough to beat Geektopia in a lackluster performance. Next up will be Third Asopia who has seen a bit of a good run by beating Geektopia and drawing group leader, Grod Island coming into this game. Avoiding defeat for two games in a row will surely gives their players confidence to step up against Eraman.

On the night before the game after having team dinner, the players as usual do not interact with their roommates. Badang Gangsa is glued to the television while Putra Daulapura Suara Petara is glued to a book. And suddenly, everything goes black.

“What the fuck?” exclaims the prince.

Badang Gangsa looks out through the window and sees the whole city in darkness. “It has got to be a black out. You wouldn’t know, do you?”

“A black out?”

“You really have no idea, do you? Living in the castle really makes you out of touch with the whole world.” said Badang Gangsa who is not going to miss the chance taking a jibe at the prince.

The room is quiet for a while. “How long will this be?” asked the prince breaking the silence. He never experienced a black out before.

“I don’t know. It depends. Where I came from, sometimes it can be days but in Anara it will only be hours.”

“Days? What? How is that even possible?” said the prince. A black out is normal in Eraman but it is impossible to occur in the castles.

“How should I know? Your family is the one ruling the country. Your dad is the king and your uncle is the bendahara (prime minister). Ask them.” said Badang Gangsa taking another jibe at the prince.

Putra Daulapura Suara Petara is dead silent not knowing what to say or what to do. After all, this is the longest conversation the two ever had.

Athletes Village, Ethane
T-minus 11 hours to Game #5

Vincent Alfonsi had called everyone into the team's dining hall for an important announcement. The mood was joyous, yet serious. The boys knew what was coming their way, a momentous game against Ashaie, and likely an even more momentous "talk" from their coach. Alfonsi slowly approached Luke Brookshire, the team's captain, clapped his hands once, put on a stoic a stoic face, and took a seat on the dining hall's bench.

"I am so proud of you all!" He boomed and was suddenly embraced by Lan, who was sitting next Brookshire, "You played your heart out and you got what you all deserved! I am so incredibly proud of you. We are in the correct direction. We have just scored a major victory but, and it is a big but, we have to continue the momentum! We can't let up now. We cant let our guard down. We cannot get cocky! We beat Ashaie once. That doesn't mean we can take them for granted. I will bet that Tiger Sharkistan took us for granted. They thought it would be an easy win again. What happened to them? We killed them, crushed them, annihilated them. We have to kill Ashaie to! That is, if we want to progress to the next stage."

All of the players nodded solemnly in agreement.

"We are going to be using. a 4-4-2 Diamond formation or a traditional formation? Asked Brookshire.

"442 Diamond, it seems to be working better for us," responded Alfonsi, "Alright," he continued.

"You all can get back to talking, eating, whatever it is you were doing. You guys can meet me in 30 minutes for a more in depth run through of our strategy for this upcoming game. That will be in the main room. In the mean time enjoy yourselves. Remember, no matter what the outcome of this game may be, I am still infinitely proud of you all"

Vincent left the room to light applause from his "boys." He smiled. His team was ready for the match of their lives.

Part One

West Guiana Federal Court Gemsbrook, Federal District

The air inside of the federal courthouse was rife with tension, Mr. Allerson and his lawyers were getting ready to fight the Attorney Generals office and the De'Cader government for the right to name a official national squad for Alluersia. Allerson was nervous considering the last person who tried to defy De'Cader ended up in prison for five years. He knew they had a big battle today and were more and less going to be on the losing end.

"All rise for the Honorable Judge Pamlea Carlson."

*Pamlea Carlson, whew, not bad. She's not as tough on Alluersia as some of his other appointments.* Mr. Allerson thinks to himself.

"You may be seated". Studying the room carefully Judge Carlson who was born and raised in Allison, Alkoul has been known for her fair and even rulings towards Allueria and other minorities in the country. "I will ask the state for their opening arguments."

"Thank you, Your Honor." A young slender woman says as she stands up to read off the carefully worded opening arguments for the government. "Your Honor, and those in the gallery we have to sadly waste such a nice day to be in court for something that is settled law in this country. Any and all entities that are registered for international export coming out of Alluersia must have the full approval of the National Board of Trade. I know we are talking about a soccer team, but as with the case of Gemsbrook United versus West Guiana, where in the Club refused to pay the export tax before thru left the nation to play in the AOCAF and Gold Cup many years ago. The Trade Board argued that because a sports entity is also in the business of selling a product that they too are liable to any export/import taxes.

Further because this team is coming from Alluersia, they are sanctioned further. This team must have given the State Department at least one years prior notice that they had any intentions what so ever to participate in a international event and must be given the permission to travel as a quote un-quote nation. This one years notice is also to allow the State Department time to compile a complete and deep back ground check on every member traveling as to determined whether they are allowed to leave the country. Finally the state must also ensure that all donors to the team have the teams goal in sight and that they are not donating for other nefarious reasons."

Picking up a paper and handing it to the Judge, "Your Honor, the paper that I have just handed to you is a list of names that according to the government are considered known and or suspected of having links to terrorist cells or having carried out acts of terrorism. Mr. Carl Davl who in 1983, just months after the war ended smuggled a national squad out of the country to participate in a soccer tournament. The government had no idea what he was up to and to why he suddenly left the country, so it was thought that he left to get aid to carry out acts of terror on the people of West Guiana in revenge for the then Republic of Southern Legalese losing their war. Upon entering the Gemsbrook Airport he was charged with Conspiracy Against the State and found guilty."

Taking a sip of water before continuing, "The Family of Hammond Walski." Some in the gallery murmured and others gasped. "Yes I hear the audience and you're right. Hammond Walski who bombed a concert in Gembrook in 2014 that killed two-hundred and eighteen people..."

"Objection Your Honor!" One of the lawyers for Mr. Allerson shouted. "Your Honor, Mr. Walski was a radicalized terrorist no doubt, but he had no affiliation with the Government of Alluersia or any former Alluerisan backed group. He was a member of the Islamic terror cell, Allah's Warriors, who also I would like to remind the court, that two months prior carried out a similar attack in Je'Kara that killed seventy-nine people. Finally that his family had no knowledge of his plans because they cut him out of the family as a whole."

Judge Carlson nodded in agreement, "Will the state please explain how some of these names got on this list. I see the name Samuel De'Love, can you explain further?"

The young woman appears confused and stamers a bit, "Ye..Yes Your Honor...Um Mr. De'Loves name appears..."

Waving her hand Judge Carlson stops the counsel, "Miss Hal'lx I'm going to have to stop you there, your stammering is telling, you have no idea how many of these names appeared on the list and I'm guessing some one you worked with just jotted down a bunch of random names of people who have committed acts of terror in this country."

"No Your Honor, I myself completed this list after many hours of paper review."

Judge Carlson rolling her eyes at this statement, "Miss Hal'lx Mr. De'Love has been dead for over ten years how on earth did he give even one cent to this team? Or how about Nathan Horegenson? He died in 1977. You know what i'm going to do, i'm going to adjure court until tomorrow so the State can get their facts right. Court is adjured." She says slamming the gavel.

This first day disaster is more than what Mr. Allerson or his team of lawyers wanted or expected, the state's young counsel may have just unwittingly given the Alluersian football squad their first victory.

Domination!
by Steve Stevenson of football.xan

Ethane (possibly underwater) - after a rather bizarre and disastrous Baker Park Cup earlier that year where the boys in Maroon finished mid table and lost twice to women's teams, the BoF looked like it was another tournament full of disappointment. But after the most recent game it looks a lot more like Xanneria could be in contention for a deep run. a 5-0 trouncing of a disastrously inept Porcupines has put Xanneria in the drivers seat. This included 4 goals from the fabulous flying Hailey brothers (As the press recently dubbed them) scored four of the five goals and the Maroons converted 3 of 5 Penalty kicks. Yes, thats right, the Maroons were actually the less sloppy team.

After the rains suffered by Ethane, it was nice to play a game that was played in the sun. But on the other hand this was the 1:00pm game and conditions were ripe for a humid game. It was clear as the Porcupine players were more easily effected by the humidity than Xanneria. it showed as most of the scoring took place late. In fact it wasn't till 30 minutes in we got our first score. Glenn Hailey got a PK and 10 minutes later his brother Mark did too. He out did Glenn by hitting a ball into the top bar and bouncing off the keepers ankle into the goal. Possible goal of the year? Who knows? with a 2-0 lead it was starting to become clear that Porcupine's players were starting to show wear. a hard penalty by a Porcupine player sent Mark Hailey out to make another kick. Hailey kicked a beauty and suddenly Xanneria was up 3-0. With the sky the limit Xanneria once again put on a clinic of dribbling, coach Alton had been practicing his dribbling and it showed by the amount of possesion as Xanneria held it an amazing 68% of the time. The game became a 4-0 slaughter when Glenn took a dribble from Marques Trenton and scored on a tough angle from the corner. The final goal came at 88' when Richard Presintino took a PK and to the surprise of most opponents scored. While the game was out of hand many thought Presintino, the forward from current FLOX leader Galaxy SC scored his first career international. THis didn't sit well with many internationals, but those familiar know that running up the score is not as taboo in Xanneria as most nations. That being said the Porcupine coach was none to happy with Alton and a heated discussion erupted. Alton was reported as saying "Welcome to Xanneria" which apparently set off the coach of the opposing team. Next up for the boys in Maroon is the Monsaw team that beat Xanneria earlier. Will the Maroons get revenge? We'll see.

An Roundabout Completed

It appears lady luck has smiled upon Skartenians as of recently, as the last game of the Baptism Of Fire Cup was won against Bohr, who had been the first to achieve victory over the Eastern European team right back at the beginning of the world cup. This victory had, without doubt, felt especially good to the fans of the Skartenian team, as if the respect they had lost at their previous game was not only regained but doubled.

The match had started normally, with the strong, howling wind and rain being an ever-present noise in the background. As more and more water began to pour from the sky and the game began, events quickly sprung into action. The Skartenian attack was unforgiving, approaching the Bohrian goalkeeper several times, and again and again, bombarding it with balls, like an relentless wave crashing against the coastline. It was not much later that the first goal came through, courtesy of the young striker Zachariasz Zrieszko.

With the goal marked, it was finally then that the adversary team began to push back, turning the game into an stalemate, with the ball never leaving the midfield, save from an lucky run or another that fatefully did not end in anything. This continued for a long time, until only five minutes away from the end of the first half, the young prodigy, Zachariasz Zrieszko, once again burst into attack, breaking through the lines, dodging the defenders and scoring and well-deserved goal. The Skartenian crowd was vivid.

As the second half started, the Black & White team was able to finally relax on the tiresome repeated attacks, which were quickly draining the stamina of the players. They now had an advantage of two, and thus, playing defensively to keep their punctuation and striking only when an opportunity was shown, rather than creating one, was the path chosen by the strategists of the team. This led to a more calm game, with the Skartenian mid players holding the ball as they could, instead of rushing in.

The end game was now taking place, and the Bohrian team was beggining to run out of time. Their strategy quickly became the same that of the Skartenians in the start, attacking without rest as well as they could. This proved to work, as an brief distance between players allowed one of it's strikers, Charles Niebur, to use this to it's advantage and score an rather lucky goal through the Skartenian defense. Yet, it was simply too late for the Bohrians. Before an second assault could be mounted, the bells rang, and the game was declared over.

Some time had passed since this last game, and it was now time to move on. The next match would be approaching soon, and this time, Skarten would be facing the underdog of it's own bunch, Ekamijan, who, while in an rather precarious position, had managed to force itself into an tie with them previously. This was an perfect opportunity for the team to prove their ability once again, and with god's will, maybe even lift Skarten to the first rank of their group.

Victory against Flaw

Postby Balqia » Tue Feb 12, 2019 2:23 pm

Sport Report: Baptism of fire edition

Another episode of Sport Report starts. This time the presenter is wearing a black shirt with a golden tie, in his head is a yellow cap with the Football team logo. He waves a little national flag before he starts to speak.
-Hello Balqia, my name is Leonidas Balkoviq and you are watching Sport Report.
He takes off the hat and the flag and give them to an assistant who quickly leaves the auditory.
-We have wonderful news regarding the Baptism of fire today. Our National Team achieved a great victory against Flaw. More information about that with Markus.
The screen changes to the Brook Stadium, the camera shows several images of the inside of the building until it finally arrives at the reporter who is sitting in a armchair.
-Hello Balqia, my name is Markus Petriq, and today we are in the conference room of the Brook stadium. Today we will talk with Karolus Antra… Antrarinovaniq, a fan who will give us some thoughts in the match. Hello Karolus, how are you?
The camera shows a man with a nervous expression, he displays a short brown hair with, the blue eyes are moving constantly, looking in every direction, except for the camera, his face almost matches the red color of his red shirt. As the reporter stops to speak the man waits a long time before answering.
-H-hello Markus, and h-hello Balqia. I am f-f-fine. Hehe.
His nervous laugh didn’t stop the reporter from starting the interrogatory.
-So, how was the match?
-W-well, it was very cool.
He looks to the reporter, after some seconds of silence he goes starts to speak again.
-I-in the begin I was very nervous, we have lost to them in the other match, and I thought that the team would have some difficulties or be impaired in some way. Even I myself needed to wait half an hour in a row to enter the stadium because of the generator wasn’t working. So I was sure that the team would have some problems… Yes, that’s all.
-So, how was the first half?
-Oh, it was...tough?! As I said before we have lost to them before, but this time… this time something was different, they put Gezan in the goal and Ozot and Rigo Janus in the front. We started with a goal in the first ten minutes, and another in the twenty. They seemed more prepared. I could see that this time Primlid, the coach, was more cautious, as we used a defensive formation with a offensive tactic. They tried to advance several times, in one of them the number five made a goal. But in the end a stalemate was reached and both sides were trapped in the middle.
-Could you talk about…
Karolus started speaking without letting the reporter finnish, he seemed focused and was looking to the camera, however his thoughts were in the match.
-The second half was hard. This time they focused so much in defense that the field could be compared to WW1, the teams stagnated, entrenching themselfs behind the midfielders, but something seemed odd, generally Primlid isn’t so focused in the middlefield, I could see that he was planning something. And he was indeed. In the twenty fifth minute he switched Ozot for Balto Faj, and then I realized was he was doing. He was just using the middlefield to tire the enemy, and then he made an advance. The entire team advanced through the left, Faj was moving like wind, he arrived the goal area even before they knew what was happening, and then he made the third goal. I don’t know why he used this tactic when the match was already won, but it seems he is planning something.
-Do you think that our nation have a chance to win?
-Actually, yes. If we can reach a victory in the next games victory is certain, however we must pray for a alluersian defeat or draw, we need to maintain the enemy with their points in the way they are right now.
-And that was all, thanks Karolus.
The fan looked with a confused face to the camera, as he just woke up in some stranger place.
-T-the interview is over?
-Yes.
-O-okay, you are w-welcome… I think.
The program ends with both of them shaking hands.

Bohr Loses First Game

A run like this had to come to an end eventually, and on a cold, rainy night in King Edward IV Stadium, it did. Bohr lost to Skarten, 2-1, on the back of two Zachariasz Zrieszko goals. Coach Luis Cesare made some interesting choices, subbing in Charles Niebur and Andrew Issel after the team went down 2-0; Niebur did score on an Issel assist, but the choice is still quite questionable: "Look, what we were doing wasn't working. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and the young players played as well as they could've under the circumstances." Oscar Jones and Finn Williams, who were subbed out, declined to comment, but Williams has allegedly been unhappy with Cesare. Could this be the straw that breaks the camel's back? It remains to be seen.

Ofasval keep their winning ways!

...In recent news, Ofasval's National Football Team won their last game with a blowout of 5-2, despite flash flooding and storms in and around the arena, both teams stayed dry with several giant tarps being placed in a cone over the stadium, supporters said it was almost like a circus, many supporters still came from both sides, however the stadium was slightly emptier than usual, storms causing road damage and blockages kept many supporters from making it to the game, as well as delayed both teams from making it to the game at their scheduled times.

Though the pitch was soaked and mini lakes appeared in many places, the game was played and created a very entertaining affair. Overall the supporters of Ofasval loved the game and had a few laughs and chuckles as players from both teams slipped and fell, keeping the games "circus-like" atmosphere, some supporters say that the Ofasvalian leader, who had attended the game, even laughed a little bit himself at the players slipping and sliding.

The BoF Drugging scandal heats up!

Just as our very own Maximusian National Football Team prepares to play thriller 5th game, The Maximusian Food and Drug Administration has declared that it intends to work with the MNT to investigate the allegations the sedating of many of the Maximusian players. The scandal was initially thought to be just a conspiracy theory invented by devastated fans, however, there is now evidence that their allegations may have merit.

It would seem that Maximusian players, Caleb Darkas and Tom Levi mentioned feeling extraordinarily light headed during the game. They both individually attributed it to nerves and not enough to drink but when symptoms persisted both players checked in with the staff medics. They were just told to "hydrate and get back out there." which worked enough to keep them from collapsing but seriously inhibited there playing skills. They both voiced these concerns individually at half-time to head coach, Vincent Alfonsi who subbed them out for the remainder of the game. Unfortunately, by this point the damage had been done.

The next day both players felt very well. But by this point, the conspiracy theorists had already vocalized their theories over the internet and were picking up traction. Additionally, an odd green tinge was noticed in the the two player's bench-side hydration bottles (an electrolyte replacement drink) by the stadiums janitorial staff. The drinks were said to have normally been a clear color as they contained no food coloring. This struck the janitors as odd and they reported it to the Ethane management team who, in turn, passed the information to Maximusian Management.

There are a number of theories as to exactly what went on. Most people who prescribe to the drugging theory believe that someone high in Maximusian management was bought by the North Miklikians to but sedatives in some of the starting 11's hydration bottles. These would have to be very low doses as to appear as just dehydration. The north Miklikians were not projected to win and so it does not seem horribly inconceivable, while highly immoral, that the team would attempt to adjust the odds.

We can only hope that this scandal does not have an adverse effect on our team. As always, GO LOM!

SAD NEWS FOR TIGERIAN FANS

Postby TigerSharkistan » Tue Feb 12, 2019 8:00 pm

As of recently, TigerSharkistan lost its first game in the BoF. Surprisingly, it was against the team that they won their first game against, Libertas Omnium Maximus. Many Tigerian fans were upset at the TigerSharkistan National Team lost pathetically, 5-0, to the team that they once thought was a pushover.

Samuel Harris, Head Coach of the TigerSharkistan National Team was distraught once the game ended with that humiliating score. "When we started out, I thought we had this game in the bag, but they made a wild comeback that we didn't see from lightyears away." he said with tears in his eye.

The TigerSharkistan National Team claims to be training for the next game harder than ever before, to prepare for the upcoming game.

The Nottinhapsian Times: Nottinhaps wins, 3-2

Nottinhaps FC fans in New Lodge City were in for a delight after they defeated Libonesia, 3-2.

The audience was in support for Nottinhaps during the first half, as Ian King and Anders Copefield aggressively played against Libonesia, shooting 5 goals. Ian King scored at 17' and Anders Copefield at 40'. During the second half, Anders Copefield scored a goal at 57', with an assist from Ian King.

However, things were to change. Various Nottinhapsian players, including Jason Smith and Mark Dangerfield, became sloppy. To make matters worse, Libonesia used an attacking formation to pierce Nottinhaps's defence, cheered on by Libonesian fans. Libonesia managed to score two goals, one at 71' and one at 83'. With a draw or even a win for Libonesia seeming inevitable, Libonesia fans chanted derogatory words at Nottinhapsian fans, causing some riots between the two. Luckily for Nottinhaps, they were able to evade a draw.

In the press conference, Tehran Alfenso said: "We might be leading the Group 7 tables right now, but we do not have a guarantee in the Round of 24 just yet. Our passing needs some improvement, as well as defending in the centre. The next match is more important than ever, and if we lose it might be game over. We're training as hard as we can for the next match."

Tiiwark Nooviinaq.tw

Tiiwark is now officially out of the BoF. After the 2:0 loss against Uan aa boa we can't qualify for the playoffs anymore. Any player wanted to give us an interview. Only Kiivis Taaqiilovitaaxiq told that he is very sad. Our great leader Jaava Nanuuq is still happy about the result: "Football isn't a popular sport in Tiiwark. I think they did a great job and maybe it will be better next time."

<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.
