Confirming that, after checking the most recent data I've compiled on records, the following results are new equal Olympic records:

Women's 10m Air Rifle qualifying
1 Treina Kash (SCO) 100 100 100 100 400
Ery Inie (KGS) 100 100 100 100 400

Both are joint Qualifying Olympic Records (=QOR). The old record was 400, and that mark has been newly equalled.

DNE is a disqualification, not excludable from the total score. (The worst result for each sailor is discounted in their total score except where the worst result is a DNE.)

And it scores as:

The Rules wrote:A4.2
A boat that did not start, did not finish, retired or was disqualified shall be scored points for the finishing place one more than the number of boats entered in the series. A boat that is penalized under rule 30.2 or that takes a penalty under rule 44.3(a) shall be scored points as provided in rule 44.3(c).

One of my cyclists in the road race got OTL. Can anyone tell me what that means?

The real-life cutoff for one-day road races is 5% of the winner's time. In this case, with the winner's time at 6 hours 10 minutes 42 seconds, anyone finishing 29 minutes and 14 seconds or more behind the winner would have been OTL.

The medal table is up now. I've also decided to delay tomorrow's scorination so that I have time to fix Must10inator and get the boxing and MMA results for Day 2 up. Day 3 will be scorinated on Sunday.

Rawa Aksara has replaced Pedro Mariano in heat 3 (the slower of his 2 times) and has replaced his slower time in the overall standings as well.

Boxing and MMA results for Day 2 are now up.

The problem was that Must10inator was expecting input files with Windows line endings (on Linux!) but Input Maker had generated files with Mac/Linux line endings. The difference is that lines on Windows end in "\n\r" whereas they end in just "\n" on Mac and Linux (to make this even more complicated, Macs used to use "\r" prior to OS X). Fortunately, my text editor can convert files to use Windows line endings but then it inserted an invisible newline at the end of the file which caused Must10inator to still crash because it read a new line and expected to find another entry.

Since I now understand why it was crashing, I should be able to scorinate all future boxing and MMA events on schedule though I will definitely be rewriting Must10inator before I use it again post-Olympics.

Can we please avoid long posts like these which turn out to be nothing more than regurgitation of what FFR posts in the results thread, just put into text?

I may be in a minority here but when I hosted the Olympics, I hated result-regurgitation RPs. It's bad enough doing it for just your own athletes, but it's worse especially when you're repeating the entire day's results, not just for your own athletes. If we want to know who finished first, second, or third, in an event and what time/score they got, the results thread exists.

This will get tedious very quickly if you're going to do it every single day, especially when there are so many events in a day.

I've heard similar things from other Olympic hosts (and other hosts in general) in the past, so I don't think this is a minority opinion. I'd recommend writing about an event or a handful of events or an athlete or a handful of athletes instead since you can write something more than just the results in the same amount of time it would take to re-write all of the results and get a better RP bonus for it.

It's mostly just filler because I've decided to spread out the plot, and also because I'm pretty new to the Olympics, and I actually don't really know what else to do.

They were really boring for me too, so I'll stop.

I'd give Amuaplye the benefit of the doubt, mainly b/c they have already established a pretty extensive storyline before the games even started.

Plus, I'm sort of was guilty of the same thing, a writers block b/c I was going to do a whole Opening Ceremony bit and then didn't get the right frame of mind to do it, so I copped out and did something that wasn't that great.

That said, I came here specifically to say that the whole E-Sports bullying/hazing thing is an interesting plot, especially if you need a diversion.

As for how one actually gets a DNE, it means you got a black flag disqualification, the race was restarted, and then you proceeded to try and race in the restarted race anyway. It's pretty rare IRL. If one gets a black flag disqualification and does not attempt to race in the restarted race, it is scored as BFD and you get the same number of points as for a DNE, but it is excludable.

Day 3 Olympic records:

Archery—Women's Team (24-arrow match): Free Republics (FFR) 227 =OR [last 16]
Upon further review, this is not an Olympic record.

Not an up-to-date list. I'm working off a spreadsheet that I'll put on Google Docs or somewhere after this Games.

I think I found a misprint. Harriet Marsdottir (VNG) won in MMA women's strawweight, but her opponent is listed as advancing. I look forward to the games!

For the swimming events, I put the OR I could find under the final round for them. I believe they're correct.

Due to the unexpectedly long length of today's scorination, I am realistically not going to be able to set up xkoranate in time for tomorrow's scorination so tomorrow will be an off day.

I fixed a bug in the 3x3 basketball scorinator that caused the round-robin single matchday option to not scorinate anything if groups contained an odd number of teams (as the men's 3x3 groups do). I suspect that the same bug is also in Baseinator (and will need to be fixed before the next scorination if it is). I also fixed a bug with the Olympic-style tiebreakers in Must10inator (all 3 judges were always declaring the same fighter the winner if there was a tie because the program was comparing the memory addresses where the scores were stored instead of the scores).
