Goran Bogdanovich sat in the changing rooms of the
Acacia Point Municipal Tennis Courts In Cootamundra Islands, Beepee. He had just lost his last round robin match in the local Beepee championships, which meant he came last in the tournament.

At seventeen years of age, Goran had left school with no qualifications to pursue a career in tennis. His first tournament, a local tournament, and he finished last.

"What have I done?", he gulped as he held back tears. "I'll never be a professional tennis player, and it's all I've ever wanted to be."

Martin Khalizniakov walked in and saw the now sobbing Goran. "Come on mate, you played well out there today". He said, patting poor Goran on the shoulder. "You can't always win, I mean if you did; no-one would like you! I mean, I like you because I know I have to play well to beat you."

Goran looked up at Martin and shook his head.

"Oh I'm crap at giving pep-talks!" Martin muttered walking over the message board. "Hey Look!", he said pulling a flyer of the board "The third Mercedini Open is looking for players. Wanna sign up?"

"I'm not good enough." Goran said, laying in the foetal position on the bench.

"Male bovine excrement! Oh and they have doubles tournament.... be my partner!? I'll buy you your ticket!"

Goran rolled over to face away from Martin and quietly said "ok sure".

"AWESOME! I'll get our tickets booked and sign us up... hopefully we're not too late! I wonder if the others would like to take part?" Martin said rushing out of the changing rooms.

Goran lay there for a few more minutes, before sitting up. 'Wait! He wasn't serious, was he?' He though 'I cant play in a professional tournament! I'll be laughed off the court'.

Goran groaned as he returned to the foetal position.

---

The next day, Goran was back at the Municipal Tennis Courts, practicing his serve and returning balls from the tennis ball machine, when his mobile phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Goran? It's Martin."

"Oh, hey!"

"We're in! All four of us!"

"What? What are you on about?"

"The Mercidini Open. We're in, you, me, Ivo and Dusan. We're leaving tonight ."

"I.... I. Can't..."

"Ive got your ticket... the draw's being made. you're in the qualifiers, but you're in! Be at the airport at midnight ".

Goran sat on the court, not quite believing what he'd heard. 'I'm going to be a professional tennis player' He thought to himself as a wide smile spread across his face.

He got up and went to home to pack.

---

Goran entered the airport, looking for Martin and the others. He saw them waving and walked over. "Hey guys."

"Hey!" Martin said a little too enthusiastically, "got your passport?"

"Eh.... yeah!" Goran said patting his pockets.

"Here's your ticket. We're sitting in the same row. Ivo and Dusan are in front of us."

"How did you organise this? "

"Oh it was nothing", Martin said blushing slightly. "We're all staying in the same hotel. It's going to be great."

---

The flight to Zoloroni Sports City was long but uneventful. They had to take four flights, changing in Volaworand, North Prarie and Britonisea, before finally landing in Zoloroni, Mercedini.

With each flight Goran's excitement about the tournament grew.

The four Beepeean players checked into their hotel, four adjacent suites all on the same floor.

Opening the door to his suite, Goran was happy. The room was not the most luxurious but was perfectly appointed, large and comfortable. He threw his bag on the sofa and fell backwards onto the bed.

A knock came from the door, it was Martin.

Goran swung open the door "Hey Martin."

"Hey. The Mercedini Open has sent through it's details and security passes. Here." Martin extended the pack to Goran

Goran tentatively took the pack. "Thanks"

"No problem".

"No, I mean... thanks... For this... For everything.

"It's ok"

"I mean... I don't want to let you down"

"Hey, you won't let me down. Even if we lose, right? "

"I mean, I might... but I'm gonna try not to. "

"You worry too much."

"Probably. Want to come in? Have a drink?"

"Sure. I also got us spectator passes for the whole tournament, so if we get knocked out early we can watch the others."

"Cool"

"Can we practice together tomorrow?", Goran said opening the mini-bar.

"Sure. Any South Pacific Iced Tea?"

"Doesn't look like it! You'll just have to drink this", passing a mysterious can to Martin. "Wait, this is all paid for right?"

"Yeah!"

"Great"

The temperature in Zoloroni Sports City was already rising by 10am when Ivo Dhjukharevic walked down towards the practice courts with his double partner Dusan Ventaromovich. Heading into the courts, Ivo noticed Goran and Martin on the adjacent court, and he rolled his eyes.

"Look at them!", he muttered as he entered the courts.

"Oh, just let them be", Dusan retorted as they began to unpack their racquets.

As Ivo headed to the service line, a ball whizzed passed his head. "What the? HEY, WATCH IT!"

"Sorry!" Goran called over.

Ivo saw red and fumed. "He's not good enough to be here!", he groused.

"You're just bitter he beat you in Beepee", sniped Dusan.

"Not funny!"

"Ah, just give him a break. He's young he'll learn."

'He has no natural talent', Ivo thought.

Another ball flew past Ivo.

"Sorry!" Came the call from Goran.

It was the last straw. Ivo slammed his racquet on the ground, and stormed over to Goran. "What the hell do you think your doing? Do you even know?", Ivo raged

"I... I'm sorry." Goran mumbled, welling up.

"You shouldn't even be here! You're not good enough! You'll never be good enough! How did you even get here?" Ivo shouted "goddamn untalented prick!"

"Hey! HEY!" Martin yelled trying to redirect the anger.

"I'm trying to train. It's unfair that good tennis players have to deal with this. Get him out of my sight".

"We're done anyway." Martin said, visibly flushed, "Get your stuff Goran".

---

When Ivo got back to his suite, he saw the draw for the Mercedini Open had been made:

Qualification Rounds

Singles:
Goran Bogdanovich (Beepee) vs. Dimas Harris (Singalion)

Doubles:
Shigetsu Mayaru / Anto Heirota (Chiheinan) vs. Martin Khalizniakov / Goran Bogdanovich (Beepee)

'Good' Ivo thought 'He'll be gone by Friday. He has no hope against Dimas Harris. Our South Pacific neighbours will crush him.'

West Phoenician Tennis starlet Renee Richardson is back on the scene after taking a 5 month hiatus.

Since returning to the tennis circuit her scheduled has become full on. She was successful in the West Phoenician Olympic tennis qualifiers last week in Jackson, West Phoenicia where she battled 100 hopeful candidates to win one of the coveted spots on the team. She was successful placing first overall in the female catergory and snagging one of the four spots. And sbowing West Phoenician Tennis fans she has still got it.

She was also successful in obtaining one of the four spots in the MERCEDINIAN OPEN III, Renee is still chasing an international title and hopes that the much needed rest she had will help her in this pursuit. No one is aware if her bad behavior has ceased, but she has expressed a desire to start taking out international titles and making a name for herself based on her talent and not her melodrama.
West Phoenicia has yet to take out a NSTT title, the closest has been Tiffany Love; a much younger and friendlier player.

In between her tournaments it has hit the newspapers that Renee Richardson has received a suponea to testify at the hearing of her younger sister Katherine who has been forced to appear in front of the Un-West Phoenician Activities Committee.

The committee was created to investigate alleged disloyalty and subversive activities on the part of private citizens, public employees, and those organizations who pose a threat against the peace and stability of the nation of West Phoenicia. The committee has the powers to bring to court those found guilty of such behaviour for imprisonment or death. The committee also have the power to shut down any political party or organization deemed un-West Phoenician that posees a threat to the ongoing peace of the nation.

The committee works alongside The West Phoenician Security and Intelligence Office. Committee members are voted in by the West Phoenician Security and Intelligence Organisation and are approved by the Royal family.

A member is able to hold the position for life.

Committee Chairman: Prince Gai De Bush
Vice Chairman: Lady Margaret Senegalli- De Bush
Committee Members:

Justice Thuy Swanston
Justice Julie Grant-Federal
Justice Alan Anton
Mrs Tina Check
Mr Wayne Springland

Katherine had been overhead at an international competition making anti-West Phoenician comments and appearing on one of the nation's communist radio stations, saying the West Phoenician Communist Party needed to do more to gain control of the parliament. If a revolution is needed, it is needed.

Since her views were made public, Katherine has tried to back peddle, saying her comments were taking out of context. However she too has received a notice to appear in front of the committee to answer any questions they have, and see if any further action needed to be considered.

It is believed that Renee will give her evidence which is believed to help the committee instead of aiding her sister.

Renee does have a lot on her plate, but has vowed to take one day at a time in her pursuit of an international tennis title.

Part 3 - Martin Khalizniakov

It was the morning of the qualifiers and Martin sat alone in his suite, preparing for the day ahead.

He looked over the draw one last time.

'Shigetsu Mayaru and Anto Heirota; I know nothing about these players', he thought, 'although, I'm sure they know nothing about me. I'll just have to be focused on how I play. Try and not worry.

Goran is so nervous, I'm going to have to bolster his confidence throughout the match.'

Martin checked his watch, 'Fuck, I'm going to be late for his singles match'.

-----

Martin rushed courtside, settling in to his seat just as the first set was to get underway.

-----

Goran looked nervous, he had lost the toss and Dimas Harris elected to receive.

On the opening point, Goran stood tentatively at the baseline. Tossed the ball high in the air. His racquet met the ball on the drop and the ball flew into the bottom of the net. Goran's self doubt took over, a double fault, another, another. At 0-40, Goran got a second serve in only for it to be swiped cross court by Harris for the game.

Harris' serve power was too much for Goran to handle, as he rattled of two aces and two service winners in the second game.

Goran was clearly rattled, with a further two double faults in his second service game to lose it comfortably. Before he knew it Goran was 3-love down.

All his worst fears were coming true. He sat at the change-over and stared into space. From the sparse crowd he heard Martin's distinctive Beepeean accent - 'C'mon Goran'. Goran scanned the spectators. The umpire called time and Goran still hadn't seen Martin but there was an element of comfort there.

Goran managed to get his racquet to and return a couple of Harris' serves, but he couldn't quite muster the consistency to win a game 0-4

However, Goran' s in the fifth game serve became more confident and managed to hold serve to 30. It seemed to give Goran an lift. 1-4

An easy hold for Harris, was followed by an easy hold for Goran. 2-5. Goran was getting into the match finally, but it was too late for the first set. Harris held to 15 to win the first set 6-2.

Bogdanovich vs Harris

0 Aces 7
5 Double Faults 0
0/0 Break Points 2/2
12 Points 27

The second set was much more even, Goran's confidence grew and he began finding a rhythm with his serve. However despite his best efforts he could not find a way through the serve of Harris. With both players holding serve with ease, the second set went to a tie-breaker.

Goran Bogdanovich started the tiebreak with a service winner. It was a sign of his growing confidence as he attacked the serve of Harris, standing well within the service line for first and second serves.

The first mini break came after the change of end, when Goran capitalised on a short service, ripping a forehand cross court for a winner. With no other breaks, Goran had on to win the second set 76(5)

Second set

3 Aces 5
5 Double Faults 1

-----

Martin left the stands at the end of the second set, and headed to the changing rooms to prepare for his doubles match which was due to start after the end of this match. Martin was pleased that Goran seems to be playing much better.

-----

The third set started and Goran continued to play a more attacking play style tennis.

At 2-3, Harris stepped up to serve. Goran stepped in to receive. The serve was a little short and Goran took the ball on the rise cross court, clipping the line and flying past Harris. 0-15.

Harris served again. This time a full body serve, which bounced off Goran a racquet and out. 15-all.

A wide serve, passed the flailing Bogdanovich. Ace! 30-15.

The first serve went long. The second was swatted down the line. 30-all.

A serve to the forehand. Bogdanovich gets a racquet to it, it lands center court. Harris with a backhand. The ball catches the top of the net. The ball pops up. Goran sprints to the net. The ball falls. Goran reaches places the ball cross court. Harris races to reach, gets his racquet to it, but can't get the ball over the net. 30-40 break point.

First serve goes wide. Bogdanovich steps in. Second serve. In. Backhand from Bogdanovich down the line; forehand from Harris, cross court. A baseline rally from the pair. A shorter forehand from Harris. Bogdanovich reaches and knocks it back, but leaves himself in no-man's land. Harris runs to the deuce court, and lifts the ball back. At full stretch, Bogdanovich gets the ball back, its short to centre court. Harris winds up a forehand, and sends it long.

"Game Bogdanovich" the umpire calls, "4-2".

----

Goran was ecstatic. He held the next game, his serve, comfortably to 15.

Harris held his serve.

Goran had to serve for the match. At 40-15, Goran stepped up. He could feel the pit of his stomach drop. He tossed the ball up in the air. As it began to drop, his racquet followed through the ball with a comforting 'thwunk'. A good serve, in and deep. Harris gets a racquet to it. The ball floats towards the net and catches before falling down on Harris' side.

"Game, set , match Bogdanovich 2-6 7-6 6-3" the umpire called.

Goran had done it.... first round proper! He beamed walking to the net. Shook the hands of Harris and the umpire, before packing his bag and walking off court.

---

Martin was waiting for Goran in the changing rooms and gave him a big slap on the back as he walked in.

"Oh mate, I'm so chuffed for you! That was great!"

Goran smiled, "It was so good. I can't believe it. When's our doubles?"

"About 45 minutes".

"great I need a massage and a shower", Goran laughed.

It was relief and exhilaration.

Monsans around the country were glued to MSN (Monsan Sports Network) today for the coverage on the qualification round of the Mercedinian Open. The network recording a record high number of viewers doubling the old record. They were not too disappointed either as both. HRH Adriana Monsa and The double of HRH Chandler Monsa and Billy Lane managed to pull off victories. This will set up six matches on Saturday for the Monsan competitors.

Prehaps the hardest matchup is for Devin Berry, who will have to take on #1 ranked Dagmar Liùsaidh from the Ferrett Civilization. Liùsaidh is quite familiar with NSTT previously competing in the Centennial Masters and the 2016 Astryian Slam.

Kristina Reid will be taking on Ceallachán Amhlaoibh. The number 7 ranked singles player. Amhlaoibh has also competed in several NSTT events including the 6th Cenian Open. Amhlaoibh will be representing Ferrett Civilization as well.

Monsa will also be competing in two unranked games. With her qualification, HRH Adriana Monsa will go up against Sharktail's Muhammad Fikri. HRH Henry Monsa will also go up against Sachsa's Thomas Oberham, which will be the nations second match this week.

The double of Sabrina Spellman and Lisa Listerman will take on the Kingdom of West Phoneica's Con Gregory and Tariq Salmant as well as, the now qualified team of HRH Chandler Monsa and Billy Lane will be facing up against the number two ranked double of Leo Garry and Elizabeth Quehall. The double is from Britonisea.

Today saw the singles field cut to 16. Monsan's Devin Berry and Kristina Reid both lost their bids against Ferret Civilization opponents in #1 Liùsaidh and #7 Amhlaoibh respectively. Both Monsan lost in two Sets. Wit Berry losing 6-4 in both and Reid losing 6-3 then 6-4.

However, today was not all grim for Monsan Tennis as HRH Henry Monsa managed to beat Thomas Oberham in two sets. As well HRH Andriana Monsa beating Muhammad Fikri in two sets as well.

Tomorrow will see both doubles and singles round of 16. Only one nation has been eliminated so far and that is the Sultanate of Sharktail who only entered 3 singles player and doubles. In other news so far, Alywn Petr from the Ferret Civilization becomes the first player eliminated from the tournament. Petr ranked number 4 ultimately loss a close game to Akira Katsumoto of Chiheinan.

HRH Henry Monsa will now go up against the number two ranked Leo Garry. Garry is from Britonisea. HRH Adriana Monsa will take revenge on number seven Amhlaoibh for beating her countryman Kristina Reid. The betting market does not look good for either of the Royals, as both are favored to loose by a quite a margin.

Meanwhile a reminder for you about Doubles: The double of Sabrina Spellman and Lisa Listerman will take on the Kingdom of West Phoneica's Con Gregory and Tariq Salmant as well as, the now qualified team of HRH Chandler Monsa and Billy Lane will be facing up against the number two ranked double of Leo Garry and Elizabeth Quehall. Part 5 - Ivo Dhjukharevic

Ivo came of court, exhilarated but exhausted. He headed to the changing rooms to freshen up. The Mercidini organiser, waited to take him to the press conference.

Waking to the press room, he could feel a small pang of nerves, he swallowed them back down. If ivo had one thing it was that no-one could see any weakness.

He nodded acknowledging the assembled media. He clocked a couple of Beepeean journalists as he sat. The questions were pleasant and non-distinct. Ivo batted the questions off without thought.

After the press conference, ivo headed back to his hotel. He dumped his bags on the floor and switched on the news.

Almost immediately, there was a banging at the door. Loud, impatient, banging. Ivo looked tough the spy hole. It was Dusan. Ivo swung the door open.

"What the f*ck, Ivo", Dusan barked. " what the f*ck is wrong with you? "

"Huh? " Ivo said, as though he had been physically hit by his friend.

"Your press conference. You think that's funny? I always knew you were an asshole."

"Woah, woah woah! What are you taking about."

Dusan flicked the Tv onto the sports channel. The reporters were taking about an arrogant tennis player. Not a good ambassador for the sport. The recording of Ivo's press conference stated to play.

He heard the journalist ask the question. 'You're the only Beepeean through to round 2." Then came his reply. "that's because the others are crap.

Ivo flushed. He didn't remember saying it, but there it was across the multiverse. He turned to Dusan. "I'm sorry".

"Too little, too late. I've put up with your arrogance, your crap, long enough. You're not that good and you're not that much better than the rest of us. You need to learn some respect.

Ivo watched as Dusan stormed off.

Ivo stood for a couple of minutes and closed the door.

Ivo didn't have many friends and he'd just lost him one.

Part 6 - Dusan Ventaromovich

Dusan served an ace to wrap up the match. The umpire rattled off the result "game, set, match, Dhjukharevic-Ventaromovich 67 76 61".

Inside Dusan was ecstatic, very few people would had expected the Beepeeans to beat the Britonisea pair, but externally Dusan had remained stonefaced throughout the match.

Dusan politely shook the hands of his opponents and the umpire and promptly lefty the court, walking quickly away from Ivo.

'Hold up', Ivo called after him. 'Wait'.

Dusan didn't break his stride and strode into the changing rooms. Ivo following close behind.

'Dusan!' Ivo panted 'come on talk to me'.

'You want me to talk to you? Really? Did you see the stands there? '

Ivo looked confused

'Martin and Goran were there. They were there for you and I. Even thought they lost, and could've headed home, they stayed to cheer us, to cheer you on.

Ivo stared blankly, at the ranting Dusan.

'You're impossible. All these people, Martin, Goran, me we all love you, despite you. You call us crap, embarrass us, do what the hell you like. But we're always there. I can't do it anymore. I need you to start acting like a human.'

Ivo stuttered out 'I..I...I..'

'You're so selfish on court. The times in the first set, i called it, but no you just had to be the star.... guess what we lost that set. '

'Dusan, I...'

'You, what? You're sorry? '

Ivo nodded.

'I said it yesterday, too little too late. If you don't change you're on your own. Next match you need to show me that I'm part of this team. And you need to speak with Goran and Martin."

Dusan stuffed a towel in his tennis bag, and marched off leaving Ivo in the change rooms with some of the other competitors watching on in disbelief.

---

Dusan walked along out of the tennis centre and saw Martin and Goran waiting.

'Hi guys,' he said walking towards them.

'You played great today' Goran enthused.

'Thanks. Sorry you lost. Did you have a good time?'

'Yeah. It's been a great experience. I'd love to do it again".

"Is Ivo coming? ' Martin asked.

Dusan shook his head, 'I'm over him, he's an add. The sooner this is over the better'

''Surely you don't mean that?' Martin quizzed, to which Dusan simply raised an eyebrow.

"He's an idiot, emotionally stunted, but he's alright", Martin continued.

"I know, I know, I will but I just need to give him a lesson", Dusan conceded. 'Let's go for dinner!'.

----

Ivo walked out of the tennis centre and saw his three compatriots heading off talking and laughing.

HRH Henry Monsa has made it to the Semis. Monsa beat #7 ranked Amhlaoibh. Amhlaoibh is one of the three Ferret Civilization players to fall this weekend. The Ferret Civilization saw all four of its singles players ranked coming into the Open, however, none made their way to the finals. One of the biggest upsets of the quarters was by Ivo Dhjukhaveric, who despite some recent controversy managed to beat #1 ranked Liùsaidh.

HRH Henry Monsa will take on Britonisea's Derek Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik ranked #6 is the only ranked singles contestant. Dubrovnik will definitely be a challenge for HRH as he only just recently went to a third set today. Dhjukhaveric will take on Britonisea's Ralph Newkarn. Dhjukhaveric will also team up with Vetronmovich, to take on Qasden's #4 ranked Terry Reben and Icy Mellows. Meanwhile, #3 ranked Lilinos Cairistìona and Säde Kaja of the FCivilizationzation will take on #2 ranked Leo Garry and Eliabeth Quehalll of Britonisea.

These means were down to five nations that can still bring an Open title home: Beepee, Britonisea, Monsa, Qasden, and the FerretCivilizationn.

Part Seven - Goran Bogdanovich

Goran sat in the stands with Martin, intently watching the match. "He's playing so well!" Goran whispered.

"I know he might be a selfish prick, but he is a good player." Martin whispered back.

"Do you think we've been a bit harsh?"

"No."

"But he's been on his own here for 3 days..."

"It's his own fault. Dusan isn't the kind to lose it like that, Ivo' s obviously got problems".

---

Ivo Dhjukharevic hit a forehand down the line. Dagmar Liùsaidh stretched, but his tired legs couldnt quite get him there. The ball pinged off his racquet.

"Out!", came the call.

Ivo slumped to his knees at the back of the court. He had beaten the top seed, but something was missing. It should have been his dream was coming true, but he knew he wasn't dreaming because of the exhaustion burning it's way all over his body.

"6-2 3-6 9-7" the umpire concluded.

---

Ivo made his way to behind the courts. Dagmar was waiting in in the corridor to the change rooms. They walked together to the change rooms.

"Vell Dawne" Dragmar, nodded at Ivo.

Ivo stared blankly for a couple of moments trying to understand the Ferret accent which was broad compared with the Beepeean. "Oh! Thank you!"

"Yow heet goed"

Ivo smiled bashfully, "you too".

"You heef een ghesst"

Ivo frowned, shaking his head, confused. Dagmar pointed over Ivo's shoulder. Ivo spun round, Goran was there.

"I see yow." Dagmar smiled as he wandered into the change rooms, leaving the two odd Beepeeans in the corridor.

Ivo wasn't sure if it was the exhaustion but a small, deep sob released from his chest.

"Why are you here?" Ivo spoke softly, but abruptly.

Goran couldn't read the tone in Ivo's voice, but it made Goran anxious and defensive "I just came to say you were great today".

"You think so?"

Goran rolled his eyes and mumbled "I don't know why I bother, Dusan was right". Goran turned on his heels and marched down the corridor towards the exit.

"Wait! Wait!" Ivo called out. There was an undeniable desperation in his voice. Goran stopped. Ivo run to catch up "wait, please".

There was a brief pause whilst Ivo looked at his shoes, trying to find the right words to say "Thank you, thank you for being there today... here... Ehm.... I... it means a lot... It's nice.... I.... "

Another deep involuntary sob echoed from Ivo. Quickly followed by another. At that, it was as though the damn had broken and large tears flooded down Ivo's cheeks.

Goran was amazed. He'd never seen Ivo like this. Ivo has always been harsh, stoic and strong.

Ivo's guttural sobs continued as he placed his head in the nape of Goran's neck and held onto Goran tightly.

"I'm so sorry" Ivo managed to say between the gulping sobs.

"It's ok" Goran comforted.

Part 8 - Dusan Ventaromovich

Ivo Dhjukharevic was exhausted, it was clear to anyone watching the match, but he battled on bravely. His serve had lost a little of the zip but was still accurate. Icy Mellows of Qasden was reading his serve easily and was exploiting Ivo's tiredness.

An Icy return landed just inside the tramlines past the incoming Ivo.

"Advantage Reben/ Mellows". It was match point. The expectation that he might let his teammate down began to rush through Ivo.

He tossed the ball. His racquet following through. 'Twing'. The ball hit the bottom on the net. Ivo looked a his racquet and then over at Dusan. Dusan nodded.

Ivo tossed the ball high, his racquet meeting the ball squarely. Terry Reben met the ball early and placed the ball down the middle of court. The ball skimmed by Dusan's outstretched racquet.

"Game, set, match".

Dusan walked over to Ivo who was clearly upset. "You played great!", he said wrapping his arms arms round Ivo consoling him.

Ivo clung to Dusan for a few moments. Before going to going to congratulate the Qasden duo.

After the match, Dusan and Ivo met with Martin and Goran for coffee at a local coffee house.

"I'll sorry I let you down", Ivo conceded to Dusan.

"You didn't let me down today", Dusan comforted, "You played great. It's like you're a different person the past couple of days.". The others nodded their agreement."

"I always wanted to be the best tennis player. I thought to be the best i had to be single minded. I didn't mean to hurt you, I didn't realise I was. I do now" Ivo said sorrowfully.

"Well you're the best player in Beepee and you'll get there. I mean, you're in the final "here", Goran chirped in

"I know right! The final!" Ivo said "I'm a shocked as anyone!"

Ivo Dhjukharevic (BPE) 3 6 7
[6] Derek Dubrovnik (BRI) 6 1 5

A rather fantastic run of results for the Beepee national sees Ivo Dhjukarevic win a competitive final against the sixth seed Britonish Derek Dubrovnik to become the second unseeded player in as many editions to win the singles title. Congratulations Beepee and commiserations Britonisea, both of you delivered great performances.

Doubles

[4] Terry Reben / Icy Mellows (QAD) 4 3
[3] Llinos Cairistìona / Säde Kaja (FCF) 6 6

The all-seeded final proved to be much less of a tight match as the Ferret Civilization continue their dominance on the NSTT circuit, with Cairistiona and Kaja lifting the doubles trophy as third seeds. Congratulations to both who made the final.
