For simplicity, I'm doing a fully internal series for Superformula Nekoni S2 (IC: the inaugural year was last year's which was won by Erica Okumura), next seasons will have signups, I think. 6 weekends, 2 races in each, probably in the "short circuit/long circuit" style that Audioslavia's doing.

Also, Conthrax is a lovely looking font, amazing that it's free.

Maybe a bit late, but I plan on having two WGP3 competitions - one for Filindostan and another for Aji no Moto. I plan the latter to be the same car (based on KISMO), but I'll have my Filindostani series open to foreign engine, or tyre supplier.

What if WGPO had a Discord channel in NSSport server?

I've just had an idea involving Imagikinetic convertors that might push me into running an electric WGP3 series, especially since exams are just coming to an end. Still thinking as of now.

As I said on Discord today, I'm not sure a room dedicated to WGPC is quite necessary just now. For anyone who wants to join the regular NS Sport discord, here is an invite. If it expires, TG me and I'll find another link.

Short question to the graphically inclined people: How do you use a template that has a texture/shadows (whatever the proper word is - something like that from the Imgur dump) "on top of it"? They look so much nicer, but I'm completely unable to use them in GIMP and I presume it's because I don't know how. Or is it not possible at all with GIMP?
MT socialist (mostly) island state - Cultural mixture of Scandinavia, Finland and Russia -Exports iron, steel, silver and wood - Low fantasy in terms of animal species - Sports-loving - 22.8 million inhabitants.

The adjective is Savojar; Savojarnan is not a word!

You can indeed use them in GIMP! You need to utilise the 'Layer Mask' tool. Honestly, though, I wouldn't be best to explain precisely how, since I've only managed to get it to work through trial and error...

Ahh, the tool I never touch because I have zero clue how to use it or what it does :P

You need to download the template picture in a file format that supports layers (such as .psd for example)

Iirc, GIMP can indeed handle .psd files and open them with layers being kept intact, so they can be edited separately. I'll drop a download link for a blank template that I have been testing out myself here.

Hey Savojarna, I gave a try on the image Audio posted on the dump, and made this: basef1template.psd. Have a try.

Nice! I wish I had those graphic skills... love looking at people's graphics, but sadly I don't really know how to do things beyond very basic stuff. The realistic-looking things I love so much in some people's work is something I just have no clue how to do :/

Most of this is look around real liveries and doing similar stuff. Or trying to fit a sponsor. This is the shameless inspiration for Bitten Heroes GPE, the favourite livery of when I was a kid:

Ahh, Jordan... memories! I was more thinking of how to get things from my head to the PC. I usually have somewhat of an idea what I could want to do, but then I'd have to actually do it and all I know is the basics of GIMP. And then there are guys like you, Audio or Starblaydia that do amazing looking things where I just go... wow. (I know some of you do this for a living, but still, I can be jealous of your skill :P)

That template isn't mine, actually. I got it from a subreddit called F1Art. I should probably put the link to that in the OP, actually.

Whenever I've made a McPahan car I've always just found a blank white template (a google search for 'blank f1 car' turns up some templates), put it in Paint.Net, created a new layer set to either 'multiply' or 'colour burn' and painted on the new layer. If you look closely at my pictures, a lot of them are pretty slapdash. I could never draw within the lines when I was a kid and I remain unable to do it as an adult.

My favorite art that I've done for the WGPC is this... It was released after the WGP2 and before WGPC 16. So the fact that the chassis actually won after release makes it worth having a gold edition (which joins other winning chassis from various series).

This season I wanted to actually focus on the writing, though I did put up an image or two of the car. One random TV show piece.

So, I'll be releasing the X-PRO A102 for general use, in both vector and image (non-aliased, MS Paint compatible, should work on GIMP) format. It's what I imagine being a WGP3-spec car in Lisander. This is heavily based in Formula 3 and Formula Renault cars:

Stop stealing my colour scheme that I stole from Mercedes who adapted it from McLaren Looks cool! I do think that it's good for people who are less artistically inclined to have this option available, so I thank you for that, Lisander.

Renault forced them into that by making the ultimatum last week. I wouldn't take that from Renault. Of course, now we get to see if Red Bull will win with Honda.

Restyled Bjarnason's helmet design with a new template! Now with less lines, a new font and with a sponsor.

Weren't we going to hold the WGP2 host voting at some point soon?

No worries! It actually worked in my favour, at the very least; my last exam was yesterday, so I had one fewer distraction.
