In some cases you've listed which nations are puppets, but you don't have USS Monitor listed as a "puppet" of the Sherpa Empire. Both nations are mine.

WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC 43
Official Hosting Bid

I. Introduction

The Cassadagan Association for Baseball would like for the World Baseball Classic to return to Cassadaigua just like it did in the 40th edition. After the gender barrier was broken in the last Classic, and men finally took the field in Cassadaigua, the Queen wants to showcase our nation to the world again. World Baseball Classic Council, we present this bid to you for your consideration.

II. Format

Any workable number will be used that will allow for even group sizes. We’re up to about 52 signups right now, so that’s pretty amazing. We will make any number work, such as 56, with eight groups of 7, of 60 with ten groups of six, 64 with eight groups of eight. 152 will see 15 groups of 10. Hey, we’re on a pretty good pace right now in signups!

The three game series format will be used once again, but scheduled in the way of World Baseball Classic 40 (and 41), and not 42, due to the scorination method.

Playoffs? Playoffs?!? All series will be best of five, with the exception of the final which will be best of seven.

With the number of signups currently in excess of 48, we will have, at minimum 16 playoff teams. However, depending on final numbers, it is likely an additional round will be created, winding up with something like 20-24 playoff teams.

Due to the Increased number of signups: I will be looking for 72 teams, 12 groups of 6, and will have 32 playoff teams (first two teams per group qualify, plus 8 wild cards). The preliminary round will be a best of three. 75 teams will result in 15 groups of 5, with the first two teams qualifying, plus two wild cards.

Tiebreakers?
Head To Head Record
Head To Head Run Differential
Overall Run Differential
The old school Overall Run Differential/9
Tiebreaker Game

III. Scorination

xkoranate 0.3.3, with Saintland’s NSFS formula, will be used again. This is due to my personal preference, and that it is has always been trusted in the past.

RP bonus will be generously provided. That is what we are here for. It’s cumulative until the playoffs, but I will cut it in half prior to the playoffs. Roster bonuses will also be provided, naturally. I appreciate the varying RP styles and themes that occur on NS Sports, all styles are welcomed. Quality is preferred over quantity.

IV. Experience

I've done this before! World Baseball Classics 18, 26, and 40 were also hosted by us, and then some other neat things as well, including being entrusted to co-host not one, but two World Cups, and four overall World Cup Committee sanctioned tournaments. I’ve also done a World Bowl, an IBC, and a fair amount of NSCAA basketball. Other smaller things as well. Our fans are a little jealous seeing World Cup 80 in Equestrian States, after all, our former co-host, and want a big tournament at home again.

Most importantly, you can trust me. This is typically a time of year I have plenty of time to be on the forum. World Baseball Classic 40 was in May/June of 2017, too.

Feel free to ask me questions about my bid.

V. Conclusion

So, all you fine World Cup Committee nations, how about it? I’ll even bake cookies for all of you.

Let’s do it!

Northwest Kalactin wrote:Cassa will you be using Park factors

Not Cass, obviously, but I can tell you that xkoranate's baseball function does not take park factors into consideration. So unless we get an update in the next couple weeks which somehow adds that to the scorinator, your answer is no.

Thanks, EQS.
Like was said, there are no park factors as xkoranate is the proposed scorinator.

Yes I wanted to put my park factor to 200 and if we are using style modifiers put it to +5 games would be crazy then

I had a park factor of 200 and style mod of +3 last time. The effect was pretty noticeable. ICly, Syangboche favors hitters because of the high altitude and thin air.

In my opinion the park factor "forces you" to have all your qualifying games in one stadium. Historically, I like to rotate games around Newmanistan, which mean each game is a different park.
