BIO: the AMD or Alertnative Motors Division is a new branch of National Motor Company, The second largest car company behind Knox. Designed as a platform to test alternative power systems for use in foreign markets, NMC has decided that they will use their "Baker" brand as they are the highest selling Brand of NMC Car in Xanneria and the most likely to be exported when NMC decides to start exports.

BIO: Hard Luck Robbie Moren is a talented driver but has had bad luck in finding rides. A star in lower division Open Wheel, Moren came intot he scene 15 years ago with talent but bounced around due to teams generally running out of money or having to hire funded drivers instead. Moren gained the nickname "Super Sub" from his ability to take over a car for an injured driver and be equally as competitive. Moren eventually got a job doing R&D work for the Baker racing division and will run in the WGPi for them.

Just a note to Vangaziland; been looking through your profile and thought I should note that the Nimban government already provides all of the resources (monetary [the value of all team acquisitions, including the equipment that a team starts with, gifts and other such things, being fully costed over the competition's course and counted towards the total legal spend] and otherwise) that a team is allowed to use for their WGPi entry; not sure how that squares with Vangazi governmental and commercial sponsorship, unless the university is offering advertising space to earn goodwill with its partners, which could work!

Last year took about a month from the signups starting until the negotiations over who would be driving for which team began and then another month or so after that until the racing proper started, though we're following a slightly different timetable this year already and there are probably a whole bunch of other factors to take into account.

As for joining in with the WGPi, while the team slots are filled, we'd be happy to have a Sorlovian driver or two competing! Signup details are here, if you would like to join in.

Expect the signup thread within 24 hours. The technicalities of it are all done (touch wood. Touch lots of wood). I just need to write a couple of things here and there.

The negotiation period should be a month (late Feb to late March) with the first practice sessions held in mid or late March. I don't have a working itinerary yet.

There will likely be a co-host (ie someone to do the bulk of the work from race 2ish to the finish) but information on that will come later.

Huzzah! Aside from 'John Mercer-Daly' being written instead of than 'Jean Mercer-Daly' in the trigram examples of the Driver Signup folder and Nexus Racing not coming 2nd but in fact finishing 5th in the last WGP2 competition, I can't see anything! I'll have profiles for Ryker Lane and Crossbay Circuit up soon.

With focus turning that way, then, I doubt there are going to be any more signups for the WGPi, so I'll probably fill the remaining driver slots and start the racing within the week! (I'll need to contact you to ask you about something scorinator-wise first, though Audioslavia. Sorry to keep pestering you!)

Not a bother at all. With WGPC17 around the corner I am absolutely all ears when it comes to scorinator questions.

Currently reading over all my old posts so that I can write up Ryker's bio accurately; tackling my WGPC 15 stuff at the moment. On the one hand, that has to be some of the best character writing I've ever done and I'm really pleased with it. On the other... My word, Ryker's relationship with Maria was dysfunctional and I'm only properly starting to understand why right now. It is painful to read.

If you ever happen to check on us again, Redvale, despite having CTE'd - excellent work. Also, you monster. (Though that applies to me too.)

Liuyong Xu's surname is 'Liuyong', due to Chinese naming conventions, so his trigram would simply be 'LIU'. We did this last year with Jang Xiaopeng of Vangaziland, whose trigram was JNG

Liventia has pointed out that I'm wrong-diddly-wrong-wrong. Xu is the surname, so XUL or LXU would be fine.

Also, I didn't realise I forgot to respond, I'm really sorry! But after my failure to consistently RP my team in the second tier, and given that I'll be writing my masters thesis soon and expect to have little free time until June, I've decided not to sign up a team for WGPC. I'll still participate with Sigur and potentially a second driver, though.

Speaking of livery, the inferior real-world version of WGPC is in the period where the teams are unveiling their cars' liveries for the new season.

If anyone has designs they want to show off, you can make an in-character 'livery reveal' post in the signups thread. I'll count it towards your RP bonus.

It's not mandatory. A team who can't/won't do this shouldn't worry. You can still earn as much RP bonus the traditional way.
