Welcome to the Mercedinian Open. This is a Tier 1 NSTT event held on grass and is hosted at the Cortex Centre in Zoloroni Sports City, Mercedini. As is usually the case, two events will be held, a singles event along with a doubles event, both events will run parallel to one-another with some schedule disparity due to differing participation rates, but current scheduling plans have the Mercedinian Open running between the dates of 24th and 30th of September, this may change due to clashing with the World Cup and other competing tournaments. This is the third iteration of the Mercedinian Open, for those new to the NSTT circuit or if you just need some inspiration for potential IC posts, then you can view full results and previous RPs here and here
Things To Consider
- All male, female and non-human participants are allowed to participate in the Mercedinian Open, including any combination when referring to the double's competition
- There will be a provisional listing of 64 singles' players and 32 doubles' pairings for the first round proper, however this may change if participation rates are particularly high or low
- There will be a provisional seeding list of 16 singles and 8 doubles for the first round proper, however this may change if participation rates are high
- While the specific RP grading system will not be disclosed, it will be cumulative and added directly onto rank, with an emphasis of quality over quantity. This means players will be rewarded consistent RPs during cutoffs, but don't worry if you miss a cutoff, you can still make up the gap with a killer match report!
- Cutoffs will be some time around 2000 and 2200 BST (UTC+1) on the date expressed on the calendar when it is posted on the IC thread. Any delay or change to the schedule will (hopefully) be announced in advance with a schedule change included in subsequent cutoffs.
- Signups will close at least 24 hours before the tournament is set to begin, although I will try to give you updates on the situation including upcoming deadlines. I anticipate sign-ups being open for about two weeks, with the tournament lasting for a further week and a half after that
- Rankings will be directly assigned via logarithmic NSTT Rankings and will be scorinated with Xkorinate
- Puppets MUST be declared (max. of TWO nations per player)
- You do not have to fill out the whole list, with a playoff round designed to cut the field down to manageable numbers anyway
