I'd doubt it, but you'd probably have a translator.

Right, but if you have to rely on a translator, that's not the same as being able to talk directly, especially if you're trying to do something like talking over the radio with instructions where timing matters.

Indeed. Would be interesting to RP.

lol.. He's not saying that it would be interesting. He's saying the team wouldn't have a driver who can't speak the same language running their car roughshod around a dangerous track. It's not the norm for an RPer to snatch cars and declare their presence at a pre-race event. It's best to suggest and if people don't go with it, so be it.

Not every team would be okay with this for multiple reasons IC. I.E. the expense of a car. So you expect to hop in Vijay Tripathi's car. Which means VMR has to bring a fourth car to the event. No team should take the risk of a "young up and comer" wrecking their car on a track full of sharp turns.... Hours before race week starts.

Vannish Motors is a big factory team, so we can afford it. It's marketing and a big product placement, so it's okay. Just remember to suggest rather than declare when possible. It might not be possible for every team to do what you wanted. Maybe try requesting early enough for people to RSVP.

One article hinted that they weren't pleased with the idea. Take that as a hint. Also. Don't post cutoffs. That is an OOC post and can end up taking away your RP bonus. Only the host can give cutoffs. You might want to delete it if someone hasn't posted, or edit it into a post...

I can see that being a problem in other competitions, but I think it's clear to everyone that it's not an official WGPC thing despite the formatting being the same. It's all fine.

You sound a little... inflammatory? JNI suggested the idea, and every team was given the liberty to accept or refuse involvement. He didn't force the young driver hot lap event on anyone.

I'm not inflammatory. As usual, people are looking for ways to view me as such. Keep in mind that I RP'd his angle gladly. I'm just reminding him that my participation does not represent the norm. Of course people have the right to say no. JNI was almost confused as to why more people were not participating in his arc. I reminded him that having access to each team's car in the first place is not guaranteed.

That clarifies the point that you are taking for granted. Please try not to paint a picture of my mood one way or another when I make simple statements. Based on how he wrote it, he did expect participation from all/most teams.

My information on the cutoff also actually helps him, as opposed to just trying to defend him.

So... I've now been absent for a couple of weeks. Not ideal. Back now, though!

Basically, I got hit with a double whammy of a round of essays due in last week and exams coming up after the next. For this race weekend and the next two, my hope is to put up one reasonably sized post for each, then to come out blazing blue in the final six weeks. Between the Nimban Grand Prix and all that it entails and wrapping up what's evolved to be a (hopefully) fairly natural three year-long story arc, hopefully there'll be more than enough motivation for that on my part!

In short: sorry to hang you out to dry for a long moment, Esmerel; for everyone else, I hope you enjoyed your reprieve! Because [insert overly bombastic and arrogant quip in italics here].

I'm somewhat short on time, so apologies if my post feels rushed or incomplete (which it is). I needed to get the point that Edvin would be stepping in as race engineer once again out before the race, I felt, rather than afterwards. I'll RP everything else once I have some breathing space :)

Ops, my bad.

I saw the part of Poland-Lithuania, then I thought it should be in Europe. No Worries, I'm moving the event in my RP to Ariannin, a nation in Southern Atlantic coast, loosely based in Argentina. Hope it works with current JNI geographic representation.

Anyway, many thanks for selecting my track for WGPC17! Hope everyone enjoyed it.

I'm hoping to get a team together with a few others in my region for either this (probably too late though) or next year's WGP2 as well, any advice?

WGP2 usually runs in the second half of the year, as well as WGP3 tournaments. You can start planning your proceeds from now on.

So far I feel like this season is in a bit of an odd place.

On one hand, we could get WGPC14 2: Electric Boogaloo.

On the other, one race win would turn anyone in the top 10 in points into a serious championship contender.

Dare I say, I like it.

Be warned, though... the charge is coming. (Obey too. This is rapidly turning into a national humiliation.)

Speaking of WGP2, is anyone looking to bid to host it? I'll try to get an updated version of The Racing Scorinator out there within the next month or so (one that's even easier to use). Prod me if I don't.

I might do so... Then again, I've still got the WGPi to finish too. Need to consider.

Finished the rest (i.e. most - I think there's just under a thousand words that I added) of my last post and plan to at least make a big dent in my next one today as well! On a side note, I was reading through some of my older posts to check that I wasn't contradicting older information and ran across Timothy Guard in early WGPC 16 considering that a bump with the wall that Ryker Lane had could have been much worse without his Imagikinetic shielding... *wince*
