Another World Cup cycle has ended, and this means it's time for a new Copa Rushmori edition, the thirtieth one! With Valladares claiming victory in the twenty-ninth and most recent Copa Rushmori, held on home soil, now we move on to a new edition in which a new winner could potentially claim a piece of silverware and inscribe its name in the Roll of Honour, and that winner could be YOU!

IMPORTANT:

• New nations joining Rushmore after the moment this thread was posted are ineligible to join.
• Regulars returning from CTE status after the moment this thread was posted may join, provided that they have competed in at least two (back-to-back) of the previous 29 Copa editions.
• Only one puppet will be allowed per OOC user (who must declare it as such when entering it) and their final inclusion into the tournament will be entirely up to host discretion.

CaXXXadaigua- Official Copa Rushmori 30 Hosting Bid

I) Introduction

Hello, fellow Rushmori nations! All of us at the Cassadagan Association For Soccer Excellence would like to present to you for consideration this official hosting bid to bring the Copa Rushmori to Cassadaigua. As a former two-time World Cup champion, we have plenty of passion for the sport, and are ready to host the best nations in the soccer world, without interference from those other regions.

II) Experience

This is the first time that we have placed a bid to host a regional competition, but our track record in hosting events speaks for itself. World Baseball Classic 43 will become the latest event to have been successfully hosted here. It is just one of four such Classics we have hosted. We’ve also co-hosted the World Cup on two occasions (54 and 67), as well as Cup of Harmony 57 and Baptism of Fire 47. We’ve done the World Bowl, and the International Basketball Championships. It’s time now to add this special regional competition to that list.

III) Format

Based on prior signup history, the goal will be for 20 or 24 participating nations. 24 is the main goal. However, in the possible event of an above average number of signups, we will accommodate a larger number. With a 24 nation setup, there will be six groups of four playing single round robin with all games played in Cassadaigua. The top two teams per group will advance to the knockout stages, along with the four top third-place teams.

Tiebreakers will be:
1) H2H Result
2) H2H GD
3) Overall GD
4) # of wins
5) Overall (fewest) GA
6) “Coin Toss” (Team with the greater accumulated RP bonus advances).

IV) Scorination

The competition will be scorination by using xkoranate, v 0.3.3. The SQIS formula, with additive style modifiers ranging from -5 to +5 will be implemented. Current Copa Rushmori ranks will be utilized, and RP bonus will be very generous. As always, in RP, quality is preferred over quantity.
