Huh... These are some really odd results. Sorry, everyone - going to go and check some things.

EDIT: WGPO Announcement concerning the most recent WGP2 race

XD That was great, Nimbus! I unfortunately came a bit late and saw the RETE-Con first, before seeing the results or your announcement here, but it was still quite the moment clicking that spoiler to reveal the track! :D And the cutoff song is perfect—now that's the kind of motorsport I'm familiar with. (And apparently our drivers aren't any better than I am at rainbow road!)

I'm also going to go ahead and hope assume that

is an April fool's joke too, despite what the forum timestamp is telling me.

That was awesome and funny, haha! Great work, Nimbus!
(Sorry if this sounded sarcastic. It didn't really translate well into text; I actually laughed at it, and was like "Damnnn that was a throwback to a notorious course!")

I wrote one myself for the fun of it, so... hopefully that doesn't count into the word limit or the RP bonus. I just have fun writing it. :3

Nimbus, is it possible for DNFs to happen in a qualifying round? I like to introduce a small chance in the Pryfurium race that there would be one or two who can't attend qualifying because of Diarcesia's arrival quotas caused by COVID-19.

I don't believe so, I'm afraid...

I'm sorry that this one went over the word limit by 100, totaling at 1100, excluding the headers and positions/placements.

Diarcesia and I have been in conference; the official explanation for the safety car on Lap 2 is now intrusion by a lynx. Feel free to use that, should you wish!

In the 1980s and 1990s, Pocono Raceway had a ton of animal invasions during its races, including one incident in 1984 when Neil Bonnett hit a deer during a practice session for a NASCAR race. Can I RP it similar to this, where Drake comes real close to hitting the lynx?

I don't see why not!

Post 9 for Week 9 and 10.

729 words! The 93 = 9 x 9 x 9 = 729. :P

Jolyn will be going for NSSCRA 9's Chase, and don't worry, there will be no schedule conflicts. Though... I will play based on the results here as well. ^^

Just dropping in to say that the Mattijanan PokrajneKuppa, our inter-regional WGP3 championship, is going to be starting within the next few days now I've got some time on my hands. If anyone wants to interact with that in terms of sponsorship and media coverage, you'd be very welcome! Should be a nice little precursor to the WGPC proper.

I'm looking at maybe submiting a team. (Recently I caused lots of anger in NS sports,so this is my way to repay for it) My team will be based on Marussia,a F1 team that lasted from 2011-2016.

You’re free to submit a team, however most team selections for the WGPC are decided by invitation so there is a low chance a new team will get put into the championship.

Just to add to what NK has said, normally there needs to be a fairly good indication of half-decent RP before anyone is even considered for a team. RP history (in NS Sports in general, not just the WGPC) plays a big role in team selection. If I were you, Newark, I'd be lowering my expectations greatly.

You can try applying at a WGP2 season to test the waters.

To any future team submissions, Pryfors Bilar (PB) is hoping to be an engine supplier in WGPC or WGPC2.

Confirmation with the RP post that Jolyn is leaving, and another racer (not from Valentine Z) will be taking her place for the final race.

All the best to all the drivers!

Unfortunately the WGP2 season hit during my hiatus; it honestly looks awesome and I think the word limit kinda works well in its own way by observation. Honestly looking forward to WGPC, I have noticed the main WGPC nation has CTE'd though?

Depending on how much of a break people want, and whether there's another willing (and more importantly, capable) host before then, I will likely seek to (bid to) host WGPC after the Olympics, running roughly from September through December.

I've knocked up another lockdown sketchup track, the NasinalVezje DwaSavas in Eastern Mattijana. I'm considering replacing the Kopylov with this as Mattijana's WGPC entry, but I'll see how I feel closer to the time. Here it is for people's enjoyment anyway if people are interested.

I'm happy to take circuit design/ diagram requests as well. They probably wouldn't be as detailed as the above, but something like the Kopylov or the NasinalVezje Shalkar is definitely manageable.

Just to note, that last post falls into the 'doesn't count towards RP bonus or word count' category because I'm the host and I'm at liberty to do that. Ha!

In all seriousness, there may be errors in the analysis, statistical or otherwise; if you find any, do point them out! Otherwise, I'll get to writing what I suspect will be my penultimate post of the season.

To everyone competing in WGP2 III, thank you for coming on this journey with me. It has been an endeavour and an honour to bring this to fulfilment and I am so glad that its innovations seem to have had promise. Let us refine them further, that the progress we have made today not fall by the wayside.

To those fighting in either Championship, and indeed not, luck be with you! I'll see you all at the finish line.

My congratulations to those that won this season's WGP2! And of course, to those that have participated along the way - thank you for having me for this season. Despite the many falls and kinks along the way, I am honored and happy to be in this race! ^^

I will be doing an ending post soon after today, so... yeah! ♥

As always, a very big thanks to the following people, not in any particular order:
- Nimbus for hosting the race and for being very nice with newcomers like me!
- Recu for informally inviting me in and letting me try WGP2!
- Sherpa for allowing Adriana to try her luck out!
- Vil & Tur for allowing Jolyn until the near-end. I am sorry that it didn't work out, but I still have fun!
- Hapilopper for being one of the best RPing buddies that I can ever have! ^^
- EFL for doing a bit of RP interactions with me! I am sorry that it didn't work out as well, but the interactions were fun to write!

All in all, have a great day ahead! ^^

And that, my friends, is a wrap. I reiterate my thanks for coming to take part in what was in many ways quite an experimental tournament, one whose results I think are promising - even if I do say so myself! Congratulations especially to our new champions and runners up, whose future in the WGPO I suspect will be long and decorated!

Now to the future. I've got exams to get on with now but at some point soon I intend to release the version of the Racing Scorinator that I used for the WGP2 III. It's got a few extra bells and whistles that I put in, with much help and advice from Audio, that I suspect will be more than a little useful for future championships! This probably won't be the last it'll see of me, either - been wondering about putting in an option for engine suppliers (with much the same effect as tyre suppliers)... Have to wait and see on that one.

Aside from that, the only thing that's left is for me to hand off to the host of WGPC 18, whenever that comes around! Good luck to those who wish to put themselves forward for the role; I thoroughly look forward to participating!

P.S. There is actually something else I plan to do soon... Not strictly under the WGPO's jurisdiction but to do with motor racing nonetheless. Keep an eye out if you'd like!

P.P.S. Word limit doesn't apply any more. Go nuts.

What a season. It's quite the thriller.

Nimbus, thanks for your splendid job at hosting it. Congratulations to the champions!

The 1000-word RP limit changed the dynamics of the posts, but it did not made its quality any worse.

Speaking of which, there are no more races, so... ;)

Thanks so much to Nimbus and everyone else who participated for such a fun season! I had a great time, and that would have been true whatever the result. I knew nothing about F1 coming in but rping with you guys got me interested. Thanks to Savojarna who was a great teammate and rp partner, and Nimbus bears thanking a second time for all the work they put in as well as their innovative ideas. The 1000 word limit was definitely tricky sometimes but really helped keep me sane.

Now, I think I owe Vilita a legendary card over the wgp2 pick'em contest...
