housekeeping question: in the various Athletics field events, how many qualify for the final? 12? 16?

I actually prefer the occasional off day. It allows more time for planning and writing IC stuff, which makes for a more interesting IC thread.

I'm not sure yet but generally it'll be the same as in RL. I might add some extra rounds though if it makes sense to do that.

Field events advance 12 to the final, for our purposes. The actual rule allows everyone who makes a pre-set qualifying mark OR the 12 best results, but in reality it is uncommon for more than a few athletes to make that qualifying mark.

I have removed the qualifying round from the schedule for the Athletics - Men's 100 m and Athletics - Women's 100 m. Neither will be necessary. The Women's 100 m will now start on Day 8 instead of Day 7.

The Men's 100 m has 128 entries, which is the most of any of the Athletics event. That one will consist of 16 heats of 8, with the top 2 in each heat advancing to 4 semis of 8 where the top 2 in each semi advance to the final.

So..you know the bomber, right? For my "Ace of Spades" story line, I was actually thinking of having Daphne be the one who accidentally captures him. Then, she reveals what she is to the detectives and police, which would cause a bit of an interesting conclusion to my story line, so it's giving some foreshadowing to what I have planned in the future.

The only thing is that Mattijana is working on an RP targeted to the search. It'd be a little mean to swoop in with your storyline in the face of his commitment to Amuplye's storyline. Not to mention Amuplye might want to crack his own case. Imagine if I said, you know how I want to end the KWP-VNG beef? The cheer squads get into a slapbox fight and somehow foil the Olympiad bomber. I would feel like I was skipping the line...

By the way, the story of this rivalry is so fun to write.

Rivalry is good as it let's it run into other sporting events as well.

I'm woking on an rp to give you a common enemy. Robert Strong (or 'big rob strong' as he calls himself) will tell everyone involved they're all shitbags and he's going to knock their heads in, in better words than that.
