City: Lublova, Molvania
Stadium: Slavnarzeczpospolitastadion (cap. 61,230)
Nickname(s): The Reds (no kidding)
Coaches:
Manager: Ensio Kedar (63 y/o)
Assistants: Vadim Koszeniak (52 y/o), Nikaeia Yozwiak (45 y/o)
Captain: Ross Knanirck
Notable Products: Jzeovak Vladcik, Demkjo Jzvanic, Djabgor Dzarkhin, Dymek Raktsov
Club Summary: Molvania's second team by fan support, it's probably fair to call the Reds the most consistent team in the state of Molvania. They are a safe bet for a mid-table finish most years, and occasionally break into the title race. Their supporters are known as heavy drinkers, but generally hooliganism is minimal. (honestly, if there's a team whose fans don't have a reputation for drinking, I've yet to hear of them). Lublova's steppe nomad heritage is on display at Reds matches though, with elaborate traditional costumes to be found everywhere. Impromptu bareback horse races have even been known to break out at pre-match parties.
Rivals: Interblag (regional/historical), Lokomotiv Dzrebo (regional), Dynamo Bardjov (regional), Dynamo Lublova (local)
Trophy Case: Confederacy Cup (S9)
League Form:

S8: Superleague - 10th
S9: Superleague - 3rd
S10: Superleague - 7th
S11: Superleague - 10th
This Year: After a brief flirtation with relevance it looks like it’s back to mediocrity for Lublova. They lost patience with Seneca Matthews after last season’s tenth place finish, but do they really think Ensio Kedar is the man to bring them up the table? There’ll be a lot of goals scored, sure, but Kedar’s track record is simply not one of building complete contenders. Yes, he kept Clark City afloat for a couple seasons in Tumbra, and had decent success building Sporting into the class of the Confederate second tier, but Lublova are a club trying to go somewhere Kedar has never been. Adding to the uncertainty, the Reds will have to get by without national team goalkeeper Drenel, back line anchor McWilliams, and their captain, Peikola. The shift to a 4-3-3 and Kedar’s typically aggressive tactics will mean a lot of goals scored, but a lot of opportunities at the other end. Amatya is a capable shot-stopper with prior experience as a starter, but simply not the player Drenel is. The back line will have to be strong and durable if they’re to avoid giving her a very rude welcome back to the first team. Trifunovic will certainly help in that regard, but the formation shift will also likely pull Knanirck further forward, and the back four will likely be left on their own more often. The good news is that the attack looks potent, but they’ll need to be more consistent as well if this team is going to win many matches.

Nickname(s): The Firm, MSC
Coaches:
Manager: Larry Bryson (CBP) (58 y/o)
Assistants: Rahul Kaara (58 y/o), Manakei Kuboushet (55 y/o)
Captain: Iuri Takala
Notable Products: Joris Elzokari, Danin Enesca, Isperia Marrish
Club Summary: MSC lack the long history of their biggest rivals, Chalesm and Brantisvogan, but make up for it with massive amounts of money. Bankrolled by the Confederacy's biggest financial conglomerate, Megabrantid United Financial, they have (some say) bought their way into the top flight of the SCFA, and look to be there to stay. When the chips are down they can probably out-spend any other club in the Confederacy. While some fans of older clubs may still view them as newcomers, MSC clearly has broad ambitions, and intends to cement themselves as a force to be reckoned with both in the SCFA and internationally.
Rivals: Brantisvogan (local), Chalesm (regional), Algolia (competitive), Yassaca (competitive)

This Year: So who exactly is it that this team have lined up at striker to replace Bravura Harper as she heads to Eura? Megabrantid’s website proudly trumpets that they’ve inked a contract with Milchaman superstar Marc J. Floren. Floren is something of a legend for the Milchaman national team, so that would certainly be a boost to the Firm’s attack. There’s just one problem, no one in sports media has been able to get in touch with him to get a comment, or even confirmation of the move. In fact, those sources which have been available have expressed surprise, and at least one insists that Floren is currently in the Archregimancy, studying with the footballing monks. How to explain this? A glance around the Milchaman footballing community provides a clue. One Marc K. Floren (no relation) has recently followed the Firm’s accounts on social media, and made posts about a big move abroad. Putting two and two together, it seems that someone at Megabrantid didn’t do their due diligence on this transfer. It would seem Bryson and his team are in for quite a surprise when training camp begins. The good news though, is that Marc K. is also an excellent striker, regarded as the best shooter in modern Milchaman football, and together with fellow newcomer Déborah Salas, should be a very valuable addition to the side. Depending on whether Megabrantid have to redo his immigration and registration paperwork though, there could be some complications to his introduction.

City: Arkintoofle, Megabrantis
Stadium: Olympiastad (cap. 47,550)
Nickname(s): The Olympics
Coaches:
Manager: Morna Korenak (48 y/o)
Assistants: Rangit Hamevaja (56 y/o), Pula Korischet (47 y/o)
Captain: Varna Ahlzweig
Notable Products: Olev Clegg, Rasim Orgatz, Damaris Nebojsic, Polter Yndel, Zemen Ystrad
Club Summary: Olympia were founded not long before the war by the Imperial mayor. Accordingly, they were hated by most of the Confederacy, and have not been wholly able to shake off the association with far-right groups and authoritarianism, especially since some of their ultras groups are known for chants and banners that are politically incorrect to say the least (the club has banned several of these groups from matches but they often find ways to sneak in). Despite all this, their support is strong in and around Arkintoofle. Of late, they've had a reputation for badly behaved players, and lackluster performance on the field, though that tide may finally be turning.
Trophy Case: League 1 (S6, S10)
Rivals: Arkintoofle United (local), UFC Flamarion (regional), Viltvodle City (regional), Viltvodle United (regional)

S9: League 1 - 4th
S10: League 1 - 1st
S11: Superleague - 14th
This Year: Olympia, after scraping by in both league and playoff, absorbed big losses in the off-season. They lose their best defender, Haldon, who is off to chase silverware with Damogran. Team captain Borkowski retires, and dynamic winger Samiii returns to Mar Sara, his loan expired. Former Traal vice captain Doron Aldra will plug the gap in the center after a couple decent years in Flavovespia, while Rena Kinross likewise replaces the retiring Egerer at the back. The additions are not exactly overwhelming supporters with excitement, and even allowing for some further development by young players, this team looks slightly worse than they were a season ago. The attack will be solid once again, with Fry, Arkhipov and Swerdlen comprising a solid three-pronged threat. On defense, though, there are big question marks. Can Ahlzweig hold the back line together without her former partner Haldon? Will Malanta bounce back from a dreadful debut season? Can Gerwalt contribute meaningfully to the defense in any way? You know the rule of thumb about journalists posing rhetorical questions. 9 times out of 10 the answer is no.

Assistants: Henning Winther (48 y/o), Solomiya Medveev (45 y/o)
Captain: Georg Holmstrom
Notable Products: Thorgnyr Bondarov, Snorre Fridtjofs
Club Summary: Based in the old Imperium’s largest port and originally founded as a navy club, Santraginus pretty quickly gained a following among the merchant marine, port workers, and working class of the city in general. Santraginus is, well maybe the best way to put it is that of all the cities on the Isle of Squornshelous, the former Imperium, it bears the closest resemblance culturally to a Confederate city. Progressive where the rest of the Imperium was conservative, left-leaning in a far-right nation, Santraginus developed, among other things, a hard-nosed insistence on doing things its own way, a thriving punk rock scene, and a vicious rivalry with Vogsphere, and their football club is heir to all of those traditions.
Rivals: Vogsphere United, Striterax Knights
Trophy Case: N/A
League Form: N/A
This Year: The return of Vasilii Nyberg after a season abroad in Brookstation is a big boost to this team, as is the acquisition of a solid, experienced goalkeeper in Mortenson. Apart from that though, it’s hard to see a lot in this team to suggest they’re going to be ready to compete at a superleague level. They’re still just a season removed from losing excellent young talents Bondarov and Fridtjofs, who have been showing off their quality in the Vilitan and Tikariotian leagues respectively. They do bring in a veteran at left wing in Geurkink, and Hjort has shown some flashes of brilliance since moving into the first team to replace Fridtjofs. The midfield lineup is seriously underwhelming, and in a league where so many teams put so much emphasis on keeping the ball, this team might go long stretches without being able to generate good chances for their young striker. Mortenson can help them steal a few matches, but unless someone steps up unlooked for, this is going to be a team flirting with relegation.

City: Jaglan, Algolia
Stadium: Koilos Field (cap. 21,500)
Nickname(s): The Rebels
Coaches:
Manager: Devane Miller (QUE)
Assistants:
Captain: Lyyti Vang
Notable Products: Rinko Nazahn, Eetu Nazarov, Ayli Orzhova
Club Summary: Sporting, like Athletic in Damogran, are the smaller, poorer club in Jaglan, and Royals fans have never let them forget it. As in so many other cases, this imbalance in spending power and prestige has become a point of pride for Sporting's supporters, and years of trash talking against a club styling itself as "Royal" have made Sporting something of a magnet for radical anti-authoritarians and anarchists. Their green and red hooped jerseys are frequently seen at political protests, and even being hustled into the back of police vans, something the club generally maintains an uneasy silence about. All publicity is good publicity though.
Rivals: Jaglan Royals (local), Emerald Coast (regional/competitive), Athletic (regional/competitive)
Trophy Case: League 1 (S7)
League Form:
S7: League 1 - 1st
S8: Superleague - 13th
S9: Superleague - 14th
S10: Superleague - 14th
S11: Superleague - 5th
This Year: Well that was certainly exciting. Following the examples of Viltvodle United and Emerald Coast before them Sporting decided it was their turn to be the bottom half team catapulting up the table to finish in fifth. Unfortunately, the following seasons for the two clubs that preceded them did not live up to their fairy-tale finishes. The Rebels do return nearly all of their first team from last season’s run, with only winger Poulain missing. They raised a fair amount of money from selling off reserve fullbacks Bachchan and Taipale, which should have given them a respectable war chest for the window. Puzzlingly, they didn’t spend any of it, leading to speculation about the club’s financial health. In any case, the team should still be respectable, as they’ve managed to keep their core together, and for once will not be predicted among the relegation candidates. Vang is perhaps starting to show her age, but Volam has developed into exactly the player Sporting had hoped for. The defense is perhaps the best in the club’s recent history, and will surprise those who still think of this as an irresponsible, attack-happy side. Miller’s leadership has transformed them, and though the process took a few seasons, the Rebels should now be considered as a reliably mid-table club, rather than a yo-yo outfit.

Coaches:
Manager: Daniel Lucas (CMT) 51 y/o
Assistants: Ipella Grieti (56 y/o), Tuya Volodero (43 y/o)
Captain: Olivier Oisette
Notable Products: Lyzolda Petrov
Club Summary: The Sea Lions lived up to their reputation as one of the Confederacy's most unpredictable clubs winning the championship seemingly out of nowhere in Season 4. They've struggled to follow up on that success though. Their own youth pipeline has frequently let them down of late, but an impressive eye for talent in the transfer window has propelled them through the longest stay in the top tier of their history. Syneca's tourist image tends to be more on the side of debauchery and party culture than most cities over the border in Algolia, something the renewed presence of top-tier football can only exacerbate.

S9: Superleague - 11th
S10: Superleague - 10th

This Year: You never like to sell a star player within the league, but with Mare Si wanting out after a few seasons of mediocrity, the Sea Lions didn’t have many options. They can at least console themselves with the four million they got from Yassaca in return, but it likely won’t be a fun time when she visits Synesoft Arena again this season. Daniel Lucas will look back to his homeland’s university system for her replacement, hoping Yelizaveta can follow in her footsteps at center mid. Bradshaw is back for his eighth, and perhaps last season in the SCFA. The Xannerian veteran has been a reliable scoring threat with three clubs, but time catches up to us all eventually. Here’s hoping this Sea Lions team can come together to give him a good sendoff. They’re a decent team, but an unproven starting keeper, and a few too many important players who are a bit older than most managers would be comfortable with means this team is probably destined for about the same result as last season: just barely sneaking into the top half.

Club Summary: United are the slightly larger, slightly older club, but in almost every regard are equivalent to City in footballing terms. Their support comes more from the suburbs, and the West side of the city in particular. Those fans are in a perpetual state of denial about their relation to V City, firmly believing that their club's true rivals are teams like Chalesm and Royals. The fact of the matter is that United and City are two peas in a pod, and seem destined to wrestle with each other in the bottom half of the Superleague for all time. It'll take something special to separate the two, and the haughtiness of certain United fans stands in defiance of reality.

This Year: United’s slide back into the bottom half continued after their run to the Challengers Cup of a few seasons ago, and looks set to continue, though not so much that the Hornets will be at any serious risk of relegation. They lose dynamic winger Bruce, who returns to Fiskadaha, as well as back line stalwart Raovisak. Some retooling of the first team necessarily ensues. Renberg's continuing development lets Lynul-Zorno shift the versatile Mishima back to center back, hopefully providing better chemistry and continuity on the back line than a transfer window replacement might have. In net, they'll go to young star Heiskanen, though how long the Hornets can hang onto a player of his caliber is uncertain. He'll be a real boost to them while he does remain though. Up front, Perkuna gets the promotion from the bench, but in an unheralded move, Lynul-Zorno has brought in Âdóâdé from the Farf amateur league to compete for playing time at left wing, as well as Revolution standout Peynir to split time with Nurmela out right. The Hornets will thereby be a shifty, many-headed beast on the attack, though somewhat lacking in outright star power. Pinder and Luk are a dependable duo in the middle, but neither is going to be lighting up the score sheet. This will once again be a team that grinds it out, wins close and loses close, and probably ends up with a lot of draws in the process.

City: Vogsphere, Vogsphere Urban District
Stadium: Vogsphere Arena (cap. 90,000)
Nickname(s): The Capitals, The Evil Empire (derogatory)
Coaches:
Manager: Gunnar Skeggestad (57 y/o)
Assistants: Pavlo Knutsen (50 y/o), Afanasy Persson (49 y/o)
Captain: Lucia Krupin
Notable Products: Iosif Chaika, Juhani Ljungman, Vilde Martikainen, Lisbet Naumov
Club Summary: By far the most dominant club of the now defunct Imperial League and the old Squornshelan Premier League before that. Vogsphere are a club with an incredibly long history, and an unfortunately close association with the old Imperial Government and military. The main club that initiated the merger that formed Vogsphere United was the army club SKA Vogsphere, and the ties remained strong until the fall of the Imperium. Their invitation to the SCFA was not at all popular with the Confederate population, and they will immediately assume the dubious distinction of being the most hated club in the league.
Rivals: Striterax Knights, FC Santraginus
Trophy Case: N/A
League Form: N/A
This Year: Vogsphere is a tough team to pin down. They made some interesting acquisitions and have a lot of veteran leadership, especially in the attack. Ruoho and Maktar added to the already potent pair of Krupin and Hult should be difficult to stop. The latter two have taken a season off of truly competitive football though, declining to join other clubs between the last Imperial League season and the present. It may not be the simplest thing at their age to pick up again at a high level after that break. The back line gets some young reinforcements, with Fernández hoped to be a particular strength. Having historically played an aggressive, fluid style, this should be yet another Vogsphere team that racks up goals in bunches. There’s definitely some doubt though as to whether they’re quite ready to compete with the more polished teams in this league, and Aberg does not appear to be the player they need in goal. They'll most likely be bottom half, as the team makes the adjustment both to playing with their new teammates, and facing top-tier competition, but if they can stay healthy there's a possiblity for more than that.

Manager: Irfun Melkum (57 y/o)
Assistants: Zoya Mejias (58 y/o), Housam Voyels (42 y/o)
Captain: Linus Rallyton
Notable Products: Jirar Lomidan, Selvala Tabur
Club Summary: The highest profile team in Sivolvia have only gotten bigger and better in recent years. While many neutrals may not enjoy watching their unexciting style of play, the club and its supporters don't care at all. Under Irfun Melkum, probably second only to Lopal Daror as Confederate defensive gurus go, they have developed a very specific brand of football, and stick to it. The Tigers aim to keep possession no matter what, and aggressively close down to regain the ball when they lose it. Opposing attacks are contained to the wings, while high-danger areas in the middle of the field are clogged with defenders.

This Year: Unprecedented. A repeat as champions had been done before, but to top the league three straight seasons is an incredible feat. A couple of the midfield stalwarts of this Yassaca dynasty won’t be back to attempt a fourth though, as Coleman and Stern hang up their boots. Vatanian’s ascent to the first team last season means they won’t miss a beat in the attack though, and winning the Mare Si sweepstakes gives them a dynamic deep-lying midfielder. This midfield is, in short, the best in the league. In goal, Kartal returns after silencing those who doubted her ability to take up Ekewakan’s mantle, and the back line are also all back for more. If this team has a weakness, it’s a very young bench. The average age of their second team is less than 20 years, and while a few, like Niemi and Axelrud, have been valuable contributors for a season or two, there are a lot of unknown quantities. The possible point of concern, with that in mind, is up front. Both Verhulst and Ødegaard are 33, and the club can’t count on having both of them play every match of what promises to be a very long season. Even with that potential problem, until another club can convincingly demonstrate the ability to stop the Tigers, you’d be a fool to pick against them.
