NationStates' longest-running international lacrosse competition is back. Throughout its storied history of 29 editions, 19 different nations have conquered to lift the most sought-after trophy in the sport, bringing pride to their nations and forging their own legacies. Wrexwic are the defending WLC champions, and Cosumar have the most medals of any active nation. Will one of them continue their dynasty, or could your nation be next?

Post here to sign up for the tournament and bid to host. Being a traditionally smaller competition, the WLC is a great tournament for newer hosts to build experience, but some experience with xkoranate and RPing on this forum is highly recommended.

xxxxOn behalf of all Velestrians, the Velestrian Lacrosse Federation alongside the Government of Velestria would like to invite each and every nation to the sprawling land of the Lotus Isles — a nation of 47 million people spread across 8 different islands in the region of Esportiva. The successor state of the fallen nation of Razenthuria, Velestria has returned from self-imposed exile back to the stage of the international sporting scene. A nation well-versed in the sport of Lacrosse, Velestria's predecessor most-recently co-hosted the last WLC alongside Banija in a memorable one in which Sarzonia made a large statement although in the end unable to win it all. Since then, the sport has calmed down, but with attendance rising once more, and the reformation of the Starliga in Velestria after a four year absence, the VLF has pushed for the championships to once more find its home to Velestria again. With this in mind, the Velestrian Lacrosse Federation formally submits its bid to host the World Lacrosse Champions 30.

Experience
xxxxThe user behind Velestria has been on the NS Sports forums intermittently since 2016. Known most notably for his time as Kep/Kebec he has also donned the titles of Razenthuria and Vledasia at times, notably he's (co)-hosted the WLC 29 with Banjia and hosted the WJHC 12 as Kebec. Small, minor tournaments have also been hosted in his name.


Staging
xxxxAll games will be staged in venues thru Velestria, given we're hoping to reach 20 teams for the cup, 10 presentable venues have been proposed for Velestria as possible host cities, which will be ground town to 6 venues in the event the hosting of the tournament does in fact come to the nation.
xxxx14 teams: 2 groups of 7; top 2 teams from group adv. to k/o
xxxx16 teams: 4 groups of 4; top 2 teams from group adv. to k/o
xxxx20: 5 groups of 4; top team and top 3 2nd place team from group adv. to k/o


Scorination
xxxxReferres well-versed in the rules of lacrosse through the school of Xkoranate have been brought in as the main choice to referee the games. Currently up-to-date rankings are not yet compiled by the NS lacrosse association, from what I can control RP bonus and will be high and as always the WLC is meant to be a tournament in which newer nations can have a good oppurtunity. A one-time roster bonus will of course be available.
xxxxIn the event Velestria moves out of the group stages, third party scorination will be asked for.
xxxxAs in RLStates MLL, tiebreakers shall be PCT, GF and GA. Two-point goals which are in use in RLStates MLL will not be observed.

You lost consideration for my vote here.
Usually the "we'll have daily RP challenges" is accompanied by... you are not obligated to do this, and will not be penalized in RP bonus awarded if you do not. You did not do this, and in fact by only saying that these challenges will add weight to RP bonus and not mentioning that there is no obligation and no penalty, you are saying that you MUST compete in the challenge to get max bonus.

I have no interest in having my RP directed a pre-determined way.

Hi, I'm not really too sure on RP challenges; I didn't mean to imply you MUST do it to receive full rp bonus, because of this I'll delete that as I didn't know, apologies.
