Signups are updated through Hampton Island. This puts us at 47 with plenty of room for more.

There are five days now until the host bid deadline, and not one formal host bid has been submitted. If you're an established host, and you are thinking about hosting and just haven't submitted it yet, can you let me know in a TG? Otherwise, I will be putting together a bid to ensure the competition begins in a timely fashion.

With no response to my request for a TG if someone is working on a bid, I will work on my own bid now, but if someone experienced is thinking about it, please let me know!

The bid deadline is in 3 1/2 hours, and as there has been no official bid......

WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC 45
Official Hosting Bid

I. Introduction

The Cassadagan Association for Baseball would like for the World Baseball Classic to return to Cassadaigua just like it did in the 40th & 43rd edition. World Baseball Classic Council, we present this bid to you for your consideration.

II. Format

Any workable number will be used that will allow for even group sizes. Currently at 48 signups, so at the current number, there would be eight grounds of six. 54 would see nine groups of six; 56 would see eight groups of seven, etc.

The three game series format will be used once again.

Playoffs? Playoffs?!? All series will be best of five, with the exception of the final which will be best of seven.

With the number of signups currently a minimum of 48, we will have, at minimum 16 playoff teams. However, depending on final numbers, it is likely an additional round will be created, winding up with something like 20-24 playoff teams.

Tiebreakers?
Head To Head Record
Head To Head Run Differential
Overall Run Differential
The old school Overall Run Differential/9
Tiebreaker Game

III. Scorination

xkoranate 0.3.3, with Saintland’s NSFS formula, will be used again. This is due to my personal preference, and that it is has always been trusted in the past.

RP bonus will be generously provided. That is what we are here for. It’s cumulative until the playoffs, but I will cut it in half prior to the playoffs. Roster bonuses will also be provided, naturally. I appreciate the varying RP styles and themes that occur on NS Sports, all styles are welcomed. Quality is preferred over quantity.

IV. Experience

I've done this before! World Baseball Classics 18, 26, 40, and 43 were also hosted by us, and then some other neat things as well, including being entrusted to co-host not one, but two World Cups, and four overall World Cup Committee sanctioned tournaments. I’ve also done a World Bowl, an IBC, and a fair amount of NSCAA basketball. Other smaller things as well.

Most importantly, you can trust me. I am known for reliable cutoffs.

Feel free to ask me questions about my bid.

V. Conclusion

So, all you fine World Cup Committee nations, how about it? I’ll even bake cookies for all of you.

Let’s do it!

Thank you for the support. On that note, I am closing signups now as well to be able to run with 50 nations, and ten groups of five. Look for an everything thread later in the day.
