Pilots take off using the strip and immediately find themselves over the very forest that The Frozen Forest is named for. The deciduous greenery below is beautiful and marks the safer part of the course. There is no height requirement for this part of the course, however it is ill advised to fly above 600m due to the dangerous turbulence. The first checkpoint of the course is the Greater Fjollum Mountain Peaks. Pilots must pass through the opening between the Peaks and may not fly over them. After passing through, the turbulence grows and pilots have the choice of dropping lower to the ground or remaining high in the air. Pilots must make a half circle turn in order to pass beside the beautiful and dangerous Erikson Falls. After passing by the Waterfall Pilots must make a dash forwards until they reach yet another set of twin peaks, which they must pass through once again. After passing through they must make another half circle turn and begin to return to the Second Fjollum Regional Airstrip. This final half-circle turn involves some of the worse turbulence in The Frozen Forest, Pilots are advised not to take it too sharply.

No worries. One slight quibble, though. The name of the fortress city is Dürrdürrwüste. The desert is the Tintenfisch desert.

I like the idea. Would you mind me writing their conversation before the grand race and send it to you for approval before posting? I really want to see, where these 'control stick issues' go... ; )

They're also going to be in particularly high spirits, as it so happens the race falls on Emperor Jebediah's birthday, so both the Emperor and Prime Minister Valentina Kerman will be attending the race. Yes, that does mean there will be parties in just about every bar, tavern, and restaurant not in the race area or typically "reserved" for dates. Considering there's a Wasserarmee base about two hours up the road, expect several of those parties to be marked by sea shanties sung very loudly and ever-so-slightly out of tune.
As far as how the people will be dressed, it will be standard fare, though there will be some who bring out the kind of clothing one might expect a peasant in Ye Olde times to wear to church/a wedding (that they've probably been lovingly maintaining since those were the latest formalwear fashions). There's also a small temple to the Krakken that will be hosting their traditional sacrifice of 500 cakes to both with Emperor Jeb a happy birthday and ask the Krakken to watch over him.

Alright, thank you - the Selkie will feel right at home! ; )
Probably commemorating the occassion by wearing Geansai or other formal dress, but that's another story. ; )
