If the hacker causes YOUR plane to crash, that's a fine story angle. Just don't expect to write a crash for anybody else. Whatever the reason. Keep in mind that if the table says you finished 10th and you write about a crash, it won't make sense.

Besides, how should a hacker cause a crash in a plane, which doesn't even have an onboard computer? We are flying Vampires or derivatives here, not F-18s.

1: See Selkie's comment. I will, however, note that there is a computerised HUD added in as part of regulations, but hacking it is like hacking a military drone. Technically possible, but it's difficult to the point that we're talking an assassination attempt here, as it would almost certainly be a state-backed hacker. It's not something you'd do on a lark, and none of the computers will override controls (specifically to prevent tampering with the race.)

If someone wants to have a low time be recorded as a DNF for whatever reason, they can. Just give me a heads up and time to make the requested changes to the results and standings.

Note that once I do, it's final. I'm not going to be constantly faffing about with the tables if I don't need to be.

You can if you want to, but just know that at least one of the players with participants in the race won't be using it.

Also, about that crash... A skilled pilot shouldn't have slammed into the ground just because of a HUD failure. A crash like that, with major injuries, is also generally something you should ask about first, not only with the person who would have to redo the tables, but also with the person whose course it is.

So, here we are, arriving in Oea. In Kyrenaia, where protocol and manners are written in big, very capital letters and where perfection is key.
Now, as already announced, I am going to describe much of the pre-race events held in Oea, one of which is a reception/ball/party by the Khana of Sheliak (the local ruler) hosted for the pilots. Preferably ALL pilots, plus an eventual plus one.
I would like to ask all of you therefore to post to me here on this OOC, if their pilots are attending, if they bring a plus one and who that is, plus any particularities or wishes you have - for example, if Vang wants his Prince to spent half of his evening on the dance floor with his girlfriend (which would be quite rude by Kyrenaian manners) or if Jebs does not want any of his pilots to consume any alcohol for [Insert Reason Here]. Stuff like that (and sorry for using you two as examples).
Don't worry about staying up late, though, the reception/ball/party is a few days before the race.
So, I ask everyone participating and willing to participate in said reception/ball/party to give me a small okay to use your characters and these informations, I will then write the post and we will see, how you all like it. Not replying to this message is counted as not willing to participate in the reception/ball/party!!!
If there is enough interest, though, and seeing that we would have quite a few high-ranking participants, I could, with Jebs agreeing, make this a full-fledged ball/reception/party RP, though, which we put over on NS.

All four will be wearing their ribbons and unit pins as well. Ketschup's bringing his wife. No one else has any plus ones at the moment.

Prince Vang - Edgar Halvorsen of Vannish Motors is his +1. He will spend the event negotiating business deals and socializing. His lady is the chancellor of a sovereign nation and is currently working on a military conflict, so they'd probably be too busy. I'll send a TG to check.

Duke Sven Harssen - His +1 is his fiancé Megan Ingridsdottir. They will try to socialize and add contacts to their social and business circles.

Lt. Ananda Sturlasdotter - Her +1 will be her mother, who has heard so much about Prince Vang that she wants to meet him. She is also an avid businesswoman.

MAJ Augustus Huskinson - Accompanied by Brigadier General Marvin Ransluue, the pair will work to discuss military coordination with local leadership.

To be honest, I haven't expected replies so quickly, so I believe, it is awesome!
Just so that we are all along the same lines, there will be no diplomatic, military or business deals except the promise to talk again with each other in the future at most, okay?

As for scorinating the dogfight, why not make it simple? Take an RNG, ask him for a number from 1 to 100 for each contestant and use that as the result. I mean, what comes out of there is not deciding for the series itself, only for the egos of our pilots. ; )
