Liga Eraman 7 (Preview Part 1)

Year 7

The Case Of Ownership: No Money, No Talk!
(Season Preview)

The money has stopped coming in. No big signings were made by any of the Eramanian clubs this season. The owners have stopped or more accurately, paused their spending spree. Why? Simple. The election is over. This is a normal scene in Liga Eraman. It has always been like that. The first season after an election will always see a huge drop in spending by the clubs. This is because all the clubs are owned by wealthy politicians who have used a lot of their money in the recent election.

Football in Eraman is not profitable. But in football, no money no talk. So who got the money in Eraman? Politicians. Clubs stay afloat only because of cash injection by their wealthy owners. The owners and the government has always been the main source of income for the clubs. It’s not that there is no money coming in. The clubs do have several sources of income. Some of the top clubs do receive big sponsorships. Matchday tickets were sold out most of the time. But that is just a chunk of the club’s revenue. The clubs spent more than they earn. The ticket price is very low, ranging from $2.50 to $10. Official club merchandise sale is not as high as supposed to be due to widespread cheaper pirated merchandise in the black market. But all the owners want instant success, so they spend big money on foreign players.

Players’ salaries are overly inflated in Eraman with some foreign players earning up to $1.5 million per year while top local national team players earning up to $450k per year. The local non-national team players however only earn an average of $30k per year. The money to pay those salaries came directly from the owner’s pocket and the government’s coffers. Matchday tickets will never be able to cover that unless there is an increase in the ticket price which is very unlikely to happen soon. The owners will try as hard as possible to not anger the fans.

However, this will not mean that the clubs will fail to be competitive in the upcoming season. They have made big signings in the past few seasons and those players are still with the clubs. The last few seasons saw the Eramanian clubs spending big on foreign talents with the likes of Emma Balmer from Kohnhead, Peliniho from TJUN-ia, Manuel O’Neill and Dean Holcomb from South Newlandia, Gelereth Pirastadhaunden from Ko-ren as well as regional household names such as Rama Karyadi, Pandu Oka Jaya and Bayu Narmada from Pemecutan and Maxter, Irfan Danial and Ilias Rezal from Sharktail joining Eramanian clubs. These players are still in Eraman carrying their respective clubs on their shoulders.

Liga Eraman will still be action-packed with Royal Daulapura, Anara, Mitra, and Royal Puncakpura fighting for the title and the likes of Damaisari, Soma, Siasari, and Malkan making up the chasing packs. Let’s take a closer look at the clubs and their owners.

Nura Rabima, the opposition leader as well as the owner of Anara had just seen his coalition, the People’s Alliance (TPA) lost again in the recent general election. However, he managed to retain his Ronan seat convincingly, a constituency in the state of Aru quite a distance from Anara and most importantly, remained as the state government of Daula.

Nura Rabima’s decided to buy Anara 8 years ago after TPA won the state election in Daula. He was born and raised in Ronan, a small settlement in the northern state of Aru. He has never been a fan of Anara at any moment of his life but decided to buy the club because of its high stature especially in the state of Daula, the richest and most populous state in Eraman which also contains Daulapura, the royal capital.

Anara has always managed to finish in the top 3 in all 7 seasons in 8 and a half years under the ownership of Nura Rabima, winning the league twice. He relied on an all-local side in his first season at the club, not making any big foreign signing because it’s the first year after an election but still managed to finish second in the league with their star-studded local players which consist of national players like Badang Gangsa, Mano Bosa, the Saputra brothers, and Buisan Buayan.

Nura Rabima first made his big-money signings in his second season with Anara. He used all the 5 foreign players quota for that season led by Tamika November, the center back from Nephara. It paid off with Anara winning the league for two consecutive seasons before the league stopped for a season after Eraman fall into chaos due to the annexation of Mitra & Soma.

Anara never won the league again after that. But it’s not because they are not trying. They splashed the cash to bring in Gelereth Pirastadhaunden from Ko-ren and he has been banging in the goals ever since. There is a sense of confidence though going into the new season. They acquired Sembara Bunian, the former Eraman and Southern Palm Islands national team head coach as their new head coach 3 years ago. They have made steady progress under Sembara Bunian and are hopeful that they can pose a serious title challenge again this season.

The owner of Damaisari, Kadi Amengku is the president of the Eraman Traditionalist Party (ETP) as well as the leader of the third coalition, The Skullcap Brotherhood (TSB). They contested in 22 of the 55 seats in 5 of the 9 states in the recent general election but won only 3 seats, all in the state of Bakti, their main stronghold. One of the seats is Damaisari, a rural town of over just 50,000 people.

Kadi Amengku is rich but compared to some of the club owners in the league, he is worth peanut. However, they are blessed with local talents with several Damaisari-born players such as Felethi Arshis, Isileli Hiva, Buisan Buayan, and Badang Gangsa. As a result, they managed to qualify for continental football for 4 consecutive seasons after finishing 4th in the first 4 seasons of Liga Eraman.

The annexation of Mitra and Soma however made them lost the 4th best club tag as Mitra overtook them for the last continental spot for the last three seasons. They will fight again for the last continental spot this season. While Kadi Amengku can’t afford to make big signings, he is smart enough to look at Brenecia for aging free agents who are still a level higher than the Eramanians.

The owner of Dunyalam is the new second most powerful man in the country, Madin Arcin, the new Deputy Bendahara of Eraman as well as the vice president of ENP. He is also the head of the state government of the southern state of Pasir. He is as rich as any of the owners in Liga Eraman. But Madin Arcin never pumped his own money into the club.

Dinisurya has a lucrative $1 million per year sponsorship deal with the nation’s number one bookmaker, EraBet. The sponsorship deal was signed when Madin Arcin was overseeing the state police as the Temenggung of Eraman. That deal alone is enough to cover the expenses of the club. Madin Arcin doesn’t have to fork out his own money.

Dinisurya is a small town in the state of Pasir where football is not as big as in other states. Expectations are not high. So Dinisurya is happy to bounce from the top and second division since the inception of Liga Eraman with an all-local side. They will once again field an all-local side for the upcoming season and are expected to fight bravely to avoid relegation.

Despite retaining his Malkan seat, Nusa Kumar, the owner of Malkan is one of the losers of the recently concluded general election after being dropped from the cabinet by the new Bendahara, Rendra Usin. He is merely a Member of Parliament now after being in the cabinet for the last 8 years.

The seafood tycoon nicknamed King Prawn oversees the development of agriculture and plantation in the country for the past 8 years as the Deputy Bendahari in the Tun Senglang Petara, the previous Bendahara’s cabinet. That was when he signed the $500k per year sponsorship deal with Bank Pertanian Eraman, a private bank that provides financing solutions to the agriculture sector.

The sponsorship deal has been the main source of income for Malkan ever since. Nusa Kumar is not a big fan of football. So he doesn’t pump his own money into the club. The fans’ expectations are not high anyway. So they run on a tight budget. Relying on local players for most of their league campaign. Despite that, they still managed to qualify to continental competition once from their 6 seasons in the top flight.

Malkan will run on a tight budget and rely 100% on local players again this year. They have done well to finish in the mid-table comfortably since being promoted to the top flight 7 seasons ago and are expected to stay clear from the relegation battle again.

The owner of Mitra, Nyoman Lesmana is the newly appointed Deputy Laksamana overseeing Eraman’s foreign affairs, MP of Tara, and the younger brother of the new head of Mitra state government, Made Lesmana. The Lesmana family is the most powerful family in the state of Mitra with their family members holding important positions in the Mitra Chapter of the Mitra and Soma Heritage Party, the ruling party in Mitra and Soma.

They gained wealth when their eldest brother, Wayan Lesmana was appointed as the Minister of Forestry in the Mitra and Soma government long before it was annexed by Eraman. They made their fortune through timber exports and has been one of the richest family in the state of Mitra ever since. With the money at their disposal, Mitra dominated the defunct Mitra and Soma League.

They started in the third division of the Eraman league after the annexation of Mitra and Soma into Eraman, much to the dismay of the Mitranese and Somanese. They were unhappy that their team who are regularly playing in a continental competition suddenly have to play against a bunch of amateurs. But two back-to-back promotions saw them competing in a top league once again two seasons ago.

Mitra quickly showed the whole country that they are a force to be reckoned with after finishing second in their debut season in the top Eraman league. In their third season in the top league now, Mitra will again be looking for a title push this season.

The owner of Royal Arupura, Govind Linggam is the head of the Aru state government and MP for Saribas. He is also the Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), an important party in the opposition People’s Alliance coalition. He came from an opposition political family background with his father, Sena Linggam being the Chairman of LDP and MP for Pasirpura.

Govind Linggam was handed the ownership of Royal Arupura by its previous owner, the King of Aru a year after the People’s Alliance first won the Aru state election 8 years ago because the king is not interested in football. The problem is Govind Linggam is not interested in football as well but does not dare to reject the request of the king. He is not the wealthiest person around as well. So he tried to run the club professionally with the limited resource that he has.

Royal Arupura was widely regarded as the 5th best club in the country when Govind Linggam took over the club and they maintained that in his first two seasons with the club. But with other clubs increasing their spending as it gets nearer to an election, Royal Arupura dropped in the standings and found themselves fighting against relegation. They were finally relegated after three seasons fighting against relegation but bounced back immediately to win Liga Eraman 2 last season.

Back in the top league this season, they are expected to have a long season fighting against relegation again this time around with their 100% local side.

The owner of Royal Baktipura is the raja of Bakti himself, Raja Moksha Suci. He is estimated to be the least wealthy of the 7 rajas in Eraman but he is also the most down to earth among the Eramanian rajas. Unlike the other Eramanian rajas, Raja Moksha Suci is very approachable by the people and is often seen in public especially during prayers at various temples in the state of Bakti.

However, King Moksha Suci is not a big fan of football. He inherited the club from his father, the former king of Bakti and decided to keep the club running just because he knows how important the club is to the people of Bakti. He didn’t put his own money into the club though as he preferred to use his resources for charity.

Royal Baktipura spends within their means not paying over-the-top salaries to their players to stay afloat. They often don’t fill up their foreign player quota and prefer to fill up their rosters with cheap but reliable local players. The strategy is enough to keep them in the top division for the entire short history of Liga Eraman but they have been languishing in the bottom half most of the time. They will again be expected to fill the bottom half table this season.

The owner of Royal Daulapura, Tun Sengalang Petara is by far the richest person in Eraman. He was the former Bendahara of Eraman but retired from active politics prior to the recent general election to make way for new leadership. He however stay on as the president of the Eraman Football Association (ERAFA). Being the former Bendahara and the younger brother of the Maharaja, Tun Sengalang Petara is still widely regarded as the most influential person in the country with hands on everything.

With the wealth and power at his disposal, Royal Daulapura has dominated the league with 4 titles from 7 seasons. It was Tun Sengalang Petara who brought in the first foreign player into the country in the inaugural season of Liga Eraman. No other clubs in the league have the service of foreign players at that time and Royal Daulapura clinched the inaugural title easily, losing only twice.

The second season saw other clubs started to bring in foreign players into their respective clubs. Royal Daulapura lost their competitive advantage and finished second for two consecutive seasons behind Anara before the league was postponed due nationwide riot in protest of the annexation of Mitra and Soma.

Tun Sengalang Petara then used his power as the president of ERAFA to reduce the foreign players' quota after the league resumed. A lot of clubs had to release their foreign players and Royal Daulapura returned to the top again winning their second title. The emergence of Ross Hearkener from Brenecia as the manager of Royal Puncakpura however stopped Royal Daulapura from a back-to-back title the season after that.

Tun Sengalang Petara then once again used his power as the president of ERAFA to appoint Ross Hearkener as the Eraman national team head coach taking him away from Royal Puncakpura, their main challenger. As a result, Royal Daulapura finally won their first back-to-back title last season and is hopeful for a hattrick this season.

Puncakpura is the constituency of the new most powerful man in the country, Rendra Usin, the new Bendahara of Eraman. But he is not involved in football at all. He doesn’t have to. He is the son of Ajak Usin, the third Bendahara of Eraman. So he doesn’t have to build his image through football. He is already blessed by bloodlines. Football is the easiest way to gain nationwide recognition in Eraman but not every politician has to do it. Some are luckier than others.

The owner of Royal Puncakpura is Putra Puncakpura Dol Pekan, the Crown Prince of Puncak and Rendra Usin’s cousin. Royal Puncakpura was established by the Pekan Dynasty and has continued to be under the ownership of one of their dynasty member ever since. The Pekan Dynasty made their fortune through mining in the state of Puncak, the state with the highest proven mineral deposits in the country which include bauxite, clay, gold, iron ore, kaolin, and limestone.

Putra Puncakpura Dol Pekan took the club seriously and invested a lot in it. They have arguably the second-best academy in the country producing national team players such as Selamat Gawang, the Kudung brothers, Rimau Belang and Serigala Rudra. Some of the best foreign players ever to play in the country also played for the club. The crown prince of Puncak doesn’t mind paying huge salaries to get the service of the likes of Ross Hearkener and Elsie Madderty from Brenecia as well as Manuel O’Neill from South Newlandia for Royal Puncakpura to maintain a push for the title which they won once three seasons ago.

The veteran center back from South Newlandia, Manuel O’Neill was recently appointed as the new manager of Royal Puncakpura taking the role as player-manager, similar to what they did with Ross Hearkener a few seasons ago who has since gone on to manage the national team. The Royal Puncakpura fans are hopeful that Manuel O’Neill can emulate Ross Hearkener’s performance and guide the team to a serious title challenge.

Sentari is another club owned by a member of the Pekan Dynasty, the ruling family in the state of Puncak other than Royal Puncakpura. The club is owned by Putra Puncakpura Man Pekan, the second son of King Mat Pekan and the younger brother of Putra Puncakpura Dol Pekan as well as the first cousin of Rendra Usin, the new Bendahara of Eraman.

Being the second son, he is not expected to take the throne. So he lives his life lavishly often seen in casinos and nightclubs in and around the southern state of Puncak and Pasir. However, being the second son also meant that he is a lot less wealthy than his older brother who owned Royal Puncakpura, Sentari’s biggest rival and Sentari has always been second-best to their neighbor and biggest rival.

Sentari finished sixth in the inaugural season of Liga Eraman but the influx of foreign players in Eraman the season after that put Sentari on the back foot and they bounced back and forth between Liga Eraman and Liga Eraman 2 since then. They returned to top-flight football last season and managed to cling on after finishing the league only 3 points above the relegation zone. They are again expected to have a long season fighting to avoid relegation.

Siasari is the only club in the top flight of Eraman that is not owned by either a politician or royalty, at least not yet. The club is owned by Uda Mahakar, a local businessman who loves football. Uda Mahakar made his fortune through the Rotan Era, a manufacturer of handcrafted baskets and other home and lifestyle products based in Siasari and the main sponsor of the club.

Uda Mahakar ran the club professionally in a corporate structure making it one of the few clubs in the country that make a profit. How did he do it? Prudent spendings and steady progress. Unlike the other club owners in Eraman, Uda Mahakar doesn’t believe in instant success. He kept the wage bill low and sustainable to allow the club to grow. His first foreign signing only came three seasons ago when Siasari signed Pemecutan national team midfielder, Rama Karyadi who later went on to sign for Mitra for big money at the start of last season.

The money from the Rama Karyadi sale was later used to acquire the service of the promising midfielder from South Newlandia, Dean Holcomb as well as two Acastanha national team players, Jorge Vidshav and David Gothrado. The wage bill remained sustainable even after they filled their foreign players' quota last season due to their roster mostly filled by mediocre cheap local players.

Siasari has done well increasing their stature from a struggling side in Liga Eraman 2 when the national league was formed 9 years ago to a regular in the top division but they are yet to break into the top half of Liga Eraman. They are expected to stay clear out of relegation but remain in the bottom half of the league again.

The owner of Soma is Hari Sandaka, the former president of an independent Mitra and Soma. He was the leading figure in the annexation of Mitra and Soma by Eraman where his government campaigned very hard for. He quit active politics after the annexation and assumed the newly created position of Governor of Soma earning him a seat in the Royal Council alongside the governor of Mitra and the 7 Eramanian rajas.

He is the richest person in the state of Soma way before he entered politics. He made his fortunes through banking and timber export. However, he is not a big fan of football. The only reason he took over the club after the annexation was because he wants the state to not be left out in the national league of the most popular sport in the country.

Soma has never been a powerhouse in the Mitra-dominated Mitra and Soma League. The club only started to dream big after Hari Sandaka took over the club after Soma entered the Eraman football pyramid system. They earned back-to-back promotions from the third division and found themselves with the top clubs 2 seasons ago.

They have been a mid-table side since making it into the top flight of the Eraman league but the fans are hopeful that the club is on a positive trajectory.

All the 4 title hopefuls; Anara, Mitra, Royal Daulapura, and Royal Puncakpura started the season on a good note after beating their respective opponents on the opening matchday of the new Liga Eraman season.

Mitra, in their third season in the Eraman top division this season started the season with a hard-fought victory over newly-promoted Royal Arupura 2-1 at home. Mitra, bolstered by the likes Pemecutanan national team playmaker Rama Karyadi, goalkeeper Ming Xilang from Yuezhou, and left-back Russel Feltner from Abanhfleft were expected to have an easy night but faced a very resilient Royal Arupura who is banking on a 100% local side for the season. A goal each from Rama Karyadi in the 75th minute and Sagari Krita in the 83rd minute canceled out Dava Kudrat's lead for Royal Arupura in the 63rd minute.

"Not a performance that we had hoped for but I'm happy with the fighting spirits of the players and the three points," said Mitra head coach, Made Setiawan after the match.

In the North Daula Derby in Malkan Stadium between Malkan and Anara, striker Gelereth Pirastadhaunden from Ko-ren started with a bang after bagging a hattrick in a convincing 4-1 triumphant for the side from the capital city. Pirastadhaunden scored as early as the 8th minute and the game looked one-sided from the on. The striker from Ko-ren netted his second in the 38th minute before Peliniho made 3-0 for Anara just before the break. Right-winger Samara Grawira pulled one back for Malkan after the re-start but Pirastadhaunden was not to be denied the night as he bagged his hattrick in the 82nd minute.

The league champion, Royal Daulapura had the toughest match on paper for the night as they face Damaisari who is chasing for a continental spot. There was a slight animosity between the 2 clubs since the mass exodus of players from Royal Daulapura led by Putra Daulapura Suara Petara 7 years ago at the end of Year 72. Suara Petara, now at the end of his career, is still playing for Damaisari. But Royal Daulapura, in front of their 45,000 home fans in the Daulapura Stadium with their star-studded squad full of national team players proved to be too good for Damaisari. A goal each from the Royalties front three of Wikra Petara, Era Hitam, and Ilias Rezal ensured that the side from the royal capital takes all the three points.

Royal Puncakpura, with a new man at the helm, also grabbed the three points on the opening matchday of the new season with a valuable win away from home at Dunyalam. Two goals from Pandu Oka Jaya ensured that the new player/manager from South Newlandia, Manuel O'Neill started his career with a win.

11 Damaisari 2 0 0 2 2 6 −4 0
12 Malkan 2 0 0 2 1 6 −5 0

The biggest match of the week was at Puncakpura Stadium between two of the title hopefuls, Royal Puncakpura and Royal Daulapura. The match ticket was sold out within just a few hours it was released. No tickets were allocated for the away sides. A giant tifo with the head of a dog wearing a suit with the ERAFA logo and the nametag Tun Sengalang Petara was raised by the Royal Puncakpura fans before the match. It was taken down by the police on the order from the higher up just a few minutes later.

The animosity towards Tun Sengalang Petara from the Royal Puncakpura fans started just over a year ago in the heat of the title race of the Year 5 season. With Royal Puncakpura top of the league, Tun Sengalang Petara appointed their head coach, Ross Hearkener as the national team head coach parting the title-winning coach from Royal Puncakpura. Royal Daulapura went on the win the league that season.

Both sides were eager to win the match and resulted in an entertaining end-to-end attack on the match. A goal each from both the clubs Melayuan foreign player, Ilias Rezal from Sharktail for Royal Daulapura and Pandu Oka Jaya from Pemecutan for Royal Puncakpura put the two sides level 1-1 at the break. Royal Puncakpura were however the luckier of the two after Elsie Madderty and Serigala Rudra managed to find the back of the net late in the second half in what was a very tight contest.

The win however didn't ease the anger of the Royal Puncakpura fans towards Tun Sengalang Petara.

"Enjoy the moment while it lasts. Di Bradini Cup in Month 6 this year? Sounds like a good excuse for Tun Sengalang Petara to take away Manuel O'Neill from us," said a Royal Puncakpura fan interviewed outside Puncakpura Stadium after the match.

Elsewhere, no problem for the other two title hopefuls, Anara and Mitra in getting the three points in their respective match at home.

Week 3 - Month 2 - Year 7

Liga Eraman - Matchday 3

Malkan 0–3 Royal Arupura

11 Siasari 3 0 0 3 2 5 −3 0
12 Malkan 3 0 0 3 1 9 −8 0

The defending champion, Royal Daulapura received the visit of Soma on Matchday 3. Soma came into the match with a 100% record after winning both of their first two matches. A goal from Ilias Rezal however was enough to give the home side the three points but Soma showed the whole country that they should be looked at closely after their impressive performance on the night especially their strong backline led by the Brenecian duo, Randolf Weil and Helena Devon.

In Dunyalam, Anara was almost embarrassed by the home side who are yet to get a single point this season. The City Boys were left trailing twice early in both of the halves but managed to find the equalizer on two occasions through Gelereth Pirastadhaunden from Ko-ren in the 32nd minute and left-winger Kudrat Saputra in the 72nd minute before right-winger Kilat Saputra scored Anara's winning goal in the 88th minute.

Elsewhere, Mitra and Royal Puncakpura also recorded a win in Matchday 3 on their trip to Siasari and Baktipura respectively.

Week 4 - Month 2 - Year 7

CMFA Champions League - Group Stage Matchday 1

Dynamo Buttercourt FC (LFD) 2-0 Royal Puncakpura
Royal Daulapura 1-0 Lewcaster (HDS)
Spoltekia Kapitol (OPT) 2-1 Mitra
Anara 2-0 Pescam Campuhan (PCU)

CMFA Champions League group stage kicked off on Week 4 of Month 2 with 4 Eramanian clubs competing in it alongside 28 other clubs from 7 other Melayuan nations.

The champion of Liga Eraman, Royal Daulapura were drawn in Group E alongside Rotor Blewbury from Lathamford, Perseguput Gunung Putri from Sendhang, and Lewcaster from Hundredstar. Their first match of the group stage was against Lewcaster from Hundredstar at home and a goal from a beautiful free kick taken by Emma Balmer in the first half was enough for Royal Daulapura to start the new campaign with a win.

Anara also had no trouble winning their first match of the CMFA Champions League group stage. They entertained the visit of Pescam Campuhan who made the trip across the Sripala Sea from neighboring Pemecutan. Gelereth Pirastadhaunden who was signed by Anara for $1 million from Maynard AFC 4 years ago once again showed that he is on another level than the Melayuans after scoring a brace in a convincing 2-0 Anara win.

Elsewhere, Royal Puncakpura was drawn in Group C alongside Sendhangite champion KS Tapaklaboh, Dynamo Buttercourt from Lathamford and University de Wotpoot from Hundredstar made the trip across the Mitra Sea to Lathamford for their first match of the group against Dymano Buttercourt. Lathamford just had an amazing run in the Baptism of Fire last month in which they made it deep into the knockout stage and Dynamo Buttercourt again showed that the future of football in Lathamford is bright after two goals from Matt Falconderry were not replied by the Eramanians.

Mitra, who returned to continental football for the second time after the annexation of Mitra and Soma by Eraman 7 years ago also had an away trip for their first match of the CMFA Champions League. The trip to Spoltekia in Opatzland far in the northwest corner of the Melayu Archipelago was a disappointing one for the Pirates as they failed to rob a single point away from the champion of Opatzland.

Liga Eraman - Matchday 4

Royal Arupura 1–2 Damaisari
Royal Puncakpura 3–0 Sentari
Soma 1–1 Royal Baktipura
Anara 0–3 Royal Daulapura
Mitra 1–2 Dunyalam
Malkan 1–1 Siasari

11 Siasari 4 0 1 3 3 6 −3 1
12 Malkan 4 0 1 3 2 10 −8 1

Mitra, who had a 100% record before the week succumbed to their second defeat of the week as they lost at home to Dunyalam who is yet to get a single point before the week.

"Unacceptable. We rotated the squad a little bit for tonight after the CMFA Champions League match in the midweek but the players who were brought in failed to turn up tonight," said the Mitra head coach, Made Setiawan after the match.

Mitra was not the only club to lose their 100% record in Matchday 3 as Anara also succumbed to their first defeat of the season at the hands of their arch-rival, Royal Daulapura in the Capital Derby. It was a night the City Boys would want to forget as quickly as possible as they lost 3-0 at home to the goals of Emma Balmer, Era Hitam, and Ilias Rezal.

Royal Puncakpura, who lost in their CMFA Champions League match in the midweek returned to winning ways after a convincing 3-0 home win over Sentari. The win put Manuel O'Neill's side at the top of the table as the only side with a 100% record after 4 matches.

11 Siasari 5 1 1 3 5 7 −2 4
12 Malkan 5 0 1 4 2 13 −11 1

The match of the week is between second-placed Royal Daulapura and third-placed Mitra. Before the annexation of Mitra and Soma by Eraman 7 years ago, this match can only be witnessed in the CMFA Champions League stage, as both clubs dominated the Liga Eraman and Mitra and Soma League respectively. But those days are long gone. Royal Daulapura is no longer the only dominant side in Eraman while Mitra is no longer in the small pond. The match was sold out with 45,000 Royal Daulapura fans inside the Daulapura Stadium and The Royalties didn't disappoint them. A goal each from Era Hitam, Karipa Senawang, and Wikra Petara sealed a convincing win over their title rival. A late goal from Rama Karyadi for Mitra proved to be only a consolation. 3-1 to Royal Daulapura.

Elsewhere, the league leader Royal Puncakpura traveled to Damaisari with the aim to continue their lead at the top. It didn't happen though. Damaisari was up for the challenge on the night and got the lead through veteran national team striker, Buisan Buayan in the first half. An equalizer from Pandu Oka Jaya ensured that Royal Puncakpura returns to Puncak with a point and keeping them at the top of the table, only a point above Royal Daulapura and Anara.

10 Damaisari 6 1 2 3 6 10 −4 5
11 Royal Baktipura 6 1 1 4 7 12 −5 4
12 Malkan 6 0 1 5 2 15 −13 1

Royal Puncakpura finally lost their place at the top of the table after another draw on their visit to Royal Arupura. Goals from Pandu Oka Jaya and Serigala Rudra were not enough to get Royal Puncakpura the 3 points as Royal Arupura replied through goals from Dava Kudrat and Dela Sama.

Overtaking them are Royal Daulapura and Anara who both got a 2-0 victory against Malkan and Sentari respectively. Malkan who is yet to record a win in the league had no answer to Royal Daulapura dominance in the middle of the park led by Emma Balmer and were on the back foot for the whole match. A goal in each half by Emma Balmer and Ilias Rezal sealed the win for Royal Daulapura. As for Anara, two early goals from Gelereth Pirastadhaunden and Kilat Saputra were enough in their routine win against Sentari.

The Mitranese and Somanese clubs also recorded a convincing victory at home to keep up with the league leaders with Mitra recording a big 3-0 win over Royal Baktipura through goals from Sagari Krita, Rama Karyadi, and Wira Matari while Soma won a hard-fought battle against Damaisari thanks to Bayu Narmada for the only goal of the night.

Week 3 - Month 3 - Year 7

CMFA Champions League - Group Stage Matchday 2

University de Wotpoot (HDS) 0-0 Royal Puncakpura
Royal Daulapura 0-0 Rotor Blewbury (LFD)
Dinamo Thetford (LFD) 1-1 Mitra
Anara 4-2 Lokomotive Featherwood (LFD)

Questions were raised on the performance of Royal Puncakpura after another draw, this time in the CMFA Champions League away at Unversity de Wotpoot in Hundredstar. The Miners were held to a scoreless draw and ended the month with not a single win after drawing all 3 of their matches in the calendar month.

Elsewhere, there is a mini Eraman vs Lathamford battle as the other 3 Eramanian clubs in the CMFA Champions League each playing against clubs from Lathamford but only Anara was triumphant at home against Lokomotive Featherwood. Royal Daulapura and Mitra received the same fate as Royal Puncakpura as they were held by Rotor Blewbury and Dinamo Thetford.

Liga Eraman 7 - Review (Month 4)

Postby Eraman » Tue Sep 07, 2021 11:06 am

MONTH 4 - YEAR 7

Week 1 - Month 4 - Year 7

CMFA Champions League - Group Stage Matchday 3

Royal Puncakpura 0-3 KS Tapaklaboh (SDG)
Perseguput Gunung Putri (SDG) 1-1 Royal Daulapura
Mitra 4-1 Pesub Ubung (PCU)
Samaul FC (ACS) 0-4 Anara

The national team players returned to their respective clubs after going away for international duty for a week. The top 4 clubs opened their action in Month 4 with a CMFA Champions League match in the midweek. Royal Puncakpura head coach, Manuel O'Neill was hoping that their bad form in Month 3 will stop. Their opponent in the CMFA Champions League was however the champion of Sendhang, KS Tapaklaboh. A hat-trick from Sendhang national team striker, Teuku Salahudin condemned Royal Puncakpura to a 3-0 defeat at home to put more pressure on Manuel O'Neill.

The champion of Eraman, Royal Daulapura on the other hand made the trip to Sendhang to face Perseguput Gunung Putri who finished fourth in the Sendhangite league. The tough match ended in a 1-1 draw with Ilias Rezal giving Royal Daulapura the lead in the first half before Perseguput Gunung Putri found the equalizer in the second half through Joroq Mendriq.

The most-awaited match of the week was however held in Mitra for the match between Mitra and Pesub Ubung, the champion of Pemecutan. Mitra and Ubung are just a stone's throw away from each other. Geographically, Mitra is closer to Ubung than Anara, the capital city of Eraman itself. The hype can be felt on both sides of the border. The matchday tickets were sold out days before the match. Thousands of Pesub Ubung made the short trip to Mitra only to watch their side get trashed by 4-1 by the home side. Nobody would have expected the scoreline. It was totally Mitra's night.

Far in the northern part of the Melayu Mainland, the City Boys had no trouble collecting 3 points after trashing Samaul FC in Acastanha. Gelereth Pirastadhaunden who had a week's rest during the international break propelled Anara to victory after scoring a brace and assisting the Saputra brothers for the other two goals.

Liga Eraman - Matchday 7

Dunyalam 1–3 Royal Arupura
Royal Daulapura 1–0 Siasari
Royal Baktipura 1–1 Malkan
Sentari 1–1 Mitra

Royal Daulapura opens the lead at the top of the table to 3 points after securing a slim 1-0 victory over Siasari while the other 3 title hopefuls failed to get the full three points.

The midweek fixtures seem to be taking a toll on the Big 4 as they struggle against their respective opponent. Mitra who had an amazing 4-1 victory over the champion of Pemecutan, Pesub Ubung in the midweek was tied at Sentari. Anara who returned from Acastanha with a 4-0 victory over Samaul were beaten by Damaisari. Royal Puncakpura was tied with Soma to make it 5 matches without a win for the Miners. Even Royal Daulapura who recorded a win was not very convincing in their performance.

Royal Puncakpura head coach, Manuel O'Neill was under a lot of pressure after recording no victory in the last 5 matches, recording 4 draws and a defeat. He was handed an official show cause letter by the club, signed by Putra Puncakpura Dol Pekan himself, the owner of Royal Puncakpura two days after the draw with Soma and four days before the important match away at Anara who is in third place.

Under pressure, Manuel O'Neill's pre-match press conference a day before the match became a heated one. It started when a reporter asked about the possibility of changing tactics against Anara on the basis that the opponent has studied Manuel O'Neill's tactics and strategy. A little bit annoyed by the question, O'Neill stated that studying the opponent is normal in football. Everyone does it. He has studied Sembara Bunian's tactic too as well as the strength, weaknesses, characteristics, and reactions of every single player playing for Anara and all the other previous opponents.

Pressed on further by the reporter on the possibility of changing the tactic against Anara after 5 winless matches in a row, O'Neill burst out.

"So how do you want us to play?" asked Manuel O'Neill to the reporter while looking at him directly in the eyes. He repeated the same question 3 times before continuing. "I have to play with the quality that I have in the squad. Our tactics that you said have been studied by the opponents are good enough to get us in the top 2. We have only lost 1 match throughout the season and that's in the CMFA Champions League. So do you want us to change our tactic every time we lose? Do you want us to pump the ball directly forward? You have to look at the size of our players. All these opponents that have studied us, why can't they win against us?" he continued.

Royal Puncakpura ended their winless run with a hard-fought 3-2 away win at Anara a day after the press conference to keep up with the league leader, Royal Daulapura who recorded a 4-0 victory at Dunyalam.

Brimming with confidence after the win against Anara, Royal Puncakpura entertained the visit of another title of hopeful, Mitra in Week 3 but a repeat of the performance against Anara didn't happen as Pandu Oka Jaya's lead for Royal Puncakpura was canceled by Rama Karyadi's equalizer.

Royal Daulapura fully capitalized on Royal Puncakpura's misfortune to further the gap at the top to 5 points with a slim win over Royal Arupura thanks to Emma Balmer for the only goal of the game.

Anara who lost their last 2 matches return to winning ways at Soma who has been climbing up the league table

Lewcaster (LFD) 0-1 Royal Daulapura

Trouble in Puncakpura as Royal Puncakpura lost 2-0 at home to Dynamo Buttercourt, seriously threatening their qualification chance to the knockout stage of the CMFA Champions League. It was Royal Puncakpura's second defeat in the group stage of the CMFA Champions League.

Elsewhere, no problem for the other 3 Eramanian clubs in the CMFA Champions League as Royal Daulapura, Mitra and Anara won and kept a clean sheet against their respective opponents, keeping their hope to qualify to the knockout stage alive.

The Eraman Cup kicks off in the last week of Month 4. 24 clubs from both Liga Eraman and Liga Eraman 2 will be competing to win the cup. The top 8 clubs in the previous season of Liga Eraman get a bye to the Round of 16. The other 4 clubs in Liga Eraman will compete in the Round of 24 with the clubs from Liga Eraman 2.

The biggest surprise of the first round of the Eraman Cup was seen in Baktipura as the Liga Eraman 2 leader, Royal Pasirpura won against the Liga Eraman side, Royal Baktipura. The win has put Royal Pasirpura on the radar. Royal Pasirpura was rejuvenated at the end of last year when a change of ownership happened where the Crown Prince of Puncak was handed the ownership of the club by his father, the King of Puncak. The Crown Prince of Puncak is ambitious with the club and made a lot of investment especially in bringing the best Liga Eraman 2 players to his club. The win against Royal Baktipura has opened the eyes of the whole country towards the little project in south Eraman.

The league leader, Royal Daulapura entertained the visit of Royal Baktipura in the first week of Month 5. Royal Daulapura came into the game brimming with confidence having not lost their last 11 matches in all competitions. But the Royalties were shocked by two counterattacks that led to two goals for Royal Baktipura who lost to Liga Eraman 2 league leader, Royal Pasirpura last week in the Eraman Cup round of 24.

The defeat of Royal Daulapura though was not capitalized by their closest rival in the table, Royal Puncakpura. Royal Puncakpura made a visit to Malkan but was only able to get a point after an exciting high-scoring 3-3 draw. In the action at the Malkan Stadium, luck was not on the side of Royal Puncakpura even though they were leading until the 80th minute. The scoring was opened by Malkan in the 25th minute through right-winger, Samara Grawira who shot the ball from outside of the penalty box after a corner kick by Soloso Lalago. Shocked by the goal, the away side managed to equalize 5 minutes later after Pemecutan national team striker, Pandu Oka Jaya's curling shot from inside the penalty box made its way into the goal. Pandu Oka Jaya added another 4 minutes later showing his skill with his individual movement before scoring. The away side scored its third just before the breakthrough Serigala Rudra, putting them in a comfortable position at the break. Malkan came back stronger in the second half, first scoring their second in the 65th minute through Loto Manaia before Samara Grawira scored the equalizer for Malkan in the 80th minute to stop Royal Puncakpura from getting the 3 points.

To make it worse, Royal Puncakpura also lost their second spot to Anara who had a slim 2-1 victory away at Royal Arupura.

Royal Puncakpura who has been the draw specialist in the league, having drawn half of their 10 league matches finally falls to their first defeat in the league in the second week of Month 5 at the hands of struggling Siasari. Anara took this chance to widen the gap between them and Royal Puncakpura in third place to 4 points with a home win against Mitra in a tightly contested match that ended in a 2-1 result. At the top of the table, Royal Daulapura maintains their lead with a very convincing 3-0 win over Sentari.

A win for all the Eramanian clubs in the CMFA Champions League except for Mitra who lost at home to Dinamo Thetford. It is their second defeat in a row after losing to Anara last weekend and left their chance to qualify to the knockout stage hanging. Royal Daulapura and Anara are through to the knockout stage with one group match left to be played. However, despite the win, it is now mathematically impossible for Royal Puncakpura to qualify to the knockout stage.

The squad depth of the Big 4 was tested in Matchday 12 with matches coming thick and fast especially with the last group match of the CMFA Champions League next week in mind. Squad rotation was used by the head coaches and the result was shocking. The league leader, Royal Daulapura made the trip to Damaisari without their foreign players. No Ilias Rezal. No Emma Balmer. No David Kemper. The result? No points were collected from the trip as they lost 3-2 to Damaisari. Mitra and Royal Puncakpura also failed to collect 3 points as they were both held to a 1-1 draw by bottom sides, Royal Arupura and Dunyalam respectively. Anara also had a tough match against Malkan at home but somehow managed to get out of the tie with a win, despite not playing really well. The win put Anara level on point with the league leader, Royal Daulapura.

A disappointing end for Mitra in the CMFA Champion League as they were held by Pemecutan champion, Pesub Ubung to a 1-1 draw. Mitra needed a win to qualify to the knockout stage but fall just short of it. Two Eramanian clubs, Royal Daulapura and Anara will continue their journey in the knockout stage.

Siasari (LE) 1-1 Mandiri (LE2) (2-1 AET)
Sentari (LE) 3-2 Royal Puncakpura (LE)
Mitra (LE) 2-1 Royal Arupura (LE)

Two major surprises in the Eraman Cup Round of 16, the elimination of Royal Puncakpura by Sentari and the rise of Liga Eraman 2 sides, Royal Pasirpura who knocked out top division side, Malkan. No trouble for the other usual suspects.

Liga Eraman 7 - Review (Month 6)

Postby Eraman » Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:47 am

MONTH 6 - YEAR 7

Week 3 - Month 6 - Year 7

IFCF Champions League First Preliminary Round (First Leg)

Crownville FC (GRN) 2-1 Royal Daulapura (ERM)

Domestic football is on a mid-season break but the top clubs will be busy in continental and worldwide club football competitions. The defending Liga Eraman champion, Royal Daulapura is the sole Eramanian club in the most prestigious club football competition, the IFCF Champions League. They start their campaign in the first preliminary round with a visit to Grandistania to play Crownville FC, the champion of Grandistanian Football League.

Crownville FC was not expected to be an obstacle for Royal Daulapura. Grandistania is not known to be a good footballing country and this is their first time in the IFCF Champions League. So the Royal Daulapura camp was confident. But their confidence was quickly slashed as they lost 2-1 in the first leg. Crownville FC was not to be underestimated.

IFCF Challengers Cup Extra Preliminary Round (First Leg)

Royal Puncakpura (ERM) 2-1 FC Inter Nantwich (TMB)
FK Steinnkjer (KLD) 3-1 Mitra (ERM)

Two other Eramanian clubs, Royal Puncakpura and Mitra started their campaign in the extra preliminary round of the IFCF Challengers Cup a day after Royal Daulapura defeat. Royal Puncakpura entertained the visit of FC Inter Nantwich from Tumbra while Mitra made the trip to Kaldtfjell to play FK Steinnkjer.

In the action at the Puncakpura Stadium, Royal Puncakpura showed a high-quality performance with neat passes and high defensive discipline. The Miners opened the scoring as early as the 9th minute through Pemecutan national team sensational striker, Pandu Oka Jaya who cleverly beat the offside trap to beat FC Inter Nantwich goalkeeper, Nick Barker. The celebration however lasted only five minutes when the striker from Audioslavia, Josep Ros scored the equalizer for FC Inter Nantwich in the 14th minute. The score remained 1-1 until the break. Royal Puncakpura's winning goal was contributed by the local boy, Serigala Rudra after the Eraman national team playmaker scored a stunning goal from outside the penalty box in the 69th minute thus completing the Miners' victory. The victory is not a comfortable enough lead for the Manuel O'Neill boys to be brought to the Nantwich Stadium for the return leg on the weekend.

Mitra on the other hand was humiliated 3-1 on their trip to Kaldfjell by FK Steinnkjer who finished third in the Toppliga Kaldfjell last season.

IFCF Challengers Cup Extra Preliminary Round (Second Leg)

FC Inter Nantwich (TMB) 3-2 Royal Puncakpura (ERM)
Aggregate: Royal Puncakpura a4-4 FC Inter Nantwich (TMB)

Mitra (ERM) 1-0 FK Steinnkjer (KLD)
Aggregate: FK Steinnkjer 3-2 Mitra

They met again for the return leg on the weekend three days later. Mitra managed to redeem themselves in the match at home with a win but the 1-0 win was not enough as FK Steinnkjer won 3-2 on aggregate.

In the Nantwich Stadium, it was a fight until the end between FC Inter Nantwich and Royal Puncakpura. The Tumbrans managed to win the match with a 3-2 scoreline but away goal rules ensured Royal Puncakpura passage to the next round after the match ended 4-4 on aggregate.

CMFA Champions League Round of 16 (First Leg)

Anara (ERM) 3-1 Spoltekia Kapitol (OPT)
Royal Daulapura (ERM) 3-0 Shaftegil FC (HDS)

The first leg of the CMFA Champions League round of 16 was held on the same weekend as Anara and Royal Daulapura entertained the visit of Spoltekia Kapitol from Opatzland and Shaftegil from Hundredstar respectively. No problem for the top 2 Eramanian clubs as they won their home tie 3-1 and 3-0 respectively.

Week 4 - Month 6 - Year 7

IFCF Champions League First Preliminary Round (Second Leg)

Royal Daulapura (ERM) 1-1 Crownville FC (GRN)
Aggregate: Crownville FC 3-2 Royal Daulapura

Royal Daulapura came into the match with the hope that they can turn the tie around after they were defeated 2-1 in the first leg away from home. They tried their best to win on the night but the Crownville FC defense was so stubborn to let the goal in despite being attacked continuously. The Royalties were held to a 1-1 draw at home and send them crashing to the IFCF Challengers Cup.

IFCF Challengers Cup First Preliminary Round (First Leg)

Anara (ERM) 4-0 Perseguput Gunung Putri (SDG)
Royal Puncakpura (ERM) 2-1 Mancodas Athletic FC (PFA)

The IFCF Challengers Cup continues for the first preliminary round a day after Royal Daulapura was knocked out in the IFCF Champions Cup. Royal Puncakpura who won against FC Inter Nantwich from Tumbra last week in the extra preliminary round entertained the visit of a tougher opponent, Mancodas Athletic FC from Poafmersia. Mancodas Athletic FC was the favorite to win the tie but they were shocked on the night by Royal Puncakpura who had an amazing 2-1 victory in front of their faithful fans.

Meanwhile, Anara started their campaign in the IFCF Challengers Cup in the first preliminary round against fellow Melayuan, Perseguput Gunung Putri from Sendhang. Sendhang is a newcomer to the international football scene. So Anara was expected to win the tie comfortably and they duly delivered with a convincing 4-0 victory.

IFCF Challengers Cup First Preliminary Round (Second Leg)

Perseguput Gunung Putri (SDG) 0-1 Anara (ERM)
Aggregate: Anara 5-0 Perseguput Gunung Putri

Mancodas Athletic FC (PFA) 2-0 Royal Puncakpura (ERM)
Aggregate: Royal Puncakpura 2-3 Mancodas Athletic FC (PFA)

On the weekend, Anara had to divide their squad into two to play both Perseguput Gunung Putri and Spoltekia Kapitol the day after. Despite fielding a weaker side, Anara still managed to confirm their place into the next round of the IFCF Challengers Cup with a 1-0 away at Perseguput Gunung Putri. Royal Puncakpura was however denied of their dream of progressing into the next round as they failed to hold on to their lead from the first leg and lost 2-0 away at Mancodas Athletic FC.

CMFA Champions League Round of 16 (Second Leg)

Spoltekia Kapitol (OPT) 1-2 Anara (ERM)
Aggregate: Anara 5-2 Spoltekia Kapitol

Shaftegil FC (HDS) 2-1 Royal Daulapura (ERM)
Aggregate: Royal Daulapura 4-2 Shaftegil FC

The other half of the Anara squad traveled to Opatzland for their CMFA Champions League round of 16 matches against Spoltekia Kapitol. It was a great week for Anara as they beat the side from Opatzland, showing their strength in depth as they won both of their matches on the weekend. Royal Daulapura who also fielded their second-string players after their convincing win in the first leg was defeated 2-1 by Shategil FC from Hundredstar. The 3-0 first-leg win was however enough to send Royal Daulapura into the quarter-final of the CMFA Champions League. Great weekend for Eraman football as both of the Eramanian clubs left in the CMFA Champion League made it through to the quarter-final.

Liga Eraman 8 - Review

Postby Eraman » Thu Aug 11, 2022 1:20 pm

Image
Year 8

Review

The return of Royal Pasirpura to top-flight football was the talking point at the start of the Liga Eraman Year 8 season. This is not the same Royal Pasirpura that got relegated 6 years ago. This is the Royal Pasirpura under the leadership of the Crown Prince of Pasir himself. The Kingdom of Pasir is the second richest kingdom in the country after the Kingdom of Daula. Everyone knows they have money. That's why when the Crown Prince announced that he was taking over the club, they got the attention of everyone even though Royal Pasirpura was only in Liga Eraman 2 at that time.

"The state of football in my kingdom is dire, and I have to change that," said the Crown Prince a year ago when he was announced as the new owner of Royal Pasirpura, the biggest football club in the Kingdom of Pasir.

And he did just that. He started his reign by signing all the best Liga Eraman 2 players and as a result, earned a promotion to Liga Eraman for this season. Then, at the start of this season, the new signing of the foreign trio of Pemecutan national team striker Leo Olivaldo, Tumbran midfield enforcer Robert Powell and Zeta Rekan center-back Janko Yakowic shows that the prince really meant business. Despite that, nobody put their bet at the start of the season on Royal Pasirpura to win the title. After all, they have just begun. Their local players are still the same Liga Eraman 2 players. But the club from the southern state continues to shock everyone with strings of impressive performance and in the end, finished third in their debut season.

The favorite for the title was again the defending champion, Anara, the most successful club in the country, Royal Daulapura, and the only other team to ever won the league, Royal Puncakpura. These 3 clubs have been the most dominant sides in the country and have qualified for continental football consistently since the league's inception 10 years ago. And everyone expected them to continue their dominance. But no, that did not happen. Royal Puncakpura and Anara did not turn up. To make it worse, Royal Puncakpura was so off the title race that they even failed to secure a continental spot for the first time in its history by finishing seventh, their lowest ever finish.

Instead, the title race was between Royal Daulapura and Mitra, the most successful club in the history of Mitra & Soma. Mitra had a strong start and maintained a comfortable lead at the top before their form dropped at the end of the season for Royal Daulapura to finally overtake them on Matchday 19. Royal Daulapura was hot on form by then and was not to be caught. Another splendid season for Royal Daulapura, another trophy in the cabinet.

Liga Eraman 9 - Review

Year 9

Review

For the first time in Liga Eraman's history, at least 5 teams have set their target to win the league title at the start of the season. The two traditional giants, Royal Daulapura and Anara alongside their main contender, Royal Puncakpura will now be challenged by another 2 clubs with big ambitions, Royal Pasirpura and Mitra.

Mitra who was involved in the title race with Royal Daulapura last season was looking to repeat their feat. Their performance last year made them believe that they are good enough for the title, especially with Pemecutan national team midfielder, Rama Karyadi at the heart of the team. They thought they can win the league.

Royal Pasirpura was another club who were looking to build on their performance from last season where they finished third in their return back in the top flight. And they were not playing around. The club owned by the Crown Prince of Pasir shows that they were serious by having the second biggest budget in the league. And with Leo Olivando, the best foreign player in the league at their disposal, they too thought they can win the league.

Royal Puncakpura on the other hand were looking to bounce back from a disappointing season where they finished seventh in the league, their lowest ever finish in history. But with their status and record, having never finished outside of the top 4 except for last season, they too thought they can bounce back and win the league.

Then there's Royal Daulapura and Anara, the 2 most successful clubs in the country. Of course, they thought they can win the league.

Everyone thought they can win the league. But then, the actual title race was between Royal Daulapura, Royal Pasirpura, Anara, and the surprise package, Damaisari. Mitra failed to build on their performance from last season while Royal Puncakpura succumbed to their second ever season outside of the top 4.

Royal Pasirpura was so close to winning it. They had a 3-point lead over Royal Daulapura going into the final match of the season. All they need to do was to avoid defeat on their visit to Royal Puncakpura. But they were trashed 4-1. Overcomplacency? Pressure? Or both? As a result, Royal Daulapura who beat Siasari 2-1 on the final matchday caught up with Royal Pasirpura on the league table on 42 points, winning the league by goal difference. What an end? Two in a row for Royal Daulapura.

Liga Eraman 10 - Review

Year 10

Review

The presence of the four players with World Cup experience became the topic of conversation for local football fans. Names like Leo Olivando (Royal Pasirpura), Rama Karyadi (Mitra), Pandu Oka Jaya (Royal Puncakpura) and Bayu Narmada (Soma) attracted wider interest in the league. Matchday tickets were sold out earlier and TV viewership increased significantly every time the 4 teams that feature Pemecutanan national team players played.

However, the battle for the league title features none of the teams that have the Pemecutanan national team players on their book. The battle for the league title was between the two traditional giants, Royal Daulapura and Anara who have the best local players as well as reliable foreign players such as Emma Balmer (Kohnhead), David Kemper (Commonwealth of Baker Park), Gelereth Pirastadhaunden (Ko-oren) and Peliniho (TJUN-ia).

The two teams were so dominant that they remained undefeated until the 15th match. All the other teams have lost at least 6 matches by then. Royal Daulapura only saw their first defeat of the season in the 16th match when they lost 2-0 at home against Damaisari. A week later, Anara suffered their first defeat of the season, a shocking 1-0 defeat at home against Sentari.

The title had to be decided in the last match of the season. Going into the final match, Anara was at the top of the league with 47 points, one point ahead of Royal Daulapura. In the final match, Royal Daulapura entertained the visit of relegation battler Royal Arupura while Anara entertained the visit of Mitra who has sealed a spot in the IFCF Challengers Cup.

In the end, it was Royal Daulapura who became triumphant again for the third time in a row as they beat Royal Arupura while Anara was tied to a scoreless draw by Mitra. The Year 10 Liga Eraman is the first season where 5 international spots are up for grab from the Eraman's top division, an increase from 4 spots in the previous seasons. With an extra IFCF Champions League spot, both Royal Daulapura and Anara will represent Eraman in the most prestigious club football competition.

The best player of the season though doesn't come from Royal Daulapura or Anara. The award goes to the sensational striker Leo Olivando who carried Royal Pasirpura to a third-place finish by scoring half of their goals, winning the Golden Boot award in the process. His national team teammate, Rama Karyadi will also be joining him in the IFCF Challengers Cup as Mitra finished fourth. The last international spot went to the aging but rich with experience Damaisari squad.

Is Liga Eraman a retirement league?

Anara: The foreign players policy remained the same as last season with each team allowed to have a maximum of 3 foreign players on their books including 1 Mandalanusan quota. This season, a total of 29 foreign players will be playing in Liga Eraman with each team having at least 1 foreign player.

However, out of the 29 foreign players in the league, 17 are over the age of 30. This begs the question, is Liga Eraman a retirement league? At least 1 player, the 38 years old Tumbran, Robert Powell who is playing for Royal Pasirpura has announced that he is retiring at the end of this season. He is not even the oldest player in the league, that title goes to the ever-reliable 39 years old left back from the Commonwealth of Baker Park, David Kemper who is playing for the champion, Royal Daulapura.

The tendency to have experienced foreign players is not just limited to the two richest clubs in the country, Royal Daulapura and Royal Pasirpura but is also shared throughout the league with 9 out of the 12 clubs having at least 1 player over the age of 30. Yes except for the cash-strapped Dunyalam, Sentari, and Mantera who had to opt for the cheaper Sharktailian, all the other top-flight Eramanian clubs have at least 1 player over the age of 30.

If Liga Eraman is a retirement league, what does that say about the state of Eramanian football? It is no secret that there are only a few quality Eramanian local players. Even then, most of them have been snapped up by the oil-rich Royal Daulapura. So the clubs rely heavily on their foreign players to lead their respective clubs. A lot is expected from a foreign player in the league. They are not just expected to lead the team but also to be a level better than the locals.

If we looked at the league's top scorer's table last season, we can see that the top three players on the list are all foreign players. The list is topped by the 26 years old Pemecutan national team striker, Leo Olivando of Royal Pasirpura with 20 goals. It is followed by the 33 years old striker from Ko-oren, Gelereth Pirastadhaunden of Anara with 18 goals. The third spot on the list is occupied by the 29 years old Sharktail national team striker, Illias Rezal of Royal Daulapura with 15 goals.

This is seen as the main reason that led the clubs to opt for proven experienced foreign players. They are just better than the locals. Is it a bad thing to be a retirement league? Only time will tell. One thing for sure, these experienced foreign players are making the league more competitive and fun to watch.

Here is the list of all the foreign players that will be playing in Liga Eraman this year:

Liga Eraman 11 - Review

Year 11

Review

Last season was the first season where two Eramanian clubs were eligible for the IFCF Champions League. The two Eramanian clubs in the IFCF Champions League last season, the league champion, Royal Daulapura, and the league runner-up, Anara was expected to battle it out for the league title again this season alongside the newly-rich Royal Pasirpura.

However, the season started badly for Anara as they lost their opening match away at Soma followed by a 1-1 draw at home with Royal Puncakpura. Only 1 point for Anara from the first two matches while the other two title challengers collected the maximum 6 points was not a start they were expecting. They managed to regain their footing with a 3-1 win over newly-promoted Mantera in their third match but the momentum was already with Royal Daulapura and Royal Pasirpura.

At the halfway round, after 11 matches have been played, Royal Daulapura and Royal Pasirpura were already on 27 points, 8 points clear of Anara in third place who was only on 19 points. The chance of Anara winning the league title was already slim and the gap was too big to close. It was a two-horse race for the title from then on, between the two richest clubs in the country, Royal Daulapura, and Royal Pasirpura.

The battle between Royal Daulapura and Royal Pasirpura was an interesting one as it was also seen as the battle between the two best strikers in Mandalanusa, the Sharktail national team striker Illias Rezal who plays for Royal Daulapura, and the Pemecutan national team striker Leo Olivando who plays for Royal Pasirpura. Both strikers were in top form all season long, scoring goals for fun, and helping their respective teams to win matches. The two strikers ended up scoring over 15 goals respectively this season and were both nominated for the Liga Eraman Player of the Year award.

In the end, it was Illias Rezal who were supported by better players that lifted the league trophy with Royal Daulapura at the end of the season. They managed to stay consistent throughout the league with 16 wins, 3 draws, and 3 defeats whereas Royal Pasirpura was struggling for form in the second half of the season after only collecting 17 points from the last 11 matches.

It is the 4th straight league title for Royal Daulapura, a very impressive achievement even for the most successful club in the country. They will be accompanied by Royal Pasirpura in the IFCF Champions League next season which is going to be their first-ever appearance at the most prestigious club football tournament in the world.
